Yeah. You know what I mean? Wake up on a Mondayin a Monday. There was rumors the last couple like weeks but there's rumors, there's just always rors Right Yeah. But like the idea that summer Game Fest just happened and then it was like all of a sudden, I feel like it was after suummer Game Fest that we started hearing the hey, the week of june twentieth maybe Uh preorders going to go up and it might come out june thirtieth. It's like there's just no way that that's going to happen. like I felt that because we didn't have the review cop And that that Yeah. Yeahah, exactly. So I think it was a similar thing with the steam controller where I forg if there's rumors or not for the steam contontroller, but like We We had it in the office, and it was one of those things where it's like, They're really about to just announce this thing out of nowhere. out of nowhere. and we have it. This is kind of crazy. Yeah. so now it's out there with the er system that I appreciate they're attempting to like stop the scalpers. Yeah, you know, always good. No great system to ever have for these things, but I think that that's it's the best foot forward. you could possibly for sure. Do you think I mean, how much of a scalping culture do you think there's going to be with this thing? because I demand is interest is interesting where I think for over a thousand dollars, I'm not convinced that there's going to be crazy demand, but I think they're going to supply it low, so it's going to sell out regardless. I mean, I think that there is a crazy demand for a thousand dollars. I think that they would sell way more in a perfect dream where let's just do the math on this because they Raise the price of the steam deck in an IGN article, they were saying that the raiseed price of the steam deeck was very similar to how much they had to raise the price of the machine. Yeah They wanted this thing to be At least the entry level version around seven hundred and fifty dollars. Yes, whichich is still very, very, very, very, very expensive compared to consoles in the pastity console launch at least, right And but that would be way more reasonable in terms of like we're trying to maximize getting these in as many homes as possible But I feel like the Ste machine was always set up to be a more luxury premium item. even despite the goal in mind, we would all think wanting to get it in houses. But I think the moment that shit went south with all the tech and all the parts and prices skyrocketing. It's like The reality set. I've been saying this where it's like they need to get the steam machine out the door because the longer they just wait on it, things are just going to get more outdated. Yeah. you know. So I just feel like the state of the world put Steam in such a bad position where they could have made a real difference in terms of this thing is now being seen as like competition to consoles in the real way. And now it's just oh, it's justCC It's just a PC for PC gamers that want to play in a different way.. I think it's mainly at this point for people that have a PC that want to play their PC games in their living room But is that worth a thousand dollars? I think it' be worth a thousand dollars to a lot of PC gamers who are used to spending thousands of dollars. Very rich PC gamers, but like but that's I think a lot of the PC gamers we're talking about. I guess so. ye Yeah. It's not a good thing, but it's just like, PC gamers are used to spending a thousand dollars for graphics card upgrades every couple of years.. If they have a use case for I want this in my living room or whatever, which is what a lot of people that are in the steam ecosystem want. It's like All I'm saying is this thing is going to sell out. There will be demand for this. Would there have been more demand if it was cheaper? ure. I mean, I think it's going to sell out either way, right? Like to put up a blue sky about it. One of the replies was talking about like You know, they're going They're going to call it a success, right? because they're not they're going to sell out of it. And my thing is yeah, if I have a bake sale and I make three cookies and I sell out three cookies, it's a success even though even though I meant to make three pans of cookies. You know what I mean? Like Yeah I feel like this is one it's a bummer for me for or not a bummer for me, I guess. It's a Bummer overall just for the state of the world, the industry, the economy of what tech looks like right now to where I think the world that we that we could have lived in where this would have came out for seven hundred fifty would have been such a, oh, fuck, this thing is the future. And now I'm kind of just like Okay, it's just another thing that people can buy but yeah for me the thousand dollars. prices me out of it where I'm like, oh damn like seven hundred fifty to eight hundred dollars was as much as I was willing to stretch and I would have stretched that because I do like the living room functionality. The thousand dollars, I'm like, oh no. Yeah. I have a PC already. I'm not gonna to make buy another PC. I'm of the mind of seven hundred fifty and above is putting it in another bracket already. L the two hundred fifty dollars difference to me, I don't think is like that that much different. I think than five hundred or less, even five hundred fifty in like being realistic these worlds. That's where I'm like, oh, y'all are trying to be really, really competitive. Otherwise it's a luxury item. And yeah, I really wonder to your baking analogy of just like what their definition of success would have been otherwise because like seven hundred dollars for our consoles andan. Also this goes back to when we were first predicting prices of this. I expected the steam machine to be priced at a thousand dollars period without all of the crazy situations going up. But the reality is like the full decked out version with the two terabytes, which I would not recommend people get because just I mean, I don't know. I would say to if you got it, hold up like But no no, I would still wouldn't even say that. It's like that's to me, that's the most ridiculous part is like the jump up of like three hundred something dollars for one point five terabytes more of storage space. I would hope that at this point, if you're in an enthusiast in the space in any way, you have a microSD card of some sort Yeah and like maybe make the call to like take that out of one of your old devices and put it in this or whatever. or hold out hope that prices of some of those go down over time. But I mean, not that I necessarily think that I'd recommend anyone buy a steam machine at this price to begin with. Yeah, ye. I don't know. That's the tough thing is I love the idea of this so much and like You know, I I for sure, I know probably most people here at the office definitely the market of oh, if I can just have an easy PC in my living room that I hit a button on the steam controller, it turns on, it automatically turns my TV on and I just play these games like I'm playing likeike a Playsttation, whatever. That's such the dream. But yeah, it's like not a thousand dollars thousand and fifty dollars the dream for me. let alone fifteen hundred dollars hundred for the two terabytes plus whatever. And so I'm curious on like W sign up I signed up I wasn't gonna sign up. I signed up with the idea of like, what if I become rich? All a su not out of nowhere. up What if I just get bny out of nowhere? You never know. You never know. N never know. you know, walking down the sidewal, I see a thousand dollars on the floor. Yeah. I signed up just because I want to be able to make the choice. I want to watch more, I haven't watched any reviews yet. I want to see what people are actually saying about it. but yeah I also from the beginning, personally, I've been like, I don't know that I have the use case and I'm always a use case guy for this stuff. So until I figure that out, I'm like I'm not sure. Theyre not. But That's not what we're talking today, Bless. Interesting. As I was putting together this list, I just peaked at October because I was wondering I was like,h, but Fame Bed zero should be on my. And I was, wait a second. No, that's onober. Yeah. started looking at October and I'm like Hold on. Yeah. October might be where it's at for me because we're talking about Fanam Blade zero, we're talking about Ace combat A Star Wars Galactic racer. I'm excited for gears. Like this will be my first gears game that I play. So gears e day coming out that same day as well. And then we go through. I think the Valor Mortis. Castlevania Belmont's cururse Like Final Fantasy resonance There's some meat in October that I think does stand up to maybe not the big AA blockbusterness of September, but in terms of quality games. I think October is just as strong. Yeah. I mean, I'm right there with you. Like last week I was planed to be on the episode. so I already made my list and I was kind of struggling with it while might ers because these lists are personally what we're looking forward to. It's not what we think's going to do best. It's not what we think's going to sell best or any of that. It's what we are most excited to get our hands on And I'm looking at it I'm like my like list falls off pretty rapidly. You where I'm like there's the top where I'm like, o Oh my God, I can't wait for these games. And then it's like, I'm kind of interested, I guess. So yeah, like then going I kind of am looking at September and October as One time frame for me where between the two, I'm going to be very, very, very busy. I got I got I got a word for that timeframe. Autumn Yeah. Yeah. Yeah ye Yeah, I think that maybe it'll stick. call we call b. Yeah, yeah. ye I don't like that. No. No,. We'll stick to Autumn. Yeah, okay, let's stick with Autumn. But yeah, what we what they did last week was they made their little brackets and then they went through them had two games fight against each other and then one would move on doing when we're not doing it against each other. We're just kind of doing it. Does this make sense for us Should we shift this into a shit list situation? Okay? where we just craft A joint top ten I'm down for that 'acauseuse like, I And I't watch the episodes so maybe I don't understand. I watched it it was good. Yeah. but it was just, you know, excuses for us to talk about all these games. Beause if I look at my one through eight, right? Like my first matchup is going to be control versus Runescape Dragon Wild I'm like, well control I don't yeah, I don't really have I don't I can't argument. For like one game over the other when I already have the games listed out like this. Yeah But I feel like Us putting together a top ten most anticipated of September But the problem with that is I feel like our lists are going to be very different And maybe I'm wr. Maybe I don't know. I feel like me and you are similar. I mean, you got Runescape on that shit Yeah but at number eight that again be st. One of the reasons why I'm like, I'm looking at October versus September is like after my number three of September It kind of falls off for me. Okay, where I'm like, I mean, I'm looking forward to Aamusha, but I'm not like, oh man, I got to play Aomusha. You know what I mean? I know you are. All mean let's do that. I like this. Let let's just jump into it and start making a list. All right. What are we trying to get at? We trying to order like All of them or I was going to say top ten. Well, because I guess what we could do What if we ordered them And we ended up tearing them We don't need to put a number on it, just the number that we stop actually being interested. Like the lowest game from September that we'll put in is one that either of us are like I want to give that a shot. Okay I like that. because I feel like between there's not that many games. So I feel like maybe our list will be like fifteen. Okay So If we're buildilling out the tiers, right? the lowest tier is I want to give that a shot. Yeah What's the ter above that U I want to I want to hear what other people have to say about it Okay, wa lower Waiting on reviews. Yeah I don't know which of those tiers would be higher than each other though Waiting on reviews I think would be lower. Yeah. Witting on reviews lower, Okay I want to give that yeah, I agree with that So Lois is waiting on reviews. abbove that, I want to give that a shot Aove that lookingooking forward to Yeah. I want to ye yeah yeah or if you want to simplify anticipating. anticipating I like that And then above that would be like, can't wait And then I'd say there's one tier above it that I'm not sure any of these games hit, but just like the S tier holy shit. Move everything. Move everything. I'm playing this and all caps. I guess, let's start from the top Is there any a move everything I'm playing this? Becauseuse like I find it hard for me to not say that about Wolverine. M There's something about me that like I'm not feeling that. L I think I just put it in the can't wait category, but like Freaking love insomnia. I love insomn. Can I ask you a question? Yeah Are you looking forward to Wolverine as much as you would be looking forward to a sppire to game Same And I'm like somebody who and It's okay. I think Spider Man comes in an interesting place for me where I am always highly anticipating a Spider Man, even though I come off like I don't ultra love Spider Man, but that's more so just my review like, I don't think Spider Man is like Breath of the Wild to me. You know what I mean? However, I'm always looking forward to playing Spidererm Man I want to be Peter Parker Miles Morallas. I want to swing around the city. There's something that's just euphoric and classic about it. Yeah, I mean, I'm a Spider Man guy through and through. So it's like Spidererm Man will always, whether it's movie, TV video games, like that will outrank mostost things Um Except for some Nintendo properties. But like S spidererman's very just high on my list period. Wolverine is up there I enjoy Logan as a character. I enjoy the X men as characters. But even then I feel like I'm way more a Spider Man person than I am a mutant person. And from everything we're seeing from the game, it looks very, very fun. I don't think that there's anything about the gameplay that I'm disappointed in or that I don't think it's gonna live up to how much fun I have with the Spider Man games But I also don't think that it's going to hit the peaks. Like the concept of swinging around and like the fantasy fulfillment of feeles like you're Sidererman. versus the I'm gonna rip everything to shreds of Wolverine. Yeah. I prefer the swing. likeike the rage and all that stuff. I'm it's cool, but like I just don't think it can pek for me. as high as like the dynamic musics of Spiderman's like swinging in as you're like getting more and more of that there's something that's unmatched when it comes to swinging through New York and then a wall running like as you're swinging and then jumping back in the air and doing flips and twists and stuff. and all of this is happening. Yeah, while the music is swelling, you might have somebody on your you might have miles on the cs talking about something, right then You know, hit that apex or your swing hit it dive down feel the momentum. Oh we just talked about this recently but the I got chills. The Yeah fuck yeah, man. Yeah. But the L two and R two with the anchor point to kind of like slingshot you. It's like, oh, it just feels so so damn good U But yeah, I imagine this will have some type of flow like that where we will hit it and get and there'll be some moment that it's like, damn. that was special. So I'm not holding against it, but Someone of the ch askks a great question that Dam just went away, but it was Would you rather play a Spider Man game or a Wolverine game right now? And I do think that that's interesting. We've gotten so much Spider Man that need another Spider Man right now. I agree with that. you know. So it's not a matter of like, oh, I wish this was Spider Man. It's more just like how Oh my God, drop everything. am I for A w Wolverine game? I don't know. Do you think that's reflective of When we get to Overine the game, we're going to have fun with it, but it's not going to hit the heights of the sppider Man games. Or do you think that's just a marketing thing of they've not shown it off to its full potential? I think they've shown it off to its full potential, but I do think that its full potential is a compelling narrative and fun characters that you don't expect and all that and I do think that they'll deliver on that. Like I think that come review time I imagine that I'm going to be a lot higher on it than I am right now talking about my hipe for it. Like I expect this to be a mininimum great game just like everything Insomniac has done in the last couple of years. Like I love inssomniac video games because of how video gamy they are and how much they make me want to play every single thing that they have to offer within them. And I imagine this will be Very similar to that. It might be a bit more linear, but One of my top two game of the years right now is zer z seven first lightight. Yeah. and that's I imagine going to be very similar to this in terms of structure of It's a very compelling story. fun, linear missions that you're doing, some slightly more open areas U and then some version of a VR we can go in and do a boss rush or like fight other enemies or like do cool things. And yeah, that sounds awesome I when we're talking about tearing it, right Beause I'm in somewhere in the top two tiers, moveve everything, I'm playing this and can't wait I might lean more can't wait But also like when we're talking about just the month of September, I guess to your point, I'm like, which one would I put in there And I think most games, if Wolverine came out around the same time as like, let's say a blood of Don Walker or Silon Hill or the Mounonscape, I am like, oh, I' move everything. I'm playing Wolverine. ual resonant For me is the one where I'm like If control and Wolverine came out at the same time I might I might go to control first. Yeah. Control might be my pick for move everything I'm playing this I mean, because I look at it between the you don't need to have one by the way. in that tier. You think we just leave it It's blank. Yeah. I don't think we force it. I think it's more just like if it ends up there. The more I think about it though, like I started looking at it and like my number two, my number one is Olverine, my number two is Oni Musha way of the swword. I love Oni Musha I even replayed the demo and I feel like I'm a little bit more high on it than I was when I first did the preview last year There's no doubt that Wolverine is a category above On Musha in my mind. L in terms of like how muchuch I like franchise games and Sony first party games and insomniac games and Marvel Caves. There's just so much going into that that I'm like, I think I do have to put move everything I'm playing this for Wolverine personally. Yeah. just because if I'm being real, let's take September out of it looking at the rest of the year or my Move everything I' playing these games if there even were any and like Ocarina of time. Oara GTA, I would say are the only ones. I think it belongs I think that's thing. you know, because I think part of Wolverine, part of why I'm so anticipating Wolverine, of course I'm looking forward to the game. I'm also looking forward to talking about the game with y'all and reviewing the game with y'all and having it be the thing of like I know this is the game that everybody is going to be playing at the same time. Y. You know, like there's something about that zeitgeist of Wolverine that that outpaces these other games because I think some of us here will play contontrol resident, someome of us here will play P Fantom Blade Zero, All of us here will play Wolverine. And I think that's I think there's something to that that has me even more excited tootally that communal aspect to it. Yeah So Wolverine we're putting in and move everything I'm playing this. And we can always move things if we don't feel good about. I feel I think I feel good about that. I'm also putting I would put control resonant in there Yeah. Although are you are you as much of a control? D definitely not. I mean, I haven't even played control. So everything I've seen in resonant, I think is way cooler than things I've seen from control and Don' get at me. I'm not saying that control's not cool. I've heard about the freaking blood Ash Maze in the hotel As st. I get it. And when I say I get, I don't get it, but I don't get it because I haven't played If I were to play, I'm sure I would love it. And I can't really find time to play it. L I've been thinking about this. like do I try to force control to happen in my life the next couple months before contontrol resesonant? because resonident looks so sick. It looks so good. But the other thing is like, maybe I just jump into residentant. because right now I put resonant in I want to give it a shot. Pers Okay where it's like, even though I haven't played the first one, I'm like From everything I've heard about the Alan Wake stories and everything, I'm just like, I don't think this stuff's for me. Sure. And I'm also like I love that it exists for the people that care about it. and I love how weird it all gets. and like I love how interconnected it all is, but I also like how weird and vague and like When I hear y'all talk about this shit, I'm just like, good for you. Yeah. goodood for you. There's something about type of world that works so well for me, right? The Every is kind of weird. like there Every like you don't know what's real, what's not real. You for control one specifically, being in the oldest house and findinding different weird properties that things take, where it is, hey, we've banned no, I can't remember the exact details, but we've banned pencils because we realized thatenil when you bring a pencil into this building, things just get wacky. pencils just start fucking flat around killing people. the idea around objects of power and all this shit, I think is so ool And like that's that's the type of supernatural shit that I really fuck with. Yeah And I lean more towards like the control parts of it than the Allen wake parts of it. I like Alen wake too, but like Control I think really went above and beyond with finding something with its setting and making exploring that setting in like a Metroidania like sense, even though I wouldn't call it Metrovania but in that sort of way, which is really fascinating because he didn't know what was going to behind the next door that you open and resonant Gameplay wise looks even more like my type of shit. likeike control, I think the gameplay is fun. I think the Tlekinesis is really cool and the weapon, the service weapon. cool idea, but there's something about it that didn't like get to like that ten out of ten level for me. When I see the gameplay of resonant and I see the weird gravity, I'm on the wall. I'm on I'm like shifting this way. L looks like gravity rush type shit and then you have the melee aspect and you know me, I love melee combat This looks like it's going to take a step beyond of how much I even love control at least on the gameay level. We'll see on the story and world level, but If it's just more of that, then I'm going to be very happy with this game. Bart I saw you popping up there. A selling point for you, Tim, it's very short. I played control for the first time, like I actually played through it earlier this year and I want to say it took me like nine hours. Oh shar. it's not very long. And I would say it is actually a metetroidavania bless. There's a lot of aspects of like what its design is that reminded me a lot of like playing Arkham Asylum for the first time of like, oh like three D metetroidvaniaas and like how well they kind of design all of that I think you should give it a shot Chim Yeah, I think you'd fuck with it. Okay Okay Yeah, we'll see. I do like that though. the metroidare say the Metroid Vanian thing. Thats thing is I don't I't like. When I think of control what I think of you. Yeah. I could see you not loving it, but I could also see you loving it. I mean, I say that at. That's kind of where I'm at. But yeah, looking at Rident I look I feel like I like that a little bit more because it looks like just it feels DMC combat like, you know? I don't get souls vibes from it. I get just like hack and slash fun action with like easy ass world. That shit seems cool. But yeah, if I'm being real, I put that down and I want to give it a shot, but you feel way stronger Yeah. I'm definitely on the move move everything I'm playing this, but like, how do we do? Do we split it down the middle or do we I do I put it there with my name next to it? I mean, I would aboutad is. put it put it underneath Wolverine, I would say, because we both feel that way about Wolverine, right? Oh yeah, sure can't wait Well on, do you want it Ohh and move everything Do you think it's move everything? for me it. Yeah, for me it' move everything. Okay., okay, so I'll put it there. Yeah And then I know we were talking about Aomucha earlier Yeah, F M, I'm putting that in the can't wa Like, I That me mean. In the words, I can't wait for it. It is one of my favorite franchises growing up, Obviously you've heard me talk about it for years on these shows. I love those games. I don't think any of the games are the best games ever made. They are very, you know, parts of them are pretty bad actually, but they're of the time. Like at the time, they were special and awesome and there's so much that made them special and awesome A lot of that was just the cool factor. And a lot of it was like the fear factor. They were survival horror games in the beginning. in a like samurai kind of rarapping, which is like really rad. Awesome weapons, using all the different elements, being able to like switch the weapons in fight to be able to use different elements against the bad guys. It was so great and there's something so satisfying about killing all the enemies, their souls kind of fly out of them and you suck them into your gauntlet XP or health or whatever it was. And just that mechanic just felt so damn good. So it being decades later, this is a very different game. The heart and soul of it' still there because like a lot of the combat back then, since it was a survival horror game, literally using made by some of the resesident evvil team using the old school resesidentvil tank controls for Onmusha one and two. which is crazy to think about. Like imagine the old school PlayStation RE games and controls in it what seems to be an action Samurai game I bizarre. when after they announced this, I went on YouTube and just started watching Gameplay from the original Aomushia. And if you haven't, like if you've not seen Gameplay of Automuchia, you should watch it because to your point, it seems like a different game And I'm very fascinated with how you translate that. I guess can you can't really make The original Aomusha Well modern, right? No, not no. I don't think so. I think that would be a bad idea because I think that so much of its charm was and place of of it existing. But the thing about it too the take away the tank controls, take away all that. is funny because That meant that every move you make mattered so much more because it was about positioning on the battlefield versus these enemies with like swinging giant swords at you or whatever. So you had to be in the right place There's this I forget what it's called Isin, ISS EN, I think that's what it is. It's Parryes. and it's like a perfect crit parry. So so much of the like actual gameplay is getting good at parrying and you'll just fuck the bad guys up after you do that. And it's so satisfying. And it seems like this new one is taking that being the soul of the original ones gameplay wise and combat wise and focusing a lot more on it. Like I've been seeing a lot of tweets from the developers promoting the new game and they keep mentioning that stuff. They keep showing off people that are speedrunning the demo. uh using that mechanic and I'm like, okay cool, that seems like that's kind of the vibes they're going for I The jury' still out for me on if it's going to hit the like levels of I'm invested in this main characters story. It's a new main character. So far I like them a lot On wishes' always has really goofy bad guys in the demo we face off against a really goofy bad guy. So all the pieces are there. I just, I guess my biggest thing is I wonder how much only Musha fans are going to love this and I wonder how much all the like Souls fans of the world that look at this and they're like, oh I'm interested in trying O Musush for the first time. Yeah. It's not aouls like. So I wonder I wonder if it's going to end up pleasing both groups or neither or just one both. I just I don't know. So I'm putting it in can't wait because I guess I have a More hesitations than I probably should for the game, but I can't I can't wa even if it's not that good, I can't wait for it. Yeah, the fact that Aomuchia exists in twenty twenty six, I think is' such a cool thing for an Anomucha fan. Soci if you don't I imagine none of y'all anticipated that Anamusha would come back. in this way, right? No. No. Yeah. this is like of. Oh my Godd. And we've watched it a million times on Games Daailies whenever I'm get excited about it. but at some point Maybe around like getting closer to Onusha coming out. I wantna show you just the intro video to Onimusha three. Okay Be it is one of the most hyppe video game introros, video game video cutscenes anything, period. And' seveninoscape, the hero from the first game who wasn't in the second one, it's him coming back for the third and they're on this giant airship that's actually a living demon And he like infiltrates it from the sky and he goes through and just fucks up. so many demons using all of the weapons from the first game of their elemental attacks. Let me tell you, Zl game is great. For Aomusha, I'm I think I'm at the anticipating place of it. You know, you talk about The Omusha fans and then like the soul slash action game fans, right? like how's that going to meet? I'm obviously more on the soul slash action game side of it. I did the preview with you sometime last year, I think around GEC time. and I liked the demo, but I definitely wasn't like Oh, I got to move everything. like this game is going to change my life is going to be, you know, the this action game seems like it's top tier or anything, but I enjoyed it in a way where I love a game that stars a dude with a sword. I love just chopping things up, slicing, pairing all that shit. And so at the very base level. I'm in on that, right? Like yeah like give me a game where I can just do that. I'm always in for that kind of thing Yeah, there's something about it where'm I'm not pushing into the can't wait partart of it. and maybe that is a I just got to wait and see. once I get my hands on the full game, then I'll have the full understanding of, oh, this is actually my shit And it's Capcom, which does help because Capcom I think has that consistency. Even a Pragmata, which I didn't love Pragmata as much as everybody else did. That's a game that I still That's a game that doesn't waste your time. It's a game that is still polished and it's a game where I'm like at the very least, I can see the here, right? Like they know how to make a video game that is at the very least solid. And so I feel like Aamusha is just in good hands when it comes to, they're making a new one. It's Capcom at the very least, I'm going to have something that I'm that I think is good to Okay, if not great, if not amazing. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I have nothing but full faith in Capcom right now and especially hot at the heels of residentvil Requiem and Pragmata, which are two of my favorite games this year. Yeah. that is a game that based off of the current. generation of Haze like games as you like to call them, but split screen co op games They always hit for me. like even split fiction, I think I love split fiction more than most people. And that's just given I think these games tend to have such excellent gameplay to them. like really smart game design, at least on the Haze like side of things or Haze light side of things. Orbitals Looks really cool. You know what I mean? Like Was it at the last direct? we saw we saw a trailer Because that's when they gave us the date. Yes. Yes Um This game continues to look good and The art style and just the entire conceit of it For me is really refreshing and really cool. Like when you just look at it, it's how much it looks like a Saturday morning anime that we watched on Tunami back in the day It just looks incredible. Yeah. I mean We can't al enough about how insane this looks I feel like this just scratches such an itch for so many people listening to the show of when you see this trailer, you're like, I want I want this game. I want to play this and For me, the biggest question is, you know, you bringing up the Hayese L thing.. I think that one of the best things H like He Light has going for them is how varied the gameplay experience is and how surprise and delight focused, the whole thing is where you're doing something different constantly. And I'd say that more often than not from a gameplay perspective, those things are fun. Yeah. And it's always surprising how well so many different styles of game can control within one video game. But I think with that it comes the story and the locations. there's always reasons for things to get as wacky from a world perspective as a gameplay perspective with change upps withith orbitals, it seems to be a bit more focused world and story and character wise, which I don't think is a bad thing, but I'm interested in what that's going to do for the gameplay, which I'm interested in is this going to try to reinvent the wheel and continue switching up what you're doing constantly? orr is it going to have like couple handfuls of things that do that and then iterate on those concepts more like a three D platform. Do we want that or do we want them to continue to sh Because like One as we're watching the trailer, the trailer makes it seem like it's going to be the former where they're going to be switching up gameplay moment to moment, moment to moment, which is kind of what Haze L does and are Haze Light U does I love because Like I don't know, that feels very Nintendo. It feels very it makes the game feel very fresh and it makes it You know, I think there's something that's special and fun about that. Of course, I also love a game that has a core set of mechanics and builds upon those mechanics But there's something about this genre of game where I think that I think there's a reason why we're so blown away by it takes to or blown away by split fiction is Oh, you're throwing all these ideas at us. and like there's There's something that's delightful about that. Yeah. There's something that's like exhilarating about that. I mean while that is so true. For some reason, when I see this these trailers, not just this one, like anything for orbitals, I get as much like Mario Galaxy slash Odyssey vibes as I do the Haze likeike stuff. Like if you were to take out D Two player part of it whichich I guess that sounds silly because if you could say that about the Hazight games, but then The argument wouldn't. Th those games don't give me that energy. This looks like it has just that creativity of like, yeah, you constantly are doing something different. but like think about like Mario Galaxy two, where it's like those' levels you're in three D and all of a sudden you're two D. Yeah, it's like kind of going back and forth. I'm getting a lot of that here and I think that that's a good thing. My point is I think the focus of the gameplay switchups within a more consistent world could actually lead to this being a more exceptional package at the end of the day. Oh, that I agree with. Th just being like wouldn't When we think about split fiction, I feel like we can kind of like be like, ah, we didn't like this element or this element because They didn't come together well, like the story Pood fiction kind of feels like the conceit of the story is made so that they could have so many wacky gameplay ideas come to play and also wacky settings and doing all this like You're going from being a pig flying around using your farts to, you know, being somebody in a fantasy world to being somebody who's doing like, you know, you're playing as food or whatever right? Like plit fiction gets see there by creating a story premise that's so can do anything with this I do think that there is potential here with orbitals to be a bit more, hey, you' playing as sppace exxplores. And so all the shit that you're doing is going to be Space Explorer shit and Like we're going to find creativity within that, but I think that gives you the ability to maybe a bit more consistent with everything comes together, how cohesive it is. Yeah. I'm excited. I think this is going to hit like, do you think That this is gonna be like a nine out of ten I don't know. I really hope so. I really hope so. Yeah. I don't I'm I would be surprised. It's hard to say with because I don't think there's been previews of this game or anything. It's always hard to say, but like But trailer makes me the trailer gives me confidence. We'll see when people get their hands on the sticks, how it really comes to play Yeah. It's a little bit disorienting, but concept is exactly what it looks like if you're an audio listener. Greenbound is a game where it is a first person platformer, but you have in your hands a game boy in game where you're seeing the two D gameplay of what you're doing in three Ds. So you're kind of working with the three D realm and the two D realm at the same time. That'll help you like Navigate and that'll also help you solve puzzles reallyally novel, but break my brain in certain ways where I'm like, oh man, okay, this is this is a lot I'm also curious on like how deep it goes. One of the things that they showed off in the latest trailer that we saw that was really cool. they didn't have in the playable build that that I did was like a Zelda style of gameplay. It seems like there's almost different cartridges you're putting into this gameboy. Yeah styles of game. And I think that can be really neat. So I want to see more from that and I also want to see pololished is the overall thing. Not that the version I played wasn't polished, but it wasn't like the most like Damn. they I wasn't looking at the details too finally, like beingress impressed by them, you know, wasn't that kind of experience. But of course, indndieev, we'll see what that final product looks like, but I'm wondering, yeah, when we get to the different cartridges, the different gameplay styles Am I like, oh damn they went off on this or am I like o Oh, man, okay they' stretching but there's something here. Yeah, you know. Yeah. But it's cool. and what a looks cool. fun unique idea and I love that we've seen so many different indie games in the last ten years where you see a trailer and you're like, whoa The amount of times one of us will like send a trailer to the gam's daily Slack channel just to be like, we should talk about this because it just looks cool. This is one of those games. one hundred percent. I'm happy it's finally coming out What would you have at number five? Fire emmblem, Fortunes Weave? I had that at number six. This is one so I've never played a fire emmblem game. I've always been interested in three houses, but with Fortunes Weave coming this year, I feel like I might as well just wait for that one because it's the new one and the switched to two and all that. Do you playing Xenoblade right now has me on a high or I'm like I'm like, okay, it took me this long to get the Xenob Blade. Can I get that that same high with with Firem and Fortuness weave? I the gameplay style For me has been something that I'm not typically into but there' been practical strategy style of games that I like. Mugenics came out this year and I love Mugenics. Live Alive came out a couple of years ago and that has sort of a grid based combat system to it as well This seems like it'd be up my alley when I hear people talk about three houses Some of the stuff they talk about are the characters and the social stuff and Me and Barret love our love us a persona And so there's enough of those elements of games that I do like that are present here that I'm hoping if I jump into fire emblem allows it to resonate with me. One of the things I'm scared of is the length and how deep you can go with the fire emblem, especially in the month of September. but I'm putting I'm putting this It's somewhere between can't wait and anticipating, but I lean towards Can't Wait for Fire Emblem It's funny for me People gonna be really mad at me. but we just need to understand everyone is their own person. I love fire al Like I have multiple Fire Loon games that I have strong opinions on positively like all the way back to path of Radiance and than the wee one, I forgot what that was called Eernal something. But Aakening on three D S was so damn good and such a great jumping on point for new people to fire emblem. And I even enjoyed all the rest of the ones on three D S, like Fates and Birthright and Conquest, all that that weren't as good as Aakening, but they were trying something cool Once you had three houses, I know it seems to be like most people's favorite for a couple of reasons. One, it's the highest selling. two, it's on the Switch and it came out in a time when people were just hungry for games on like wanting to love games on Switch. So they got super into it. But they just added a lot of stuff that speaks to people that speaks against me. L don't really the I'm walking around in third person talking to people at a school stuff in a fire andbound game. I loved when that was simple. I loved the social stuff in the cononnections between characters when it is just in between the battles, you're at the camp, but it's more menu based and you're kind of just like reading a couple things and hearing them fall in love with each other and make babies from the future, you'll get it one. Babies from the future. it's crazy. F about Waken is crazy. Interesting. And then yeah, when Engage came out, I tried to giving that a shot, but like I was saying recently about N of fasy residents, like I don't really It kind of cheapens it when it's just like leegends from the past are all back here.'s like feels like it's not cananon and that bothers me for some reason. And I'm just getting my head about it. So all that' to be said is I look at this and I'm so happy this game's coming out. I'm so happy three houses is getting a sequel that it looks this good and that they're doubling down on all the stuff I don't like for the people that like it. But yeah, I guess If I'm being honest Im not playing this game Wow. I'm creating a new tier. Yeah Yeah. But C if I'm being honest, I'm not playing this game. But I'm so I'm very happy. I'm very happy that it exists. And I think that the people that have play it are going love it. Wow You know what? I think I'm going to just leave this in anticipating. Becauseuse like when I look at orbitals, I look at Automucha Well I guess orbitals for me, I can't wait to play Obitals I know you can't wait to play Aomusha. I'm anticipating fire them if I'm being real, right? Like I'm scared just about like the timing of it being in September and how much of a demand that that game is going to have in time It looks cool. It looks like something I'd have fun with. After he told me about it, like It seems like the updates they've been giving more and more about this game have been more and more cool as far as the kind of game that it is. Like it seems like this has way more witcher style elements as far as like what they're doing with characters and side quests and all these things. Like I feel like we haven't had our vampire era in video games since like, Castlevia I know we've gottenamp Vampire the video game. I know Greg for the last ten years has been playing Vampire the Masquerade Boodlines too or last year. but like I feel like there's a renaissance that we're missing out on with vampires. and I feel like this could be the one that leads it And so I'm looking forward to it I'm probably gonna put it on I'm between anticipating and want to give it a shot. This is Anaperna, I believe which is a smart way to do it, honestly. I like how they're approaching putting out all these different Silly Hill games. I'm just trying to find my own entry point. It does seem like we are getting just a lot of silent Hill projects And I say that as a resident evil guide. not that you can only be one or the other, but it's like I've been getting a lot of resident evil as well. I feel like the closest thing to it was resesident Evil three and that was more just like it was kind of short and didn't have all of the content of the original game. But still a great game there. I was like, why am I playing two K drive? I could be doing anything else. I'm hoping that this is better than that. I'm hoping that this is like legit as good as the unleashed games, if not better. Fingers crossed So then you're number seven My number seven was Silent Hill toown Fall. Okay, great. So what's number eight. Runescape, Dragon wild. Okay This is one where every single for the three different times we saw throughout summer Game Fests week, everyvery single time I looked at Mike and went Mike, I want to play that. I'm not a survival crafting person. I did love playing Groonscape as a kid Runescape was the game that at my like in my third fourth fifth I think it was more fourth and fifth grade. My fourth and fifth grade class All the boys in class were hooked on rununescape. yeah. We' be in the computer lab, We're like, we're logg on Runescape. We're' ret trreating bread. we're doing all We're doing it. It was my first MMO. and it kind of took over my elementary school during that time. So I have I do have a nostalgia for it. I don't expect that Dragon Wilds is going to do anything with that nostalgia, but I look at it and I think the gameplay looks fun. I think the art style is really vibrant and like It's a world that I kind of want to exist in. And you know, I've not gotten into a survival crafting game, notot necessarily because the gameplay is a turno offff or anything. It's just that I've not seen one where I'm like, that's a world that I want to spend all this time in to build things up and do all this stuff. Closest was Do and Awakening. and I think I just got outpaced by everybody in Do and Awakening because I didn't have the time. This There's something about this that is working for me. Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to put this in the I want to give it a shot. Category. I don't know if I'llall in love with it, but it's one that I wantan to try out My number eight was Halloween Okay. The you know, asymmetrical Michael Myers game U. I'm more lphonic Is it lphonic? That is the question. Greg would be very mad for me not knowing this. I imagine it is Halloween. And it seems like this is one they're putting more effort and work into. This is not no way That's the wrong page I'm looking at Altari twenty six hundred game. This is Elfon. Okay great. Yeahah U I out of all of the like slashery types, I think that Halloween is probably the one that I resonate with the most. like I've seen All the Halloween movies L I have some level of interest in the difference between the reboots and who Michael Myers is or whatever. because like for a lot of those like Friday the thirteenth and all that it's like o, there's all the different Jason' and I'm like, I don't really care. you know. This I'm like, oh, I'm kind of semi interested in what Michael Myers they put in there and the world that they've created in the movies and was it Haddenfield, I think it is. And then at our top tier, which is move everything I'm playing this, we have Wolverine and Control Resonant I feel really good about that. That's like I dont Yeah, I understand that like Each one of us wouldn't fully agree with this, but I think together, yeah. Yeah. really That's really solid. And hey, that shows September's about to be a really great month for people.
