On Wednesday, we've got our final seven-round mocks and turkeys to the Draft kingdom. Boy , what a week it's gonna be. But before we get to all of that, let's start with the Eagles news from this morning. All of the insiders, their scheduled Monday morning tweets about AJ Brown and the likelihood that he may end up in New England after June first. EJ, what do you make of it? Yeah, I don't know if there's anything new to really make anything of. I I I can appreciate that like some people need to keep hearing it. You know, the waves washing over the stone, where every time that this comes out, it makes it a little bit more real for the people who didn't want this to be the outcome. But it does seem increasingly and increasingly and increasingly more likely that AJ Brown will be traded to the New England Patri ots after June 1st. Uh, when we were at owners' meetings, it definitely seemed to be the sentiment across the league, is that this was the expectation. Um, so yeah, when I saw the story, I read through it, like there isn't a lot new there, but what I would say is that um like the the report that this might be a 2028 first round pick that the Eagles might be getting back for AJ that to me was noteworthy. But other than that, again, I think the Eagles have already been planning for life after AJ Brown, and the expectation for a while has been that this trade will happen after June 1. BLG U uh I believe famously gave it a zero percent chance that AJ Brown was going to be back this season. Do you feel like you can you can already strut and pat yourself on the back that on that one? Uh not from the standpoint that I wanted to be right about that. Okay. But I just felt like based on everything I'd heard, you know, we had reporting on Bleeding Green Nation from Joe Santilaquido, um shortly after the season ended that A J requested a trade multiple times last year as early as after week three when the Eagles were three and oh and coming off of a Super Bowl win. Yeah. And we all saw it. That was that was the part to me, um, regardless of any reporting, like we we lived through last year and we saw how uninvested he was and and emotionally checked out. And I don't think the Eagles really kinda want to go through that le again this year. I don't think AJ wants to go through that. I think it's very unfortunate we've come to this point, but that was always the reality staring us in the face. You know the one thing really quick, sorry, the one thing that when I was driving in, I I kept going back to is I just wish we could hear from AJ. Sure. You know, it's been a long time since we've heard from AJ. And I I think that some of that is by design. You know, you think about how the Dexter Lawrence thing unfolded. Like these things can spill into the public eye more than the AJ Brown and Eagles situation has. But I do like, you know, this offseason, when he has events, I will be there. You know, because I want to hear uh I want to hear from him. I want to hear where his head is at because I think a lot of Eagles fans are attributing things to him that may or may not be true. And I do think there has been sort of a a gag order on him if you believe that they are working in tandem to get this deal done so as not to tank the trade value, all of that stuff. I think I think part of the deal for them acquiescing to the request is you have to now do your part to help us maintain as much leverage as we need. Yeah, I think that's completely that's that's that's what I was alluding to is like, yeah, if he he could be making this public, but I think he realizes that that doesn't help his actual goal of getting to New England. What do you guys make of the the language in the reporting of like, well, you know, these two sides haven't talked in a very long time, but the expectation is that they will pick up talks on June first. In terms of the Eagles and Patriots. Yeah. I mean I think that's kind of like uh oh, we totally don't have a deal worked out already where it seems a lot of people around the league seem to have a sense that that could So in a league where Dexter Lawrence goes for the number 10 overall pick. Yeah. Which we can discuss and and should in a few minutes. At this point, what do you think would constitute a good return for AJ Brown? You wanna go? Yeah, so to me the the Dexter Lawrence trade isn't a great like benchmark because this year's draft I think is informative on why they got the number ten overall pick for Dexter Lawrence. Um I think a future first plus is what the Eagles will want to get. And I think it's probably what they should expect to get, whether it's twenty seven. A twenty eight first to me feels like you you want more than that. Um but again the Eagles value those picks more highly. So I think it's gotta be a one. I mean the Jalen Waddle trade laid out the the the compensation or the you know a a comparable situation. Um I I I think it's probably fair. I I was skeptical at the time of the Jalen Waddle trade that AJ would be worth less than the Jalen Waddle was on the trade market, but I've kind of come around on that a little bit, I would say. So I'd say the waddle trade is what you're hoping to get. What about you? I think it has to be a one involved. You've talked about this where you've said in part just because of like how your Roseman's um image, right? Or just like you know, his his reputation., yeah Not like he's not gonna just get taken advantage of. And I think it's kind of been a tough situation for him where, you know, AJ has clearly won it out, so he's trying to thread the needle of like, you know, maintaining leverage and trying to get the right value for him and not to shipping him off or nothing, but knowing that it's not necessarily realistic, you can just bring him back. Um so it's it's been a tough spot for him. But um I do think a first has to be in there. And like you said, EJ, I agree. I think that's the future pick thing has been a big part of this to me. Yeah. Where like look this year, I mean, you're getting that 2026 third round pick, which I think is like 68 overall first on Reddit, which was two years ago. And I and I think that's a big part of it. I think that it is okay for Howard to get less now or in June than his original asking price because you can there there are different prices for taking on the full cost of trading in before June 1st as opposed to trading him after and getting to spread out the dead cap. That's that's understandable. And I would imagine that he has different asking prices for those two things. I do think I think I think he's going to want a one plus. Yeah. And so I don't know if that is maybe it's a twenty a twenty-eight first and a twenty-seven third. Yeah. Something like that. Is that enough? I feel like if I were the Eagles. Yeah. I think I I think I think he's gonna want the twenty-seven first. I think I agree. I I think you could probably I'd feel good about a twenty-seven first if I were Howie. I'd feel as good about a twenty-eight first and then a day two pick on in in twenty seven. And listen, I uh part of the reason that I think there probably is some under standing generally of what the deal is going to be is because I think it's going to help inform how he wants it to be able to know what he can deal from this weekend. Yeah. Right. Like if he if he's expecting this to be a 27 first or a 28 first, that changes which picks you might be willing to trade this weekend to move up. Yeah, that's an excellent point. And yeah, I I don't think like the Dexter Lawrence thing, like if you told me like the Eagles were gonna trade like you know, AJ for like the 14th pick in the draft this year, I probably wouldn't feel great about that. You know, based off where who's gonna be there at 14. Okay. What did you make of the the Dexter Lawrence trade from uh an Eagles perspective? How it changes the Giants? Uh annoyed from the like what are the Bengals doing? Like I don't I I I don't think uh I mean just all the talk even leading up to um that trade from the Giants beat reporter core was kind of like yeah I don't know what his value's really gonna be. And even the reporting after was like people were shocked that they were able to get that much. So annoying, I think, from that perspective. Um, but I do think that probably speaks to how picks are maybe valued. Yeah, I think that's a real reflection on the draft itself. Um from the Bengals when I first saw it, I'm like, that is that is way too much to pay for a player who was gonna be twenty eight, twenty-nine, um, and a team that is generally considered to be super cheap, like to to give up the cost certainty of a of a locked in number 10 overall pick for a guy who's gonna require an extension. But then they didn't pay him too much extra and it was only one year extension. And he is an awesome player. Sure. Um sure and really a unique player. He's the only guy who can play the nose and get after the quarterback the way that he does. I do think it also makes the Giants worse. And I I if I'm an Eagles fan, I am not really particularly concerned about, you know, what are they Jeremiah love, Caleb Downs? That's going to change the the I was gonna I'm not I was gonna say one of the ripple effects is that does it let does it allow the Giants to prioritize getting Jeremiah Love more than they would have when they didn't have another premium pick to fall back on and say like, o,kay, we can get you know a player at a premium position at 10, we can try and get Jeremiah Love, who was a true difference maker at the top of the draft. Might be a ripple effect. They might have done it anyway. And I again I don't know if if you're an Eagles fan, are you are you like are you worried about them drafting Jeremiah Love? You know, like I it's a bad use of resources at the end of the day. I think it'd be annoying in the short term. But I think if you look back at like probably not the best long term decision for that. Right. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it's not really unlike when they drafted Saquon. Right, right. Yeah, which is like it's annoying because he's going to like, you know, do really exceptional things against your team every once in a while, but they will probably lose more games than that. So yeah. And I do like the idea of Joe Shane having let Saquon and Xavier McKinney go just sitting in the draft room with no power as they draft a running back and a safety . That would be funny. I mean Talk about getting embarrassed in front of everybody else. It's very funny. A super chat that allows us to reset here. Steve Clef commenting . Had to say it's great to have BLG here. Miss Yarour Regul Pod , which was tied Wow for Best Eagles Pod. Okay. I mean Tied with what? I would I would hope that he's talked about our Steve has been banned. See you later, Steve. But uh BLG, the purveyor of Bleeding Green Nation, uh, long time covering the team, as a fan as well. Great. to have you here You've been here before. Glad to be here. I have a confession. Yeah. Whoa. Um I was I had that chair when I came in and I was like, this is a low chair. Oh, is it the sinker? Okay, trying to raise it up? No. I now I keep thinking too. I've I look incredibly short. Right, bottom right. Take the weight off. No, no, no. I think I think really more here. I'm very technically challenged. This is our great life. It's really more underneath underneath the seat itself. Wow. Okay. I knew that he'd be fine in this chair 'cause he's so tall. Like you know if the invert to see the It kinda looks comical to me now that I think this was bad hosting on my part. Not podcast hosting, but like just being a host in this space. Okay. And now it does release. Yeah it's there you go. Now now this is honestly more true to true to size, right? Yeah. Dinkelberg also has a chat. I can't wait to watch this team's awful vi bes trot out onto the field in a potential disaster season while drinking the copium of twenty twenty-eight draft capital from an AJ Brown trade. With that said, go birds, it appreciates that. There is a world in which this Eagles season very early on starts to feel like the current Sixer season. Oh where it's like oh man oh man or the Phillies where it's like okay we had some bad vibes the offseason came we made some tweaks we're back and the bad vibes are still here I I didn't think this is where we were going. I mean possibility. It's the week of the draft. It's supposed to be energy. Inject some new youth and talent into the team. Yeah, maybe that'll fix it. Well, uh to kind of bridge those two points, I think the Eagles might be this is where my kind of general like state of the Eagles in my mind, where they're at, is where I have a a lot of optimism about them in the long term, just because of the sustained success we've seen and the confidence I have in Jeffrey Lurry and Howie Roseman to if things go wrong in the short term, ultimately write that ship. Yeah. But about that short term, yeah, I'm uh feeling a little uneasy about that coming off of last year. But that's why the draft to your point again, like represents hope for not just the season, but also multiple years down the line. And the players themselves, that's the best part of the draft is seeing all these all these young guys. Yeah. Their life their all of their lives are going to change. Fantastic. Yeah, absolutely. Oh yeah. Give me all give me all the phone calls and uh the the tiers with the family. Yeah, that's good stuff. The Eagles put out a bunch of like the calls from the players on the team and it is like it's special to watch those back, like knowing the people now. Um so yeah, no, I I it's it's a fun weekend. And you know, I hope that they I hope our our viewers spend it with us because we gotta we have some great coverage. EJ super chat. Go Rock Henson, what is your take on the rumors of Jalen Hurts practicing at Temple with Scott L I don't know. It's definitely true. There were pictures of it. He's put it out. Um I'm glad that you asked about this though, Joe Rockhead, because I do find this very fascinating. As someone who spends more time than I'd like to admit trying to figure out like what Jalen Hurts what's in Jalen Hurts's head. Yeah. Like this was I mean I was an interesting one. I spent a lot of time speculating about this this weekend. And where did you come to in some texts and some group chats, like, oh, what could it mean? What could it mean? I I mean, listen, everything with Jalen is intentional. Everything with Jalen has uh, you know, an underlying purpose or an underlying meaning. I think that this could have been a you know response to the uncoachable claims that came I don't do the source guessing game because I think that that can you know go down some some some rabbit holes that you don't want to go down, but now we know that Scott Leftler probably didn't talk about that story. Well we don't know that. I mean now we know that he didn't talk terribly about Jalen. I guess you say We don't know that. Yeah, but if he if he was really, you know, know that. Okay. I mean, I will concede that. But they clearly have a good enough relationship now where they're working out together in the offseason. I read that as they're close enough for him to do a favor for Scott Leffler as he looks for a new job to have him in his Instagram post. I like that. He's doing him a solid. That's how I read that. You don't think that it had anything to do with the stuff that was in the It could have. Dual meaning, dual purpose? Yeah, I don't know. I mean, obviously he includes that one little shot in the scroll for a reason. Now, I my next question is why is Scott Leftford not the Eagles quarterback's coach ? Well, I uh you mean listen, here's the deal is is Jalen Hurts can't work with the coaching staff on the field right now. Yeah. So it makes sense for a guy who is as hungry as he is to improve to get someone who he knows is an a a capable NFL quarterback's coach to help him run through workouts. Like that makes sense. He's hasn't moved yet, you know . He''ss got got I mean he coaches though. Like he does. That's true. I mean Quincy Avery was in some of the pictures as well. That's true. He's got some long time coaches. I just whatever happened to going to California to work out. Remember when that was a big deal? Yeah, I mean I th I don't I don't care where those guys work out for the record. Um but yeah, I don't know. I'm a little bit like when they hired Parks Fraser as a quarterback's coach, I figured this is somebody that Jalen must have a good relationship with. I don't know if he has a good relationship with Scott Leveler. It does make me wonder a little bit. I I can't recall an example of seeing a player working out with like a position coach Yeah, especially very recently. Like that's I'm not saying it necessarily it may maybe it means nothing, but it's very funny. Definitely unprecedented to me, from what I've seen. Yeah. Weird one. I don't know. I mean good for Scott Leffler. I like your read. Maybe Jalen is like I'm trying to get him some visibility so he can get a job. Yeah, I don't know. That's a that's and that's a very that is like that reflects very positively on Jalen as well, if that is the reading there. Alex Schles inger checking in with the super chat. Is there any new info regarding AJ with the Shefty report? Feels like we're not feels like we are just hearing the same thing recycled, but he is not at voluntary camp. And that is a fair that is really the reason that was that it goes out today. Right. That was from the Mike Garafolo report. That was a Mike Garafolo report though that he didn't . But that is the that is the timing reason for this. Not just that it's a Monday morning of the draft, but that the Eagles uh voluntary portion, phase one begins today. There are a bunch of players at the Novicare complex . AJ Brown is not among them. And now and and that is also important because AJ in the past has been there all the time. Even in the voluntary stuff. More so than like, I mean not to name Ray and Devontae more so than Devante. Yeah, Johnson, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And so there is uh there is a change there. And so that that does help explain. Man, the super chats have been excellent conversation drivers so far. Like we got a whole game to play, but we're just talking to the chat. This is great. Fantastic. Love it. All right. And with that, we will take a break. Uh, and come back with much more on the other side here. Duck Duck Juice begins just after these messages . No doubt about it. I didn't say that. Uh I will say it. I don't know why I had to catch you stray there . That's not a stray. That's a direct. I know. I don't know why that was necessary, but go on. Um And so you know what what arena you are about to head into. That's right. The duck duck juice draft. This will be the ninth annual duck duck juice draft coming up on 10 years. Many people say the most prestigious of all the pre-draft games. Now, slightly different this year. Usually, duck duck juice takes base takes place a little bit earlier in the offseason, not quite so close to the draft. We might not have quite as good of a bead on the positions the Eagles are going to draft. But what we are going to do here is draft the 12 positions that the Eagles could draft over the weekend, and I'll take you through the rules. The positions, as you would expect: quarterback, running back, wide receiver, tight end, tackle, interior offensive line, edge, defensive tackle, linebacker, cornerback, safety, and specialists. Now many people wonder nine years in, you know, how do you innovate? How do you how do you change and make something m even more exciting that people have come to know? Well, very interesting new rule this year, EJ. With your uh your love in mind. Yeah, you're after my own heart here. And that is that specialist now includes not just kickers, not just punters, not just long snappers, but also fullbacks. Oh wow. So if the Eagles draft a fullback and say on draft night that this is a fullback, specialists are gonna get a little boost here. So it has to be like a straight up fullback. It cannot be a tight end that does a lot of dirty work. Well, I'm glad you brought that up because you know, many people also wonder how do you break the tie, how how do you how do you adjudicate someone who might be something of a tweener? Yeah. A cornerback safety tweener. Yeah, I had a question about that too. An edge tackle tweener. A Tyler Steen, if you want. A tackle/slash guard. Well, what we will do is we will use Fran Duffy's draft guide as our main source. So if he's in the tackle guard, he's a tackle. If he's in the interior offensive line, he's an interior offensive lineman. However, if on draft night Howie Rosem an says a specific position that that contradicts that friend Duffy ranking, we will take that as the position. And this is also subject to appeal. If if if we have an initial ruling, but the person shows up to rookie camp and the right away they're playing a different position. If Keldrick Fawk is lining up just as a defensive tack le. We will take that information into account. We will change the grading. But we are we are using Fran 's guide, which of course you can read on all phline.com and become a diehard as our initial source. Okay . That's fair. And finally, need to tell you how it's scored, EJ. A first round pick at your position? Why are you explaining it to me? Because it's your first time. Yeah, but I I know the rules. You can explain it to the audience. This is a shot across my bow. I know. I I you know the rules. I don't know. You texted me this morning thinking this was a different game. Which is why I know the rules now . That's why I'm telling you. Seven points for a first round pick. Six points for a second round pick. Five points for a third round pick. And on and on down the line until one point for a seventh round pick. Obviously, you can get multiple points if your position is taken a few times. Last piece of ruling . The order is set every year by the defending champion. This year's defending champion, inabsena, Fran Duffy. And so Fran Duffy sent me the order that he wants us to select in. This is a snake draft. And it will go. First overall, Bo . Second overall. Hold on. Wait a minute. How do I know this is true? I'll say second overall, BLG. Okay. Third overall, EJ. Did he give a reason? Snake draft for a why? He did not, but I do believe this is uh this is a this you this is one where you don't want to have the first pick, I believe. I was gonna say I kind of think you did me a favor. Even though I was B L G E J, so it's an easy. We go down down on the line. But it's nice. Are we good? We're great. Last thing to say, look at those graphics. Great job, Lindsay. Picking it up on Duck Duck Juice. You know, always, always innovating, always pushing it forward. And let's now get to the first overall pick and let's do it with the right people. Presented by TrueMark Financial as we try to figure out the right position for the Eagles, what is the highest value position? And this is a tough one. There are there are few positions where I am more confident the Eagles are definitely going to draft someone in the first three or four rounds. But this one is I I remain convinced and I have been burned here before that this is still the most likely first round selection . And so I'm going to use the number one overall pick in the ninth annual Duck Duck Juice Draft on Offensive Tackle. Yeah. I think it could be a trade up, as we'll talk about for freeling or Proctor. It could be staying put for Ihanichor or something like that. I think there are other positions you guys will draft where there are also first round possibilities and maybe more definite picks, but I think there are more tackle options for the Eagles. I'm taking tackle, number one overall. How do you guys feel? I think that's the right pick. Um I almost had tackle in a tier of its own on my board. Um, but I think it it's at the top of tier one for me. Could see an earlier a first rounder. I also wouldn't be sh like stunned if they draft multiple tackles. So for that reason, I think it's a good first pick. That was number one on my board. Okay. Tackle. It was also the first overall pick last year in last year's and I and I boned that. Yeah. Um but look, the Eagles have been wanting to do this, I feel like for years. They've been wanting to take an offensive tackle. It it hasn't happened, and I think part of that is just because how the board has worked out. But I think because of that, that especially informs it this year, where I think they're going to be more prone to potentially trading up than they have been in previous years to get that tackle. Do you have a strong opinion on that top I think realistically uh Ihan ator is the guy who I think I like because we can talk about freelancing I just I don't we did the Espionation community mock draft. Okay. And that's just, you know, one simulation. Freeling goes sixth in that to the Browns. And I was like, I know. I was like, what? So um I think the Lions are also, you know, a real threat to take him or like in that range there. So I I look at Ihanitore from a standpoint of like I think that guy will be available to them realistically. And for as much as we can talk about like you know how do you feel about his development trajectory without Jeff Stoutlin here. Yeah. It's like they're not gonna stop trying to develop offensive tackles just because he's gone. Obviously, you don't feel as confident about it maybe working out, but I still think Howie is of the mindset that he's gonna shoot for upside. Okay. Yeah, I really like Ihanachor because I don't know. Some of the guys that they trade up for, I'm just more skeptical about them than I would like to be trading up for them. And that might just be me of ethics. I was talking to Cuz today. He is he isn't he is out on Proctor. He does not like Proctor. I just think he's a guard. I think he's probably a good guard. And if you if rel like you know, let's say let's say that the guy that obviously I have talked a lot about on the show, Kenny on Sadiq is off the board, then sure, like you can trade up and convince me that Vengo Yo ane or Caden Proctor as the pick make a lot of sense. Freeling for me, I'm scared of Freeling. I don't know. He's got some low, low lights. So for me, Ihan a chore at twenty three feels better than trading up to get a guy who might honestly have the same, you know, uh variety of outcomes possible for them. All right, let's close the book on the right people presented by TrueMark. Tackle goes number one overall for the second year in a row. See if it burns me again. BLG, you are on the clock with the second overall pick. It's also the second pick from last year. Well, so really uh exciting. Now is this you just rewatched last year or you did have this knowledge? I did rewatch. I mean, I do have some sicko knowledge in my head about things, but I did have to rewatch this specifically. Unfortunately, you also called it the least prestigious game, by the way. Uh as a lead into there. Didn't tamper down as you were calling it the most prestigious, but I did notice that. Uh a shot across my bow for being invited for the this game. But uh I'm gonna go Edge Rushercause I think there's a scenario where it doesn't work out once again, uh offensive tackle for them, whether that's you know a big run going on before them, and it just again doesn't work out, and I think you end up in a spot where Keldrick Falk has been talked a lot about on this show or one of the other kind of edge rushers in that ilk uh are there. Maybe it's even a little bit of a trade down scenario. Okay. I think that's kind of the position where I mean we know they're looking for help there, right? Yeah, yes. They wanted to sign Jalen Phillips. They couldn't. They got outpriced. Uh there's talk today from the same ESPN article from Adam Schefter talking about AJ Brown's future that Jonathan Gernard is someone they're still kind of keeping tab s on. Again, cuz on the show today believes that that is going to happen. Okay. He thinks post-June first. And I've got to say, if they trade a pick this weekend for the veteran, that does not count as having drafted that position just, for the record. Yeah. So I I think they're looking to add there and they should be because maybe Jale Cunt's awesome, but we don't know if he's you know, you can't just put all your eggs in that bat or turkeys, rather, in that basket. Thank you. Yeah. They also do not have they don't have depth there either. Yep. So even if they trade, let's say, a third or a second for Jonathan Grenard or that's set up for potion first, they're still probably going to draft an edge. Yeah, it's easy to see the masses at least one. I would be surprised if they don't if they do not add an edge. I think it's a safe, a safe bet. Yeah, I do well listen, if Keldrick Falk is there, anywhere near twenty-three, you find a way to get him and you run the card in and you laugh at the rest of the NF L for having questions about him as a as a prospect, honestly. Like he was one of the most fun players we watched. So I think he'd make a lot of sense. I'm with you. I do lean toward a veteran player added to that room, though. So I think you might be looking more at like a day two or a day three guy to rotate it. Um if denied in a sudden is there in the second round, I I'd be all in on that too. All right, AJ, you are on the clock with number three. All right, so I'm gonna get two from I gotta do it. Well just take one and then we'll go to break and then you can think about your other. Well, I'm just saying I'm gonna get at least two. Well, I'm going to get two from my tier one here. I have a clear top five here, so I've got four that maybe one of them comes to me, but yeah. Uh wide receiver is the one I'm gonna start with. Okay. Um, I could see them going wide receiver in round one. Uh probably not moving up significantly to go wide receiver in round one. I don't love the guys at the top of the class, but if your KC Concepcion's are there, uh if you well, y I I guess KC Concepcion's the one that jumps out to me. Omar Cooper's also interesting. Um, but you know, we talked about the scheme fit from KC Concepcion, the toughness that he has. I really like him as a prospect. I could see the Eagles using a first round pick on him, especially at twenty-three. Uh, and then also there's a lot of guys on day two that make a lot of sense. And you know, we've seen the Eagles are already preparing for life after AJ Brown. I know that Dontavian Wicks is going to be a big part of that in the short term, but in the long term, I think they do have uh a player to add there that can be part of that uh that future that they the the future of that position. So I think honestly it I'd be surprised if in the first three rounds they don't draft a receiver. Wide receiver was number two on my board. Yeah I would have I would have It was two for me as well. I think they are definitely gonna draft one in the first three rounds. I would be I would be very surprised if they don't. Maybe there's a wide receiver going in my mock draft that's gonna be up on all PHI.com tomorrow. They don't. Someone in the chat's gonna be very happy about it. Um I think wide receiver is uh is a good pick. I remain of the opinion that we had on Friday show going through the wide receivers in this class. It is a really underwhelming group. Yeah. Everybody is being pushed up at least around from what a normal prospect profile looks like. But there are some guys I think on day two and day three who who can add to a room. I have a sweeping declaration here. Okay. If the Eagles, because I've seen this out there and I I hate it. So I want to get it, I want to address it on the podcast. If the Eagles trade two first round picks to draft Jordan Tyson, I will do the first 30 minutes of you guys can tell me the show. I will do the first 30 minutes of a show in a British accent . That's how confident. You guys know how much I need to. That's how confident I am that they will not trade two first round picks to replace AJ Brown for the first time. The idea being they're gonna get one for AJ so they can just trade it's it's as if they are trading AJ Brown for Jordan Tyson. I just Jordan Tyson missed half of the games in college that he was eligible to play for play in. Like I'm not he was like a fun player. Like sure, I could see how people get there, but I don't think that they're gonna go here's wagering their future on the players. The injury stuff with Jordan Tyson, though , at least he was good. At least he he was really, really productive in his healthy year. That's like I know they're different rounds, but if you're talking about a one for Jordan Tyson versus a two for Chris Bell, but I'm saying two ones hasn't produced in four years. Well, I know. Receiving yards is final year. And he got hurt. Otherwise, he would have hit the benchmark that you you're so married to. But Jordan Tyson hit it in his second year of playing. Is it uh it matters when you do it. I'm not saying that they won't draft Jordan Tyson. I'm saying I don't I would be stunned if they trade two ones to get Jordan Tyson. That has to be part of it. Two ones. Uh the chat uh says we also have to do be shirtless. I'm not doing the show shirtless. What are we talking about here ? Bottomless. I mean, it depends on what studio . All right, let's take a break on the PHL by Eagles Podcast back with round two of the boos draft on the other side. EJ on the clock . Back on the PHOY Eagles podcast, EJ's back on the clock after drafting wide receiver and the duck duck juice drafts, the positions that we think the Eagles are most likely to select on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. And now let's get to what's brewing. Presented by Wawa EJ, you are on the clock, fourth overall . Where do you go? So I have a a quick question. I shouldn't talk about the two I'm struggling with because that might tip off BLG. No, you should certainly can. It's not gonna come, it's likely not gonna come back to you in five picks anyway. Yeah, but I'm this was really me being a good co-host, like you know, looking out for my work wife. Like, do you want me to kind of play it, play it cool here? Do whatever you want to do. Because I feel like you and I are on the same wavelength. So I think the two that I'm torn between, you probably have one of them in your top tier. It's possible, but also BLG is his own man. You know, he is. He's got a you think you think you're gonna sway him from his predetermined board, you know? All right. That's how you make mistakes on draft night. I am struggling between tight end and interior offensive line. Okay . I would be s shocked if the Eagles don't draft a tight end at some point. Uh I could see him drafting two. I don't wouldn't I don't think it's a foregone conclusion, but I could see them drafting too, especially like add like a dirty work guy on like day three at the very end. I think a tight end double dip is very much in the in the possibility. But interior offensive line, they could they could double up there too, especially if it is like a Venga Yoane in the first round. Like I could see them going back. Yeah, I know. He's gonna go early. I'm going to go tight end. I'm gonna stick to my board. I don't want you guys to look at my board, but you can see that tight end is third on my board. Um I mean it could be Kenyan Sadiq in the first round. Maybe they move up and get him, get a true difference maker and impact player in this class, which I saw what I think they should do. Um for be yond that, on day two of the draft they're gonna have tons of options and they're gonna be able to pick whatever flavor they want, whether it's receiving tight end, uh combo guy like Nate Borkatcher, who is obviously not you're not the biggest fan of, or you know, a dirty work guy, a guy who can kind of be a younger cost controlled version of what they wanted to add in Johnny Munn. So I think they're gonna have a lot of optionality. And for that reason, I do think that it's a pretty, pretty solid pick uh at this point in that. Brandon, where are you on the possibility of Sadiq in round one? I don't see it. I think they're gonna so I'm sorry, EJ. It's heartbreaking it's like really hurt. Yeah. I I just from the positional value standpoint. Really? I can't you can't see it. I can't. I'm not sold on the offensive weapon uh angle for that. For them, I just feel like of the positions um you could get later. I think that's something they could slash will bank on, especially after you bring back Goddard. Not that like, you know, you feel amazing about him even necessarily staying healthy, but I d I just don't know the value you're getting out of that. I think you look at him as a pass catcher, you look at him as a again, a a player that has a chance to make a real impact in a class where you're not really looking at a lot of players like that. I know that your argument will be you'd rather have an average offensive tackle than like a top eight tight end in the NFL. That's not my argument. Well that's my argument is I'd rather have the top eight tight end in the NFL . Well I think you're wrong about that. Especially for the Eagles system where like they don't an an average tackle in the Eagles offense is going to be a liability . Well, you don't know that. Uh we also hear that there are maybe some changes being made to the what they're gonna ask of tackles. But first of all, you're wrong about just the the the market valuation for it. I mean a an average starting tackle is a lot more than the you know fifth best tight end in football. Sadiq is definitely going to be a top eight tight end. Well none of these guys like I don't think that the tackle prospects are definitely going to be average tackles in the NFL. A lot of them look like guards to me. So I'm just saying the framing is like you're drafting, you know, I don't want to use Ihanatora as the example. If you're drafting like Caleb Lomu over Kenyan Sadiq, get out of here with that. And I I understand your framing of like it's you they are more expensive, but they are also easier to sign. Like you can find an average tackle in free agency. You might have to overpay for it. I don't think you have to overpay for it. It's way easier to sign a tight end. No, it's easier to sign a tight end, but a top five tight end, those guys don't hit the market. I mean, good tack les never hit the market. Average tackles. We're talking like no, those are sub-average tackles. Those are those are you can find a guy that like is an average starter in the NFL easier in any position than it is to find like a true elite tight end on the on the free agency market. Those guys are gonna get tagged. So it's not about like the the I think you are overstating the the the the likelihood of finding an average tackle in free agency. I think it's extremely I mean I'm trying to think of the guys who signed this year. Your your boy. Bottom barrel. Elijah Vera Tucker. Right. He was coming off two straight season ending injuries. I would call him an average tackle. Well, if he's healthy, he's good, but he's he That's he's on the average. He's been injured for a very long time. We're talking about like the guy who was the backup on the Niners gets signed by the Chiefs to like a twenty million dollar deal. Yeah, I'm that I exact you can still find those guys. You have to overpay for them, but you can find an average tackle in free agency easier than you're going to find, like Charlie Kollar. I'm trying to think like I don't want to use Chico Conquo. I think you're you're aiming higher than that. Let me see. My my even like Kyle Pitts didn't hit the market. That's what I mean. Kyle Pitts is not an elite tight end, but it's hard to find like top eight at any position in free agency. And and Kyle Pitts is a good reminder here because Kyle Pitts was super productive and tested out of the gym and goes fourth overall and has had a fine career. Yeah, that's fair. Barely fine. And he gets drafted over Jamar Chase and Panay Sewell, guys at premium positions, and that's fine. But again, the the profile of Kenyan Sadiq, I like watching Kenyan Sadiq. He he's really fun to watch. He's a he's a much better blocker than he's being given credit for. Fran has done a very good job breaking him down, but I'm just a little bit wary of the profile. He's got this amazing athleticism, and he's he doesn't have production. And I'm a little bit worried about that. Yeah, I can't I can't explain away the production, but I do think it is reflective of the class. Like you're talking about Penny Sewell and Jamar Chase. We're not talking about those types of prospects that the Eagles are weighing against uh Kenyon Sadiq. I think it is a pathway to getting a player that can make a real impact. And I just don't see it with the other guys. I mean, and listen, I you everybody in this draft is going to be a possibility at 23, you can poke a lot of holes in. Yeah. It's it that that's why it's not thought to be a very good draft. Um but I just where do where do the good players at good positions come from? They come in the first round tackle is like a player that is a second round caliber prospect because he's a tackle in the first round, I'm just not talking about it. A guy who would probably be a a a second or third round pick at at tight end. A position that's Kenyon Sadiq is not that generally speaking , usually takes a really long time to develop and then has changed over the past couple years. Colston Loveland and Tom Warren and Brock Bowers. You're saying that Kenyon Sadiq is a second round prospect in most drafts? I think I think athletically he's a first round player. I think if this were a different draft, he would be talked about at the back end of first round. I disagree. Yeah. I disagree. Okay. And that's what's brewing. Call him a second round player. I presented. I don't I don't get that. Bye wah wah. Uh all right, BLG, you are on the clock now. That's right. After tight end. Where are you going? It's just one pick, right? Just one. Yes. Double check. Uh I'm gonna go between you started syncing again. I I did. If I asked how the snake draft worked, you would have been I would have been in hell. Well yeah, but yeah, he's a guest. I'm a guest. But I I mean I should know. I just wanted to be safe. Um I'm gonna go with the other of your two picks there. Yeah. Um it's a kind of a chalkboard, I would say so far. I'm gonna go into your offensive line. Um I was I was really hoping you would take that over tight end because uh I felt strongly more strongly about tight end . So good pick by you. Uh yeah, I mean I think it's kind of when they brought back Fred Johnson, I think that was obviously key, not only because you have depth behind you know, and we'll see what they do in terms of the first round, but the just setting floor of depth behind Lane Johnson, um Jordan Milata, but also the fact that if they if Fred Johnson didn't return, they would have three different their their top three backup offensive linemen would all be different, right? From last year and Brett Toat's gone. And I think that's an underrated loss. I agree. Yeah. I think it's a sneaky loss for the Eagles. Um Matt Pryor, you know, not the best player and was he was the eighth in that pecking order ultimately, but still you're you're losing players who've played in the NFL and you can point to, and you know, they're obviously high and Drew Kendall, as you've talked about, EJ, but hasn't done it yet, and you don't know. So I feel like they're gonna have to get some more security there . Landon Dickerson, we don't know how much longer he's even going to play. Yeah. Which is a concern. Cam Jurgens, you know, we'll see what he looks like this year. The big unknown. So it feels like they have to address that at some point . I don't know when, but at some point, so I'm gonna take that and feel as a good as a high floor option. Good pick, I think. Yes, a great pick. The right good chance it's a uh first three rounds for sure. I have just constantly been using the Landon Dickerson analogy from a few years ago where it's like you draft a guy, you hope he doesn't start many games and he might start fifteen games this rookie season with the way that their interior offensive line looks this year. I think that they will approach drafting offensive linemen as if it's the first round, it's got to be a tackle. I I don't think they would use a first round pick on an interior guy. And then any round after that, it's just best available lineman. That's kind of how I feel. And I think I think you're right about the Fred Johnson point. Um, because they don't they don't need to force that in terms of uh a short term thing. It's just that if you want to procure a long term guy at the position, that's when you gotta get him. I feel like we don't have to do it today. Before the draft, I think we should talk more about this. Like, he's got like an eight percent chance of being a good tackle, but that's fine because we're draft like that eight percent draft that eight percent is the difference between him and someone like Venga Yohanne. I just I I don't know. don't know if I'm there with that. We don't have to do it today. It's fine. Okay . Um last pick of the second round. I'm gonna go I'm gonna go safety. Um I don't feel great about that. I think I think that's why there was a there was a clear top five, and there's a little jumble here of the next four picks you could convince me, or next three maybe you could convince me on, but I do think there's a chance on day two they draft a safety who can compete to start next to Drew McCuba. Howie has like very openly said they're not done at that position. I think this is a pretty good safety draft too. Fran has has broken it down well. I think that's one of the few positions where, as we went through the exercise, it made me feel better about the group than I would have thought in a normal year. Um, and so I think there's a good chance that with three day two picks, there will be a safety who's the top of their board there. Um, so I'll go safety. Was that next for you guys? Yeah, I was next for me. Uh, I think there's zero chance it happens in very bold and in the first round. And um I like people talked about like, oh yeah, but you would have said that about linebacker last year, right? With jihad Campbell. And the difference there and fair rebuttal, but the difference there is they also kinda had already tipped their hand in showing that they valued that position a little differently when they paid Zach Bond a huge contract. That was a great point. Um and I I think it's a different situation where it's really the opposite this year. They could have kept Reed Blankenship if they really wanted to do that, and they clearly did not value him. They don't value a starting an average starting safety at eight million dollars and that tells you they're probably not gonna use especially on the the second two guys. Mm-hmm. I think there is a world where if Caleb Downs are going to, but if Caleb Downs was available at like fifteen and they could move up for him as a a that's the truly elite player. I think they yeah, I would put two turkeys on . But I think I think you're right. Okay. Safety was next for you as well. It was, yeah. So I had them broken up. You had a top five. I had a top actually had a top six, but we've we've have we have all of them off. I think there's a big tier skip from here, in my opinion. EJ has wide receiver and tight end. I'm between two picks here, both of them sort of projecting they're going to have to replace a starter next offseason, guys who are pending free agents. I'm gonna go with corner. Okay. Uh, because we know Vreek Willen is on a one year deal . They would like, I think potentially to have another nickel guy in the pipeline, if they could find it. And most importantly, what breaks the tie here for me between corner and defensive tackle is I'm doing my part for the show. Cornerback, safety, if we have a flex guy, now there's no debate. I just get the point. Oh, I mean it would have been more fun if there's like uh some some argument manufacturer drama. That's true. Yeah. That's true. Would have been good for you. But I'm I'm taking corner. I think uh I think there's a chance on day three they they draft a corner. All right. You guys agree? Yep. Yes. Yeah. Was that would that have been next on your list? Uh maybe not. Okay. It was not for me. What do you got? I wanna get spicy. We're gonna do it. No! High upside swing! High upside swings . You did cornerback. I'm going to do quarter. Nice . I think this is like way more likely than it's g etting talked about. And not and it's not so mad you took that. It doesn't have to be the Eagles hate Jalen Hurts. Like that's not the reason they would alone they would take a quarterback. Um I just think even if you let's just take Jalen Hurts out of it for a second . Having a quarterback on a rookie contract is a bargain. Not even just from a starter standpoint, but a backup standpoint. Guys last year who are making like six point five six million dollars include like Zach Wilson and Jarrett Stidum. You're paying those guys like real money to be a backup quarterback for you, and guys that you don't feel good about at all. Um, so I think there's a real chance they take someone in this draft um to get cheaper there. Tanner McKee, the GOAT, um likely probably not going to be back on the final year of his deal. Also he could have more kind of comfortability trading him now that you have Andy Dalton in the house as well. Uh if it offer materializes this offseason. So I think absolutely quarterback should be on the table. For anyone like pushing back against it as an impossibility, I mean that's what we thought when they took Dylan Hurts. Yeah, but once upon a time. Literally done this before and it has worked out incredibly well for them. So and usually when you're looking at what like when you're trying what the Eagles are gonna do in the draft, I mean any team, that is as good an indicator as anything. So uh yeah, I that was gonna be my pick. I I think that there's a late day two, early day three. It would not surprise me at all if they drafted a quarterback. And I like the idea of even though they have three guys on the roster now, and let's say that McKee doesn't get a blow-you away offer that you have to to take. They've got, you know, Sean Mannion, Josh Grizzard, Parks Frazier, Gerard Johnson, all these quarterback guys in the building , uh they have enough bandwidth to take on sort of a developmental project uh and have that be their their you know year long incubator. Maybe that's what Gerard Johnson does, because we're kind of wondering what he's gonna do. Yeah. Um so I think that's I think that's a good good high upside swing. Is there a guy you you uh uh have your eye on? Uh I don't. I don't yet, but I just feel like the uh the upside because if they're gonna take one, I'm guessing it might be like if there's one worth taking, it might be in the third round or second round as opposed to just waiting all the way to the second. Yeah, I uh was doing some some mock draft simulators this morning in preparation for my mock. And you know, sometimes like the the mock draft simulators can get wonky because it's like I know that guy's not going to be there. Um but I did a few where Garrett Nussmeyer was available. Sure. At the end of the third, early fourth. I feel like the Eagles would do that. There's a report out today that he had a he has a cyst on his spine that's responsible for the injuries that he had last season, and right now he is not feeling the effects of that. But if it comes to the point where it needs to be replaced, it's like a three week deal. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know what if' I dont why he wouldn't just go ahead and do that then, but yeah, you would think like during the the pre-draft process, especially at this point. Uh yeah, I had him in one of the simulations I did, I had him at 98 overall for the Eagles. Okay. Uh all right, EJ, you're on the clock. Yeah, I really liked quarterback. Uh this is in my tier three, which I titled Possible Surprises . Um I I knew you would love my like very generic name. Um I'm gonna go defensive tackle. Okay. Uh I think that was the one you were deciding between, Bo. Uh there is that that Moro Ajomo, Milton Williams, Javon Hargrave role that the Eagles really value, that deputy uh pass rushing specialist on the interior off or defensive line. Um, I don't think that they'll use an early pick on it unless it is someone like Keldrick Falk, but I think on day three, it probably will take a flyer on somebody uh to try and make sure that they have some succession planning there. So, you know, maybe that's like a Zayn Durant from Penn State. I think he's someone who makes sense. Tyler Onyedum probably is a little bit early for the Eagles. Um although I know I know Fran's not a big fan of his either. So that makes me wonder how much the Eagulls would value him. But for the for the for that position, I think it is one that they will target at some point on day three. And yeah, I I also get the added value of Keldric Falk if he gets drafted. Maybe you know it's okay. Like where's he gonna line up day one? So I like it for team content as well. Okay. I think deepens of tackle's good. Yeah, I think I think they would like to have a guy who can they can dream on as having the OGMO path. Yep. A late round pick who who ends up replacing him 'cause it seems unlikely he's gonna be back. Yeah. All right Al.right, you you get your your last pick. Start off round four. Alright. I am going to go . I'm gonna go specialists. Wow. Really? Whoa. I was gonna go I it's I'm going against my board for the record. Wow. But this is history. This is the first time, I believe, in nine years of the Duck Duck Juice Draft that spe specialcialistists have s for has not been the final pick. This is very exciting and you have to wonder, is this a reflection of the exciting new rule change that was made about fullbacks counting? It totally is. I did this mostly 'cause I think it sounds fun to root for the Eagles to draft a fullback. Um I don't think the Eagles are gonna draft a kicker or a punter. I mean a long snapper. Maybe they don't have one guy on their board. They're like, all right, we're trading into the seventh to get this gu y. Uh it was mostly just for the fun of I wanted I wanted to leave the draft with this as like my uh my my trophy. So I want specialists. And I will tell you what he said in over time . Fran , of course, who as defending champion gave the draft order. He was trying to set you up for success, EJ. He says, EJ, I gave you the third pick and you just flushed it down the toilet. I think my draft has been very good up to this point. And you know, listen, again, I want to root for this. So I feel great about it. I've become the fullback guy on the show. You should have known this was gonna happen. He says literally, I'm gonna give E. G the third pick as a handicap to help him out. Wow. All right. BLG, running back and linebacker left. Where are you gonna go? I respect the move from EJ from an entertainment standpoint. I was considering doing that. I didn't think you were gonna actually do it. And I was like, well, whatever. It'll be fun to root for. Um now the much less fun and actually serious choice, I guess. I'll go linebacker. Um I feel like you can always draft a linebacker, you know, if at least to play special teams. Um obviously they're set there at starters. And even I feel really good about the depth there. I think Jeremiah Shotter Jr. is a player that kind of doesn't get talked to enough about in terms of the uh scope of the roster and and he was really good last year I, thought in, training camp. He didn't lose the starting job in training camp because he was bad. He lost it because they had jihad Campbell. Yeah. He took him with the first round pick. So uh I'm bullish on him. Should either one of the starters get hurt or Campbell for some reason doesn't work out. Um, but they can always use more depth there still. And we're at this point in the draft where it's the penultimate pick. And also just yeah, the day three, there's a good chance the guys at the top of your board. Sure. Yeah. It's totally fine. I have a question about the linebacker uh classification. Okay. Harold Perkins. If they draft Harold Perkins, what are we calling him? What position do they say that he is ? Okay . We go we go France first, but if they pre if declare something different. Not necessarily. Yeah, that's that's then that's when we gotta see where he lines up. Who's he doing position groups with? Yeah. Uh and that's when we're like, you know , when they do the conference call in the middle of the draft, everybody's gonna be like, oh, so which coaches did you talk to? You know, throughout the draft process, right? Remember jihad's talking to Jeremiah uh Jeremiah Washburn, everybody's like, oh, they want to make him an ed ge. Um good point in the chat from Ezio, EJ . How I would draft a serial killer before he would draft a long snapper. I mean, again, I'd not say this was I I really treated this exercise Allie Roseman doesn't even think long snappers deserve roster spots on the fifty three, let alone a draft. I want something to root for. Okay, I like that. Uh that oh I mean great value for me getting running back uh twelfth overall. Mr. Irrelevant. I don't think I mean listen, Saquon's in the last year of his deal of guaranteed money . Uh Tank Bigsby is a free agent after this year. Will Shipley's got one year left. So there's there's real reason, I think, that in this draft where there's some there are some okay day three guys. It's possible that they draft a guy. Yep. Yeah. Possible. I could get you get a two pointer or a three-pointer there. I'm okay with that. Pat Phoenix asks if a punt returner counts. I don't think that's fair. I don't think that's fair for the claim a punt returner. Yeah. But a fullback. If if it's a tight end, it's full backy , that's gonna be fun. This is what I I feel so good about. You just want the drama. Yeah, I just I just like the intrigue for the show. I'm team content. EJ, your roster and your first foray into DDJ, wide receiver, tight end, defensive tackle, and special ist BLG in your debut, edge, interior offensive line, quarterback and linebacker, and bow looking to get off the schneid, tackle, safety, corner, and running back. How'd you guys feel about your your first duck duck juice draft? I think I feel better about yours. The tackle one is just it's it's a really I think the number one pick overall this year was actually a good year to get home. I like the tackle. Good year for the first pick, I think. Yeah . I think tackle front tight end might might work out pretty well for you. The more I think about it though, I think tackle isn't a tier of its own. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Well let us draft a guard. In the comments, how you would have stack ranked it all. Um oh, that reminds me. So a very exciting announcement today. I think everybody who watches this show should check out broadstreetbulletins.com.
