They believe in what they call the mosaic, where you move to that country, but you still keep your language. You still keep your culture. You still keep your enclave. You have entire cities that are exclusively not French, not English, where people in their own land would feel like foreigners That's a different approach. And well, if you come to this country, you immediately assimilate. Right And then you have a list, a bullet point list. And so in Europe too, second generation, even third generation, migrants, they're actually far less likely to assimilate than you would see, for example, here in the United States. The process is longer And it gets even worse if there's a larger group of immigrants, if they come in at the same time like simultaneously, the more they live in proximity to other people from their previous country, the less likely they are to assimilate. So you will find people in France who are second or third generation migrants who still don't speak the language, who still don't feel at home in France because they are taught Basically they're there to take advantage of the system, but they're not really French That's the issue We need to have the conversation Here in the United States, because Europe won't have it. what does it mean to be American? and be very consistent in enforcing those expectations Because today, a lot of immigrants do not assimilate. It is not the same as your grandfather, your great grandfather, who came here with a nickel in his pocket. He reviled the oppression that he left most of the time and was grateful for the opportunity. Let me give you some examples here in the United States. The housing bill, which is monumental It would seemingly have a huge impact. and this is the first time that anyone to my recollection, has tried to do something of significance to lower the price of housing and to actually, I would say, recalibrate, correct the markets that have been grossly distorted through government intervention. Wh did it worked You actually listen to them All right, so for those of you who are new, this was last year, I gave a six point policy prescription on how to not fix, but how to improve the cost of housing because for young Americans, it seems very much out of reach, increasingly so Here's that segment. So let me walk you back through it, six point plan, okay, just to make sure there's no misinterpretation, Ban of purchases from institutional investors or foreign investors on single family home units. Only citizens, local permanent residents can buy homes with Very strict verification, severe penalties for anyone housing, renting to or selling homes to illegal aliens along with increased deportations. An immigrant legal immigrant renting period for the first two years of residency, incentivize starter homes on the builder' side with tax breaks, tax credits, and then incentivize first time home buyers with a tax deduction for that first year Okay. Now I know that it's wishful thinking as far as the immigration issues because that would require a different level of support and it would also require different legislation. But Tuesday House and Senate overwhelmingly passed what they are calling the twenty first century Road to Housing Act Overwhelming support, by the way, when peopleople say there can't be bipartisan support in the House threeree hundred and fifty eight To thirty two. Jeez. The Senate eighty five to five Ten people didn't voter You got some people who didn't have I it's funny, like you just vote presents. It's like, it's your job. And it is important for you to see, hey, every now and then you have people who listen. There are correction mechanisms here. Like we suggested, it bans institutional investors from buying up single family homes. That's huge. And we know without having all the numbers I suggested like, hey, would have to be someone probably local because you want local home providers, landlords, youd probably have to find out what The number is as a cutoff, they just they have a cutoff. In institutional investors qualified as any group, any corporation owning three hundred fifty homes or more That makes it because of course Black Rock, Vanguard, they end up being the majority or the most significant shareholders in these companies that buy up ten, eighty something thousand homes. thenen you obviously have Blackstone who just buy up homes, I believe themselves. They do in a roundabout way. Basically, if a company owns three hundred fifty homes, specifically single family homes, Okay you're not alive anymore You're allowed to do I hope they don't have any loopholes with that where we can just set up different companies to own these things and around. So yeah.ah, But it seems like the step in the right direction. They're actually putting a line in the sand and saying, Hey, this is the target. You can't go above this. Yeah. there is a sunset provision after fifteen years, which I'm not a fan of That's in there, so at least for fifteen years I will to bet that if we see a huge correction in housing prices, that make a sunset provision will It'll just be struck down. a Plack Peble company. Where did they come from? Black Pebble Was that a real company? Nope. I had no idea. I was confused. job. I was confused. It could be there's so many black stone, blackack point, Back. Now we're gonna see ten more Black face. And those are just the coffee shops Yep Point number twoace this act it creates a funding stream to help first time home buyers. And a little bit different from just to be clear, just a handout So the fund for things like down payments, closing costs, interest rate buy downowns It's actually going to be paid for by the financial penalties or at least most of them to the institutional investors. going into this fund who have gone past that three hundred fifty. So basically anyone who violates this, anyone who's caught in violation, that's going to be used as a fund to help people with homes. I don't know how that'll be in practice, but that's a step in the right direction. When people talk about correcting, when people talk about the billionaires and trillionaires, that class taking advantage of people. This is a direct reaction. Point number three It's going to make building homes more affordable, more profitable. They're going to help streamline approval for starter homes like cottage courts is an example. We talked about that reducing red tape. Some has to be done locally, but there are quite a few things that can be done federally, and that's what they're doing right now. Unfortunately, I will say the cottage office concept never really caught on A homes are nicer'sust me every day of my life. Now remember, this is no small thing. That's ninety four thousand dollars Yeah is baked into a fixed price for a home, just regulations, red tape Right. you reduce that. And you reduce the hyperinflation because of institutional investors buying up these homes so they can jack up the prices, for example, in Atlanta in areas of Texas This could lower the costs of homes. they could drop like a stone if implemented correctly. Yeah, and this wasn't just the natural movement of the market. So things started to get really out of whack in the home market and that's what they're trying to address right now. With institutional investors, it's really hard for people to buy homes. huge massive interest rate changes right now. And then also the price of homes just going Way up in all of these areas. So people couldn't even afford to do it because home builduers couldn't afford to make new ones at a fast enough pace, cheap enough to make a difference. Yeah. These address all of those issues. And like start to. They start perfect examples like Atlanta, anywhere from twenty percent to thirty percent of homes in the Atlanta area, I believe, owned by institutionalagers So imagine These people control that market, they can jack up prices. It's a growing market. They get to set the price, and then new homes can't be built because it's too costly and the red tape makes them unbelievably expensive out of reach. So you just have to take it on the chin this would solve a lot of those problems. Again, if implemented correctly, without simply being a handout, without simply being, hey, by the way, banks, you have to give a loan to people with no money down who have no way of paying this house back It's a way to approach it that actually is in line with your values and actually looks out for the American people. It's America first without being unbelievably intrusive government intervention or meddling. Now I will say on the final point, like we discussed, it is It doesn't do much with immigration. But remember, this administration has attacked FHA loans to non permanent residents separately. We covered that. Like that's a big thing and they lowered dramatically, specifically, also that deals with like H oneBs and a lot of people. Yeah. So that is a step in the right direction. You do that, you combine that with a secure border, you combine that with net negative migration, add all this up. You could see a real difference in the next couple of years for people looking to buy a home. So save up Be responsible with your finances and let's wait and see. I think this is going the right way. Yeah, I think it's going the right way, which makes his requirement of the Save Act. All that more perplexing to me because not because I don't think the Sve act is important. it's probably the most important thing he could possibly do.
