I'm Malcolm Nance. Welcome back to Black Man Spy. As you know, Wagya, the gay lion out to a protest and I am back because when he signed off , somehow, without me touching nothing , substat ended the entire stream . And it turns out that I was speaking to myself for about ten minutes , reading the Declaration of Independence or parts of the Declaration of Independence . And then when I started again, some of you couldn't hear me, so now you are the part for those of you who would like to hear me read as a Philadelphian parts of the Declaration of Independence that mean the most to me and why they mean the most to me . It's very important to me that on this day and this is how I ended it. You missed a great sign off, right? I want you to have the day of independence and independence remembrance that you want , right? For me right now, it's Philadelphia, it's July, fourth , seventeen nineteen seventy six . I was fifteen years old . Elton John's song Philadelphia Freedom was the number one song in the country , as a matter of fact and it was just one party after another . And loved that America . And I thought, man if Kamala Harris were going to be president , we would be having another great independent stay. And now we have Potterville, as I said, in the other substack. It is not a we are not Bedford Falls. It is not a wonderful life. We are in a dark, dark place Amer isica. America that's led by a dictator and an authoritarian . And I'm not even going to discuss it anymore. I wrote four New York Times bestsellers about that, plot to hack America, plot to destroy democracy, plot to betray America, and they want to kill Americans . And we are just going down a darker, darker, darker road. Katie Spain was there in Philadelphia . Good job, sister . But thank you so much. No one's sabotaging the program which is just technology people. Shit happens, right ? But I don't want us to be Potterville. I want us to be Bedford Falls again. I want , you know, Clarence to get his wings. So with that, I'm going to delete about ten minutes and I'm going to read a little. Somebody says, do I still have my eight track tapes? No, I have cassettes. All right, my brother had eight tracks. So for those of you who could bear with me, I'm going to read you some of the parts that I read for National Security Leaders for America where they had veterans read the Declaration of Independence. So please bear with me and then we'll have a little talk. It is not every part of the Declaration of Independ ence, it's the parts that I really love. And here I will start with the first part . When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people whoops, sorry, for one I got way late . Okay, I'll start over, right? Because someone called . When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another , and to assume among the powers of the earth the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them . A decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation And I love this line when I heard it in Hamilton the first time I cried . We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal , that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights that among these are life , liberty , and the pursuit of happiness . That to secure these rights governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends , it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government , laying its foundations on such principles and organizing its powers in such form as to them shall seem most likely to affect their safety and happiness, prudence , indeed will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for light or transient causes , and accordingly, all experience hath shown that mankind are more disposed to suffer while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed . But when a long train of abuses and usurpations purs uing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right , it is their duty to throw off such government , and to provide new guards for their future security . Such has been the patient sufferance of these colonies , and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former systems of government. The history of the present King of Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations , all in having direct object the establishment of an absolute tyranny over these states . And to prove this, let the facts be submitted to a candid world. I'm just going to read a few of the grievances. Tell me if any of these strike home to you . He has refused assent to laws , the most wholesome and necessary for the public good . He has obstructed the administration of justice by refusing his assent to laws for establishing judiciary powers , from protecting them by a mock trial, from punishment for any murders which they should commit on the inhabitants of these states . Good, God , can you believe they predicted Ice would be murdering American citizens for suspending our own legislatures and declaring themselves invested in the power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever. He has forbidden his governors to pass laws of immediate and pressing importance unless suspended in their operation till his assent should be obtained , and when so suspended he is utterly neglected to attend to them . He has made judges dependent on his will alone for the tenure of their offices and the amount and payment of their salaries , for cutting off our trade with all parts of the world . He has abdicated government here by declaring us out of his protection and waging war against us . He has refused to pass other laws for the accommodation of large districts of people unless those people would relinquish the right of representation in the legislature, the right inestinable to them and formidable to tyrants only . He would have thought he was talking about the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico two hundred fifty years ago. Donald Trump doesn't want any of them to have represent ation . He has erected a multitude of new officers and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people and eat out their substance for imposing taxes on us without our consent . He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coast , burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people. Good God, I love me some Jefferson . These guys figured it all out two hundred and fifty years ago today . Anyway , for depriving us in many cases of the benefits of trial by jury , he is at this time transporting large armies of foreign mercenaries to complete the works of death , desolation and tyranny , already begun with circumstances of cruelty and perfectly scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages and totally unworthy of the head of a civilized nation. He has rendered he has the effect to render the military independent of and superior to civil power . Tell me if this doesn't sound familiar to anyone who's been deported to Uganda or Guinea Basal or Swaziland for transporting us beyond seas to be tried for pretended offenses. He has constrained our fellow citizens taken captive on the high seas to bear arms against their country, to become executioner or their friends and brethren, or to follow themselves by their hands. It's enough. I'm going to read you the part that I really like from the Declaration of Independence . In every stage of these oppressions we have petitioned for redress in the most humble terms, our repeated pet itions have been answered only by repeated injury A prince , whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a tyrant is unf it to be the ruler of a free people . We, therefore, the representatives of the United States of America in general Congress as,sembled , appealing to the Supreme Judge of the World for the rectitude of our intentions , due in name and by authority of the good people of these colonies solemnly publish and declare that these united colonies are and of right ought to be free in independent states and that they are absolved from all egiance to the British crown and that all political connection between them and the state of Great Britain is and ought to be totally dissolved and that the free independent states they have full power levy war, conclude peace, contract alliances, establish commerce, and do all other acts and things which independent states may of right do . And for the support of this declaration of the firm reliance on the protection of divine providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor. I'm sorry, I'm doing a little guy cry here My family has protected this nation for one hundred and sixty two years . Non stop. There has always been an ants in the armed forces since two brothers ran away from slavery to join the Union Army in eighteen sixty four . We take this very , very seriously . These words mean so much to us and to watch today America be run by a dictator, a tyrant , a prince whose very act is thus marked by a tyrant is unfit to be the ruler of a free people. That's where we are today . That's why when you know I was speaking on six quest ions , you know, I remembered my late wife. She's buried at Washington Crossing National Cemetery and there is a statue of George Washington kneeling over the graves of the U. S. military dead at Washington Crossing, Pennsylvania . And I feel ashamed that that we have let this legacy down . That's what I feel ashamed about. And that's today . I'm going to celebrate the Declaration of Independence as it was originally written, but I swear my life, my treasure , to defeat this tyrant , to bring down this dictator . And I look forward to the challenge. I've had people on social media say , We're going to call that you get recalled back into active duty and be tried for treason to be tried because you called Donald Trump this or that fucking bring it . There would be nothing greater. I would call for a court martial , not non judicial punishment. I wouldn't be I wouldn't even file for a civil , you know, for my lawyers to try to obey that, I would definitely go back in the uniform. I would definitely go back into the service to be tried for some stupid ass comment like My free speech is invoked treatment. I would give a speech that fucking Jefferson would stand up in his grave and say, Good God, I wish I had thought of that . Because I would be coming at it with unbridled fire and righteous fucking anger over these morons who have seized our government and turned it into a criminal enterprise . That's what I feel in my heart on this independence day . So I declare my independence from this traitorous band of thieves . I do not recognize Donald Trump as my president. I will never call him president . And people ask me, someone actually asked me this. Malcolm, what would you say to Donald Trump? I'd say one , I'd spit in his fucking face , and two, I'd say if I could take one step to beat your rat bastard ass I would I would slap the shit out of you for every person who has ever shed blood for this nation . I got a great grand great, great grand uncle who died on patrol in the Indian Wars as a member of the Ninth Cavalry, she suffered an inner ear infection , which goes into the bone of the head . And they say it's like having a drill ice pick shoved into your brain repeatedly. He fell off, his horse, was brought back to Fort Leavenworth hospital and died in excruciating pain . I can't imagine he's still buried in Fort Leavingworth, Kansas Cemetery. Any of you guys would like to go down to the military cemetery, say hi to WH Nance, William Ant Nance , feel free . But I was slap the shit out of Trump for his pain and suffering trying to make America a better place for his children. And now at the end of it all we decide dictatorship is better. better . I do not kneel, I do not bow to these people . I was the guy when Bill Mara called Stephen Miller, baby Gerbels that's what these people are admirers of Nazis , racist and pedophiles . I declare my independence . I want you to figure out how you're going to do it today too. You know how to really do it? I'm going to have a French seventy five later one . Cus why bother with anything else ? Until this nation's restored , we all need to declare our independence. So thank you for another very heartfelt episode of Black Man Spy .
