The weak in Bible prophecy. Prophecy Watchers podcast Hello everyone. Welcome to the podcast. Today we're going to be talking with Carlos Skbar about his book Evolution, The Devil's in the details. And before we do, we just want to remind everybody of a couple things that we are going to be having a prophecy conference in Alaska And I know many of you have written in and kind of described that as being on a bucket list item So consider joining us. It's going to be august twenty second through the twenty ninth And we are going to be sailing out of Seattle and then Billy Crohn will be there. LllA. Marilli Matt Freeman, myself and Lee Brainnard. And so we'll be talking about prophecy on the trip as well as just sitting around and relaxing. And enjoying God's creation is pretty phenomenal. So you can go to prophecywrers. com and check it out if you want information on that. Also, keep on your calendar. reallyally, I would call it our big confference of the year. is going to be in Branson, Missouri, december tenth through the thirteenth And that's going to be a great time. I think we're going to have twenty five speakers there So Brandon's a great time It's a great time of the year to be in Branson because of the way that because the hotel They decorate it pretty good. And so we're going to have a great time there with speakers. You can again, go to prophecywatchers. com, go to our events page and check it out. But the question we want to discuss today is the Bible says quite clear that we are entering the end of the age and that one of the first things that Jesus says is Let no man or anybody else deceive you. So deception is going to be high on the list and we're talking to Carlos so welcome, Carlos. Thank you. Thankks for having me Yeah. And for those that might not know you, maybe give a little biography about who you are, what you've done, and how you've come to write this book on really the schemes and And the the The machinations, I would say of the way that the devil works here Thank you again. So I'm Carl Skibar. I lived in Southern California my whole life. I just retired from the fire Service after thirty two years. It was an amazing career, awesome. I'm so blessed to have been have gone through The education, the training, running calls, running fires is just a great group of people there. So it was awesome. I had a great time. But that's so I didn't really retire, I guess, I'm reassigned now, right? So I have a family of four. There's four of us, my wife, my two children. We're very active. We We do a lot of ocean sports. so we're always in the water, whether it's fishing, surfing, scuba diving, canoeing, that all that fun stuff. So I spent A lot of time on education I have a masters in Biblical studies. I have a PhD in psychology And have I went back to school recently to get my American history degree, master's in history. becausecause I have I guess a newfound love for history, so it's very interesting to me. I'm still new at it, but it's amazing. So yeah, that's one of things I appreciated. is your desire to understand no doubt how The world has worked, historically, but also, you know, again, your education in psychology, mayaybe unpack that. what led you, you know you have Bible, what caused you to go get a PhD in psychology. I mean, that's a pretty serious endeavor. So fortunately, the degree in psychology was Christian based. so it was from a different perspective. and I wanted to kind of change know, because most of my early education was fire service, fire service stuff. It was, you know emergency medicine and it was, you know, fire control type of it was command and control type classes. So I kind of wanted to change it completely just to get a different perspective. And it gave me a different perspective on Just thinking differently, right? Because I wasn't used to the same stuff. So that's what kind of encouraged me to continue my education, but also get different in different aspects. which helped me write the book because I kind of brought all those together.. And one thing I learned about psychology, which was very interesting was I believe back in the fifteen hundreds, psychology meant something different, right? Psychology Psyche, the word is means soul. So back then it was study of the soul Like Satan's tactics and his deception, he's changed to study of the mind And which is kind of interesting because I think it backfired on it because now it's There's a lot of focus on the mind and that's the battle for. The battfield right now is of the mind. Yeah yeah, when we think about the mind, it it's Again, a lot of what you've written here is just reminds me of what I studied in the screwtape letters with thesS the was. It's interesting there too that as I wrote the study guide for that book, took me many many years. and I would talk to people. I would teach it, you know, at church And I would say, hey, you know, we're going to do a study on the screw tape letters and Many people like, oh, no, no, I don't do any demonology stuff. And I'm like No, it's not it's not a book on demonology.. you know CS Lewis It's really a book on human temptation. And it has so much psychology in there because he's analyzing the way that humans behave And he's also analyzing u the way that we interact with each other. And so But he puts it in a framework of a spiritual framework. and it's fictional. So I mean it's a fictional book. So I try to typ not it's not scary. It's talking about how you reacted to so and so in this particular It talks about unselflishness. What does that mean? What does that look like And but what I did is kind of like what you what you did is I said, Well And all these these angles that the enemy takes, they're in the Bible. And so we can bring all the theology. I remember, again, I quoted over a thousand scriptures in there, just to say, look, the way the enemy works, the temptation is real. how do we deal with it? But what I find is that And maybe I can ask you this is, do you find too, that the typical Christian doesn't really want to learn more about this or doesn't isn't drawn to it or it doesn't think it's real. I mean, they seem like sitting ducks. Wh do that Well you know,, it's always fear of the unknown, right? And that's exactly where Satan wants to you So from what I see in my circles is there's a little bit of a laziness and there's a little bit of apathy, right? There's there's, you know, I don't know and I don't care. And which is very bad. which is one of the other reasons why I wrote this is because I wanted to really, really come from the angle of you know, not just not just from the eye of U L like from I don't want to say I from not from an Ie from the Bible because I want to say more of a different angle, right? So a different angle from history from from from social, right from psychology. So you know I kind of want to bring it from a different perspective rather than just because a lot of people, if you say the Bible, they're like, yeah, they kind of I do every Sunday and you know, type of thing. And so The book is more of a battle cry, a battle call to get back in the word, especially for men, you know, we're leaders and we need to step up. And there's a reason why our society is where it is. is because men aren't stepping up. And so for me, I had a burden in my heart to I need to wake people up with this So far, I've been getting some really good interaction from people and actually it's a blessing to me to hear that how it's changing them and the way they're looking at what's going on. I think that's one of the fascinating things about it is. and I think let's jump in a little bit because You talked about setting the stage of a book that you had read recently, Left of the Bang. And I find that Fascinating in that You know, we all watch these shows You know, these thrillers, whatever it might be. Jason Bourne movies and all these these highly trained indivuals. Maybe it's mission impossible, etcetera But these highly trained individuals, they they're maybe in a in a in a in a hotel or they're in a public place and They're analyzing everything. They're walking in, they're like, okay that guy's got that. that guy's over here. There's three exits here. How can I get out? And so but that tells you though that that person is highly trained and equipped to be on guard against any threats So if you haven't read Left of Bang, it's a great book for worldly events, right? So it kind of prepares you for the hopefully the hopefully prepares you if you're paying attention to prevent an attack or at least prevent yourself from being part of that attack Or maybe you can do something about the attack, right? whetather than saying S What was a say something, S something, say something. This is more of a say something, do something. rightight So basically that book talks about identifying and recognizing warning signs before an attack, right? Now how can we do that in our spiritual world? Well, talking about the worldly, you know the worldly and the spiritual world have a lot, a lot of things in common. and there's things that we can learn. So there's six domains of observable behaviors, right One is called kinesis, and that's your body language. So when you're at a restaurant, like kind of what you mentioned earlier, you how is everybody kind of acting the same? they kind of is everything within normal limits, right Are people making physical movements? Are they nervous fidgeting there's something going on. So it's important, especially with your family, you want to protect your family, You want to make sure and it's easiy for us as first responders because that's how're trained. We're always trained for that. Even as firemen, we get attacked also. So There's things that we look for It's a hpervigilance that we're trained with. So I've had a wonderful opportunity to go through many classes on that with real life training and You Senaro type training, so I'm sharing that with you. so The second is called biometrics, right? Biometrics is physiological response. and what that is it's It's looking looking at at conditions, right? L at the person's skin, looking at their skin color, their They're heavy breathing. what's going on with the person itself, right? Is there something that that's biometrically occurring with them. Those are things to look out for. There's also something called proxemics And that's body positioning, right? A lot of times if somebody has a weapon on their side, right? they're going they're going to kind of favor one side and kind of you know hide that side type of thing, right. So you want to look for those kind of things And they're also overtly interested So they're kind of like looking at their target a lot, looking at their target, looking around and then looking at their targets. So those are the things you want to look for. There's something called geographics. That's your environmental relationship. So it's interacting with a specific environment. So sometimes people try to interact fakely You know, like you know just something something's awful It's not making sense. Theyre they're they're over overly reacting or acting. So there's something called iconology or I'm sorry iconography Those are symbols or affiliations. and a lot of times, you know people wear rainbow stuff or propure sure ye. you know, so, you know, you kind of kind of kind of look back and what's their motivation and why are they here? So And then there's atmospherics Atmospherics is an environmental mood and that's your collective mood. It's a shift mood. So if you You know there's that feeling that somethingomething's not right in the room, Well, then you need to find out. that might be the Holy Spirit telling you something, right So those are some those are some things that you can always kind of have in the back of your head. And again, it's hard. you're not always going to be you know, especially out with a familyre not going to be like that. But just kind of give it, give it an initial An the sweep of the room before you sit down and What I did is kind I kind of transferred that into the spiritual, right? What's our spiritual left of bang framework So a spiritual Kes six would be relational posture, right What physical and emotional response do we take toward our God? And second, Timothy four, three through four, it says for the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching. Is that happening today? Yeah Here we are ye. Its happens all the time and willll turn away from listening to the truth Do not turn your back away from the truth. You know, Pilot did, right? Pil Pot had the truth standing right in front of him and he didn't recognize it. So how much more is it for us right too? Yeah He had the opportunity for sure. and there he was, you know, when Jesus says to him, you know, you know, or you know, the truth and he says, well, you know, what is truth kindind of a you know, mocking skeptical philosophical reminder, but there you have it personified in front of him. And you're not going to know truth unless you No, truth. And what's the biggest barrier barrier of truth is a presumption that you have it. Yeah, exactly. Right. So staying in the word is huge and it is important. Staying humble. I find that the case when it comes to When it comes to temptation, pride is such a huge thing and pride is multifaceted. it's It's that's crafty. He want to say about pride super super crafty The way the enemy uses it Exactly. And that's what got Satanicked out of heaven, right and then there's spiritual biometrics. that's internal and psychological symptoms of those uncontrollable internal shifts affecting the mood And second Timothy one seven for God gave us not a spirit of fear, but of power and love and self control. seelf control versus giving away to demonic entry. So, you know, you got to you got to choose your side every day. Are you going to have self control orre you going to give yourself up to what' what's unnatural? I think that's important too because, you know, self control is one of the fruit of the spirit, you know, in Galations chapter five. And so you have the whole idea that if we walk in the sppirit, we will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. Gans five sixteen. But I find it interesting that that one of the things that we don't walk in the sppirit is having that self control and discipline even and denying ourselves. I think that's why, you know, again, even going back to Stue tape letters, there's a whole section on fasting. And I remember talking to a brother and I was talking about fasting and he goes, man, I've never denied myself anything in my entire life. Yeah. He's like forty. I'm like you never fasted. And he goes, No, if I wanted some, I'd got it. And I think it's interesting that getting in the habit of denying the flesh gets into the habit of controlling the flesh, which emotions, et cetera, all those things, and we begin to to master them by the sppirit rather than the other way around. The whole bottom line is leadership, right? Or Can you lead yourself? Can you lead yourself? Yeah? You need to learn how to lead yourself with discipline before you lead others. And as men of God, we should be doing that in our homes and with those around us. So kind of a little side note, I don't know if you heard recent You know there's a lot of you here, a lot of young men are coming back to church. You've heard that and it sounds good. but there's something else behind that too, which is very interesting is I heard this the other day Th that are coming back to church are going back to churches that have authority type figures, right? And what the message being across getting across is that these young men do not want to go to churches with pastors that have skinny jeans and and the smoke and all this stuff. they're going to Catholic churches and they're going to churches that have the authority figure because they're looking for leadership. Looking for leadership. And that's a huge reason why we have the problems we have today because we don't havere lookingking for strong.ooking for strength and conviction. Yes. Clarity. Yes. Rather than again, let's adapt like you said, some of the someome of the pastors who are adapting themselves to the culture so much that they don't see that as as they see as being compromised, I imagine. Compromised. Yeah. Sos that's amazing too, where you have the maybe young men who they don't necessarily they might even know why they're looking for this, but yet it's drawn to them. Exactly. Something that's standing against the grain or against the flow. definitely it's eye opening. Spiritual proximics is the next one. It's isolation and boundaries. How do you position yourself socially in a relationship relationally within your faith in your community, arere you that leader, right Proverbs eighteen one, where whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire, he breaks out against all sound judgment It's important for the Christian not to be isolated either right? Because that's when that's when when evil lurks in really easy when you're by yourself, right? You know you don't have that accountability sometimes too. So Ncause prride. I mean, accountability is the opposite. Pide. You don't want it. L like you said P properber' eighteen, rage against you rage against sound wisdom I got it, I got it, I got it I don't or I don't need anybody. Exactly. And that's man, talk about Satan justote reeling that person in. Is there's that I don't know if you heard the term called battbudy Youve heard of Battle Budy before you know, you need to find those strong men or if you're a woman, women around you too you know, help help for accountability and strength. definite need that. And then we will to say, hey, look, hey bro, you're deceiving yourself here. Yeah and truth tellerers Yeah. Yeah exactly I love you. you know, I love you, but I thinkre you're convincing yourself of this and that and that you can handle on your own. And of course, the response you know, somebody saying that to you is I don't see it Well, that's the key of humility is saying, well What are they saying that I'm not 'cause we all have blind spots, You know we all have those things and that's important. Yep, ye. And those truth tellers will definitely help you out with that, right. Spiritual geographics, how do you react with physical and digital environments? Acts nineteen nineteen says And the number of these who practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the cite of all You know, gravitate towards worship and study in scripture instead of, you know, get off those devices. I know it's, you know social media and you know, isn't it funny, how when you're looking down it looks like you're praying, right? So who's your God? You gott to choose your God, Eespecially for time. you think about how much time you know we spend on something that'll be an indicator of many things. And spiritual iconography, right? Those are deceptive ideologies. What are you positioning yourself with? What kind of symbols do you have? What kind stuff do have on your shirts? What are you wearing? You know, those are those are Those are things you need to be careful because a lot of that' wchcraft too. And the last one is Spiritual atmospherics. What is the spiritual climate in your life? First Samuel sixteen fourteen says now the spirit of the Lord departed from Saul and a harmful spirit from the Lord tormented him So whenphere when an atmosphere shifts from peace to disorder and confusion the environment is compromised you need to be aware of that. So Again, one of my biggest pushes in this book is preparation, right? Al always be ready, stay ready so you don't have to get ready is the term that I use in this book. Yeah, I mean, you see this often too where in normal warfare You know, your're training you know, we're even sports, you know, youre like, okay, we're going to go for the championship game But by the time you get to the championship game, if you've earned it You've practiced every scenario. I mean, I played a lot of sports growing up and you know, even as a coach, I coach soccer and I'm like, okay, we're going to be in this scenario. It's going to happen. but I want you girls, you know I coach my daughter's soccer team And many of them have never played soccer before. I'm like, listen, I'm going to set it up. This is what you're going to see. But then when it happens, you're going to be like, oh, I know exactly what I need to do. it's second nature. But I think in the same way, from the spiritual perspective, because we're not reading the scripture And we're not seeing the battles going on there then when they happened, we don't recognize, oh Jesus had the same temptation. Exactly. And this is how we responded And that's that's that's why another, you know, I come from a different angle also I come from There's tons of, I mean, it's funny because there's so many examples the in history that we can relate to that even recent history that their're patterns, right? So it's interesting I brought this up earlier You know, in the Greek mind, right? when when you study prophecy, right, it's prophecy then it's fulfillment. right? In the Hebrew mind, it's pattern. prophecy is pattern, If you look at the Bible, it's just pattern. It's the same stuff happening and happening and happening, right That's the same that happens today. even even in history, right? You see the same evil regimes that are coming through you know, the types of antichrist, right that are coming through, coming through. and then, you know, it's not their time, but it's the same thing. So if you if you can you can predict patterns, right? And if you study If you educate yourself, you're going to see those patterns just like we're seeing today. Well, I find that absolutely fascinating because Even in our modern culture, we see a lot of the antiemitism that's happening around the world and yet It's pretty common now for people to say, this is exactly what Europe looked like, you in the nineteen forties. And And you see the same pattern coming in, but yet, you know, going back to nineteen forty You know, what do we sixty, eighty years out? eighty years out. and so the people who are alive today, they don't know history So the cycle can come back and Satan can use the exact same playbook because people don't know history and therefore they're unaware that, hey, this is exactly what has happened. But yet I was talking with a woman who she was raised in Russia and she's older And she during especially during COVID She was like she's an American citizen now, but she again, she wasn't raised here. She and she was she was so frustrated because she said, why can't Why don't people see what's happening here? This is exactly what wass happening to us and the control and the censorship and all these things. And she was just shocked We didn't understand history Well, even even parts of the United States, what I've noticed is, you know, taking classes in different places is You know, if you go to the east cooast or, you know, mainly like Washington, Virginia, those are those areas there. is they know history because theyve As kids they played on the battlefield. Yeah. So thats that's one section of America that probably knows a little more history obviously than we do because they're in it. of American history. Yeah American history, right? So But there' some there's some I have a couple examples here of What they call the quQueen of heaven, right? So if you don't know who the queen of heaven You know, it's rooted in ancient mythology of ancient suumer, right? But you can see the types of queens of heaven that have come through history, right? So I'll name a couple of those if that's okay with you So the quQeen of heaven and Canine culture, she was Bal's counterpart, right? So history has several women with notorious traits like this. and I'll bring a couple of these up Elizabeth Bathory in sixteen hundred, she was known as a blood countountess known for killing hundreds of young girls in the late sixteenth and seventeenth centuries She was accused of bathing in blood of virgins to retain her youth and beauty There's Catherine D Medesi Queen of France known for H Ruthouss political maneuvers involved in St. Bartholomew's massacre There was Isl Coach Coke and she was known as the witch of Buchenwald, she was a wife of a Nazi concentration commandant And this it's pretty disgusting, but she would use the skin of Jewice to make lampshades So you see these types of evils, right Amelia Dyer, she's dubbed as the Ogress of Redding. She was a Victorian era baby farmer and she would take hundreds of infants for money. And she discarded of them later. Bal Gunnis, early nineteen hundreds, American sero killer. she would lure wealthy men to her home and kill them and take from their insurance. And then the big one I want to kind of talk a little bit about is infamous Margt Sanger. Yeah. right. So she's the prominent birth control activist and her history is deep, seeded evil. So and a lot of people don't know this, but she's the founder of Plned Parenthood. It was once called the American Birth Control League is what the original name was called before they turned it. So this is kind of example of the revival of Godddess worship, right? And we had it here recently in the early nineteen hundreds and she so what she did is you know, her sex was her path through socialism and she wrote manyain publications expressing her views as such as women, rebel and no gods, no masters. and they echoed exact same lies that Satan did in the garden Her publications they grew more explicit and pornographic. So what happened is in eighteen thirty seven, there was a law called the Comstock laaws And that was a postal law that you cannot mail any kind of explicit information across mail. Plus, she was a They they they got her for that and they charged her with violating the Cst law, so she fled to Europe. And there's where she got really radicalized. She fled to England and she met the Malalthusians, they call them the Nil Malththusians. and they were radical about their population control practices. So that's where she started to get all of her influence, right? So she was influenced by a gentleman named Havlock Ellis. He's a socialist, a sexologist and a eugenicist and he targeted the poor and unfit Right. And then so with that, Alice mentored, he was mentored by Francis Galton who coined the term eugenics derived. So the Greek word means good creation, right? acccording to them. So and they aim to manipulate human reproduction and create superior races. sound familiar? Yeah. So eugenics goes back a little further to Plato, four hundred forty nine BC And he called or he wrote something called the twelve tablets and he says, and in those twelve in those one of the tablets he says, an obviously deformed child must be put to death So if you forward to the roaring twenties, right, That was the industrial age, that's where Men are going to war. There's a lot of more independence. Women are starting to work in the field, right? They're building now. So you know the single women are starting to become more popularized. The family unit was separating because industrial age, peoplee were becoming wealthy So, um, you know, that created the, you know, the flappers and, you know, those those type of Speak easies, you started seeing a lot more sinful type behavior in the big cities, right? Wealth and innovation ushered societal transformations such as the Harlem Renaissance So Galton was a half cousin of Charles Darwin R? Who is an ardent biologist or biological racist all that ideology fueled Adolf Hitler, right? So if we keep going to Granville Stanley Hall, the traction of eugenics goes all the way down back to Indiana becoming the first state to pass for sterilization And a twenty seven, the Supreme Court case Buck versus Bell, Justice Oliver Holm states, and this is in public and he states three generations of imbeciiles is enough So you can see, you know, so he upheld sterilizations. And then bllack leaders They're recruited by Planedarenthood to serve as project directors under Sangers. It was called the Negro proroject to encourage genocide in the communities, which still exist today. Yeah, wow. And I recently heard a Somebody going I believe it was Tennessee and they said it was a you know they just happened to make a wrong turn. They went through a very, very poor neighborhood and they had a Planned Parenthood in that community and it was the nicest building there. So that evil still exists today, right? So her revolution influenced is responsible for more than six million abortions. Wow. So you know, fast forward that to you, the moolch of today, right? Yep. We have now we have the I believe it's called the Morning after pill. It's called MyOPEx or the RU forty six. and cytotch the chem the chemically that will chemically burn an unborn child in the womb. There's a renewed interest in gene eding. Have haveave you heard of CrisSper Yeah Crisprine. Yeah, Crine.. Yeah, and that's gene editing, right? So you can see if you study history, you start to see, wait, this is, you know, it just it comes in different forms, right? Just repackaged. Remotic to Sanger to now technology, right? So you know and I don't know if you heard of the the Internet abbodies, the Rrand Corporation project, whether they're taking reepptilian DNA and adding it to humans for better night vision. So there's these all these weird, weird things happening. and again, if you're not recognizing these evils because they're not they're contrary to the Bible, right? If you're not recognizing it. you're going to assign that you're going to fill out that little bubble on on your voting ballot and say yes to what some of these are aimed at. Yeah, one hundred percent. Well I mean, this is exactly why I think this is a good conversation to have because we're entering into this age,, where these things are subtle, they're repackaged, and many times we don't know history So we don't we won't they won't jump out at us, but because they're repackaged in a very nice way, you know, all these other things It just it takes advantage of I think of the young people, I actually feel bad. My daughters are all in their mid twenties I think anybody that's under twenty They've never grown up without internet, without access to all these things and social media. And now it's like orre the phone that's in their hands. as you mentioned, that that the influence They don' parents, I don't know how they can do it. because unless they are very proactive and serious about screen time. I know I have two grandsons and my daughter' really strict, which is good. And But yet that's not the case. I would say the most to people you put them in front of the television, you put them in front of the screen Have them watch a movie. It's easier. There's no doubt. It's easier to do it. And then you give them a phone and then where are they going to learn? I saw this even in youth mininistry where parents would come and they'd be upset and like, well kids know my kid's doing this? and why aren't you doing something about it? And I go, I just want to help you understand something. I get your child for forty five minutes once a week. And what are you doing what information or what influence are they getting the rest of the six days? There's no way my one hour of influence on them with the scripture is going to undo the rest of what you're allowing them to get from the world. Yeah, yeah.fortunately unfortunately fortunately for you That's awesome because the fact that they're going to remember that, right? Because if you're the only one to give it to them That's great. They have something But unfortunately for the parent, that should be their job. Yeah. And that's what I told them too is, as look I'm not here to raise your kids. I'm here to supplement what you should already be doing as a parent. Exactly. It's great. you know, as I remember as a you know, again, as a pastor where you know, parents have a tough And so it's good for them to bring their child generally to the youth group where that pastor is going to re emphasize scriptural principles that hopefully the parents already giving. So now they're going to hear it from somebody else. And they're going to go oh, okay, I guess my parent isn't just you know goofball that this guy's saying the same thing. You know, whatever, But if the parent, what I felt was the parent was simply just not doing it and say, well, they get it on Sunday. Yeah ye. no, you're right. And there's that kind of like you mentioned something about we call the uncle syndrome, right?
