O Lord open our li ps , I thou thou shalt proclaim your grace , send your Holy Spirit upon us . And Lord using half from high Blessed are you, Creator God, to you be praise and glory for ever . As your spirit moved over the face of the waters, bringing light and life to your creation. Pour out your spirit on us today, that we may walk as children of light, and by your grace reveal your presence. Blessed be God , Father, Son, and Holy Spirit . Blessed be God for ever . The night has passed and the day lies open before us . Let us pray with one heart and mind . As we rejoice in the gift of this new day , so may the light of your presence, O God, set our hearts on fire with love for you, now and for ever . Amen . Glory to the Father and to the Son , and to the only seed as it was in the beginning is now and shall be forever The first reading is from the book of Genesis beginning at chapter 11, verse 1 . Now the whole earth had one language and the same word s, and as they migrated from the east they came upon a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there, and they said to one another, Come, let us make bricks and burn them thoroughly . And they had brick for stone and bitumen for mortar. Then they said, Come let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, otherwise we shall be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. The Lord came down to see the city and the tower which mortals had built, and the Lord said , Look , they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. Nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and confuse their language there, so that they will not understand one another's speech. So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off of all the earth . The Spirit of God fills the whole world . Hallelujah . I will take you from the nations , and gather you from all the countries . I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses , a new heart I will give you, and put a new spirit within you , and I will remove from your body the heart of stone , and give you a heart of flesh . You shall be my people , and I will be your God . Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and shall be for ever . Amen . The Spirit of God fills the whole world . The second reading is from the Acts of the Apostles, beginning at chapter 10, verse 34. Then Peter began to speak to them . I truly understand that God shows no partiality, but in every nation, anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. You know the message he sent to the people of Israel preaching peace by Jesus Christ. He is Lord of all . That message spread throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John announced, how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, how he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him . We are witnesses to all that he did both in Judea and in Jerusalem . They put him to death by hanging him on a tree. But God raised him up on the third day and allowed him to appear, not to all the people, but to us who were chosen by God as witnesses, and who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one ordained by God as judge of the living and the dead. All the prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name . While Peter was still speaking, the Holy Spirit fell upon all who heard the word . The circumcised believers who had come with Peter were astounded that the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out even on the Gentiles, for they heard them speaking in tongues and extolling God . Then Peter said, Can anyone withhold the water for baptizing these people who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have . So he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ . Then they invited him to stay for several days. Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your people , and kindle in us the fire of your love . All who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God and fellow heirs with Christ . Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your people. Renew the face of your creation, Lord, pouring on us the gifts of your Spirit , and kind le in us the fire of your love . For the creation waits with eager longing for the glorious liberty of the children of God . Holy Spirit, come upon us God , who as at this time, taught the hearts of your faithful people, by sending to them the light of your Holy Spirit . Grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgment in all things, and evermore to rejoice in His holy comfort. Through the merits of Christ Jesus our Savior, who is alive and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Being made one by the power of the Spirit , as our Saviour taught us, so we pray . Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us to day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us . Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil . For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever . Amen . May the spirit kindle in us the fire of God alone . Let us bless the Lord Hallelujah, Hallelujah .
