We're deep diving into a latest and greatest release from Nintendo An old school one, but now new school. I've only bought Star Fox to use the avatars for the buzz. Yeah. I have not played it yet. Oh you didn't. I thought you werere gonna to play this weekend. I ended the same weekend. Oh ye, o. I had a jam pack weekend I never You know me. We're very similar. Oh yeah. We're homebodies. Oh yeah. I would prefer not to leave the home. Yeah. I would prefer to say no to plans. and they caught me just right to adventure. Shout out to Greg Rice for an epic weekend, but he caught me. Yeah. I was in this awkward moment. You've been there before. where you overstep and you say, yees, sure. Yeah're like I could have said no. You know? D. I could have been home playing Starbucks sixty four for the upptam time. So did I fk it up? Yes. Am I happy? Yeah, of course. we're having a great time. But I'm excited to dive into a Games cast place with you because you were like Mike I could beat this whole game in less than an hour. Yeah. You've dialed it in. I mean, I think yeah, yeah yeah that's the kind of the standard. L Okay Unless you're dying a lot. like especially if you've played this game before, you know what's ahead. Okay, Okaykay.. I can imagine it being maybe more like an hour and a half if it's your first time and like you don't know the patterns Yeah Yeah. once you got it downloaded in your brain dial you know, you're kind of in there. Well, Tim, it is a gamess cast place. This is more of our editorial live stream where we deep dive a little bit more into the features, into the game itself while showing it off and answering questions. It has released. It's had a full weekend now. Yeah. What is the reaction so far? Are you seeing your timeline still popping off the? People seem really thrilled with it. Yeah. I think that the reaction to this has been above and beyond what I would have expected. Okay especially after that initial reveal Yeah kind of I think a lot of people it was very divisive, but I also think that the The negative energy was the loudest in my spheres. Yeah. And I also think there was the combo of even the people that were still hyped on it like myself. Yeah, were like, o, we're really remaking sixty four again. like It's just it's hard when I was I got my mindset on it's gonna be a new starfuck. Of course. you know. But getting this I'm like, how can I complain? One of my favorite games of all time is remade beautifully. Okay and they do such a good job. This music we're hear right now on the menu. I used to leave it on the menu of Star Fox sixty four just to have this loop and it didn't sound like this. Okay, yeah yeah. This version is so damn good. It's a little quiet in here right now. so what're happen in the full That's all right. I'm sure they hear. I'm sure they hear the greatness. But all of the music in this game is Fantastic. One of my things I love the most about Star Fox sixty four is just how cinematic it is. Okay, I've talked a lot on the reviews and previews and otherwise for Starfox twenty twenty six Starfox has always been about pushing the technology forward a little bit about immersion in video game. Yeah. Starfox one had the Super FX chip, which allowed three D gameplay on the Super Nintendo, which was crazy. Starfox sixty four giving you the rumble pack and VO. Okay, et cetera, et ceter. Be here now, it's kind of like the fully realized vision of Starfx Okay the story, the liilat Wars, as they call them. Let me show you. I have two questions for you really quick. You can show me some things. One was we never really dove into when you talkking about cinematic. Yeah. We didn't really dive into the Free like Star Fox's dad. cinematics that they were hyping up of like, hey, we knew that between missions, you're going to have new cinematics that were never created before haveave some dialogue to dive deeper on the characters, which is awesome. But we didn't really talk about Star Fox's dad. And that was the thing like, o you're going to get a mini cinematic of Star Fox's dad kind of the prequel to all this. What was that like? Is it good We saw it. They showed it in the Yeah time I was Maybe it would be bigger. was Oh really That was just the prologue The original Star F sixty four, that was, if I remember correctly, like the title crawl. Oh I to that story. Yeah, maybe not even actually. I don remember You get the story though. it's told to you that Pigma of Star Wolf betrays f J C his dad James. and then James presumably dies. He goes missing out on a Denim So Well That was always the backstory. for the games. Growing up, I played Star Fox sixty four way before I played the original Star Fox. Okay. And I always assumed that the original Star Fox was the story of James Oh Because my neighbor told me that, but he was a fucking liar. I'll never forgive you. Okay, okay, okay. fucking dude. Yeah I finally played We no, this is just the same shape. Okay, okay, okay Um So anyways, I love this game so much. Yeahah. I don't know exactly what I want to do here because let me let me show you this show show surround So this is the Lat system. R Th these are all the different levels on the left. You always start on corornneria and you always end on venom. There's two versions of venom o That's kind of alwaysatter what Seven missions in between. Yes. and then there's different paths depending on certain challenges or certain conditions in each level which might send you somewhere else. Yeah. The kind of basic way to look at it is if you're on the bottom here, that's the easy path of going. Oh, That's the hard path. Really zig zagging through the middle, that's kind of like you know the middle. Okay, okay. And that's not always true. It's not necessarily that their levels are always harder, but For the most part, I'd say that's the case, but if you play through You need to get to Venom too for the true ending. If you get to just bet them, okay. getting the basic ending. And here's the thing, like if I play this, we're probably gonna beat it in one sitting, that's just kind of how this is gonna go. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The spoilers of this game, the more you replay, you just get more more and more And that's kind of the whole point. Soorry yeah, Iveat it many times. When I was a little kid, I wantna clear even now. I'm not good at this game. Okay, mostost video games, I'm not trying to yeah, I'm good. I don't want the chat being like Wow, Tim Folin like he said this y. No, all I'm saying is that that barre right? Yeahah. B you get getting medals. You see that? Yeah, I would like to know about the medals on this. So each level has a certain score that they're trying to get you to ch. and you need to keep all of your wigmen alive the entire level and you need to get the amount of hits that you need. They're all fairly challenging I don't think it's the hardest thing the world. When I was little, it was the hardest thing the world. I always wanted to get medals and I only got like I hadqu of them backack in the day. It was also the N sixty four controll at different time, different different type of experience, right? But now that I'm older, I'm like, I really want to get the medals. So how it's working here is you can see each I have most of them But then the one next to it' grayed out, That's the expert mode medal. You can't unlock expert mode at all until you get medals on every single level. No, whichich I'm like ' the problem I'm facing is the only ones I'm missing right now are Sector Z, Bols, and BenM two. Those are all the end of the game. becausecause of how this campaign works You have to play the whole thing. Yeah. Yeah if I miss it, which I' have done a couple of times. Okay. So it's kind of frustrating. But I've seen a ton of other people out there that like every time that they even play, they always get every melo. my. I don't want to like that, y'all. But I'm just gonna jump in and then Potentially I'll ask you what p which one? Okay, well no matter what we either gott to go top or bottom, correct? No, you guess like you would.. So let's jump in and see where the adventure takes. Let's do it So where's the challenge? Does it tell you the challenge? So the challenge is a separate I guess to the metal. the mal When does it present when you hit the dart when you're in it. Oh, okay, okay. Oh, yeah, rightight? When you're playing these. Yeah, you don't want to play. That's why you replay it so much. Yeah. You need to play through the whole game at least three times to have played all the levels. Okay. It feels like Pokemon snap. Yeah.'s like, Oh, yeah, there's one route but it's like, you know you can go through this little secret route, you know, Yeahah, you gotta do this. So this boss was the first boss from the original Super Nintendo version. Okay Okay. I love the effect of the water? Yeah, the water looks great. The whole game looks fantastic. Yeahep, big red chip K knows exactly what to do. I mean ye, I've done this right after it. Yeah, that's great. JBC says the all terrain mode is so much better here. I agree. What is that? All terra mode, So that tank? Most of the level, that's the landmaster. Okay. Most of the levels are linear on rails, like you know, you're just kind of going straight. All range mode is when it's more of like in this open arena Okay. They're usually just big circles The normal boss fight in this level, if I didn't do the alternate path, it's an all range mode. Oh really? Likely wherever you want to go Yeah. But it's a very, very small little area. Science Stock officialsays genuinely one of the best looking Nintendo games in years. I totally agree.. Like I said, I' still not fully on board with the designs, but I think it really works. Okay that game is stunning hopefully there's a lot of good will and energy. I mean, with the idea of like if they were to make a movie, you know, and then, I was three away from the medal. I already got it for this one, but. I already got the medal. Okay am So then you get these cutscenes and depending on what choices you made, there's different cutscenes. f retreat as promised. It's worth what you're paying this, generenal obtain a wealth of enemy intelligence. Crucially, we've learned that our main fleet has been targeted for attack as it passes through Sector Y. Atempts to warn our people have gone unanswered. I'd like you to rendezvous with them ASAP. I had planned to ridee us through the Medeo asteroid field, but it sounds like they need us in seector Y. Andros's army could be used in Medeo as a staging area for the invasion. But never mind that. You heard General Pepper. The fleet needs our support in Sector Y. That bunny looks good. Oh yeah. that bunny look good, dude. So yeah, as you were here and there, the original plan was to go to Medeo. Yeah of course We have now the to some Y Yeah. And Sliippy was saying like, oh, there's some weird stuff going on. Sctor Y. They're hinting at what the like secret in Sctor Y is like hidden within the astra. Okay.'s like okay's like little warp things that we can decide to go through if we want to keep on the hard path. Yeah. which And you take them I'm not sure I wanna do that for this. Yeah, mainly 'cause like, well, let's see 'Cause the next level of the hard path kind of sucks. Oh, you're in the submarine and it's not b. Oh shit. But, okay. All let's see what happens. So it makes your lasers stronger and shoot faster. For the whole level or for for level. But if you o if you crash too much, your wings get messed up and then you lose the upgrades. Oh shit. Sometimes Sometimes I throw myselfves in the walls just to like get to a different upgrade or something in that You know, sacrifice for one upgrade, yeah other, but Yeah, onene of the problems is because this is a remake so faithful to the original, some of the sections could be a little slow. Okay, okay. but also look at how cool this is. we do the whole blockade Is that a giant monkey head on the front of those? Yeah for the Andros is big, big monkey. he's the bad guy. He's the war criminal essentially Universal is contemplating a Star Fox ride. Yeah it should be all over that. I would love that. They should continue to build out that Mario in Donkey Kong worldor down in Orlando and here in LA just keep making that Nintendo plat grow and grow. The biggest problem is they just don't have enough land. Like they're running out of room. They've al ran out of room. So I don't know where they're gonna fit these rides Are we going down to L.A for Fast and Furious? I want who's so freaking bad. Are you not on When's it gonna open? Lvels like I was saying is very indndependence day. We get of Star Wars inspired stuff Yeah, I mean, I'm into it. I like the vibe And they only do this once Only do what once. There' sub ye Yeah ye. interestnteresting. How many times is I do the tank There's two tank levels. The tank levels, okay. But they're on different paths so You have to pe off some won't leave time. Yeah. And depending on where we go, we might not even get in the tank for this run This level is hard to get a metedal on is what yeah, it toosk to be like six tries, but I did chat says. Really? o What makes it so hard? what do you have to do? So a lot of the things that make the medals hard is more just like there's not enough enemies in the level. Oh it's you need to make sure you're getting those combos right. Oh, 'use usually the metedals are tied too Yeah. haveave a score of ninety bus right here, we need one hundred fifty to get the thatal. Oh shit, okay. But yeah, you're looking for those combo pieces here Yeah. H. Nash says Tank is also way better. Can't get over how fun first person is. The tank is, I like to comeine. Okay. I prefer the aor wing over everything though. Yeah I just appreciate that they built a sub in that giant spaceship down Child's is slippy for thinking about that. The Star Wolf theme is a little too fast for my life. I feel like I o sllow it down a bit. I know that's how the F sixty four version was, but since then we've improved and gotten better. Yeah, slower is better. And the final song of the game, like the big credit song They whipped it. same impact anymore. Like becauses both the song and the visuals, like they just made some really weird changes that' like, why would you do that So I'm sure I care more than ninety nine percent of people do about that. Yeah. But still, have you got an ear for it? Yeah, someone else has got a Oh, yeah, yeah yeah Arocities He was making his own giant fish kaiju, that's why Damn that's crazy. Our fleet has successfully engaged the enemy on multiple fronts. For now, we're holding the line attention. There's never been a better time to strike at Zone S Yep, G tozonus, strike it. o. This is my favorite level of the remake. And I hated it in the image. Really? Yeah. it was a boring looking now it's like very, very N nailed. It beautiful a stealth mission thinkink you all can keep quiet long enough to get the job done? azers do the talking Ke keep the enemy occupied a little longer, Genal. We'll get down there and clean up Andros's mess All right, so we're going to Zonus, which is like the trash pineage where all the garbage. and What's fun about this one? There's like special guest characters that'll like come in seven levels. Yeah. And this one is like Falco's like. Debatably ex girlfriend shows up. She o. Look, she's a cat. okay. Birds and cats can get along. Dam. Digital Dunnt says I hundred percent agree with Tim the ending song missed the mark. I like the ending was kind of lacking as well. I them running to the sunset.
