Andi it crazy that that was one of the wildest games ever that you can ever sit there and watch an NBA game. The fact is they had I don't know what were they bite twenty nine, thirty points at halftime, twenty seven point lead at some point. They scored thirty points. in the entire second half Did the San Antonio spurs. They're shooting threes left and right Darren Fox instead of getting fouled instead of just trying to dribble the clock out or do something tries to go for a layup, gets blocked and they come down and obviously get in the tip in game winner. just incredible just a wild comeback there for the Kicks obbviously aided by just some boneheed stuff there by the San Antonio sppurs and now the Nicks one game away from capturing another NBA championship for the Mariners just good and bad. It was the bad was they got, you know, I mean they lost. That's the bad seven two the good is George Kirby looked a little bit better. Well he looked a lot better. that he had in his previous outs. he strikes out ten goes in six innings thows one hundred four pitches, which is a season high. gets out of that trouble there in the third inning. the also bad of it is now Bullpin just continues to get thinner and thinner and thinner. It's already thin because you've gotone to the six man rotation, but they've just dealt with all these injuries left and right this year And the latest now with Matt Brash going on the IEL and see what kind of moves that they will have to make to make up for that. Also it was they were down a guy because of what they're doing with the rotation anyways. We'll get Jim to cet stots coming up a little bit later in the show what options are. therefore the Mariners Day. I mean, we're not close to the trade deadline. It's august third, but can obviously make moves before then. Are there options out there externally? Are there options internally for the marriits? We'll cover it all with Jim Duquet coming up a little bit later in the show. All right, coming up next. It is KJ Arn' lie with our good friend Mitchie the kid If it's fun, you desire, it's fun, you're gonna get at Flatsttick Pub. He looks rested and relaxed after spending a glorious few weeks with his family traveling like Clark W. Griswald over Europe. but new appreciation For the way other people live. ladies and gentlemen The star of Mitch Unfiltered Mitch L V KJR. Hello, sir Is it okay to be a good father and tell everybody just to get lost after you're with them for a couple of weeks? Do we all go through that or not am I the only one who can love his family, but You get to that point where you just say Okay, enough's enough. Everybody go to their quarters So everybody go to their corners, you go to that corner, you go to that everybody just needs a break from one another. Do you ever get to that point? Sure. But I would assume your kids, your wife, they get there sooner than you get there with them or no Yeah, that's probably. That's probably It's funny how these things work. You decide you're gonna go on a European like dream vacation. You're taking your family there for the very first time. I hadn't been there in forty some odd years. They had never been there anntticipation and lead up to the trip is so exciting. Everybody's You know, feeling good, throwing in ideas. Let's do this. Let's that you get on that first plane from Seattle to London nonstop, Alaska Airlines. We could hardly sleep. Everybody's in a good mood. Ebody's joking around. Ebody loves one another. The four of us are together for the first time in a long time and spirits are just great. I compare it to Bys trip to Vegas. You know the boys to Vegas going on the flight going and then compare those feelings And those vibes Ple ride back Now you've been with each other for two and a half weeks. You've been living on top of each other. You're sick and tired of each other. You're sick and tired of Europe You just want to get home. You don't want to talk to anybody on the plane. You're miserable on the the twelve hour plane ride. Don't you remember how you felt when you went back from Vegas Boy So excited going And then coming back, it's like you're miserable. You haven't slept You lost a lot of money. You've been doing nothing but drinking. You can't get home fast enough. It's just A dichotomy of two worlds. You think your boys will will sober up now that they're back stateside Well, as I told you, one of them only was there for a half h. Oh, that's right, that's right. That's right. So it led to a little bit of a complication because the little one had to generate things on his own without his brother. Sure he was fine though. I'm sure he was able to generate just as much fun as he possibly could It goes from being concerned about your son's But knowing they're together at two o'clock in the morning inondon and having that security blanket to Okaykay, one of them is out in like Paris B himself, he went and met a buddy who was over there. sureure. now he's walking back to the hotel staggering back like fricking Foster Brooks. Nobody knows who Foster Brooks is in your comes into the hotel room tripping over everything He got his mom calling him and asking to stay on the phone until you get the lobby. Oh What was wellick what was the highlight What was the highlight of anything what you saw, what you visited I'm glad you experienced. I'm glad you listened to Mitch unfiltered episode three hundred eighty five when I went over all of the highlights. Thank you very much for that. It's been a busy week. I've a I've had a busy week. It's never too busy to give Mitch some love on episode three hundred eighty five. I' sorry. What's our best open? I even did a power poll I R powerowerpool Yeah, I rank the cities in order like you see like the Seahawks one R JS. I did a I did a European power poll I did I was a food. I did it all and then youuterized. exly. The highlight For me, I'll give you the corny answer. The highlight was having the four of us together for eight days because that doesn't happen anymore cory It's legit Cny So it really didn't matter where we were. We could have been in like Stt Louis. And it would have been fine because I never get the four of us together anymore Um As far as Europe is concerned In terms of like excursions, like we did all of these tours, which I hated You know, I hated this Eiffel Tower. I hated the Louvre, I hated the Mona Lisa. I hated the Sata. I willt hate. I hated history. Okaykay, yes. I hate it. I hate kings and queens and conf I don't need it B But I will say that The churchill warrooms in London were coming. Have you done that? No. that. Okay. That was kind of cool Um We actually did a lot of segwaying around Europe. I've never been on a segway before and now I've done three tours of segways. I learned how to ride a segway, which was pretty pretty love it I did horseback riding in Tuscany O through the vineyards of Tuscan. Oh. I got a little chap in you did.es.. Can you show us No, I'm not. E the way, I thought nobody watched this. I'm glad you just asked me if I could show this I thought nobody watches her about us. Yeah. No one does. You know how many people Have written to me, even friends have texted me about me guzzling a beer in Germany on your show. you love that. were great. It was wonderful. I've never seen something like that. I think it was possible you could do it. Well, I've never done anything like that. That's why you've never seen me do anything. I know. you got out of your comfort zone. That's what I liked about it But I didn't think that anybody watched this thing. How did everybody see me guzzling a beer? I'm not really sure. It's ridiculous Text and emails. Oh, it was nice see We're bigger and better than you think. I mean, I just I don't realize what a big show this is. Jesus. I tell you what you you do you cook? did your wife What do you? Okay We went this must have been after getet me for God's sake, of course I go. Yeah Um in Rome. Yeah the last day before we came back We went to a pasta cooking class. Yeah. where we stood around a table with twenty of us. There were twenty of us there And and we made We made the pasta from scratch They made And so everybody made it from scratch. You learn how to do it. It took about an hour to do it. You diced it, you cut it the whole thing. and then you give it to them They boil it up, put a sauce on it and then they serve it to you for lunch. So you're you're eating your own pasta for lunch. Now Skeptical Mitch Levy thinks they're not really giving us our own pasta back. They're giving us something in the back Yeah throwing all ourars away There was something qu and quaint and enjoyable about you. Yeah. that's what we did. I think we talked about us last week. We did that when we' in Italy two years ago in the same same area, but we did the it was the bigger one. It was like the six seven hour thing because we went shot this guy took a shopping We picked it all out. We went to some this this house that overlooked the whole region. It was unbelievable No, that sounds actually., no no, we did a four course the whole thing. We made we made an app the appetizer, we made the pasta, we made dessert I it was unbelie So I'm on a segway in Berlin. I feel like I'm repeating the material, but I'm on a segway in Berlin. Did I tell you this? I think I I't I don't recall you telling me this. No So I'm doing a tour of Berlin on a segment whichich makes it palatable because I don't really want to do the tour of Berlin. I don't have any But I'm on a segway. so I'm zooming around and I'm flipping around and I'm I'm going off on my own and they're yelling, Hey Sir, please come back, please come back with the segway And they take us to the spot. I guess it's the Brandenburg gate. Have you been to Berlin? you've been to Germany? been Have you been to the Brandenburg gate? Okay. So it's cool for me because the last time I was in Europe was nineteen eighty three And I was actually in Berlin, but the wall was there was much Berlin. I was at checkpoint Charlie. I was scared out of my mind. Everything was operational like I was a afraid I was going to get shot in nineteen eighty three Now it's forty three years later and the wall' gone. and There's that infamous moment or famous moment where Ron Ronald Reagan, have we talked about this? He's standing there And he says, you know President Gorvachev tear down that wall, whatever he says. So we go to that spot on the segue And it's history and everybody's looking, everybody taking pictures. And then the tour guy says, now turn around And there you see a hotel. That hotel is fif thousandteen hundred dollars a night for the worst room. All the celebrities stay there And it's the hotel where Michael Jackson dangled his kid. Oh yeah put me over the That' We got all this history here It was like this is what we're going to point out. What we're going to point out And just to give you the shallow nature of Mitch Levy I enjoyed that part of theor So everybody's like, o, take us to the to the wall and I'm like, okay, was it that room Or was it that was it that I wanted to know all the Wh whereere were the photographers standing like, sir, we're we're done're we're still we're on East and West Berlin. All right? We're try in Germany. We're talking about that. When did you guys when did you guys get land? when did you get back into town? What day D a date? what was it It was the date that the mariners started losing Yeah, That's what I'm saying. So can you leave again? Yeah Be since you've come back, they're losing and we're losing bullpin arms. Munjos is all over the place Y But they lost the game right before I came back, which allowed me back in the country. Yeah in under nine games. there were going to be people like standing with rifles, not letting Mitch Yeah Yeah I landed in Seattle on that Friday, whatever that Friday. Yeah the thatr the Detroit game. So well, ye you've seen them they didn't they didn't get the sweep against Detroit, but God, they are just getting thin and that b and brashes Now in the IL again. Quion about Brash. Yeah what he got? Is he allowed to have a bad game and not end up on the DL after on the IL after b It seems like There's he can't just have a bad game. There's always got to be a physical reason why Matt Brash melts down But he was all over the place. That was just my go. couldn' throw anywh near the play was it miracably got out of that thing. backup we want for closer, right? That's the guy we I do I do find it funny. and and I get it. everyone wants. I mean, Munos has been shaky. I mean, it's obvious to everyone this year what he's been like But like the number one guy that everyone wanted was Brash. He comes in the next day is just awful. And then everyone's like, Yeah, but this Jose Ferre, he had a lot of experience with the nationals and then he was terrible It's like, well, what the hell are you going to turn the We you got to turn the ball to if you're Dan Wilson. if you ever decided to pull the plug on Moniels, which I I doubt they ever do They'd have to have a better Alternative, don't you think? Yeah, whoo is it? I don't know who it is.re the best We'll see you next week. Thank you, sir. That's aw That's it. KJ aren't in the to say. I've got more to say. I know you do. Well, go listen to the latest epode Mitch Unfiltered. It's there out every single Monday. It's got the great Steve Phillips oers on it And then this, once it's over, the only place to watch or listen to it is if you're patron mitchonfilter dot com or a Puucks Boss member of Pucksports. com. Sundays with Jim Boneen and his weekly appearance brought to you by Flatstick Pub. We'll get to Jim in just a quick second. I think he was having some audio issues, but he's back. The audio works now. Jam, how are you sir We're going to lots the cover. Obviously the marinerers injury situation with the bull pan is there help maybe externally, internally that the mariners can turn to I want to ask you about Tampa Bay and how legit they are. Terek Scoobles back. We'll get into that trade front Things that we discussed last week that I think we can pick up one more time. And then I want to ask you about the American League Sy Young race. All right Let's start with Ameritas Bolpen. They are in desperate need of probably some help. Matt Brash again going on the fifteen day IL. You've got Andres Munez who is kind of up and down has been up and down all year long They they have gone to this six man rotation, which again takes arms away from an arm away from their bullpin. What what which way do you think they go? is canan they answer this internally with something in the miners Can they or do they've got to go outside the organization and their teams willing to move right now on anyone There aren't teams willing to move right now. That's the constant theme I'm getting and talked to moreore generenal managers since we last spoke, four or five others recently And all of them are coming back saying, you know, it's all in concept, the conversation because there's just that you know, the stuff that we've talked about in the American League, mudoneyiness You know, the Orios right now, they win last night and I think they're what three and a half back in the third wild card and their their six games under five hundred. I you know, and they they don't stack up to the Mariners in my mind. but you know, there're as an example, our team, you know, Detroit still thinks they're in it. even though they're past they they're below the Orioles in the pecking order They have now Scooub will com back Saturday, maybe KaseyI Sunday that they've been playing better as of late. So I think the hard part is you got to look internally. C you Do you want to bite the bullet on to Kate Anderson as an example. Yeah and bring him up and put him in the bullpen and be a little much to ask of him to pitch at the back end at the moment. You know You want to make sure he's getting enough innings and he's gotten a decent amount. I didn't check his innings yet today where he is, but that's a guy with a huge arm You know, we've seen with other teams they start out in the bullpen, maybe maybe, you know, he becomes a long guy in the beginning, pitches well and then he grows into a dominant type of reliever towards you know a month from now. That's an idea too that I would certainly think to consider. I have not heard that being discussed within the Mariners at the moment, but that was another guy internally that I thought could help at the moment. Yeah, there was I just had on a Mitch Levy, who we do a show every week together And on his podcast, he has Steve Phips on it. I know you and Steve are probably long, long friends. Y. And Steve had brought up the idea they discussed Kid Anderson about using Kate Anderson out out of the bullpin. somethingomething that we even Ryan Davish of the Seale T times and I discussed a while back as well. He's at forty nine innings right now And he threw one hundred and nineteen a year ago at LSU Do you have any sense maybe with talking to anyone around baseball within the mors what they would like to keep them at innings wise for this year So I will the next time I talk to one of them, either Jerry, well, just or Justin, either one, I will ask that question in particular. but just based off of the history. you know, around what he did in college is the the target number. give or take give or take, you know, some of those. And I think a big part of getting his workload in is pitching on a regular basis, pitching deeper into the into the season, the length of the season, all of that. And so, you know, I think that you know, he could get to close to that number pitching out of the bullpen. You know, the hard part if you're Dan Wilson is like He's not a guy that you could use on back to back nights you know, you would want to be really, really careful in that sense. And so when you start putting restrictions on guys, it really ties the man, you know, he's already going short because he' going with a six man rotation at the moment. So there are some challenges with bringing up a young player who hasn't pitched much out of the bullpen and just new to his career and all of that. So I think I'd be really, really careful in that. and having said all that, I've seen teams manage it well. having them come in Let's say after Castillo or after Bryce Miller and just finish out the game. give us three innings. You know, go go dominate three innings. go dominate four innings, two winnings, whatever it is in that particular night. If you're winning, obviously go to Muno's late, that kind of thing. So I think it's doable. I don't know if they have the appetite for it on that. that's something that I'll look into. But I guess I guess that is You would mitch his point and Steve's point was this like If he does have an innings restraint on him whatever that number is Would it be best used to use up the end of it? up here because he could help their b and knowing that he is long term you know role with the organization is going to be as a star. I mean, he's going to be in a rotation next season. Oh yeah, we all acknowledge that. so o yeah. No well And the only way to really manage innings is to do it in minor Leagues or in this particular role. you don't want to do the operation shutdown like we saw with Strasbg back in the day. like that was embarrassing.. You know, and all does is is agitate your fan base And there's no real evidence to suggest that That was going to keep him healthy anyway, right? There are some underlying issues with his health. When they shut him down in September, he started from the very beginning So and they ran out of you know, the arbitraryit inningings pitch number. I think you can do it effectively. do it at the major leeague level. I think that to me would be make total sense. The development cycle would speed up for him, which we're seeing around the league anyyway with with pitchers and position players. So I wouldn't hesitate to do it if they think he's ready. I wouldn't be surprised if we see him. I just don't know when All right, so going back to how we originally started, just at this moment, bullpin arms, nothing's readily available. obbviously it will Maybe we'll come out here in another month or so. deeadlines august third. When we when we do get to that point, do you think it'll be a robust market I do think there'll be a lot of relievers available even though it seems like there's a lot of parity at the moment. relelief pitching is always like teams, we saw last year the giants trade you know, u Rogers, u, Tyler I it was Tyler Rogers Um And they were, you know, on the cusp of being in it. and they end up trading him for, you know, a couple of position players and it, you know, it and they backfilled it with young controllable start relievers that they wanted to see pitch more. Like there'll be plenty of examples like that where you have a proven guy U that like I, you know, I'm going to go the Red Sox with Chapman as an example. He's going to be highly sought off after I don't see them being that good Um But even if they start to come back into it, I could see them moving a Chapman, you know and going they have Garrett Whitlock, you know, he could be available, But they could also slide Whitlock into the closures rule, make Chapman available and get back prospects. That's an example of one right out of the gate. You know, I think with the Mets They have a Luke Weaver available. And I don't think they're going to make a run, but if they were, you know, they could do a little bit of both they have pitching depth in their system. So there's plenty of examples like that just on that front. I think Luas Ursig with the rooyals is a perfect fit for the Mariners because you'd have them under control for a couple more years He took a little bit of a step back recently, you know, pitching in the back end for the Royals, but his arm is electric. They just need somebody, you know, to lead up the Munos or to cover for Munos if he continues to be inconsistent. You know, I think that's where I look at their vulp right now and they're most vulnerable As we're talking trades and just looking ahead to the deadline. There there wass this note that Ken Rosenthal had had in his latest peiece and C at the athletic d. com the right the The offensive season for right handed hitters this year has been just terrible They've got an overall OPS of under seven hundred. It's like six hundred ninety six What the industry, what are they saying? Why So I'm glad you brought this up. I've had this conversation with and most most notable was with Brian Cashman, the GM of the Yankees. and He said this back there was some suggestions that they were vulnerable to left handed pitching because they're very left handed dominant. they have judge and have stanted, but most of their other offensive pieces are really good lefties You know, they brou Gold Schmid. they brought gold. this is before they even signed Goldschmidt. And he said he goes, listen trying to find good right handed hitting. They're just not there in the league anymore right now. He said this is all a cycle He goes, I don't know and he even didn't know. He goes, I don't know if if because they saw the rise of David Ortiz big Poppy as a left handed hitter that everybody decided to make their their sons left hitters. you, was there coming up as amateurs but there's far more Um quality left handed hitters versus right handed hitters. It's really hard to find them. You know, I look at this the Mariners outside of Rf Snyer who, you know has been up and down himself hitting against lefties he's got a good career there. so he will hit them. like I feel like that is another need that the Mariners could have, right? The right handed hitter, but it's hard to find those guys available and if there is one or two that are, usually the teams are holding on Yeah. the one of the guys that they mentioned in it just in terms of right handed bat and you know, we discussed last week, Mike Trout. It's something I even brought up with with Brian Davish this week about Mike Trd and he just said listen, there is he may get traded, but there's no way it's going to happen with the Mariners because of the relationship with Ari Moreno and Jerry Duoto Before I get to the other guys that Rosenthal mentioned in there You I want to ask about Buxton as well The relationship between those two, how just fractured is it between Moreno and Dapoto Well, the way it ended. so you know, a again, there's I don't want to get into too much because some of it's speculation, but you know it's been heard in the industry. At the time, Jerry Doto and Mike Sociia did not have a good relationship, right? Soia was the manager. Jerry thought there need to be a change I wouldn't say that he was wrong, but Soa Tosa's wife. We're close with Arie Moreno and Artie Moreno's wife. So if you're picking a fight That's not the fight to you're that you're going to win So Yes, was it, now partly, you know, this is Moreno's management style. He He's a get in your face, yell, scream, everything else. So if you took the job, you should have known that. you know, so there's either way you can defend it one way or the other. I don't think from Jerry side of things, he's trying to improve his team from a baseball side. I don't think it would matter to him one way or the other. I think it's more Aready Moreno. Mo didn't want to trade Otani. If you go back and look at some of the deals out there, like the Padreres had a great deal for Otani, so did Tampa. Like Junior Caminerio was was in that deal before he became Junior Camanerio. Um so And they said no to that. I don't see him, you know, and plus they would have to take back money for Tout like so he's got to take back money on Trouts and send them up to Jerry D Poto who he fired. All that does is make Moreno look bad that he, you know, ran the GM out of town. You know, like there's so many layers when these things happen. That's why it's not going to happen.. Okay. so Mike Trown, he's got the full no trade clause and So he obviously can you mix anything and orr it can just go to the organization, tell them, Hey, I'd like to be moved Is there a feeling that he just he doesn't want to be moved and he just wants to ride this out with the Angels or does he have a burden desire to go someplace to where he can win and compete for a championship So so far, he is not He has to he would be the one that would have to push. uh that narrative in that story And he hasn't been he hasn't wanted to do it. L he's a real loyal guy. this is all he's known. I think he and Moreino have a really good special, unique relationship. And all he has said from from day one is he wants to win there. Um, and so, you know, now. Now he's getting up there in age. now what is he thirty four? I think he is in that range one post season appearance, which is such a joke you know and everybody in the sport feels the same way. You would think at some point he would want to do that you know, to this point he hasn't. I think it is going to have to come him. I think it's hard to do in season because that gets out in the in the public realm. almost always the player looks bad to your own fan base He's got a great relationship with fans there too. So the best way to do it and it's under the radar is in the winter time and he would have to go he would have to go and address it that way. So that's another kind of underlying thing that I just don't see Mike Trout doing that going and pushing the envelope. Okay, one of those names that in that Rosenthal article that I've referenced several times, Sea Suzuki, what are the odds that the cubs look at moving him Well, that I mean I think he's a free agent, right? or so I guess there's an outside chance on that. here's the thing with the Cubs. they've lost twenty two of twenty nine. They have just I meanbable. I can't believe and it's You know, it' a lot of it is their offense, but their pitching is is in shambles right now too If they were to continue to slide, then I think everyone's available. And I think Suzuki would be available and that would be a great fit whether it's right field, DH or a combination of both And so that's a definite name from a bat side of things to keep an eye on. But right now You know, they are wired to win there and it's going to have to take even further collapse for them to make any of their guys available.other name that's been mentioned a lot is Byron Buxton. What do you think what I think of his market? He's under contract for two more years, I believe about the fifteen million do each so thirty million total Yeah, it's pretty affordable now when you kind of look at it now that he's figured out how to stay healthy. I think he just hit the twenty home run mark again. Just recently likeike that's incredible. He's at the twenty home run mark already. He stayed healthy, you know, knock on wood. I think that's like I heard his name mentioned last year at the deadline. He got almost got traded a couple of different times. So I think this could be the year Even though he doesn't want to, I think he has no trade clause as well U He's a guy that has the twins logo tattooed on his arm Like he's that kind of guy. grew up in the organization. So it would take I think a fair amount of convincing for him to be traded. theirir owner they went through an ownership change. It's still the same family, the Polad group, but it's the son He made a ridiculous comment this spring. He thought that they they were better than everybody thought was a post season team. They're clearly not. I think they'll make him available. But there's that always that ownership that ownership, you know issue that you run into where they're like, well, we're not trading. we're going to try to win next year and we're better with them than without. So you know, I think that that would be a unique circumstance. I'm not convinced that they'll trade them All right, Terk Subbleles back. he'll make his debut on on Saturday against Cleveland. Now how many starts he think gets in with Detroit before they ultimately will move him So I, you know, I think that they're going to run this up to close to the deadline and then decide from there. I don't like really you could get a ton for him. If he made two starts and showed that he was healthy, you could move them now before the end of June and cash in. I go back to CC Sabathia way back when he was U He was in what Milwaukee I'm sorry, he was in Cleveland. they traded him to Milwaukee that year before his free agency. he went to the Yankees. And part of that deal was a huge one. They got Michael Brantley back They got a former first roundnder. I can't remember his name off the top of my head now, but but that would be the significance. likeike we usually don't see those type of starters get moved at the deadline. They could get a lot for U But I don't think they're wired that way. I don't think their ownership' is wired that way at the moment and they're trying to make a they're trying to make a run right now with them and they haven't given up the although they don't really have a chance. They haven't given up a, you know, the outside chance that they still sign him beyond this year., you know, at the end of the year as a free agent. So, you know We'll have to wait and see a lot of that may be CBA related too that may he may look for a one year deal going back. I don't know, but I think though we're going to have to wait tntill July, maybe middle to third week of July before we see Scubble you know being shotped. Although you're hearing his name, you, fair amount here recently All right lastast thing for the American League Si Young race. It's never too early to talk about this. Yeah. Carly Kam Schlitler is is the leader in the clubhouse there with the Yankees, but don't look now. guuy that no one thought would probably be in this conversation. and he is is Emerson Hancock. Emerson Hancock is two seven four E RA It's got eight quality starts on the season He's just been terrific, but he does have an outside shot to sneak in more this conversation. If he continues to go then maybe one of those guys whether Schlitler or Martin there with the white sox and then the guy with Tampa Martinez with Tampa. they stumble And there's Emerson Hancock, which would be an incredible story out of nowhere Unbelievable story. It's an amazing story what he's done so far this year, you know, and just watching him the other night against the Oriols and, you know, during the course of the season, like it's such like I always love guys who He had that as you know, had that great resume, you know and prospect label, but just had not realized it and now it's all come together at once And man, did it feels like it went it came fast even though there had been struggles along the way. We you and I couple years ago talked about maybe packaging him up in a trade, you know, and now now he'd be a guy he's not he's untouchable. He's he's their, you know, best pitcher here this year. So yeah, hopefully, you know, as you see, the season goes on the biggest bigiggest issue for starting pitchers is starts twenty two to thirty. Those last eight or nine starts the middle of August to the end of September when the workload just adds up and you find out whether they're winter You know, whether their workload that they had in the winter was they were able to build that base at solid base so they don't run out of gas. Like that's going to be the difference, I think with Hancock Martinez had been a veteran. Davis Martin, Cam Schlitler even, you know, Schlitler is even on the younger side because, you know, he's just a full year in service time, you know at the major League level right now. So I think you hit on all the guys that I would say, you know, there might be an outside chance that rew Ras musin with Tampa, you know, would be in that mix too. I'm sure we're missing a guy, but I think that I would never rule out Jacob dee Grim just because I saw him pitch recently. I'm like, wow, that stuff is legitate again, you know, but you know, we'll see with him. but You know, I think that that's basically the group that, you know, are the front runners at the moment All right, you can you can listen to him every single day, the power alley it Airs Daily Sirus XM. alsoso the front office show Jim Bodden on Sundays on Sirius XM. Nolan Ryan the big Texas Rangers right handnder Just an amazing feat, man This is why when I watch guys today and I know back in our day blah blah blah And I see guys thow six innings and like bir just pat them on the back. He Six innings I can't even get the seven innings E innings, complete games, any of it Noan Ryan through his six career no hitter. he was at the ripe old age of forty three. when he threw his six, no hitter. The Rangers that day defeated the Oakland athletics by a score of five to nothing that happening on june eleventh, nineteen ninety A big two years later, a big day on june eleventh, nineteen ninety two. Major League baseball approved the sale officially of the Seattle Mariners to a Japanese investment group that was led by Nintendo President Hiroshi Yamai. Total sale price was a hundred and twenty five million dollars. Yamauchi's a state or his stake in the sale was seventy five million dollars. so sixty percent later reduced to forty nine percent to get the control of the team. so it is Part of the contract went down from sixty to forty nine percent. You know, he never attended The Seattle Aars game. And I thought that even when I knew he never came here to Seattle But I thought that when they went to Japan that he attended one of those games, but not Not according to reports, he never did. When they even went to Japan, he didn't he didn't go. M maybe I misread it and read the wrong article, but that's weird, right? the team just want to see him one time. He maintained his stake until his passing in twenty thirteen And Nintendo of America later sold the vast majority of its shares to a local minority investors in twenty sixteen. So they bought that team in ninet nineteen ninety two one hundred twenty five million And you want to know why owning a professional sports franchise is valuable and why people want to get involved in it Because today Forbes has value has valued the Seattle Mariners two point three five. billion dollars Just ridiculous.
