The free agency, the NBA has begun. so people are starting to move around. Something that broke a little earlier today, so yesterday for listeners, the Celtics have signed Mitchell Robinson. Free agent center, Mitchell Robinson, fresh off of winning the NBA title with the New York Kicks has agreed to a three year forty seven point four million dollars deal to sign with the Celtics with a player option in the third season. Isabella Thoughts I mean, it's sad in the sense that like, you know, he was with the team for a really long time.. He did play an important role, but I'm not gonna to lie. I kind of feel like you can replace him. Oh. Oh damn That's crazy. Damn, look how quickly she moves on. Did you feel that?? like I meaning like I wasn't like this is not a trade where I'm like, oh my Godd. like not to tell on you, but I was with you when you found out and you seemed a lot more sad hour ago. Well because I've had three I' had tim. She's like, listen, I don't even care. Guy liked Trump and it wasn't for me. So I which was my real part of it too, I was like, when I learned more about his personal life, I was like 'cause my initial reaction was like, Guy can't shoot free throws in I mean love President Trump so much that it's weird that he hopped in like a comment section was like, I will play harder when he's out there. And so that was my initial reaction. And then everybody was like, that's basketball dumb of you. whichich I'm willing to accept that I am. So it's a good ad, Chris, you're excited about Mitchell Robinson to the Celtics Yeah, we needed to add another big m to the rotation. We had Nas Kida and Luca Gaza is sort of the two main guys takaking up that mantle. We needed a third piece. I think Mitchell Robinson for the price is pretty good. offensively he's not going to bring you too much, but we don't really need that from him.' more of a defensive presence. So that's sort of what we were looking for this off season. That's what we got. So I think it's it's a pretty decent Have fun with Hakamitch next season. Yeah That' diapers just diaper shoot. So I'll just tell you my initial thought when I saw what they got for him. So the LA Clippers have traded Kaoi Leonard back to the Toronto Raptors where he was before. That was where they won the NBA Championship with Kai there. What year was that twenty nineteen. twenty nineteen, before before the big U And so this is what they traded for. They got Brandon Ingram, Grady Dick, two unprotected first round picks, a first round pick swap and two second rounders That's a lot of stuff. My initial reaction was Kohi Lanonard thirty five years old. Now I'm not saying that's all high quality stuff, but that's a is that not a lot It's a lot for a guy who historically or at least in the past you know, half decade hasn't been able to stay particularly healthy. Yeah. If Kowal Lenet is healthy and he can bring what we know Kowal Linet is capable of, then I think it's a good move for the Raptors. but That's a huge if They went' Really, really all out for this guy who we don't know if we'll ever be able to see him play more than fifty games in a. Y, he played sixty games for the Raptors in the eighteen, ninetenth season, which led them to the championship, but since then he has spent seven injury plaged seasons with the Clippers and played sixty or more games only twice So he's not out there a lot. And then also the thing no one's talking about because I guess it doesn't matter any anymore. But I got a friend who won a pulitzer prize for exposing the fact that they maybe circumvented the salary cap by giving him extra money for a no show job through a company called Aspire and Are we going do or aspiration? Are we gonna do anything with that? Is anything? Wh why' going to say, can I just leave the country? C I can I can I just get out of here? Is that going clear everything out of the way? I just that seems kind of, um So the I guess last we heard of it was that Balmer cllippers executives and Balmer's the owner of the cllippers and he's richer he's the richest of the NBA owners by a lot seems important Clippers executives and Leonard have been interviewed as part of the league's investigation, which remains open U And NBA Commissioner Adam Silver was most recently asked about the investigation earlier this month ahead of the finals, and he said the investigation is quote Far along and he would not provide a timeline for its expected completion So, u He's on the Raptors now and that's cool U John Morant, traded to the trailblazers, NBA all star, two time NBA all star, pardon me, Jon Morant has been traded from the grizzlies, Memphis Grizzlies to the Portland Trailblazers for Grant and Murray Um Marance's time's been a little Tough. Yes, Chris? A little Yeah He has had bunch of issues all stemming towards his love of guns. Yeah. He flashed a gun on multiple IG lives. Real guns and actual Real guns and actual guns and multiple IG lives. Because he's also gotten in trouble for finger gun gesture. Yeah. multiple games also. Just yeah, puts his love of guns ahead of his NBA career, it seems. That's sort of the biggest issue with John Morant has dealt with some injuries as well, but a lot of it has been U gun related slash He sort of took some time away for personal reasons. read into that, whatever you'd like, but Yeah, hasn't been the partarticularly great last years for Joh Morant, who was looking like a superstar in his first couple of years in the NBA Mhm And it is interesting because America Do does love a gun So it's like u Where's the NRA on this? Why aren't they going, hey, allow Joh Morant to point his fingers because They never don't make a say it out loud Why the NRA is not defending Joh Morin? No I yeah, that's what I meant. Yeah The it's just funny when they choose to be quiet and when they go Hey, guns are allowed. everyverybody should be U But of course the big news in and it's not even really news because it hasn't really happened yet. But we've been talking about LeBron James and how, you know, willill he retire? Will he keep playing? Will he play with the Lakers? He's going to continue playing and he has informed the Lakers that he is outudi He is leaving And so we do not know where he's going to go. Obviously the warriors have said they're trying to get him. They've been very clear about that. but I do believe that blocked on the Anthony Davis frront today. Did I see that? I don't think the wizards are really open to rading him at this stage. That's what it seems like. Okay. So that at least that part of their plan seems to be crumbling. Other teams that I've heard that are in the LeBron James business, the heat The cavaliers because that would be a return to either of those teams. And then today I heard the spurs is interesting and I'm missing one Tets Somebody called into the radio show today and said, Why wouldn't whyy can't he be on the rockets? I'll hang up and listen. I don't know, dude. Here's the thing we're gonna be doing this U It's summer. This is going to be until he makes his decision we're going to be doing this all over again, which made us think about one of our favorite segments here on casuals. It's a recurring segment, and it's called too old for this Am I too old for this? LeBron is making us wait for decision I guess this would be the decision three point zero. Would it be the decision four point zero if we include the liquor sponsorship that he last year? Remember when he teased this like, something's coming and it was just like The VSOP. I don't even remember What it was. So now is he too old for this? How old iss LeBron James turning forty two this year. Okay. Is he too old for where am I going to play? I feel like kinda Just tell us You know, peopleeople are waiting decisions based off of your decision. So can we just not do this? Even just yesterday, yesterday being Mond Tuesday Even just yesterday when the news came out, watching all these shows do their like. breathless coverage of LeBron watch was too much for me. And so it's like, I can't do this. ye, exactly. I can't do this for another weeks When do we think he's going to come out and let us know I texted the NBA radio guys. I was like, just tell me it's not going to be today. So at least thisgment will die and they're like, hell no No, there's I wish it was gonna be today Chris, do we have a timeline? you have any thoughts? No idea, but he's probably going to try to milk it for all its's worth. It's the exact reason why we said a couple of months ago that he was not going to retire in this offseason because he didn't get his final goodbye to the NBA. This is a dude that loves the limelight. He loves being shown love, I understand it U, but You know, he's going to milk all these things for all their worth Where do you want him to go T bed to bed my hurt. Exactly. I say yes, he's too old for this. Who else I mean the Nicks if we're saying like fantasy worldorld, where do we want him to go Why not be interesting I'm rooting for chaos, man. Isabella doesn't even seem to want that. Did you see Yeah I kind of don't.. Kind of want him without him Yeah. We don't need him. Exactly. I will say the third thing he cared about was his son and I noticed he made the announcement right after His son got his money guaranteed, right? Didn't he just resign And once Bronnie got locked in, he was like, great I'll be leaving, which, you know, if you're gonna Npo, that's how you do it. Moving on in amm I too old for this? We've got Serena Williams She yeah, that's Isabella's tone. If you hadn't heard the news, sort of tells you everything you need to know. She lost in her return to singles tennis She lost to. Is it just Maya joint? I don't know if there's an Australian pronunciation of that But what a cool Ma joint. That's what I that's what I I can burn my a joint by the way. I'll. Maya joint is what I smoke, you know what. But anyway, she lost to her in three sets. Okay. after what's that Good slice up in the straight sets. Yeah, true That's so true b side. She said, it was really great to be back at Wimbledon. I never expected to be here. The atmosphere was amazing. Walking out was amazing. I def definitely relished it and missed it and enjoyed the moment more than anything. Her status for women's doubles at Wimbledon is uncertain because she suffered a knee injury in her loss against joint, which is a bit that's like a tough Your knee is a joint, so that's tough. Serena Williams, forty four. yearsars of age. Yeah. Fortunately, Father time comes for us all in the patriarchy And so he it's it does feel like play tennis at this level. That age you're having fun, go for it. If you're getting invited to these things and you're having fun Do it for as long as you want. That's right. I's trying with like I'm not a huge tennis fan, but I'm a huge golf fan. Part of the appeal of like the master is one of the special things about it is that you you get to play forever. Like you get to show up and play the masters. I know there's a different like you can be competitive in golf longer because it's not lateral movement and the musc, you know, the strain on your muscles is not the same But I think if Serena can be competitive, I would love to like see her go out there as long as she wants to You know, like maybe we're taking a spot away from somebody else who could be in Wimbledon. But this is also Serena Williams. This isn't like a really good tennis player. This is one of the greatest of all time tennis players. And if Wimbledon is like the one chance a year, we get to see her a couple more times Sure, let's make Wimbbleledton like really special and let Serena have one more shot as long as she feels like she can go. Like she didn't get double bageled here. She was a competitive match. She lost, but like held her own Okay, counterpoint. What if she just got absolutely nasty at Pickleball? What if she just pivoted a different sport and played the sport that they say you can play until you're Ancient. They're like this is great. It's no less stress on your. Maybe she hates pickleball as much as you do. Yeah, maybe What if she becomes a coach? That tennis coach, that would be cool. Although not everybody who's that good at it is good at coaching it True. because sometimes you go, I think I've heard I can't remember just give me the fucking racket. Yeah, I can't remember specifically who it was, but I remember somebody being very good at, I think it was basketball. and when they tried to coach, they were like, whyy are you doing it right? Just do it like this. And it was like, well because they're not as talented as you It came naturally so if it comes naturally to you, it can be hard to teach that to somebody else. And so I'm not make I don't know specifically about Serena, mayaybe that is something she wants to do Ted Williams was notoriously a bad manager. it was just so natural for Ted Williams. What divides this country brings us together. Now, I'll be the first person to say the Red sox suck. I gave up on them. Usually I would keep them on in the background for a while. They had enough games that pissed me off early in this year that I was like, I'm not doing this to myself And so, you know, but whenever the socks play the Yankees, I tune back in. Sure. And this time. Yeah, that paid off for me. because it looked like you guys were maybe going to win that fourth game. But then you did not And so you four game sweep of the sockx by the Yankees, which was that when you guys got knocked out of first place? Yes. So there was a nice the Yankees had a little bit of a fumble and then they kind of got it back. whereere they caught the raise, they were back in first place and now as we stand right now, which could be changing in the moment in the wrong direction, the Yanes direction Yankees are on a six game losing streak and the raays are on a six game winning streak Tough. So that's as that's that's basically as much as you can see So the raays are in first place followed by the Yankees, then the blue Jays. Yes then the Oriols and then the Rd Sox are thirtyteen games back. So it's not like I mean, they could still turn the whole thing around. there's still, but, you know, I don't Yeah It's going to happen given the injuries we're dealing with and the fact that we don't have anybody on our team. Like I don't know about you Yeah. but like In theory, there's hope that as we have the two weeks or so leading up to the All star break If you're an American League team and you have like an eight and two Ten games You're involved. Yeah. So it's a fun thing for fans. It's also like torture for fans because you're watching a team That isn't good But they're not dead Which I guess that kind of has torture.
