That's a funny story when I met Tori Aoss's tour manager when I was in Melbourne in a club And he said, Oh, if you're in England, Well, I rang him straight up, said, C I stay at your house? He was like Yeah I could have been a psychopath, I was I bet youre not? Yeah, yeah. let me in We had two Oussies when I lived up in Manchester. We couldn't get them out. Yeah. That's what happened to me after neighbors, I just was like I just want to be here. this is where it's at Now what was it like when you came to London in the nineties? Was you overwhelmed was it mad it? I did a panto in Canterbury No White. You do everything. snow white Well that' No white, please That's the worst bit of cast thing I've ever done That's what you would do. you'd go over to England after the show and then you'd cash in. In Panto. That sounds terrible. and go back and be an out of work actor That's what we all did Be I want to I don't want to talk about neighbours, but I know you really do. No, no, listen, there's something about neighbours I want. I I saw Plain Jane' Super Brain on her Instagram. She's selling that mrses Mangl picture with the massive neck that Helen Daniels painted. I thought you're going to say she's actually selling Mrs Mangl I bid for that So She was one of my favorourite characters. Yeah. I just thought she was so beautiful. Never I want the painting to be O by the castle. I want the Mrs. Mangl painted. Have you got any connections there? Can you get it? Be she says Hi, I'm selling it for Jerry. And I was like, well, I don't have any, I'm not in touch with anyone The only person I'm in touch with is someone who's directing the show now, Kate Gorman. She was in Panto with me. We met in Panto. Can you have a word with her and say I will make a very handsome offer for that mrisss. M. Can you imagine You walk into your castle and there it is at the front. Yeah over the massive neck. I loved it. I remember that. I cried when Helen Daniels died. She was so lovely. went toack I'm not going get emotional. Gid, I have a laugh, of't we? Well, it's a great show, that show. Yeah. It's a great show. So listen, so tell us your first holiday memory Well I thought it was a holiday But it was a twelve hour culture in Vwhelm where my grandparents lived. and my parents sold it as a holiday and I was a kid and I didn't know any different So that So a twelve hour hour. I just remember going, M', can I have a lemonade icy pl? Iice Llly? Yeah. And are we ne there y? And it was just hours of being in the car and I was really excited and thought it was a holiday. Is it so vast Australia? Yeah it makes me laugh they, go, Oh, Sydney's got beef with Melbourne. You're nine hours away. How can you have beef? I know. It Yeah, there is a bit of a thing, isn't there? Yes ridiculous. I love Melbourne. You've lived everywhere, haven't you? You've been everywhere. Now I'll just look in here where you've been. Where I lived? Tell me no, not where. I don't remember half my life. LA. I did live in LA. Is it true you lived on an island? I did in Windsor and a little mat. You say She's like She's like twelve thousand lad. What' it like? was you like Robins and Cru? Well my second album's called White L' Island after that island. Oh wow. what was it like? I didn't even an island. It's pretty amazing, but the tourist boats would come past and scream out And we've got Natalie and Brunies. Well, no, that's a terr. What was that accent That was not an English accent. I don't know who that was. do that you p get off. No, I did. I did that in Johnny English. You heard how bad my English accent is in that movie. How wasalth did you get? Do get like, your flaming galgh? Do you want to hear actual accent that I had I'm from a place called the Central Coast, which is like a small beach town. in Australia. And u Oh, let me try and get back into the mode. It's like A yeah, but I have to swear, can I swear? Of course you can. Ah yeah, the fuck I am m How in, e That's my favite A year now. You you're like, well is it yes or no? You speak like that when you came over to London pant out. Pretty much Boyys g out. Prety much, prettyty much. He's beenis Yeah. here's the hider Night Are you coming with me? I'm just gonna stay here and fuck Sparta. So I will have to edit that out That one I have never heard, but apparently that's like a. And I was like, well, what does that mean? It's like, Well, that's the whole point. You start thinking about what But it's like, you going to come with me? you' you just gonna to stay here and Be I've been watching that Married at first sight Australia, which is Addictive. I was meant to do a whole day. I sat and watched eight of them. They are so I just loved those I mean I love the way the O on the end of everything. You know like Botlo. Oh Botlo. Botlo. Oh hello Waynei. in Melbourne, the posh version of that is. Hello Lori. How are? Do you want to go to a cafe Ecucina for a cappuccino? Oh Lori. Beacause I remember I worked in Sydney and they go, You know the woman with the flat shoes and the short hair? This is a lessso. Lesso A Jimbo, come there. What is that about Abreviations. Now haveave you seen married at first sight Australia I've seen a couple of episodes just I'm addicted Because the Aussies go hard. if they're mad, it's like they'll rip their hair out, they'll throw drinks. Oh my gos, dramas dramas. Yeah. Oh it's highly addictive. I love it. I love it and they don't take any shit do they? Yeah. I've always wondered about that. I guess it's just like This was at the bed at the the s God' packing K I't mean well Well, yeah, well hungo. Oviousee I've forgotten the lingo. Well hungo. Yeah. It's set as thick as mrses Mangle's neck is. they know can we use any of this? I'm loving it. would be the shortest everis ever.our fucks spest? You know what? I got Katie Tunstall to do that when she was touring Australia. I said, Oh this will go down a t. So she filmed her saying to a Nutia audience. Yeah. But she blamed me. She said, My friend Natalie said to. come on. But it went down a treat. They loved it local knowledge. So have you ever had a holiday romance Oh, that's a good one. Yeah Uh, Yeah Yeah. I didn't know you could ask that one I don't know the ins and outss, but I mean, where was was it? I don't know know what happened, but I'm just saying, I mean was what was it wasas it a waiter? Was it a lifeguard? Beause for me it was a security guard. It was a barman. What Barman? A Barman. Okay.. All right. South of France. South of France? Welcome That's f. He's here tonight. Reionited No,, we're not like that. I just want to know. Yeah. pretty it's pretty sexy having a holiday romance, I. There's something about the heat that makes me horny. Yeah It's just, I think it's when you It's when you try and revisit just talking about it me too, my auntp'so. Yeah, yeah. But it's that thing of like if you try and revisit something like that, that's where it all can go wrong. Yeah. just leave it So don't go back Don't revisit. Yes. Just let it live as what it was Yeah So yeah. I went back S I know. It's like a firework that hasn't gone off. Leave it. Don't go back, you'll get burnt You' end up hideously disfigured. Lave it. So listen, you're really lucky because you get to perform all over the world So tell us Upside downs out. Yes Algorithms' coming, isn't it So tell us When will be able to hear you sing live Well, I'm doing lots of festivals over the summer. Yeah and I'm just really excited about this album because it's It's got a lot of electronic sounds in it and it's really upbeat, considering most of it was written mental health. Yeah that I'm dealing with. Isn't that weird? Yeah But I'm just really proud of it. I've kind of funded it myself, I've co produced it and And I'm just loving it. It's just been so much fun. It's the most fun I've ever had making a record. Oh, that's good. Yeah And then when you do at these festivals, you're gonna show us all the hits and everything that's on it. Oh yeah, all the hits will be on there. but I think this album was also made thinking about playing live venues and festivals and kind of someome of the fky more folky songs I've written that I love Yeah. It's like it's not necessarily your audience and you're out there trying to do a little So I was like, I want every single song to be like a single Yeah So this album was written like that's interesting about the mental health thing. Yeah. that wasas that a conscious thing Because I'm going on tour next year with my stand upp and stuff and Sometimes it's I'm fine and it's the weirdest thing with comedy. sometimes the darkest stuff gets the most laughs Y. And maybe is that a bit like with music? You know, you dig deep and then you go, o my God, this is so good, but it's wrong. I think what's different about this album, I've always kind of been bit Awomeone's in trouble. Please turn your phone off on the phone O there slides Is it m? No Thank you, please Don't let me tell you again, thank you You're making a mocker of this. That's amazing. So basically, all my albums have had like melancholy, but I don't know, this time r, it was so bad that I went the other way because I was like, you know, it's so bad I've got to laugh because I hit perimenopause. Oh And I just started going crazy. And so I go into these writing sessions with a bunch of guys and I'm Australian, so you know, we talk about all sorts. And so I just tell them what I'm dealing with and what I'm going through. and we'd end up laughing and somehow When you hear the song, you would never know. Yeah. The dark days. Yeah that inspired them. Beuse that's Sophia Sx's album as well. We had her on here as well. You know, she was talking about was I was so Per was it pop Per Yeah, what's it called? Perienopop? Peri Menop That's I love her I was so happy that she's talking about it because I think, you know, it's one of those things that We need to start talking about it and not People are talking about it. you know I think Jessse We did an interview and she was saying, you know, women are saying, this is how I'm feeling and it's unashamed. and that's how it should be. Lying naked on the floor. You just quoted my lyrics from Torn. Sorry, I had to That is how I feel. Oh yes. Sorry. J my favorite one Shiffer. You like that one? Love that one. I love that one Yeah. That go That one goes down well at a festival considering it's a ballad. Yeah, yeah. and the video for that, you were like a spy, weren't you? That wasar a spy. Beuse you wear a black roll neck and I was like, I'd love to wear a roll neck. ' do you know what that was inspired by? Ball Iidentity. Yes, I can see it. It's such a good video and such a great. Jayen was a great video director. He did crazy in loveove Beyonce, so he's Oh yeah, he's the best guilled. Because I can't wear a roowll neck. I look like a fat man stuck in a hot water bottle That's all like I can see now. So tell it, is this true? You went to the Eolian was he called? Iolian Island. My dad's from there. Oh wow. Yeah. And you were in a vineyard? This sounds like my dream holiday. Vineyard cooking lessons. Yeah You could say I did a gig in Calubria I'm not a very good cook, by the way. I was like, I think I think Lippery where my dad's from's near here. This is when I was young, and I was like, G, say weve got a boat and someone had a boat and then the next thing you know I'm on a boat. I don't come back, call the police. and I went with my friend and we went over to the Iolian Islands and I was like, Oh this is where my dad's from. It's like Atlantis, like more water than land, and you island hop between the most beautiful differentiffere islands. So liiberary where my dad's from was like going back in time, Cobblestone Street, those little tiny cars. And then you've got Panarea. which is quite chic where Armani had a house and then And then you've got Selena that's got that vineyard where I did a cooking lesson and it's the most incredible holiday Is it I think I've is it do the dolphins come up to the boat and all that? Is it that place or boat I mean, there's dolphins there, I'm sure, but I don't think it's But it's anedote sound I' sorry. I remember there was a few, even though I wasn't there on the. So sorry. No, That was quite a shutdown wasn't it? I it wasn't dolphins. That's not my fault or your fault. It was quite an abrupt no, wasn't it?? No, No dolphins. Nothing. Sorry. No. Have you ever had a holiday disaster? Oh I've just remembered there was dolphins Is that in your notes? I've just remembered on the way there, the first I went, I'm so sorry. I've just remembered, sorry. wither menopuse. very menopuse. On the way there A whole thing of dolphins came. I bet I've said it in an interview and I've forgotten. but it was on the way so I forgot. So then I was thinking about being on the island and there were no dolphins. There There was about twenty eles. Well the damage is done now. I love this. This is like I don't want to leave. I know you've got another one, but I'm staying. you'll have a sleep in bag. Sheh'll be sleep in there?. Do mand if I just? Ey Broo has been there two years. She won't go P's pretty true. Oh dear. Have you ever holidayed with a famous person? and we use this quite tenuous. We say has someone been on the plane with you or if you bump because we've had some really fantastic celebrity encounters. someone bumped into Dina Roths at the Fyer and Leonardo Cat I always say this. Leonardo Di Cap Prio and his pussy Pussy were on the easy jet. Okay Michael McIntre was in Pulia and Madonna came in riding a horse Well, there's a sight to see. I know. I know I know That's pretty amazing. Yeah. So have you anyone S, now I'm going to sound braggy, but I've been blessed to go to Necca Island many a time. Oh yees because I'm friends with The Branson family so. And we did something together didn't we at the house in Richmond, didn't we remember? Yeah, we did That's right. We just fun up. Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. Yeah. That was a video, wasn't it there? Yeah that nobody ever saw Anyway Segue. You got me back. Dolphins. Dolphins. Dlphins. No, I wasn't there. No, I wasn't there. What you mean that's song that didn't actually get any No weret we glove puppies. Yeah. Yeah. It's actually a phenomenal video.uch a good video. I know, but I got dropped and anyyway, that's another story. Anyway, moving on, dolphins. So per many a trip to Neckca Island and this one particular trip. Richard has a knack of bringing in all different kinds of people on one holiday. Like that's what I love about dinner and it's not formal and it's just so there was H Elon Musk Ronnie Wood My friend Rachel Hunter was with me. and David Hasselhoff. I mean The hoff. That's a mix, though, Iah. Just just wrap your head around that David Hasselhalf, Ronnie Wood Elon Musk. My God, that is so random. I was like, I can't wait to see how this plays out. And also if you went for a swim and you were drowning, you knew you'd be safe. He'd be running in slow mion, but he'd get you eventually. He would get you eventually. She's been attacked by a dolphin. Leave it, Alan. Leave it. Leave itave it Lving on He's goone What would your luggage say about you? Are you a good packer? I mean, you're always on the go. I mean, I know I said you lived over. I made a mistake then I I was just looking at the places on your Instagram. because you perform all over the world. There was Helsinki there, there was Scotland, Berth there was like you said, Mexico How do you and you're like a mum as well. How does that work? I think that's where my ambition kicked in Yeah because it's like before that it was I just didn't have the drive, but then when you're a parent and you're Doing it to take care of your child. it's just a different drive So I'm like How much is it? Where is it? I'll turn up, know, I'll fly anywhere, I'll do anything. Yeah. Yeah, because you know, in the music industry, it's very expensive to tour. so you got to do you've got to do a lot of it. Yes, we heard about that, is it? I can't believe that Yeah because ticket prices are going up. Yeahet no one's making it. Who's making all the money? The top one percent Yeah. Taylor Swift. Yeah And few people like that. It's just it's just really hard you have to love it to do it and I love it. I just I just love it. So I think I quit and I went to Hollywood to try to be an actress and I was sort wayess. I was like, o Maybe other career. Yeah, yeah yeah that I've had was not so bad. So I just I decided if I'm singing to two people in a pub I love doing this Yeah. and so I wasn't trying to kind of arrive anywhere or you know, I just thought this is what I love doing. and I can't do anything else Like what other job am I going I've been doing it since I've been working since I was sixteen and a half That's it. I think It's perfect for you isn' it? Becauseuse I mean I'm just I think you've got this nomadic quality. You do travel everywhere. You're probably like a sponge. You take in things all the time. And then you but on the travel, the luggage. Yeah The worst part for me of tralling is packing. I don't know how you go with packing, but that's where the neurodivergence we find it traumatising becausecause it's like the what if But what if there's a hailstorm? and what if there's a So I just went to Australia Mexico and LA. Yeah. I think I packed about pairs of jeans and didn't wear any of them Like who gets it that wrong every time? But I'm like, well, I just it turns into like a five hour packing um Well, for me, it's pairs of pants. and I saw something on Instagram and like, you know, you pick about twenty seven pounds and someone said, Why dod you pack as many pants as if you're gonna shit yourself three times a day you go to America and you packle these pants and then you're like, they've got washing machines. This is America. You know, they have got pant shop. Or socks, I'll take like twenty pairs of socks. Why? I don't know In case there's not a washing machine, like really I don't know The whole of America, you go somewere there's no bloody washing machine. But the worst is when you're going on boats and things or if you're going to Neckca, I'm always the one with three suitcases for four days and it's bit like, I'm might sorry, I'll put it onto the boat. I always end up leaving me charger due to that Leaving your child Oh, yes, yes. Cher. Yeah. that's yeah. I never All the adapters. Adapter. yeah, yeah, I've got a draw full of adapters. I keep forgetting them. I took the American ones to Australia this trip and was like, well, that's not going to help me very much. And also in America, you then need to take an American because I was doing a gig had to take an American hairdryer, so you have to have two of everything for the voltage You brought two air dryers on? Well, there's, you know, in a Yeah Is this true? Is this a woman thing? Yeah And the tongues don't work.. You don't want to blow Yeah.. It's been too long on the manis here. I the manop Manis Manis. Manis I've watched Andrew Tate now the sexist pig. I like I like mananisphere. You It' like a woman thing. We your air dryer. I'm jealous You created a new word manosphere. Well now it's a thing. Oh thing. Oh, I thought it Dph thought it was you again. I thought it was yours. No No, I mean yeah, apparently it's anyway, yeah anyway. It's not like manopause, it's a whole different ball game. Have you ever complained? I can't see you complaining. Have you ever lost shit in a hotel, this is disgusting. Only privately but never to anyone. No, just I Just muttering away to myself Yeah No, I not. I wouldt haven't really complained. No, the only thing I get frustrated about is when when you're with the hand luggage thing, if you're doing a connecting flight. And the wheelie bag that you bought that was okay on that plane is suddenly not okay on the next plane. and you've got to check it in. It's got your laptop, it's got your jewelry. And you have a panic attack and you start crying at the thinker you're like, I cheking of my hairs. It one of my hairdryers in there I mean how long have you been away from home then in one go? Be you're just crazy, it's crazy. Well, we just did a month away, so that's quite a long time, but I had my son with me so that was good. I mean, this is a difficult question because there's so many gorgeous places in the world, but where's been the best view for you? Where have you gone Oh, Natalie, this has blown me away I would probably say Byron Bay. in the Hinterland, My friend's got the most incredible view and I've bought some land up the street, but I can't afford to build a house on there. But one day, Huunde When I'm doing arenas maybe? Yeah Yeah' manifesting. But it's like beautiful view of farmland and then in the distance is a beach. so. I mean, Australia is just absolutely gorgeous. isn't it amazing? I love it. I'd love to end up there Really? Yeah I thought I would have already been doing like three months of the year, but hasn't quite worked out, so I'm just a work horse, but I love it, so. Eventually, I'll retire there I think What do you like food wise? Are you adventurous food wise? W you out like? I can't do Chill I can't do spicy Acid reflux, I can't. That's embarrassing because I think it's really cool To have spicy food to have acid refs I add it all for the reabino. I like red wine. Yeah. tea. That' because ye know that's an alkaline outside your body and that turns into acid. I didn't know that. I's been sipping on it. That's why I'm coughing Oh now she's accused of poisoning her Dolphins That's why you gave me acid reflux. No No don't. We love each other really. do we don each other for bloody a Yeah and that And then you know lemon, lemon o this is so boring. Lemon is an acid outside your body, but when it goes in, it's an alkaline. It's an alkaline, but it also can create mucus. So for a singer before a show No. Lemon can make mucus. Yeah How does it make mucus I's so verycy. scientist my aervedic doctor said if you're feeling a bit poorly and you're going to sing that it can make the mucus worsen to not have And to not heat the honey to have mananuga honey direct but not in the hot. yeah Tips Tips from Aerabedic medicine. Yeah., that's interesting. Yeah This is your Captain Speaking. We are on our final approach to our destination. Cabin crew get ready for landing, cabin crew, get ready for landing Well, listen, we're about to start out of scense, so we've just got time now for a quick fire aroundound, okay?
