Hello everybody, it's me Roscoe and welcome to our latest Ishwish Town Transfer Talk the show. We're going to keep you up to speed on all the latest links and rumors surrounding the blues. I'm here with Alex Jones as standard our transfer expert. Um we're gonna sort of talk about the latest rumors, AJ, because um it's been a busier week than last time we recorded. Um a few links out there, some European players, some experienced players in the UK, um, some youngsters as well. How you, my friend, as we deep dive into transfers. Yeah, I'm I'm good, thanks. I've been off for the it was off from Friday through to Monday, and it was quite quiet on the rumour front. And I was having a little look through while I was away, and I thought a bit worrying, you know, when I come back, we're gonna have to do some transfer stuff. I'm not really sure there's gonna be be a lot, and the last maybe three-four days or so, it's just been bam, bam, bam. Um, yeah, plenty to touch on, plenty to get through, lots of links. We'll try and separate facts from fiction, what we think of certain players, a lot to to get stuck into and um Yes, indeed. To be fair, transfers never sleep, even though it could be a quite few days and out of nowhere, there'll be a room, there'll be a link out there, even if how wrong it could be, and not even a chance for that player to sign. It's still something to chat about. And people love transfers, especially during the off season when there's no football. Um, and we've got how many players here? One, two, three, four, about four, five, six players to sort of talk about. Um, let's start with a Colombian though AJ this is sexy this is what I want to talk about. It's the most recent link. As we record, I will recording just before two o'clock on Friday the twenty ninth of May. Um but Nelson Diossa um is the link, my friend. There's a midfielder from Real Betes . Um let us know a bit more where where the link the report came from, first of all, and a bit about him. Yeah, this one came up late latish last night from uh ABC Sevilla in Spain, who were reporting that Town were kind of the latest team to start sniffing around Nelson Diosso with a bit of interest there, plenty of interest in him. Uh I think river plate of kind of in front of the queue in Argentina, but also a couple of Brazilian sides, Flamingo and Vasco de Gama, named as well. Um, and for a lot of people, Delsa 's not gonna really be uh a household name, let's put it that way. He um spent a lot of time in South America, with his uh in his native Colombia, was in Argentina for a little bit, um, and then ended up going to to Mexico. Um he was with Pachuca at first and then at Monterey. And it was at Monterey where he caught the eye because they were playing in the club Wldor cup last summer and, um there was uh quite a lot of interests going about with him. Forest and and West Ham were credited with interest and it was Rael Betis who ended up winning the race. Uh 11 and a half million euros was what was uh kind of the the the fee that was put out there, which is around ten million pounds. Um and Montreal also have a a sell-on fee and it's been a tricky period for him over in in Spain where he's not really had the minutes, uh he's not really had the opportunities to to show too much. He's only started eight games, he's he's had twelve minute uh sorry, twelve games off the bench, just over seven hundred minutes. Uh, didn't score or assist in La Liga last year. And Real Betis went on to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in I think about 20 odd years that they've they've reached uh this competition. So they're naturally going to want to to go and upgrade certain areas of their starting lineup to prepare for that. And um there's a feeling that they're quite happy to let the Ossa leave if they can turn a bit of a profit on him and Ipswich are one of the teams who have been linked. Um it's always difficult to kind of judge local outlets in foreign countries and see what the reliability is. I mean, we are to them a local outlet in a foreign country so you you can't really look uh too far beyond that and and understand that um there's definitely a possibility of strong translates which have uh sounded out DOS as one of the targets . He's an interesting player, I think it is uh the way to look at it. We don't really know too much about how he's adapted to Spanish football because I haven't seen a lot of him. Um he's quite attacking, but you'd imagine would play in that kind of double pivot role next to Azul Matasiwa. If he was signed, he's a left footer, about five foot ten. So you think the physical profile would fit. Interestingly, if you have a look at his shot map, he's taken eighteen 18 shots 16 have been inside the box not a single one sorry 16 have been outside the box two inside the box not a single one have hit the target which is um interesting but yeah, um that's the link, that's the rumour. I'm not too sure about this one personally. I I think that there's a lot to like. It's a very sexy link, it's a very attractive link, isn't it? But uh as a starting player at least I'm not too sure whether this would be the route I would go down with that midfield role and I think that's going to be such an important role. I think that Ipswich should be looking at a higher level of player as a starter if it was a squad option, then that would be a different story, but it would have to be at the right price for me. Um 10 million in that region is possibly a deal that I could see being done, but um I don't think that uh it's the right profile for that that real marquee midfielder that I think Ipswitch need. Yeah, um I'm probably blindsided because yeah, he's South American and he's playing you know abroad, he's playing in La Liga. Um but from all the stuff you just mentioned just now, yeah, probably not the player you want to be alongside Azul Matasiwa, sort of battling the best of the best in the Premier League, but it could be an option. Um once again we didn't matasiwa or when he first signed, um we had to get a lot of insight on that. Although he had sort of proven in in Holland and then France and stuff like that. But uh had more opportunities, hadn't he, to to showcase and with with they also I mean , he's obviously had good campaigns elsewhere. It's not worked for him in Spain really this time round. There have been talks, he's not been too happy. Uh some whispers of of attitude issues I don't know too much about about those. It's just from things I've seen online . Um but it's clear that look he he's at a stage of his career. He's twenty six now. He's going to be turning twenty seven next February. He is going to want to go and play regular football somewhere. It's just about finding what that level is. Um I'm not sure that that's going to be maybe Premier League level, given that he struggled to get into the Real Betters team, admittedly a Real Betters team that that have got really good options in midfield. They've had Pablo Fournells, who's been one of the best midfielders in in Europe this season, uh, alongside Mark Roca , and um the Betis have have done really well in in in the way they played and people have been impressed with Diossa and what he's shown at Real Betis but um it feels a little bit risky to me when the bulk of his experience and what we've seen from him beyond little flashes has come in Mexico and in South America. Although it could it be a hidden gem. Um but we'll see. But I think this guy next up, next up, we're going to talk about, could be another hidden gem. Um is a defender now, uh, a physical ball playing centre back, and that is Rogerio Rogerio Neo Cossi . Um who was um born in Switzerland, uh but you're currently playing in Belgium, AJ. Let us know a bit more about good old Roger. Yeah, really talented centre back. Um who's playing over in Belgium. He uh had some time in Marseille, was playing in their B team, didn't really work out in terms of progressing into the first team at Marseille. So they let him leave to go and play for uh H Leuven in Belgium. And he's been really, really good. He's been one of the the best centre backs in in the Belgian top flight , despite the fact that his team have kind of been quite near to the bottom of the league, only just avoiding a relegation playoff spot to ensure they will be in the top flight next year. Um and he's attracted a lot of interest with that. He's Switzerland's under twenty-one's captain. He's tall, he's six foot two, he really enjoys playing with the ball at his feet. Um yeah, he he's scored four goals, so he's a set piece threat as well. Um, and it's attracted a lot of interest. The teams that you see linked at the moment, there are a lot of them, which again feels a little bit like it could be agent-driven. It's come uh from Futumercato over in France, uh, who've said that Ipswich are in the race to sign him alongside, get ready for this. Uh French sides, Strasbourg and Lyon. We've got Bundesliga, Quartet, Augsburg, Hoffenheim, Stuttgart, and Werder Bremen. Then you've got Fionaud over in the Dutch Aero Divisi and Everton as well. I've seen Liverpool have been linked with him previously. Two um Marseille are understood to have a buyback clause that was at six million euros, so about five million pounds. And if he doesn't go back to Marseille, which I I'm not convinced is is overly likely at the moment, um, then uh Leuven are said to want around eight million euros, about seven million pounds. So not a huge money move and clearly a talented centre back. Then you kind of come into the same discussions again. He's not a centre back who's had loads of experience at the top level. He's not played in Ligue 1 with Marseille, for example, and his minutes have come in the Belgian Pro League, and how does that transfer into Premier League football? Clearly someone with a high ceiling, but it's risk and reward. Do you take the risk on someone who is twenty-two, has a high ceiling, a good ball player, but know that it might not be the easiest transition to come into the Premier League? Teams like Brentford, Brighton, Bournemouth, however, are quite big on that kind of recruitment and signing someone that you've never heard of. And the fact that there is this long queue of teams, and I'm not saying that um all of these clubs that have been reported are definitely interested and having top of the queue and Ipswich would you know again I'm not saying that Ipswich have him in that same uh position or or that there is any interest there at all. This is just what the report's going to come up with. Um it shows that he is a talented player. It's just going to be about how that that fit is and um what kind of opportunities he would have at Portland Road if signed. But um a nice link nonetheless. Yeah. Do you know what I think we will sign a few players like this who are just sort of never heard of um and who are just sort of got that potential um and it could be one of those uh do you know one thing when you were talking just then and talking about Marseille with their buyback you know, clause, but you know box and the re-sign him . I would say it's sort of out of the question that they sort of re-sign him but then sell him on again. I don't know how often that has happened. I know that has happened in in football. Um but they may look at it and go, I've just had a good not bad season in Belgium. We sign him. He's probably not gonna be for us in the future, but could loan him out and then maybe s sell him on later on. Uh maybe there's something there. But yeah, as I said, for Towns recruitment, I wouldn't be surprised if it is a player like this that we sign someone who we just like who, but then they come out and become like a hidden gem, as I said . Yeah, he could be a star. 100% he could be in the fact that you've seen Liverpool linked and other top clubs shows the kind of level that he he could be at for sure. Um it's a case of knowing what route you want to go down, and foreign recruitment it's it's weird with an Ipswitch perspective, isn't it, where we've seen such a limited amount of it. And what you have to do as well, and what I know is a big thing with foreign recruitment, is that you need to have this idea of how leagues compare to one another. That is a really big thing, and teams kind of come up with their own rating system where you can say, take a striker, for example, let's say it's a striker who's playing in the Aero Division in the Netherlands and he's scored 20 goals, and you then essentially have to take those numbers and the stats that he's posted and say, right, well so based on our kind of rating system, how would the Dutch top flight transition to the Premier League? Exactly. So for example, Troy Parrott scored what like 24 odd goals, something like that, in in the Dutch top flight. How does that then transition to the Premier League? How does that what what would his numbers look like in a in a Nipswitch team in a whoever's after him leads, Everton, blah blah blah. How does that compare? So that's that's what uh a lot of the kind of foreign recruitment will look like is is kind of rating and ranking leads and you uh sorry not leads leagues and you've got to also have a strong idea about different stats, what's going to be like um touches that you have, especially when you're uh a ball playing centre back, physical jewels, all of these kind of things, uh, the the physical side of things, everything needs to be kind of compared and and transitioned. Centre backs a really difficult one to do that with though. And um the Belgian pro league's also a really difficult one as well. Uh and an odd market where um you can see players absolutely fly and perform really really well but there are various examples of players who've come from Belgium into the Premier League and just haven't cut it. So um yeah, risk versus reward inter, ested to see what happens with him if it's to England, if it's to Ipswich or if it's to somewhere else. But uh Niakosi's certainly an interesting prospect. Yeah. Um I think as I said, I think I think we'll have one or two of these and then they'll just see how they they go. And if don't work out, they don't work out whether they're not going to be a big sort of transfer fee. Um, but one thing I think, AJ, that town will need to do is get experienced Premier League recruitment in, um, and that is the next link we 're going to talk about. Uh Soly March, who um who is bright and through and through pretty much, he's been there for so long. Three hundred appearances for them. Um he's obviously a thirty a versatile thirty one year old player. He's had his injuries though the last two seasons. I think he only made like four appearances this year for the Seagull. Um yeah, he's contract expires with them in the summer. I think they had an option to extend it, but they all opted against it, so Solimarch could go on and find a a club elsewhere. Let us know a little bit more about this and um I think yeah, good little discussion about players, you know, experience like Sodley March that I think towns should target if they can. Yeah, they'll need to, and it's important for Kieran McKenna teams. We've seen that with Ashley Young. So let's let's talk about Soly March a little bit. This was a report that's come from Team Talk after it was announced that Soly March will lead Brighton, as you mentioned, had uh the option to extend his deal by another twelve months, but with the way that Brighton are trending, their conference league next year, they're going to look to be in a higher European competition uh uh the season after that you the the the kind of approach they're trying to take is going to go away from players like Solimarch who've been there for so long, had his injury issues, has only had uh very few opportunities when he has come back because of the quality that Brighton have in their squad and so they've allowed him to leave for free. The report from Team Talk says, get ready for this one. Newcastle, Everton, Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Fulham have all made expressions of interest regarding a potential move with Ipswich and Coventry. There's a lot of Ipswich and Coventry and transfer rumours at the moment, those two really paired together. Um also seeing him as the type of experienced Premier League quality sign and capable of strengthening squads significantly uh and it's understood that marcher's leadership uh versatility and technical ability could prove invaluable as they prepare for the challenge of surviving in the top flight and you can see why you can see the appeal , um , and I'd be interested to see what what kind of level he's going to end up at. I think that he will be in the Premier League next year, despite interest from West Hammond Wolves. Do I think he's the kind of player who can go and sign for Newcastle or Everton or Palace or probably even Forest and really threaten to get into those teams. No. So I think he will be someone who will end up towards maybe the bottom end of the Premier League. And at that point, you'd have to have it switch in that conversation, even though again you have to take the source uh with uh a pinch of salt, let's say, uh, and not look into it too much. But certainly an interesting link and um the versatility aspect is interesting as well where he would fit in. Uh in my mind, I think the biggest area would be if Ipswich were to switch to a back five. I know I'll always say it, he's a very good left wing back option and could be good cover for Leif Davis Yeah, definitely. I I said like town just need to bring in players with experience at this level and you know he's okay not played the last few years, but he's not gonna be a regular. I'm sure he probably knows he's not gonna be playing week in, week out. Um, do you think this one, Ajano, as you said about the source, but one that could potentially happen um if if the options there and I'm sure Kieran Kenna will will know a little bit about Solly . Yeah, a hundred percent aga Again.in, I'm I'm not gonna be big on the source. I have more than enough alarm bells and and and questions there with with team talk and there's another rumour we'll come up to in a bit from the same source that I I certainly have question marked over as well but if this is something that's within reach for for Ipswitch financially um in terms of the the demands being met for for game time and the aspirations then certainly 31's not that old for a player. The biggest concern for me would be his injury record. Um, he's had some really tough ones, but if Ipswich can look past that, I think that A, you're then getting a player who can handle himself at Premier League level and has done so for the past decade nearly, I think that he's played for for Brighton in the Premier League. Um but also then getting a player who seems to have great character. There's a reason why Brighton have stuck with him so long, despite the fact that they've progressed at such a uh incredible rate uh under Fabian Hertzler and under the Zerby previously and and Graham Potter the way that they've gone through and and qualified for Europe. And what I like as well is that he's been on that journey that Ipswich want to have, which is you sustain in the Premier League, you can build your way up the division season on season, you get into Europe, you have that experience, and Brighton have been in that position for quite a while now. That's the path that Ipswich want. And to have someone who's been so instrumental in that over the years as Sod ch, I think could be really, really important. So um yeah, I'm sure there'll be good interest in him, especially from the bottom end of the Premier League and possibly some interest abroad as well. But if Ipswich have the opportunity, he'd certainly he'd certainly be one I would be looking at. Definitely. And um I think we're gonna actually continue with that source, as you mentioned just a minute ago. Um and uh they've also linked town with another player uh who's been linked with many clubs, and that is uh Ethan Nenweri. I cannot say his name, so I hope he doesn't sign. He is a very promising player. Um it's an interesting one way to say it, because how it's like NW . Um but I'm sure a lot of people who are listening and watching this right now will probably heard of him. Um, of course, Arsenal uh Star let um ended the season alone at Marseille, didn't sound like it was that great there. Um, but yeah, he burst on the scene, didn't he AJ? It's like a 15-year-old. Um, and he you know played a good amount of games for Arsenal but he's sort of now probably on a a new journey um and yeah he's been linked to town and and many others. Yeah a r a real talent and someone who Arsenal holding real high regard and Nicola Arteta does uh does as well. Um but the way that Arsenal are heading is similar as a Brighton, it is Ethan Wanieri going to match that uh kind of ambition that, that path given the options that they've got on the right side to England internationals heading to the World Cup in Saka . And uh who is the other one? What's his name? Noni Madweke, that's the one. Um and and whether Nanieri will will be able to kind of match that is difficult and he needs to go and also play regular minutes as well. That lone spell that he had at Marseille is the first one he's had away from Arsenal in his career , um, and he's only actually ended up playing 34 um 34 games in the Premier League for Arsenal. Did he score against town? Have I totally imag ined that? He may have done. I can't remember top of the book. I need to double check that. I think he might have done . Yeah, in the 21s. Or was it in no? I tell you what, he did. He did. I've just had a look. Ethan Wenier did actually score against Ipswich. It was in that four-nil defeat of the road. He scored the fourth guard. I was thinking, hang on, I'm sure, I'm sure he came on and did that. Yes, Ethan Wenieri did score at Portman Road in that 4-0 defeat to Arsenal uh in the the last Premier League season. Um he was young then, he's 19 now, so still really young player, and still one I think that Arsenal want to keep hold of. Yet there has been interest and talk to that. Um we've had uh team talk again who are reporting that uh Como are discussing a potential move could be a loan, uh, straight loan could, be a loan with an option to buy, could be a permanent transfer. So options open there, seemingly. Um, and there are other clubs also looking at potential moves, Newcastle, Villa, Everton. Um, and of course, that's bunch them together again, Coventry and Ipswich as well. As also Bristol Dortmund and RB Leipzig. So again, already a lot of alarm bells going with A, the source that isn't overly reliable, and B the fact that a lot of clubs have been linked it yeah, I'm not too sure on how reliable this one is going to be and it would be an ambitious move for town for sure because of the reputation, because of the quality, you know, what a player like uh Nuanieri would bring. Ultimately, he needs to go somewhere that he's going to play minutes, and it's going to be an interesting one to see whether that would take him away from Arsenal on a permanent basis to a team like Como be we pla'ylling Champions League football possibly with even as on up top who knows um or whether that might be somewhere else in the Premier League whether that could be a loan um and what the best options for him would be verdict on this one, not sure on the source, and also don't think it's going to be an overly realistic move for Ipswich to get done. I don't think he'll be heading to town or to Coventry. Um, I think that there will be established Premier League sides who'd be happy to give him an opportunity um to to play regularly next season, either online or permanently. And I think that it might be one that Ibs just fall short of. Yeah, and as it stands, Ovanazon is a Champions League striker. So we'll see what his future holds. Maybe that's something we can discuss in a late episode. But let's talk AJ about another um sort of starlet back in the day, still, you know, still young. Um that is Harvey Elliott, a twenty-three year old, of course, um at Liverpool, but he's been on loan at Aston Villa. A bit of a nightmare, unfortunately, there at Villa Park, although he is a Europa League winner with them. Um they did have a an option to buy, but they didn't because he didn't make the amount of appearances he needed to make um in town or among many clubs interested, but he would cost town pretty penny if he did sign permanently, my friend. Yeah, so let's get the elephant in the room out of the way. This one's come from a journalist called Ekrem Con ur, who's reporting via sports boom. Um reliability scale probably about as low as you can get, unfortunat ely, in this case. Um again, I don't want to disrespect anyone, but this is just how how it has to be seen and and looked at. And you've got to be you've got to take the the the right view when it comes to these kind of rumours because they will drown you otherwise with everything that can come out. But let's look at this rumour anyway. Claims that Ipswich and Coventry are looking to invest in kind of top level players. They have been linked with Harvey Elliott, as have RB Leipzig, who are supposedly at the front of the queue, uh, with Sunderland and Leeds also in the mix. Um, yeah, it's talk of kind of the initial obligation to buy that would have happened if uh he'd played enough games was around the 30 million pound mark, I believe. Um again, you're looking at kind of 25 to 30 million according to the report to sign him here. It didn't work Aston Villa. Una Emri just didn't want him essentially. And what that meant is that he got no opportunities because Villa knew that if he played 10 Premier League games, that would trigger a permanent move and Villa didn't want that to happen. So Una Emory didn't play him. So he's had the campaign from hell. Um, and it'll be interesting to see now what happens with him because I don't think that he's got a future under Arna Slaughter Anfield. Will that be another loan move? Will that be a permanent move? That remains to be seen. The versatility option is obviously really good, especially from an IPSwitch perspective, because they're going to need a number 10 and a right winger, probably starters uh this season, uh sorry, this summer going into next season . Um again, lightning on the errand, I think this is going to be one that uh is going to be a little bit too ambitious for Ipswich. Um big name, but also just with that source , don't think it is one that Ipswich are really going to be actively pursuing. And I think that he might end up at uh a team that have managed to establish themselves in the Premier League. But fun and exciting that we're back here and talking about Ipswich being linked with uh Ethan Laneri and Harvey Elliott, isn't it? This is uh what promotion brings. Yes indeed. But yeah, I can just imagine there's just some reporters out there and other journalists and just general, they just wake up and go, Oh, you know, today I'm gonna go and pick that player and I'm gonna link them with this club, this club, this club, this club. Um, and they just hope it sticks. Um sometimes it does stick, um, but then you know, and they talk take their credit. But um yeah, we're gonna get many more of these links, I'm sure AJ, um, throughout the summer. Um and let's talk about a player that's not been linked to town, but has um it's probably gonna have some Premier League interest, and that is Jamie Vardy my friend. Um we're gonna discuss it on the podcast. Peefi wants this to happen. Um but I wanna see your feelings on it. Um just been playing in Italy, um got relegated from Syria , but he's a player that scored many goals in the Premier League, won the Premier League with Leicester . What do you reckon? He's 40, isn't he? Soon, or he's 40. So 40, 40 in January. Um this is an interest ing one. He doesn't really age, does he? Like he's ridiculous. He's he's thirty-nine years old. He played twenty-nine games in the Italian top flight , started twenty-four of them and got seven goals and nine assists for a team that got relegated. Um scored the winner against Udinese, scored in the three and a win against Palma sorry against um Pisa, assist against Lazio, goal and assist against Cagliari, two goals against Bologna. He scored against Juventus. A hell of a stint that he's had out there. And the he's going to leave this summer following relegation the the the rumors suggest that he still fancies himself as a Premier League player and why not why not when you can deliver like this ? Um yeah, so it's a real credit to him . Two different ways that I look at this one. On the one hand, I think that this would make a lot of sense if he does want to come back and play in the Premier League, for Ipswich to be looking at a player like Jamie Vardy. He's got the experience. He's got kind of I wouldn't put him in the leadership category, but when you've gone and done everything that he's done and you've got young players coming through and players who are going to really look up to him and what he was able to achieve. He's also done what a lot of other Ipswitch players have done, which has come from about as low down as you can, to then go and play in the Pierrem League to then win the Premier League. I mean, obviously, no town players have gone and done that at this point, but um that kind of journey has to be seen as an inspiration. So off the pitch, really good things. On the pitch, do I think he could handle the Premier League? Yes, absolutely. He was playing Premier League football can we call it last season, season before? I don't really know what to call it. In 2024, 25 anyway, with Leicester, where he scored nine and assisted four. I think he could do that again. 100%. I really think that he can. Um the concerns will probably come a little bit more with how would he fit a Kieran McKenna team? How would that works stylistically I'm not quite as sure as as to whether that would be the right fit knowing that the strikers at town need to be able to have a real physical presence, hold up the ball, bring others into play. We saw that from the lap, we saw that from George Hurst, but in every other regard, I think that ticks the box. And for a team that's going to need two strikers this summer, I think a real dominant, powerful, uh top-tier starter, you're also going to need cover, you're also going to need someone who, assuming that George Hurst stays, which I'd expect he will, can compete there. Um, Jamie Vardy would be a really interesting option to have. And I like the idea of of going down maybe a more experienced route as that other number nine. So you'd have your big marquee name to lead the line week in, week out, and then you've got George Hurst, who's done it before in the Premier League for Ipswich, and also someone who's got that experience and and can bring stuff off the bench . You are on mute. I was going so well. I thought I was segueing perfectly there. But yeah, I was going to say you want to let us know your thoughts, your feelings in a comments and Jamie Varley. Just a just a random play just to chuck out there. Um I was also gonna ask you about Callum Wilson, AJ, but you saying West Ham could potentially sign him on a new contract, so um yeah. Yeah, I we'll have to wait and see, but that's the kind of market that I see. Callum Wilson was someone who Ipswitch had looked at in January uh as a potential option. Nuno did not fancy him at all. It's very clear that they're on very different pages at the moment, or had been previously, and then he scored against Spurs, scored the winner there, and everything changed and he ended up staying. Has that relationship between Nuno and Wilson recovered. We know that Nuno's going to be staying with West Ham in the championship next season. That's been agreed. That's done and announced. Wilson's already made some jokes on match the day, I think it might have been, saying that Nuno doesn't like him. Um and I'm not sure. There's been an Instagram post that the Wilson put out which hinted at this is the end of the road for him at West Ham. There have been reports that have come out saying that he might end up actually signing a new deal and staying in the championship. Um so we'll have to wait and see. I I'd still think to be honest, despite what I told you about that those those rumours of an a new deal that the likelihood is that he will leave West Ham. Um so yeah, that would be another one who'd fit the bill really nicely. Um the caveat being if they're shopping in the same market as Coventry, he's a Coventry lad. He's a Coventry uh boy. I think he came through the ranks there , so that might have uh uh a bit of an impact if they're in the same kind of market, but that's the fit for me, someone to compete with uh with Hurst and and and whoever comes in as the starting number nine, having that experience, Jamie Vardy, Callum Wilson, someone like that, I think could be really beneficial. You talk about having leaders, but having experienced number nines who scored consistent goals in the Premier League, I think would be really, really beneficial for an Ipswich team that um despite having more experience than the other two promoted teams, I I think could do with a little bit more, especially in the final third. Yes, indeed. Well, we shall wait and see. Both of you enjoyed this latest transfer talk. Um a quick little update, AJ, on a a town low knee, uh Dan Neil course, um who was linked to Spain, uh Valencia in the last transfer talk. But um it sounds like Rangers are gonna win the race to sign him and um it's not a bad move for him. I know it's you can go into Scotland, but you know, that's where you can really push on and and hopefully m be part of a t a Rangers team that uh they just signed Laura Shangland who just been scoring goals for hearts and I'm sure they're trying to push to to win another title there but uh yeah your thoughts on Daniel going to ranges potentially yeah I I think that wherever he ends up I I like the obviously I like the Valencia movie that sounds great doesn't it being able to go up there I wouldn't be convinced that with the options that Valencia have and and Javiguera, for example, who's a really talented young midfielder, assuming that he was to stay and and then having other players there, how does he get into the team? Do you have another situation where you're on the fringes trying to get your way back in uh into a new league, into a new culture, that's quite difficult. I think that Rangers feels like a more suitable destination for at least his career, even if it might not be as as uh attractive as Valencia might be, uh, with no disrespect to Glasgow. Um but yeah, you can't kind of disregard Scotland. I I know that Rangers tried to sign uh Dan Neil in January, it didn't happen because Town had more money on the table for things like loan fees and covering wages. But now with Town probably out of the picture and looking for something different, a move to rangers could make a lot of sense. They've seemingly offered him a kind of a leadership role. I'm not sure I don't think that'll be the captain necessarily, but as kind of being part of the leadership group within Rangers, you'd be playing European football, you're challenging for a title, but the most important thing for Dan Neil, playing week in, week out, regular football, not doing the world of good. And then you're at a spot where if you can impress, then in two, three years time when you're 25, 26, however old, he'll be in that point. Then you can look at um trying to kick on again and see if you can become that established Premier League player who's who's contributing regularly to a Premier League side. He's not there yet. I I think that's quite clear. But this would um be a a a pretty clever move for him if that's one that he ends up making. As I said, he's on my X Blue spreadsheet and I'm ready to change his club because at the moment he's a free agent. Um not technically he's still got a contract with Sunderland, but it runs out on a 30th of June as contract runs out. But AJ, another transfer talk in the books. Um final thoughts, any other business you want to check out there? Um we're gonna hopefully see the retain list. Probably next time we record a transfer talk we'll um we'll record other videos prior to that. But we'll do um try to talk and yeah, be interesting. Maybe other players who who maybe got released or other links. But uh yeah, any other business, my friend? No, no other business. Hoping we'll get the uh the retain list soon, so keep an eye on that. We'll probably do quite a lot of video deep dive stuff into that and who's going on, what's gonna happen, plenty of written stuff coming up. Um so we hope to tackle some of that next week and then uh we can kick on from there into some sexy transfer stuff the transfer targets pieces are coming um I've already got one earmarked I don't want to go too early on telling you guys what it's gonna be but you're not gonna have to wait too long. I'd say around a fortnight is what I'll I'll hint at with that one. So uh yeah keep your eyes peeled. Nice one. I'm just gonna double check. Of course last summer um the first signing just going to quickly I think it was David Button which, was uh very sexy indeed. Um I'm just seeing what date that was when they first signed a player. Um because then you sort of I know that doesn't mean you know that's gonna happen this summer, but it's good to d know. Fourth of July that was. Um and that was the first signing of the summer. So yeah, I hope we haven't got to wait until July. But uh the transfer window opens on the fifteenth of June. Um I'm sure there's talks. When look at last Premier League season, where was the first signing? I think that was in June. Amari Hudson was 30th of June. Um course signing permanently from Chelsea. Then Ben Johnson was the day after, the first of July . Um and then a lot of ones in July, Jacob Greaves, Lynn Delat was the thirteenth of July, seventeenth of July was Moorich. Um and then a lot in August of course, then players on loan. Um they're August as well. So um yeah, we shall see AJ, my friend. But thanks for joining me. Thanks everyone for watching. Another Issues Town transfer talk. Hope you enjoy your weekend. The sun um is shining. Uh enjoy it and we'll be back next time to bring you more transfer rumours and links. See you next time. Bye for now.
