And on that post note, I want you to say on Monday, Wednesday and Frid Do not disturb. put it on. Got, you know, I think it was Seth over at Edward Jones in Silverdale callalling me to tell me that you know, your money was goneoney like your money is gone. Well ask Seth when you talk to him if he's ever seen a game crazer than the one he saw Tuesday with the Mariners. we've seen a lot of games, but that one Wh that takes the cake of just everything. The lineup they put out there based on injuries And just all of the different scenarios and plays and Nickavila and just just everything. It had it all What was your favorite part out of all the craziness Beuse mine was Nick Tevila. Yeah, I think the story about how we got there that was detailed by Adam Jude and others how he's just sitting there having anniversary dinner with his girlfriend at the ten di No, where was he at T Dintifg there in South Center. And and then gets the call and then's on a plane a couple hours later and lands in Baltimore sleeps for a couple hours and then He's not even active. He's on the T taxi squad. gets the call. You're active, Night are going in the game Yeah, I think that that kind of takes it. think's wild story. I just puck, I don't think I've ever heard a player in an interview when someone says, Hey, hey, you know, Nick, can you take us through, you know, what you went through, you know, to get here to be on the mound last night or tonight? And he went He gave a play by play with every single detail. It was He didn't exactly tell us what he ordered, but he said he had reservations at seven hundred thirty and then his flight was at ten twenty or eleven twenty. And then he was Alaska Airlines. he was at gate thirty. and then he got to the hotel and he lowered the blinds and got himself some sleep. I mean, he just went on and on and on with the play by play. It was great though. He loves it I was in on all of it. it was wonderful. Now if I were in his his situation I had reservations at Dintaieng, I enjoyed Dtaifeng because I like a soup dumpling. I think I would have said, Yeah I don't know if it's the majors, but maybe I'll catch a later flight he just So he's by the way be active if he's on the taxi squad and then he ends up on the mound in the tenth inning of a big game and yeah, I mean, that's A night he'll never forget. It's awesome. I just love that. I love what the mariners are doing with this makeshift stuff they're throwing out there every night. Like the last two days, I mean, Cvie Mikey and I were driving to, you know, play golf at Prada yesterday of that h in golf course. Yeah, remember the golf course that you were you said you're going to get me on, but you didn't Yeah, go ahead. contininue Yeah, because you were too busy with your the baseball ability getting bears at Lifies. You think we can go and play Bersada Ranch? Oh yeah, I don't know, but this old back nine, you'll it's more your style Oh, yeah, come on down. comeome on down next time. I' because you promised you promised it and you didn't deliver. All right. I got you a full on free breakfast Didn't I? full on free breakfast, okay? You can't say free breakfast when you made the breakfast. That doesn't count. It'ounds like taking somebody out to breakf I'm going board. No, But I mean the last two days, Stevie said, I think it was on Monday. Hey Dad, this is the worst lineup. I think the Marers have ever thrown out there. And then yesterday he said like they It felt like they went one better or one worse by saying they had the worst lineup ever yesterday. I will I love your boys. I would disagree respectfully. and say, did you everress disrespectfully? Yeah I will point to a two thousand four Mariners lineup and a two thousand five Marinerss lineup and a two thousand six Mariners. I can give I can give them worse lineups than that Well, yeah, I could point to nineteen seventy, whatever or ninet nineteen eighty five lineup if you'd like to get the nineteen eighty five lineup. Also, if you ever go to Dent Tai Feng, if you ever find yourself, get the string beans with garlic, by the way So So if you've been a reporter back in Baltimore, you would ask Nick that as a follow up question Yeah, did you get the string beans? Beause I'm just telling you that the string beans smother and garlic It might be one of the best things. But Did he have Avat or not? Wcorn? know The scorn you would have gotten on the faces of other reporters if you had asked that. I would have I would have been I would have been delighted with that, you know, but some guys, you don knowt want to know, Hey, what what were you thinking when you face Tyler O'Neill to close out that game with the strike. I would have been like You're asking about green beans I would have asked about green beans and I would have just asked about what kind of What kind of dumplings did you get? Did you get the soup dumplings? Did get the regular dumplings? Did you get the pork buns? The lovely pork buns there at Dintai Fung Well, yeah I would think it's great. It' just be prepared to wait three and a half hours before he gets that down Well, I probably would have gone off on a different tangent and said, you know, two year anniversary with your girlfriend. What does that mean? Is she about to be a fiance? Where are you li? It seems like a little really It seems like a little a lengthy two year thing. What do we do? shit or get off the pot? You going marry her or not, Nick And then you would have followed up with Nick do you have a dog? too? Do you have to leave a dog behind Okay, how long was your courtship with the CEO? It was a long one. actuallyctually now that I think about it, I think it was almost two years. I think longer two years before you propose. Yeah Yeah, it was pretty lengthy All right You? Yeah mine was fast forward because we were in our early forties at time. Which one though, ' remember, you've been married multiple times so. Multiple is in dose You know? I mean, multiple God. why did I get married at twenty three? Jesus. I talked to my buddies now and I' like Jim, What are you doing man? It delivered you a wonderful daughter. I know that. I know that, but God, I was too immature at twenty. Im Trying to help you get out I'm not even mature at sixty eight. I'm trying to help you get out of this right now. tryrying to help I'm giving you a lifeifel. It was all my fault. I screwed it up Well we know Yeah too much. I drank too much, you know, I'm sorry. And still in the second one of the first one The first one.. The second one doesn't mind that I gamble too much inter course because she's right there with you. Yeah. I don't know. The Devilo story was great A couple of different plays that Patrick Wisdom made over at third base going home a position that he doesn't normally play Cole Young. I know he had the air, but Cole young makes a great stop sliding, you know, going to his left to throw a guy out makes a nice play to go home Ryan Bliss makes two fabulous plays. One going out to right field sliding and diving. And then the other one with you know, the the in the ninth inning to to hustle to get Henderson at second base with his speed. So And then R it just had a lot. it just had a lot Garve with and the challenges, the challenges and the replays everything was so close And you know, and you look at Logan Gilbert, it looks like he's going to get shelled in the first couple of innings and then he setettles down and actually pitches okay More than okay Yeah he sat down the last thirteen batterers he faced. Yeah, it was it was just had everything. it just was And you look at the lineup, right We got Ryan Blisst second, Cole Youngs playing short and Patrick Wisdom's playing third. mean We got no business winning the game No, these are guys, you know, ten years from now if the Mariners win the World Series that you won't really Will you remember Patrick wisdom No, Cole young anything about Cole young C young you will. He played it. I mean, that's what he was he played primarily that, I think in the minors was playing short stnop, but I know I understand your point. You Exactly right. Yeah. No no, but Cole Young, I wondered about his arm there at short, but clearly they wouldn't have put him out there if they didn't feel like he could do the job and he's done it. But what I get a kick out of I saw the depth chart at shortstop, someomebody posted it on Twitter. I who was on the depth chart at shortstop. I don't think that's real, but Why? Why don't you think that's real? There is no way I don't care how far they went down and had injuries. They would actually put Brian Wood short stop Okay, well, Brian play he played short stop in college He did. I think it was just kind of a joke Can you imagine him say Okay w out there and because they're down a bunch of different guys and short stop and he goes and fields a ball to his left and tears up his knee or ankle. Oh, come on. what are the odds of that though? I don't think we position We got position players that pitch Why not have a pitcher that plays position player? So o Yeah I could see Julio put Julio in short. Yeah maybe it was a joke and the jokeess on me, I guess, but I thought Brian who, if you get down to it, what the hell? Yeahy, why not? you need an emergency emergency emergency, right? Yeah. Like where were this how far do the Seahawks go down before they get to like there This guy can play quarterback if we need him I don't know Yeah H you'd have to go for fourth or fifth string, wouldn't you? Well, let's say they go through Darnald, they go who's the backup? Who is the backup? Is Julock Milroow. Oh Mil Jul loock. Jul loock. Okay, then Mil let's say locks out, Milroow's out. Who's the guy? Who did they put in a quarterback He go to somebody that played high school quarterback probably also who on that team looks like that Julian love to me seems like he would be the emergency quarterback. That could be It's probably a receiver too feels like he can throw the ball. Maybe not only catch. can't use you can't use JSN, right? Because you need him to catch passes. interestnting nteresting call. Yeah Maybe to you, maybe not to your listeners, but Not really to me, but I was trying to play along because you, you know nothing's interesting to you. You know what? F you. All right, you know, you. Well, it was a crazy game. You know what you know what I know was interesting to you this week? What's that? Be I thought about you. I thought about you. I thought about you. Because you you and Paul Skens have something in common. You would stop on by a little League field to go watch a bunch of littleittle Leagers play And that's what how cool was that for Paul S schemes? He just made those kids year in their lives they'll never forget meeting Paul Skes on some random Monday night. They're out there being barked at by Johnny's dad because they're getting ready for the littleittle League playoffs And they can't they can't hit the cut there's Paul Seemes. Yeah, I just I just like to go through and I'm sure he's been interviewed about it since and I haven't seen the interview, but the thought process when he was driving by that field and thinking to himself, you know I don't really have much going on tonight. I've got time where I could just stop and I bet it'd be kind of cool for the kids to hang out with them and all that. Yeah. I just that was the best story of the day, Puck. I agree. It was just it was so cool. And would have really have been cool if you were a dad there and you said, Hey, Paul, you mind getting Olivia out out here too or Th think she could come out Is that who he's dating Yeah they know girlfriend? You know who that is? Livy Dun Oh no, I don't know who it is. You don't know who Livy Dunn is No. No, I'm not up to I'm up not up to speed on, you know, Sidney Sweeney and all those people that you You're not. Well, you knew her name, so you have to be up to speed. I know she' to spoane. Yeah, we donoanistan. Go think she's I don't think she's as hot as everybody think she is Okay by the way. Go look up Livy Dun When you get a second Do me do it right now? I don't have to do it right now. J when you just get her look her up, that's who he is dating. Livby done Just yeah, go like she you think he'd be is she an actress or what is she She is a she was a gymnast. She is and like she's now like a model slash influencer. She was a gymnast at LSU She was like one of the first people in this NIL world making ridiculous amounts of money. She was making like three or four million dollars. Oh Skeines pitch at LSUs and how they met? Skinens, Yeahah, he started off at Air Force and LSU. boy, but people tune into this podcast for the first time It' just sports and boy they didn't know he pitched at LSU. But I didn't know that Paul Skees pitched LSU I'm sorry you think I'm paying attention to all this stuff all the time. I'm retired. I don't think you are. I don't think you but that's There's listeners out there right now that didn't know Paul Kean's pitch for LSU. I guarantee it. Yeah, you're probably right But this is somebody h me out on the chat room. Somebody they're not helping on. Hey Jim, I'm like you. I didn't know Pa. I think they're more annoyed. I think they're more annoyed that you didn't know Sry I just think more athletes should do this stuff when they get the opportunity. they don't need all the cameras there which he didn't have any cameras. how many people just, you know took their cell phones out, but this stuff It changes those kids' lives. It just does And the pictures that these kids have like from their dad's cell phones, the smile on their faces is Yeah, so cool. Well, if Hulio on the way home s night just stopp by a littleittle leeague practice, you imagine I mean, Julio's like a twelve year old kid anyway. He's the best God, he's the best. God he's he is just what a you know, we haven't talked enough really just about how great his has started the season has been Because we have just spent so much time year after year and everyone's guilty of it of of criticizing him how he starts. and he is off to just his best start that he's ever had defensively he's been great. He's made just play after play in the outfield And then of course, offensively what he's done. so No, it's been fantastic to see what Julio' doing and also with think about Randy for a second. att the start of the season with the WBC thing with with Cal and everybody making a big deal out of that, including us We were guilty of making it. Well yeah I think it was a big deal. I don't think it I made it out to be a big deal. It was a big deal. Yeah. and I wasn't so certain that Randy was going to, you know, have the bat go on this year because he didn't he kind of faded last year toward the end of the year. And look at him. God was so much fun to watch And what he did last night That home run that he hit last night Mikey goes, Hey, Dad, he goes when you see that pitch, look at it again. it was off the plate and the go the opposite way with it Yeah that guy I believe I don't know who tweeted it out. someone had mentioned. I think that guy had only given up one hit So right hander? Gary Hill mentioned it. Gary Hill, by the way And I don't know why I didn't discover this sooner, but I did last night for some know why it took me so long. You know on the Marinerers TV broadcast that we have to subscribe to, you know, you can change the audio Yeah, I didn't know that I didn't even realize that. So I flipped it. I'm watching it, but then I put on Gary Hill. You know who has been doing a great job with Gary Hill? On this road trip Shannon Dreayer. Unbelievable. great. They need to keep Shannon Dreayer in as the analyst the entire time on the radio with Gary H Okay the new Susan Waldman. Maybe you could write something about that and see if you could get heard and comment on it Yeah I'm a big fan of anagerer. I love Ryan Roland Smith too and all the broadcasters on the team there. I do. Yeah. All right, how wass that Well, you're lying about the Ryan Roold Smith, but I'm not going to not I'm not going purue it any further. I'm going to leave it. I'm not going to make you uncomfortable. No. no. I like Ryan. I like Shannon. And I also think that Gary Hill they should make an announcement soon about who's going to replace Riz when he retires the I'm not going to do it now Now I got to take it away from R take away from Riz. I take away from him. Does a really good job doing the color. And I believe it's only Susan Waldan, is she the only other one No, the As have one, don't they? No, but she's play by play Oh okay col col a color analyst, yeah. So's a great job. It's good. They got good chemistry together there as well. All right What have you made of the Texas tech story The Soreresby, huh? You can do anything in college football now. This guy bet ninety thousand dollars and he's like, eh You can play football Well, imagine what yeah, if this had happened what? five years ago, three years ago There's no way that kid would be playing again. but you mentioned that the judge, what he went to Texas tech No this judge did not go to Texas tech. He he's just from Texas. He's in Lovbock County. The judge that was going to see it but then I think took himself off the case. He was from Texas. like this guy who graduated from Texas, Arlington and then got his Lw degree from Houston, but He lives in Texas in Lubbot County. There was no way he was going to rule against the kid if he wanted to Be safe Well, yeah, and as you pointed out, Texas tech where you got a two game suspension and they play cupcakes. They Albeline Christian and then Well the beavers the beavers might get Yeah, well it's Core Valals. Of course they're gonna get. No one goes into Core Valals and comes away with an easy win No they don't. That will love to be We love the peeves, don't we? Love them until we play them. So yeah, I mean what a stupid story, just all of it. just, I mean, come on. There's the kid can't play. comeome on. What are we doing? And and I kind of tired of people. there's a lot to bash on the NCAA about. I don't know why people are bashing on them right now It they suspended him. They said that he wasn't couldn't play. Their hands are tied because he went to court Yeah. Like what else do you want them to do? It's in their laws. If you bet on a game, you cannot play. So What do you what do you think Rick New His? Go get go get Slick Rick on your show. Go interview Slick Rick for the for the substack and see what he thinks. That guy was participated in a calcutta. and I'm fired. It was it was basketball related a basketball March Madis Calcutta with our boy Levy and got terminated for it. Y gu b ninety grand on college football and other sports And then the judge is like, Ah, you're fine. How about when he throws the first How about when he throws an interception in game three to there's no receiver ins sight. He just thrs it right to some linebacker. He's going to hear about it all year long if he plays poorly. The thing is th Puck, I mean, would you if this kid played for Washington State, would you be happy with the judge's ruling? I mean, I would hope that I would not want him to play I mean I would tend to think that you're wrong about that. Yeah, maybe I am, but I just It's just disgusting. I think you better You mentioned I think you mentioned yesterday or the day before with what is today? Wednesday, yesterday with Canano about John Matir. Yeah cles on something. Well, yeah, he yes, but I think that would be the one where you could get away with a slap there. I think he was betting with friends L on Ven Mo and they got caught on Ven Mo. I think that's different. I think you gets, you know, maybe if you get thing for that, but I don't think that warrants you know, a lifetime ban, but this guy certainly knows. All right, before you go, I know you got you gotta jump on out of here. And then we got inside pitch coming up with Ryan Davish. We'll talk more baseball with Davish in a second. I got a great Ho in one golf story for you Okay. I wish it' happened to me, but did not. I want to introduce you to Ryan Winchester Ryan Winchester this week was playing golf at the Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield, Pennsylvania. And as he was te it up on the first par three third hole of the day. dunks it in. He gets an ace on the third hole of the day, all right? Well is his day is not done Then later he gets to the sixteenth hole, also a par three Pulls out his seven iron Dunks it again T hole in ones in the same day, same round, Ryan Winchester from Pennsylvania. You know what the odds are of that happening One in ten million. close? S it could get one in twenty million. The odds of getting two hole in ones on the same round of golf This is what you're going to love though about the story. and God, I hope. I hope this comes home because this would be one hell of a story So then He gets the two h in ones, he buys everybody aroundounded drinks and all that kind does all that stuff He then went out and bought fifty dollars worth of mega millions lottery tickets And he's using the numbers involved in his two ho in ones The holes The yardages, et cetera All of the numbers involved in those two hole in ones Club used maybe Club used everything in the two hole in ones for the mega millions I hope that Ryan Winchester wins that and what a story that would be. two ho in ones, you use all the numbers from those and you win whatever the mega millions is. Yeah, that's awesome. I thought you were going to say that when he went in to buy drinks because that's customary to buy drinks when you which I've never understood that custom because you're the guy who did it. you should be the one that people are buying drinks for. But one didid he do two rounds for everybody? Yeah, hold on I'm going to pull it up because when I was reading this story, Um Yes, they did they did two two rounds of golf or they did the To hole in ones cost of it But the golf course, the rolling green golf course U they're giving him a plaque and all that kind of stuff And He also as a do he's a paying member. I think it's private or semi private But as a dues paying member at the golf course He was eligible for the club's Hole in one insurance. So he got so they gave him when he got a hole in one if you get a hole in one Rolling Green And you're a meember, they give you three hundred dollars in the pro shop and seven hundred dollars at the bar This is according to the head Pro. So he got double it. So he got six hundred dollars and fourteen. So he got one thousand four hundred dollars tab at the bar. Wow. So he didn't I mean, depending on who was all there, he didn't have to pay for it Because the club gives them insurance. What was the yardage on those holes? Do you have that handy? I mean, were they legitimate parries? They weren't like ninety five yards or something like that? The you know what I don't have that in front of me. Okay threw him from. I think I don't think he was playing on some ex. Well if he used a seven iron, you said he used a seven iron on one of them, so it might have been, you know, one hundred fifty or long. Well, I might have added that If you have a hole in one yourself, knit no Close Close about a foot But I was by myself and it doesn't count Do you want to ask me if I've had any? I'm not really all that interested. There might be a listener who's interested And I'm interested right now.. I've had two T what was that I've had two holes in one. I believe it's holes in one and not hole in ones. Two hole in one Two holes in one Two holes in one You've seen You've never seen two holes. Did lose you? Wh Jim, you where'd you get those holes in one? Well, puck. I got one of them at Canyon Lakes in Kenterwick. Seven iron from like one hundred seventy downhill with a wind at my back. The other one at Plateau Country Club, one hundred twenty yards pitching ledge, okay That's it. Thank you Congratulations. Is? Is that like a guy that always wants to tell you his fantasy football lineup? Was it that? No, I I love that's a more getting a hole in one' more interesting than your fucking fantasy football team or who you got Wh do you got the funotal for? All right. Okay, Park, Go cg Safe travels. Here it is inside pitch light with Ryan Dish of the Seattle Times weekly appearance brought to you by our good friends at Cha Bl because Johnny Praade has done a hell of a nice job I mean, they might try three for a few days just to ease cow back into it too. But they're They're banged up. I mean, they don't have a lot of infielders right now that can help them like, you know, how their bench setits up sets up So they could, you know, it's like Technically Garber can play first space. He's played it before And So and he takes grounders there So you could do the three catcher setup And you know, maybe there is an IL stint, but what hurts them and it's weird to say this is like U Is that like They have reas, obviously down at Tacoma And then there's another kid, Brock Rodden, who I call white Lo Rboss ' they're about the same height and they're both switchitters and they're both utility guys he's on the IL right now. And so he's another guy that like gives you some flexibility and versatility. Yeah because you're looking at roster spots, forty man spots, everything else So You know, you're just going to have to Piece it together But like I think as of now, they'd feel fine sending paraded down just telling, Hey, you'll be back real quick. We don't know. I don't think they really want to just DFA Garbor. I just think that that would be Wouldn't be good for the clubhouse. He's still a pretty valuable piece. Yeah sure, I get it. No. And you know, but Parade is great. I mean, like he brings good energy. He's got he's just kind of a goofy dude You know it was weird and it was like He's been really good in the minor leeagues for a long time. Like you look at his minor leeague numbers his AA numbers. He gets on base almost at four hundred. L I just can't understand why hasn't been up longer when you talk to some scouts, you just say it's like the details that come catching um, some of the mindfulness of scouting reports and all that and I notice he wears the the football play guard that, you know, I'm sure you know what very well in Little League baseball two two three. Oh my God That just I want that banned. I know. That's got to be banned and all of. nine six four. And my favorite is so when the coaches they they yell at and then they go free free four, you know Oh it's so frick so light I mean, like that I guess in talking with some pro sccouts and some people are not baseball, that would been kind of the knock on parade. It's just not like a He's a really good player. I wouldn't say he's overly focused on his offense. It's just like the detail oriented nature that is modern catching. he wasn't as good at. I think he's getting better at it. and you see and I think he works really well with the Latin guys But he's unbelievably durable and like he gives you some stuff that maybe Garber doesn't give you. Well, and I think we saw some of that this week. Oh ye. like I think it's clearly what led to him Well Emerson Hancock, which we've see the side of Emerson Hancock. Yeah, losing it on I likeike we can all just speculate that, hey, man, the game plan was this Like what are you calling? Why whyy are you going different? Why are you calling something differently than when we sat here three hours ago and went over the whole game plan what we're going to do Well, he left haven The thing is these pitchers don't want to shake a ton because then they get, you know players read the shakes and you got to throw in the, especially with runners on base, you throw in the runner and the pitch clock Did you start in the rightition? I mean, honestly, I wouldn't be surprised that next time Hancock goes out there, especially if Parade is catching him that he wears a pitchom on his belt just because like just to have it. Hey, look, this is what I want. This is what I'm. I don't want to have time, you know,'s the only one that does it U yeah, Logan Logan did it a little bit, but he hasn't Um Castillo is pretty much I'll throw whatever you tell me to. likeike I'm not going to don't think, you know, it's kind of b But but I even like I see I love that step by handcock. We talked about the other day. I think it's just another step in his ownership Maturation ownership, DNA of him being a competitor. I don't think he does that a few weeks ago, months ago. He certainly doesn't do it last year. Boy he certainly doesn't do it to Cal Oh no, but I appreciated Pereta. Py just kind stood there and he didn't lash back at him or He nodded his head. He's like, all right, all right I got you. clear. And you right back and Yeah there could be miscommunication to you because they're talking to the dug out And then like the pitchures go back in the tunnel and maybe Pereta was talking toete Woodwwardth and say, hey, we like this, mayaybe you should do this. So there's got to be communication all sides. ideal like that. You know like I said, Perereda is getting better, but also like you notice He likes to show off that arm A little bit because it's a bazooka sometometimes you' just got to like polster that thing there Whiteer. you can't be throwing it all over. You know, This is like when you you know, it's funny's like, you know Be back to Montana, helping coach a little bit on this little break before I have to go back You're talking about free nineties, free bases When the mariners were stuffling a few weeks ago, what were they doing in Kansas City, giving up free bases, making mistakes that led to free bases that lead to runs So like, justust being conscientious of those bases mean? I think that's something Preta is learning And, you know, is invaluable. likeike they have control over him. It's not like they, you know, he's got options and And you want to keep going on that. So I think you know If they do send them down and they say Hey, look We want you back up, but here's some things you got to make sure you feel focused on Okay, let's conclude with this too early to talk trades and what this team could could use or what they could desire Thank you kind of touched on a little bit earlier in the show Bullpen, you think thats still that should be their primary focus as we get closer to the deadline, which is on august third Yeah, because I don't know that there's a lot of trade possibilities that make their everyday lineup better I mean it like I'm going to give you, I'm going to give you one that you're gonna laugh at, but go ahead because right You can Byron Buxton obviously would help them, but Buxton turned out Buxton turned out to trade to the Braves. He's from Georgia He can turn out straight to the brakes. So like You know, and he comes with a hefty price tag in terms of a contract and prospect costs. But it, you know, that's a right handed power backat that you put in there You know, and you have him in some kind of DH DH right field platoon Tabadal where you're getting him. You know, his requisite of bats, that changed the mask. by you know you're kind of locked in at left you're kind of locked in at center rights a little bit. you know, you like Rilly, obviously, but you don't know what, you know, what Rob is First is locked in, seconde is locked in. short stop, you know, you have the combo and then third you have Donamond and Donond's coming back eventually, you know, until he plays in a rehab assignment though you know, you can't really predict anything. So I think Reliever is the best fit. you know, I know the Sool stuff was out there and Passon wrote it And I texted with Jeff a little bit and he even said like the maror' not going to do that. They're not going to trade a starter You know, want to the guys out of the rotation for T months of Scubble, although dude that guy. I just Well, I mean, I mean I everybody would want Terk Schooble. I just I don't see them doing it, you know, you know The the to me they would have to give up Kirby and the Hubble prospects to get him And I mean, like If you had, I could do that like if you knew you werere going to have a whole year of scubo, like one whole year. I can see doing that, but when you're talking about two and a half months. That's a little tougher ride, although man like Like you just front him in that rotation and then have him. You want to talk about a guy that gives you seven all the time. That guy But he doesn't give you seven all the time. Well, not against the Mariners. Not against the Mariners. I mean, the guy pulled himself out of a game and the lim I'm not a huge fan of him. And you know what? And it sounds stupid to say I just the guy pulled himself out of an elimination game at one hundred pitches And was like, I'm done. mean, I can't do it anymore. I just I still cannot get past that game. because that's what they made all their hay in that game right when he left. They couldn't touch the guy. And he was just okay with being pulled out of a game I mean, back in the day, you'd have to rip these guys arms off. Youd drag him off the field and he was like, a yeah, I'm good I mean, what I know it's I'm being unfair and yesing you into You're turning you into Eric Bar. I know, I know. All right. I'm going to give you a crazy scenario and you're going to laugh at me, but I just want you to entertain my my pipe dream. Okaykay because this actually was a huge topic this week on our favorite show U MLB central, okay Joe Maden has brought this up. He feels that Mike Trout needs to ask for a trade Yeah. because he just doesnes't want to see him finish his career never having any post season six not experiencing it at all and and being a part of it and and just it will stain his legendary career in a way, N not stain it. That's too price too strong. But anyways, he just thinks he should pursue a trade. Obviously Philadelphia is going to be the number one team. Yeah because he's from there. I think he just built a golf course near there National. Yeah, I just so it makes perfect sense, right Yeah But one of the the other teams that they brought up, the Rays and then the As If you're going to bring up the As, tell me why you can't bring up the Mariners The best ballpark besides Angel Stadium that he's had success in is T Mobile. People go look at his numbers, what he has done there It's it's unbelievable. We all this talk about how you can't hit there three twenty five batting average. He slugs six eighty three there in four and thirty one at bats He's got OPS over a thousand there thirty four home runs Listen, he' owed a ton of money And that's and I know why that that's going to take the mariners out of it. It's not the m you You just talked about You just talked about Buxton, right That's a lot of money for him They need a right handed bat. Well he a better option than Byan Buxton And he's having a revival well, he's having a better year. Oh, he's out a better year now but, you know, like and neither of them stay healthy. I'll give you true. I'll you why not at least knock on the door for him to see if they would even bite So I got four words for you. Turo Moreno. Gerard D Poto How do you think their relationship is? Jerry Deapoto had not been back to Anaheim to Angel Stadium until last season leaving the organization Have the mariners ever worked out a tray between with the angels Now Hollander would have to do it because Moreo H Her and Moreo have a better relationship. But Do you think that Ari Moreno do anything to help Jerry De Poto or the Seattle Mariners win a World sereries. Again, you are us probably ninety nine point nine percent correct. In fact, you are. But by to me what if Mike Trout goes to Mirand just says I haven't which he hasnt no trade clause I'll wave it, but here I want to wave it for Yeah, five te the Mariners or go whver. I'm going to wa it for a couple of team The Mariners are one of them But the angels didn't even trade O Tony when everybody knew he was never a sign there You know, like he he is Moreno, like you know, I know people don't love John Stanton and they have very fair reasons as to why, but like, you Arie Moreno ist I put him lower on the list of I put him higher on the list of worst owners in MLB. Yeah, I mean I Ch wanted to go T a winner, he could have w ten years ago when they were shopping him I it's it's I don't know he's a different. I don't know Maybe he doesn't want to do this You know, it's weird for me as well people are like, Oh, well, you love southern California He's making like four hundred million. He can still keep the house in Newport Beach while you know, playing in Philadelphia Um, I don't know. I don't Yeah, I heard Joe Man say that And usily well we got to make sure Chuck gets another chance at the playoffs Sot had his opportunities to go to the playoffs and he didn't move because he didn't want to leave And maybe that's out of some weird loyalty to that organization that organization has showown very little loyalty to him in terms of putting talent around him. Well, again I just left on stuff out there to divish at the end with the trade deadline againain, it's august third. There's a lot of time obviously between now and then they made great trades last year I understand how it's a slim to none zero possibility that Mike Trout would be traded to the Mariners. But Mike Tout, there is going to be a name that's going to be brought up a lot And it will be centrs Divish and I would talk talking about we go more in depth than that by the way, the thirteen minutes I played there is thirteen minutes of a forty five minute show the divis and I did this morning. If you want to catch the whole thing talk about More on my trout More on the six man rotation, more on Johnny Parreda and Cal Raleigh, the state of the Mariners. Whoever, if anyone does acquire him, he's going to be owed a ton of money And most likely the angels are going to ask for that team to pay the majority of it It's somewhere around four years, one hundred and forty eight million dollars What complicates the Mariners for ever getting involved in this And before you sit there and say, ah, they would you why would you ever trade with anybody in their division? It happen it happens more than you think in sports And one of the teams that were even brought up by when MLB Central did a story on it this week or the A's. Last time I checked the Ace playing in the same division There's been some talk also about Tampa Bay and and this on the heels of Tampa Bay almost pulling off a trade a couple of years ago for Shohee O Tani when he was with the angels. So Obviously a working relationship there with Tampa. and the angels and maybe the angels would bite on that one Now none of this can happen with my trout. He doesn't waive his no trade clause. He's got a full no trade clause. Maybe at some point he says to them And Davish is right. He's had his opportunities to do before. This is all wave it I'll waave it for a select few teams The lead if he ever were to do it, the leader in the clubhouse as we talked about would be the would be the Phillies. He's from there liivves there. He's just built a golf course near there. that would be the most likely destination or certainly would be the leader. But if I'm Seattle You get wind of it, even if you don't get wind of it Why not? And I despite the strain relationship, put Hollander in charge of it Just kick the tires on it. They need they're looking for a right handed betat. are they not Is That what everybody wants him to have Why not go get the best right handed bat that could potentially be available who's have the most success hitting there. Go to baseball reference and look at his numbers at Team Mobile Park It's the best park he's hidden besides Angel Stadium s got an OPS over one thousand. He's slugging damn seven hundred there thirty four home runs Yeah it's money. It's not our money. it's their money. they want to make a trade for them they could eat the money and they'd be fine. Don't ever let this ownership group cry poor. They're not poor They they' there nothing poor about them They make money left and right They could they just operate in a budget because they put a budget on themselves. They put a cap on what they want to spend. They can overspend as much as they want. They can make a trade with anybody, includluding the Angels say, We won't give you a single prospect, but we'll take all of his contract and they'd be fine. They'd still make money they wanted to do it Just start it out there I'd like to see it Number twenty seven DH Mike All right on this day. june tenth. We do on this day every single day. We didn't get into this. We were going to get into a little bit with go to guy earlier in the show. there is a new owner that has emerged here recently here with the Seattle Seahawks and I don't know if I're getting his last name Correct or not, but Todd Bowlely. Wh is the onene of the owners of the Chelsea football team. Also has stakes in the Lakers and Dodgers He's valued around nine billion dollars Obviously would have partners involved in this one. He's got partners in those entities as well He's got his hands in sports. He's also got his hands in entertainment as well He's a key backacker of the Indie Film stududio eight twenty four partners with Pinsky media corporations a corporation that oversees Billboard magazine, Variety, Rolling Stone Hollywood Reporter. He also founded a company called Eldridge Industries. That acquired the Hollywood Foreign press, which puts on the Glden G gloes anyways And I was told because I have a friend of mine who Double Dipson does work at Se Yk Stadium said I don't know if it was him. Someone was there yesterday getting a private tour of the state and they had to shut it down. As they are getting ready for the World Cup, they had to shut down the stadium yesterday for a private tour of a potential new owner. His name is in the news right now. so I'm assuming it's him That's just a little info that came out yesterday in report of a new owner potentially being involved with the Seahwks. What I wanted to say about the Seahwks is this and I wanted to get to this with Jim. Mi camp' going on right now, Mandor M mini camp and everyone's there. I just I don't know how what this season' going to unfold for the Seahwks It's hard to repeat whether they do that or not. We'll wait and see. last year was a surprise they won it anyways, I think to most of us. But I just love the mindset of the Sakks. and it's not so much what they're saying about repeating as champions. It's what they're saying about specifically defensively that I think this has a long staying power for them and more so than maybe the first team that won a championship, notot to say they're better than that team or that defense or what have you, but they might have a longer staying power because of their ability to learn, adapt and evolve And I don't think that team was necessily one that was going to learn, adapt and evolve. They were they ran their scheme. That was their scheme. It was personnel base and we're going to stick to it. And I think teams figured it out. And then one thing that's been interesting we' here in the last week that's come out of Minany Camp, hearing Mike MacDonald, hearing Ernest Jones and Julie in loveove is talking about the new wrinkles and the new schemes and the evolving defense. you just can't sit back and rest on what won you a championship because teams are going to evolve and they're going to pour over film and they're going to figure out a way as our good friend, Hugh Millan used to say all the time Who's the last person on the whiteboard because they've got uer hand because they got a counter every offense is going to come to a counter to what Mike McDonald is doing So what's Mike McDonald's counter to show them something they haven't seen before. I just love that mindset of McDonald and this team as they approach twenty twenty six because they can't just be exactly the same. They've got to show something new I mean they'll show a lot of the same stuff they did last year, but they've got to evolve and they He's willing to evolve into something else than what they previously were And It's a great sign and it's a great sign of staying power this for this current team, this coach and these players.
