Count Terrorism police are investigating a series of suspected anti Muslim attacks which left five men injured in Edinburgh last night. It's thought the attack started near a mosque in the west of the city. Footage posted on social media shows a bare chested man roaming the streets with a large weapon. The strait is a vital waterway for international trade. Around twenty percent of the world's oil and petrochemical products pass through it. Opening the strait was a key part of the peace agreement between the US and Iran . Police say twenty eight people are still in hospital with nine in a critical condition after two passenger trains collided near Bedford yesterday afternoon. One of the drivers was killed in the crash. The chiefst Conable of British Transport Police Lucy Dorsey said extremely experienced investigative teams were at the site. There will of course be a lot of questions as to what exactly happened last night . I would really like to reassure everyone that specialist investigators from British Transport Police are working with colleagues at the Rail Accident Investigation Branch to gather the facts . Security Star has been urged to use the weekend to reflect on his position and set out a timetable for his resignation after Andy Burnham's by election victory in Mayerfield. The Prime Minister's pledged to fight any challenge to his leadership. The Green Party's announced its candidate for the election to replace Mr Burnham as Mayor of Greater Manchester. She's Geraldine Coghin, who's been a councillor for Trafford since twenty eighteen. The election will be held on the thirtieth of july Europe's facing sweltering temperatures this weekend with several countries on alert. Hot air from Africa has created a high pressure heat dome. The BBC weather presenter Louise Lear has more details. The extreme heat is across Portugal and into Spain at the moment and it's also drifting its way up through Western France and into northern France, much of central and eastern Europe actually. We're seeing temperatures forty degrees. That's a good ten to fifteen degrees above the normal for this time of year. And it's quite unusual to have such an extreme heat wave so early on in the season.
