It is going to get spicy. A lot to cover Numbers can vary when it comes to a thicken fast, full of action weekend, like we've just seen at Silverstone. we of course, Tommy left the racet trrack thinking we knew what had happened Oh no, we didn't. Hopefully we now know what happened How are you feeling ahead of this big driver ratings of the season I'd love in well I wouldn't, but in an alternate universe where we did driver ratings after going to a Grand Prix I would be the most chaotic and wrong people say I'll drive right to wrong anyway. Imagine how insane it would be because yeah, the amount you Don't get to absorb that it's all absorbed now and we've looked at every nugget of information over the next few days since the race, of course. Just a couple of sponges. we have absorbed it all everything. We're ready to share it with you. I don't know if that's very strange, but anyway, we are here. let's get into it right away and start with Sergio Perez. Sprint qualified nineteenth, finished the sprint in twenty second, started the main race in twentieth the main race in fourteteenh. Mrade The Sgia Paris H' a six out of ten I think he had a very good grand Prix Uh Hadlack as much as they did finish Unsurprisingly, some reliability issues maybe look made Valti look slightly better in qualifying than he was we were h, you know, herolding Valtterri for a comeback in qualifying, but Perez was plagued with a few issues that he had to sort out. but The reason I've gone for a six are not higher. you know, fourteenth in the main race is pretty good, close actually, Tommy to taking bot ass position in the championship, isn't it P thirteen for Valttere? It is P thirteen. It is yes. not far away at all But he did yeet Alonzo in the sprint, which was could have been easily avoided Um, I've gone for a six so give a little bit a nod to the fact Per putting a reasonable performance in a car that is very hard to judge I've also gone for a for Sosoio Perez Pro probablyably would have been higher maybe without the sprint collision Uh course with Alonso, but a good result in the end for Perez even though probably more down to obviously the retirements because still he only finished ahead of the Aster Martins and his teammate and of course, Antinelli to ten out of Yeah, he beat a Mercedes the class of the field ten for Peres. Tommys losing voice already. fantastic. Only one out of the twenty two drivers down. The fans gave Perez a six out of ten as well. Valtriry Potas Sprint qualified in twentieth, finished the main sprint the main sprint just the sprint in nineteenth, started the main race in eighteenth and finished the main race sixteent gone for a five for Veltterary Botas He's clloser to Perez, but yeah, he had a good qualifying in the main race was was a long way off obviously finished behind him in the end thanks to the safety car Um and how they bunched everyone up. if he'd He was actually one fif seven away from beating a Mercedes what might have been for Botas and you know, maybe it would have been a ten out of ten then if you' have just accelerated a little quicker to the line as the safety car came in and he might have got Antonelli what a performance that would have been, but no it's a five for Botas. Wow, gosh, goodness gracious me, it's Dr. Sarcasm over there. That's usually me. We'd love to see it. Valttery Botas is getting a five out of ten from me. Yeah, the main race was poor from a pace perspective, he was thirty three seconds or maybe even slightly more behind Perez before the safety car came out and spared his blushes as they of course go over the line very close together Qualifying, as I mentioned with Perez, I think made him look slightly better than perhaps He would have been on pure pace, but still it was a decent qualifying. I'm not going to downgrade him for that, but the main race was just yeah, it was poor in comparison to his teammates. so I'm going to go for a five The fans gave him a five as well Franco Colapinto. Sprint qualified fourteenth, fininished the sprint in twelfth, started the main race in nineteenth finish the main race in ninth I am going to lock in a seven out of ten for Franco Colapinto nineteenth to ninth on paper Looks phenomenal. Don't get me wrong. Brilliant performance to bounce back after qualifying where I think he had a car failure or it wasn't his fault, the reason why he had that that big old spin at Magon downforce Eactly H that one before? Itt m this happen in f. Yeah, I know like is this what we're going to have to constantly talk about in forormula one in Maybe this is the new deployment issues pererhaps Yeahah, or like yeah, it just just this is kind of the, you know, we're talking about, oh the rear wing is not closing properly. This is what we were concerned about for round one. Do you remember when we saw the active area when we went Surely that they're not going to shut at some point and we're going to have a big collision and even though visually it looks like they're fine. that they're still getting these these this massive downforce loss. But Colopinto Yeah, had a strong race, but let's not forget that he finished behind Bortletto, both V cAbs and only was ahead of Gazley because of a slow Gazley pit stop. That's why it's not any higher than a seven. A seven is a good grade I think, of course, without all of the issues for everybody else ahead of him. he wouldn't maybe have scored a point, but Either or We started way back That's why I've gone for a seven because it was a good recovery drive I've gone for a seven for Franco Colopinto as well A beat his teammate in the race, but yeah, thanks to you know, a bit of good fortune of course. And yeah, he We've seen that Colorinto has got a good points finish here. But when you actually look at the kind of people that he's behind and ahead is kind of where you expect the Alpines to be, if you like based on the kind of order as you mentioned with being u behind Bortolltto and the people we are ahead of is obviously Piastrires and Antono that have had U problems during the race and then everyone else like Williams's houses and Cadillakaxs Nomise you expect to beat. So it's still a good performance and I'm sure they'll be happy with the points, but it's no higher than a seven The fans, they agree. We're all in agreement right now. I hope we're about to start arguing. That's always when it's so s. The fans gave Franco a seven Pierre Gazley. Sprint qualified eleventh, finished the sprint in eleventh, started the main race in twelfth and finished tenth I've gone for a seven out of ten for Pierre Gasli as well U Yeah, he's um Unfortunately for alpine, they're not quite hitting the heights they were. at the start of the season in particular where Gazy was just picking up P sevens and things for fun. that seems to very much be the racing bulls now But it's still a pretty solid performance from Gazi in a consistent a consistent one, but the slow stop of course kind of screwed him from beating his teammates Absolutely. I've gone for a seven as well for Pierre because can't really separate him and Colapinto by a whole point. so I've gone for the same because Yes, Gazy fell behind after that pit stop But he also couldn't just steam through. They were quite similar in pace. Even before the pit stops, they were very close together. So a slightly better sprint for Gazley, but overall I'm going to keep them both on the same grade. So I've gone for a seven. The fans Seven as well. Oh my go guys, we're just having such a lovely try for ratings episode. I can't wait for us all to be in harmony Fantastic Gabrielle Bortletto Sprint qualified twelfth, finished the Srint in thirteenth, started the main race in eleventh and finished in eighth My grade for Gamriel Bortleto E. eightight out of said a really solid weekend from Bortaletto to score some points Finally after a long drought for Audi in general, of course Gabby has picked up a couple of points I think before, but this is a great haul for an Audi team that has struggled to finish races, whether it's due to kill switches or something more ingrained in the reliability. side of things and just getting off the line as well. But Bortceatto had a very strong race and The sprint was nothing really to get excited about. But he was there in a position to capitalize at some of the top teams and top drivers have issues and I mean, it's not just that. I think he put down a really good performance. He was quicker than Holkenberg who was having A scruffy silver stone, I think it has to be said And overall, I think he got a very good amount out of the car this weekend. I'm going to go for an eight out of turn to Gabrielle Bors letter as well I was considering a nine, but based on my Other grades, which we'll see later, I can't can't give him a nine competitive a few others spoiler we' be getting minds of course T me the channel off for the episode now. know, you're going to give a n. Yeah exactlyaz. No that's huge news that we've all been waiting for. So yeah, Bortoletto, the fact that yeah, he got a lovely little P eight, which is amazing for Audi. I think he did a really good job to kind of hanging on to the racing boalls. He slipped back a little bit, but it certainly wasn't a long way off them and comfortably clear of the alpines as well and finally got his reward for being in a strong position and it happened to be a race where they could actually finish the race and a little bit of a race of attrition as well with some top guys having problems I which helped him get a lovely P eight I do love how you use race of attrition very casually these days. Race of attrition is like eight cars out. L come on. It was not a race of attrition. There was an Antonelli issue And Piastry had his front wind go And Versteppen was out That's three c there's three cards I don't think you can card of attrition. I think And Hilkenberg was out and album was out. Tomm me, we used to watch forula One where you would have three finishes at Monico. That's a race of attrition right there, my go. You know o. Da The fans gave Gabby Bortletto an eight out of ten. Niico Holkenberg, Sprint qualified thirteenth, finished the sprint in fifteenth, startarted the main race in thirteenth didid not finish gone H M I' going for a five out of ten for Nico Olenberg. I think a disappointing race for him. He didn't seem to have the pace of his teammate U And yeah, just a few mistakes here and there. He had a lapt time deleted for track limits in In Q two u spun off as well. you know, during during the race on lap two And of of course the retirement wasn't his fault, but it's still not not the best weekend for Hkenberg a track that of course he got that famous podium for no Trophy for this time Not even close. For Nica Hoockenberg, I'm going to go for a five out of ten. not the weekend that We saw last year The heroics, sadly for Nico, it was. one that was pretty scruffy in qualifying, he struggled with track limits. Of course he also got the penalty in the sprint. which dropped him from thirteenth to fifteenth And overall, just didn't show the pace that the Bortletto had in the Audi, which is a shame because Bs letter was able to take a good amount of points for Audi home and I'm not even convinced that Nico would have had he not hadad he actually finished the race. So aide from me, the fans Five out of ten Este Ban Okon Sprint qualified eighteenth, fininished the sprint in sixteenth Started the main race in seventeenth finish the main race in thirteenth we might disagree with this one Let's see for six out of ten fest Banoc com. Oh now Tommy' put his head down. That means he thought it was also going to be left field. and he's also gone for a six out of ten Kon's performance wasn't actually that bad and I'm going to shout it from the rooftops. He has been on show from the rooftop six that' well done Speran. sixix is good these days for for Estie Bestie when we think about how much he has been struggling and how much how far he's been behind Behermman He had a sixteen and a half second pit stop. He was going to beat Behermman in that race Yes Beermman got yeed himself after having a por start we'll get onto him But overall, I think in a car that is dreadful Can we just remind ourselves this hs is dreadful. This is kind of where we expect them to be nowadays. I think Este Band didn't do too bad of a job when you look at how where he has been. So I've gone for a six I've also gone for a six out of ten for Spanakon poor qualifying again, which is where, you know seen most of his struggles this season, but his start was absolutely amazing. Yes seventeenth to eleventh, unbelievable scenes. Exactly. So G an amazing star. and yeah, would have U probably been ahead of a Bairman without the slow pit stop. So yeah, he's done much better this weekend and it's just a shame because He's had a strong weekend, but he's got nothing to show for it because of the slow stop and also that the house is just absolutely dreadful now. They've fallen off like crazy They really have, it's sad to see the fans disagreed Five out of ten Ollie Bermman. Sprint qualified seventeenth, finished the Sprint in fourteenth, started the main race in fourteenth and finished twelfth I've gone for a six out of ten for Ollie Beermman as well. It's a good result for a car that's still not there, P twelve But yeah, obviously got by Alex Albin. At the start of the race, dropping him all the way to the back, And it's a good recovery drive considering that Uh consider everything that happened, but likeike his teammate what is going on with HAS, They were so strong at the start of the year. and full enough big time. Yeah, they need a big old upgrade package by the sounds of it. I've gone for a six out of ten for Ollie. shame about the start that he had, which as with all of the mistakes we seem to see this year was not his fault and it's something I'm getting very frustrated about not the fact that it wasn't his fault as such, but just the fact Well actually no, that is exactly the reason why I'm angry is because I want to see Cars be reliable for the drivers that we don't have to talk about Max going off in the gravel and now it's actually not his fault or people drivers losing positions at the start, but it's not their fault because they've got terrible start procedures in the car. like it's quite frustrating thing to to see drivers try and figure out these spaceships for this year The new regulations really did not take our drive ratings into consideration. They didn't they? Because how on eararth are you supposed to grade someone when The team or the driver says, when it was my fault, I did all I could. but I've gone for a six out of ten for Ollie Berman because his pace was really good once he was finished tussling with Alex Alalbn, especially I think in that final stint he was he was very quick, of course, be his teammate. we've said why that happened So I've gone for a six to sort of match his teammates' grade. The fans on for a six as well. Lance Stroll Sprint qualify twenty second, finish the sprint in twenty first Started the main rason twenty first Finished in nineteenth. I have gone I've gone for a four out of ten for lunch droll Yeah The reason why I've downgraded him Because he out qualified forand Alonzone mayaybe very muchag ming a seven actually for No, they love a about Alaner a tax road. I do. I do however, the reason I'm downgrading him and I'm downgrading him quite significantly is because of the way he drove this weekend Now that sounds very generic. but The way he drove in the sprint was Quite frankly, ridiculous. It was like a kid throwing their toys out the pram with the way in which he was just full locking r every corner like it was just a bit of banter. And then also in the race having twenty one track limit excursions. What are you doing, bro I know your car's rubbish but also You're a formmera O driver, have some professionalism when it comes to that. I couldn honestly, I could not believe I was not watching a game when he was doing the full lock stuff. So that's why I've downgraded him because you know what, without all those shenanigans, he's probably getting a six because he's out qualified for anam Alonzso, which is the greatest thing He can do in that Astor Martin, but now it's a four And that's what they're all here for for our grades. So yeah, what could have been for Lance Rl? I've given him a five. I disagree.agree finally in Lance Rl Excellent times the I was giving him like bit of an extra nod for beating alongone qualifying and then taking one off to Tack limit warning drawing warnings one of twenty one of them exactly. loads of them them there shocking car to drive. do agree with you in the sense that, you know, it's not helping anyone the way he's driving. It's funny to look at and you can go, o my go, ask a mine, what a ridiculous thing. And Alono's done done, you know, the odd burnout here and there and stuff. but They need to kind of You know, if they if they're going to get any and all this kind of stuff and work out what is wrong with this car and try and improve it Ging full lock through cops is helping no one and I get it's frustrating, but And yeah, it just comes across like not it's not helping anyone and it is ridiculous. But yes, another disappointing weekend for Aon Martin, they spoke to Adrianne Newy on the grid and he was saying that oh, we hope that when we get the upgrades we'll get into the midfield. But They just seems so far off. like I'll believe it when I see it indeed at the fans Gave Lanceer five as well Fernand Alonzso, Sprint qualified in twenty first, finished the Srint in twenteth, started the main race in twenty second and finished eighteenth I am going for a six foronso all because of his sprint and how he caught Lance Roll from basically being booted all the way to the back and then basically charged back to pass him. but Very little joy from Ason Martin at the moment. I've got to give him higher than than Lance Stroll P The Lego race doesn't come into account as much as I'd love to because that was a ten out of ten an Alono showing that Giving me called machinery and he is clearly the best driver of them all. No he's used to driving a lawnmower. That's why Yeah cassing all those corners. And when you're allowed to get your hand out the car and press the other person's brake pedal and stuff always helps in your quest. I did see Someone did a post on I't ifisit Instagram or Twitter, but It was a picture of Alonso's Lego car parked up on the track and Edrew knew was there with a clipboard and it was like Alonzso after winning the race of the Lego car. I mean, take notes at this point they're probably scraping a barrel for anything for anything ye. Exactly. I've gone for a five out of ten for Fernando Alonso. I don't I'm not even going to commend him for catching Lance Stroll after literally what I just spoke about with Lance Stroll and the way he was driving in the race. with with those full lock bits of very large strangeness is any way I can I can put it. but Alongso quicker the Lunch Droll gets a point above him. Let's move on because Aston Martin are just a joke. So hopefully they will have an upgrade, a massive one, a new car, and then we can actually start to grade them, maybe. we'll see. The fans gave Fernando a five out of ten. This episode is sponsored by Factor When you're hungry, exhausted, and staring at an empty fridge, it's easy to make poor food choices. Sprint qualified tenth. F finish the sprint in tenth startarted the main race in ninth Finished, seventh I am going to go eightight out of ten A Limb that I think he had a very strong weekend Again, As a rookie, he's doing a really, really good job. The VCb once again consistently the fifth fastest team didn't have the measure of Liam Laws, though As much as there was a team radio of him saying, Ah, Lawson needs to pick pick speed up you know, and sort of insinuating coming through if you don't, Liam then responded by going, okay, then see you later. So I think that that there's yeah, there's some weird sort of tensions there mainly, I think from the Rvid side of things, perhaps as a rookie really wanting to to impress. And I'm just sat here going, mate, you're doing a good job. Let's not rock the boat here Let's not try and do what we did in Austria and try and be this number one driver. You don't need beef with Liam Lawson at this stage. you don't. You don't need beef with your teammate because you're not challenging for podiums, you're not challenging for victories. justust show what you can do and build the confidence from there. But that being said, it's eight out of ten. It's a great weekend But just slightly off laws in terms of pure pace, it seemed. Yeah, I' gone for an eight out turn as well for Lnn Blad. strong result in the sprint race, of course qualified Lawson in qualifying for the main race as well, which was a highlight but didn't have the pace of Liam in the main race. So another solid job in a racing balls that is just doing so well. but I want I want the spice. I want I want to know what on earth is going on because his demeanor A Hind his post race radio message was absolutely crazy. If you hadn't You know, we didn't see anything insanely controversial. And if you'd have watched that his post race interiew without watching the race, you'd have think that would have just had like A Fernando is faster than you moment or something crazy or like something hugely controversial that he feels like he's been absolutely screwed over by or he's had the worst race of his life because he was just kind of like, Yeah, ace And you could tell there was something definitely on his mind and wanting to kind of B his bite his tongue a little bit about So I don't know if I misard but did you say radio initially or did you mean the post race interview so that the interview. Yeah. I maybe you said radio because Yeah, ye. I wondered if I'd missed something, that's all that' why asked. but no the interview Yeah on the Pma one posted, it was crazy. Yeah, I was like, Mate, you just finish you just finished seventh British Grand Prix it's quite the quite the performance, but yeah the fans gave Hard Limblad an eight out of ten as well Liam Laws Print qualified nin Fish the sprint in eight started the main race in tenth and finished sixth gone for a nine out of ten for Liam Lawson, another brilliant performance from Liam Best of the restest in both the Srint and the qualifying. only you know downgrading him for the fact that he got out qualified by Limblood in the main race and also the move with Piastri and I think it's a racing incident but he's also slightly fortunate because he's the one that moves over and makes quite an aggressive move U that that he's not damag his car in any way. I think it's a case where like had they seen the incident and there was more like videos of it and stuff Be they love to investigate things, don't they based on consequence, even though they shouldn't. I personally think it was a racing incident. it's still another superb job for Liam and et load of points again I've gone for a nine out of ten as well for Liam. As you say, out qualified in main qualifying, but overall, you know, it's not far away from a perfect weekend. The fact to beat Hajar in the sprint to score a point of course with Isaac's problems off the start was really, really impressive And then in the main race, he had the measure of Lyn Blad, his rookie teammate and he's doing a great job. if there genuinely is some truth to this sol of rumor that of course has been squashed. so you know, there's nothing to really push there, But if there is another driver waiting in the wings, I think it would be very unfair for either of these drivers to lose their seat so so I'm hoping for their skes that's not the case because they're both firing on pretty reasonable full cylinders, I would say. If Lilliam keeps driving this well, it does does make you question if Max retired. I think we've said so many times that once you' dropped from Rebel, you're never going back. If Max retires, I wouldn't put it past it if he keeps delivering like this and continuesest. I don't think so. I think that from what I've heard Those two races were such a torid time for Lawson. You know, the fact that they pulled him out after two races shows that it just wasn't working. and I know like Christian Horner isn't there helmet Marco, etcetera different reggs I don't know. I just don't think that that would be I don't know if a board want to take that risk, especially if they're looking for a They' a team need to replace I don't think they would go with Lawson if Max is the one to leave. but that's not to say that Lawson wouldn't be able to thrive in another sort of front running team should a should a space come up, but I mean, as we know in Formula one spaces at top teams Don't usually come around all that often Nines from us and the fans also gave him a nine Car signigns. Sprint qualified fifteenth, finished the sprint in seventeenth, started the main race in fifteenth. Finished in seventeen I am going to go for H I'm going to go for seven out of ten for Caroff signs I don't think I don't think the u Oh no, T me do it again for God's sake. The results do not match what he actually put down in a car that is really, really struggling He was quicker than Alex Albon the entire way through the weekend, mainly because Alex spoke to us and therefore curse was on him Um He was given a penalty lap I am not going to say downgrade him for that because it was just a big old confusion as to whether he was or wasn't allowed it and the team said, yes, you should Unlap yourself and he did And then the FA were like, you cheeky boy have a penalty lap But yeah, he also had an amazing start, which needs to not be ignored, fell away because the Williams is dreadful But yeah, I wanted to shout Carlos signigns his praises for for a good very sort of quiet and unnoticed weekend, I would say So did I because I've gone for a seven as well for Carla Sci. Stop it. I know.ulous I completely agree. it's very easy just to look at those results and go, okay, five, whatever's not done all that great. But He finished twelfth on the road before, of course, that penalty that wasn't his fault. that was all on Williams And yeah, his his start to get up to tenth place quicker than Alburn you know, the place he finished on the road in twelfth is being two passes, which I think Uh, you know are better than the Williams or at least very close. And yeah, science is Just not able to show what he can do, but at least he gets a nod in drive ratings? I'm sure that make him feel a little better May Indeed. Well, we don't know if he watches. We've heard Alex might tune in occasionally, and I'm not sure. I think Alex, if you are watching, turn off now. Turn off now, ye. you don't want tona hear your driver rating. The fans gave Carlos a five out of ten. You know how he was saying that it's easy to give a five out it? Yeah, you did it. Well done. No I'm kidding.lease don't hurt But you left. Alex Alrbonn Sprint qualified sixteenth, finished the sprint in eighteenth, started the main race in the sixteenth Did not finish Gone for a four out of ten for Alex Albin. pointing Wekend for him yeah, it's mainly down to, of course the the stop crash as well, but didn't outqualify science, of course and then he's had a crash at the start, which was his fault. So I've gone for a for Alex Allbin I have gone for a three out of ten for Alex Albon, mainly judging the the incident at the start as a kind of race defining race ending moment for him He didn't have the pace of Carlos, as we mentioned in Carlos' rating. Yeah to lock up and crash into Behman was Pretty pretty poor and he accepted that as well U And also yeah, wasn't wasn't great in qualifying either. So Overall, a weekend to forget for Alex, but I have to give him a low grade because crashing into someone else when it's your fault, I feel needs to be reflected in that way. So three out of ten for me, the fans Am I amm I reading that correctly? The fans gave him the same grade as Carlos Sciins five out of ten Maybe there was some P one cursed tax. Wow I'm sorry I'm still absorbing that one. The amount of hate we get for our driver ratings, that is wild. Let's now go to Lewis Hamilton Sprint qualified first, finished the sprint in second, started the main race in third, finished third I am going to go for A nine out of ten for Louis Hamilton I think it was a really strong weekend for him. The sprint was phenomenal to get Sprint Ple in the first place Unbelievable. Uh, he put on a great fight against Kimmy Antonelli in the sprint race as well As for the main race kindind of a different story you know, the, uh It's kind of deliberate between an eight and a nine to be honest, because the main race he was lacking quite a bit compared to Charl L leclerc. over over the course of the race distance and also over in qualifying as well. he was lacking a little bit. But I'm going to give a nine because I was so thoroughly impressed with the sprint side of this weekend for him that I feel an eight is slightly harsh So yeah he was brilliant for a lot of the weekend but missed it on the mask did the start is start the star. eight out of ten. I'm sorry. No, that's that's pushed me to the to the eight It's got it's got to be an eight out of ten. I'm sorry Hamilton fans and eight may I remind you is still a very good grade. It's not a two which a lot of people seem to react when a one point difference is like, wow you think he's a terrible driver. That's not the case. But yes, I just remembered the jump startart so it's an eight out of ten I've gone for an eight out of ten for Lis Hamilton his sprint was absolutely Amazing sprint pole position as well think he completely over deellivered where that car should be and yeah, looked to continue to have the measure of his teammate, but then it completely flipped on its head for the main race. So not only was Hamilton slower than Leclerc while Leclerc Obviously raced off into the lead. Hamilton slipp back behind Anton early, of course had the penalty as well for the jump. Well technically actually moing moving before Sorry, whenver, you know like, you know, that's tomatoes, tomatoes, tomatoes. Exactly It's all about's still it's still moving. It's anticipation of the star, isn't it U And yeah, we also saw that there was a post race investigation as well Um which he even was like, I'm going to get a penalty for this. He himself thought it was going to be a penalty, which is C you into context with that? So the penalty that Hamilton got Um was let's see. So there's a yellow flag. No who didn't get sory. No, sorry. he didn't get penalty was being invest. was being investigated. He got cleared of the penalty and And he got cleared of the penalty. But he in his quote said, I'm probably going to get a penalty right now as well this I went through a yellow u I went through a yellow flag And I didn't I'm guessing didn't see it. is this is on the official formula on website. Oh that' not transcribed it very well, but I'm to say and I didn't see it Jumped the st yellow flag when it rains it pulls. so he was convinced he was going to get an actual penalty for it, but he did not That would have been very costly as well because that would have dropped him probably out of the points. seven out of No. it's an eight still for Hamilton, but yeah, it's definitely an eight out of ten for a couple of costly errors in the Grand Prix but yeah, maybe slightly fortunate in the end despite the bad luck, of course that happened with his his pits up at the end, which adamant, you know, it's not for our's fault though. it was just more from Mercedes. The Fans gave Lewis Hamilton a nine out of ten. Charleacclc Sprint qualified fourth, finished the sprint in fifth, startarted the main race in second, finished first Ive gone for a nine out of ten for Charleacler. What o my God. And yeah, obviously, it can't be a ten because of how poor he was in the sprint, in my humble opinion and but what a turnaround to actually win the main race, look much quicker, whatever he's done with us philosophy of the car or whatever it is. and which I've also seen is like some kind of There's now again, there's so much chat on social media and, you know, take things with a pinch of salt, but there seems to almost be like a Now we're what's the word? L a disagreement between I guess, certain fans whether But I I'm trying to think why I actually saw it. It was like Hamilton saying that Charles leaned in his direction But then I've seen other things to suggest that Chharl actually didn't go in Hamilton's direction of the philosophy. So I would like that all clear That's why predictable news sources not Twitter, I guess That's not a dig at you. that's just general. That felt like a dig at me. I. Yeahah, that's much. It depends. if it has the alaram emojis, that's a objectking it's not a trusted source.'s the secret news The secret news, yeah, it's com coming guys by the end of drive ratings, maybe we will find out that The secret news is actually what grade I've given U Antonlli Wow, mayaybe okay, stay tuned. Maybe stay we will announce it. Maybe we just' announce it move on. It's gott to be massive. It's massive news guys. Yeah. so Leclb the fact that he's found something And what a way to do it. I do think you probably would have finished second on the road as well But I don't think you know, that's more, I think that Mercedes and Nantoni have the pace more than Char doing a bad job. So yeah, nine out of ten for Charlle le Clerc Shada Claire is receiving A nine out of ten. as much as it makes me feel physically unwell because the Sunday element was one hundred out of ten U Yeah, the sprint you know, we are grading on the full weekend. We're grading on the full weekend and he was not on Hamilton's level. If Hamilton, right had qualified Well Srint qualified sorry, around where Sha was, finished around where Shar was then it's an easy ten But the thing is there was more pace in the car and he wasn't able to extract it in the first half of the weekend. The turnaround is phenomenal But I'm also considering the fact that Chalaccler Had it not been for Antonlli's reliability issue, was not going to win the British C. He was going to lose the lead with a few laps to go and I was going to drown my sorrows Instead He did win the race. He still did a phenomenal job, but it's not a ten, a sadly as much as I'd love to. And if it was just a Sunday, it'd be an easy ten But I think a nine out of ten is fair and that's coming from me. So there you go. The fans. gave him a nine. Home Sems, the home of No compomromise. Part of the Home Goods family Wh is a catchar S sprint qualified eighth, finished the sprint in ninth, started the main race in fifth Finished. Fifth Difficult one. I'm gonna go for a seven out of ten There were moments of Brilliance for Hajar, qualifying. he looks really strong. In the races, it didn't go as well. There were times. I think he was on the back of Verstappen and we were we were seeing the two reed Bulls have a little ding donong, which is always great to see, but then he also fell away massively. in the main race after that initial of the Grand Prix and that's kind of the I think he said after the race that there was something that He changed afterwards or during the race, which got him back a lot of time. I think it was maybe a setup or a front wing adjust, but Still there was a lot of time lost to Max when I look at what the gaps were with five laps to go just before the safety car comes out.'s he's a good five ish seconds behind Max in a car that Max is said he doesn't want to even start in of how bad he felt the power unit and the balance of the car was. So I think a seven is fair because there were glimpses of really good performance in there, but also I think a lack of pace. so it's brought him down Gone for a six out of ten for Isaac Kadjar he dropped down in the sprint, of course with this start and didn't even score the point And it wasn't his fault, but he still raced back through, of course, the pack, but didn't manage to a point there and then in the main race, like you say, he was despite his brilliant qualifying. Oh was a long way off off Max erstappen despite starting ahead of him. and it's a shame for Hadja that he didn't we didn't see the pace that we saw in qualifying from him In qualifying, I was thinking, wow, he's definitely going to be, I mean, technically he did be Max Verstappen because of what happened to Max, but on the road Yeah, we thought yeah, surely he's going to beat Max because he looked like he had the measure of him in qualifying and looked really, really strong here. in those qualifying sessions, but It didn't really translate and of course, know finishing the tail end of the top cars that didn't have issues The fans gave Hajar a seven out of ten Max Verstappen. Sprint qualified third, finish the sprint in sixth Start at the main rist in seventh didid not finish but was classified twentieth H hardest grade. The hardest grade hardest grade of the hardest grade and I'm glad you're saying that and it's not just me because I can I almost four different numbers to. Yeah and I almost like probably find this with Charla Clair, I almost question my own like yeah even more than anyone else But I am going to give him eight out of ten I'm going to give Maxu an eight out of ten because he was going to finish third before his rear wing issue, which I know the keyboard. I know I know, but he was going to finish third the reing issue that Matt definitely doesn't believe, I can tell but that's not the case. I think it's When we spoke about it in the Main Race podcast, it's more just the frustration of like can't see what's going on And they're saying that this isn't closing and we can see that it is closing to a degree, but clearly not enough I do firmly believe that there is something going wrong with the car for sure. You know the team, I don't think would come out with this if that wasn't the case. They're not going to try and save Max Verstappen's blushes because Max doesn't just crash the car like that. But this is where it's so, so tough because he was having a phenomenal race in a car that didn't deserve to be there he's racing in Mercedes up there you know, with with Russell, he was fighting Hamilton as well And yeah, he was going this is why I've gone for an aid because he wass going to finish third on the road and yeah is how you take the kind of incident. I know Max always gets a really terrible fan grade and everyone just goes, o well he's He's finished twentieth so he's washed but like he was going to finish third on the road and that's why I've gone for an eighth Oh God, where do I This one Mm I am going to give Max Verstappen it was I was there for a seven because it's somewhere in the middle of where I could give him different grades. So let's go for a seven out of ten for Max Verstappen Um Can I challenge that Yeah the max the seven pbook because you'd be doing the same shell. What u when you were like, oh Hija There's like twenty seconds behind him or whatever. and then they get the same grade like That's my thinking Yeah, I know. and I don't know one's makes to happen and one's a fairly new driver, but That's fine. and you're okay to question that. The only thing is that I've not seen Yes, Max has crashed and the team have said that it was due to a downforce loss but I'm just sat here like, Oh, it's just it's so tough. I just don't I want to understand what is going on with his car and I don't because they haven't really fully gone into the detail of it So I could easily give him a nine. I genuinely could. That's why I said I could give him four different grades. I I'll just go in the middle because he has crashed out the grand Prix and I don't know. I genuinely am stumped. I am fully stumped. I don't know what I'm doing here. and I'm sure everybody has got their own opinions of it. And this is the thing like I don't think it's a slam dunk. It depends where you sit on this. L Analysts have literally said, I don't see anything wrong with his car when he goes into the corner So that's why I've gone down from an eight to a nine because he's out of the grand Prix and he's in the gravel, and could he have saved it? I don't know Like Max Verstappen is not perfect. No, I know. but we treat him that way because he is a phenomenal driver and the best on the grid So Ah my god I' h you see it I'm going to stick with the seven because it's somewhere in between him crashing and it being his fault and and him having a great performance in his car failing. So that's where I want to sit. but I do want to say with that that he was having a phenomenal grand Prix Um in a car as I mentioned earlier that he didn't even want to start in. He said the power unit was bad. He said the balance was terrible. and He was able to be fighting, as you say, the Musades. he was fighting Hamilton at one point And he was on course for for a third place So I'm going to go with a seven out of ten and leave it there Fans G' gone for six. so Worse than Hjar crazy. Yeah, there you go. That's where some people sit, I guess on whether it was his fault or not Kimmy Antonelli Sprint qualified second, finish the sprint in first, startarted the main race in first. Finish fifteenth I am going to give Kimmy Antonelli ten out of ten. Without the reliability issue, he's winning the race as well and I am not putting any fault on him riding the exit curb the exact same way as he's done every other lap and his cars disintegrated. There's no downgrade here at all for Antonlli. He was phenomenal for the majority of the weekend, he was eleven thousand soft sprint pole And he was so, so, so impressive. I really don't have anything to kind of I guess the only slight downgrade you could consider is his track limits when his car was broken But I'm almost taking that out of the equation because O am I? I'm so indecisive in this in this episode Is it worthy of a downgrade because he got a penalty for track limits And what about a start as well Because is this start his fault or is it like the Red Bulls that it's not their fault? And is it like this is and this is why one of twenty twenty six is so stupid. so hard. to grade drivers Um All right, now we're going to a nine, sorry Kimmy. We're going for a nine because I'm being Matt indecisive Gallgher today But that's because I think genuinely this is just so hard to do. This is chaotic experi. It iss not forormula one in twenty twenty five where it's almost like what you see is what you get There's so many underlying things of team saying this, drivers saying this, etcetera, et cetera. But yeah, I guess he drove erratically when his car was broken and went off the track a lot, stayed out there where we were concerned a little bit about whether his car was even safe to continue to do so. I think it was the right decision to carry on if he felt like he could. But he did pick up a penalty So yeah, I think maybe that is worthy of a downgrade. So nine out of ten. I have also gone for a nine out of ten for Kimmy Antonlli I think We look at his his race, he was Very, very quick, you know, probably the quickest driver of the weekend, but it was, you know, there's a few moments in there that mean I can't give them a ten the fact that I do think he had the best car out there and Hamilton piicked him to sprint pole B the tiniest margin, of course, must be said and then, you know, in the in the main race as well is dropped back. with with a start behind the Ferraris Claudes way back. But that being said, it's still an amazing nine out of ten. I think he's incredibly unlucky with how his race has gone because think hadad he won the race what a drive it would have been as well for him to stay out that long and lose barely any time to Charleacclerc when last year I think talking about, you know, is he's struggling with tyre wear and he's a rookie and he's not got a handle on it compared to George Russell He's he's kind of answering everything that was wrong last year It's just the reliability that's letting him down. And Kimy's had another brilliant, brilliant performance A nine sadly for Kimmy, I'm sure he's going to be gutted would you've given him a nine that he won the race Would I have given him a nine had he won the race Yeah It would have been that's what why I'm challing close. Yeah yeah. But he didn't win the race and we never even saw him get into the lead. And And I know we what transpired after is the picking up of the penalty and so on. Yeah ye exxactly. Yeah yeah Yeah. fantastic. look at us hey. we're going It took fourteen minutes to get here, but we're the gre on but we're chatting We've had a few ye Antonell. got a nine from the fans as well George Russell It's not over yet guys. Sprint qualified fifth. F finish the sprint in fourth, start the main race in fourth, finish second Cone. for a six out of ten for George Russell u which may seem harsh, soon as they finished the Grand prix in second place. his friendint has to be said was was really, really poor Um, you know, he's he's his teammateers gone off into to the distance and won the race And meanwhile, Russell hasn't even made it onto the Sprint podium. He's finished behind a McLaren, which My word, McLaren,'re not we're not strong this weekend And you look at the fact that we then had They. Men is qualifying where he went off U and manage to just escape and get back on, but then when He got into the final session. he was a long way off Kimmy again to only qualify fourth behind the Ferraris And yes, his puncture was unlucky, but he did not have pace of his teammate anywhere near it. He was scratching his head. He didn't know what was going on and I think You know it's bad. when the driver themselves You know, he's just finished second at the British Grandrix. It's his first British Grand Prix podium in his home race his reaction was Oh, well, I actually felt better after Canada when I DNF because at least I was fast. I think that really does summarize just Geor Russell's pace this weekend and it is just not gone well for him here. He's had races Austria much more comfortable, but it's kind of flipped the other way again and we've kind of seen you know, one of the horror performances from George this weekend and just really really struggling Yeah, it's an interesting one. I'm deliberating between two grades, unsurprisingly. I am going to go for Hey Six out of ten as well. for George. I had initially put down a seven, but Look, again, there's there's external things to mention. He was had been saying throughout the entire weekend up until the race where Toto snuffed that. But before that, he was saying he had a straight line deficit basically came into the into the race session and said, look without U it being fixed, I'm not going to be able to challenge. Toto then came over the radio and said that his engine was fine u for the Sunday race And so therefore, there's no excuse. The second position does flatter him. massively because he was well off Antonlli speed Antonlli showed that there was an incredible stint on the mediums up for grabs if you're able to drive to a, you know, to a certain pace and to keep them in the good window in order to win the Grand Prion, and George was absolutely nowhere near that both the Srint and race weeekend segments. So I think it is a six out of ten because he's in the best car on the grid. and he was fighting down in Hamilton. Well, Antony was just looking It was off wasn't he really like Base he was rapid. Yes, exactly.. Of course, you know, we take into account the puncture and that was unlucky, but at the same time he got lucky in the sense of then getting back up to second place with with retirements and jumping Ferrari that decided to stop. That was the correct decision from George and Mercedes to stay out Try your luck, see if you can get another position. They got it. But from a driving perspective, yeah, I think six out of ten and completely echo what you said as well, Tommy, that if the driver has come out the car and said, I'm not going to win the worldor Championship if I drive this way How can we give him any higher than a six to be honest with you? He didn't quite say that Matam Tommy, if you know, I do watch your videos and if you if you're ing six out of ten but you know He still basasically ye his his performance when he's questioning it himself even after such a what should be such a high, isn't it really of finishing on the podium at the British Grand Prix, which he did celebrate and still enjoyed, but He's got to find some answers going into the next race Indeed, the fans gave George a seven out of ten Oscar Piastri Srint quantified seventh finished the main sprint the main sprint, the normal sprint. I'm getting tired in seventh, started the main race in eighth and finished in eleventh I am going to go for a six out of ten for Oscar Piastry because he was incredibly unlucky in the main race to have his front wing damaged because of the V carbs His pace was pretty good this weekend. I think it'd be harsh to give him a five. I know he finished eleventh out of the points, but realalistically, that was his race run after the the clash quite on Llando'. But then when you look at the qualifying gaps you know, you could easily be three or four positions behind your teammate with a tenth difference So for Oscar, I'm going to give a six. It's kind of like a sympathy six in the fact that he was written off before the race had even started almost managed to snag a point after having to trundle round to the pits but wasn't able to gone for a six out of ten as well for Oscar Piastri wasn't to blame for the front wing, which was very mysterious until we kind of saw other images and you can kind of see it in the background a little bit. and there was also a fan video circulating of the incident between the racing bulls because on the coverage, they just kind of cut to him with a broken front wing and it's like, oh, what's actually happened here. But but not his fault, a racing incident where he just got yeah completely sandwiched between the two racing balls And he made a A good start, you know, he passed Lando at the start. and and was looking like you know maybe could have done something, but judging more the fact that on what we saw in the sprint. And I don't think he was miles away from from Lando but
