It looks like a Norway fjord. Yeah Yeah. good It's a goodise comparison. It's crazy So she's out there enjoying some much needed time off and nature was mult Very delightful music. I hope she's having a good time But the three of us today are going to be taking a look at the unsolved disappearance of Lisa Dorian and this is in case out of Ireland. that has been unsolved for quite a while now at this point. overver twenty years And it's veryer mysterious because there's There's a few theories But it seems like Law enforcement as well as Lisa's family are pretty sure they know Wh is responsible for her disappearance And the police have even ruled this case a homicide at this point without having really anything to backack that up. rightight. And as far as we know. Right, rightight. As far as we know, there's no murder weapon, there's no body There there's nothing in yet. I believe it was day nine they told Lisa's family like this is now a murder investigation. So my guess is that there's they have something that is leading them that direction. They wouldn't just make that determination without something However Despite doing that so quickly after she disappeared, it's been a lot of years with very little answers And her disapparance is very mysterious because she was basically just out kindind of at a party, you get together and then just vanished. That was it. There were some flashing lights. And seems like there was only a one witness to the last moments that she was seen, and then she just poof vanish on And there's, you know, this area of Ireland, Northern Ireland specifically Uh If you know anything about the history of Ireland, which I didn't know. M at all. I'd heard just tit, you know, tidbits over the years, but I didn't realize How much conflict has been going on there for so long. and I mean Well from the sixties all the way up to then starting in the seventeen hundreds, you know, Like Yeah it's this is it's the long scars of colonialism, like in many ways that are still there today and there's paramilitary groups operating up there and It seems like there's some angle involving one of these paramilitary groups that are still operating in that region, you know involved in organized crime and things like that who are very violent that may have been involved in her disappearance. So A very mysterious case, a very sad one as well. I mean Lisa's family, her sister have no idea still to this day what happened to her. So we're going to be diving into it. Hopefully bring a little bit of light to thoseose of you out there who haven't heard Lisa's case before, So let's get into things here because like I said, Northern Ireland was no stranger to violent acts and strange disappearances as a result of the troubles, which is an armed conflict and we'll talk about it more here in a little bit, that lasted over thirty years And still by the early two thousands, it seemed as though the region had achieved some semblance of normalcy I think there would be a lot of people that might be like things were still going. but yeah, absolutely. That was until two thousand five when Lisa Dorian attended a party at a caravan park with her new friend group. and this group Her family feared was involved in criminal activity However, after the party, Lisa was never seen again, and her family is left only with a strange story from the last person who'd seen her. He said that at the party there were strange flashing lights that appeared outside of the caravan And then Lisa ran off And that was it N saw, never to be seen again Now over twenty years later Lisa's case remains unsolved and her body has never been found Theories range from a sey new friend group, convicted murderers and ties to paramilitary organizations, turnurn to criminal activities following the end of the troubles Still, the question remains what happened to Lisa Dorian Lisa was born in nineteen seventy nine and primarily lived in Bangore County Down, which is one of the most remote parts of Northern Ireland. Her mother Patricia was a native of Oldham, Lancasher, England when she fell in love with John Doran as an ulster manan which is a native essentially of Northern Ireland The couple moved to Bangor shortly after Lisa's birth, and there they began starting their family Lisa was the oldest of four sisters with Joanne, Michelle, and Baby Sierra all considered younger than her Joanne said that as children, both she and Michelle looked up to their older sister quite a bit. Michelle said that they were all extremely close despite the age gap and that Lisa had a real presence even as a child. Lisa was described as friendly and feisty and wouldn't let anybody walk over her The girl's favorite activity was playing offices in which they put on their mother's clothes and pretended to be at work tons of really good memories as sisters and we're always extremely close. And that thing that I admire a lot about Lisa's family is they're very tight knit and they definitely have never given up on Lisa or each other stuck very close together throughout the past you know, two decades. Yeah, despite You know horrible, horrible times And due to this idyllic childhood, the girls and their family were largely sheltered from the rise of the sectarian violence that surrounded them in Northern Ireland during a period known as the troubles Now it's important that we get a little bit of a crash course in the history of the troubles as it really does factor into some of the most popular theories surrounding Lisa's disappearance And honestly, I needed it for my own sake because It is very confusing. It's a lot of history. And it's a very complex, very complex conflict. And I think too a lot of especially in the US, the most we hear about the troubles is just like, the IRA or like these pictures of guys in ski masks, but we don't really know the roots of those conflict or of the echoes of the conflict after. Yeah So to explain the intricacies of politics in Northern Ireland, we'd likely need a lot more time than we have today like a whole semester or more. Yeah. there are courses. Yeah It's important to note that the split with the rest of the island began in the sixteen hundreds, with Protestant English settlers colonizing much of the area from the native Irish population And violence broke out in the seventeen hundreds, but still lines were drawn between the Northern Irish ulsters. are largely Protestant and the Catholic Native Irish to the south In nineteen nineteen, the Irish War of Iependence began against the British occupiers, which culminated in its nominal independence in nineteen twenty two And by nineteen forty nine, the Irish Free state had become fully separated from the English crrown However, six counties in Northern Ireland mainly populated by The descendants of the Protestant colonizers chose to remain part of the United Kingdom setting the stage for all the violence to come The start date of the Troubles is nineteen sixty six, with sectarian groups in Northern Ireland focused on either trying to rejoin the free state or remain loyal to the English crrown While much of the historical record focuses on the actions of the IRA which fought for Northern Irish independence. In Lisa's case, the most important groups were those loyal to the English crown. and the Protestant Church The Ulster Defense Association was formed in nineteen seventy one and at its peak it contained Tens of thousands of members. There's a lot of people. I mean, I think this is another thing that we don't really know because we, you know, we do have some know, sectarian groups in the U.S, quote unquote, They're not doing anything like this, of course This is a small army, you know, There are far more people involved these in these northern Irish groups than we could even conceive of really Yeah, no, in organizing Red. During the Troubles, the UDA had killed hundreds of people, mainly Catholics in some of the most notorious acts of the entire conflict. This included the shooting of five Catholics at a Belfast Bookmakers's in nineteen ninety two and the Gracdale Massacre of nineteen ninety three, in which UDA Gunman walked into a bar in Londory Village and shot seven people to death. I mean, this is serious violence going on a very scary time R to live in this area And as the attack took place, the day before Halloween, one of the gunmen shouted trick or treat before firing And then there was the UVF or the Ulster Volunteer Force who were responsible for murdering more than five hundred people during the troubles. They even shot and killed the first police officer to be murdered during the conflict. So they just did not care No That will. firing on whoever And then most important to this episode is the Loyalist Volunteer Force or the LVF, as we'll be referring to them as which is one of the most violent groups considering its small size The group itself was formed late in the conflict being founded in nineteen ninety six after Billy Wright splintered from the UVF during the peace process. He resisted, opting for more conflict with the IRA and Catholics in the region And he was banned from Northern Ireland by the UVF, but instead founded the LVF and proceeded to conduct at least twenty killings all targeting Catholics in the region Billy himself was murdered in the Ms prison in nineteen ninety seven. this group lived on in these sort of paramilitary groups, right to the st T this day. they're still around and I think like, you know, there's some debate about like what for these loyalist groups, like what they're purpose in killing all these people was to many, they believe a lot of the times they would just kill someone for the fact that they were Catholic, regardless of their political affiliations. it was just If we know you're Catholic, you you're a target basically. old blood So despite all of these violent subgroups, the largest killing of the conflict was still conducted by the British Army on january thirtieth, nineteen seventy two, which nicknamed Bloody Sunday in which they shot thirteen unarm men at an ante internment rally. bolstered the IRA, which now not only felt like they were fighting for independence, but also defending their countrymen from colonial rule bombings, shootings and battles lasted until nineteen ninety eight, when the Good Friday agreement was signed the total debt amounting to one thousand eight hundred and forty people, largely civilians. And while the conflict may have finally ended, these groups didn't just disappear. Loyalist groups turn to criminality and drug dealing, effectively becoming mobs, but more on that later. stillill, you would expect that for the Dorians being a Catholic family and a largely Protestant community The troubles would have touched their home. Instead, they were almost entirely removed from the conflict Lisa's mother Patricia, said her relatives in England knew more about the conflict than they did calling and asking, what about the bomb? What about the trouble in Belfast Patricia responded, I would say it was news to me. I haven't even turned on the TV yet. So it's like they are kind of in this I wouldn't necessarily say bubble because it's all around them, but You know, her family in England is more tuned into what's happening than they are. likeike They are pretty far removed from everything That's wild. I You would have expected the opposite, right? R So Lisa's sister, Joanne recalled, I remember one year going to the zoo with my dad and we were driving through East Belfast. I saw debris on the road, burnt out cars. I asked my dad why they were there because I hadn't a clue about the violence going on just fifteen miles away in Belfast We are wrapped in cotton wool up in Bangor Still, evidence of the troubles lingered in their neighborhood chiseled into the stone entrance were the letters FTP, meaning fuck the Pope And two plaques on the main street in Bang were celebrated, killings conducted by the Red Hand commommando, another offshoot of the UVF. Lisa and her sisters though still enjoyed a rather peaceful, sheltered life from the violence Once the peace agreement was reached in nineteen ninety eight, many believed that would be the end of the killings. and the family continued to grow. Lisa welcomed her baby sister, Sierra continued the close relationship with her other two sisters She and Michelle attended numerous house parties with Lisa's childhood friend group, alongside her long term boyfriend, Jamie. She was extremely positive about her future and her friend group And as Lisa entered her early twenties, her family had nothing to worry about. Lisa worked as a shop assistant throughout most of this time at a sandwich shop in Bangor was able to rent out her own flat However, in two thousand, Lisa fell on a mall escalator in Banger suffered substantial injuries to her legs. After a series of operations, Lisa was left with permanent half moon scars on both of her legs According to her mother, ever since then all she wore was boots, even on holiday Lisa's favorite were a pair of furry white moon boots that she wore nearly every single day That must have been a really serious. I know. escalator accident. That's the only description I could find what happened was that she just fell on it, but yeah, like so much so to have multiple operations. Multiple operations and permanent scarring on her legs. I mean, I assume Part of her leg must have got stuck in the escalator. Right or like, yeah, she fell and just like ran over it as it was running through the, you know into the little crack in the floor. I don't know, that's crazy. since I've never heard of an escalator doing something that serious to someone. Or I know they, you know, they recommend don't wearing open toed shoes on escalators because tooast can get true. It could have been that. That's crazy though. However, things were looking up for Lisa in the summer of two thousand four. She had been informed that a settlement agreement had been reached for her injuries and she was going to receive a payment of fifty thousand pounds She was elated and knew that this amount of money could be life changing. I mean, fifty thousand pounds all at once. That is an extreme amount of money, especially for someone so young Yeah, that is life changing money. Right she planned to leave Northern Ireland once she received the money in the summer of two thousand five and moveved to Spain where she wanted to start a jet ski rental business She'd even met with a financial advisor to help establish this new business. Maybe not weird to me, but it's kind of an odd coincidence that she was going to go to Spain and What' summer of two thousand four or whatever and only Like three months removed from that was the Madrid train bombings, which was like a whole coordinated like pretty massive terror attack inpain, where I think it was like Almost two hundred people died or something like that, where I'm like going from troubles Right. Yeah. an armed conflict to another are to Spain ha its. That's curious. Yeahah I never even consider that. that's probablybably just a an unfortunate coincidence, but still, you know Yeah, I wonder why Spain out of out of all the places. I mean Geographically I guess it's suuper, super far But they also made no shortage of enemies. I mean I have no place to talk. American. I mean They were also a huge part of colonization throughout the Middle Age which is I mean, we give a lot of shit to England and France, rightfully so Spanish also did a lot of colonizing, especially around the Middle East. so I mean Yeah, Yeah, pick your raisin. Right. I mean, it's again, it's kind of like the horrible shadow in the background of this whole case and I mean, the whole world in general, but Yeah, I don't know, I don't know. But that wasn't the only change that happened in Lisa's life during the summer of two thousand four She and Jamie's relationship, which had lasted about four years, had come to an end While it wasn't devastating, the main issue was that they had a lot of the same friends. And it was difficult to hang out with them without Jamie tagging along. Lisa told her sister Joanne, I don't know how I'm going to move forward with all of this And Joanne suggested that she just get new friends for a while. which I think A lot of us can relate to that. now dating somebody and you're like, Ah, but all my friends are hurt. Who am I gonna hang out with? His friends. Yeah. so you gott to go find new friend group And that's exactly what she did According to her family, Lisa was vivacious, attractive, party loving, and ultimately a very open hearted person. And so it wouldn't take long for Lisa to find a whole new friend group with whom she mainly went out during the weekends to various raves, clubs, and parties across Northern Ireland. Unfortunately, this new group was tapped into the sior parts of the club scene They were supplied with drugs from various loyalist militias that now operated criminal syndicates in the area And many of the members of this new friend group had connections to the looyalist militias or were members themselves One was a member of the Red Hand Commando and another had connections with the UDA before he began selling drugs the LVF This group of new friends, who were still mostly women spent the weekend consuming industrial quantities of ecstasy and amphetamines supplied by the militias And unfortunately, Lisa began using alongside them Michelle was among the first to notice the change. The two had grown close as they went out together for years, often going to parties or pubs But this new friend group took Lisa to weekend long raves or benders cararavan part which in the US we would call trailer park And this is really where Michelle and Lisa began to differ and eventually how Lisa's new friend group would become concealed from the family The family definitely noticed a decline in Lisa, especially when it came to her weight They knew that Lis had been watching her weight for so long and had tried numerous diets to no effect. But now Suddenly they could see her hip bones and she seemed quite pleased with her body But still, the family knew that if nothing had worked in the past, then something was obviously different this time And of course, that difference was use. I think for a lot of people, you know, you can kind of tell when a family member begins to use drugs heavier or just substances in general, you know They might say, no, no, no, but you're so used to the, you know, demeanor And if you see them all the time, like it's very obvious when yeah, a family member starts using some sort of substance, especially when it's affecting uh, you know, the normal mannerisms that they have where way they look or you know, they're shaking or something like that. So yeah, it was pretty obvious to them that she was using Eventually Lisa's drug habit became so strong that she gave up her job and began to become increasingly reliant on a man who lived in East Belfast. And this man was Lisa's new boyfriend. He had known loyalist connections And he showered Lisa with gifts, vacation offers, and of course, drugs By Christmas two thousand four, Lisa was in such a state of physical and mental torment that she agreed to see a counselor She wrote a Christmas card to her mother that said she was giving up the habit hard read Drugs are for mugs And I am a mug, no more. It was around the time that Joanne asked Lisa what her new boyfriend did for work Jne said implied that he was a joiner, which is a term for a carpenter. But there was never any signs of tools in his house During the week, he was always there instead of being at work was getting very suspicious. and the only thing we could guess at was that he was a drug dealer And even though Lis had promised to stop using, her family continued to notice her weight decline Joanne said Lisa always had a nice figure, but by Christmas she had dropped to a size eight It's unhealthy although she was still pleased with her body By January, Lisa's mother nots that she'd become less welcoming to the family whenever they came over to her home She said I remember passing by her house and just popped in to see her And one of her friends was at home. and when I asked where Lisa was, she replied that she hadd just gone to the shop. Then the guy they were worried about came downstairs and without explanation, he said he had to go I'm sure she was not at the shop at all. My gut instinct was said she was upstairs. avoiding me Joanne also recalled a time when she saw a car parked in Lisa's driveway covered in scum and scratched all over She asked Lisa what happened to the car and she just made some excuse and moved on as if nothing happened However, despite this distance from her family, Lisa seemed to be in high spirits during the last week of February two thousand five A photograph taken around this time showed her in her furry moon boots insside the kitchen of her flat in Bangar And her sister Joanne said she was in a very, very good mood She told Dad she was looking forward to the weekend and there was no hint that she was in any sort of trouble However, it was also during this time that Joanne had a frank conversation with her sister about drugs and her new friend group She asked about her new boyfriend and what he really did for a living and about what her plans for the future were Lisa responded, Stop giving me the Spanish Inquisition, Joanne And it was at this point that Joanne thought to herself I need to start finding out about these people and felt that since Lis had not grown up around, theseese types of people She was in a very vulnerable position Good on Jooyant Right. I mean, the family is like, this is this behavior is not going to stop unless we and we can't step in unless we know who she's really hanging out with Yeah, and I mean That must have been a very uncomfortable situation going over there and Clearly having the inkling net No, she's not really gone Rhet. She's upstairs, perhaps you know, on some sort of substance or you know, or just as sleep or, you know Who knows whatever else? right you know, it's like those I feel like as family members, we all have like senses for each other. It's just like you have this intuition to in connection that you're able to just kind of sense when something's not righter. And it seems like Joyan was definitely starting to get in tune with, okay She's not she's obviously not in a great situation physically mentally. but these people that are around her are also Clearly bad for her, right. But also what else are they capable of? What else are they capable of? and what are they hiding from us as the family? Right justess someone to look into her new boyfriend. And they told Jo inne Get Lisa away from him that's a pretty telling statement there Unfortunately, it was too late though. This was around the night of february twenty eighth, two thousand five when Lisa planned to attend a party in a caravan park Vally Halbert betweenetween Friday, february twenty fifth, two thousand five and the end of that weekend, Lisa had quite a few activities First, it's important to note that Lisa and her new boyfriend had actually broken up And she was hoping that this weekend would help her forget about the heartache On Friday night Lisa was socializing in Groomsport before she went to a friend's house in Ballally Walter On Saturday afternoon, she spent time at a pub near Kirk Cubbin before traveling to a party in Bally Halbert. though it's unclear exactly where this party took place. She returned home to Bangmore for several hours before she went to the home of Naomi Dryesdale This party seemed fairly innocuous and lasted into the early morning hours of february twenty seventh. Later in the day, she visited a liquor store in Porto Vogi before she attended a party at a practically deserted caravan park. and Bally Halbert I mean, it's just It's important to kind of stop here and point out like how many activities she's going to this weekend I mean, this is jam packed full of notot only meing out meeting up with people, but you know, drinking likely drugs as well, but You know, she's in public for a lot of it And there's later on, we'll see CCTV footage of her at one of these pubs. like she was seen by a ton of people during this weekend prior to this final night I think there wouldd be a lot more clues or leads or, you know, eyewitnesses to her activities and people she's talking with But It doesn't seem like there's much or those people just don't want to be named or you know, Keep their mouth shut sipped it Now it's important to note that this caravan park was built on the site of a former RAF airfield used during the Second World War The war ended, the region was largely depopulated, say for the tourist season. During the summer, this caravan park could become packed with travelers However, during the bitter cold of February, it looked like a ghost town Lisa attended the party wearing a white t shirt cream colored track bottoms and her signature white furry moon boots alongside Lisa were a dozen other people mostost heavily under the influence of hard drugs Among them was the seventeen year old groundskeeper for the caravan park, Mark Loveitt pererhaps the only sober person at the party who has remained unnamed to this day Reported that Mark and Lisa were hallucinating in the early morning hours. After this person left the party, he called Mark at around one fifteen AM on february twenty eighth to check in on both him and Lisa The sober man said that Mark answered the phone, rambled incoherently spoke about seeing things and then ended the call The rest of this night is rather unclear, especially because the chief witness, Mark, was incredibly intoxicated progressed more and more attendees left, leaving Mark and Lisa alone in the caravan pair continued using heavy amounts of drugs potentially exccessy am amphetamines At around four forty five AM, Mark explained that he and Lisa became frightened when they saw flashing lights and heard voices outside the caravan which is this A hallucination? rightight it actually happened. And their next step was that, you know, once the fear overtook them, they bolted out of the caravan, which is kind of the opposite of what you'd think was happening. If the danger is coming from outside You stay inside. You stay inside And and it makes you wonder Are they still under the influence of that right those substances at that point or Are they just, you know, they've already come down from them and they're sobered up a bit and But even then, I mean, whenever you use a hard substance like that, even after you come down. I mean, you're still not mentally not yourself mean. Yeahah, it's definitely takes some time to recover. So that that is interesting to me like Did they actually see that or was this sort of hallucination or you know, it's just such a strange thing to have like flashing lights, hearing voices and then they just bolt. And what's even stranger is that this is the only story of Lisa's disappearance. Yeah We have nothing else. We have no competing theories. At least publicly, we don't to wear Right Yeah. Mark said that the two were holding hands and sticking together as they ran out of the caravan, but at some point, he just simply lost Lisa And that would be the last time he ever saw her again. And I don't know. I mean, you know That's the other thing is that potentially this story is just Not true. Yeah That's a good point. Could just be completely fabricated, right to confuse and make one believe that Well they were hallucinating, you know, they were they were doing drugs. So Who knows? Wh know they they got paranoid when they were high, you know Meanwhile, later on Sunday, february twenty eighth, Lisa's sister, Joanne called her later in the afternoon However, the call just kept ringing Joanne said, right, not getting to her. It's Sunday night and she's probably hung over Joanne assumed that she'd speak with her sister the following day once she had recovered and had no concerns that she had simply vanished Then at around five AM on Monday, march first, Lisa's now ex boyfriend received a call on a phone that she had left with him in his house He said, Lisa's phone rang, I answered it and it was Mark Loveitt He was ringing me from the caretaker's phone at the caravan park told me that Lisa had disappeared and asked me if I knew where she was. Later that day, Lisa's roommate called Joanne and said Have you seen Lisa Joanne, who just assumed Lisa had been nursing a hangover, said she hadn't It was then that the roommates said that nobody had seen her. and more importantly Nobody could find her Joanne asks more questions, trying to piece together Lisa's movements throughout the weekend The roommate explained that she had been at the caravan party and the guy she was with, Mark called earlier to say that he had no idea where she was. So now Mark's kind of calling around all of the people, these mutual friends they have are just Lisa's roommate telling them like She's gone, you know, I have no idea where she is. but notably, Mark does not call the family members. Definitely I'd say a red flag for Yeah, for many, I mean, why wouldn't you call the people who are actually looking for her and want to know she's okay. Right. And they don't even know really at this point that she is missing And is that because Mark is trying to cover cover up something or is he truly just confused you know, they ran out then he lost Lost track of her. Don't forget to use our link so they know that we sent you So Joanne then called Mark, who told her that she needed to inform the police because I have no idea what happened Joanne called Lisa again and when she didn't pick up for the second day in a row, she knew the situation was gravely serious. Joanne called her mother, Patricia and informed her of the disappearance. She also told her that she was going down to the police station first thing as she'd rather be wrong than be right and not report her She informed the police that Lisa was last seen with people who did heavy amounts of drugs And they responded that they'd report back with whatever they found However, it was still a policy that police would wait up to three days to investigate a missing person's case. I mean, that's even a day more than A lot of places. Yeah, I'm so tired of hearing that so unfortunate and pull that excuse out like,, it hasn't been long enough. She's an adult, she'll come back. Yeah Yeah, even though they're like, no This is everything I've heard R. She was, you know, under the influence She ran out with this guy, this guy's being sketchy. We're concerned about her. Can you at least go take a look? Isn't that their job? Right, is this is what you guys are waiting for. No, they're like, no, no, theyre probably just nursing a hangover somewhere at some random person's house that hasn't reached out to you yet. R or she hasn't reached out to yet.'s that's what's more weird to me is family was like, no She would have reached out to me And she hasn't. We've called her twice So something's wrong. Get off your ass and do something. But again, they just kind of assume that You know, nine times out of ten, the person was just out of contact but would come back soon and of their own volition. Yeah, what about that one out of ten times? Right They've been murdered, like Then the case is unsolved for twenty years. Exactly. And and you're already behind in the investigation waited so long insane just to give tiny bit of credit well, no, credit is the wr word. I guess to give like a little bit of like a Expectation. This is pretty fresh after the troubles. This is pretty fresh after an independence war There's less police, there's less like authority figures who can go out and do these things. Still not an excuse that you wait three days to do it It's also possible at this time there's still a lot of people missing that are unaccounted for or due to all the conflict that was going on. R. That's very true. So it may have been that like Even the people that really want to do something are still overwhelmed. They still don't really know how to do it. notot an excuse. The person's still missing. she's still vulnerable. She's still young and like it should still, you know That day you should go out and try to find the person I guess it is maybe like a rare example of like you know, history likelapping kind of thing. kind of dealing with bigger issues, so to speak, you know Yeah or fallout of Yeah just I mean, you're just missing a bunch of people that you normally would have to lean on to help so Yeah. that's Yeah. maybe they're undermand, under resourced Or it's just bias and they're like, Oh, she was you said she was doing drugs? Okay yeah, we don't care. We don't give a fug yah. That is way too common. And she is also from Northern Ireland Right. I mean it's like theres there's some bias totally. And you know, this is I believe this was the the the police in Bangor too. So this is not like she's going to Belfast where they have more resources, you know, this is a smaller potentially more conservative area as well. So just hearing that Like to both of your points, you know, it could be a mixture of everything, you know. Yeah Either way, it's unfortunate. Right. still find the kids because it's like Time is slipping away and If you've ever investigated a missing personons case, you know, you got to jump on it because it can quickly I mean, the more time you give, the more time somebody has to cover up orr hide a body or hide evidence. So And again, I think it's kind of just unfortunate circumstances most likely of just the timing and you know who was available But And maybe there wass policy even like maybe policy like T' just what we do, you know, just following orders here. so So with that in mind, Joanne decided to drive to the Caravan Park in Ballally Halbert herself to speak with Mark about the last moments anyone had seen her sister And Joanne had never been to Bally Halber in her life and said that once she was driving on the backroads, I mean it is just nothing. It's pitch dark, There's no street lights, it's freezing. I mean, this is an old airfield basically. like there's literally nothing She thought to herself on her drive up there, Lisa wouldn't stand a chance out here. The Cavan park itself, which we previously explained, was largely empty during its off season, was closed at the time for anyone who didn't already work or live there As Joanne drove around, she continued to think, Oh Jesus, she's died of hypothermia. It's February in Bally Halbert is the second coldest month of the year with nighttime temperatures consistently dipping below freezing. we You know, she's out there in the early morning hours It's reallyally damn cold out there Who knows what you know, level of clothing she she left with I mean, it'd be very easy to succumb to the elements, I feel. Right. I mean, if we're going to believe Mark's story, she just ran off into this pitch blackness and and severely under the influence, you know No no one on the roads likely like it That is a very possible scenario And I'm sure if you went and look, there's probably cases of that happening in this area When Joanne actually entered the caravan itself, the first thing she noticed was Mark sitting alone He was on a chair with a baseball cap on. and while she knew he was a very young guy, she also thought He was a mess Mark explained that Lisa had been annoyed with her boyfriend, which fit with the line of events that they may have broken up before the weekend, and Lisa decided to just have a night out Lis had been to the caravan with Mark and he maintained that her boyfriend had not been by since the disappearance Mark even offered to drive Joanne to Lis's boyfriend's flat in Bally Walter And Joanne said that someone she didn't know answered the door Joanne explained that she was Lisa's sister and she had gone missing. personers responded More like missing in the head Yeah, that was extremely rude. Yeah hell. Joanne said this made her realize the caliber of the person she was dealing with and that although these were supposedly Lisa's friends quotequote They showed absolutely no concern for her well being Jone said You just knew they didn't care about her After a few minutes, Lisa's boyfriend appered, though he didn't provide any niceties, nor did he give any indication regarding Lisa's whereabouts. which is also very strange, I would feel like. Yeah. you think Not even like, I'm sorry she's missing. Right like Basically annoyed like they get out of my house out of here After this encounter, Joanne was even more concerned about her sister's disappearance and knew she couldn't rely on the people Lisa had been spending time with Call the police. supportorted what Market said and urged them to ramp up the search. However, no matter how suspicious it seemed, investigators were still relying on this three day cooling off period And the hopes that at Lisa would just resurface on her own And of course, Joanna and the family knew that she would never leave them in the dark for this long. so this was completely out of the ordinary for her no matter what had happened The next day march second, the family ramped up their search efforts and drove together to Ballally Halbert And now it's important to note that while the family was searching in dreary off season portions of Belly Halbert The surrounding county is anything At the time, Northdown was the wealthiest constituency in Northern Ireland with the highest number of millionaires in the province. Locals even had a saying that the area was divided by the haves and the have yachts There you go Hves and haveave yachs. It's a pretty clever saying. I don' lie The Castal region, close to where the family was searching is mainly home to the QC's. stigious senior lawyers, hospital, consultants, senior police officers, Fance directors and leading figures of the Unionist political class, basasically the elites. right Even still, according to a two thousand five article from The Guardian, the looyalist terror groups exerted power and instilled fear across the region. For the Dorians who were now searching the area themselves, the whole place seemed haunted with a sense of ruin that' sinister. So foollowing the search, the family went back to the caravan park and spoke with an office worker. While they had also met Lisa, they provided no additional information as to where she could have gone However, Joanne found this conversation to be very odd. The story the office worker told was the same as Mark's And while that may have made the story more believable perhaps, it also didn't offer any additional information that was useful And so the family had nowhere else to look because there was simply nothing else to go on. It' just kind of like complete circle. and now they're just try at square one again So the only thing the family could really do was search some more They walked across the vast airfield that encompassed Ballally Halbert and said there were just miles and miles of fields Buildings and rubbish lying around everywhere And then their minds the family knew that the best sign to find Lisa would be to find her big, fluffy, white moon boots She didn't go anywhere without them. But stillill, according to the family, there was just nothing there. They remember saying, we're actually looking for Lisa's body since they felt there was simply no way she could have survived the cold weather on her own And still, although they feared for Lisa's life Murder hadn't even occurred to them point Then the police called. After hours of walking around Bally Halbert, investators asked family to meet them at Lisa's home, as he needs a pair of her shoes for a tracking dog to pick up her scent Joanne said that when they saw them put the shoe into an evidence bag That's when it really clicked for them that something was really, really wrong. And while investigators may have been relaxed when Joanne first reportedlyis sub missing By the end of the first week, they had come to understand just how grave the situation truly was Yeah, that's what we' be trying to get this campaign. like it's so frustrating And now of course, they're like showing up full force and like Oh yeah, okay, we'll get right on. Yeah canan we take a shoe? That should have been done Like how hard would that have been? Right? You have access to search dogs. getet a search dog out there.. And you might have been able to attract the scent at that point Oh. So on march seventh, police began questioning drivers in the By Halbert area who were on the road around the same time Lisa was last seen This was also when the police began asking the family to do media appeals The first of which took place near the Cavan Park However, Lisa's mother, Pat, refused to go Although the police had coached and supported the family, Pat said, Girls, do what you need to do But I will never be in Ballally Halbert again I think and we'll talk about this more, but this really took like it took a toll on everyone on the family, but especially on Pat It was really difficult for her. So I can understand her being even this early on like, I'm never going back to that place again Yeah, I mean, if it didn't If it's starting to set in that your daughter is deceased and possibly just lying out there somewhere, right I mean, I totally get that. I mean, it's extremely traumatic and You've already been there once You know, you timeim is elapsing and you know, you know it's not going to be good. right On the ninth day, police informed the family that it had now turned into a murder investigation. The general public would be informed of this development the following day, but for the family, they said thing washed out of your body. It was scary Ver scary. Investigators began extensive searches across the land, air, and sea with multiple underwater searches To date, there have been over four hundred searches for Lisa's body Invest. It's a lot. a ton. I mean, even for other in the US, like cases we've seen that are as old as this, if not older not coming close to four hundred searches Yeah, I mean to also cover land search, air search and even out in the water I mean, you can't get much more detailed than that.ight? because that was kind of my first thought too is like, well, there, you know, there's bodies water everywhere, oceans there, like Could somebody have taken her out to see dropped her there which it sounds like investigators have never uncovered any sort of real credible leads are evidence to point in that direction. No. And they've even did some underwater searches. They've done some underwater searches. they followed up on certain tips revol surrounding boats, which we discuss Still, it hasn't gone anywhere Investigators also received hundreds, if not thousands of tips And while many weret incredible or discredited other theories It was simply all the police had to go off of in the beginning As there was no blood found in the caravan, an early theory suggested that Lisa had been strangled before her body was placed in the boot of a car which was then crashed Investigators actually recovered the car and found nothing inside relating to Lisa theory suggested that after being strangled in the caravan, She was buried on the airfield or even out at sea. though no evidence was found to support either theory. Of course, all this would heavily implicate Mark as he was the last person seen with Lisa. and the one who claims she simply ran off Still, there is no known evidence that directly ties him to her murder And the fact that he's the caretaker of this charter Mark and so If anybody knows where to hide a body, it would be him. And I believe, you know, there' It's the reporting on Mark and everything is somewhat fractured simply because of the, you know laws surrounding criminal investigations. We don't really know a lot about which theories he's implicated and which ones he isn't, but There is a possibility that this is actually like a family operation and that Mark's dad and everyone else in his family works at this caravan park. Okay as well. So it's like they know this area very, very well. So even if so something happened or Mark even was involved in Lisa's death or disappearance. It's possible he may have even gotten help by a family member or somebody else to dispose of her right? Yeah Early on, a man in Bally Walter was arrested and all eyes were focused on Lis's boyfriend at the time However, despite his sketchy actions, previous criminal record, and attitude taken by the family The Pice said that he was being totally cooperative and didn't believe he had anything to do with Lisa's murder the man in Bally Walter, who is still unknown, was eventually released O april twenty eighth, Lisa had been missing for fifty nine days, and the family was growing desperate through supporters and community fundraising. The family was able to offer a ten thousand pound reward for any information that could lead to the discovery of Lisa's body explained, we cannot grieve properly until we're able to give her a proper Christian burial The family had put their personal lives on hold to dedicate everything to the sege Joanne, who had been studying English literature at the University of Ulster C Rain completely left her studies to give all of her time to search for Lisa She said, I have always classed myself a feminist who would stand by women that were the victims of male violence So I can't understand why the women in that group of so called friends haven't had the decency or guts to help us There hasn't been one single phone call or a message of sympathy It's as if Lisa never existed of them And I mean, that just goes back to what she was saying about the caliber of people Lisa was around. I mean, they really don't care likely, you know, you're around a lot of people usings drugs, rightight. It's going to definitely cause you not to care but also What other organized criminal activity are they doing? Is there other violence going on? Is there other mysterious deaths and disappearance Ron, which It kind of sounds like there is. There probably is, I mean We know that many of them were involved in these loyalist groups. We don't know who exactly or what exactly, of course, but We know that this wasn't like just a crowd that was doing drugs at clubs. right know. Like this sort of thing this isn't the first time something like this happened most likely. right They They've had prior incidents and they've learned how to cover them up. abbsolutely. It was also around this time that a more sinister potential connection came to light Graffiti began popping up in the area with the words LVF lady killers sprayed across buildings in Northern Ireland It seemed like in the absence of violent conflict Lisa's disappearance and murder had allowed the UVF to pin the crime on the LVF. Journalists met with high ups in both paramilitary groups every occasion they were met with a wall of silence regarding Lis's murder The UVF did conduct its own investigation Though any findings were never made public It was headed by convicted murderer, Samuel Cook part in the nineteen ninety two murder of twenty six year old Catholic mother, Anne Marie Smith and had been lured into a party in East Belfast by UVF members drinking in a loyalist club The Northern Irish policeman heading the official investigation, Mark Dornan had scathing words for the UVF's investigation He said, theseese gangs have no moral or legal authority and they will end up causing even more crime. There was an extra slap in the face to him becausecause he had dispatched one hundred and fifty officers who had spoken to twelve hundred people without a break in the case. That's crazy. That's a lot of people to interview right this come up with nothing. It's this wall of silence. It's Oertta, basically, you know, Yeah, that's it's unbelievable Even politician Lady Sylvia Herman, who is a major supporter of the Dorian family said These organizations are not just making the Dorans' lives a misery. There are hundreds upon hundreds of people in this area who are living in misery under these thugs. My view would be that anyone suspected of a paramilitary crimes such as Lisa's disappearance should have their assets frozen and asked to explain where the wealth came from. It's the only way to stop it And although the UVF had been working overtime to pin the blame on the LVF, Theory suggested that a member of the Red Hand Commando, a UVF affiliate, was cessentrially involved in the case. and that's the other frustrating thing is that all these you know, militia paramilitary grouers are just pointing fingers at each other. Right And, you know, just opening up another can of worms that police have to then go and try to look into and hit another you know, stillonewall there. And they're doing their own investigation largely to just Like you said, painted on another group, you know, because they don't have the troubles anymore to kill each other. Right they have to they have to do it through these ulterior motives And despite the aforementioned wall of silence and the fact that Lisa's case is still open, we do not know who this individual is Plus, there was another issue with this loyalist paramilitary theory, since Lisa's case had no breakthrough Investigators and the family were relying on the public for any help in cracking her case But as you can imagine, if you're just a you know, member of the public, just somebody living in this area. You think you want to come out and say anything to the police about Possibly what you saw, right I probablyably wouldn't. I mean, it's scary. It's scary if there's all these, you know, people talking that there's connections to specifically the loyalists, you know, not the independent Ireland people, like the loyalists I would be terrified. I mean, these people are going to kill you. Right If you try to out them So the wall of silence continues The legacy of the troubles still had an iron grip on the memories of those who survived it and Lisa's murder felt like an aftershock of those times. However, Joanne wanted to make clear that Lisa's disappearance did not occur in the context of the troubles, but rather her case is the context of a culture that allows and hides violence against women And as a result of these fears, both the family and the police have stated there's no evidence to link Lisa's murder to loyalist paramilitary groups, which's like, wow, after all like all that there's nothing. There's nothing. There's nothing. And it could be the wall of silence. It could also be that The family just doesn't want to run into any more roadblocks with those theories, you know, in terms of haven't gone in fer R you know, a lot of manpower has been exhausted trying to go down those those rabbit holes and they essentially led nowhere, right? Be it just point, you know, a different direction However, theories and news articles as recent as twenty twenty five have continued to make this claim Then june twelfth, two thousand five was a poignant day for the family as it had been nearly four months since Lisa's disappearance, but it was also her twenty sixth birthday In remembrance of her, they released twenty six white balloons in her honor and made an additional peel for information Early on, there was a massive information campaign Billboards are erected in major cities along busy highways and there are PSAs and movie theaters Ban snow Patrol Love Love that one song by Snow Patrol. Which one Chasing cars of Chasing cars. Yeah chasing cars. I mean, a song that's been in Lots of film and ye. movies a TV over the years But yeah, Snow Patrol, the band even supported the family by wearing blue ribbons during their two thousand six performance in Belfast. And Gary even wrote the family, sting he wanted to support them in finding her body Joanne said it was a lovely gesture and was made in such a genuine way that I don't know how to thank them But still the years went by between two thousand five and two thousand six seven men were. Jimmy said that Lisa may have been killed at the caravan park in Ballally Halbert by drug dealers who she owed twenty thousand pounds He went on to explain that he unwittingly purchased the car that was used to dispose of her body only a few days after the murder before he scrapped it years later Investigators also searched Jimmy's property in twenty twelve after he told police that Lisa's body was placed in an oil drum welded shut and buried at an illegal landfill in Baligoin None of these claims proved credible. And Jimmy likely lied in an attempt to shorten his sentence and gain media attention which he certainly did. I mean, there's he was on the front page. of Sunday life or whatever this is you know, he definitely definitely and we see this. I mean, we even just the other day we were talking about a case in which This happens. People, killers in jail will always kind of come up with a theory themselves just to either shorten their time or You know, Yeah, and how offensive D Lisa's family Absolutely God to put her name out there and be like, yeah, she owed these drug dealers twenty thousand pounds. It's so to twenty thousand pounds here. Right It's just like it's it's all to just, you know, get the name in the headlines and You know, he knows this case is a big case and' soolved and yeah, it's disgusting, man However, in twenty fifteen, tragedy once again struck the Dorian family death of Lisa's mother Pat. Her nephew, Reverend Adrianne Dorian, said this during the eulogy of his on While the day to day of life went on, the reality of having had her daughter taken from her so brutally would weigh on her. The pain of a heartbroken mother would be hers from that day on. That is not to say there were no moments of celebration. No family events at which Pat, with the rest of us, could not count blessings the injustice of Lisa's disappearance would cast a shadow over the rest of her mother's life Pat's death would come just after the family observed the tenth anniversary of Lisa's disappearance I mean, just really, really tragic and I don't know. its it is heartbreaking to think that Pat, who is so heartbroken from the jump Couldn't even visit the airfield again She never, you know, lived her life knowing what happened Yeah, that's that's the absolute worst. I mean I can't think of anything more cruel than that. In twenty seventeen, it was revealed that Mark Loveittt had been previously arrested regarding Lisa's murder but was released without evidence It is suspected that his arrest led him to end his cooperation with police. Though it's unclear when it occurred B bothoth Lis's family and the police once again urged Mark to come forward and reveal new information, but he remains silent. In twenty nineteen, Jason Murphy took over Lisa's case and began by searching some of the initial locations, including the Caravan Park and Bally Halbert Airfield, using new technology This technology identified areas, including ground voids where a body could have been buried Although nothing was found, police presented another theory to the public. est that the killer did not act alone and call the second person likely a family member. to help dispose of Lisa's body seems accurate to me, absolutely To make somebody disappear like this, you're going to need help. and you're going to need it from a very trusted individual. They explained that they did not believe that the murder was pre plananned and was likely the result of heavy drug use This worked with another theory that Mark Loveitt had called his father to help hide Lisa's body guaranteed each other's silence in the years since However, again, this is only a theory Then on april fifth, twenty nineteen, while investigators were searching the airfield A forty nine year old man and a thirty four year old woman were arrested and questioned regarding the murder This is interesting because you know, none of the theories, at least that we know suggest a woman was implicated. It And this is the first time a woman is arrested Yeah Yeah I wish we knew more about know why they were arrested and under what you know circumstances or evidence. We don't, for any of them, I think there's been close to twenty, if not more arrests since Lisa's disappearance We don't know the reason behind any of them the man had previously worked for the Cavan park, and according to another theory Loveittt ran to this man screaming for help at around four forty five AM on the morning of Lisa's disappearance However, it's unclear where this theory originated, and both were released twenty four hours later One name we do know was Naomi Dryesdale, Lisa's friend whom she had been with during the weekend leading up to her disappearance And she was also arrested but released shortly afterward Police have stated that they don't believe Naomi was involved in the murder Yeah, it seems like maybe these names popped up. at some point during the investigation. and right. So they dug in deeper and, you know, I'm not exactly quite sure what the process for making arrest in Ireland is like. but seemeems like maybe done in order to try to question them further. Exactly and do some in depth interrogation and afterwards You know They didn't really get anything out of it. Didn't have enough to at least hold them or charge them with a crime you know, it I will say I give the police props that they have continued you know, working seems pretty diligently on this case. Absolute at least following up leads, you know, making arrests where they can to try to get, you know, anything to further this case. Uh, you know, it just sucks that it's not gone anywhere. They They haven't gotten to You know, what actually happened who was actually involved? Seems like they're close though. Yeah. Itefinitely does You've heard us talk about these guys so many times on the show, but we are so grateful that they continue to come back and support us And I'd ask that you support them because it truly is the easiest and free way book a doctor's appointment. We love you. We love you in may twenty twenty one invvestators launched an additional search for Lisa's body in an area known clay pits near Bally Halbert While the clay pits had been searched back in two thousand five, this new search included dive teams who conducted fingertip examinations of the lake bed using new technology. But even with this new tech, Nothing was found. Here's a clip of Jason Murphy making a public appeal during the search The investigation of Lisa Dorian's murder has been ongoing for sixteen years And today the PSNI has commenced a number of searches in the Bally Halbert area. lookingoo for Lisa's body or anything connected to Lisa's disappearance Over the next number of weeks, Dive teams from the PSNI will search areas of the clay pits in Bally Halbert, looking for any evidence related to Lisa's disappearance From the public's perspective, I'd like to appeal once again for their help. This is the type of area that I think Lisa's body may have been deposited in. and I'm asking the public to recollect where they were when Lisa disappeared in february two thousand five and bring to us any information they have about vehicles they may have seen in the area of the clay pits in Bally Halbert just off Victoria Road For us in the PSNI and for Lisa's family, the story about Lisa is very much still untold. The investigation remains in a very active phase and will continue to do so. We'll lose no resolve in looking for Lisa and try to bring justice to her and to her family In twenty twenty five, on the twentieth anniversary of Lisa's disappearance, PSNI released previously unseen CCTV footage of Lisa visiting the saltwater Brig pub. on february twenty sixth And these are the last images of Lisa taken before her disappearance. So let's take a look Unfortunately again, they have to blur the faces of everyone she was with So there's no audio on this, but it's inside of the pub The CCTV cameras Dated bth You know, again, like we were saying before, just showing how many people were around Lisa in the days leading up to her disappearance. And yet the only story we have of her disappearance is Mark's strange flashing light story Yeah, that's unbelievable, man You think that somebody would have overheard something would have been able to posossibly name individuals that she was with or talking to, it's just, it's crazy. there's none of that. And in conjunction with this footage, crime stoppers offered a twenty thousand pound reward for information leading to the conviction of Lisa's murder And in just one day, Joanne announced that six people had come forward with new information What just goes to say crrime stopers works and you know, he put a reward out there and It's amazing how, you know, people will start surfacing In just the past few months, there have been a slew of arrests made on the case. In december twenty twenty five, PSNI arrested a sixty eight year old man on suspicion of murder, assisting an offender, withholding information and preventing a lawful burial However, he was released the same day News media identified him as a prisoner who was serving a long sentence for violent crime. in Magabrey prison However it's unclear if he's related to Jimmy Seals In february twenty twenty six, detectives arrested a for year old woman in Bangar and a forty two year old man in Scotland on the same suspicions While they were releaseed on bail the following day, the woman is likely a former girlfriend of a convicted drug dealer who is in Lisa's company during her disappearance And the man was a violent career criminal with convictions for cocaine dealing, assault and possession of an offensive weapon In March, a forty year old man was arrested in Mle on suspicion of assisting offenders and withholding information But he too was released on bail. So it's like there' and maybe it's just to get some information is whatm I'm guessing that that's why they're arresting people and then releasing them, maybe hoping that it's going to lead to more Well, and it's important to note that these people are being released on bail, Whereas a lot of the people in the beginning were not released on bail. Yeah true. you know Finally, a forty eight year old man was arrested on the same suspicions but was released unconditionally And in response to all the rereests, Joanne revealed that an individual has approached her with quote unquote, significant information that had it been previously known And we don't know what that information is. But still, with dozens of arrests and hundreds of searches, it's unclear how much closer we are to truly getting a conviction in this case or to finding Lisa's remains In twenty twenty, it was determined that there were an estimated twelve thousand five hundred members of various loyalists, paramilitary organizations And they still controlled much of the criminality throughout the Northern Ireland areas In twenty twenty four, Joanne said that she and the family wanted to do something to Mark nineteen years since Lisa disappeared. And they decided to add Lisa's name to Pat's headstone Janna explain the decision saying this We know that this is not the end of our journey with Lisa because we haven't been able to find her And we haven't been able to get justice. After nineteen years, we thought What if we don't find her Then we never had anything to mark her life on a headstone I know my mom would be very proud of us for doing that. so it's a very difficult decision, but I have to say, We found some sort of peace in doing it which I totally respect and understand Jone continued by saying, we grieve for Lisa every day But we can't get past that and never will because we haven't been afforded the right to say goodbye That's what gets us through every day. our love for Lisa carries us through this And on Lisa's birthday, twenty twenty four, Joanne stated that they knew the identities of her killers, though they could not say who they were But I mean, talk about an extremely frustrating case despite all of the efforts that have been put to fin Lisa to figure out who caused her to disappear and who ultimately murdered her. I mean, it does really seem like Fr the very little evidence that we have, but I mean, I go back to who was the last person with Lisa? Exactly. And what was going on at that time And it just seems like We know exactly who that person is, right and I do tend to believe that something likely happened and whether it was you know premeditated murder or it was an accidental death that was then covered up or you know, she was killed and You know, somebody freaked out I think All three of those are very possible. and I think somebody had help in disposing of her body and putting in a place that is near to impossible to find, unfortunately What do you guys think I don't know. I mean, I completely agree. I think you know, even though Lisa's family cannot say who they think this individual is Um I think we have a pretty good idea who they think it is. and I don't know. I think it's hard to imagine anyone else. I do still consider this kind of an aftershock though, of the troubles and a result of of violent conflict not really coming to a secure end. and it's not just that you know, these conflicts are violent when they're happening It can these aftershocks can lead to murders and disappearances and still the fear that is gripping this region is not allowing anyone to talk becausecause again, there's twelve thousand members still evenven if Lisa's case is completely unrelated. which I don't know, I'm not entirely convinced of that. But even if it is completely unrelated there's a chance has so much fear on the people in this area, you know, however many years since very telling of how, I don't know, just traumatic everything was. Yeah, it reminds me of cases relating to the cartel. Right. It's kind of a similar situation where, you know, maybe there's people who want to say something that know something that could potentially solve this or even put somebody, you know in front of the courts and behind bars, but ultimately, they're just too terrified to do so because they know what these these groups are capable of. and if they can make Lisa disappear, can they make them disappear in it And, you know it's just such a difficult situation where this power imbalance exists and it seems like the police are severe, you know, they don't really have a good hold over the organized crime and orrganizations that exist in this area. and so it's just this tug of war between them and these groups and these groups these groups are extremely powerful and have resources and lots of weapons and lots of money and connections that they're able to just operate sort of in plain sight. I mean, it seems like police know exactly who these people are, but it's like They're so good at what they do and so good at hiding, you know, you know, people don't talk, peopleople don't break. And so you're just kind of It seems like they're just kind of waiting and maybe not waiting, but they're searching for just that shred of evidence that they can turn up on their own or the potential to flip somebody R to come and maybe that'll happen. Maybe somebody involved with serious crimes in one of these groups will you know, be going down for something else and they'll be like, hey If I give you this, you know, in exchange and I don't know exactly how that works there in Ireland, but It seems like that's kind of the only hope at this point. Somebody says something, somebody finally uh, you know, snitches or or or gives the police something more to go off of or they just come across Lisa's remains or you know, a shred of evidence that points in one direction or the other Unfortunately Yeah, it's a it's a really I mean, it's probably onene of the worst situations when it comes to, you know, a missing loved one and you know, not even being able to talk to the people that you want to and and pursue the leads that you want to because they're behind this wall of silence that exists. And so I can't imagine what the families dealt with over the years and just you know, the unresolved, you know conflict and trauma and just not knowing what happened to, you know, this person that You love dearly. It was a family member, you know, somebody who had a whole lifehead of them, you know, like she big plans. She was going to go start this Jesski business. She was going to get this fifteen thousand dollars from the accident and all these things and just want how one weekend just completely changed the course of this family's entire livelihoods is just It's insane. And you know, I hope You know, if Joan's out there, I hope I hope that you're Finding peace the best that you can and you know, I hope that something turns up one of these days. I think It's definitely not It's important to keep hope alive because you just never know and Things change, people change and you never know who might know change their tune and or, you know, I hope the police don't give up too because it seems like they haven't and You never know. you just never know. Crazier things have happened. cases get solved decades later, you know, more often than you would think. so I don't know. I'm holding out hope for the Dorians and for Lisa's sake But us let us know your thoughts, of course I think it's pretty clear, you know, there's notot a whole lot of other alternative theories that even really make sense. Maybe she ran into an opportunist type right type you know, predator killer or something like that seems unlikely due to who she was with when she disappeared, but Let us know your thoughts. What do you think happened to Lisa And of course,, you know, send some support their way This has been incredibly difficult to deal with. But we're going to leave you with this clip of the Dorian family. saying some words about the case and and little remembrance of Lisa here at the end. But thanks for being here with us We'll see you guys next week My name is Joanne Dorian, and I'm Lisa Dorian's sister Arma here today on what would have been her forty fifth birthday The billboard campaign that we have launched over this last week has really been to remind the people with the information as to where Lisa is that they shouldn't sleep easy They should be thinking about Lisa. I want them to always think about her. I want them to be in their life every day as she is in our life every day
