Sakir Stamma says he'll be replaced as Prime Minister by September at the latest after announcing his resignation as Labour Leader today. In a speech outside number ten, Sakir said it was clear he'd lost the support of his party. The former greater Manchester mayor, Undy Burnham has been sworn in as an MP. He says he'll put his name forward to replace Sakir Starmer. If he's unopposed, he'll be Prime Minister next month. Peter Princeley is the Labour MP for Berry St. Edmonds and Stowmarket and says Andy Burnham's policies are unknown. I'm a little bit sad about what's happened to Kirstarmo. I think he's a thoroughly decent man . It's obvious that he has lost the support of the people to some extent, which was what we saw in the local elections. You know, what I would say about Andy is that he's unknown to most of us in the Parliamentary Labour Party who are new. The Conservative leader Kemi Badenok says Sakir's Starmar's replacement must focus on increasing defense spending. The Liberal Democrats say the public are tired of a merry go round of prime ministers. The leader of reform UK Nigel Farrosh is called for an immediate general elect ion. Whoever becomes the Prime Minister will not have been voted for by the British public . And if the next Prime Minister is the new MP for Makerfield, Andy Burnham, he didn't even stand at the last election on any manifesto at all. And I really do think, I really do think that my call for there to be a general election as soon as is possible, I think you'll find a lot of support for that. The former DUP leader, Sir Jeffrey Donaldson has been found guilty of eighteen sex offences against two women when they were children. One of the convictions is for rape. Donaldson has been told to expect a lengthy jail term when he's sentenced in September. He's been remanded in custody. The twenty twenty three Wimbledon women's singles champion, Marqueto Von Drassova has been banned from tennis for four years for refusing an out of competition drug test. The Czech player says stress, poor mental health and concerns for her safety affected her decision making when a doping control officer visited her home in December. The tribunal ruled there was no justification for refusing the test. The Met Office has issued a red extreme heat weather warning for parts of central and southern England and Wales from Wednesday morning says the heat is likely to pose health risks not just to vulnerable people. And amber warnings already in place, the Met Office's Chief Scientist Professor Stephen Belcher, says the red warning is rare. It's only the second time that the Met Office has issued such a warning . So that in itself marks it out as a really distinctive and hot event . we So're seeing lots of records broken this year and this really demonstrates how our climate is changing right now
