The next creature we're about to talk about is probably the hardest to understand. It kind of blends the reality between physical spiritual theereal, whatever you whatever language you want to throw at it. Ethan's coming on the show. He saw what he claims to be skinwalker comoming at him on a dark highway. Stuff out of nightmares. He lives to tell the tale And like you said on the episode, I mean, sometimes these stories don't go well, but Ethan's a listener to the show, send us this message and if you're listener and you have a story Hit us up and this is, you know, all you people that have been clamoring for more crypted creature encounters, here you go. This one is you know, reminiscent of es we heard from John Red Bird Dover on the Navajo Ranger episodes that we did with him. You know, Ethan lives right smack in the middle of southern Ut and Navajo territory, right along the mountain range this sort of buffers up to all of that. and he had a trify terrifying encounter and he's here to share for the first time with us on blurry creatures. So he's in Wendigo's backyard pretty much. right in his pool house He's got a big backyard in Wendigo yeah, So if you're want this story and we've got hundreds of other encounters and exclusive interviews just for our members Check out wwW. blurrycreatures. com slash members. you can go there. So check it out and Let's get Ethan on the show to tell about this terrifying night in January of last year drive the cars, Luke, and I drove a lot of miles around the United States. I probably drove sixix to seven hundred thousand miles around the country playing shows never saw anything weird come out of the bushes, but people do and they email us and they they have these stories. And one of my favoritees was a Bigfoot keeping up p with a trucker as he looked out the window going seventy five, Big foot runrun alongside of him, but Welcome to the show, Ethan. You have a you have one of these stories. It's it's a little different, a little scariary, but What are your thoughts on Bigfoot? You're in Bigfoot countountry and you email this a story. And you saw something and we want to we want to ask you some questions. So welcome welcome glry Creatures What are your thoughts on the big guy? Yeah, so like I told you', it's just awesome to be able to share the story and have a platform where we can do this So bigfoot, I personally have never seen The big guy as Luke calls it. I've yeah, I've never seen him. I've heard all the stories. I got hooked on your guys's podcast Ironically, on a Colorado road trip with my wife camping in the various parts of the mountains of the woods. Yeah And it probably wasn't the smartest thing because we listen to Specifically that one too episode with the two police officers. that's the one to do if you're going camping. I know, right? Rem reminds me dude, I was in this dude high school or college, you remember when this I think college when the Blair Witch proroject came out. Do you remember that? guys you remember this one And it kind of made it feel like we didn't know if it was real or if it was a movie. And they filmed it that way. and I literally watched it like the day before we went camping. and it's a horrifying story, which was terrified to go camping that way. but with some buddies and stuff. So I started stacking rocks outside their tents because they all watched it with us, which is what happens in the Blair Witch project. So I I can relate to that. Yeah, D, of course dude write yourreake. I think it was Bucks Lake, shhout out to Norcow. Doing that scaring yourself before you go spend time in the woods is one way to do it. What happened was is I stumbled on your guys' podcast through the unashamed crew. There are two podcasts because I listen to their stuff So I heard you guys talking about it and I was like intrigued of some of the stuff you're talking, Wh don't we talk about this as Christians? And so I stumbled into the Wendigo podcast and then the John Dover podcasts of Bigfoot in this area and skkin lockers and We just went down a rabbitole and started be listening for like five days as we're driving. And so the running joke was we're just gonna see something nuts and just die out here in the woods. With that, I haven't actually seen Bigfoot. My thoughts are there's so many opinions and so many stories and so many different things that people have seen It's hard for me to even pin down what Bigfoot is other than the consistent big, hairy, monstrous looking creature. because some of them, you got the telepathic stories And then you got storyies about shot a big foot in the woods and the government took a photo of it and they said it was a bear. The furthest dive in theer eeriness of The words twoo occasions, I've been in the woods and it felt like I was being watched. But I didn't actually ever see anything. O time in Springfield Missouri when I was down in college and then Another time a few years ago here I went hiking with my son up in the mountains here to a little place called Potato Lake in North Duringo And it was early and I was just walking and I just had for about ten minutes this feeling If something was watching me, it's just that sixth sense that everybody talks about U And so my son, he's only two and we're walking. it's a good thirty minutute hike, which isn't a long time in the Gant rand schema hikes, but but you got a two year old and that's about it, nobody else on the trail. They're hugging tight and being like, all right whatever we're about to do, it's going to happen. So nothing happened. but yeah, I've never seen the guy, but I know what I do know is there's something out there. There has to be something out there. There's too many stories and too many encounters and too many Honestly, I believe it's proof out there that there's something out there. It's just hard to pick down if it's a spiritual thing only or if it's flesh and blood, or if it's always both or because there's all kinds of them throughout the world.. What I do know is there's definitely somethingomething out there pulling with us that You know you guys were talking about dirty jobs before the Mike Row tal about your old jobs. and maybe Bigfoot's just the janitor of the woods and he's just he's not having a good day because he's out there He's got to take care and clean of everything, you know. It's interesting It's interesting though, likeike you I've had that feeling too Beat in like, um Way back when ear in my early twenties, I was working at a summer camp in Northern California and What ended up happened with us was it wasn't a big fooot. it was a mountain lion. And the scariest thing about that is you kind of get that sense of being watched, but you don't see anything? Right . And then you do, which is for us, it was like all of a sudden there was a big cat. hundred yards down the trail. was it is. No thanks. My favorite meme was the guy made a video like that and he's like, a cougar's watching me and attack he turns around and it's like his buddy dressed as an old woman going coming at him. That's not why we're here today, you know? That's not what we're. It' not That was nothing not This is not the kidter story we're looking for. Yeah There're stories though Yeah. Now Ethan, you got you've got a you don't have a bigigfoot encounter, but you Yeah you said something not the worst than the worst. nothing else. start like you start at the beginning for us and like, you know, how long ago was this? And then you live out near Durango in So down from of Baayfield, Colorado. and It's on the edge the San Juan Mountains Can you kind of Talk about when this was and kind of explain what this what this area is like folks that haven't been out that way. You know how remote is it, what is it like, et cetera. Yeah, of course. So this area and like I said at the beginning, I'm still a student of this area. I've lived here about five years My wife was born and raised here. so it's a very different culture than where I grew up from back in Kansas City. Man, the stories in Kansas City, they're all just like school stories. And then you get out here and the culture out here is extremely tribal. You got the southern Uute, you have the Navajo U I work with a Navajo team. I lead that team and they're very very in this they're very spiritual people, whichich is interesting because when I told them, I started to tell them about this story And they were like, no, no, no, I don't, I don't want to talk about. So And I knew that, I knew that was some of them are open to talk about and some of them aren't. So I learned a little bit about my crew of kind of where they're at in the the spiritual security When it comes to what I saw U But yeah this area is very heavy and the tribal culture U It's very heavy in a Western culture. Yeah, we're right on the edge of the Sana Joan mountains. and I know there's stories around here of people seeing things. I go to a men's breakfast every Friday and I told them my story and they're like, yeah, that's happened to me and And I'm like, what You've never told me this. That's pretty So it's not unheard of for just to see stuff around here. So yeah, I mean, where I'm at, I'm I'm about twenty minutes outside of Durango, Colorado. Durango is the quote big city in the southwest area. And by big it's not big. we' ten to twenty thousand Max and then Bingfield dinzov. Where I come from that that's small. I come from an actual Kansas City city suburban life. So coming here was a very much culture shock. Yeah. so on the edge of the Soundland Mountains, Bayfield, twenty minutes outside, it's very rural. This area is very we're a one stop light town. There's not a lot happening in Bayfield. We're still working to get an actual grocery store. We have a little one Yeah But it's very it's a very remote feel and then the biggest subdivision just up north of here, I mean, the houses are so spread apart and it goes way up into the trees into All that. It just feels like you're driving through this beautiful scenery wherever you go. So at night U You kind of get the eerie feel of all the mountains, the darkness and everything. And that's what I drive every day. Okay. So you drive on down down the highway To work. So when is this when does this story take place? How many years is a year ago, two years ago? It january twenty twenty five. So we're looking about a year year in change Okay It was a little more than a year ago. So take us back to that to that day and walk us through through the beginning. That day work for I work for a beverage industry and we distribute lots of things. but was it was not a taxing day. My days kind of depend on the load. So this day wasnt wasn't too bad. I was going home about nine o'clock at night As usual. So one hundred and sixty is the highway that I use from Durango to Bayfield. And that highway, man if you just google that highway, it is notorious. for wildlife, It's got tons of peopleeople hitting deer, hitting milk, hitting various animals. It's a very heavily heavy wildlife road And there's many stretches of that road that have the wildlife fencing on both sides. Whether it does much, I don't know, but But yeah, so it's that kind of road and I do that every day and it's about twenty minutes So this time It felt different. It was And I don't, it was just weird. and it wasn't It wasn't just the whole drive. It was like a switch was turned on. Only it was o instead of a light feeling that I normally have when dri. it turned into just dark eerie K kind of an oz effect feeling
