Oh I must have feel. I' so happy I'm happy I looked in the phot afterwards though. Have you seen the little photo of me afterwards Oh my actually't think I have sted. Well I'll love to share it to you because I was very happy after that. Right, Amy Amy's back also because we We had so many things to say about all the game announcements that have happened recently that we didn't actually get into a James Bond review last time around. So we're going to get into that pretty quick this episode But we also we do have standards and we do have a format. So we are starting with the Unsung herero game. Beyond Good and Evil was your shout last week Ay one also associated with a tattoo on your arm, which is wicked Where are you going this week This week is actually inspired a little bit by James Bond because there was a moment where and you've all played you finished James Bond haveave we finished James Bond? spoiler really. We're gonna have to do a spoiler free review of James Bond becausecause I n I myself haven't finished it yetither. haven't finished it yet either. Oh, great. Perfect. It's more that it was the opening kind of sort of maybe three or four hours to think it will pass. I think that's fine. ye. But there is when you're with your other MI six recruits, so you're with like the likes of Monroe and Kingsley and Cresida and all of your like team Something I really loved when I was kind of like going through missions is that they would kind of help you a little bit. they'd be in your earpiece kind of being like, Ah, someone's here or someone's there, or they'd help you take out a target. That triggered a cool memory in me of splinter cell conviction which has to have the best stealth co op campaign. of any game that I've played. Yeah. I absolutely love it and it just kind of made me really nostalgic for it. The idea that like you and a buddy could be kind of like clearing out enemies together. You used to be able to like mark enemies. so like your friend would mark one and you'd mark the other. and then you'd execute at the exact same time. So you'd basically take out two guards, completely synchronized and it was beautiful. It was so much fun. And it had a kind of spy thriller because you were both kind of two agents. One I think was from I want to say he was from sort of Russia and the other one was British, but they were both very different walks of life. and you learnt to really trust your partner yeah, I just thought it was absolutely brilliant. So split self cononviction for me is going to be my unsung hero of this one N relation to bond. A triangle with three dots being so iconic as a character Sam Fisher, right? Just three green dots in a triangle. Oh, splinter cell. And that sound is well Exactly. That sound. Everybody knows Exactly. Yeah. I think we should do more with Sound Fisher. Did you ever listen to this bit of a Sidestep here. the on the BBC did a audio a full cast audio dramatization of a splinter cell splinter cell story No It was so good and it just showed I think it like show to me are. I think this character works And the mediums as well. I know that's not like that's not the barometer of what makes it a little bit of trivy for you as well, Stefan. they did a watchdogs one as well that I feature in as well. Okay. Oh my God! I know. Okay. Writing that down. I'm gonna listen to both of those. Both of those. That's amazing. I have no idea.. They said it in like a podcast kind of format. Like it kind of how, you know, when you played watchatchdogs, you had the radio stations and the podcasts on them Yeah It's kind of like Oh my gosh. it tells the story through that medium Yeah. That's really cool. I'm also your own adventure kind of thing. Yeah. That's clever I'm definitely here Amy for different forms of co op And encouraging more cooperative play. and I think Stealth co op is clever. SpitSell did it so well. It really did. Convictch did it well. and I think was it Pandora? Tomorrow they had like a mortiplayer mold. It was two spies versus two Mercs. Yes. Ohes. That Really, really cool. ye The spies play in third person And then the merc's play in first person. And I always remember there was one thing you could do if you was a spy and you grabbed a merc Whisper into their air like through the voice chap. ound don't she now you before R somear G quiet, keep quiet. And you could also hack into their comms. So you could hear. It would let you hear their voice channel, but they can't hear you. so you can hear what they're saying and talking about. So good. You can't can't do it nowadays games Yeahah games don't use as many like invented. you've talked it a little bit before and in terms of like tactical Like, u HUDs and stuff are using different ways or using the voice j in different ways. proximity chat all that stuff. It just spes things up a bit, doesn't it makes it bit more interesting. It really does. Proximity chat is being used a lot more as well in horror games these days, I find in inventive ways. I don't know if you guys have played Outlast trials F too scary for me, love massive wimp. I'm a huge wimp as well, but I play with a couple of friends and that is such an inventive like sound system because it will take the voices of your friends and like replay them to you And if you're in a locker, you'll sound more muffled. So say Ainel's hiding in a locker, like you'll be able to hear him as though he's a cupboard. So it's get And if you're in like an area that's really echoy, it sort of it really does play with it. and then occasionally you'll hear your friend yelling and it's not them, it's someone else mimicking them. It's evil G me the GeeVV. That's evil Yeah So a great shout for Splinter Cells and un was a lot of pop at the time. We don't talk about Splinter Cell as much as we used to. What was that trailer that came on al longer with him and soid Samfishher and solid snake on it together? What was that was for the fighting game? Oh yeah, you're right. He featured in a fighting game. that was in he wasn't in Smash Brros, was he? Sam Fisher? Was that the trailer? Sound Fisher and solid snake. Hold hold the phone Yeah definite example in general it's just an unsung U Fran?self just sitting on Lordy's good franches. Rainbow Six Siege. It's recent tra. That's great. Where is Sam Fisher? Where is Stealth Daddy now? Yeah bring The L last I saw they had a Netflix animation. and it was good. It was good Yeah Mbe we are seeing more cross platform stuff than actually. we've had that animation and so maybe there maybe there' been that. Now from the discord, Buba and Sticks is a game that Woogly played, greatreat fun little puzzle platformer that was from the Amigas. we're going back a bit here. back. It was available for other systems, but I'm not he many people have played it U I should maybe try and find an emulator to give it another go. Yes you should. If if you loved it as a kid and you can get a hold of it on an emulator, I was a u A University reunion of the day we went to a bar that had like one of those emulated arcade machines and me and a friend played NBA Jam for about four. Oh that was so good.s that's a classic. We want to like it was he's heating up. It was got intense You know, we had to step away from it. He's f. I was like we're going to we're going to the next place. I was like, we're not going anywhere until I finish this So yeah, if you get a chance to play all games you love, go and do it because you'll never regret it PressX to continontinue is proly sponsored By you. S press X to continue merch Okay, then let's get into some trivia then because it is that time of the show where we get embarrassed by some very difficult questions Now remember, if you've got something to test us with, you can put your question into the seret disiscord channel. Secret channel. It can be a little gaming fact, it can be a little interesting nugget, It doesn't really matter. what producers will now turn it into a question that we can then answer on the show, which is exactly what our patreon exxy Beast King of the Exy Beasts, Johny VR. That's what he's done. And that's who has come up with this week's question And Johnny's question is Be a continionire Gameplay mechanic in the inpatient, which was the VR prequel to until dawn led to developers, including You in the credits Credited as the player. So there was a gameplay mechanic in a game called the Ipatient and the developers put you as the player in the credit as a result Now it would be it would be a V ar, wouldn't it Johny? Yeah ye ye sneaky littleep so and so. That's a great question, you scoundrel, John U I think is it something to do with the eye tracking? It's got nothing to do with the fact that it's a VR game apparently. Oh, it hasn't, okay, right? No Be it was forR, wasn't it So what would you do as a player that would lead you to being credit? Oh Are you clz as a wrster? Rller coaster one or is this a different one Oh, no Rush of Bood was the roller coaster one. That's ye Yeahah. That's is my name. This was before it was yeah, it was quite an unusual one. And it was Supermassive's kind of first look into that sort of choice driven. So you might be wr stuff. it might be to do with being a writer because maybe choose Yeah, you chose, you know, various elements of the story, therefore you would be a writer. Yeah. I've got some of the OG choose your own Adventure books here from Ian Livingston. Hold the for Oh my Godd, fighting fantasy with e Yes!ese bad boys no way. Bro, I used to love those. Ian Livingstone, the G to course foundnder of Games Workshop and also a creator of these. well, one of the creators of these was Steve Jackson. Yeah That's a book about the history there. Yeah, anyway sorry I digress. Johnny these were the originals. None of none of your fancy we are I used to play them in my school library. Oh my god, I love them. Did you cheat? Did you basase used to go to whatever page you wanted to? Maybe Yes, she did, she cheated. Maybe twelve year old me was sometimes a bit like, ye, we can save scum that in real life. I wasn't on those. I was on goo stumps. Oh I used to love you b toooo scary for me s spooky for yours. Yeah. Okay, yeah, I think I'm gonna go with maybe I'll think about it. I'll perc, but I think wrriter is a great showout or some kind of producer or something Great question, Johnny.. The King of the Exy Beasts. Thank you very much for that and we will of course bring you the answer at the end of the episode. Keesa MacDonald is still sitting on top of the pile in first, Imogen Miller then in second, I am in third. Einel is in fourth Amy is in with Shay in tenth place, but I reckon if you get this one right, Amy, I think because of the masgor Yeah. I think you're going to shoot up. Algorithm favors you Yes, Andy No has done great work so we're not going any any word against him. We will bring you the answer to that of course at the end of the episode Right then Let's get into the review. was supposed to it last week, but we got too excited about other things and so we didn't. So just a little pee in the curtain, Benedict Townsend was supposed to back with this week for the review because he is Mr. Bond Um, but but they couldn't Stuff come up couldn't quite make it work. So we will speak with Benedict about this further down the line. donon't panic for all your bond fanatics out there because he is the bond expert. But we've all been playing it So we're going to do a review together. As one in exhibits all. Who would like to go first? So full disclosure, I haven't finished it, I'm not likely to finish it for a couple of weeks.be I think I've played enough of it to be able to give good critiqu. So this will be sp. You play much of it. Yeah. Okay. So this will be a spoiler free review and all of us giving our impressions of what we've played so far. Amy, why you've played the most, I think between the three of us. So why don't we start with you? Yeah. What do you think ten hours in, I absolutely love it. I haven't fallen for a bond game like this since like Nightfire on the PS two. You just said that. producer David set you up for that No Genuinely. No, no, no, no. was mention in the last months they found. Favorite games, abbsolutely fantastic. Sam Cornforth mentioned it. Benedict's mentioned it, Iy's mentioned it. is'ically a month That is a conspiracy ar you producer David. That's classified, I'm afraid. Yeah, it's super exciting to see it in action. I think we've kind of almost got a little bit of fantasy fatigue lately as well because so many of the biggest games over the last few years have been kind of like very fantasy coded. and I think it being so grounded and set in reality is just really refreshing. What I really love and what I think has impressed me most about it is how lived in MI six feels When you're walking around the offices, the NPCs are all having their own conversations. They're all like on the phone asking for interel or they're standing by the water cooler talking about what TV shows they've been watching. It feels really and the office itself is really big. L you can wander around when you're in like Cbe brranch and you're going between The different tables where people are creating experiments, there'll be like an exploding airbag or they' be they start talking at one point about a cigar that causes all your beard and muststache to fall off so that you lose the respect of your men. It' different to an exploding cigar. But all those little moments that make the world of bond feel sort of big and fulfilling, I think is what's really impressed me. Even in the ballroom scene, which again isn't a spoiler because we saw that in the trailer. but when you go to the chess tournament in the hotel There's so many people wearing different outfits and it feels, yeah, I think this is what IO are really good at because they do this really well in the hitmind games too, but making a world feel believable That's one thing that I've really latched onto is that it just feels like immersive as hell I agree with you. it's super immersive and I like the fact because you know, you think of Bond as a bit of a lone wolf, don't you, I suppose, if you sort of consider him in the way he was written and the way he's been portrayed in different types of media. But there is and you touched on it and You feel like you're part of an ensemble cast, don't you? fromr Mononey Penny and and from H and allway Greenway Greenway Oh Greenway Mon. Monroe, all these different characters that you're part of other people you're training as a AO agent alongside. you do feel like you're part of something which I which I really enjoy because even though you I think they' a really good characterization of bonders in terms of, you know, you're a bit of a a bit of a rogue and you do things your own way. but but I enjoy the fact you're part of something. that does make it feel instantly more immersive and I suddenly care more becausecause sometimes Bond is a character Because he's so selfish, he's hard to care about him, but you do care because now his actions impact other people that you've now learned to care alongside if that makes sense. Absolutely. Yeah, I'd agree with that massively. The story is really great and I think it rivals, you some of the best Bond movies. like it's really emotive. And because you're seeing a younger, more inexperienced boond, a boond who hasn't yet earned, you know, the blez. he's very naive, he's very reckless. You can sort of believe in that character a bit more as well and he feels more grounded. I think Bond sometimes can come across as almost like a superhero. Yeah he's a regular guy. But he's not. Yeah, so I've just not long finished the one of the early missions where you are in basically a city that's been created of an oil tanker in Africa And you know you basically essentially have to do a bunch of missions to get to the next level. Now that could so easily feel like a fetch quest center, couldn't it? Yeah whereere you see in other games, okay, go and get this from there, go and find that from there, G and get that from there and A Psto. But each one of the little elements you need to do, which does give you a degree of choice as well feels like very authentic. You might be fighting someone or you'd go to a shooting range or you might steal some Bitcoin of someone or whatever it is It didn't feel like essentially what's a set of fetch quests. I think it's very clever ide know for them to be able to make it so belieelievable, I suppose. I think it's because they they're leaning on their strengths from like the hitman game in terms of giving that player freedom and because there's so many times like I'd play hitman and I'd do one thing and then I'd see my partner play and she do something completely different. And I think that's what they've really leaned on here. And I have to commend like IO because like this is the first time I think I've seen them do in game performance catcher Whereas before it was always they had like like pre rendered cutscenes and things like that in between missions on their previous games. This is the first time like IOS really kind of lent into the performance capture side of things, like hired some like like some like eight in like actors to be involved. and that's and I think that's what really draws you to bond, I guess because of like as Amy was saying, all the surrounding characters is absolutely fantastic Um Obviously Lenny James as Greenway. It's like it's there's there's a relationship there where he's like he doesn't hate him, but like he has to tolerate him. And and like he and his recklessness is is what angers him because of he's used to work in a certain way, but then this guy comes in It's just swelling around and everyere Yeah Yeah. And's getting pretty doneun in his own way. Yeahah. and it's like, oh, and I like that I like that kind of the dynamics in the relationship with those characters. And also it's nice to see so many like British actors that like I've bumped into in my journey in the game as well. There's like so many amazing like actors Anthony Howell who plays Nicholas Webb, like he's a fantastic actor, like I consider a friend. then he's And it's great to see like I was so happy to see his name on the opening title secrets. I'm like o, that's gas to have your name on like a Jamespond like like opening. It' like credits. How cool is that? L. That's amazing. Yeah' like the song's great. The song's great I think they really They've really pitched it well. I they've picked an interesting like you know an origin story sort of thing, which I think is really good. In terms of how it plays I mean, I I think the The hit barness of it, the stealth side of it, the way you can try and bluff I think is really is really good. I like I really enjoy the way that they've integrated the gadgets into things, the things you can do with your watch, whether you're stunning people or making them ill or whatever So that stuff's really good. Some of the bits where it gets really shooty I think is when it's getet a little clunky For me. there's a Yeah. there's a scene early on or one of the ear one of the I think it's at the end of the first mission It' try to be spoiler free here. so You end up on a plane, you got to get to a plane and you' got to go through a bunch of mercenaries to get there. Yeah I found that bit. compared to how good and slick the rest of it was a bit. oh, okay Yes, I do agree. The cover system I think needs a little bit of work. I think there are moments where you feel as though like I'll go to snap between cover and it should be something quite seamless. Like they've kind of nailed that like we were talking about Spllinter cell before, right? That was something I remember being quite smooth. Maybe if I went back now, it wouldn't be, but there are moments where I'll tap R one and it feels like Bond kind of runs in a little circle and then settles back behind or something And that kind of breaks the immersion a little bit for me in that moment because I think, well, you know, what's he doing? And the amount of times I've tutted and I've kind of gone James, like he's my child. know like God. James, you're embarrassing me. But yeah, he does definitely there are moments of the gunfire and the gunplay that don't feel quite as slick as the rest And I do find myself it took me a while to get to grips with the combat hand hand I think just in terms of there's a tutorial bit that you do early, isn't there where you're supposed to like completely different like you're supposed to trial the rush mechanic, for example, so that you can hold on. you run against someonening against someone. That took me a while to kind of really understand what he was doing and where he throws his enemies. because there's a challenge, I think in one of the attacks him missions, it might even be, where you have to like throw one enemy into another. That took me a while to master. And you want to feel like James Bond, right? You want to feel like the power fantasy is there. You want to be able to do all these maneuvvers and not be kind of thinking, right? square, square, R two, like it just shouldn't feel clunky. But yeah, I think that's the only place really where But then comees to think of it after the mission that you do when you're in Egypt, I think it is, that's when the gunplay settled a bit more for me and I started to lean more into. I do like the L two it might be L two or L two, but when you no, sorry, L three when you press in the joystick, you can like slow down everything and that focus thing feels quite cool. It's the max p. It's the max p. It's the a dead mechanic, isn't it? I really like the Fistic cuffs. I like how like chaotic it can be and then the fact that you're just picking up different things Things are flying all over the place. Yeah' like it's quite hard. The environment is great because you enironment into things. and so often I've accidentally like kicked a lad into a generator and then he's got electrocuted and I've just s stood there like o Oh go, I't quite know I did that. So yeah, I think yeah, the environment is really cool. smashing windows, breaking tables. It's veryisceral isn't it Yeah I like the claimbing and the traversing I know. It's not quite this assass's crereed, but it's pretty if feels pretty like when you're claiming up you know, pipes or hanging on ledges and stuff that feels that feels really satisfying, especially when you do that to sneak up in behind someone and we've done it a million times in stealth game where you sneak up in the window, you go behind the guys you knock him out and then you then you, you know, you're on I do really enjoy all that works. And I am looking forward to playing it more U which I think is a good sign that I'm like trying to I'm trying to find time to fit it in my. Do you think u I has been so successful that there will be more So I do. I think they would be especially given the model of which they do hitman, because they do the elusive targets, because they do so much DLC and they constantly keep that franchise so well fed I can see them expanding on this and I can does that mean we're not going to get no more hitmen? Oh I don't know. I mean, I hope not. I hope that that is something they can balance together. But I can see them supplementing bond with missions sort of ad hoc missions the same way they do here, Maam. Yeah. It's interesting because I'd heard that Amazon were unsure because when they took over the rights to bond, right Amazon were unsure about the game side of it. And actually if you're going to real launch bond and have a new bond or whatever, why would why would you have a project with a different character in a different world? It doesn't make sense to tie those things together. But I think it's gone down so well and it's been so successful that I kind of think it's sort of here as a bit of a And aside from as you basically do the prequels to Bond or the early part of his career with this bond Maybe and then whoever they cast it depends. So if you cast a young actor to be the Bond, the new Bond Does I don't know, it gets missed it gets missed. That's why I I was like that's why I was shocked that they weren't publishing it. I was like, o, I was like Amazon is like, they're not putting their money behind this know prodroucer David was a big bond guy. He just said the brocolies, which is the family course that ran James Bond for ages was a Bara Brocoli, B producer for so long They'd worked on this creatively, but this was their last involvement on a bond sort of project creatively. I think you can feel that. you can feel there's a lot of learearnings from the writings. I've listened to some audioobooks of Stephen Fleming's original writings of Bond and you feel the character feels very part of the bond that we know and love in a way that is of twenty twenty six as well. That's what I quite like about it. There's a lot of things with Bond that are sort of more archaic and I think they've brought that even in the way of like some of the gadgets as well, because this is a modern know modern story it set as far as I'm aware in like the sort of relatively present day, you're seeing gadgets that We've probably never really seen properly in like the classic Bond films. we're seeing smartphone stuff, you know, we're seeing sort of things that are like Much more sort of high tech. One thing I do love is just how well they kind of explain it all. because it doesn't feel like magic. It feels like tech you don't understand. But even like in regards to like the taxim, you know, thatem Gemma Chan, viously, she's in she's brilliant. like even with regards to that, like they explain it all in the story. They're kind of like, this is how it works, like you climb on in there and then you sudly're in a simulation. And it's those sort of things that just make it feel, yeah, that little bit more like this could be a thing. Like if you said this was happening underneath the houses of Parliament, I would be like, yeah, fair. What could you? I do wish it was a little bit harder or there was more consequences though I get why it it's built the way it is, but like There's like there's moments where it's like, I'd never get away without that in hitman. Whereas if this is like, o yeah I'm right next to a guy fools over and I just walk past and then everybody elses like, Yeahah, that's cool. Do you know what that never happen in Hitman. was like It would never happen in Hitman. Yeah. This is something that I think no game has ever really fully nailed. I'm waiting for the day that it is nailed, but like I don't know if you agree I know, but like the thought of guards being super, I almost want it to be that they will like actually look for you in an unpredictable way. Yeah love it. Yeah. I mean, in Metal Gear Solid, they used to be like, and I love metal gear, but they used to like walk over to an explosion and get shot one at a time and to the point where they were all just kind of jamming the door. And you'd still get a guy like, Oh, must have been the wind. It think I think for me, like a slightly different type of game, but like I think the Last ofs Part two did it best for me in terms of like the AI how they hunt for you, how they start shouting around Jason go around the corner and then you said Jason was. And then like and then the whistles in the grass And fishing in the grass and the whistles. I think like for me, that's been the standard Yeah. like how like how to that's the best I've seen it done and no one's kind of beating it and it's nearly been ten years. I agree. Yeah. I think that's a really good example. They also make you feel bad, don't they? They're like someone shot the dog You know So remind me that I shot the dog. I didn't want to shot the dog. You got to do it. You gott to do it. You shot the dog. I think this game is for people who want to have want to a bit of escapism who obviously like single play games and will s I want to immerse themselves in in the James Bond fantasy. I don't think it's necessary for people who really like U shooting stuff up. like I think I think there is elements of that. there are moments of it, but I think you are trying, I think the game does a good job of making you try to play like James Bond. because normally if there's, you know, in the games previously, if there's a stealth option or shoot the place up option, I always just shoot the place up because you know I'll start off two minutes stealth and then're like the first guy, this is taking too long screw it. hereere come the grenades. You know, it's like But at this time I am wanting to convince the guy that actually I do I do belong around and I will turn on the little hoover to get the to get the guy to go around the corner. do you know what I mean? Yeah. I will say like I think the the trailer like the the Ls trailer doesn't good job of showcasing old You can play in a kind of stealthy kind of way. It's very bombastic, very big, big explosions, shooting guns, falling out planes. And so like I'm not sure I'm not sure it's been marketed in one kind of way, but like you can play the game in a different way as well. Yeah, I had a real buzz when again, it's North Spos, but in the first in the first mission you place and it's one of the early decisions you have to make I'd rebu claim Well, um no, I literally buzz when I when I nick the when I nick that dude's press pass. Oh that was was like Oh, look at me, I'm sneaking in. I'm a remmember the press, you know because obviously there was multiple ways to get into that into that tourament, but like I went that way, it was like, Oh, look at me, that's cool of doing. How did you do it? I know? How did you get it in Oh, take the pass. What you talking about getting the camera and stuff? Yeah, or did you ' you can climb through the window, cann't you? I wanted climb through the window was an option.. I love that though. yeah. Did you pretidend to be a photographer, ye, is that you guys? do the Jade thing again Yeah, exactly Fny ening you seeing how hard it was. I actually find it quite I to re I had to redo bits quite a few times, which I find usually a bit frustrating, but I've not minded it much this year and this time. So So I think I think it's for v. peopleeople who want want a bit of immersion, one a bit of escapism And if you've played and loved Hitman then clearly this is, you know this is going to be for you. It's got a metac crritic score of eighty seven. I think it's gone down broadly very positive. V good every played with it. Yeah. And the fact that it came out in this little Window of time pre GTA I think is just glorious for it. Lest we forget it would have been very close to GTA had GTA have kept its original release date. Yeah ye, which would have been interesting to see how all lot of that changed. So you can get it is expensive Mine it's sixtyQid on Steam, PS store in the Xbox store. You can get a fifty five Qid in games, Smith Tys have got a deal on as well fifty quid an hour Gos. Interesting, I wonder Becauseuse we haven't finished yet. It's somewhere between twenty and thirty hours. Now for me, that's fine. I'm totally cool with that, right? But I wonder if some people who finished it. Yeah. And even that's pushing it, right? I've been train journeing some Cardiff in yesterday. But I wonder if like for some people that's not going to be enough. and I wonder therefore, you know, if there will be more content coming down the pipeline or if they do need to say to eight people who want I think they'll definitely be DLC. It's definitely going be DLC. Yeah, absolutely. I wouldn't be surprised if they do off the back of the success of it, make another game. And I think you guys might be right. I think maybe they'll start this sort of era as the young Bond prequel era and then maybe if the next bond, when it's revealed to be whichever one of you is hiding it currently, that you're the next bond they will then put that in the new game and then we'll kind of go away from from there So ye whichich one of you would make the best bondies? We've signed NDA of afraid Ay we. Sorry. ye, it's fine fine. I tried. We can't blame a girl for trying to get an exclusive. Oition, but Riz armed beat me s We can't I can't confirm or deny been never been a Wels never been a Welh bond. There's never been a Welh p bond just saying, Ohh wait, actually I actually know that's lie. is was doll Tree Welsh Yeah Timothy Dalton who isn Timothy Dalt,or Timyim I I think he was he might be in worse actually, so I take it all back. Right, talking of GTA being out later on this year and you nudged and touched on this last week as well, Amy. September is Oh boy. like Yeah, Timothy Dalton is from Corwyind Bay. so he is Welsh. So Tim, I am terribly sorry I take it all back. There has been a Welsh bomnd Um So yeah, September, all the games basically are they' trying to come out in September or they're trying to come out in February to get away from no games of Christmas because it's all going be GTA GT GTA. Here are some of the games coming out in twenty twenty six, September. We've got Marvels, Wolverine, There's a big update to Runescape, Fire Ebleland, Fort Tunes Weave Warhama forty thousand Dawn of War four, Don Awakening, Controll Resonant, Silent Hill Townfall, Minecraft Dungeons, two, Hot wheels Infinite Rush. and I could go on Like just Do we feel bad for the people that are making the games? Do we feel bad for people who want to play them? Do do we feel bad at all? or actually this is just this is the way it is. I think do you know what it is? I think there's the games are different enough for them to have their own audiences And because gaming is so massive now, There There's audiences for all those games and they will be fine. But I think the issue is most of these especially the bigger companies, they want all the audience and all the money. And I think that's where the issue kind of comes in Because like fire Emblem fans don't care about like GTA and stuff like that. They're there for Fire Emblem. They're going to be there day one. I think I think the spepecial edition is already sold out within like like like ten minutes of them, Nintendo put it online. It's almost like like b five. And there's going be lots of games like that, like Silent Hill the same way. It's very different style of game to GTA. but Still, everyone's still scared because they want all the money. Yeah Absolutely. Now there is that risk of them cannibalizing each other, I think. That's the problem. I think it's more of an issue. Like at the end of the day, we don't have enough time to play what's on our backlog now. Do you know what I mean?ike There's no chance for us to play everything that's going to come out. No one really, I think, goes into a month going. I've got to play absolutely everything that's out this month. I mean maybe some people do I for one, tend to pick one and stick with it because I don't have that much time. But I think in general, it's more a concern for the companies. like Eino's absolutely right. There's not a huge amount of crossover, but some of them, I think there might be, like the blood of Dorm Walker coming out so close to like a game like what's the one that's coming out sort of later on U I'm sure there was another one that's more sort of fantasy based. Maybe I' forot which one that one is, but like there's quite a few that are big open world On Muse of the weave of the su. Oush. Yeah.' like blood Don Walker and Onie Musse, I would think they could potentially have a bit of a clash. L Fire Emblem's a great shout. That's a very like set audience. A game like Orbitals, which it looks amazing by the way. H I seen Orbitals? Oh my go. the third. Don't you worry, I'm al there. It's. Oh my go, it's so excitited. It's literally, I'm not surprised I know. It looks like it takes two, but like anime. it's oh, it's so, so cool. eighties anime eighties anime. Exactly. But yeah, I do worry, personally I worry for control Because contontrol resonident has always been Remedy are, I mean, they're among my favourite sort of game developers. I think they're absolutely fantastic, but they are on the more vulnerable side of that September traffic jam because they have always been sort of more on the niche side anyway. And those games need a breathing window, I think, to really kind of hit So I do worry that something like resonant is going to slip through the cracks a little bit partarticularly when you've got things like Wolverine and Blood of Done Walker out the same time. Yeah, I think look if you'reing if you're buying three or four big games a year, you might Marvel's Wolverine would probably have fallen into your sort of into that sort of category of games of the audience that they might be chasing might be someone that does do ApleA games. Probably So if you' bought if you've bought bond, if you've bought if if you're going to buy callall of duty or whatever And GTA. Wolverine is the one I think that actually is a bit at risk. There's funny is look. Isn't ges coming around the same time as? that's a good question. I C of duty Yeah. C d is October. So you know, isn't it? Yeah. Yeah, it's gonna to come out before call of duty. So it must be around September. When is it released d? hang about all the four sixixth of october, twenty twenty six. Yes, you got g go Gars as well. September, early October is going to be intense So I think I think what I would say to people is just try and plan, you know, if you're thinking know, there's so many games I want to play. I'm not be able to do all of them. youre not we're not going to be able to do all of them. No. So I think we just kind of make make just plan it. I think I'll probably play the Dawn of warar game because it'll be a total pallte cleanser between that and there be a new Martin around that time as well between that and GTA because don't I don't think I want to be playing a third person I know it's a different type of game, but a third person adventure title, whether it's an RPG or an action game or a role playing game like GTA is going to be or whatever That's going to be quite a similar experience. I wouldn't want to go from Bond to GTA, even though they're different games Your viewpoint is the same that you're still using your control in the same sort of way. So I want a pallte cleanser. I think a strategy game like Done of War four could be that pallet cleanser Totally. yeah, I completely agree. I think Silent Hill will probably be okay just because horror fans are froth in the mouth at the moment for anything like that. And I think we've had Resi so far from that, obviously earlier in the year, Resi nine. So I think that one would be okay. yeah, I totally agree with the P pallte cleanser thing. I'm glad it's just me because I'm always like, I've played this kind of game now. now I need something different Yeah I've played golf story. now I'm playing first lightight. You know this is this is the duual. I think the big issue is because game is getting more more and more expensive the issue is In previous years people probably would have been able tofford two or three of them. Yeah now it's just the one And I think that's where a lot of Developers and publishers are worried because they know that like they probably would love that their particular product. It's just that if it's close to all the others, are they going to spend that money? Yeah specially if GTA as expected costs more than Y average game. What do we pay for Mario Mario Kart World Tour seventy five, right So I think I think GT is probably I mean we've said it's a food test but I think it's be hard. I don't think it' be c. I think the base price is going to be fine. But I think the collectors' editions and the special editions are the ones everyone's gonna to want I feel that I feel that's Let us know how are you preparing for that back end of the year? Are you not even thinking about it? Are you actually being you know being bit savvy? pututting a couple of quit away every week or whatever? What are you what are you doing? How How are you thinking about it? Thoughts, tips, advice all welcome. Right The big question from today's show is where Ill produers scheme and come up with a question based on what we've been talking about And the question is this, you've been immersed in first lightight And suddenly you're starting to see the real world with your cQ lens What real world situation are you going to sneak into next and how are you going to avoid being spotted Well, I mean Glastonbury I'm gonna I'm absolutely gonna infiltrate Blast. Jamy's hop in the fence. C. And then hitting that bluff button I know. So they're like, where are you? And I'm like, Ken Bs penetration tester. let me in. Where's your band Exactly. I lost it actually, but I'm here on behalf of official MI six business. Oh wow. Yeahah, I would do Glastonbury, but I think what c you gadget? Oh, I don't know. You gotta make one of the steward sick with that little poison dart and then he runs to the toilet and then you sneak him behind him. Absolutely. Yeahah. I wouldn't want to hurt anyone. I'd probably use that or a smoke bomb And then I'd just go through the barriers like I'm smalking my way to actually make a really fun game speaking at a festival I mean you have to hide in the crowd. Yeah. You have to blend in and you have to move through the merch standance and everything. like the final level, you're playing drums on stage with Oh the band part of the band Go and then go play drumsZ in. Okay, fine. I can play drums.'s great escalation guys. If we know any indndie deems, please make that game. I would then of a sudden you've got to get your rock hero kit out from two thousand whenever it was and you'd actually gott to play drum along with the song I actually have rock band the entire kit right now. I'm looking at this in the living room because Rck band sry guitarand. Oh nice. I listen to this othertherwise it's all ruined but never Bleve forur this bit. I think I'm smokeboring my way into the World Cup because some of the tickets are quite price same, so I think I'm gonna try. You gota get on the flight first Right. Okay. so time to answer our trivia question. Let's see where the leaderboard looks like after this. Iel could leapfrog me if he gets this right. Oh I have no idea. So the gameplay mechanic in the inpatient, which is a prequel to the until dawn games is a VR prequel Hard the developers crediting you with the player. in the end credit, but why What was a gameplay mechanic that led them to crediting you in the credits at the end of the game? I'm saying that you are down as a writer because you had chose the story along multiple choice. lines. That's what I'm saying.ight Yeah. So that's the most that's mechanic isn't? think the mechanic is the multi choice, okay. M mechanic is the mult the yeah is the options I'm going for like Uh, like audios Maybe you had to speak something into the mic and then it got played out in the game. And so you get credited as an actor I don't know That's an actor answer from an actressor. I'm an act actor. Yeah that makes sense Yeah Yeahah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, ye I love that. Okay, I think Oh, and it's definitely nothing to do with the VR because you said before, steps not it's not to do with the VR Right, okay It happens to be a VR game because King of the Exy beasts Johnny VR Jny who put the questions in is is I mean, there's a clue in in Johny's hand title isn't it Yeah Maybe it's to do with otion I mean, the motion track stuff I'm gonna to go with Steh on this one because I now piggybacked with me last time and managed to get to four in the leader booard. so I'm gonna piggy with Stef and say it's the multi choice thing that I think So I'm saying you're credited as right right that Amy saying the same and I know, you'reing you're credited as a performer basically. And the answer is this, it's down to the voice control when it comes So And you could read the dialogue and act out the story yourself to progress. As a result, you are credited on the cast list. That is so good No I put the ass in it. You the it like casually as well. you were like Mbe game is. Yeah I've never heard of the game. Wow. So no interestnterestingly, prodroucer David has given us all the point for that for being credited as being on the cast list so all on it you think I think that's lean and I think O INel I think On INel got that right. I think technically O INel, but I mean if you're ging them out, like sweet, Dave. I mean So yeah, On INelL is gonna get that, whichich means I think Iel you're probably gonna leapfrog me here, which is actually It was thanks to the clue because it wasn nothing to do with VR. I was thaking of Yeah what else What else could you do? And I thought voice was almost too far in the other way Yeah no f I know It means under the Yes Andy Nor system, Amy you're down to eleventh. I've dropped down to fourth and I think Ael now moves up to third place in the leader booard. Congratulations I know.
