As always, it's your host Kelly Williams, and yes, I know Beyond the Blinds is on a break, and yes, I know Taylor Swift got married last week. to talk about it. So this is just a minisode about Taylor and Travis's wedding. and over on Beyond the Binds, I get a lot of shit whenever I talk about Taylor becausecause people say like this is regurgitated TikTok takes, this is regurgitated, whatever, Kelly. And then people also be like, Kelly, you used to be a really big swwifty. So whatever you say against Taylor Swift doesn't count I know nostalgian listeners do not feel that way. And you guys have been there since the beginning of Laguna Beachch, in my opinion. I know there are some newer listeners But my relationship with Taylor Swift has really changed over the last few years. Like I can't explain it. I don't know if it's because I got in a relationship with someone who isn't like a huge Swifty. I don't know if it's because of whatever. But over the years I've really like stepped back from Taylor Swift. Did I go to the Aistour? Yes, I got tickets to the Aistour I went with my friends. We had a great time. One thing about Taylor Swift is you're gonna have fun at her concert. I'm not going to stand here and be like, this girl's mediocre, this girl's not talented because I don't agree with that. Do you know what I mean? So I still think that the way Taylor Swift is as like an artist is big and maybe she doesn't deserve every accolade that she's been given But I do think it would be crazy to say that like this girl isn't talented. This girl doesn't have something that like people obviously relate to because I related to her for like fourteen years of my life. There's a reason why I listened to her for as long as I did. What changed? and I remember the moment things started to shift is when she announced midnight at the VMAs. Do you guys remember that Well, that was the moment where I was kind of like, o, okay. so she won this award. She's also announcing an album Okay, let's see what's going on. Did I love midnights? No, but I wish I appreciated it more because I really haven't liked much of her music since midnights. And people are always like, go listen to Trture Petets department. You' really gonna love it. You're really gonna love it. And it just didn't hit for me. I listened to it that front to back The song that I really like is The Black Dog. That's kind of the song I listen to the most. and all the other songs, to me it just felt like she had all these thoughts in her head and had to get it out. and I'm never gonna buy the ten year situationship with Maddie Healey. That is not my My Taylor Swift lore. That is not the lore that I follow at Taylor Swift. but I also am not as much of like a galer as I used to be. I think Taylor Swift doesn't even know who Taylor Swift is and it's really like interesting to watch now that I've taken a step back. But yeah, I guess when she became like a business, it was very different. Listen In twenty nineteen, or was it twenty twenty? I think twenty nineteen, April of twenty nineteen, I left work so I could go to that mural and meet Taylor Swift. Like I know that I was a deep, deep swwifty and I was very deep on it. And I do think COVID saved Taylor Swift's career And when I say that'wifties, please stop typing. Okay, let me finish that thought Taylor Swift with Lover Fest was going to have a few festivals around the world and then maybe take a break. We don't know what happens because COVID happened and she came out with two of her greatest albums in my opinion. I think Folklore and Evermore are some of her best work ever. But yeah, when she releasedic those songs in COVID, people really had nothing else to pay attention to and were like Oh my God, I think I love Taylor Swift. Like I remember my brother being like, you know what, Kell, you might be ono something. Taylor Swift is pretty talented. And I'm like, I've been screaming that since I heard Picture to Burn all those years ago But yeah, once she came out with Midnights and all of that, it just felt like so much more. And listen, I stuck with Taylor Swift through the nineteen eighty nine to the repeputation years. I was fighting people online. I was going against Kanye fans and Kim fans and all that. But this was the first time I really felt like she was really, really overexposed and it hasn't stopped Like one thing about Taylor Swift, especially if you've been a fan of hers for a really long time, is it's pretty much a two year cycle. Every two years a new album would come out, there'd be a tour, another album, tour. It was very formulaic, and she stopped following that formula. And maybe that's why I kind of was like, who, whoa, whoa, what the fuck is going on? And now that I've never had that thought But I love a pattern. I love a good pattern, I love a good formula. And she started to fuck with that formula, right? She releases a new album in the middle of the Aras Tour, but made sure to add songs about who she just married, Travis, while also kind of talking about Maddie Healley and maybe Joe Alwyin too. And then she pushes out a life of a show girl What you think is going to be glam and all this stuff and it just for me didn't hit. And what's funny is now I'm seeing over on TikTok, my algorithm because again, I think everybody has their own algorithm, but my algorithm is kind of like Swiftty's regretting how much they hyped up L of a showgirl. And basically my opinion on that is Travis had a few songs about him. He didn't have an album dedicated to him. You know, with Joe, we have reputation, we have lover, maybe some of folklore And it's just really crazy to kind of see How quickly she had to be like, o, now I need songs about Travis because my fans are gonna put these songs onto Travis. And I guess I do know the exact moment my relationship kind of changed is when she came out with that song But Daddy I love him and everyone was like, she's yelling at fans about who she's in love with and she's in love with Maddie Healy. And I was like, yeah, but Maddie Healey said some really gross things and done some really gross things And that was kind of when I was like, all right, sorry, we're trying to be like, hey, it's not cool for you to date this person. Um and yeah, that song was like a direct hit at her fans, I think is what it seemed is what people took from it. And yeah, that was the moment where I was kind of like, listen, I've given you a lot of money, a lot of streams, a lot of time, a lot of attention. and I'm sorry that I think you dating This man who's made fun of black women, he's also done like the Nazi salute. But what people say, people like nineteen seventy five fans are also kind of like Swifttyies in their own right with Mattie Healey. They're like, it was a joke. You just don't get it. I'm like, well, I don't think that joke is very fucking funny, sorry Call me lame, but I don't think a Nazi salute's like a cool thing to do, whether it's a joke or not. Wha. And I also think podcasting with someone who isn't a Swifty really did open my eyes to kind of like the business that is Taylor Swift. And I think that that's kind of what it comes down to is she's now a full business. She's a billionaire. Of course she's gonna be a business Of course she's going to run her life as if it is a business. like Dw And this wedding, It I don't think I need to get into like shutting down the streets of New York. That is wild to me. It's really wild like I guess But she's not the only one doing it, but I think it is such like a display of wealth During a time where people are really struggling is something where it's like, ugh like, oh my God, we get it. We get it. You didn't go to prom and now you're gonna to have your own prom, but it's gonna to be your wedding. That's kind of how I feel about the whole Madison Square Garden of it all. Yes, her privacy. Okaykay, fully get it. You know, drones can't fly over, but we already know what it looks like inside. I am so sorry, Taylor Swift You could have gotten married on a remote island and built a castle on that remote island. and I fear that it something would still be leaked. You know, I think the Madison Square Garden of it all, she could transform it into whatever she wanted. You know, she said that she could have a day to herself where she doesn't have to worry about being overexposed. Did she say that no, but that's what I'm assuming the whole Madison Square Garden of it all. But in my head, I'm like Madison Square Garden is a place for great music moments, also great sports moments. And in Travis and Taylor's mind, they're combining sports with music. So that is why I think they chose Madison Square Garden. I also think that these are two people who love attention Love being like love having people talk about their life. Even though Taylor Swift will say she doesn't, she doesn't do anything by accident. And having your wedding on july third in New York City shutting down these streets, you're not doing that for privacy. You're saying, look at my privacy. Look at how much money I have where you can kind of see the spectacle, but you can't come in Don't you have FOMo, you can't come in, where I think that eventually we're gonna to know every single detail of this wedding probably by the end of next week. And it wouldn't shock me if this is some kind of Disney plus documentary or at least a music video. I think at least we're gonna get a music video out of this wedding, whichich you know I can sit here and hate on it, but am I gonna watch the music video? Yeah, I'm gonna watch the music video and Taylor Swift knows that, which is exactly why I think this is going to become a music video because it's already such a spectacle, but now we're going to see the spectacle from her eyes and how it's actually a really sweet thing for her to be able to get together with a thousand of her closest friends, which includes some of the strangest celebrities. becausecause what do you mean Adam Sandler married them? In Adam Sandler has actually spoken positively, positively about Taylor Swift for years and years and years. I didn't realize they were so close But when I heard that, I was like, that doesn't sound that crazy because he's been very publicly supportive of Taylor Swift. He mentions like how nice she was to his daughters and stuff like that. And also, he had Travis Kelsey in Happy Gilmore two, which was kind of a big deal U for Travis especially It made sense to me. This whole wedding, when people are like, it doesn't make sense. it doesn't make sense. I'm like, yes, it does, becausecause Taylor Swift isn't the Tayor Swift you used to know. And what's really funny is Carly Kloss went to this wedding. But for years and years and years, people have been like, nope, she hates Carly. She's never gonna to talk to Carly again. And I don't think people know what to do with that, especially the people who are real deep in the Swifty sauce as I have been I have been lost in that swwifty sauce before, but we don't know anything about Taylor Swift's life. You know, And I think that Carly Kloss showing up at this wedding just goes on to show how little we actually know about Taylor Swift's life. Also Carlly Kloss wearing a golden dress to Taylor Swift's wedding likeike I can't get into it I have really stepped away from the galor lore for years and it calls to me like the green goblin mask and I'm like, I can't do this, I can't talk about it. I can't do it because people get really, really upset at the idea of Taylor Swift kissing a girl. Other guests that I saw come and go from this massive event that felt like I was looking at the Met Gala. and again, people can say that Madison Square Garden was for privacy, but I know what almost every single celebrity who went to that wedding look like. I guess I don't know what Taylor looked like, which is probably the main reason for this MSG thing. I don't know. I still can't wrap my head around it other than the fact that she wanted to be the center of attention Which every bride does on their day, just usually it's not world attention because again, it's just like this weekend and and people are saying Travis Kelsey isn't getting enough heat. Can I go on to Travis Kelsey soapbox? Can I canan I are you guys gonna to get mad at me? Can I talk a little bit about Travis Kelsey? Travis Kelsey is thirsty. And anyone who doesn't see it, anyone who's like, Willet O is that one of the biggest tight ends for years, yes, I actually watch football I knew who Travis Kelsey was. Did Swifties? Absolutely not. Maybe some, maybe some Kansas City Swifties, maybe some Swifties who watch NFL, but that man had a dating show on the e network. You don't think that man's thirsty. This is nostalgian now and I'm sure people are going to get mad at it I actually don't think that Travis and Taylor are PR exactly, but they're also two people who really love attention and really love money. and then together, they know that they're going to get attention in money. becausecause Travis Kelsey has always wanted to be like Rob Gronkowski and he just never had it, you know, he never got that point where, you know, People who don't know the Patriots probably still know Rob Gronkowski. They're still probably aware of him being like the fun crazy wild tight end. Travis was never able to do that. He was never able to kind of get out of that shadow because of how big of a personality Gronk was And I mean, I think it's crazy that Travis gets with Taylor. and then his management has a New York Times piece that says he wants to be as big as the rock It's like, yeah, of course he does. That's what he's always wanted. Jason Kelsey, Yes, very talented linemen. You don't see many line men on TV being talking heads for sports commentators. You just don't So even him getting that is because of the Taylor Swift of it all. Taylor Swift has a ripple effect to people in her life, whether they want it or they don't And people are going to be like, well, Travis loves it and he loves her out loud. Of course he does. He's wanted this forever. I've never liked Travis Kelsey ever since he made fun of Tom Brady in twenty sixteen. And you can mark that date right there. And then I just found him like annoying. You know, the way he spoke, the way he dressed, the way he acted. I was like, who the fuck is this guy? He saw how Channing Tatum acted and step up. And he was like, I want that to be my whole personality. He watched him in like Coach Carter. He's like, man, I really see myself like that Yeah, I truly believe Travis Kelsey watched Channing Tatum and was like, that is my personality. And once you see it, you can't unsee it. Anyway, back to the guest list I have more thoughts because the chiefs are the new Patriots, they weren't as marketable as the Patriots. but anyway, anyway, anyway anyway Let's stick to the task. Let's stick to it. I don't want to get eaten up too badly. So the guest list was insane. Like Stehen A. Smith being there. I get it. he's a sports commentator, but I didn't know he was friends with them. Like it's really interesting to watch this wedding happen and being like, okay, Emma Stone being there makes sense. She's been friends with Taylor Swift since like fearless. You know, they've been friends for a long time. Selena Gomez makes sense. Sabrina Carpenter makes sense Pitt? Why is Brt Pitt there 'cause he was on the New Heights podcast? Why is he there? Sasha Barring Cohen, why is Sasha Baring Cohen at your wedding? Kareem Hunt, I know that he's on the chiefs, but he's also a woman abuser And so is Brad Pitt, by the way. People don't like to talk about it, domestic violence on with him. Sing Cream Hunt, not exactly shocking, but also like of, yeah, the the NFL really has a domestic violence problem that people don't talk about and now people won't talk about it because the NFL is such good marketing and they've really changed their marketing strategy. But that's a whole notother episode. See, that's a whole different episode that eventually one day I'm going to have to do As you guys know, I am engaged and we are attempting to put together a wedding up in new Rhode Island just for like My friends, my family to be able to go. And even that list, I'm like, there's some people who think they're gonna to make the list and might not make the list because of space. You know what I mean? Other celebrities that were there, Gigi Hadid makes sense, Bradley Cooper. Reys Witherspoon, I didn't know that her and Taylor were close Paul Rudd was there. He's a big chiefs fan. It seems like they just invited some people who are like big chiefs fans. like Eric Stone Street was also there. Zoe Kravz was there. I don't know why Jennifer Lopez was there, but she was there Paul McCartney's been on a bunch of like music shit with Taylor. bunch of music shit. They've been on Rolling Stone magazine together, Kelly. G it getet your mind right. Patrick Macahomes and Brittney were there makes sense. Tom Brady, I was kind of shocked to see there. I didn't know that him and Travis Kelsey had any kind of relationship A lot of this just seemed like, hey,re you're one of the greats, comeome to my wedding. You know, you're a great football player. come to my wedding. Seeing Julian Edelman really surprised me. I guess they've gone on each other's podcasts. I didn't know they were like friends outside of that. I wonder if they reenacted it in the castle that they allegedly put in Madison Square Garden It was nice to see some of the country singers. Brad Paisley was there, littleittle Big toown, Marn Morris, Miranda Lambert, Kelsey Ballerini. they were all there and kind of showed up together, which I thought was sweet. But overall, it's just, it kind of reminds me of the song on folklore last great American dynasty where she's like, The wedding's charming if a little gache There's only so far new money goes. So it's just very funny, especially if you're in like the fucked up lore of Taylor Swift I feel like if you' were a normal Swift, you'd be like, I don't think blank space is about fake relationships. But if you are like an internet person like me with my brain rot, you're like, oh, this is definitely about contracts. and she's definitely telling people sign your name on the dotted line so we can have a PR relationship. It's like, I don't know if all that's true, Kelly. I don't know. Sometimes you just say things or read things and you're like, I decide that that is the truth One of the pictures that was leaked on daily mail was you walk in, it's the TT sign and then a bunch of like framed photos and what's interesting is all those framed photos other than one or two were from like public appearances that we had already seen. Like one picture was from the U. S. openpen, one picture was from the Argentina Eris Tour, which is when Travis made sure to stand outside the tent to kiss Taylor like in public so everyone could see them kiss. So they could be like, oh my God, it's real love. It's like every picture you could kind of place at different moments that we've seen them together. Allegedly, they also got a dog together I hope that Taylor's three cats are well with this dog. Right when I saw a dog, I was like, oh my go, oh my go, is she a dog person now? See the parasocial thing is still there a bit It is there. I'm not pretending like it's not still lingering just below the surface, but I can see outside of it now. And before I could not see outside of it, you couldn't tell me shit about Taylor Swift without me like literally getting ready to box you. like in the Bad blub video, you know, strapping up my boxing gloves with my teeth, getting ready to duke it out with Carly Clos And what's funny is a lot of people are in my DMs being like, this isn't the taillor I know. I don't know this taylor. And I was like, I kind of get where you're coming from. How'd you have asked me during reputation or even folklore Evermore, like, would Taylor Swift get married at Madison Square Garden? I'd be like, abbsolutely fucking not. Also, she has so much money. She could get married in a random castle in I don't know, like Scotland and buy flights for everyone to get there without anyone knowing. She has enough money to have military grade security at this castle in Scotland is what I would have said Um I would have never thought that you would see Donna Kelsey doing a pap walk in Lag Guardia Also, what the fuck is up with this Donna Kelsey in Papwalks? Donna Kelsey is another one. No, I'm kidding. She's like seventy. I have to be nice to her I have like a one sided beef with a grandmother. It's not a very good look, but she does do pap walks. That woman loves to be like asked questions by paparazzi And it is really funny to watch people online be like, well, I didn't think it was going to happen at MSG, but it is happening at MSG and I don't know what to do with this I am curious to see how she transformed it. Although we kind of got a glimpse of it with the Daily Mail leak. It looks like it was a big garden and then a big church built, maybe in the middle of the garden sources have said that it was Alice in Wonderland themed, which makes me think of the song Wonderland and people think that song is about Diana Agron. It's just this whole big weave. But what's funny is big weave, big web Woven, big. Tangled web, the webs that we weave. You know what I' you guys know what I'm trying to say And a lot of people still think that this relationship is totally fake. And I did think that at the beginning. You know, I was someone who's like, oh, this is PR. we are getting everything. And I think that they liked each other and also like attention. I don't think you can say that this couple doesn't like attention. They get spotted everywhere Other than Kansas City, I have never seen Taylor Swift spotted outside of Travis Kelsey's home. I'm like, what's that about You know, we've seen Travis walking around New York at least once. The most recent one, I think it was like day of their wedding. It was AI. It was just him jogging in a circle. He was wearing two hats. Make sure to keep those eyes peeled for those AI videos. They get me too But yeah, like they want people to think that they are the ultimate love story. Are they? Maybe, we really don't know anything about this couple. We know that they maybe got a dog together. We know that they got married at Madison Square Garden for everyone to talk about, everyone in the entire world talk about it and make it either like you loved it, you hated it. It was very like there's no middle ground. The reason I have a big issue with it is it did close down small businesses in that area, like restaurants and bars, people weren't able to get to those so they had to close for the day. And there's one O'Brien's pub, I believe he's been kind of on a press tour about it and people are like Well, you were making cocktails with Taylor's name on it, so you probably didn't care then. and it's like he probably thought people would be coming to his bar the day of Taylor's wedding, and that's why he was having fun with it. Yes, of course he wanted to make money off of this. And yes, of course he's pissed that he had to shut down his business as any small business would be. Like it's not crazy that this guy is kind of unhappy with Taylor Swift shutting down his restaurant for her wedding And not just that, I know people who had trouble getting out of Penn station. they couldn't find an exit to go out of because all the exits were blocked. Like, yes, this was a really big inconvenience. And then you're fighting with Swifttyies online being you have Swifttyies being like, this is a sad life if this is all you're thinking about. It's like, listen, you guys love her because this is something to think about to like Make you not think of all the crazy shit that's happening in the world. That's why you love Travis and Taylor because it gives you that like almost like Nathan and Haley from onene Tree Hill, like the geeky girl got with the athlete and they're in love and people love that trope. We've seen it on teen dramas for decades at this point. And we're about to have like training camp start for the chiefs and Travis will get to go up on on the press conference stand and be like, Yeahah, you know, I did a little something over the break, but focus on football. Fus on football this year. It's going to be just like that. You know, this is my last season. I really want to get a ring and yeah, football But I'm happy about what happened during the offseason. He's going to say something just like that. Please, that'll be at what? mininute twenty four ish, twenty five ish. So remember that for when that press conference does happen and he says he's focus on, but Ballen wants to win one more ring before he retires Overall, though, I mean, Taylor Swift wants to be the best and biggest at everything that she does. and she definitely did it with this wedding. this wedding, I don't know if anyone's gonna top a wedding like this. I know people are mad that she didn't donate to like specific tr Charities like the LGBTQ plus charities, but at the end of the day, like she's helping people with food, she's helping animals get the care they need. And yeah, would it be great for her to donate to specific charities that would make it seem like she's not tiptoeing some line between being too woke or too MGa or whatever? Like he would bask in the glow of anything because he just wants attention. He is the same manager as Kristin Cavali and Erica, Jane and Nick Carter Think of that, when you think of Travis Kelsey, those are the people representing him, a man who has written a book about blind items. But I can't get into all that. People get mad at me. But yeah, those are kind of like the thoughts that I have as of Sunday july fifth at nearly two PM.
