Welcome back to News Girls. I'm Ren and I'm Abel We are talking about something that is very close to Mel of my heart today. It is a Taylor Swift swedding And about what we're learning. And of course, you guys know, Mabel and I are the biggest Taylor Soith fans we've been to like every concert tour she's done. We love her music. She is our favorite artist of our lives. We even dressed in her eras today. I'm lovever. And I'm fearless. so we're very in theme. And it was one of the first things that Ron and I bonded over besides journalism So we're really bringing the journalism and the Taylor Swift together because we've done so much research on this wedding. It might be one of the most thorough with Taylor Swift wedding reports that you'll see Yeah, a little everything that's out there will be in this video includluding Our hot takes. And don't I don't even think this is actually that hot because I actually think most people feel this way May it's so tacky It's so tacky. whyy is she getting married in an arena in the middle of New York? This is not what we expected for her No, I thought she would do something so elegant and like have so much meaning and It's just like going to be like you're going to be surrounded by stadium seating And imagine the MSG bathrooms, like you can decor up the inside. you can't change bathrooms That is true. That hadn't occurred to me. But it's like the version of Taylor that we think we know felt like she would get married in Rhode Island. I think we had all like attached to that or somewhere elegant and beautiful and someplace really meaningful to their relationship. And so this is just like really surprising. If the biggest reason for her getting married here is security, which we will break down and get into I don't know. I wish there was like a more sentimental reason that she was getting married where she was getting married Me too. It seems like just because they're both in stadiums all the time. And my god We we can break down everything we know, starting with the guest list because some outlets are reporting is going to be over a thousand people. So big. And she I mean, they obviously could do that. Like they have such huge circles Although the permits that they, you know, the New York permits that they had to take out to shut down roads and stuff Do you say the wedding will be between five hundred and nine hundred and ninety nine So still large, I might bet they're around they're like upp end of that and that's for the wedding itself, Friday night. but tonight they arere doing the rehearsal dinner also at Mison Square Garden, but in a different theater, it's the inphosis theater and that's going to be only a hundred people. So obviously like immediate family and like bridal party and stuff. But look it's a theater. What do you mean? How How are you doing rehearsal dinner there I don't know, like, are they going to get rid of all the seeding It's just like or no I mean, but it's stuck in there. Like it's like built in. But how are you gonna have dinner there I don't know. And like are they going to be on the stage They would have to unless everyone's just like eating dinner in their seats. It's like a crazy idea. And I mean, we do know that we don't know a lot, obviously because the wedding is so secretive and secure and guest and workers have signed NDAs. and Reuters, this is like very high tech has reported that the invitations to the wedding have individualized watermarks. So if someone leaked an invite, you'd know who leaked it. So they're taking this obviously very seriously, trying to keep everything under wraps The weddings also reported to be tenen hours long And five hundred trucks are expected to show up at Madison Square Garden, which is, of course, a huge arena right in the middle of New York, and we'll get into what the city has had to do to kind of make this happen later, but They're shutting like down two blocks in the middle of New York on july fourth weekend for this wedding Yeah, and if you don't know New York, Madisonburg Garden is Penn Station. like it's right there. Penn Station is the like the busiest station if you're trying to get into New York. I don't even know logistically how that works because people need to get to penation. No, I have no idea. I have to take it tomorrow and I don't know how I'm gonna No. like And there are actually a lot of guests and like who's attending that we know. So it's the Him sisters, Selena Gomez, Gracie Abram, Sabrina Carpenter, Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw who are both performing at Saron Kelsey Ballerini, Gigi Hadid and her boyfriend, Rley Cooper, Venson Boone, Emma Stone, Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qali, obviously, Patrick Mahomes, Caraelvine Andy Reid and Sukey Waterhouse. who is dating Robert Pattinson. so I do believe he will be there too. And also, of course, Zoe Kravitzs like they're super close. So does that mean Carry styles, her ex boyfriend will be at her wedding That would be insane. That would be so crazy. Let's It's like awward for both sides Taylor did say though, like that she was just inviting, we've talked about this, everyone. She's just inviting everyone she's ever met to the wedding. So finally she also invited Jayen Brunson in the starting lineup for the Kicks And apparently she got like close to them during the series and just like invited all of them, so they're all gonna to go That' so ridiculous. L it Okay. I guess she also invited Prince William and Kate Middleton, but they can't make it That's fair. Understandable. Yeahah yeah I guess Carly Kloss is also invited and they have such a big falling out that that's actually really surprising Oh yeah. I mean, it's been fun to follow. That's why it's been so fun for us to follow who's being invited because Taylor has so many friends, but she's also had so many falling outs. So it's like Obviously, Blake Lively, who she's had a recent falling out, is not invited. neither is Miles Teller and his wife. Which is surprising because they were really close, but Carlly Klaos somehow made the cut. And I guess originally when the invitations went out, guests were just told to block off two days and await further instruction. I guess, like to try to keep the secrecy alive, that they didn't even tell guests until the last minute. And one guest reportedly told an nowle that Taylor and Travis are taking the secrecy a bit far. Everyone understands wanting privacy some it starts to feel like they don't trust the people they're inviting That makes sense. I mean, like so many famous people and politicians and presidents and prime ministers have gotten married. They're not all Taking it this far, like obviously, Taylor is probably the most famous person on the planet right now, but she is taking it really far. I know, like this is ridiculous. She also loves to be paparatzed she's constantly going out in the streets and going to dinner and being poparasi. And we know that she's calling the pops on herself because there were years when she wouldn't, like she would go places and like not tell anyone and like we wouldn't even know if she's there So she wants to be seen. So it seems like strange for the last three years. She's like, look at me, look at me like wanting all the attention And now all of a sudden like Supposedly not wanting the attention We're going to do this and like try to make it a secret. I don't want like helicopters to be able to fly over, take her pictures. Yeah. And also if she does want privacy, why are you getting married? We've talked about this at Madison Square Garden. Like there are lots of arenas around the world and around the country that are not in the middle of New York where it's such a big conversation. There's so many people who live here. it's just Her decision has made this a bigger conversation than it would have been otherwise. So I don't really believe that she doesn't want this to be a huge thing. Why didn't she get married in like An arena in Kentucky. Yeah. no, this has to also be the most expensive option because in an arerena in Kentucky is definitely way cheaper because it's probably sitting empty for ninety percent of its life And apparently like in order to even get the guests in tonight and tomorrow, there's going to be a VIP area that's going to be covered with a tent so that no one can take pictures of the guests arriving But that's weird because we've seen decor being loaded in all week for days. and that makes me think maybe they wanted people to like see like some of the day Cora some of it's labeled garden parties. So we know they're building like a garden. We saw a big piece of a castle, like a castle staircase, which looks exactly like The love story castle that she like filmed the music video on and like flew around the arena on tour, like the little ide balcony Apparently it's all being built by Rock Lidz, which is a Pennsylvania based production company that made her heiress to her set U whyy? It's not the same. Go on tour is not the same as getting married. L why do we have to say that to you No, like Most people like Why would you want your wedding to be like a big performance? L And the venue like it all feels like she thinks this is just like another Tour where she's going on No, yeah, exactly. There's another production company involved. And puts up all the events for like the Tonys and the Grammys and stuff and they're kind of helping do this and they're famous for setting up huge award shows, not weddings. So it's just We again, always imagine Taylor really priding herself on being able to make like intimate, beautiful environments and just the fact that it's being kind of given out to these huge venue creators just It just feels like it's going to be a huge event and not something like intimate and meaningful Oh no, totally It's like I saw the best treat that was A girl who never went to prom will always have the scariest wedding you'll ever go to And it does feel like She just wants this to be a big spectacle. It's like her moment And she didn't like she hasn't had a lot of those traditional ones. Yeah, we also, I mean, she is trying to, like we said, bring in a lot of elements of her music into this, which is also just like questionable, like the loveove Story Castle, Workers were also photographed bringing in a literal forty inch mirror ball. So I mean, who knows maybe it's not related, but Swifties are obviously like, oh my go, she's putting mirror ball in her wedding Okay, okay.'s that one's a bit of a stretch because it is a disco ball. Like it's just a disco ball But like we also saw that she put in like a red carpet and then told workers to rip it all out and put in like a purple carpet. So I think if you're just kind of taking all of these things, there's just a lot of references Purple, obviously speak now. Mirrorall, she's talked about it recently, The love story Castle. Are there just gonna be little Easter eggs to herself in her wedding? Like I just hate the thought of that You know me too. like A wedding is not about you Rightike it's about you as a couple And it's like she has such an outlet. It's like one thing for a normal person like I want my favorite color to be like the brridesaids dresses.ike I guess that's an Eterrike to yourself But it's like subtle, it's not so overt and it's like she has so much opportunity to have fun with Easter eggs, like This should just be about your relationship with like Travis Eter eggs to each other like to the relationship. And apparently she's tapped luxury wedding planner Mark Sed, who has been quote busy with the wedding for months now. He also did Jennifer Lawrence's wedding and Jack Aandonoff's wedding both of which she attended so She's definitely seen his work inspired Apparently he can build something spectacular out of nothing which is very much like the vibe of like their I'm assuming when guests walk into the arena, it's going to feel like you're in a garden with a cat. Like it's not gonna to feel like a set. likeike it's going to be like actually insane. Yeah. I guess yesterday they were draping fabric from the ceiling So it's like you're not to see the stadium like ceating or the ceiling You're going to feel like you're in trans reported Somewhere else And that's what this guy is known for apparently. And he's super private. If you go to his website, it's literally just his email. He doesn't have a a resume Like you know who Mark's seed is Mabel No, it's like the execution, I have no doubt. Like Taylor's so good at being able to pick the right people to help kind of make her dreams come to life. So we know it's going to be so cool and immersive and beautiful. It's just the decision to do it this way Ben and I are having a hard time getting behind. But we can move on to food because This is interesting that this has leaked. TMZ is reporting that Taylor personally curated food stations featuring like specialty dishes from her favorite restaurants rather than having one traditional cater So every item reportedly had, quote, the brides seal of approval, although the restaurants haven't been publicly identified. And I like that she's taking food seriously because I feel like food does sometimes get so overlooked at weddings. like becausecause the bride and the groom don't care. like they are barely eating, they're kind of socializing with everyone. It's like so for the guests. I feel like it can be a second thought. so I'm glad she's taking it seriously. Same. No, we've had a lot of like bad wedding food in our lives so like I would love to go to a wedding with like Incredible food, thank you. Nice. you could invite us if you feel so inclined. You have the space And I guess like workers have been spotted carrying in boxes of lobster, blackened chicken, actually a million types of chicken, packaged chicken, boneless chicken, and chicken legs. so I think it's going to be very chicken heavy mu. There's also French fries, onion rings, peppers, eggs, heavy whippy cream, all the things you need to like make a lot of different recipes. I'm sure they just need the staples in there And someone in response to like this This food doesn't sound the most impressive, though I'm sure it'll be transform. Someone tweeted, Everyone should be able to have the wedding of their dreams. I just think it's really funny that her dream is to get married like the heir to a Bick dealership in suburban New Jersey The other food does feel very tvous, like onion rings and onions and stuff People also saw a Krispy Kree truck like outside Madison Square Garden and so they're kind of like, oh, maybe for a late night treat since the wedding's gonna to go ttil two AM. And then a lot of people saw you know fruit riot, like the super sour frozen Oh, that's like really twenty. So people sell like packages of that being brought in which it just feels like she's like preparing for some giant sleepover or something. It's just so random to have all of these like weird casual snacks. And what will Taylor be wearing is one of the biggest questions because she has worked with every single designer. L when you look at her heirress toour, it was like every eraad Versace, Oscar D Laorenta, some like Newer designers that are like cool. She' done a lot with Beaumont. Every she's done a lot. like Stella McCarney's one of her best friends. So she could really V're awaying, I'm sure if you call Ver up, she'd be thrilled I guess. rumors are that she's wearing a custom coutur gown by Jonathan Anderson, who is of Christian Dior fame. So that would be really beautiful, but obviously she's gonna to wear multiple outfits. Oh yeah, it's been basically confirmed that she'll have multiple custom dresses. Another outfit that's rumored to kind of be in the running is from Monsseill designers who, like Ran mentioned they're the former co creative directors of Oscar de Laurenta. and she's worn a lot of them even on Era's tour. And then these two designers have made a mall Coononey, Paris Hilton and Naomi Campbell's wedding dresses so' making beautiful wedding dresses. Taylor wore their designs recently also when she was at like Titan University performing loveve story, that black silver dress was from them and I didn't know this, but I guess like an insider said that when a brand frequently dresses a celebrity, they end up having like a super precise mannequin made of the star so the person doesn't have to come in back in and like ship the dress. And so an industry source was like, yeah, they have a Tayor Souff mannequin so precise that we even' have like accurate wrists and ankles to make the perfect dress for her So that's cool But R What will Travis wear I really hope it's not like a purple velvet tux. I will literally die. I hope it's just simple and normal and not gross That's actually a good point. Like it is baking hot outside. So like if they were doing this outside, like elvet would be out You can't it should be out It should be out It should be out anyway, but they mean they're be out anyway. It's gonna be air conditioned so they could it could be super c tour because like the guest list or like the wedding, the guests were told to that it was black tie So I think everyone will be really dressed to the nines. If I had to guess, It's going to be it Pretty classic. black tucks because Taylor is a classic girl at the end of the day. likeike this even the fairy tale aspect is like that's like the stereotypical wedding. So I think he's going to probably it's definitely going to be like fashionable maybe have like a little like little spins that are fun, but I think it'll be overall just like a classic black tux I really hope' storybook. But like you said, the wedding is long AF. The doors will open at three thirty PM and there will be a cocktail our hour starting at Four And then the ceremony itself will start at five thirty and then the reception will start at six thirty. So you know what that means, Mabel It's a one hour ceremony Oh yeah, so true. So that That is lengthy Yeah, that was long like Are they going have like a million singers then And like she love you to talk. Like I'm sure she she'll have like quite a long statement Her vows will be half of that. Yeah, exactly. L I can totally imagine that Unless she decides to really know I could see it both ways, but we know that She would love to. Yeah, no, I'm sure they're both going to have lengthy vows And then I guess It's slated to go until two AM, but they do have the space until four AM. So I feel like it's four AM And so now Ron and I will talk about the security because Madison Square Garden makes sense because of the security that they can provide. So there's a lot of underground parking for like guests, there's no helicopters that can kind of fly over because it's a stadium, there's no windows, it's hard for Paparazzi to get in And they're really going above and beyond to make sure that she's happy with the security. Yeah, I mean, if that's one of the main reasons they chose Madis Square Garden, like They better deliver. I guess it's going to be one hundred and thirty cops around is which is six figures, like they're paying six figures, we don't know how much to the city of New York to have those that cop presence And then in order to rent out Masonswg Garden for those three days, apparently it's three million dollars. I actually would have thought it was more. I know, me too That's not that much. No, like so many more people could get married there. I think it's telling that they don't And I mean, some tabloids are estimating that the whole thing would cost around twenty million dollars But I wouldn't be surprised if it was more to put it in perspective, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's wedding last summer was fifty twollars seventy five million dollars And that was in Italy and this is in New York, so I would just expected to Cost more, but maybe not I guess theirs was maybe longer This is only like one and a half days And I think the basest one was like four days or something Yeah, yeah, that's true. I mean, that's still a real expensive wedding. twenty. more like only twenty million do. But she is the world's richest female musician and her net worth is over two billion dollars. Insane And she and Travis have been dating it's like three years now Yeah actually again, like she's very traditional. likeike that's Not a crazy fast. It feels right. they got engaged last year and remember was your English teacher and your gym teacher getting marri That should have indicated to us what we were in store for It's just going to be Millennial cringe. Yeah. And the fact that they posted the engagement so quickly after it happened also makes you we are going to get picks really quick. like She does want us all to know. She's been going like she's been flashing that ring around. like I think they just want to control the pictures to the highest degree completely But I think we're going to get picks tomorrow, if not like in the days following No, I think that's such a good point because usually I feel like Celebrities do keep these things under wraps for a little bit. They like the privacy before announcing it to the world And she has not seen that way It's just such backlash for us as fans her coming out of the Joe Alwen relationship being so private about everything because he obviously liked things to be private. and now she's just so are all the time and I mean, I love it for her. I love that she looks amazing and happy and we're all getting to be a part of it. It's just She changes how she wants to handle the public so often and so frequently that it's kind of like, do you want us to be a part of it? Are you annoyed at the public all the time? Like she's kind of all over the place about it Yeah, and it's hard to know like what's authentic to her and what is she just like following her partner's lead on because They both can't be true. It can't be like she want she wants privacy and she wants to be out there. So like one of those she was just kind of doing what her partner wanted. I think it was Joe Alwin wanted privacy She is more on the trais side of like She loves the spotlight. It's a little disappointing coming off of eras. likeike I've seen a lot of takes of like If she had gone away. Ar, like Ars was the biggest thing. like We are getting Taylor fatigue And like then she's releasing albums that aren't as great because they feel rushed. like she just wants to keep cashing in literally instead of like actually making the best album she can or even just like having an honest human experience that she can share. L it feels there's not a lot of depth anymore So I think that's also why we're so sick. When we come into this wedding because it's like, oh my Godd, okay, like you're everywhere and now you're doing this spectacle for your wedding too And if you're hearing this from two huge Taylor Swift fans, imagine how true it is that we're kind of we saw pictures of her coming out of her music studio in New York Like a couple weekso, and Ren and I were like Oh no. And it's like we should and we do want so much more Taylor music, but the quality has been decreasing. Like Ren said, it's hard to know what's what's authentic to her even when it comes to the music. So Yeah, if she had gone away, this would have been such a breath of fresh air, but it just feels like we've gotten nonstop Taylor for like five years and it's getting kind of exhausting Yeah, exactly. And like Basically, these details are confirmed. L we don't know for sure but they're so widespread that it feels like We can judge now, like with this is real. Yeah, so many people have still been like, o, is this like a decoy? Is she still gonna not have it at Madison Square Garden I think building a castle and renting out Madison Square Garden is even too much for Taylor to fake out her fans. so this is happening. Yeah, she's not spending three million dollars to rent a place and like pay for cops to like guard and fake out. L maybe she would. That's honestly I would be happy with that because that's just like a waste.
