You sit upright I know, I'm shooting myself up a bit. Well that's where Tilda Rice comes in. They've been at it for over fifty five years. They're proper experts. And you know they're basmat i rice. Hello and welcome to Bottoms Up The Weekly Wine Podcast with Alan Carr and Lee Pitt. Yes, like two old lushes still propping up the bar, we are not going anywhere, so you may as well pull yourself another one and stay tuned. Later on we're joined by the marvellous Gabby Lamb who invented her own wine when she couldn't find one suitable for her in the supermarket. Ugh, the dream. She invented her own wine. Invented her own wine . She's a boss, is it go boss? Oh good wow. Before that though, we've got a welcome drink as we always start with a lovely welcome drink and we can choose whatever we want, can't we? All right, we're not beholden to anyone when it comes , we're rebels. Yeah . And this is Arc Wine. I'm loving this wax seal. Do you like a wax seal? Because you know, I've got my own I've got my own wax seal for envelopes. It's quite a bougie thing. I gave you a birthday card once and it had a little L wax . Oh my god, yes, it's quite sinister. Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's quite nice . Yeah, I was getting poisoned pen letter from Henry VIII. You were So yeah, how do you get it off? Oh yeah, how do you get it off? I think you cut it. You cut it yeah. But if I gagging for a wine and I come back with that waxing on . Well, listen, we've got one here. This is just a show you can have these two. This is because I know you love a red. And one of the biggest things that I think this podcast has taught us is I like a pinot noir now. I was a bit like pin in a wild quite wishy washy, but we've had a few on here and they've actually been just as nice as a mold bit. And I will say this, I went out the other week, sorry the other day, I took my friends to Sunday Roast and it's about three o'clock in the afternoon and I wanted a red with the roast and I thought I don't want a heavy red. I want light and I went for a pinot noir and it was perfect. Oh he says as he pops a cork. I've got some tastes ing not for you here as well. Let me pour this for you. You let me be mother . Oh look at that, cheers . So this is our wines, all right? Oh, got gorgeous smell. Oh yeah, yeah, no . I am learning nose. Yes, you are . Oh God , is it nice? It's really nice . I like that . So apparently we've got a car amel in it . They put caramel down there, have a look. Caramel's not in there. You want to go again ? Okay, what are you getting from it? Come on, let's see if you've learned anything. Hello and welcome to Ark Wine Quiz with Alan Car . What are you getting ? Shit faced . That that is a consequence of drinking quite a lot. Please drink responsibly guys. You got anything else ? I'm getting it I'm getting like a caramel. It's not a fruit. It's not fruit. It's not fruit. It's not fruit. It's going down. That's funny because it's I'm in middle earth. The first thing is soft dark fruit, plums and cherry and blackberry. So actually, and it is fruit . Do you have a taste? Is it fruit? It's delicious, but it's not fru it . No, I tell you what you're getting. Okay, there is fruit on there, but you've got lingering tannins, tobacco and leather with black bariner spice. I'm getting leather. If you get leather or that ? No, but it's delicious. So this is I will say what is great about this is it's a suffici wine. Oh nice. Now I really do like it. It's from the Mount Farm Vineyards. This is called Arkwine and it is really nice. And I chose this because you love a label. Look at these labels, a bit of art on there. I know wonderful. Isn't it funny with Suffolk? 'Cause we have like a fish's gin didn',t we last year? A few weeks back now. And that area is so ripe and rich that it makes all this lovely gorgeous drink. And I think it's just gonna get better and better. How have you been firstly? How are you? Well, how are you? We're both in the same predicament. Well, I don't mean being gay . I guess I would say the same but different. No, we're moving house. We're moving house. No, listen, you're moving to a bedset. I'm moving to a castle . But I've still the same , but very different . Yeah, no . I haven't changed a mind . No No, no, moving is moving, whatever. And I'm like putting all my stuff in a bar. You get nostalgic have you found things? Yeah, I found like old , you know, old clippings about me and everything. And then you know what? I'm like, I'm such a narcissist. I'm like, oh my god, then I start reading it and then it's midnight and 'cause packing's a bit like, you know, when you say like a rabbit hole on the internet , when you start opening boxes, I might be old photos, old clippings, old things, old memories. It's weird isn't it? Yeah, dragging you'll be emotional when you leave your place. Yeah, I've realized I'm a bit of a whoarder because I'm trying to do that thing. Do you remember that book ages ago? I can't remember who wrote it, but it was she used to say it has to spark joy . If nothing sparks joy, you would get rid of it. Yeah, yeah. I've always been like envious of those people who , you know, live very minimally. I like to keep things or whatever. I found like I found it the other day in an unopened box of guess who I randomly bought . I don't know why I was trying to I just thought maybe one flashbacks to guess who do you know if you, were Claire, you were fucked. Why? Claire she was a woman. She had glasses and a hat. You could be out in three goes. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You could. Isn't it a woman? glasses. Matt Glare . But you know the first woman? Well, probably the first and last woman I ever fancied , Maria . From guess who? Yeah, do you remember? I can't remember what she looked like. She had a berettless dark hair . But then I started moving on to Alfred Really? When I realized I was gay. Yeah, when you go I was like four Maria and then I'm fed a bit of Alfred. Yeah . And then Bernard with his fruit pastel h at. Oh yes, of course. If I ever went on mastermind, it would be Gessoo Gessoo characters. Remember Anne with the big earrings? I don't familiarly enough. Okay , but my friend did make for his b oyfriend, he's a big fan of Rupaard's drag race. Yeah, and he got a guess board set and made his own drag queens on there, and it was called Guess Roo . And it's A wow. So it was like Oh wow , which was a good thing. But yeah, I feel like I've horded a lot of things. I've tried to be quite like thrown a lot of stuff out, thrown a lot of stuff out. Keep that shirt. thank you. This is new. Thank you very much. No , just asking I love a tile . But I am gonna I am gonna listening. I mean I'm young. I'm Jesus Christ. It's one lip match and you'll go up like a bloody finger. It's called fashion. Look it up. Yeah, it is called fashion. Yeah. Maybe try it sometime And isn't that gorgeous? Oh, I must contact Sanita . For anyone listening, he's got petals all over Well, I'm going to live on my own, that's what I'm going to say. I'm moving in on my own. Oh my gosh, I was a surprise . No one wants to live with it. No, no, no. I was going to be living on it because I live on my own all the time. It's a bit nerve wracking actually 'cause you're always a bit loud but I've lived on my loan lived on my loan. I've lived on my loan, my overdraft . Well, congratulations. I know you had a birthday this week . Oh yes , o Godh yes, it was my birthday or was it? It wasn't, was it? For anyone listening or watching, we've found the greatest hack of anyone's life, haven't we? So we go to this nice restaurant and I always do this old joke where I always go have all you want, love, I'll get it. It is your birthday and everyone goes, Haha . Well the lovely waitress actually happened to be lingering around . Yeah . And so right at the end, happ y birthday to you . She comes out with a chocolate cake and a candle in it and we're going , Oh my God your birthday is it? Like I see it coming towards Leanne and she plugs it down Happy birthday and then you 're not till July. I know but you really it's not my birthday . But they still went with it. I know. And that's what I mean. It's the best hack. If you ever want to get a free dessert and just help yes, help tell the restaurant or the waitress, it's your birthday check. Yeah, but you just you didn't even go with her and it's not my birthday 's not my birthday. Not gonna lie. Oh God, just take the king. No because I want to eat. I want to come back in July when it is my birthday . Yeah, but then they're going to think it's a hoax . But they're going to think we're too con artists . I will say I was particularly suffering that day, wasn't I? Yeah . You saw two sides of me. You saw the side where I pretended to be asleep yeah because I just I couldn't be bothered to Yeah, you are like that. I know we celebrate wine and everything and here but people don't know the other side of Lee misable Lee Morning after Lee in morning. Yes, yeah. No, that particular , you were quite tight lipped and you were pretending to sleep. I enjoyed the silence . I know. I was pretending to be asleep because I couldn't I couldn't do a lot because I was like I was still struggling through and I remember I was like Liam and the birthday came out. You were like Liza Manamelli. I know it really changed me immediately. I know yeah I know yeah but I remember being asleep and well being pretend asleep and hearing don't worry loves . He'll have a rose A and he'll soon per cup. How it didn't take me all my might to go for you then ? And was I right? You were so right. Yeah. Rose and a piece of birthday cake. I know and I was like who's coming out? I know. I know is it funny? And it' goods because I've just the sunshine. I feel like we're past the gloom, we're past the dew it has been a grim history moment. Weird and I feel like we're on it now. Yeah, yeah. What we're going to do for summer, it's going to be a weird summer for you because you are moving as well. I know you can't talk too much about it. No, no, I am moving. It's going to be sad because I've been in the house for fourteen years, but ready for a move. Ready for a change. I'm fifty this year. I know I don't look it. No, you don't. Thank you And you know what? I will say and it's hard, but you don't look you look good for your age. Well, it's healthy. And I know your lifestyle. I don't. So I'm in shock. It's healthy living . Why don't I look shitter ? I don't know. And you're not very good. You don't really have skincare routines. No, I don't I don't drink water. I hate water . Yeah, you don't really ate water, I don't exercise. I don't wash, I don't wash, I don't brush my teeth, I don't comb my hair. Yeah , yep . And for anyone watching , they agree . You basically made on a stick of the duck. No, you're not, you're not, you know. I want to talk about Devil Wears Prada Duh Thank you for I travel a lot . Can you believe it? Meryl Street, I read this, she doesn't really do sequels. Have you noticed ? She doesn't really do mama , apart from Mum and Meah two. Yeah, but she wasn't really in it. Was she Kramer versus Kramer two? This year? Sophie's choice. So fie's second choice is like jumping damn it Oh no , I'm wondering I'm a big deal . No, I'm desperate. I'm desperate there must be psych oice . Birth becomes her death becomes her show. Oh yeah. Anyway, no . So anyway, she does do sequels, but Tevil wears prize. Thanks for that inside a show if it's not She doesn't do sequels. I'm excited for this. This is one because have you ever had a bad boss? If you ever had, when I used to I used to my first ever job was glass cleaner, glass collector at this local pub . And then we got a new bus and she came in and she went, Just so you know, Alan, I'm a bitch and this cat's got claws like that. And I just used I was there just next to the machine cleaning the gloves and I'm like, That's nice dude . I don't know, I think she was aiming at the wrong people. I need to tell . It's like she's practiced that in the mirror. Yeah, I'm gonna come in. Just so you know, I'm a bitch yeah, people try and make their mask. Yeah, and I'm like, Oh, okay. I think she must have I was an alpha male or something because I was like, Oh I just whatever you do you love . Well I used to work at a place called Pleasure Island and it was a theme park in Clethops. Genuinely, I'm not making this a puzzle go along. It was a big theme park in Clethopes. So they put me on the hyperblaster. Sorry , they put me on the frog hopper. What's it called the finger blaster? No, that's the hyperblaster. They put me on the frog hopper kids ride. I was fuming. Because if you're high no, thank you . The kids could get on, but I couldn't . No. So no, do you know what was funny? The frog happer, all kids, but in the middle, an adult would sit in the middle. So there was a seat for an adult and you just used to go up and down . Anyway , I had the worst boss ever. He was so awful . And towards the end, that's before I got the job at Tesco. So then I got the job at Tesco and I said, Bye bye pleasure island, see you later. So I got taken into this room to be disciplined over something so stupid because I put my foot on the ride when I wasn't mentioned. You put your foot on the frog hopper when you weren't mentioned. Exactly. My god. I know. So they take me in. They do this thing and I did this big speech. I said, You know what I'm done with Pleasure Island. I'm out of here. Oh my God. I did this rousing speech. Drop, yep, Mike drop. I said, I will never want to see you people again. I walked out, okay? It must have been about seventeen at the time. I walked out . Five minutes later, I realized I'd left the padlock on my locker that you had to buy . So I had to knock back on the door and I had to say, excuse me, sorry, I've left my bad lock and it was my dance. So I had to give . So you went back to Pleasure Island. I went back to Pleasure Island. I said, Hi, sorry, I know I've just stormed out. I need my padlock. So it was quite embarrassing . Yeah, but yeah, that's Pleasure Island. And it's closed down now and Tesco is still going. Cheers . Displeasure, Alan. Yeah . Yeah, good one, Alan. Bottoms up . You have one new message. Translating . Joining us now is a lady who loves a glass of wine but didn't like the hangovers no so she invented her own wine good for her girl It'.s Gabby L ao . Gabby, I am super excited for this because and we're going to get onto your wine later on but we're going to talk about low alcohol or what they call now mid strength. Because that's a trending thing now, isn't it? People are talking about mid strength. Yeah. Absolutely. And I've seen a lot of comments online from the podcast and whatnot. We talk about wine. We're also, you know, branching into spirits and things like that . And there is a lot of chat where it's like, oh, I don't really drink a lot or I like to have a drink here and there. And midstrength is almost like the meeting in the middle. People who don't wanna go teethal , but also don't want to go like full on for it. And so I'm obsessed with this already. Now, I should stress that this isn't your brand or anything like that, but you're in the kind of mid strength world, aren't you? I am yeah. And midstrength is definitely it's having a movement at the moment. Yeah. Midstrength movement, which is really exciting . And it's because people's behaviors have changed. People aren't drinking as much , and when they do drink , they want really high quality drinks. And this is where midstreams really works because it hits both those points. You can enjoy a really delicious full flavoured drink just with less alcohol and less calories really important that's true. And also like I always find like sometimes in the week okay I might get home and I might fancy a gin and tonic alright and then afterwards I'll be like maybe I 'll have another or I'll have another and then I wake up. I don't necessarily have a skip . No, I don't necessarily have a hangover , but I feel maybe a bit like a little bit more tired. So this mid strength is where you still kind of hit that mark that you want to hit, but you're not necessarily waking up with a bit like, oh, I had three full drinks last night. Yeah, exactly. And you can you can enjoy your evening , not worry about am I drinking too much? Should I have this second glass? And then you can still wake up, go to your pilates or whatever in the morning, deal with your screaming kiss, whatever it might be. Please, love work work, the room describing our life Gonna read the room more like and not. So tell me what's your worst sang over? What inspired you? You have been sick in how did you know sick and a bin ? love going to Ibeitha, that's my thing. You're probably girl. Well , not so much now. I've got three young kids. Right. But I used to love I used to love going out, socializing, drinking , but you can't do it anymore. It's a hangover I struggle with them now. I used to be able to get out of bed. I can't do it anymore. Nice. Well, what I've just poured you here is it's from a company called Quarter Proof , all right? And this is a London Dry Gin. So when we say mid strength, because I used to have quite a lot of I think it was Cleanco, is it the Spencer Yes. And I used to say Yeah. It was yeah. And sometimes when I wanted the idea of a drink but didn't necessarily want to, you know, again have three I do think I don't know if you agree with this. I do sometimes think the idea of a drink is better than the actual drink itself . As in like , you know, when people the one person's not drinking, that's why something like No Seko is good or something like that because you don't want to be the one with a little glass of water being like , you want to still feel slightly included or still kind of market as a celebration . When we say mid strength, is it because so fifteen percent alcohol this is saying? Is it because generally is that half? So mid strength generally we say is half the half alcohol of the full strength alternative . Okay . And midstrength is usually half the calories as well of its full strength alternative because alcohol is calorific. So it's basically like you are meeting in the middle with that. Yeah, that is delicious. Yeah, it's really delicious. So this is fifteen percent ABV . So most gins can range up to thirty five forty. So have you ever had Tanker Ax? Not for me. Why is you got to eat hell? We know you like a wine, but what would your spirit of choice be? Oh, this is for me. Genotonic, all the way, yeah, love it. And the great thing with this is your it's a London dry gin. So it's very juniper forward . You're getting all the citrus punch and yeah saving on calories and alcohol. And also we've got here we've, got some be ers as well, the lago here , which is two point one percent ABV. So again, all let's ever go. Like a lago. I don't know why . I don't know. Someone cough. We're laughing . They choked with shock. I love the ladder. You don't want a glass, do you want a pale ? You have a pale ? No, I don't want a what do you want? What have we got? We've got pale here. Abermber. Do you like Am? Yeah. Love that. Don't know. I've not tasted that. I love this pale. You know that what's that one you're saying, Spencer Matthews, Cola ago? Isn't it funny the psychology of alcohol? I remember having one of those and I started slurring because your brain thinks it is, isn't it? I was like zero alcohol. Yeah. If someone served me, then that's weird. I'll say yes, brain, yeah. Like I am now. It was a placebo. If someone served me this two point five percent API, I would not know it had any less alcohol. And I wonder whether that's the thing because I will say this. What is it? When I've when I've had like a non alcohol beer, which I sometimes have yeah , for me it's like a fizzy drink. It's like whereas that might still feel like so you still kind of hit in the sides but not necessarily bombard ing your side. And it's all as you say, it's all about the ritual, enjoying the moment. And alcohol gives you a little bit of a buzz still and so you can get all of that just not the kind of negative effects that is full strength . Will you still want fight a a or kebab after this ? Well, it depends who you are really. You need to need double the amount . They also do tequila. Yes. Should we have a shot of tequila? Should I have a shot of tequila. I got does it smell like a te quila as well. If it looked like a little should just have it at the bottle Oh go on then does it give you that ? Does it give you that kind of does it give that salaga or it's got that ? Oh yeah, but it doesn't it doesn't have that thing where you like. You know? Chose the game? What? That's a good thing . Do you want a bit? We can't put it in love. I got a cow . Give her a cow on, Gabby. Gabby love, have a swing from this. No . Oh, Gabby, no . Look, I 've been in a house for her. No, she can't treat you. She goes to bloody eyed beef. Oh , she's probably wrapping machine. She holds us out of a bucket. Ready? Go on, Gabby . That's nice. Oh, bless you, Gabby. Gabby lambed to the slaughter . Now listen , it's all right talking about this, but we've all had a sip and that's lovely. And also got the kick. It hasn't like it hasn't got the Yeah, thank you . Oh my god, okay, all right. So shit face. I know you're saying that this is low alcohol, but I got four drinks on the go and I'm drinking out of a bottle of tequila. And we're meant to be like, Hey guys, drink responsibility . This one with no hangover. I'm gonna have the worst hangover of my life midstream. I've got two beers. He's got a midstrength hangover. Yeah, but I'll tell you what might help that. Moving on to wine . Because listen, we're in the presence of an entrepreneur . You are an entrepreneur. Thank you. Entrepreneur. Entrepreneur. I'm being French. I'm using my French oral. okay. All right Because I want to talk about your wine. I'm really interested in this origin story of how you came to be and how your wine came to be. So I tell you what we're gonna do, we're gonna clear this up and we're going to bring in your wine and we're going to talk all about mid strength wine. Does that sound good? Great . All right . So we have cleared the table and we're back with lovely Gabby Lamb with your own wine called six percent wine. Yeah. Presumably that is because it's six percent. Exactly. God, you're good. Thank you, no flies on me. So Gabby, talk to us Well, I always want to know like when people come on this podcast, what you did before this, okay? So where did you start? What did you used to work as? Were you always in the world of wine or was it? No, I wasn't. So my I was in kind of law, the corporate world, legal world. finance? Because I wanted to do law. Oh, really? Yeah. I did all the studying. What did you study? You're gonna do are you in corporate law. Yeah, why did my LPC to your LP ? No. Under law could you ? Well, I only did it at A levels, but I realized thank you I realized like 'cause my teacher, my teacher overall , my teacher said to me 'cause I used to want to be a barrister. Oh, you'd be very good at that. You're quite judgy, isn't it? Yeah. He said that when he said you don't have you won't commit yourself to the academia over it. So much academia and he said well I basically think I wanted to go into a courtroom and be like I put it to you that your client's a whore, a liar and a who , you know, and it's not like that, is it? I think you'd watch too much judge judy and legally blonde . Not quite like that no . But no, I still was in finance as well for many years. And wine was just a bit of a side passion project like just to keep me sane . When you say passion project though, as in, you just enjoyed drinking it or were you working on I enjoyed drinking it and wanted to know more. Like I thought it was crazy that you know me and my husband used to love drinking wine and just didn't know anything about it . So started learning about it on the side of my job and then started doing like wine tastings for my friends, family. And then it just grew into its own business doing wine tasting. And then COVID hit . And we became one of the first wine tasting companies to go online. So we had loads and loads of clients were doing about seventeen wine tastings a week in COVID. It was crazy . And that's really the time when we started to think about, you know, is there a different way that we can enjoy wine because it's so high in ABV. And what I will say is I do think with things like champagne and fizz and prosecco and stuff, they have cracked it with zero percent , but I've never really had a wine that has gone . Oh, it's given me that. And I wonder whether the lacking of any ABV makes that taste a bit crap because they've never really crapped for me red wine, I've never I've tried the zero and the red wine has never really it. It does he might have ribena. No offense. We might as well have ribina. Because when you remove alcohol , you have to add sugar and then you usually get quite an overly sweet wine. Techniques have changed, and there's definitely better zero percent out there now. But at the time when we were thinking about this project there wasn't anything that hit the mark. And I love wine. I wanted something that tastes tasted like wine so we could enjoy the wine ritual , all of that kind of thing. All right, shall we have a taste? Because I haven't this yet. So this is your Sauvignon Blanc six percent Sauvignon. So are you saying midstrength? Is this usually Sauvignon Blanc? You're looking at around twelve percent . Yeah, no white is usually around twelve to thirty. Okay. Sauvignon Blanc. We produce our wine in Bordeaux , so really well loved grapes, French sauvignon blanc and it's got everything that you would expect. It's really nice. Yeah, very zesty. And you don't if you handed me that, I would not be like that doesn't that's lacking six percent. Yeah. No, that's lovely. Well you, thank. We try to keep all those elements that you get from the Sauvignon Blanc. You've kind of got the flint element, the minerality, the herbaciousness , everything you would expect, but it's just got less alcohol. Yeah , which is great. I mean, yeah, you do not for a minute think you're missing out on a proper wine. That's delicious. But talk me through it then. So okay, you've gone to the wine producer or whatever you've done. You've gone right. I want a Sauvignon Blanc. I want it half the percentage, half the calories . How do you do it? So I would say it never really was that clear cut. We didn't set out thinking, right? We want to make a six percent Seven Yeon Banlc and this is what we want it to taste like. It very much was something that happened gradually over a long period of time and started with like, you know, can we get a good tasting of alcohol wine? What do you need to make it taste and feel like wine. And we realized that you need to keep the alcohol in, how much alcohol, that then became a whole experimental period. Like, how do we get six percent? We tried all the ABVs. So did you go lower than six and go now? We need to Yeah, we saw it. I was too for that because that's a proper why I love her in it. You could have gone, yeah, I love it. You go, No, I still need that little I need that little come on, you know, I've had a hard day at work or you know I'm at someone's birthday. I love that you've gone. No, come on, let's be real about this. Yeah, exactly. And you want that buzz , that little buzz. You do. And that is why just having a little bit of alcohol, you get that buzz. It gives the wine its structure in its body. So you can't even taste it. It's got less alcohol. Yeah, but we didn't want to remove too much alcohol that we then had to add loads of sugar. So how long did this take in general from start to finish to find the thing for nesting it? So yeah, we came up with the idea in twenty twenty one and then it was a very gradual process and we had to find someone who could make our wine who had and this is a French wine. Yeah, so we landed in Borde, but before then we were we kind of trawled everywhere. We were in Spain , Germany, Portugal, trying so many different suppliers, so many different techniques. So it took a long time. Do you remember those apprentice moments where you had to go in and sell this to people, did you have that? Because it must have been something I didn't believe in. Yeah, now I do. Yeah, I feel like I feel like I'm on the apprentice all the time . Do you feel like you're on the apprentice now . A little bit, yeah. Alan you 're not fired or hired. He was on the celebrity apprentice. Oh that's the first celebrity to get voted off. Oh, why are we writing off? Because I was rubbish. No , he I remember seeing a clip and he said he wanted to save you from the idiots around you. But didn't you cry? I did cry because you only watched it. Have you watched the apprentice? Yeah, I love it. Yeah, I just I did all the cliches. You went, why shouldn't I fire you? And I went I don't know, I don't know. And it was really weird because you take the piss out of the people on the apprentice but I said exactly what they said. I said, This is not the last you've heard of me and got in the taxi. I'm like, alright, Dick . But you know what? They sitched me up, do you that? They was I on my lunch break, a proper lunch break and I was picking up rubbish off the floor and they filmed me and I didn't know it. And then they put that dud e Oh yeah, and then you've got Jonathan Ross going by sell, we need it now. Then I'm like And I was on my lunch break picking up rubbish. You were doing a good. That makes me a good person Gabby. Okay, so that's the white. What's the red ? I would say the red for me is the test red. Yeah . Now look at this gorgeous bottle of red , fifty calories a glass. That's amazing. You can have it in that glass. I'll get you a different glass. All right, I brought some glasses down here. Let's get started. So I think what's really important to and I love the font as well. No one says what percentage is yeah? Well we always talk about font. How much did you look at, you know, how much did you talk about marketing and the label and stuff? Yeah, we wanted to own the space. So mid strength as a category didn't exist. It wasn't even I've never heard by the way of mid strength before today. Yeah. So generally happened. And it didn't exist. So we didn't just have to create a wine. We had to create a category . And that's why it's so important. I'm doing four. Oh for my imaginary boyfriend He said he'd be here right now . Never turns up to see. I can't wait for the end of the episode where I've got a table empty and still one glass of wine. Well, now there's fifty calories, I can have another one. Yeah, cheaper one . I can 't steam. Why not? twelve percent. So this is a Merlin Cabinet Sauvignon blend . You're talking about pinot noir. This drinks more like a pinot noir. It's very light in style , but the most important thing it's got the mouth fill and all the tannins and all the flavours that you'd expect from a wine . So this is kind of very red berry , red cherry , a bit of blackberry, and you've got a little smoky finish . Oh yeah, that smokiness does come through but if it was that does taste more like a pinot noir to me so would you can you not call it a pinot noir because it's not? No , we have to call it by the grapes that is made with. So but I think you know it's bordeux grapes are really well loved, really well known. We've got a Merlay cabinet Suvignon , but it is a midstream so it's lighter in style, but it really suits those occasions where you want to drink midstrength. So it might be mid week, it might be at lunchtime, summer's evening. That's where my life really comes into play. This is where I so I will get back and I'll get home and often I'll have done a gig or I'll have done something and I'll think oh I'd love a glass of red. So I pour a glass of red and then I go one more and I start reading my book and then maybe even after that I might have another one . Again, like I've said to you , I'll wake up the next day. I'll be fine, but I'll be like I had a few glasses of red. This is what I need because I'm meeting in the middle. I'll have still probably the same amount , but I'm not having either calories . And I have seen a few comments online about my weight. You're not chunky . Just ignore them . Ignore all of them. Is it you? Is it you on your fake account? Oh please. I don't have that many fake accounts . Only got one pair of hands like I've seen the comments . You've got all your imaginary boyfriends to message into the show I've got a trolling factory massive jugs. Lots of people these days are drinking flexibly . Do you know what that is? No, tell us all about it. Is that where you 're like, you're lunging forward as you can do like you get your foot and you can drink it with your foot yeah. Love it. Something like that. But drinking flexibly is when people are looking to moderate their alcohol consumption . And so they'll do it by drinking flexing how they drink. So they might choose days where they don't have alcohol or they might when they they go out, might choose that as well. twenty ninth of Feb ruary. twenty ninth, thirtieth and thirty first of february . He loves the leap Name that. Leapie that yes . Now there's something missing from the table . Rose . Rose . Now we love a rose. Did you notice that? Where's the rose? La Rose Very good question. So we're having a rose. It's coming out in the summer. It's coming out in the name. So why is it taking you longer than the white and the red out of interest? She's busy. No pressure on her. She's got three kids. No but what I mean is it's none of your business. No, which you don't mean it's rose egg. Do you know what? Gabby, I think you're doing well. Thanks. Thank you. Just ignore him. Where's my rose egg? No , Gabby. You know what? I'm genuinely thrilled and I'm so excited for the rose . Can we could you come back in the summer months and we'll talk about Rose will do a rose? We'll have a rose day party. Yes. Bougie Gabby. Available on Acado. Yeah, correct. We can buy our wines on Accoord. Very exciting. That's going to just get bigger and bigger, isn't it? I can see why it's going to hit all the shelves. I hope so. Ecado is great because they're very forward thinking and they understand where the trend is going and it definitely is how people want to drink today . So we're just filling that hole, you know, in the marketplace. And you can also go to our website six percent. Follow us on socials. Amazing. And that's the thing.
