Let's meet everybody individually, alphabetically by first name as U He won last week in a bloody battle with his own brother. It's Jeff Tate. Hey Jeff. Hey everybody, How's it going? What's up doing? going all right. U, So the last time we talked I forget how much of it was on the show and how much was off the show but Um It sounds like you must have probably seen Toy Story five by this point Yeah, I saw this morning. Mhm I don't feel like anybody on this planet that, you know, goes to movies with the kids Uh is gonna avoid that movie, like you have to see it Yeah, you have to. And it's good Do they want to see it again Yeah, they're always they're huge fans of whatever they just saw. Wait, so like anytime you see something, they'd rather just see that again than try something else Yeah, yeah, like They'll go home and start wondering when they can wal like kind of probablyd be upset that they can't watch it again right now. Yeah, how soon can we see that shit again because they like We saw hoppers in the theater and then u They've probably seen it six times since they came Uh, it came out to so I bought it for them and then like now it's on Disney pllus and they just watch it all the time Wow I mean, I guess as those things go, it's not a bad one to have. I haven't seen it, but It's one that I actually kind of want to see of the u of the kids stuff.m more I'm more interested in that than twentyoy Story five to be honest It was I liked it better than Toy Story five, but it's just I just they just the kids into the Toy Story movies stay the same. They're all still like eight years old and now I'm almost fifty. L It doesn't really I don't really know I guess I'm like, I guess I'm supposed to relate to Woody. I mean, I hope they hang up the whole series with if if we ever lose the Great Wallace Sewn because u You know, if the dinosaur iss dead, that's probably a good time to give give it a rest Yeah we already lost we already lost mister and mrisses Potato Now's they got new voices for him Joe Kuzak is retired from everything but playing the voice of a toy that's supposed to be a teenage girl Wow. I love her though. I love her though.'m sorry to drag her but it is interesting that As I understand it, the current movie, she doesn't really sound like a child anymore No. They should they should get RFK to do the voice of a light ye Uh, M appearing on this show for the very first time. herer album is called White Trash Cederella. Hello Lace Laraby. Hey Dg. Hey guys, Jeff Nathan. good to hear y'all again What itice He. So you have a podcast too? May I used to. I haven't had it in in a couple years now, but yeah, I had a four and a half year podcast. We did like three hundred something episodes. so. cast. It was called cheaties. I think it might still exist somewhere on the internet I think that's I think it does. I think that that's part of the fun about saying you used to have a podcast is it's still there. You know, we don't say I used to have comedy albums Right, Right. They're all still available Exactly. You know, and I don't know if it would actually bring you any money, but At the very least, if they check out your podcast and listen to more Obviously the plugs on the podcast, the dates will be all wrong But they'll find you. they'll come find you Hey well, if I was to plug anything, skip the podcast because the thing I actually do make money from is that album. So let's go check out White Tash Cinderella. I'm glad I led with that. Yeah. That was so smart of me You're so smart. Are you How are you with movie trivia, Aace You know? Oh man, I started to get nervous doing this because I generally like to think that I'm really good at it. and my girlfriend is younger than me, so I know so much more than she does. U som I feel really smart in the house, but then now that I'm talking to you three dudes, I'm like, fuck, I might not know as much as I should. Well, let me just say that the show is basically the idea is because I don't know the skill levels of my guests generally before they come on. So the basic idea is that the questions and the games are H. easy enough for the people who aren't good at it to get luck have have luck on their side. Okay. but still so hard that people that are even really good at it are going to struggle Oh, okay, good. All right, well, I'll be somewhere I'll be somewhere in the middle then, I'm guessing It's designed to make the, you know, the worst the person with the least sk have still have a chance Okay. here I do All right, so I'm still in the game. I'm still. That's one way to look at it. third, Well, good luck, have fun Dot. Our third guest It's his Third visit to the show. He has a podcast the day with which I screw up every time. Chubby Bohemios It's Nathan Ln, Hey, Nathan Hello Doug What part of the country are you phoning this in from I'm in I'm in Trinidad, Colorado. so that that's what I thought That's what I thought it was. I said it out loud to my girlfriend. I said, He's in Trinidad, Colorado. and I'll never I can't get comfortable saying that That's all right. You don't have to say it that often. So is there a Pueblo anywhere near the other Trinidad? Yeah be Trinidad and Pueblo Pueblo is an hour north of Trinidad. Yeah, that's what I thought I was just trying to,, you know, rearrange I was redistricting. A town called town. ye, Pueblo. Um, You're a fierce competitor Yeah, I'm over two in live Doug loves movies at the comedy Workss in Denver M I lost twice. I you out when I do the show in Denver, the last time I did it in Denver, you were you had other plans Yeah, not that long ago, A couple of weeks ago. Uh we missed you, but, you know, I'm glad you had something else to do That's always a great reason to say no is youah have other you have actual work Yeah, I can't remember I was, but I was somewhere doing the road somewhere doing your comedy. And How often can people hear the Chubby B podcast? There's a free episode every week And then we also have a Patreon. We do a patreon episode every week. U And that's just five dollars a month if you want to get in there. we u are coming up on six years. We started In twenty twenty. Well, not to undercut you and your, you know, patreon sales, but also people can, you know, get more than one they they can subscribe to more than one thing on Patreon But u I'm undercutting you by m is four dollars and twenty cents a month. That's smart But you offer a lot more than I do, I'm sure. Mine is just Once a week, I turn a camera on and smoke and just talk extemporaneously directly to camera. That's the only place you can see it is on my Patreon Oh yeah, that's great. Yeah, we we're trying to make more stuff to try to up the value because God forbid to get five dollars a month for four episodes People want more. so you give them more And I give them less because they shouldn't even be buying it in the first place you're being prohibited. You're telling me not to. Such a bad deal that they go, well, fuck this and they save the money. You know Most of my subscribers are people that subscribe thinking it was gonna be more notot more, but you know, just They subscribed when they could absolutely afford it and then they forgot they subscribbeed to it because it's only taking ntil the sheriff comes to take them out of their house. Yeah, it's only taking four dollars a month out of their account. So like twenty years from now They'll be broken on the streets because they signed up for my Patreon You give them more and more because your peak, you had like eight podcasts. I did one that you did with another Doug. It's true. That one so going Wide world it Dugs. Oh hell ye. I'm going to hit Lace up to do that one because Uh, you know, Lace Larby is an incredible name Eough about that and those other things. before we play our games today, I'd like each one of you to recommend One movie will'll start with Jeff. What's your recommendation this week? Is it Were you get to say story story five Nous No, I saw the wrecking crew on the Amazon Prime movie Wrecking crerew with Jason Mamo and Dave Butista And it is it based on the old old like fifties wreckon crew with Dean Martin? No. I don't think so I just didn' just get the same name Wrecking crew Yeah Wow. And but these two guys, they're brothers, but they don't get along Wait a second fake news sounds like to me What? Who are the two guys? Wahberg and who It's Jason Mamo and Dave Batista. And whereere'd I get Walered ' it sound like a movie he should be in? Yeah, as soon as you're saying it's on streaming and it's got a title that's already a classic other movie I just took it from. Okay, so we got Mamoa B Batista and Uh, they're brothers Yeah, and they don't get along. Who makes more of an effort to look like the other one Neither of them make any effort at all. They just look like Dave Butista and Mamoa. Yeah, they're just two big guys One is bald and the other one has all that hair Yeah, they make I think they make some kind of reference to there being a significant age gap. Oh, okay, but wouldn't it probably different mothers or different fathers. But what if, uh, you know, uh, You know, Bautista in a Mamoa wig would be fun Well, yeah, I mean we're Well'll see what happens with the wrecking two. That better be what they call it. If it's not, I'm going to somebody's house What So you're recommending this movie though, you liked it Yeah, if you like movies that I've recommended, you will like this. Yeah. If you like if you like get the ch like Oh it's right up my alley, man. It is they fuck they have to solve a mystery. They fight a lot of people It's fun Good fight scenes Yeah See, it bumbs me out. I like a big screen fight scene. I don't like them on TV or on a plane or on my phone because You know, I like to see everything that's happening. likeike I just saw this movie The Furious. I saw it twice theaters because it's just nonstop kick ass amazing action and And you know, I don't think I' watch it much at home just because it's like I don't like action to be small. Just like movies with lots of explosions and stuff. it's just weird watching it on a phone or something. I thought I said the Furious last week, so I didn't say it. I saw the Furious also and it fuck it's awesome. Like then if I didn't recommend it last week, then I switched to that. This is it. The Furious It's awesome. Last week, I think you recommended I love boosters Okay, um Yeah, so the f sounds like you're like those kids and you just li the last thing you saw Well, that's it's the thing I can remember the most. But the I've saw four movies since I watched the Wrecon crew that I will never ever tell you. Okay, what's the wrecky crew what's it available on? It's on prime, but now it's like it streams on prime but I think you can just I think it came out to buy like if you want to rent it on something else. Yeah, that seems what they do that all the time now U, okay Um you know, I got prime so I, you know, I could I could potentially check it out U Lace, what have you got for us? Could you recommend a movie Yeah, absolutely. I We watch so we really love to watch like limited series more than anything, but Yeah anything mystery, all that good stuff I love. but I did see a movie recently that I breaking loved didn't know anything about it going into it. It came out this year. I'm sure y'all all seen it already, but it's called send Help . Yeah, Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien and that movie blew me away. I mean, every second I was I didn't know what the hell. I didn't know what it was going to be. I didn't know what the twist was going to be Yeahah, I could not I would really like to watch it again knowing how it ends now right Right? Yeah. those are always the best of a huge twist. and then you're like, Oh man, I should have caught that earlier. But yeah, fantastic, fantastic movie U Median Justin Thompson was on the show last week and said the same thing. Oh, well look at He said all the exact same words. so I'm accusing you of plagiarism. No' a bitch. It's very popular. It's very popular. We just started Twitter fe it over We had the same opinion on a podcast It is I, you know, I agreed with him and I'm not agreeing again with you. and it's really Um, Like you said, those two actors and Sam Rimy, the three of them like got it, you know pack to be awesome together because it's your. It's really right table Well, then here's one no one's probably seen then. the sixth sense. Has anyone say that? Be sa yourself. Tell us more about. Has anyone recommended that? I dbt I doubt We did rewatch that one though We did rewatch that though the other night actually just out of the blue we were talking about it. and I was like, you know what? I probably haven't seen that movie in twenty years And no. That was a fun one to rewatch S Tter No and. I just thought of a great Sorry to interrupt but No you're good a uh You know how they keep making like Jane Austen things but you know, with zombies or Abraham Lincoln vampire hunters. I'm taking the sixth sense and sensibility and it's Jane Austin, but they're all ghats. The ghosts is how u mister Walkon would say it. That's fantastic. Oh my go. No, Okaykay. then another recent one the Margot Robbie remake of Wuthering Heights. That was incredible. You love that looved it, loved it, loved it because I loved the book And I've seen other versions of it, but her version this it was it was darker, it was weirder. It was it had all these nice twists to it that are not in the book. They kind of took, you know liberties, creative liberties with it. and I say watch it specifically just for the wallpaper in the house when she gets with the fancy guy and the wallpaper mimics her skin And the yeah, so the creative like department actually took photos of her actual skin and then made wallpaper based on it. And it kind of felt like skin and it had like her moles and her hair and her everything like on it. It's so freakaking weird and gross and I loved it so much So we're going to go back and edit out your other recommendations. Thank you. please do. So no one thinks I'm plagiarizing whoever the fuck Justin Ts. don' don't edit out anything. Those are all thoseose were all great suggestions. and peopleeople can, you know, people can decide for themselves between those those movies. But I I wrote down saident help. So that's going into the official record L, Nathan really had some time to think about it Well, unfortunately, I was gonna to say send help and then Sixth cense and then Wuthering Heights as my wild card. So I'm scrambling. I'm lost. I don't watch a lot of movies. I will say that u I've been trying to watch some oldlder stuff, random oldlder stuff Uh And I was really pleasantly surprised to revisit for the first time and forever The world according to GarRp based on a book W veryery funny weird like Some of the older movies are nice because there's not the one formula that a lot of big movies kind of or, you know There's not as many tropes and that one is all over the place. You do not know what's going to happen in the world according to Garp from one scene to the next. So I like that It's true of all the adaptations of that guy's books. That's certainly, I think the best one, but anything that's adapted by what was his name? He just died recently, John Irving Yeah, he, u he put some wacky ass shit into his into his books that then then, you know, made it into these movies. He plays he's seen briefly in Garp as Garps's like Wrestling coach, I think. Mm U Well yeah, that was that was one that I probably watched in when I was younger, but not a lot. So I didn't really remember it. And it was just fun to not. you got Jon Lithkow playing a trans woman at like six five or what, you know, former football player turned Tr womoman, like student of Glen Close who plays Scarp's mom. Yeah, Greg close is Film debut, I believe Oh wow. yeah Okay. Yeah. it must have been one of her first ones. Yeah. Yeah, there's a lot to L lot to unpack with that movie. It's really u it's really wild. Did you see you watch it on a streamer So my buddy had a server where he was uploading movies. And so we were trying to watch just kind of random stuff or like When you're sick of current events, it's nice to watch a movie that's super old, like no cell phones, no I don't know, just no just a simpler time Uh, and that one is, you know, I don't know when the book came out, but it is, um, Yeah, it's from the olden times, the before times.. Yeah, people were less likely to use their seat belts, you know when they werere parked in the driveway. Right. So that is I talked about it on CvyV. That scene in particular. there's a one amongst other surprising scenes and events. There's one that stands out as really just a left turn and I mean, literally And then, um Yeah, and it's played off as kind of fun, notot fun, but like I don't know. There's a joke that comes out of it and it's like, man. U didn't expect a lot of the it was it was just a Yeah, time where they they shoved a lot in there. It's it's Mm sexual and political and the story of one guy, but the story of several movements There's a lot going on It's u definitely u You know, a movie that I revisit from time to time because it's really unique and You know, Robin Williams, like Lover Lover hates, you know, a lot of his movies like just like bangers in the world of pop culture. Yeah You know, you know, you take us something like a like a hook or a patch atoms or a Jack There's people that love those movies even though they're also u, you know People make fun of them mostly me he was a really good actor. He was pretty inspired But also just his choices like these movies were hits regardless, you know, like, u You know Hm I felt like a lot of his movies sort of fell short in different ways, but like the the people mostly Mly at it up You know U, But yeah, what a he' talking about RV No you very It's a very, it's a very interesting filmography and especially like towards the end, you know, he he got u like you know, there'd be one for him a couple for us, you know, like he do uh, you know, twenty four hour photo and then be uh, you know, this statue of What's is Nuts in, uh history at the museum at to be Hey you hear about all the history that's at the museum? All right,'s I guess it's a history museum, right U sure's not a future museum. That'd be cool though Boiler Music You know, like a tomorrowland kind of thing, but then it comes to life and wants to wants to kill Ben Stiller Lag the next blake. I made It's the first night of the Museum is definitely top five movies where Ben Stiller slaps a monkey All right, thank you for those recommendations. I will be watching one of them maybe. There are a lot of movie titles that are a character's name And then more information like the upcoming Gle Dauy and the celebrity sex pass. starring our friend John Ham as the sex pass So I will give you a fake title that I made up that has character from a film And then some more business about the film and you have to guess White movie I'm talking about This first one I will deliver Jeff will be up first if he misses it if he doesn't know it or doesn't say the right answer Then we'll go to lace. And then, uh Same thing. if that happens to Nathan And whenever somebody gets one right, the next person And Line is first in the next round. You ready, Jeff I'm ready What movie called Richard Chance and the Bad day in LA Falling down Oh. Great Great guess. I don't think do they say his name even isn't? donon't they refer to him as his license plate N movie. Isn't it like, you know, can serve one or something something like that. It's defendense. Defend that's it. Yeah. Defends. Yes. so I don't know if they I guess they say his name at some point, but anyway, that's not the right answer. Terrific guess though Lace, what do you think it is Oh my god. Richard Chance on a bad day in LA. Cue Yeah, I mean, the name might not ring any bells, so the best way to go is the movie where somebody has a bad day in LA Which has never happened. Right never happened. Okay, this could be way off, but one battle after the other Oh, that's a great guess Okay. It's a really good guifess because that's definitely LA. Yeah But I don't was having a bad day. Yeah, I forget what Leo's name is in that No But it's not Richard Chance I thought it was a battle Is What on the nose title that. Jimy Battle. Look at battle going up against Lckjob U Natha, do you think you know what it is Well, I don't know for sure because I was going to go with falling down. and so I've been rocked since then. Sure. And yeah, I can't think of Richard Chance, but Bad dayay in LA made me think of I'm just going to say Big trouble in Little China Oh, another great u answer we know that that character's name is Yeah, birack bird. Dack bird. Yeah. When I say we know, I mean Kurt Russell nerds So All right. So the first round. nobody got that one, but it is, you know, it is tough. These are not easy but When you get one, you're going to feel so good about Tub. I slipped in one easy one at one point. but anyway Someone will just get it randomly that way. But this one, Richard Chance and the Bad Dan in LA is Richard Chance was played by William Peterson in a movie called To Live and Die in L Dam. Yeah and spoiler things don't go great for him in a tremendous soccing moment. All right. Jeff, you're back. in the saddle Here he is your' Made up title Do Susan McCallister and the super smart sharks. Dep Blue sea He he is correct. That is camoo That is the plot of that movie. Saffron Burrows plays the Doctor who makes the Sarks really smart It's like they saw Jrazer Park and then went to the typewriter. I was just like, well, what about super smmark sharks? And what about how how, you know, we'd let them loose into the u into the world because they're so smart Uh, Lace, here's the next round I am Jason Shepd and the blue Mini Um Oh my go None of that is making any is bringing anything to mind. I don't think it should Okay. Okay, he's blue mean and all like a picture is the genie from a l. Right? That's not bad. Which version those? Bill Smith. Um, fucking hell. All right, Y'all are away y'all y'all definitely know some some throwbacks here. Okay. I got toa say something blue. Come on, Lace, what do we got Oh God damnit in the blue Mie. That's fantastic. I'm sure one of y'all are chomping at the bit to say it Ooney I don't know. M maybe. Um, I don't know how obvious it is or or not obvious, but obviously Jason Shepppper doesn't help you at all No, that's that's not ringing any bells. And And it's, you know, what movie as a blue? M mean Blue meanie. U Man, that sucks because I can't even think of something to guess and I know it's not Aladdin. so we're not gonna we're not gonna go with that Um All right, we won't torture you any further Okay. Okaykay, can I I guess I just I guess may just move on. Yeah, yeah. kind you know, if you don't have a guess, you don't, you know, you could just say Oklahoma and cross your fingers Okay Nathan. Yeah, uh I'm going to I have no idea really, but I keep thinking that maybe One of the characters in the movie is Goes by Sep and that made me think of somebody from Perfect storm. Oh, okay. Oh when the ocean has gone. That's right. That's right And I couldn't I couldn't think of something better. so so that's that's my guess. Oh that that's a valuable guess. I'll cherish it But also deep blue seea in the perfect storm. you Oh yeah, there's I'll just tell you now there's no theme between these other than them just being motion pictures Jeff, have you thought of it Have you Googled it yet Jeff? Yeah, Jeff. did you look it up was your brother there? Did you ask your brother No, Troy is not here Thanks for thanks for bringing it up Oh How many times did you have to say that to the young ladies when you were growing up together All the time. Yeah E time every time I answer the phone. is never for me U I don't remember anybody's name, but aren' there aren't the blue minies from Yellow sububmarinine? Well, that's a, you know, that is a reference to the that That's where those words came from. That's where I got the idea for those words is a yellow submarine, but But this is just one Blue meanie Oh um then uh just like the beginning of Yellow sububmarine No I don't I don't have another guess. I just also the deep blue sea in Yellow submary means like right then I was like, fuck, it's not to be Yellow sububmary Right. Ason as I said, they're not t thematically So, u Jason Shepard is played by Frankie Munies. And Paul Giamati was Monty Wolf and he got sprayed in the face with blue paints and it was therefore a blue meanie in B fat liar. Yeah. And confirm Lace, here's the next one. All right, Js move on We don't need to dwell on it Um so I will I'll be dwelling, I'll be Lynn Peltzer and the micrwaveable nuisance. Oh O, fllubber No and ally What is? Lynn What is it, Lynn what? Lyn Heler Eltsir at the microwaveable nuisance. mot sure at all. I just want to guess something Okay, Microwavable nuisance. Can we swear on this? Sit. Yes. No No. On sex words, no excrement Any words of sex word d I know if you're working in your life light, living your lifeif light. ad. I want I want to throw something out there and I can't even think of anything good That's okay Let me say something o. U It's got to be an ocean theme, right? U I'll say u Gremlins That's the right answer.. That was my mediate is it right because Lid Beltzer is the mom who puts the Tremling in the microwave to dispatch it from our existence. Okay And then you never see her again He has to kill a dozen things she doesn't even know are there. Right. And then she's gone from the movie. Yeah, she just dips like well, probably she's pretty smart how she handled all the gremlins in the kitchen So she probably just got out of town. and lives a nice life somewhere This lady hasn't slept in forty years. Do she and she doesn't make an appearance in Grandms to the new batch? Well now that I can't cannot cannot confirm. Right? You know, like maybe well, he can't be on his phone she can't be on the phone with him But you know what I mean? She might check in with Zach Allalligan visit? I don't think they do. that might happen there, I don't know Poite Aon, was he still alive when they did the second one No I don't I think they're in it Yeah, what Wh everybody else is U Cratulations. Nathan, you got that point. So Jeff gets to go next in what is our essentially our tiebreaker. So if Jeff gets this one right, he wins his game if he misses it Nathan is our winner. Uh, or you know what? actuallyctually, I'll give Nathan a shot at it and if he doesn't get it, then uh, then we'll give Lace a a try. but if between the three of you, none of you get this, I'll be incredibly shocked and then, uh The winner just gets to go first in our next game. So no pressure Jeff Stella Pane and the missing groove How Stella got her groove back? That's it There's the easy one. Yeah, because the tiebreaker has to be easy because I need to break the tie. Jeff gets to go first in a game that I call the little search engine that could I this morning And then I wrote a word into the search engine on IMDB And then I took note of the top ten movies according to N's algorithm, which is, you know, movies that have been searched recently Uh, I put that word down all the movies, the top ten movies that have that word in their title Three of you will take turns guessing movies one at a time for three rounds, you'll be trying to name the movies you think finished on This list Number one being worth the most points at ten And number ten is worth one point And then, you know, I'll tell you the points of all the others in between. U the word I'm sure that's what you're really wondering about We're going to start with Jeff and then go to Nathan and then place And like I said, you each get three guesses. so Uh, but use your, you know, you want to lead with your best guess because you don't want somebody else to guess the title you were thinking of And since it's the beginning of summer the word begin no. I typed Wh Movies, there's lots of movies with the words summer in the title probably starting to feel like you're drawing a blank on them now, but have a second to think about it Jeff, what's your first guess? What do you think is turnurn. of all times will be with the word summer in the title Summer' schoolool Summer school with chainsaw and what was the other guy's name? Man, no one ever remembers the other guy's name. they were a likable pair, but chainsaw kind of a hard name to like Chainsaw and Dave. So I think No, I think it is. I think it's Dave Dave. Okaykay. Yeah, Dave Okay. Yeah, and, uh, uh Kind of a t I don't know if underrated is the right word for it because I think lots of people seem to be, you know, have a a place in their heart for it. but on this particular case Say one more time, Jeff Summer schoolool. I just want to make sure because there's so many variations on all these things. Number three on the list. Ooh. Oh yeah ye Jeff out of the gate out of the gate with eight. I mean, Jeff, you were for a time probably Krirstiali's biggest fan Yeah, I would say that. beforefore there was any off screen information. H. Yeah Post post cheers. So you were like really into her in this movie and in That one Star Trek movie she's in Wath of Kon. Oh yeah, like We're gonna pretend I didn't watch all four seasons of Veronica's clloset. We can't pretend that. There were some upsides to watch Ea Verica's closet, very lean rice scrub was on it Uh, while the Swn was on it, All right. Yeah L Yes. What's your first guess? Movie with summer in it tryry to get the most number one that you think was just recently searched O, well that just threw me. I am gonna to stick with what I'm hoping is number one, which is I know what you did last summer I think that that is a tremendous guess and that is the injustice of this algorithm on IMDB because that title did not even crack the top ten. Oh my go Oh no I was so confident. I already already spent the money. I already spent the money, Doug. I further down the list That I had ten points. that that seem like that wass like I would I be right there with you, like this has absolutely got to be number one. Oh Lace, what have you got? Have you thought of so good Yes because this is yes, it's one of my all time favorite movies wet hot American summer Great Great movie. What do you think of the follow up Oh the whole I watched the entire series. I've watched the whole thing through like three, four times. All of them in their freaking forties playing teenagers my favorite It's one of my all time favorites. Yeah. Well, you know, most of the people, you know, all the lot of the characters in that movie were played by members of that, you know, sketch group to state Right Rob And now David Wayne is the director and Ken Marino and Joe La Truo, a bunch of people are in this new A Gail Daurery and the celebrity sex passass Oh fastic. Yeah Carry Kenney's in it. So it's really It's really going to be u a fun movie, I think. But anyways, but The movie at hand, W Hot American Summer, which I agree is a certifiable classic I never get tired of looking at it, is Not as high as you think, but still on the list at number ten It is on the list th o. All right. All right Yeah back's in game. Yeah, wear that badge with pride Hell yeah. Wear that wet hot badge. wet. Yeah, I don't know. wet and hot before other words doesn't have the same appeal. It gets real creepy real fast All right, Jeff. What's your second guess? You got you got some points. so you more points would really hurt everybody else. So we're all we all have our fingers crossed you're gonna to blow this I mean Smmer catch summer Setch Yeah, like a I don't know, it was that baseball movie. What's was do you think Freddy Prince had like a thing in his contract? He could only work in movies with summer in the time I didn't seem to enjoy it Yeah. No, but they did they couldn't figure out a way to work summer into the scooby Scooby doo titles They just didn't try No, they didn't. They could have they could have made the effort Um, you know, suicideed summer. No, that's a little too harsh, but you know what I mean? They could have some sort of After the colon because even the first movie now can have a colon and then more words. How when did that start That's ridiculous And don't even Does any can anybody say out loud the title of the uh Joh Tra Volta movie that just came out that he directed that's He also he's also a voice overver through the whole movie and he says things like the plane took off while you're watching a plane take off. No, but he looked ridiculous on all the red carpets th, can we talk about that? Yeah, he started his new look is He excited when he went on the press tour for that movie and to played a can, he decided he should be dressed like a director They're the equipment director costume Yeah and But the movie's called propeller And then a bunch of other words that I can't remember right now But it's like it's not even doesn't even make sense as a sentence. There's no colons or karmas And it's just a little over an hour long. so it' not it doesn't even qualify as a feature film All right Ohoy. And it's on it's streaming and on pay perview or whatever. So check it out. I kind of want to see it I also kind of wait for it to just show up at one of my movie interruption shows boy Yeah because that' be that'd be a fun way to watch it All right, u Summer catch is it on the list. Yeah That was a very long wided answer, but Summer catch was is a little further down in the teens on the list. Uh, but that was him and who was Justin Timberlake's wife Yes. Jessica Bele. Jessica Bele, yes U I only saw the poster Oh, you never saw the movie in her I got say I dare say this we should have like a public argument about this somewhere. I like go into those debate shows or something Worst sport movie forgive the expression, but like the genre, the sporting movie genre the ones that have the worst batting average I know lots of guys would disagree with me, but I think there are less good baseball movies Since then there are good football movies Good hockey movies. F of dreams. Good golf movies. Have you seen Filder Dreams lately No, but I remember it from childhood and it remained in my heart as a phenomenon. No Well no, that's important. That's important. but I also there was probably ome fairy tales that were read to me as a child that kicked ass, but I don't find them entertaining anymore. Well, I'm not going to rewatch it. o.' as scary to. I don't think you should. I think it's in you've got it in the perfect place Perfect in my heart. I do that to everybody when they bring up these classics because I make the mistake of watching some of them again And then I go, o, no Like the first funny thing about that movie is Ray Oa is supposed to be like this sweet character whoss Joe Jackson. He's ye Yeah, he's just, you know, he's just an innocent guy playing baseball in the cornfield, but like He's already evil seeming as fuck. Like when he when he laughs, He laughs at same laughs that he has in Goodfellas and every other every other movie where he played horrible people. He was natural balevolence. Yes, yes. it's so good Yeah, or, you know, his breakout movie that with Melanie Griffiths and Jeff Daniels something wild He is he is so scary in that movie. All right, u Sorry about Smer catch, Nathan, what's your next guest? Yeah, so I had so much time, but I kept coming back to one movie, the only movie I can think of with summer in the tidle and it is summer rental Okay. There's no reason to feel shame over that. No, I wanted something better. And I'm still reeling from I know what you did last summer, not even being in the top ten Yeah, that's to see that coming too. It's weird. Maybe like the recent remake might have heard it somehow. but I would think yeah, the oppsosite would be true. I would think it would be way up there, but Uh it's a strange algorithm and didid give you Three points because summer rental is number eight on the list Oh. Okay Probably because they was that great There's that great John Candy documentary came out recently and, you know, just make people look up John Candy movies Three points for Nathan Lace, did you think of another one Okay, so I've thought of two other ones. O one of two guesses Oh, perfect because one I'm sure if it's a movie or not. Okay, save that one for last Okay. And I hope I don't get the number wrong, but five hundred days of summer. Number ten on the list. I exxcuse me one on the list Oh way. I got ahead of myself about the ten points part. so I said ten on the list, but it's ten points ten and number onees Whoa Okay. You have sprung to the lead with eleven points Yeah Jeff has eight, but he still has one more guess. So if he can get U three points, it'll be tied. if you can get four points. he will. move ahead Do I get one more guest though? You will, but you have to wait for and an Nathan yeah So hopefully neither one of them will take your what you don't even think is a movie. I'm unsure, unsure Jeff Sammer Sam Oh boy, have we got ourselves a game because Summer of Sam is number seven on the list That's worth four points brings Jeff to a total of twelve one point ahead A voice And Nathan' still in this because the number two movie is worth nine points. So He would again force he'd be forced into a tie with Jeff if he can Name that number two movie right now That'd be cool, wouldn't it, Doug? That'd be so exciting That' be fucking great. Well, I could bite you a little time and mention that Trinidad, Colorado sounds like one of Bckaroo Bonzai's friends Whoa, Tue, That's good All right, Nathan, Yeah. do you have any movies in your head with summer? Another way to go is to make up, you know, make up a u, what do you call it you know, a saying or expression you've heard with the word summer in it Some people some people get sneaky and they just say, what about summer? Was there a movie called Summer? And then I look at the list and, you know, in this case, I'm not going to tell you what I would say. There's ways to go if you can't for sure think of another one Yeah, I got something that I'm going to throw out there. I don't think it's a movie, but maybe it is. I'm going to go I'm going to go with summer camp. I mean That's a great example of, you know, what could have worked out for you, but didn't. Yeah, sure. I had no idea. Yeah, great example of it but yeah, sorry, that is not could be a movie. But it's not top ten on this list Okay, Lace, it's all up now Okay, this is my same, same disclaimer U I don't know if it's a movie. But I didn't know someone who had this on a t shirt and they wore this t shirt a lot. Endless summer is a movie, It's a documentary about surfers. Yes And I I like it very much The world does not like it enough put it on this particular list. but that was that was a nice poll But congratulations to Jeff Tate is our winner today and, uh, Jeff, who would you like me to call a shit headad at the end of the show today? W you just say Who'd you say last week? What was it? It was Last week it was Tom Homman. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. So who do you want this week U Just a general, Greg Abbott It's like Greg Abbott. Okay. The Texas the Texas guy. U I call them hot wheels, but some people get upset about that. But that you you know who we're talking about Uh, okay, so What do you want to promote, Jeff? You got some dates in front of you? I got my dates in front of me. July nine, ten, eleven, I'm in Oa Clair, Wisconsin. The twenty fourth and twenty fifth, the comedy attic in Bloomington, july thirty first, Hhtag Comedy Club in Columbus, Ohio, August first Hammaill sanctuary. in Dayton, Kentucky, the Greater Cincinnati area And I have a podcast called the Saturday Anoon Movie Club. We talk about movies I watched when I was a child Did anyies that came up today? haveave they been discussed? U D haveave you done any movies with Summer in the title No, no, but I want to do um One of our Sam's good friends with chainsaw, so I'm like I really want to do summer school, but with chainsaw Yeah, Dean Cameron Yeah. and apologies to the other guy for not knowing his character name or his actual name U Okay, before we get to Lace and Nathan and their plugs because everybody, you know, deserves to have their plugs. I wanted share the answers that weren't that didn't come up. It's funny both of you are very patient with me on that because usually as soon as I tell the winner to start doing their plugs to go. But what are the other answers? I say, donon't you worry. we'll get to it, but the But the winner gets their plugs before because all the listeners want to know too U So There's some sort of Japanese anime called Summer Wininds. that is number nine on the list. And then so yeah. so there's going to be these kinds of things where you go, well, how would anybody come up with that H Hot summer nights from twenty seventeen, starring Timothy Chalamet Look! I' never heard of it. U and then there's a movie from twenty eighteen called Summer of eighty four And then number four is a movie called Summer of sixty nine Like if you just say summer and a year, you're kind of, you know, you have a chance And As we know, summer schoolool was number three. And then number two, an indie film from a few years back that I actually enjoyed a great deal So I'd recommend it if you haven't seen it And it's called The Kings of Summer H But yeah Yeah So from twenty thirteen, Nick Robinson M is just Hoffman, I think his name is, and Nick Oofferman has a brief role in it and it's really good Um, okay Great job Welcome to summer everybody Lace Larby Did you have a good time?
