Mariners were not a strong defensive team last night. Randy, it's a fair ball That is fair. Gzaales is into third OHarn as a parish who doubled down the line. I had answers for you. I had answers for myself, and I just don't right now. I'm digging, trying I'm looking everywhere. I just don't know. Like I wish I had better answers for you, but I just don't Here we go. All right, you saw in the open what we had Uh JP. Crawford Randy Aosa Reda and then of course the post game with Brian Woo that I want to get to in a second. I want to play a longer clip Here in just a quick second from Brian Woop. Let's first start with JP. I was told that JP is going to be great at third base by people What do, you know, Oh, it's an easier throw. It's he'll be much better over there do I would ask you evaluate it right now. How he's been over there third is the most routine play yesterday. he throws it into the back he throws it into the dugout. I mean, that's not even the most egregious thing. The most egregious thing yesterday's Randya Rose arena in the fourth inning You got a game in which they a, I mean, they're just sloppy all the way around. They've been sloppy in this series early they should have turned the double playet whet it's C E. I mean, the guy was running up the line pretty fast, but C Emerson's got to get the ball out faster and so does Cool young. They got to turn a double play. So they don't get that So that you've extended the inning Then a ball is hit to left field. plenty of time for Randy to go get it And he jogs over there and doesn't hustle to go get it. Now he's not a good outfielder. never has been. No one no everybody knows that he's not a good outfielder But he's a good bad You need them in the lineup. You're not going to DH them right now. Maybe they should. I don't know but he prefers to play in the field, so he's out there Now I know he's got a bad hamstring, but I'm not going you can't use the hamstring as an excuse which is I'm not exactly saying that's what Dan Wilson was doing after the game. He's going to defend them. Dan Wilson's never going to criticize any of his players publicly. Just if you're waiting for Dan Wilson to do it, he's never, ever going to do it But if the hamstring was an issue, then he shouldn't have been in the outfield I mean, they kind of touched that Goldsmith said,, you know, maybe he's still dealing with the hamstring. Well, if he's still dealing with it, then he shouldn't be in the outfield. He just times more than often doesn't try And he's a poor outfielder. That's inexcusable to have that stuff. inexcusable to have that type of effort. And then for Woo himself, whatever's going on with him on the road Who knows? He doesn't know. We but play a long clip here for you in a second. He has no idea. But he also sometimes is his worst enemy because When he gives up a couple hits like he does and he's always has this one big gettingning He can't get out of it and at some point you have to get out of it. You're the pitcher Make better pitches Get out But he gets kind of and he he does the woe is me. I mean the ball that was scores to center field off the wall. he's just You know, he looks defeated out there like I'm not saying he's giving up, but he just looks completely defefeated and almost like, I just want to get out of here I want to play this longer clip for M before we get to Mitch last night after the game, talking to reporters. this video, courtesy of Brady Fararkas, who by the way is on with Mitch every week Refused to lose podcasts. He was the one That was taking this video of Brian Wu just addressing what's going on with him Cany figure, I don't know. I feel like I'm doing anything different on the road. I feel like you Ething, I try to keep as consistent as I can home home or away U Yeah I'm sorry, I really genuinely wish I had better answers for you guys. I just don't. Like I said, I had answers for you, I have answers for myself and I'm looking at it I'm trying I just I don't I just don't have. They all keep me up late. I really Yeah, it's not a good feeling. pututting your team in the wholeole game after game. so Yeah, I mean, I wish I could say I'm just gonna, you know, wipe it off and get the next one, but I'm not. and don know it's baseball, you know. And it's kicking my ass right now You know, that last line at the end. I mean, just is so true. It it's you know, the hardest sport to deal with mentally and to a degree physically, but more mentally than anything. And it's such a grind. and he just says it right there the end, baseball iss kicking my ass right now. And he's just had a loss for words. I mean, I'm sure they've tried probably everything behind the scenes figure out what's happening on the road versus home. But it is and you thought maybe it would change a little bit with Cal coming back, but it has not We'll discuss that and other topics coming up next, KJ Arnes with Mitch leevving Mitch unfilter Drink Georgetown Tavern beer Your new locally brewed domestic style logger, four point two percent alcohol, cheap, good, local It's another award winning edition of KJ Arts with Mitch Levy, the star of the world renowned Mitch Unfiltered podcast where you can get it on all podcast platforms, free show coming out on Mondays, Patron shows throughout the week and he joins us here every single Thursday and you know the KJ aren't. liive and free, open to everyone during the daily puck drop at once The show is over in place to catch it is if you're a patron, mitch unfiltered or you are a Puucks Posse member. sign up today at Puucksports. com.ave you opinion about how the public is handling Wyndham Clark, Do you care? Do not care I just thought it I've never, probably like you, I've never seen anything like it And it's not so much. I couldn't really at least on the broadcast. I don't know if you could pick up on it I couldn't hear people saying anything negative to him on the broadcast other than just when the ball would roll off or he'd go into the you know, the in the wate area or into the rough, people cheering That had't he any I didn't hear any vulgar things but but I found that odd. What I found way more odd was he'd make an incredible The shot on sixteen The lag put on eighteen, the Birdie on sixteen. He and then no one would cheer. There was nothing. It was complete ss that I have never heard watch the years of watching golf. I've never heard that. And I don't think it was, I don't think the people there my opinion Really, I don't think most of them had any clue about Oakmont. Maybe some did I think it's just more about Shuffler. They wanted to see Scottty Schuffler on his birthday win The career grandsl Maybe maybe the Oakmot thing really rubs people the wrong way. I don't know why it should. how many golfers Back in the day, I'm sure Jack, I'm sure Tiger, I'm sure all of these guys have damaged a locker room at a tournament when they haven't played well. It's just there's no social media. There's no cell phones taking pictures of it. People hate the guy They do Golf fans hate Wndham Clark. Now I don't know whether he's changed anybody with the way he played through it and actually survived it and won the U.S. openpen, but people hate that guy I mean, you're on social media. peopleeople hate him They think he's a cheater. They think that his apology wasn't authentic and genuine when he first apologized for the For the Okemont incident, they just hate the guy And I don't really get it all that much. I don't get it. Have you seen how everybody's making a big deal out of the the shot out of the the Fescue the high rough Did he step behind the ball and mat down the grass behind the ball to make the shot easier or did he not have you follow that whole routine? Well that and then the amount of practice wings he was taking in there. Was he doing something nefarious with the grass to do something with it I mean, I don't know. does it lead? They h look, I would say this about that It looked Unorthodox what he was doing Well, I would say the only unorthodox to me, To me, the only a little unorthodox thing that he did in that moment was when he took the practice swing on the other side of the ball. and essentially stepped towards the ball to do it. And then he took kind of one little nothing practice swing. and that's what's got people annoyed and irritated. They think that to take that practice swing. what he did was he stepped behind the ball to make the shot easier to mat down the grass. I could I could see that. I would say I don't know. I've indifferent about them Oh you don know, I don't hate him. I don't I don't particularly love Wyndam Clark. I don't seek out to, you know, follow Wndham Clark. I think his story. I think he's got, you know, I think he's got a You know was a tough backer, a tough, you know story with his mom and all that what happened to her and Yeah know, the fact that he was a, you know, he was a decorated golfer and then just didn't materialize, but then it than it did and his battles with his, you know, mental health and all that and that's been well documented I would say the way that he handled himself that final round Yes. was a masterclass on blocking out all of the noise and channeling it your success on a final four and a half hours because I think a lot of other players probably would have broken with that. How about the way he handled himself with the media for the four days Did you like the way I mean, this is what I'm talking about, which I don't understand I can't recall when he first apologiz and how genuine it was going back last year when he kicked through the locker at Oakmont. Here's what I could tell you. He must have been asked twenty times about it for the four days. Remember, he led from Thursday night all the way toill Sunday and he was asked about it and asked about it. I individually golf channel and NBC and all that I watch. I probably saw him asked about it nine times. I was trying to think about this. nine different times he was asked about it He never was short about it. always answered it. He always said he regretted it. He wish he had a do over. He looks to earn people's Trust back He answered the question every time that he was asked like it was the first time it was asked He never showed impatience with the question or ruffled at the question. He just said and I'm paraphrasing, lookook, I did a terrible thing. I regret it That's not me. I understand while people were rooting against me. I get it I hope I just try to handle it with class and I hope that someday people will find the real me and and cheer for me.. I mean, he He came he came to me, he came across every single time Very well So I don't get why we continue to Castrate him. I don't get it Let me ask you this. I thought about this when it was happening and And then at the aftermath and then the way that Scheffler dresseded in the post game post the post round. R where he answered, I think it was about two questions and then he cut them off and said no more. Do you think Scheffler should have done something during the round because I thought that wouldn't have been a good sign, a good show of sportsmanship or something. And I don't know and I know that's putting a lot on. He's trying to win a major It's not his responsibility to police anyone. but when he's seeing it routinely of the booing of the shots or the heckling and the removing guys just He knows they're all pulling from. Does he have a responsibility at all? I don't know the the wrong answer this to Stop. What are we going? Stop I don't think so I mean, I don't think this is Sam Weish grabbing theicrophone and telling them, you live in Cleveland, you don'tve inin you live in. You' live in Cleveland, you live in Cincn. One of the greatest things. I don't think I don't think this is because anything that Scottty Schuffler does to actually acknowledge it might make it worse It's New York sports fans. It's they've been drinking all day I I mean, what is he going to do put his arms up and ask people to settle. I mean, what and I I don't I don't know. I just I was just I don't know. I was just wondering if there if there was something There was a precedent in the past of somebody doing something that he could maybe calm it down of what was taking place. I particularly like his post round stuff too. I mean, it was the biggest story And he and Schuffler's been like this all year long, by the way Short with the media, kind of a dick all year long to people And I think he's and thing is I get it he's For his standards, it's been a struggle for anybody else. It's the greatest year on the door I've had two people who were there and walking with the final group. tellell me personally after the fact that it was the worst treatment that they've ever seen an American player get on American soil Of course it happens when they go to the Rider Cubp. it gets really nasty and it gets personal and sometimes even go after spouses, wives, girlfriends, whatever But these two people both said they have never seen anything like this Any treatment like this to an American born player on American soil. That's how bad it was Yeah And it wasn't just cheering for bad shots It was as he gets over the ball hit it to the bunker. Yeah. Yeah, ye. and you heard it. I mean, it wasn't him, but Rory when Rory teed off and you've seen the video where they're telling me get the bunker and then he makes the the little And what was mter overo And what was his exact words brought it upon myself. He said that like ten different times. Yeah, he was great. He was great on he was great on the final green there with with Turico, your buddy You know, answ he just said all the right things. I hope to win you over everything. I don't, I don't know. I would say this to I wouldn't lump all of I know the guy on gof channel on what is his name? Randall Chamly. No, the other one. Amon. Amon Lynch saides, Yes. Hey this is you can never go back there never go back to Long Island. Long Island golf fans don't deserve it. I think that's unfair I mean, go ask Brian Harmon how he was treated at the open championship , you know, are we never going to go I can't remember where that was at. We never going to go back there. Brian Harman was yelled out on every shot, every single shot. And then Brian Harman's like the nicest guy on the tor And they didn't want him to win So I mean, it goes both ways. fans, fans get like this. So I wouldn't lump in and I certainly wouldn't lump in what happened at Beth Page. That's the Riter Cup when that's its own different beast and animal What do you think about yesterday's interview that Wyndam Clark did Oh yes, revealed that Yeah Banker Mayfield stole his girlfriend. That's right up your alley. I figured you would be That might have been the first thing you ask I mean He didn't steal his girlfriend. He she cheated on him with that's right. Aaker Maf. That's right He does have a type because someone showed me the the last picture when he won the when he won the US. open and then this one and I'm like, Ohh, it's the same person. like no, it's different. I'm like They look exactly the same Wh of course which of course, you only acknowledge the first U.S. openpen that he won because he woned at LACC on the West coast. So great for you to p He's really a one time U. S. openen champion because he won the one in LA and Yeah I'm going to miss you No, you're not I am. I do. I love ourt. I love chatting with you every Thursday. I'm going to miss you and I'm going to listen to your shows because you'll be on. You'll be doing shows all the time. So I'll be I'll be checking you out. There's an old joke and I can't remember it to tell you, but It involves a guy in Spain having a meal after Bll fight and they bring the the meal and they open up, you know, they pull the top from the meal and there's two huge meatball huge meatballs and he takes a bite of it and the guy next to him was hosting him He says, what is this? This is fabulous And the guy says, well, it's It's balls of the bull. I mean you're eating You're eating the delicacy of the bl that just lost And then he comes back a couple of weeks later and they has the same dinner and they pull the thing over and the balls are like this big, little tiny balls. And he said, Well, what is this And the guy says, sometime the bull wins If it's fun you desire, it's fun, you're gonna get at Flatstick Pub. It's a little different circumstances this week than last. My phone's not overheating. We got We're not in the middle of a U fourteen tournament, a fourteen U amateur baseball tournament in Pittsburgh. We got to the final eight quarter fininals. Now we got to the quarter finals and then lost unfortunately, but it was so it was fun Sorry didn't work out our connection was great L. We got it finally it it somehow it finally caught up like late that night and we think were able we were able to play. but no, no sweat. So the tournament was good. youet fun teeam did okay. Tournament was great. Our players played really, really well some Very good, fourteen you kids Uh, and there was a team from Cleveland and Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh and Maryland and New Jersey. I mean it was all over kind of, you know, mid Atlantic east Cast Northeast type of tournament and excellent fourteen year tournament. well run, a lot of high schools and colleges in that area as the fields, amazing fields turf all tur fields likes It was first class. I got a. First class. Good stuff. All right. We halfway point of the season rightight now was amazing. It's went by It went by fast. got me. What What have stood out to you I mean, there's a lot of things, you know, just the teams that are are still in it like the White sox first place in the American League Central I mean no wake. I mean, that doesn't even make sense to me. And when I watch them, it's a fun team. It's a great lesson, I think for for executives. I mean, they're in this mix and it is they I mean, they play hard, they play the game the right way. The general manager I just talked to recently, Chris Gets he said If we're in this mix in another three weeks, we're buyers. You know, and no one expected I don't even think they expected it really. They're a great story. National great story. even even with the last two nights crashhing burns against Philly. they They've had three games where absolutely should have won. They are down to the final out two times against the Phillies They had another game against the giants They had eight eightight run lead with two innings left and they they blew all three of them But yet they're still in the mix. I think the cardinals are a great story. Like we have We have like four or five good team stories. Those are three of them. I think the pirates are a really good story as well those of those fourteenams, I think three of them were ninety five losses or more last year. So you know, it doesn't happen very often. I got to really appreciate what where they are at the halfway point. Help me figure out the American League as we sit here today, there's one, two, three, four Five teams total in the American League that are over five hundred I mean, the hard part is I think, you know we always talk about is it parity mediocrity? It's showing right now that it's mediocrity at the moment. And it could change. you know, I think there's various reasons Seattle, obviously they're in good in good shape there're a couple of games over five hundred, but they've had injuries. Houston's had a I think they've led the leeague in injuries. That's why they haven't been where they are. I think if you look at the American League in the East, like there's two surprise teams. I thought Boston and Baltimore would be a lot better. Baltimore still hanging around Boston looks like they're clear sellers The other, you know, Toronto's been a little underachieving, but they're in the mix. So so I' out where you know, the central is kind of an interesting beast there because Cleveland's all of a sudden, they've come back to the back. I thought they werere going to take off. Nobody really wants to take control of the American League Central, but you know, Detroit with their injuries and underachieving. I think they're going to be better, but they need to hurry up. So I think there's like a little bit of stories, you know on that front, but I didn't think that the National League would absolutely dominate the American League so far. That has continued to happen. and I think it's a clear delineation between the two leagues in terms of the The love all of talent Do you still maintain that you think the greatest threat to New York in the American League is Seattle I do I do. I still think when I watch Seattle you know, we haven't seen the best offense and now with Cal back. Cal looks a lot better now. you know I know maybe the numbers haven't quite ticked up you know, he just hit his first homeer since the injured list there the other day. But just watching him on the rehab assignment and watching him compared to last year. he look more he looked similar more similar to last year's swing than than the early part of the of the year, his timing was way off. So I think with him coming back offensively, hopefully Donovan will be back soon. I think that offense. Im you know, Nayler needs to pick it up But it's a deeper offense overall. so I'm not worried there. I am actually more worried about the bullpin at the moment. We've talked about this the last couple of weeks They stop screwing around with with the rotation and the six man six man the way they keep doing it. to me Um they're the they're the team to to be. I don't think there's anyone else that's close. I don't think there's anyone close in the American League West. I don't think in the endisten as we saw last year, these these series, the short series, especially anything could happen. But I think those two teams are clearly and look at Tampa when they were running away with it, it seemed like now they've come ball way. They've had the worst record. I think since the end of May than anybody in the sport. So Like it's hard for me to kind of figure out everyone's going to go through these kind of ups and downs. Seattle, I think had their downs early. I'm still waiting for it start to take off, but I think it's coming It's got to be hard for Logan Gilbert. I know they all unanimously agreed to do this, but you know, he's been on a tear lately. last six starts. He's got an areA of under two. He's the American League player of the week and he's being asked to hey, your next start I need we need sixty five to seventy out of you and then we're pulling you Like I this is a guy that posts all the time and loves to go deep and try to go deep into games. And now you're asking not to do that. I know he said all the right things, but God, I got to imagine Jim, that deep down and that competitive, you know DNA of his that he cannot be happy with this No, and I don't I don't blame. I don't I dont. I think they're playing the long game We talking about the, you know, the workloads and you know, that's what's huge around the sport. likeike you see it on the position player group. No one hardardly anyone plays one hundred sixty two anymore. Hardly anyone pitches two hundred innings on the starting side So I understand in theory what they're what they're trying to do and they're trying to be, you know, careful with the workfoad. But here's the thing about the six man rotation that B bothers me. And I know it's been a hot topic. It's been a hot topic on my show. as well You know, I thought that they were going to limit it primarily to Castillo and maybe Miller. And again, you can have this argument all you want about, you know, shared a shared responsibility. But there' also when you make these decisions, there's also a nuance to them. Right. And When you look at you, you because you're trying to win And there are always exceptions. And when you look at the year rs, well, let's just take Woo and Hancock and Hancock's been fantastic. But those two guys are struggling here as of late in the month of June. Castillo over the course of this season has struggled. He's been a little better this month than the other two. like both Woo and Hancock ERA over six. Kess or Gilbert Ns in very well, they should have been building a rotation around him. Listen, everybody is going to go through this or some guys are going to go through this, but others may not. And I think that's how they should have handled the cast the Gilbert situation And he' pching as well as he is He shouldn't be included in this mix at all And that's where that's where I have the problem with with the six man. I've seen plenty of teams where they go, listen, this guy' pitching every fifth day or every six day, no matter what and everyone else You know, Buck Showwalter did it great. Now this is going back ten years now, you know, back in u I think it was fourteen twenty fourteen when they were had when they had their good run They they inserted guys they had three guys that they ran out there every fifth day and then they inserted guys based on match ups around that to give guys a rest I think you could do the same thing here. And so this is where it gets a little off track and this at the end of the year, we may this might be a distant memory, but as you're going through it right now, I don't agree with the way they've handled it at the moment We talked last week a lot about Ealdus Chapman him being available with the Mariners. You've mentioned it on your show with Jim Bodden. Hey, listen, this could be a perfect fit in Seattle Obviously with the off the field issues that happened a decade ago, they're going to be teams that are just not going to want to dance with Chapman Do you think the Mariners are one of those teams that front office and this ownership group You know, that's a good question. I don't think so. I think When you look at how he has kind of turned that story around a little bit, I mean, it's been a long time ago. He still stayed in the league. You know, he's gone through a sort of rehabilitation on his own off the field Um I think, you know, for the most part, I think that there's so few dominating starter relief pitchers like Chapman. I don't think Seattle will look at it in that regard mostost teams would not now And when I say all that, there are a lot of good relievers that I think are going to be available. I just mentioned one today in my show, Luke Weaver with the Mets. The Mets are an absolute disaster. He He is I don't think he's given up an earned run since early May. Like he's, you know, and he has there's another year with him And I feel like that's a perfect Jerry D Poto acquisition because you got them you know, under control for two years, not just one. in relief I was trying to remember the reliever that they traded for a couple of years ago that created you the whole mess in the clubhouse He's a great clubhouse guy and they got back they got back somebody who had two years or more of control probablyably going back eight years now. They didn't make the post season because of it. was it I wasn't peacock. Anyway, I'll think of it, but it's that type of acquisition for the Mariners, Luke Weaver would be. And I think there's a couple others out there like Senzateella, who that I think is a free agent in Colorado. He's pitched well as he's gone into that closure roll. L looks like Muno is starting to pitch better. So I think you need more of an eighth inning guy than you need a closer. So maybe Chapman doesn't fit for that reason and you know, and I wouldn't want to put Chapman in the eighth inning. He just he's wired differently. You know there's some guys like that that are wired differently Did the the trade that that took place on Wednesday, How did it set the market? The Mets ascending David Peterson there to the cubs for a Cole Mathis who is a minor league infield who' very sought after Yeah So what's the ripple effect of that move? Well, I thought it was interesting because You know, the Mets were offered some other guys for David Peterson back earlier in the season. It wasn't it was like a Isaiah kind of Filelefa as an example with the Red sock. He's a utility guy. They're like, no, no, we're not doing that. They But they they held you know, Al. and David Peterson has not been a good starter reallyally sinceug he was an all star last year, but August first on He had one of the worst ERAs as starting pitcher in the sport But the Cubs are desperate for starting pitching. They had Ben Brown go on the injured list and Edward Cabrera the same day. They've had a couple other starters out as well. Justin Steles had a setback. Kid Hordon like five stars now on the injured list. O' Matthew Boyd's coming back But they needed somebody badly. And so they traded for Peterson and they gave up a know he's a former second round pick He was delayed a little bit in his development because he had Tommy Johns surgery. He was a two way player in college So he can really hit and that for a guy who And some te with some teams would have said, hey, he's a release candidate. The Cubs gave that up gave up a former second round. It was like a couple years ago pushes the price tag and keeps the price tag high for any kind of pitching. Like this is kind of, you know, to me, teams are looked at this and said, hey, we want outs U Jim Bone and I went through the exercise. There's like eight teams that look like they need starting pitching out there Only eight, usually it's a dozen Half the league looking for relievers H to le, you know, and that's if everybody stays in it. So, you know, I think the fact that, you know The Cubs needed a starter and they were in a little bit of desperation mode push the price tag up on the starters, which in essence pushes them up on the relievers as well. Okay, two last things for you. Did you like how the giants handled the Deors situation or what should they have done differently you know, with the whole base running thing, I think in the end, I like how they handle in one area and I didn't like how he handle it in another The way And I'm going to take Deavvers at his word in this particular situation. He thought there was a conversation that took place about and he was he thought they were bringing a a pinch rununner in because they were concerned about his hamstring. His hamstring, he was telling him, he was fine. It was a misunderstanding They didn't. tell them ahead of time which is what the manager should have done. Hey, if you get on base this in in the night, I'm going to pinch run for you because we're going to try to tie the run with one of our fastest one of the fastest players in the league. They didn't have that conversation. That's poor communication on Tony Viteel. I'll take it a step further. Buster Posey needed to communicate with Davors after the fact, either either then or when they returned home to San Francisco, he never even spoke to them until they got to, you know, until he addressed the media. So I think there's two ways that they did not handle it well. in the end. I think it ended up being not that big of a deal when it looked bad. Okay Jazz Chisholm. Yes. we talked about this the other day. I think it's I don't know. I don't know where where people stand on this one. Obviously Iaron Boon didn't like it. He's out there playing, you know, second base with with a lollipop in his in his mouth. Where do you sit on that one? Yeah Yeah. tell you I'll answer that question with the story. So I was overseeing the minor leeagues for the Mets back in Well, it was a while ago now twenty years ago now. and I had a coach who's now a big league third base coach and had big league managing experience. He was coaching third base and he had lollipops in his mouth as he was coaching third base. And I lit him up. was I was upset I said, That's a terrible example. He goes, would you have a problem if I just if I cut the stick And I just had the lollipop in there. I said, what you might choke on it as a third base coach, you might choke on it. Absolutely not. So a guy that is actually playing in the game I'm this Dusty Baker in UL, Washington. When we were growing up, those guys played with toothpicks in their mouth I don't know how. I don't know why. I didn't I don't I don't think it was safe. But B wasn'tad he wasn't mad at that it was a safety thing. He was mad of the look. The look is bad. But how are you supposed to dive with a lollipop in your mouth? and you worry about chokey like it just was dumb. don't. I don't know who it is. I think I talked about this the other day. I think it's Aronado that does it, but I could be wrong. He's got like a bag of seeds in his back pocket. Yes. And he's constantly digging in there for seeds. Seeds all the time. And I'm like, well what's the difference? I mean, tobacco, right? There are guys that still do the tobacco are got Everything in their mouth. I mean, it's you remember guys swallowing tobacco and getting sick onbody it Yeah I don't know. I just think it's because you never see it. Yeah that the reaction and because of who the player is You know, I guess I didn't have the visceral reaction that many had, but I mean, I get it. it doesn't it doesn't m. Would you let one of your players see, that's a great question. Yeah, see because now you flip it around to me probablyrobably not. Proably not. I would right Yeah got me. All right. Happy birthday going out to one of the best ever. Now he broke my heart as a kid And he's no longer with us. boy, he was a great basketball player He was an even better humanitarian And the image of him lying on his back squeezing the basketball between his two two massive paws broke my heart as a teenager. Dkeembe Mutumbo would have been sixty years old today. He was born in the Congo nineteen sixty six fourth overall pick out of Georgetown by the Denver nuggets, Nam the NBA defensive player the year four times. traragically passed away in twenty twenty four after undergoing treatment for a brain tumor. We call it, Hey, what the Puck and it's brought to you by Tersui construction restoring what matters and building, what's next Give him a call two zero six seven nine three three seven four four visit Tsuli d. comot Well, new Blazerss owner, Tom Dundan is back at him. He wants taxpayers to pay the entire six hundred million dollars renovation of Rose Gard. I know it's called the Mot center. It's the Rose Gard Dundan on why he won't contribute money He said, quote, in an interview simply keeping the NBA franchise important was enough of a financial sacrifice Again, this is the Clayton Bennett playbook I need money. I want to stay, but if you don't, I'm forced to leave. He's been doing this since day one. The playbook has been to leave. He wants to leave He has made it evident with every move that he has made that he wants to leave the NBA needs to do the right thing. They need to step in and not allow him to pull this. They can't be doing this. Portland's too good of a market Yes, Nashville' flashy and that's been the one that one's talking about. It's a it's a market Rich tradition that has a basketball community behind it. And before people start tweeting me and texting me talking about, well, it's, you know, the political structure down there is just so it's so out of control. Why wouldn't you want to leave I'm asking you Do you think the public should pay six hundred million dollars in taxes to to renovate an arena for a billionaire owner Every one of you is going gonna answer no to that Everyone of I don't care what side of the political sphere you're on. You're gonna to answer no to that Not their responsibility to do it. He got into the business of buying the team his responsibility, but it's never been his responsibility to keep that. I think his whole goal. I think he's one to one of two things what he wants to do in down there. He either wants to try and move the team Jite number one And then number two though, I think he he's a first of all, look at his background how he made his money in the auto lending business. He's a used car salesman He's the bottom fish of the sea. He's a Cheney businessm who made his money He wants to probably just try and flip it. flip it to somebody else. I couldn't get it done. We'll sell it again to make more money. I think that's that's the option number two. NBA needs to step in though, do the right thing. don't don't You made the mistake, you know, with the with Seattle. Don't make the same mistake with the Blazers. The guy's playing the same playbook that Clayton Bennet That's how. Hey, what the puck againgain brought to you by Trsuli construction restoring. What matters in building? what's next?
