Do you know what do you want to be you know what? Before this, I don't know, I panicked and put after shave on. So I feel like I'm an exxy beast. I feel like I feel like a little bit of an exxy beast. I put some after shave on thinking I guys was go to formal event, but I'm actually just in my office space in. Yeah, you're in your office,re in the comfy cllothuse. Well, Sam, it's a joy to have you on actor, gamer, comedian. I love your videos on Instagram where you basically gamify normal life. You've had a big reaction to those videos as well, right Yeah, thank you so much for having me as well. It's been a long time coming. Yeah, I have had a really good reaction to those and it's great because it's a mix of all the worlds that I've grown up in. RPG worlds, I've worked in marketing my entire life, trained as an actor. So it's kind of bringing all of those pillars together to do what I love. I was so happy when I posted the first time at the beginning of the year and it got a huge reaction Not that that's the purpose. I think the more I do, the more I realise that the purpose of content is to enjoy it. It is but it is also It's the purpose, isn't it? You do Yeahah, ye. But getting big numbers is always nice anyone that says otherwise is lying But yeah I love it. It's been really, really fun Now Sam, you've already only been on the podcast for, I'd say less than two minutes and you already win a prize. Do you know what that prize is, I know? I didn't win no prize win priz. Sam Sam's on you're earning a prize early doors. Do you know what it is? Sam can you guess what it is Lots of hand movements No, you'veither you've got Hands down, the best mustache we have ever had. O. Thank you. Thank you. not even there's not even a competition Thank you, so. Thankk you. Have you had many? You may be the only one, but let's let's not it that's fice. Let's not do it on understand. For allud your listeners only, you know, people don't watch the clips and they' just listen to len spotif f you' out and youre run and you're doing your daily community, listening to us in the car, whatever. Sam's got a f Frank, I'm jealous of Sam than Beautiful. Bushhy Tash. It's amazing. Thanks amazing. Terrible tablet. It's an awful tablet. Gnd mustache. So Sam interesting, you was talking about like your love of RPGs got you into making those instst videos that have done so well What RPG? what was the one that was like, o yes, this is my bag? I think it was obblivion. When I was younger, I grew up in a village in Devon, All my family are Welsh, by the way, Staffs had bigger Wales. Well was I didn't want to anyhere where it is. I didn't want to lead with it, but I amm interested in the Welsh connection because I' spoted that on you. So my dad was a football player, I played for Wales, Captain of Swansea and the rest of my family is super Wels. he's a Jeordie And then he got transferred to Exeter so we grew up in Devon. So I don't have a Welsh accent, but everyone in my family is Welsh or from the Northeast So growing up in in a village in Devon, there wasn't much else other than WiFi. and so I played a lot of callall of duty, preordered that, skipped school and it came out early, loveved that S shout a game Um And yeah, RPGs were a big part of mine in my brother's life because we shared a bedroom. so we would just take turns playing quests on oblivion and just killing people until mum would walk in and we'd pretend to just like farm But yeah, Oblivion was one of those that really really stood out as being like a super immersive game that we talk about at school Yeah, T we I don't know obblivion or morowind on the part of we I know? Yeah. you know what? Sam, I'm with you. Oblivion was what got me into elder girls properly as well because I had morowind and I didn't quite get into it. And then I got I got the Oblivion limited edition. I still got it cameame with like gold coin And I was like, yeah, Shan Bean's in it. It's Yeah I mean I'm in Sean's on. I'm in. Now Sam, we start the podcast every episode with an unsung hero game. basically games that don't get thelaudits people feel they deserve. So we are giving you the spotlight, the platform is yours to share with us Unsung hero game. whereere would you go? I'm going to go down the nostalgic route just because I think I'm more of a basic B word when it comes to gaming now because I just follow the herds of people, whatever people are playing I play. Whereas when I was younger, I felt like I was a bit more explorative in the physical shops of buying games. And one game I bought that like stayed with me forever. and the more people I speak to, the more I find like hidden people that amongst the crowds who have also played it is theme hospital Oh yees. spg. Yes. Yeah. It' like nineteen ninety seven where people just get like massive heads. you have to hire doctors, you can sack doctors. It was so good. It was it wasn't a great game, but it was super fun to play. Everyone being in the hospitals. Oh, the vomit, the vomit was gorge I never had enough janitors. never true yeah. ye. Toilets are always overflowing And you know what? When you play that game, you always think, yeah, I'm going to run the best hospital b. Yeah. And it turns out, you're running it worse than your local GP, is so. Yeah. And you know what I was thinking because I've recently bought like a meta headset, like a meta VR headset And're playing a lot of VR poker, which no one talks about, but it's like real life trolling. It's so much fun to play. But yeah, I think Thee Hospital takes the crown for me L Producer David still playing it. okay? So it's really? Yes, it's not even a game that sort of has drifted off into people's memories. It still it's still real for some people the theme hospital life are. And of course a lot of those producers, excuse me, just bullfrog, wasn't it the people who made it from the famous British company, did they make dungeon keeper as well Yeah. Yeah that's it. legendary British production company. And A lot of those lads then went on to make and ladies went on to make basebook if able, but also more recently two point T point Hospital whichich is basically. so if you want to relive that Thee hospital light. I'm writing that sam T pointoint Hospital and now two pointoint University The games are basically made made by Lenore of the the same crew. have the same announcer as well who does the Tanay announcements. It's the same lady She Have you seen this that the lair who did the voice overver for Thee Hospital does gigs in pubs I did hear something about that Yeah. So they have a sitt in the corner And reading all this because they ann to used to say crazy stuff on the The theme Hospital, didn't they? And she does that in a corner. In fact, we're gonna find it and we're going share it at some point. you might hear a little bit of it now She might be on cameo as well, I think. We might have We should get us to do a like press X one. I know. I'm writing it down. Cbody write that down. Can we get the lady from Thee Hospital to do us a press X thing? Thee' be Hospital That's So I know what a digital you know digital game is sam, I'm writing this down with Penn Ppe. I'm surprised they come with a phone app. They might have, David will probably know, but I'm surprised Thee Hosital is not on the phone because I lady. I've got a feeling that we've given a Visual prodroducer ON who is a genius for all these funny gags. I think we've gi him a treasure trove of ideas in the last thirty seconds. Although we might bump into some rights issues along the way, so we'll we'll see how we pant out. Very good shot. Now in the Discord, Finor has suggested as an unsung hero game. Nine kings which is a rogue like kingdom builder. we use cards to place defences down. It goes on sale quite often on steam. so check out Nine Kings. Thank you very much Fina for yourine hero suggestion. So we've had two Kraken shouts at theme Hospital. Oh, that takes me back. Good. I remember we had saw our sam. you've unlocked a a whole world of memories. I remember I were horn C was a bit rubbish. So sometimes I had to play on the low quality graphics version. Did you ever try that Yeah. I had a big you know when your computers are so old they go yellow after like six months and the screen' like that big and they're like humming at you. I used to play World of Walk afterft on one and it was just constant like an asthmatic. It was just constantly you're like I was on any game that had more than like three frames per second Yeah. themeospital on the Low graphics was ye I was I played it on the playlaystation. and I always it came with like the weird FMV intro sequence was horrifying. Yeah in today's stand is horrifying, but it was so good back in a day. Yeah. Oh great show Good stuff. L lovely we're going to start the podcast. rightight? let's get in then too some trivia before we go any further So what you need to do is you get your trivia into the discord channel, any facts you've got any interesting tidbits about games, basically stuff that our crack production team can go and turn into a question On the producers can see it Okay, me and Ineel six months later, we're not frosty but at all are we Ineel. We've grown up we're grown up. We're over it is. I've come to accept it now. Yeah' come to accept it. There's some things in life that I'm just not privy to. It's our own channel, Sam You know,'s all in the discord And we're not allowed to see it. It's like having a room in your house. you can't go in. Can't go in you're paying all the bills. Iinan' built that lovely office out of his back We just can't go in. C can't go in. You not in your office there in London, can't give it anyway. So this week's question there is a leaderboard thanks to the very clever work of Yes Andy No in the Discord who is a mathematical whiz There's an algorithm going on in the background. it doesn't matter how many questions you answer it figures out the leaderboard. I'm not gonna to ask any more questions than that because there's been some contention with the algorithm It' late. Let's not on that. So Sam, let's see how you get on, right? But it's all for fun, Sam. okay? It's not Are you guys answering these as well or is it just me? Yeah, So we're all answer. None of us have seen the answers to the question because of that' se the channel, Sam Right G a got you to be a continuire The question this week is this How did a cording error lead to the development of a new power up in twenty thirteen's Super Mario three D worldorld. How did Cording error lead to the development of a new power up in twenty thirteen's Super Mario World So theyve they've messed up some cording And hey of voila, there is a new power up in the game We'll give you the answer at the end of the podcast, but just any first thoughts, I know? like fantastic game, but like is it a power up that's still in the game or was that was just like an error it got taken out? I don't know. I think it's still in the game. I think it's still in the game I reckon it could be the cat mechanic because the mechanic with the cat is like you can climb up any wall Uh Oh no, maybe that was it. I don't know. Did you did did your I reckon that they maybe added too much life? you know, if you got like an extra if your life got extended or whatever, it was by too long So that it's too powerful I mean, that's a crap example, but you know what I'm't a mario, though, isn it? What was did you say theame was sorry? twenty thirteen twenty thirteen. Oh so not like a vintage retro Mario. it's the Wi you one It's the yeah, it's the four player we you Mario and there's a cat ower up where you turn into a cat I was going to say there was the parrot that makes him larger, but that would have been years back that that hass been developed. That's definitely wrong They could have made it bigger anyway. We have a little let the per unit in the back of all games we' come back to it. new power up Was that? was it Was that was that the game where you had two of you That was four. four mers Yeah I remember playing it with my friends. it's very fun like multiplayer co op game. but Thes of like a power. Anyway, we'll come back a good question. Whoever put that in the this sc? Thankk you very. That is question. And we will let you know what the leader board is. Keza McDonald's still top. She's the Gardian's Games dter. so she should be top. She won't be toppled. Einel's in fourth at the moment. and I'm in second. Anyway, okay, so let's moveving on Talking of co op games then. Do you like a co op game Sam? Do you like playing with people? Yeah, I love it. likeike I said, I grew up in a was me and my brother shared a bedroom for sixteen years and we had one Xbox three hundred sixty between us. so we were forced to play co op games. And like PlayStation when we used to have that to Absolutely smash z zer seven night file on split screen know it's going to be very, very happy you've mentioned that. Two people are going to be very very happy you've mentioned Night Fire One regular guest Benedict Townesen who absolutely love. Oh, I met him last night, lovely bloke. Yeah he met him in the bat. Benedict, lovely man L Loves is James Bond, but also producer David hasn't stopped talking about Nightfy since we started doing this podcast. mentions it every episode. Everyiddle week. Nightf We grew up in the same house. Lady's my brother. Long l. So if you hear mentions of Runescape on the podcast, that would be prodroducer Oen. and if you hear mentions of Nightfy That would be a producer, David. Okay. So Sam So you better nightfail grow up with your brother Yeah, yeah, but it obviously causes friction when you're on a very small screen playing split screen trying to kill each other with snipers, or odd job with his metal hat when you can see where the other player is hiding Um So it was an honesty test, but yeah, bloody love c op games Well, it has been confirmed that Aliens Fire Tam Eite is going to be getting a sequel later on this year. and it's basically going to be a co op game where you're together trying to take down a xenomorph in a variety of different environments and in different battles and stuff like that and we haven't talked much about co op games actually, but They're so good, aren't they? Like I know there's something about and I I love Cch co. We've talked a bit about the loss of couch co op games and now how they're sort of coming back Yeah. But at the moment because I of aforementioned kids and time issues, that's the thing I miss most about gaming I think at the moment is it's getting done with the mates and getting into it Yeah, I hear you like it's my favorite way of playing video games is co op. easily, hands down. All the best experiences I've had is co op games, playing with my friends side by side, run the same team accomplishing some sort of goal. and and speaking of alien Fight teeam L, I played the first one with my partner. looved it. Asbsolutely fantastic. like the game isn't f. The game isn't great, but the experience you can have with someone is fantastic because it's just like in the movies where you're in a situation, you're in a room, all of a sudden you can hear aliens everywhere you got your headphones like, they're all they're all there and all of a sudden you get raid. they all come in, you're firing and you know the iconic sound effect from the from the assault rifle. You get that ike you're shooting over there, they're over there, everyone' screaming on the coms. It's absolutely fantastic. So like when I heard the sequels coming, I'm down. D Did you see you' played this with your partner right now? Yeah. Are they a gamer as well Yes, yes, yes. my father is a gamer as well. And like She loved it. absolutely loved it. And it was because I remember the first fight team came out. it was during the pandemic times during lockdown. so it was a perfect excuse for everybody to kind of play together online. I think it was game passass but it came out as well. So it was that was a win. and so News that the sequels come in, Yes. Yeah That's good. And so should we list off of some of our favourite co op games that people should and try out if they if they haven't. Sam whereere would you like us to start? probablybably a basic B word. wer but split fiction I played recently with my mate. We had a few beers and played split fiction. and I had a great time Lots of different genres in one game. For my ADHD brain, it felt exciting constantly. It wasn't too difficult. Some of the puzzles were like a little bit challenging but not challenging enough that you're like throwing the controller out the window. But that's which was so good, you know, because I was going to mention a way out is my my of their work. So this is the same sero that did spit fiction. it takes two which won all the awards and the being turned into a film as well, I think if I remember rightly. Yeah, I think I swear I've read If I just made that up I might have made it up. I think I' re that Great news of it. And a way out where you've basically breakaking out of a prison. and same thing, S, you know, you're sharing the screen, bothoth of you go do different bits to get past the next level. They've got to unlock that studio whose name for some reason is just escape H's a light. H's a light. Thank you I know. And it's so good, isn't it? And because It doesn't really matter how good you are because you're working together, Sam's will point Yeah. And I think that is the key with enjoyment in a co op game is if It's too difficult, it can be stressful. and like my girlfriend isn't a gamer at all So we tried our hand like overcooked together on Nintendo. And you still together just about we were we had like a nice dinner together, a stressful period of doing the dishes and tidying up the kitchen. and then we were like, let's game. and then we go back and clean the kitchen on a game and we were like arguing and it' it was stressful. So my partner's not a gamer. so trying to find games like split fiction where Someone can take quite a lot of the work and the other person can just like figure out how to use the camera is key. It's a cb game for me. I definitely recommend and it takes two or way out.ig it takes too. A good friend of mine Lizzie Waterworth, she's a voice actress. She voices the most iconic role in that U in that game, QTD elephant. I aint gonna to say no more. Good job. She does an amazing job. Look, get your suggestions for cor op games in as well. If you're watching this cliicked up someere on social media and comment below, get involved in a discord as well. loads of Interesting chats and conversations are going in there to get involved in the podcast, shhare your thoughts with us and we can reflect on your ideas as well in episodes to come Can I shout out for a game an online c op game Yeah. Well I mean, firstly, Iel, I thought we we had a great I'm not just saying its because you're in it and because you voiceed one of the characters in it. But I had a great time with Space Marine two online You know, youre talking about you like your fantasy in sci fi sam. If you want a power fantasy of being of being a, you know, a seven foot tall super superhuman, then then Space Marine two is definitely worth' the new wararhammer game. the latest one the latest one. minute. That's amazing. I played that I played that as well and I loved it. It was super expensive, but I loved it It's come on, come on. Hey still there's still new new content to come. C is New levels still coming, bro. Yeah He won't tell me anything, Sam. really I do love that. I do love that game. Do you know what that game reminds me of? It was very reminiscent like gears of warar kind of physics. veryer heavy bloke kind you can feel it in the controller Gears of War is another one. massive fan of Gears of War when we were younger, me and my mates back in the village. incredible. Dom and Marcus just playing together and then o it's beautiful. Yeah Beautiful. Gears five so underrated. Gears five was great. Gears five I haven't played it. That' terrible Ho right there No, I think think right l down. Yeah the best one in the series. Wh When did the mo? It was sort of I think it was like twenty nineteen, twenty eighteen. went a lot of fan fare but didn't quite live up for some reason never quite caught. Critically it was great, but a lot of people just didn't touch it. They boned off it a lot. but yeah, so I joined spe, but the one I was going to show was because I think What it did was For what could have been quite a competitive shooter managed to create a lovely community of people who are really supportive was hell divers too Oh that' a cooperative experience. So good And they beful still player Yeah, yeah, there are people playing it. I've still got it. It's like one of the few games I've got my playlaysttation. The cutscenes, the intro, it was just so well done And just how epic it feels when you start a multiplayer game music. The whole music coming in and you get shot out of the pod. Yeah. So so good But it's greatcause like I think, you know often In corooperative experiences, someone's got to do the bulk of the work. Like when I played with Einel, Einel did the bulk of the work. He was he was carning in the l. I have the space, Marie, C right?' there's a push and pull to it that I just thought was wonderful. And like people, you know, like wanting to help out and help you level up and all that ss of stuff. So big sh out to he levers too as a corp game. Any any Anneell, anything that weve forgotten, do you think here Oh like overcooked is there. you already said all the thosells. I was gonna say like just in terms of like the co op play, just well all just like multiplayer funness. Mario party games. I always have a lot of fun with your. They take a lot of time, but if you can get a group of friends together to sit down for a couple of hours, you're gonna have a great time Every time everyone's backstabbing each other, talking trash, stealing stars It in the same room, E better. Yeah. Arguably the opposite of cooperative He just make any assignment. shhout out to two games that you don't think of necessarily as co op games, but can be played co op and people have b experiences is ballers Gate three. No true Yeah. Yeahah the new pol is skate and Stardy Valley. You can play both of those games co op. And they actually so just just some thoughts. But yeah, do share your opinions. getet involved in the discord and share your thoughts and comments with us in there. Do you care about reviews, Sam? You know, you say like you sort of I'm a bit like you at the moment, kind of following the herd. I'm kind of holding on now for A for bond to be honest in terms of like jumping in But I tend to follow the ct. Do you read reviews? Do you care about reviews and what people what people say online Mainly when it comes to TV and films, but with video games, I try not to, it's more like spoken word where I get my recommendations from like in the gym, some of the like incognito nerds who I train with who are all pretend to be manto boys lifting them heavy weeights, but we're all actually secretly nerd that are just trying to stay in shape and Yeah, just get it from them. And actually the the only time I've ever reviewed something is like looking at like Battlefield six the other day, I reviewed their campaign because I love battlefield games But the reviews were terrible. Just saying it was too short and it wasn't wasn't enough versatility in it So I try not to. When it comes to TV and film, I'm much more Rotten tomatoes, esque. but not for video games. Now I try and have my own experiences as best as I can. Yeah. Now the reason we mention this is because there's a game called Slay This Payer two, which a lot of people will know Slay This Per was a very successful, very popular game. The sequel is out And it's being review bombed at the moment on steam. We're not going to get into the weeds of why it's essentially because Anita Sarkzian, who is the founder of feminist frequency was added to the credits as a consultant And you might remember her name as being one of the targets of game againate back in the day. Now we're not going to relate to getate all of that and get into all of the the frankly toxic conversation that can happen around that. but I just got us thinking about reviews, Iel and review bombing because I think you can see it a way off and actually I think review bombing now has the opposite effect. instead of turning people off a game It actually makes them more likely to buy it because they would hang about. If'ing someone's trying to turn the tighter I want to do the opposite of that Yes, exactly. And I think it It's happens mainly because a lot of the time gamers changed their mind so frequently on things that they like that it's so transparent that Oh like like it it's nonsense. For example, people were loving Slade Aspire. when it first when it when Slay Aspire two when it came out it was it was a massive success for the devs. It was selling way more like everybody was comparing it to marathon that came out on the same week and I said it'slling more copies than that And then as soon as they find out a particular person has been consulted, now they're review bumbing it. And it's like oh no, don't buy this game. It's like, but last week, you were loving it. So like I think in that in that regard, like what you were saying, it's just drawing attention to how great this game is and how much time people enjoying with it. I've played a little bit of it and I think it's absolutely fantastic again Yeah so yeah, it's having the opposite effect at the moment And you must be a little bit used to this, Sam sort of living O your career being digital and online, right? It's sort there' an element of that of this sort of stuff that comes with a little bit with the territory, does it? in terms of if someone doesn't like you and your work, it's a very public space to turn around and say Oh that sounds doing my video you know, whatever. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. But I think also a similar kind of effect and I don't I think going viral sometimes isn't the best thing for a creator. but If someone does comment loads of negative, if you get loads of hate in the comment section it'st going it boost the video. So like if you're happy with the video and you're getting hate for whatever reason, like you just said, publicity is publicity. It's going to reach probably the right people inevitably in the end. So and Yeah it happens in TV a lot, doesn't it with like, Breaking Bad and Knight of theeven Kingdoms recently night of the Seven Kingdoms overtook Breaking Bad in rankings and then the Breaking Bad lot of doing the same with a few bombing. But then it just brings both of them into the limelight and I want to watch both of. So it's only gonna have the same eff factors is in' it? I loved the sevening like the seven So did I? was so good. Fantastic. Yeah, I loved it. Is that the Game of Fronzy one? Yeah, yeah shorten episodes, a bit sort of slightly different tn. That' seen Sbody the Duo of the Sevens or whatever, the fight scene. Oh my go. It was intense, wasn't it Yeah, the cinematography of that is like some of the best fighting I've ever seen in my life. And if you haven't watched it already, go on YouTube and just look at the behind scenes of how they set everything up shot in Ireland, they built everything. The cast are there for hours. The cast is real. There's loads and loads of people in a muddy field it's unbelievable. It's definitely worth a watch. Yeah. And especially if you like shorter episodes,'s like twenty minutes long. Yeah which some of is ideal right And that's why you watch it.. I know not. Right Shall we get a review? I know you're gonna to review a game for us this week. We flipped a coin and in landed on heads, you won the review. What are you gonna to tell us about I'm gonna to be telling you guys about a game that Stefan's gonna love because as we were just talking about, this game is five hours in length Oh you're gonna love it. Sam's gonna love it because this is gamifying real life Sam's going to love it right up your street This game is called Good Night Universe. Trust me, I'm trying to speak around a lot of things because I don't want to spoil it because it's only a five hour experience, but it's incredible when you play it. play Isaac who is a six month old baby 's just gonna to make me cry I'm not saying none. All I'm saying is you play a six month old baby and the way you play the game is if you're on PC, you play it with a mouse and your webcam That's it. Now what you do is when you first boot up the game, you sync, you get this, you set up your webcam cam to look at your face When you open when you trracks when you blink your eyes It tracks when you smile and it tracks when you frown. And so when you smile, the baby can go and laugh. When you frown, the baby will get upset, start crying, that sort of thing. And when you blink Cu certain things When you players Isaac but It's entirely you hear Isaac's Fse entirely narrated by an adult. So you hear everything that Isaac's thinking at all times. You're just you're just a six month old baby, like an adult trapped in a baby And so you're trying to you're playing to play out life as a baby I'm trying to spoil around I'm talking around a love it. but what you can do which is interesting in terms of the terms of the gameplay, is Isaac could listen to the thoughts of adults around him So by and to do that, what you need to do is you need to close your you need to look at who you want to listen to. Close your eyes and tune your head So you can hear it inner thoughts. And then when you open up your eyes again, it stops completely So anytime you want to listen to someone, you need to close your eyes and you just need to just tune out and you hear it. And's as a audio sensory kind of experience, it's absolutely fantastic. Some of the best sound design in a video game I've ever played The game is way deeper than what I'm saying But that's the premise Aza parent of two small children. A I gonna feel Am I Am I going to e feel guilty but my parenting be cry? Yeah It s myself with headphoned in. shaking your head with your eyes. I ready for this? ar' over there like bad eyes closed. Yes. I'm playing games. What do you think, S? It's different to the AAolAs that me and you were drawn to at the moment It sound it sounds really fun. It sounds like an odd look For me, I'm punching in relationship. My girlfriend is much better looking than I am. So I play discrete games like on my Nintendo Switch under a blanket or bilapro on my phone So if I was to sit here going like, in my eyes she'd be like, what are you doing? And you can play this on like Switch and PlayStation Xbox. you can different mechanics, but I say play it over a webcam. It's the Yeah, It sounds very. It's imp possible experience. If you're going to be a bear, be a grizzly bear, do it properly. It's got aic score of eighty three So would you recommend Iel? wouldould you tell people to wait for it till it's on sale? It's only cost of a sixteen quQid? Yeah it's only cheap anyway. and like as I said, it's one of those g I'm trying not to spoil it because it's such a fantastic experience. It's like someone spoiling your favorite movie spoilers at the end or the big twist You' I can't tell you any more than you play Isaac as a six month old baby hs Over five hours. You can do it in one sing if you want, but like as I said, it's such a magical experience. like emotionally it gets to you. Musically, the soundtrack is incredible. The voice acting amazing. and it's just a very small studio that's made it I'm doing it I'm doing it I'm doing it Because other games we've had Sam that are often people recommend like we had someone we were talking about u Crimson days that the other days are kind of That feels like a bit of me, that's fantasy,ic, big old space, swords, shields, and dragons and all that stuff like Yeah, but I don't have a hundred hourars I't have. That' true. I just don't have it Currently, in my current phase of life, I don't have it. I know get a bit annoyed sometimes when we say this in a pard and look Games is aroad church and there are hundred hour experienence out there for people. you get your teeth stuck into it and I am jealous of you that you've got that those hours to spend. It's not a shade. It's actually the opposite. It's Oh, I wish I was you sometimes. By So at the moment, I need my five hour experiences to make me feel stuff and make me connect g. Maxs. You can do it in four. I've been dabbling I know with a game called Foxhoall, which we I may talk more about another time, which is like a perpetually online game, but it's like an isometric It's cor of duty but isometetric L lookingking down on it Um But it's an MMO. so you always online. There's hundreds of people on the map at the same time all the on two different teams and the map actually moves in real time. It's really interesting I'm kind of enjoying it, but also kind of not. Um so I'm I'm still sort of I'm still sort of like Is your like character like likek hunker down in a trench right now? Yeah yeah,ah it' just the trench wait just h wait for you to log back in Beuse I don't really know what I'm doing. So these all these other people fairly patiently telling me a lost steph because a lot of them are a lot of them are Eastern European who play the game when I seem to put I log on for some reason. they're like can you build a trench over here, please? And I'm like I'd love to mate. I'm just at the moment still trying to learn how I shoot the gun, let alone get the get the shovel out. So I've been delving into that a little bit which has been is it is fun. I think I reckon if you had a crew of people playing at the same time, that would be a laugh But I can tell you just give it It was just giving me a A video idea, you know that like what is your character doing when you're AFK, you know, like warar Zone? It's like the tooy story thing. And what are they doing when you If you do that and it pops, you just tag press X in it all call Yeah we can call up on it, Sam. Yeahah, we talk we'll talk our people spe Yeah We'll talk after it Yeah. That's all. moreore in depth thoughts on Fox will coming. I am enjoying it because I can dip in and out, I can play and now and then I can drop it. Anyway. Right. So need to wrap it up now let's go for the big question from today's show. So this is basically what we ask a big question. The producers have been scheming behind our backs and coming up with a question based on what we've been chatting about on the episode And the question this week is this. On a busy day of oblivion questing In villages of Devon You are getting yourself ready for a press X podcast recording. H showd and dressed to impress You decide to splash on that brand new Ashave from your collection of Sents by video game characters. Who is After Shave Are you picking And what? does it smell like? Which video game characters after shhave are we picking? And what does it smell like? I think this is. I'm gonna go with Kratos. It smells like like tree pines and blood. Very musky That's not a comboy I want, I don't think I know. Tree pintes. see what, you don't like tree pints p You tripide? you lost me had blood. Oh when in the chat said, you call it axe by craton. Oh outam out. He's smiling. He's smiling behind that camera. He is so chuffed with that. That is so good. What are you thinking, Sam? whoosese after shave have you takaking? What does it smell like I think James Bond's z z seven nightfire, I think that would just smell like man. Do you know when you smell an afters shave on someone, it's sometimes a bit too frozy. I've dabb in too many after shaves where I've gone a bit maybe too frrozy or a bit too toilety And I think James Bond and Nightfire would be just right. bit o. more man than Gratos It make that pretend man, fauxem man. I think Kratos would have a bit of a dungy smell to it. I'm not gonna lie I like a fruity after. Do like a fruity on step up? Yeah. So I I went into a studio once someone I was working and he was wearing this scent and I was like, everyverybody that comes into the studio says you smell fantastic. I was like So what is it And I'm going to basically copy it So shout on that. Right. So shot out to Nick Romshore, twenty eighteen. Hows it Nick What do you smell like because you smell Fantastic and he said, Stephan, I'm smelling of Labbo Santal thirty three. and I have been wearing that ever since and in Labo L's like you Sam typing. Nook like you. Sam, it's it's not cheap, right? L. It's not cheap, is' it? It's not cheap. But I tell you what It's fantastic And and I've been wearing it for years because it's a cheat corn. I don't have to think now. I just know what. I buy it Once a year Christmases, birthdays, early pictchures in. I get some sun toel And that keeps me happy. Do people tell you you smell amazing now I know like too, I feel like a cheat when they do because like this isn't my work. I'm stealing someone else's work. I'm happy to take the plaudits I did exactly the same with a contestant from Love Island. I was in Dubai for a fitness event And who wait, wrote that sentence back. It was that there was my stories. No, I was actually working on social media for a ground. I was working j The one and only time in Dubai. And I was sharing a room with a guy called Jay Youunnger from Love Island. said there was You're a lad and an actress G the out That line was because he kissed someone on the show And I was sharing a room with him. I had so many questions about him in Love Island. and we were sat there we were sharing a bed, two single beds side by side with the gap in between And I was like, You smell amazing. And he was Explorer by Mont Blanc. whichich is really cheap. It's not too expensive. It's like fifty quid And it I genuinely I've worn it for three years and I get So we are both stealing other people's scents. which is very good. You've just stolen James Bond scent. Iel stolen Createoss scent.. Do you know who I'm going well I've actually I've got a a bit of a U turn you I was initially I bet you Lara Croft smells fantastic. However, I'm going to flip that slightly actually and thought of a better one. simimilar sort of U genre, but I'm going to go Nathan Drake as my because I think I think Nathan Drake off of Uncharted is going to be it's going to be like u Like beachy, It's going to be a bit like david off cool water vibes, you know, it's gonna be He gives me the impression that he don't shower. A B. I think a BO. Who whoa, whoa. You can I get that impression when I look at him. he Linkxs Africa OBo Top of O top of. You're giving me a guy who we hasars bas skin I know and you're coming at me for Nathan Drake. Everybody's clean with it. Yeah. I mean, there will be that you know when Nathan Drake's in a day of exploring, I'm sure by the end of the day he's honking. However, at the start of the day Oh the beginning of new game. Oh at the beginning of aventure. Yeah one Lone. It smelling fragrant. It's like it's giving me coastal vibes. It's giving me fragrance. water. It's giving me before he on the plane.. Anyway That's actually a fantastic question. Who do you think is the best smelling video game character and what do they smell like that might actually a question as well Which Which fragrances out there do you think smell like specific like? spin off question like Very good. Yeah So yeah, do get involved, get in the discord, find us on social media, pressX pod or pressX podcast, TikTok, Instagram and let us know. Right then, let's get into the answers from this week's Tuvia question. I've got a sneaky v, none of us are close there How did a cording error lead to the development of a new power up included in twenty thirteen's Super Mario three D world I know you're going for something to do with a cat. I reckon like they added like a zero instead of a one somewhere and it made like the character stick to walls or something like that. Okay. I think that What do I think? I think it's an accident. So it something you I think it's like something you already have but more of it. Oh okay. If you know what I mean? Because they got the numbers wrong. Like you said, they put an extra one line fibbles out something. Somet like that I thought size. I think mine's similar to your stephan I think they might have dragged the dial too much and it went too big and it would. Yeah Yeah that could work. That could work. That's also a funny video that we're just giving you content ideas. Yeah It're like brainstorming for you. Very close. love it. Okay, right. Well, none of us have got it right sururprisingly unsurprisingly rather, developers accidentally put two Mario placement tools in an early build of the level. so it created a Mario Dopel ganger that mirrrored what the player was doing. Oh the cherry. Yeah. Then the game director Kenta Motoura liked the result and introduced it as the double Cerry How Yeah Good knowledge you now. goodood knowledge. Yeah. Yeah no I didn't remember.ue. So there's no change to the leaderboard. Keeser is still one. I'm still two. I' now leading fourth
