I'm your host Rob Shooter and it is Thursday which means our dear friend Mock Loopo joins us. Hey Loopy How are you there? Loopy Loose here, hey Rob Loopy Looso Loopy Loop was at a very special event. I was invited and I didn't have the Hutzpur to go because it starred Hilaria Baldwin Mark you and I have had a lot of fun about Hilary. There I go again on our little show you were invited to, but you turned up tell me everything It was a two day event. The first day was a cocktail party with Laria and she was presented with diamonds, natural diamonds for her for her participation in this award show. And then the second night was a seated dinner and Ilaria looked gorgeous. Like her dress, the hair was so exaggerated. And she was I will say this. I approached her. I said, hello, and she was very very, sweet. She was having the time of her life. Yeah, truly. The after everything you said , that's why I love you. Good for you, Halak. Did you call her Halari or did you call her Hilary? I was like Hilary and then I was like Hilaria and then I'm like what's her what is her name? I couldn't remember. It was too many drinks I love those nights. Hey says fantastic. Let's jump into Asha. What time is it my friend,s? It is tea time. This story is exploded and I can't get enough of it. So Oprah Winfrey has declared that on her show, her fabulous show in Chicago, one guest fell off the stage and that guest was Whitney Houston. Oprah was doing an interview. This is on the record. She wasn't talking to Gail in a coffee shop and was overheard. She sat down and did an interview at Carm Lions, which is a big festival in France. She was on stage and she was asked about the most difficult celebrities. Everybody went on the Oprah show. It's sort of like a standard question. If ever you're interviewing somebody who works on TV, you always ask who was the best guest, who was the worst guest? That's the one you really want. The worst guest will get you a lot of attention, a lot of clicks. Sobra was asked and she said it was Whitney and she did it in, I think, a really sweet is sweet, the right word. She did it in a very compassionate way. She said she had interviewed Whitney many, many times, and the first time she interviewed it she, was great, and unfortunately there was an incident where Whitney Oprah claims was high , came out to perform, fell off the stage and then Oprah said to her audience, please, please, please do not tell anybody about this. There's like a hundred people in that audience, maybe even a little more. I've been to the show many times in Chicago and the audience to their credit, to Oprah's credit never mentioned it. So now all these years later, we're talking about it while, the Whitney Houston family are not happy and they're saying it didn't happen. She did fall off the stage but she wasn't high on drugs. Now Whitney's former bodyguard has come forward. His name's Ray and he said she wasn't high, but he did confirm she fell off the stage. This is what the problem the people surrounding Whitney are going to have. Arguing that Whitney was not high , that's a very difficult argument because we know she abused drugs. We've seen it, she's no longer with us, she died in a bathtub, like claiming that she was sober on that day . That's kind of a difficult thing to square because we know who Whitney was. What do you think? You know, listen, Whitney is dead and gone. It's been quite a while since we've seen Whitney heard from Whitney and she can defend herself in this moment. So I don't think it's fair . And I also feel like Oprah, if you're saying that you begged your audience, you begged these hundreds, I should add, hundreds of people in two thousand nine, which was the peak of the TMZ and the Usweetly and you said, please don't say anything and now you're here saying it. What was the point of that then? Mm , yeah, it is tricky now. There is apparently some video of Oprah talking to Clive Davis. Clive Davis has just passed, rest in peace . He was the guy that discovered Whitney Houston. So Clive loved publicity more than any star . He wasn't a star. He was an executive, but he just couldn't help himself. He was sort of like a reality star. He was always on TV. And so Oprah did an interview with him on Over Zoom. It wasn't on her show. And this incident came up and Clive is very defensive about Whitney because there's been a lot of suggestions that he really didn't help. In fact, maybe keeping Whitney in the closet . Maybe that added to her trauma and maybe the drug use. And so Oprah in this interview claims that Whitney did fall off the stage but she wasn't high. I think here we're sort of like picking hairs. Whitney was a drug user. I'd seen Whitney several times, including backstage at Clive Davis's party. I used to work for Alicia Keys. She was one of Clive's artists. When I saw backstage at Clive's Pyarty with Whitne Houston was outrageous. She was clearly out of her mind on drugs and everybody knew it. Nobody dared say it and I've got to admit Oprah maybe in two thousand nine if you'd said something , maybe I'm not going to say Whitney would be here today , but maybe we would have had to force Whitney or maybe Whitney herself would have dealt with this. It's so interesting . Keeping people secrets which I do the opposite for a living. Let's just be clear. I'm invested in the opposite here. Secrets are not good, Mark. They free you . I always say to people it's going to get out eventually and fortunately here it took almost twenty years and Whitney's no longer around to defend herself or even learn from this experience but they always get out so I think Oprah might have done Whitney a disservice. If Whitney fell off that stage because she was high , I think talking about it back then might have forced Whitney to get help. What do you think about that? I mean, it's a huge disservice. Why bring it up fifteen years, twenty years later when you didn't you botched it. You could have said, yeah, privately, hey, you have an issue. Let's figure this out. You had all Oprah had all the resources to figure out she helped Lindsey Lohan when Lindsey Lohan was in down the dump. So he also gave her a TV show though too as little self serving like Oprah gives with one hand and takes with the other. She does and I feel like Clive's kind of gross too. Like the day that Whitney died, he continued on with that party and celebrated the Grammy's and I just think no one had Whitney's best interest in heart. It was she was machine and they wanted to make money and now, you know, now this. Yeah. They're all painting themselves now as the savior. You didn't save her. In fact, you were complicit in Whitney's downfall. I was around pop stars in the music business during that period, just because that was my job with JLO and did he? Let's not forget Clive Fundy diddy. Bad boy records existed because Clive gave Diddy fifty million dollars to develop the label. So when somebody passes, I do get it. I do get it. We want to remember the nice things. We don't want to say any bad things, but we're complicated people and I think if you tell the whole story , it's actually going to be better not only for the person that has passed but for the next generations like we're allowed to make mistakes. We all make mistakes and I wish people would admit them. I'd love to talk to Oprah about this and say, Why are you bringing this up now? And do you regret not bringing this up earlier? Everybody knew, you knew Mark , I knew. Everybody in show business knew Whitney was a disaster. We know it about Britney Spears , we knew it about Lindsey Lohan. Nobody would say anything. Well maybe if somebody had, things might have been a little bit different, which brings us to our poll question of the day. Oprah is claiming that a high witt in Houston fell off her stage in Chicago , the family has denied it. Who do you believe? Do you believe Oprah? Or do you believe the family? Ooh, go vote on our ex or Twitter page at naughty nice rob, our Facebook page is naughty gossip and be sure to check back tomorrow and hear your results. Hey loops, what are you working on? Yes, so Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey's No Gift wedding role says everything about their priorities. Let me explain to them. Very cute. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey are planning one of the biggest celebrity weddings of the year, but despite their fame and fortune, the couple has one strict rule for guests, no gifts. Couldn't be me. Swift friends say Swift and Kelsey have told everyone that their presence is present enough That hasn't stopped some guests from considering a small surprise anyway, but the message is clear. After years of sold out stadiums, Super Bowl victories and enormous success . They've already have everything they need. Oh my gosh. Buy a gift, buy a gift. By winning, I want to get a gift. I registered at Michael Cina and I went through there and there was only one person who didn't get me a gift and I was furious . And I didn't realize that Emily Post, the etiquette expert, says you have a year from the wedding to get a gift. It has to be within the year. So literally two days before the O up,'s a gift turned up from my friend. It was Colleen. Colleen worked for the Obamas and she got Bruce and I a letter from the Obama saying congratulations on your work. I've got it on it's one of my prize possessions. I've got it framed. And it says, Congratulations on the first ann iversary of your wedding. Michelle and Para. Oh, it said, lovely. So and then the richest person at my wedding bought the cheapest gift of course . Mark, I've been married ten years. It's still on my mind. I still think that Mark , if you ever tied the dotted, I'm saying it could happen Hello if it them below . Would you have a register or would you say Rob? Your presence is enough. That's enough. No, I want gifts. I want gifts from everyone. But it's true, Rob. To your point, rich people are cheap. You will not cheat. You're not getting a big gift. It's so frustrating . No, my sisters who are the probably the poorest people at the wedding. They're reg ular people. I love them. They're my favourite people at the wedding too, apart from Bruce, sorry if you're listening and you came to the wedding and you're not one of my sisters, but I love you all, but they got me the nicest gifts and they didn't have any money. Like they struggle. They had to pay for their hair like their flights and their hotels and then they got me a beautiful gift I do want a gift. I also was told to by a wedding planner and I think this is a really good helpful marker . The gift should be about the same value as what your dinner is costing the groom and the bride . So in New York City, it's going to be about two hundred person ahead. So to throw a wedding. Might be four hundred. I'm not going to say how much mine was. Yeah, minimum. So if they're paying for you to come and have dinner on them, which they are, they're not asking you to pay for your dinner, what did that dinner cost them? Could be two hundred, three hundred and that's the gift you should get. I like that. It's sort of like a little marker, isn't it? You should almost pay for your own dinner in gifts to the wedding. Okay, moving along u Crz Beckham. Oh, these Beckhams they're so petty took a dig at Brooklyn, his brother. So things are getting even more messy. So Cruz is at the World Cup and he can't help himself. He took a picture with his phone. So he's posing , looking at his phone during the match, which is a very, very weird thing to be doing. She should be watching the match. And he said, Don't worry. It was during a commercial break . Well, who has a commercial during the World Cup? His brother has a door dash commercial. I don't know if this is all collected, but my sources say absolutely is. The pettiness within the family. I felt sorry for Brooklyn, then I felt sorry for Victoria, then David. And now I've realised don't feel sorry for any of them. They're all thoroughly enjoying this. They're enjoying the attention. Brooklyn learnt from his mum and dad how to be a real, real thirsty attention whore. And so I don't feel bad anymore. I think this family is just thriving on all this drama. Hopefully I'm wrong. What do you think? This reminds me of the royal family kind of thing. Doesn't it petty petty? You always say that the royal is so petty so petty. I love it and I think Meghan's taking notes right now about how she got I love it. I love it. I love it. Okay , moving along . This is a big move here, Mark. The Nancy Guthrie case might be nearing a breakthrough fingers crossed. What's happening? I mean, after nearly five months, Rob of heartbreak and unanswered questions. There might be a break in the case. A former FBI agent claims investigators are getting closer to identifying the masked figure caught on the security camera the night she vanished. And the mysterious porch guy has become known as one of the most chilling images connected to the case, but authorities said if they make their arrest , more details will come quickly. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I think so if they arrest this porch guy, that's what he's now known as the porch guy. If they arrest him, he got to tell them, What are you doing there? And if they find out what he's doing there, that whole case is going to become very, very clear. It is heartbreaking. Today, I have a substack mark, Rob Schooter. com and it's a newsletter. And if you sign up for it, if you put your email address in, it's free or you can subscribe either or it's up to you. I'd rather use your pen, but you never know. It's either eight dollars a month. That's two dollars a week. It's worth it dollar. Worth it. You can't get a cup of coffee for that. Any case, today's lead story on my substack is about Savannah. This story broke on Tuesday and my friends, people I know, my sources at the Today Show, said they didn't think she'd turn up for work that day. Basically what we're finding out by the new ransom node is that Nancy's no longer with us. It's a real major, major development. And so staff at the Today Show said',s no There way Savannah's coming in today. She insisted, I love this about Savannah. She said no, I'm not going to let these monsters win. I'm going to turn up and get this. I'm going to address it. Everything on these shows is not scripted, but it is in a lineup. They know the topics that they're going to touch. And it would have been very easy for Savannah for the producers to say no, we're just not going to touch this subject. And it was Savannah herself who said I'm here today, NBC, the bosses, they have been so, so generous with her time. Like, take as much time off as you need. They've really been supportive. We've got to tip our hats here to NBC for doing that. And it was Savannah who said no , this is a major story. We are a news organization. I hate that the story is about me and my family , but we're going to address it. And I thought she did it with such grace . I'm not sure I could have been there that day to actually have that will, that will to still have joy in your life in really one of the most ugly chapters I find so so inspiring this story. Oh, just awful. Okay, we're gonna take a quick break and we will be right back. This is Hodac i from Joy one hundred one with Hodac i. Okay, you know those quick CBS runs we all make?
