All right, so the Knicks are up 2-0 now in their best of seven Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Philadelphia 76ers after the 40-point destruction in game one. Came back and really uh got away with one, I thought, in game two. Uh, I thought they were outplayed really most of the night by Philadelphia. But when the game was on the line, the Knicks did what they had to do to win. Big night in the clutch for Jalen Brunson, what at 26 points, a lot of big shots down the stretch against this guy, Barlow, who really gave him some trouble defensively. Mikhail Bridges, who continues his strong performance, you know, for all the beatdown that Mikhail Bridges has gotten in the regular season, you know, this guy, and even in the early parts of the uh series against Atlanta, you look at his last three games. Game six against Atlanta, he had twenty four points, and in the first two games against Ph illy, 17 and 18, tremendous defense against Tyrese Maxie uh on in game two. And he hit a monster shot uh late in the fourth quarter with the Knicks up four to put him up six to really kind of uh put them in a in a secure spot uh going toward the end of the game. Bridges has really played well. I mean, there's no question about that. The concern right now is the injury to OG Ananobi. And you can make a case that the Knicks' best player in the playoffs so far has been OG Ananobi. I mean he's been unbelievable. He's averaging over 21 points a game. He's averaging over seven rebounds a game. He's averaging more minutes than anybody, almost 36 minutes a night. Um, playing his usual unbelievable defense. He's real uh let's be real. OG Ananobi is the modern day Dave DeBusher. That's exactly what he is. Um He is a tremendous player. And look, do I think the Knicks can get away and still win this series without OG Ananobi? I do. But do I think they can go on and win a world championship, which is really the goal here? You know, I am so sick and tired of hearing people talk about, well, we got to get to the finals. No, we gotta win. Gotta win a championship. If this team doesn't, when is this team winning, if not now? This is the and I've said this repeatedly, this is the best starting lineup the Knicks have had since the championship teams. Patrick Ewing never, never had the supporting cast that we see now with this team. Never . He never had anybody like Jalen Brunson playing with him. He never had anybody like Ananobi playing with him. Right? He really never. You know, and even a guy like uh Carl Anthony Towns, although he and Patrick would play the same position . He hasn't had these kind of guys. And in all due respect to Charles Oakley and John Starks and the late great Anthony Mason and Latrell Sprewell and Alan Houston and Larry Johnson and all these guys, Derek Harper, all these different guys in the nineties that you know gave us so many uh you know great memories and so much pain as well. You know that's not the unit that we're looking at right now. This you could make a case that this is the best starting five in the NBA. All right. I mean I you can make a case. I understand Oklahoma City and they're blowing the Lakers out. They they blew them out now two games in a row in their Western Conference series. I understand that. You know, this this is this is a tremendous team. Leon Rose has put together a tremendous basketball team. And they're deep too. You come off the bench with Clarkson. You come off the bench with Mitch Robinson. You come off the bench um uh with uh uh Deuce McBride, you come off the bench with Alvarado , you know, this team is a deep freaking team . And speaking of Mitchell Robinson, how much did the Knicks miss him in game two? When Carl Anthony Towns got in foul trouble. And by the way, I am so sick and tired. You know, and and and I got a couple of my s guys I like that that that are sports writers getting on him for getting in foul trouble. How about how about the officials don't blow the ticky tack whistle on him that they always do? There was one foul in the game on on uh Wednesday night, where Tyrese Maxley basically uh Towns is standing there with his freaking hands up. Maxie kind of goes across him and may and and and and purposely makes contact with him and they call the foul on on towns. You gotta be kidding. The officials give this guy nothing. They give him nothing. And I'm tired of hearing about how it's his fault that he's always in foul trouble. Give me your freaking break. I'm tired of it. But you see when he's not on the floor, you know, and you don't have Mitchell Robinson to come in the game and you got to go with Huck Porti at center, you know, it's a different world. And one of the reasons that the that uh that the uh Sixers had so much success in game two in almost one game two, and as I said, really for most of the game outplayed the Knicks, is because they were killing the Knicks out of the offensive glass. Because if you don't have Mitch on the floor, and or you don't have Towns on the floor, you know, you're not getting offensive rebounds. I mean, you know, let's be real about that. And that's one of the reasons that for the most part in this game, I don't think the Knicks got an offensive rebound until the third quarter. I think Mikael Bridges got an o offensive board somewhere along the way in the third quarter in game two. And that was the first one they got. You know? So I I you know You said this place was steps from the water. We just haven't found the steps yet. How much did we save? Enough. Enough to get lost or you could book a stay with Hil ton. Learn more at LinkedIn.com slash small business . Again, uh, I'm tired of hearing about the the offici how about the officials leave leave towns alone? How about it? How about giving them a break? And how many times do we see him go to the basket and get absolutely hammered and they don't call nothing? I mean we've seen this over and over and over again. And the officiating game too was terrible. I mean, there's no other way to say it. It was bad. It was bad. But the Knicks overcame it anyway. Uh no doubt about it. Not a big issue, and again, another big game for Towns when he got back on the floor, just missed a triple double. He went for twenty, ten, and seven. The offense running through him has been unbelievable. And when you don't have Embiid on the floor, and who knows if he's playing again this series, who knows? You know, Joel Embiid, you know, I'm tired of hearing about this guy. Oh, this guy he's just he's just a big injury. They should rename like the injured list, the embied list, right? Shouldn't they do that? Because the guy's always hurt. I have never seen a superstar player be injured more than this freaking guy is. It really it's just it's just amazing to me. It really is. Just freaking amazing to me how that is. I I I, you know, I'm tired about hearing about this guy. Whether he plays or not, the Knicks are going to win the series. I said it would be a long series. Maybe it still will be. Maybe it will still go seven. I don't think it's going to at this point, but maybe it will. Maybe Philly comes back. I I mean I could certainly see Philly getting a game in Philadelphia. They better win today. Uh uh obviously. If Philly's, you know, it's over if they don't. You know, no NBA team has ever come back from 3-0 to win an NBA to win a seven-game series. That's never happened. And it's not going to happen this time . But look , the Knicks can I if I'm the Knicks tonight with Ananobi, I sit him tonight. You know, I wouldn't play him tonight. You know, rest him. Maybe you maybe you don't have to play him in either. I still I still think you'll get one of these two games, even if Ananobi doesn't play in either game. I really do. You know, you start Deuce McBride, you know, whatever you want to do, however Mike Brown wants to play it, doesn't matter to me. But, you know, could start Mitchell Robinson if you want. I mean I guess you could do that too. You could start him as uh in the uh Ananobi's uh uh spot. Could do that. I don't know how Brown will play it, but I would sit Ananobi tonight just to be safe. Sounds like it's not as bad as maybe we initially thought. And that's been the one negative. You know, the one knock on Ananobi as good as he is, is the injuries. You know, he he hasn't quite been Joel Embiid, but he certainly has been injury prone for the Knicks as well. I mean go back to that series two years ago when they lost to Indiana in seven after they were up two o in that series. You know, Ananobi got hurt, and that's really one of the big reasons that they didn't win that series against the Pacers . So we'll see. We'll see how it plays out. But uh there's no reason right now for me to think that the Knicks, as long as OG is 100% healthy, and even if he's not 100% healthy'.s no There reason to think this team isn't going to the NBA finals. And then they gotta win. Detroit is up too well on Cleveland. Cleveland's thanks. Detroit's winning that series. The Cleveland Cavaliers are one of the biggest frauds in the NBA. You know, they give you a nice regular season. Everybody gets excited about Donovan Mitchell. He's completely overrated. And um and James Harden for you know James Harden when if you look up the word overrated in the dictionary you',ll see James Harden's name next to it with the stupid beard, right? You'll see that. So I mean I you know, give me a break. Cleveland's a fraud. Detroit's winning that series. You know, maybe Cleveland will win a couple of games. I don't know. But the Pistons will win that series. It's going to be Knicks Detroit. Remember, that was the first round series last year with the Knicks winning in six. It'll be the Knicks Detroit in the conference finals. The Pistons will have the home court advan tage. It won't matter. You know, barring some divine intervention, the New York Knicks are going to the finals. And then they gotta win. And then that's it. Then they gotta win. There's no more of this. Ah, we got to the finals, great. No, you know , no, it's time to freaking win. It's time to win. And I got I and and this is kind of really unrelated to uh the whole situation with the Knicks, you know, it really is. Kind of it's kind of unreliable. So, how about this guy? What's his name? Chalamet? The guy who played Bob Dylan in the movie, right? He goes out with uh Jenna. Uh uh Kai was it because it Kyle Lee, I forget which one. She's hot . We know that. One of them. One of the Jenna kids, you know. Uh y what's his name now? Caitlin. Used to be Bruce and Chris Jenna . Uh the kid you gotta love the Kardashians. But whatever. You gotta love it. So anyway, they had this dumb met gala the other day, right, with all these, you know, you know, elite freaking people that are all, you know, smarter and better than you are in all these different, you know, uh crazy women wearing all their ridiculously stupid outfits. And I don't I don't I don't want to get into any more than that, okay? Right? So Ben Stiller , who's like, you know, now he's like Mr. Nick, right? Oh the great like he's the greatest Nick fan that ever lived. But whatever. So Ben Stiller did not go to game one. He wasn't sitting courtside at game one, right? Because he was at the Met Gala with his wife. Gotta make sure you don't want to get, you know, you better better watch it, Ben . They may cancel you if you're not at the Met Gala, right? You better be there. Unbelievable. So instead of going to the nickn game, Stiller goes to to the the uh Met Gallery with his wife, very lovely wife by the way, and she wasn't dressed like a you know, like she was going to a a sick Halloween party, you know, she was dressed like a an attractive, beautiful woman should at a at a formal event. With that said, okay? So anyway, so he t still took a lot of heat for this because he didn't go to game one. And you know, rightfully so. What are you doing? How do you mean you're supposed to be Mr. Nick f an? And you're missing a Nick game for for the the Met Gala? And I bring this up because Chalamet, what's his name? Timothy? I don't even know his first name. I don't know. Chalamet, right? Kylie went Kylie, not Kyrie Irving, Kylie Jenner, went to the Met Gala without Chalamet because he was at the Knicks game where he should be. So I give him credit . I give him credit. You know, he didn't go to the gala, he went to the game. Stiller went to the gala, he didn't go to the game. I just uh you know, we'll leave it at that, right? And I don't know, I guess maybe he'll be in Philly, maybe Shalom maybe there'll be a lot of Nick fans in Philly, even though the uh seventy sixes have tried to control the tickets uh being sold to uh people in New York, but there'll still be a ton of Nick fans there, there's no doubt about it. So, but I'm pumped up. The game unfortunately is on prime video tonight. I uh fortunately, my wife has it. So, you know, I have not missed any of the games because of the prime video, thankfully. So I'll be, of course locked in tonight. But we'll see. You know, and you gotta believe if Philly's gonna if Philly's gonna win a game, they're gonna win tonight. I mean, I you know, you're probably not gonna see Ananobi play. If Philly's gonna win a game, they're gonna win tonight. Whether M B plays or not. You know, so we'll see. We'll see how that all plays out. Uh Knicks win tonight. Hopefully they'll sweep. It won't go any more than five games. And uh we'll see. And I you know, I got a feeling that Detroit series is gonna be a short series with the paper thin , overrated uh, you know, uh Cleveland Cavali a complete fraud that they are, Cleveland Cavaliers. So we'll see what happens from here. But I want to parade. I want to win a championship. To me, anything short of a championship is not good enough this year for this Nick Team. And I will continue to say it over and over and over again. If they don't win it this year, when the hell are they winning? When? It's been fifty three years. I I I I'm sick of it, okay? I'm sick of it. And I get pissed off, I gotta tell you this too. All right? I get pissed off. Not unfortunately I,'ve seen the championship teams. You know, I've seen it all as a seventy two year old sports fan. I've seen the evolution of sports in this country. I've seen the NBA go from, you know, doubleheaders at the old Madison Square Garden in the early sixties, where the NBA was an afterthought, right? The college basketball ruled it was an afterthought to what it, you know, the mega schazillion, badillion, gadillion dollar, whatever it is, uh business that it is today. Right? Where everybody loves it. Everybody's part. Oh, I don't know. You know, all of it. You know, it's uh nothing attracts the fraud fan more than the NBA. You know, the trendy league that it's become. The NBA has become this trend y league, right? Where all the elites and all, you know, all the all the uh the uh uh actors and all these kind of people, you know, they're all got to go to the Nick to whatever again. It's not just the Knicks. It's basketball in general, right? So I seen it go from when people could give a damn about going to a basketball game, okay, to where it is now. But I seen the Knicks win their champ ionships. You know, I go back to Richie . Some guy to me the other day, I went the other day to see my my wonderful uh grandson Trey uh play in his basketball league and he's becoming a really, really nice player. I gotta tell you, he's twelve years old. He's on his way. I think we're gonna see him play in high school. He's he's really evolving and he's growing too. He's getting bigger too. He's gonna, you know, he hasn't reached his size limit by any means yet, and we're gonna see where it winds up for him. But whatever . So I went to see uh see him play the other night and it was the night of the uh game two. Uh it was an early start, so I didn't miss any really of game two. I missed maybe the first five minutes of the first quarter. By the time I got home, that was it. And I had my Nick stuff on, my my hat on I have now and all of that. And uh I had my Jalen Brunson uh shirt on and all of this, right ? And this guy says to me, you know, he goes, Oh, you know, I mean uh you know uh I I w I was there for Bernard King and I looked at him I'm like, Bernard King. I said, Bro , I was started watching the Knicks when Richie Garrin and Johnny Green were playing, Dick Van Osdale and Walt Bellamy. What are you talk ing about? Johnny, you know, but Aunt King, come on, of course. I laugh. I laugh. I really la . But I get mad when I hear people say, well, you saw them win a championship and I haven't. So what does that mean? You know what? It's more painful for me because I've seen all 53 goddamn years that they haven't won after winning. Just waiting to see more. You know, you're some 35-year-old Nick fan, okay, who, you know, has been a Nick fan for 20 minutes, okay, and you're complaining, oh, you saw him win. I didn't well . You haven't been through the fifty-three years that they haven't w on . You haven't been through all the freaking pain that we've had enduring o over all the years, right? You haven't been through that. Have you been through the Charles Smith Memorial? Have you been through that? Have you been through the finger roll series against Indiana? How about the uh the bench incident against Miami? You been through that? I'm I I'm I'm tired of hearing that bullshit, okay? Have you been through the pain of Michael Jordan or the pain of Reggie Miller or the pain of Hakeem Elijahwan? Have you been through that ? Have you been through the twenty years of crap that this franchise was in the abyss for all those years when they were a laughing stock of not only the NBA but a professional sports? Come on. Give me a break. Makes me crazy. Umble I I have to tell you. It makes me absolutely freaking crazy. I want to win a championship. I want to win another one. I want a parade. I don't care who wins it. Of course, I you know, look, I'd rather see the Jets win more than anybody. And the Knicks and the Mets are kind of, you know, one A to the Jets won . But I wanna win. I wanna win. Yeah, I was lucky. I saw Willis and I saw Clyde and I saw the Bush and Bradley and Barnett and the Pearl and Phil Jackson when he played for the Knicks and Jerry Lucas and Cassie Russell and and and Mike Reardon and Dave Stalworth. No, I saw them all. Red Holtzman . I was fortunate to see all those. Dean Meminger. I was fortunate that I was a teenager and got to see those great Knicks teams . But that's a long effing time ago . And now it's time to win. Now it's time for a championship. 53 years, okay? 53 years. You know? And I look at some of these people, like these young people, these knuckleheads that sit outside watching this stupid watch party outside Madison Square Garden because you can't get near a ticket because the cheapest ticket is like $300 . I mean, uh, come on. And this sitting out in the rain the other day, yucking it up. Give me a break. Come on . You think they know Willis Reed? They wouldn't know Willis Reed from uh Donna Reed if they don't even know what Donna Reed is. I mean, give me your freaking break. Unbelievable. Makes me crazy. Win the championship. There's no gray area. The finals are not good enough. Finish this series off against Philadelphia. Let's get on to the Pistons and let's go win a title. You know, I know how good Oklahoma City is, right? But are they the Bill Russell Celtics? Are they? Are they seventy two Lakers that won thirty three games in a row in a regular season? Are they them? Are they the Michael Jordan Bulls that won six championships? Are they? Are they is that the team they are? Are they the eighty six Celtics, one of the great teams of all time? You know, with Larry B ird and Kevin McHale and and Robert Parrish and Danny Age of Bill Walton as the sixth man? Are they that team? Are they the Steph Curry, uh Draymond Green, Clay Thompson Warriors that won all those championships? Are they? I mean, I I I don't know. I don't know . But I'll take my shot at them. If they're gonna be the team that's there, probably I'll take my shot. I'm ready. I want to win a title. Getting to the finals isn't good enough. You know, I've seen the Knicks go to the finals and lose. I saw them losing the finals in 72. I saw them losing the finals in 94. I saw them losing the finals in 99. I want to win a championship now. Nothing short of it is good enough for this Knicks team. Because if they don't win this year, when the hell are they winning? All right, let's get the sponsors in here. All right, let's get to the Mets here for a second. So the Mets took two out of three in Colorado, right? They've won four out of six on this road trip, two in Anaheim, two in Colorado. They're on their way to Arizona now to play the Diamondbacks. They lost yesterday six to two when Kek uh Craig Kimbrell gave up a uh controversial grand slam. What was the guy's name, McCarthy, that he gave it up to. And they lost six to two uh to the Rockies after they took the first two games of the series. Here's the bottom line. It whether that ball was fair or foul, does it really matter? Colorado had the bases loaded and nobody out. You think that you think Kimbrough was going to get out of that inning without giving up runs? Come on. You know better. So what's the difference if it was fair or foul? The bottom line is the Mets were going to lose the game anyway. But really, here's the point. So the Mets are 14 and 23 right now. They're done. The year's over. I mean, they're not making any miracle run. It's not happening. Okay? Not happening. They're not making the playoffs this year. You know, David Stern destroyed this team. And check out John Heyman's article. And I haven't seen the whole article yet about his comment about David Stearns and Pete Alonzo, where Alonzo basically called Stearns out at this meeting two years a go with his dumb analytical bullshit, okay? And how's that working out? And I gotta say this, okay? And we all wanted one soda, right? We all wanted him. Every method, I wanted him too . But let's be real. This guy ain't getting it done for this team. And I know he had a big year last year, 43 homers, 105 RBIs, all those stolen bases. You know what though? He doesn't have Pete Alonzo and Brandon Nimo hitting behind him anymore, does he? But still, how many times have we seen Soto come up in big spots and not get it done? We've seen it over and over again. He's batting about 130 with runners in scoring position. He had a chance yesterday in a two-two game to break the game open. The Mets had two guys on with two out. Soto up. He swings at the first pitch and pops out to second base. He never gets a big hit. Even with all the numbers he put up last year. He didn't get any. Did he get really one really big hit all year for the Mets? Did he? Maybe one. Maybe . I'm tired of it. You look at his numbers, they look great, right? Oh, his OPS is over 900. Oh, he's batting over 300. Yada yada . It's bullshit, because he never gets a big hit ever . Ever does he? He had a big spot the other day. I think it was against the Angels in a game they lost. They had the bases loaded. We won out with a chance. Oh, that's what it was. It was the game against Colorado. The game they won in the cold on uh the 10 5 game 10,-4, whatever it was. The Mets have four runs in. They got two guys on, right? Two guys on that first and third with four runs in away already and one out. And here comes Soto up with a chance to break the game game open. You know, he do es? He hits it to a double play. Of course. And Mets won a game anyway. But still. Hits it to a double play. Yeah, you hit a home solo home run to lead off the game. Okay, great. And then yesterday does, like I I mentioned what he did yesterday, and does often. And I am sick and tired, and there's people out there that, you know, they're like uh you know, they're like the bus boy for soto. You know, they might as well be his valet, okay? Who kisses ass no matter what? Oh, I love him. Oh, soda. Oh, yeah. Well, he did this in Washington. He did this with the Yankees. He did that in San Diego. I don't give a flying shit. What Juan Soto did for somebody else. He's on my team now. And until he does it on my team, I don't give a damn what he did for anybody else. You know? And this is I've seen this forever with the Mets. You know, Jim Fragosi was a great player for the Angels. He sucked with the Mets. Carlos Vallega was a great player for the Indians. He sucked for the Mets. Robbie Alamar was a Hall of Famer. Toronto, Cleveland, you know, wherever else he's San Diego, right? He sucked with the Mets . Jason Bay was tremendous, right, with Pittsburgh, that year he he he took over for Manny in Boston, he had a great year. He sucked with the Mets. How many guys have we seen like this? I could go on and on and on, right? I mean seriously, right? Oh, this guy was great for this team. Oh, this guy was great for that team. And he comes to the Mets and he sucks . And then when we got homegrown guys that are getting the job done, we dump 'em. Right? We dump 'em . And I don't want to document all the different mets that have been let go over the years. And did you see that article? And I didn't read the whole article because I'm having, you know, I I maybe it's in the post. I know Heyman uh texted me the link. I know uh Joey T uh told me, you know, uh alerted me to the article and all where we're basically in this meeting two years ago when they went when they actually signed Pete, the y the last uh time they gave him a contract before they let him walk, well he basically tore into freaking Stern 's and his analytical nonsense. And David Stern, we talk about the players. David Stern's is a perfect example. I don't give a damn what he did in Milwaukee. Okay? Do you really give a shit what he did in Milwaukee? I don't. And he didn't win nothing there either. Oh, you know, he had a playoff team with a low payroll. I don't care. Did he win a championship? No. Did he get to the World Series? No . I don't give a damn what he did in Milwaukee. I only care what he's gonna do for the Mets. And so far he's done jack shit for the Mets. Alright ? I'm tired. I really I I it makes me crazy. And this team's in the tank because of him. Alright? Let's be l let's not shoot yeah, I understand Lindor's hurt, I get it, I get that, okay? Bachet's been terrible, Polanco's on the IL, Robert is on the IL, yeah, Sanger's shot. I'm t I understand all of this, okay ? The bottom line is David Stearns destroyed this baseball team. Destroyed it. There's no other way to say it. And I don't give a damn what he did in Milwaukee, just like I don't give a damn what Ju lio did in Washington or San Diego or with the Yankees. I don't care . I only care what he does for my team. And so far, he's been a disappointment. Let's not sugarcoat it any other way. Yeah, he put up big numbers last year. And who do you have hitting behind him? And when did he ever get a really big hit for this team? Yeah, okay, he started hitting a little bit late in the season with running the scoring position, please. I'm sick of hearing it. All right? This guy should be carrying his team. When he has a chance to break a game open, go break the damn game open, he never do es. And I don't like I said, I'm gonna say it over and over and over again. I don't give a flying rat's tail to what you did for somebody else, okay? I don't. I I don't I don't give a rat's ass
