Crazy Predictions and Patreon Picks

Hello everybody and welcome to the Beau podcast with Matt and Tommy . Are back to back race weeks . We are truly living the dream, aren't we, Tom Bellingham? We're so back , back again , no walls to be seen that are close to the racetrack like we've just had in Monaco. So fingers crossed a f ast ferocious Catalunia will provide us with some action . I mean, the tracks this year have provided action kind of most races, it has to be said, some controversially, some obviously amazing racing as well. And some day. Yeah . And if we see a good race here, my word , F one's cooking. Now before we get into the world of predictions, let's talk about some news in F one . We've recorded a separate podcast all about the F one Engine catch up program or the ADU as it's called . It's a bit of a farce. So go and check out that episode because we proper pop off about it. So yeah, go and have a listen to that obviously after predictions. Other things to mention, Alping have an FIA hearing for their penalty to basically protest what happened in Monaco. Will it be overturned? I think absolutely not . Personally, I think it's, you know, I'll been obviously kicking off about the fact they've lost a podium . And quite rightly in the sense of it did seem pretty silly I just don't see in raised penalties being overturned, especially when other teams have also suffered from this and it's only Alping that are , you know, having having this hearing . Because at the end of the day it wasn't a software glitch, it was the fact that it wasn't measured properly . Yeah, yes. Could do, right? Like if they really wanted to, I'm sure the FAO turn around and be like, well, that's your judgment from last year. It's changed. Yeah, exactly. And that will be the argument that they give and probably the fact that well, it didn't happen to everyone . And it is incredibly unfortunate. We spoke about it in drive ratings that it's not Gazley's fault. There's videos circulating that it's quite clear that he pressed the pit lane speed limit butt on and was plenty slowed down before going into the line and equally plenty slowed down before he then gets off the pit limiter to get out there as well . But as we said before, it's all done on distance and things like that. So I can't see it being overturned. They have overturned results in the past before . There was some confusion over B arazil ian Grand Prix back in two thousand three where they gave Kimi Raichen the win accidentally, then gave it to Physicella later at the next race . However, I think the issue lies here . One from what you said previously, but also two that there were many drivers that did serve their penalty in that race and , you know, I'm sure not that not that they 'll have a leg to stand on, but someone like George Russell could argue well, you know , I had to serve my five second penalty, then got a drive through and all this stuff. And I'd have loved to stay out and just paint like hope it didn't happen for later. So yeah, I can't see it being overturned unfortunately for Gazley because as much as I want my dad to get the full point for his amazing prediction. Yeah I don't think it's happening so take the half point Dean and be happy with it. All right, that's what I'll say. Enjoy the money. Exactly. Other thing to mention is that Frederick Vesti will be replacing championship leader Kimmantonelli. For FP one, for FP one, I probably should have started for FP one because I thought a lot of you are like, what? Where's Kimmy going? Is he won the championship? Yeah, we put that third in the news. Yeah, Kim Antonelli is just so far ahead. He's just having a day off. Let's have a weekend off. I mean, that's why not he could get to the World Cup or something and he's just chilling. Yeah, when he's one hundred and fifty points clear, I think we'll all be calling for him to have a weekend off . So yeah, that's something to keep an eye on as well. See how Vesti does . O coursef, if you're unfamiliar, there are times throughout the season where main drivers will be replaced by younger drivers to be able to give them an opportunity in a proper formula one weekend . And quite early as well. So interesting that maybe maybe there's thinking behind it because we say that every time but these are all locked in many moons beforehand. True. Yeah, yeah, that was a good point actually. Probably probably have been with driver contracts and things like that. However , even if it's not, it's probably quite good for Kimi Antonelli that he might have won it well by then if he continues his amazing form, but he's not going into like an Abu Dhabi like Oscar Patri or something and has to give up his car when he's going for the world championship. So yeah, it's good to get it out of the way while he's clear. Right it's predictions time twenty two eighteen Tommy . Four point the gap still not a lot of points scored in Monaco. Must have been the Apperolls. Although we did on Wednesday is what I want to talk about. But yes, it wasn't very accurate . We were just rubbish. Yeah, we would just rubbish. I tried to blame the approls, but we literally did it before we left in Monaco. It's my time to go first . So a good surprise . I am locking in Niko Holkenberg . Oh okay. Yeah it's time for Nico to score some points . The basket is well and truly open for business and I'm going to put all the eggs of in Holberkeng's one. So Holkenberg last year had an absolutely sensational drive , ended up P five actually. Who got who got a penalty to me and got dropped down and lost the world champ. Oh, it was matched down . Sorry, I'm lashing out the monarch. But Holkenberg now is going to be Charles Warrior . But Holkenberg he's got to score some points at some point and it's gonna be around the Barcelona Catalonia circuit this weekend . It can't be eleventh every race Okay, that's really interesting because for two reasons . One, I was convinced you're going to go for George Russell. No, I genuinely wrote it down and I can't you still has to kind of win as well because you know, he's driving the best car on the grid even a PD. Actually Tommy , the red bull has the best sorry it is easily for the red bull . Okay, so another reason it's funny is because my good surprise is Gabrielle Botoleto . I think Audi are going to be strong here . Back in the days where they had their wonderful name that really rolled off the tongue kick Sauber Alfare Mayo No. I love how you found it. I've forgotten it. I kind of it was really long, wasn't it? Was it even called? I can't remember. Kicksaw Bref. No, it was longer than that. Yeah, it was Stick F one team, Stake F one , that was it. Yeah, brilliant. And yeah, they were very strong around here and look quite good. And obviously , Audi have been the nearly team . They love a little P eleven . Gary got one last time out in Monaco or DNF , I will admit I nearly went for Audi but this is very risky one of you not just too risky because it does seem it's one or the other and we will find out if it is one or the other because we've gone for both drivers . Another one I had which was very tempting was Avid Limblad because a lot of people have mentioned that he won F three and F two feature race. It'd be a lot harder for him to win this weekend but we've seen crazy things . We have, I mean, what are they to say one F three and F two? Yeah, those very similar cars to the current formal one they are more like formal two cars why Kim to nosing so well as I predicted Oh shut up Okay Big flop Tommy Big Flop I've gone for Has I think something's bubbling up at house I think. I think the civil war is starting. Oh Ocon and Beherman were kind of shouting at each other in practice . We also saw, you know, a little bit of contact at the Herpin . I do think that their former's fallen off as well and also the fact that maybe it's not fully like harmony in that team. So I've gone for half hoping for double points there . Not for them but for you for me exactly. Beman's dropping a little P ten just to stop all of that nonsense. Interesting that you've gone for a team because I've also gone for a team . Ferrari . Oh, okay. Yeah, look we've we're going to a track that I just don't think is going to suit Ferrari at all. I think that Mercedes, I think Max Verstappen maybe maybe even Hadgo and I think McLaren are all going to be quicker than I really do. So from a Hamilton P two in Monaco and a Charleclerc, what could have been I just think we're going to be very poor around here. So that's my thinking. I mean there's really no slow speed corners to note apart from maybe one or two around here. No more Chicane of course. No more Chicane bring that back always made for great racing . So I've gone for Ferrari because yeah, look, I mean maybe I'm still depressed after Charlotte Clare and he'll be trying new breaks so we're so cooked. Like I don't even know how that's going to how that's going to unfold, but probably not great poll position my pole position for the Circuit Barcelona sorry Barcelona Catalonia Grand Prix I've already forgotten is Kimi Antonelli I mean, look, this is twenty twenty three Max Verstappen all over again. Do I need to go into reasons why? I think this track as much as it was a bit of a stinker for him last year, I think he ended the race with reliability issues . Also another thing that I saw pop up that I thought I'd mention to you Tommy that of course Antonelli had played his role, didn't he? I say this in with slight tongue and cheek. I know exactly what you're going to say. Yeah. Well, I'm going to tell everybody what you're going to say is the fact that Anton i was the one that actually caused the safety car which caused the Max Verstappen meltdown into the side of George Russell. So Antonelli played a lot of factors of course you know completely not his fault but he was a big old factor for Max Verstappen last year and things keep cropping up about it. I know. Yeah, I did get reminded of that. You also saw , yeah, this was the kind of start of Antonelli's really poor run, wasn't it? However , poor position I had gone for Kimi Antonelli, I don't buy either that he's now going to start being rubbish just because Titanium Ducks. Is this the first time that ? No, it was it was in Monaco anyway. So it was fine European season slop. At the end of the day, he's having a amazing time . He's so confident in that car and this is a track where you've just got to be confident in the car and actually it's a very car heavy circuit in terms of just the fact that it's like high speed corners we normally see circuit sorry what car it's more about car than driving is what I'm saying when a don't you normally see the best car win all the time that is what I'm saying around Barcelona. is It a trek. Wendell one, right? No, but I think it's even more extreme. Like, look at like when McLaren were doing so well last year they put it on poll like by miles and we've seen that kind of in years gone by that you kind of your advantage is even more strength than a track like this. So I think Mercedes are going to be rapid. So no surprise that I will now change it to George Russell. He of course still has a chance . His Monaco struggles in the race of course were all because of his qualifying . But let's not forget last time out in before that in Canada he got two pole positions. So he can turn it around and there's an opportunity for him there. There will be a moment he turns it around. It's just when, but I don't want to go for it. I don't want to give you a Kiman Senator Paul position. It's just not how are we here where this is now like almost a done deal where we wouldn't be able to go for Mercedes drivers soon or at least Kimmy Antonelli. Let's go for our top three then starting with third position . P three, I'm going to go for Lando Norris. Hopefully his car works and Matt's now changing his prediction . I think if his car doesn't lose the battery, get duct taped up , a wheel fall off, his rear wing fall off, what else can happen to him? Everything . Lando will be strong here. The McLaren looks good did in Canada before they decided to put intermediates on a dry track . And yeah, I think McLaren will be very good around . So I'm going to go for P three Lando Norris. Okay, good. Well, that might is my prediction out the window because I did go for P three Lando Norris, as you can tell by my facial expressions if you're watching on YouTube. I'm going to change that now to Max Verstappen . I think that is I'm very confident with that as a backup option that this could definitely happen . Rebel have had their moments in the more recent races and this is Max Verstappen, yes, he had an absolute disaster last year, but that was not due to pace, that was due to other external factors that we won't go into . Even though I've touched on it, Imagine six thousand Okay, sorry. Sorry, it's one of the only things where I can actually get to you with whereas you just pummel me every week. That's crazy. Wow, that's and I enjoy it. So Max Verstappen P three what I'm going for . All right. So I'm going to lock that out. It's gonna make a really bad joke though. I mean, I already did say it. That was odd. What happens on the supiot says on the supiot? Well, it clearly does not. You just said it. You bet it's going in. It'll see it Oh I do actually want that to go in. So it's fun. It can go in. I don't care it's our channel It's the most unhinged. I love it. I think that will throw so many people out. I want it on it . Right, let's lock back in and go to second position where I am going to lock in Oh no, here come the tactics M what can I do here? This is the thing like Yeah, I'm going to go for second place George Russell . I do genuinely believe that the advantage of Mercedes will be large . So I'm gonna have no , no , incorrect . I retract that second place I'm going to kimi Antonelli I am. I am. I'm going to do this because I know for a fact that Tommy is going for Kimmy Anne P one and therefore I feel more confident that this could happen where George Russell bounces back and wins less likely , I think Antonelli will get six on the bounce . But yeah, let's go for a Kimmy Antony P two . Okay, I think you've fumbled the back here. I'm going to go for P two, George Russell . And now I get to choose P one. I know I knew that if I went for George Russell P two, you're going for Kim Anthony P one . No, I go for Kimi Antonio P one anyway. But yes, that's what I mean. So if I went for George Russell P two, I couldn't put him in Mercedes one. I want an Antonelli in second. If I didn't go for that, I have I don't have Antonelli in my top three. Okay . See, big brain thinking. This is why I'm coming back four points behind. Okay, we'll see. We'll see. So P one I'm going to go for P two. Did you say you're P two ? I said Peter. So didn't we talk about it though, we just kind of said George Sorry. Peep too, George . I do think he will bounce back . I think he's got an opportunity to win as well . I was tempted to go for him, but I just think Antonelli is just driving so well so confident. I think that confidence will continue on this track . Please do watch the race and the watch longs, but I think this could be a track where they are absolutely miles ahead as I say about, you know, the fact that it really does suit when, you know, when your car is good , you're you're very dominant around here. So yeah, I'm going to go for George Russell P two . Okay, Tommy , P one . P one . It's Mr Kimmy Antonelli , who has been P one a lot this year, almost all of them. And I think he will continue that win streak. I can't believe we're saying that I think it's going to happen. Who knows how many he could end up winning this year . You know, Mercedes are going to completely dominate. I think it will be close with Russell. I think I hope we get a very exciting race between the two of them. And yeah, but I am back in Kimi Antonelli because why wouldn't use on amazing form ? Is of course a track they didn't do well at last year but I don't I don't buy it's completely different regulations. Kimmy is just a completely different driver now and he's driving superbly so I'm back in him to win again Okay so I'm obviously not going over Kim Anthony because I'm not allowed to due to the P one predictions regulations. So I'm going to go for George Russell . Now I feel as Tommy didn't quite understand my theory and craft here is that I feel much more comfortable knowing that I have a Mercedes one two in my life. I'm not going to locked it than having to go for a Charlotte P one right now which I don't think is going to happen. So George Russell first place this is a track that as much as I am leaning towards Kimmy as well , I think George can express himself. He can make mistakes around Spain and get away with it maybe in a few places. There is runoff to save you, although there is also gravel , maybe forget that. But there are it's a much better place to maybe test some things with his driving style that apparently has to change. Monica, you can't be doing that. You're in the wall. So let's go for Ge aorge Russell bounce back, why not? Okay, we now go to P where let's see if we get a random number that is either more than four or five because we've not had it for a while. Of course if you're unaware this is, where Tommy is now lo ading a random number generator that he forgot to do before the podcast started between four and twenty two and we have to guess on the spot who it's going to be. Okay I reg,ret I'm immediately has gonna be great, but hey ho, that's especially because I've flopped them. Yeah. That's why I said it. I was like, Ah, you know, maybe maybe Tommy's right. To be fair, first team that came to mind was Has could be some DNFs in retirement. Could be things. Could be things. All right, we will see. Let's now go to our one crazy prediction . Tommy, over to you. Speaking of Ocon and Perez, my one crazy prediction is there's a team mate collision . So could be thinking Mercedes? Well I'm kind of covering two bases here. Where does that collision begin an end with a yeat. Okay. Significant yeat. Well , yeah, there's some controversy. Yeah, I'm not counting like a wheel bang on. Okay, so we're going damage. Any kind of visible ? Yeah , yeah, yeah. All right So yeah , teammate collision, of course, I think the Mercedes , we could see them fighting again, particularly with how the old boost mode works. I hope we do because that'll be absolute cinema if we can have another Canada and you know I think this is a trade interest could produce that sort of absolutely could because we've seen that it's so hard to get away from the lead and if whoever's in P two whether it's Antonelli or Russell or anyone else if they're within a second, they're going to have a lovely long old straight to have a go and yeah I'm really looking forward to this one a lot. Me too. I can't believe we're saying that about Barcelona. I know I'm crazy. The last one. My one crazy prediction , Lando Norris has no reliability issues throughout the weekend . Okay . So I recorded a video from Katie because unfortunately she's had to go pick Grace up from nursery because she's not very well. I think that's called Grace Voyage . Melanvoy, no . Wow. Okay Okay. Really glad that there's only one position that is different position and we're going to have to bring in some . We might have a Mercedes rule if they dominate very clearly this weekend . Monaco was a bit different, but yeah, I think if they are really clear and want to, they might be in the same place. So I'm so conflicted right now. Why actually know I'm not because if you weren't really Max or Lando 's Maxwell Peter with your top two. So that is that's going to be devastating for our championship, the drivers championship if you you score three points on that top three. But could well happen..
