If you have been watching reality TV for a long time, you'll remember anything like Temptation Island or shows like that Paradise Island back in the day They would air a coupleed times a week and it became a nice thing to do each week, like some appointment TV, if you will, Big Bother. there's another one. And Love Island is just easy, breezy Now I would say this If you want complicated social situations, you're going to have to go somewhere else. Love Island is easy, breezy TV watching because they have nonsensical basic conversations. Like I said, it's always o my go, you like oranges? Oh my God, I like oranges too Wait, have you ever had Orange juice Okay, I'm about to blow your her back Have you ever had orange juice ice in it What about crushed ice? I that this is a conversation they will have for a leg twenty five minutes becausecause the whole point of the show is you want to stay on as long as you can and the only way you can stay on is if you feel like you're or act as if you are romantically interested in somebody. and you're in a bikini. or like some ebogger packs dropped to you You're probably somebody who has a job that's kind of like basic that you can dip in and out of because you're still trying to figure out your career. And if your career dream is to be on TV, this is probably a good way to do it. because you're going to get a lot of influencers, you're going to get a lot of brand deals. you may even get other opportunities based on how hot you are So you would really have to go the distance and talk about absolutely nothing and make people think you're hot for them That is funny to watch Like I said, you're going to watch another show, complicated dynamics. you're going to get a lot of stimulation. This one is like Put it on the background and then kind of make fun of it As I said to Anna Peel, who just wrote the book about Love Island. teenagers. I think it's fascinating to hear what they think of it My daughter last year called it chopp dialing because she said no one was interesting or hot But now she's of an age I know it's a year later, but I feel like she was saying that because maybe she didn't know how to articulate I think that person's really cute because majority stuff so I'm just telling you, it's an open conversation to have with younger people if you've got them in your house or maybe down the street or your friends kids It's kind of funny. It's really funny to hear the conversations they have on this show. So Love Island is just episodes all week. So you wantna watch that. However, I've got a list of other stuff and here we go. Below Deck is back. Now another one, it's been on for so many years. You may recall I believe it was episode one hundred fifty or one hundred fifty one. I interviewed the creator of Below Deck. He also made surreal life And this is a juggernaut And it's season eleven of Below Dck Mediterranean. So we had below deck, then we had belelow Dck Mediterranean This time it picks up in Croatia. Sandy Yon is back. She's reunited with Chief Stu Aisha And it's the same core trio from last season and they're on board a new yacht And this one looks Real nice Aisha is juggling, leading her youngest and most competitive stU team yet while also planning her wedding. Sometimes it's kind of fun to watch when the crew is a disaster, but it does give me agit up because I think of the money that somebody paid and you're seeing them sloppy and haphazardly putting things together I personally like to see People do their magic. So I'm looking forward to a well staffed team, if you will Now the new chehef Joy going to bring French flare to the galley and a love triangle And the trailer, if you watch it, is teasing this tension between Nathan and Joe They've got a deteriorating friendship, which is, of course, threatening to fracture the whole pro And the Croatian backdrop and a cast that's carrying real personal stakes is going to make this summer a real joy to watch. So below deck, Mediterranean And I feel like it gives people inspiration for trips. You know what they need to do. The new chehev Joy has, if I were on the digital team behind the show, I'd have them heard to like recipes and stuff. But again I should run a network, but I'm not. So Bravo, it's on Mondays, as you know, if you've been a long time viewer againain, a real easy breezy show to watch. Premiere's june eighth below Dck Mediterranean on Pr All right, American Ninja Warrior is back. Now this is a great show if you've got little kids at home. I know my kids always liked it as well Fun fact Creator of America Ninja Warrior was a fellow dad at the school that my kids went to and his son was really good buddies with my son So I had him on the show. If you go back in the archives So it's season eighteen of this show. And if you go back and listen to that episode, you hear How Well of an oiled machine it is They've really perfected How to make this show work so well? And there are people throughout the world that are clamoring to go and to be part of it. This season, they're going to bring in the country's elite athletes back to Las Vegas. You've got the hosts Matt and Okbar and the co host Zuri Hall And the big news this year is that the format has expanded. There's a new round called the tririple Header. It's a superersized three lane race course where ninjas go head to head in high speed side by side races. As Matt explained in a recent interview, it looks like it's done, but until two people hit that buzzer, there's always a chance So the national finals will continue the all race format introduced last season And the winner' going to take home a two hundred fifty thousand dollars prize eighteen seasons in I think it's actually kind of a meaningful structural shakeup and one that seems built for the highlighted real era which you know is what we're all watching right now. So American Ninja wararrior, super inspiring, great for little kids Season eighteen premieres on Monday, june eighth Over on Netflix, you've got season three of Outlast the Jungle. The first six episodes drop on june tenth and the final two episodes on june seventeenth. So lots that you can fit in in a week So this is Netflix's under the radar sururvival competition show, and it's made a dramatic location change So after two seasons in the Alaskan wilderness, season three drops sixteen strangers into the Panamanian jungle whereere brutal conditions and shifting alliances are going to push them to the limits The showrunner, Mikea Dare describes the move as throwing gasoline on the format because he says that the trading the frozen isolation of Alaska for the heat and volatility of Panama Tottally changed everything The survival strategy, and but also the social dynamics Now the one rule remains, you have to be part of a team to actually win And the one million dollar prize goes only to those who can hold their alliance together until the very end So if you have not watched previous seasons, this is a good entry point. It's one of the more psychologically interesting survival shows streaming right now And the great thing again is you can just watch a bunch of episodes right up at the front of the week. The first is USA ninety four, Brazil's Return to Glory This isn't just a time for the World Cup because it revisits one of the most iconic moments in soccer history It revisits Brazil's quest for a fourth World Cup star featuring interviews and never before seen footage shot by the players themselves So a rare format Athletes as their own cinematographers, and the timing is obviously intentional because it lands right as the tournament kicks off on home soil for the first time in thirty two years. So I don't want to give any spoilers here, but if you've been following the tournament at all, you already know the story has a remarkable second act Totally worth watching is companion viewing to the games as well Norway, the Dark Horse on Netflix Could be great to watch with your kids, even if they don't play soccer, who cares Everyone loves a great sports story because it reminds us of our own capacity for victory and pushing our limits All of that stuff's great. Norway the Dark Horse on Netflix June night Now this dock I've been super pumped about, and I need you to know that I will be interviewing somebody associated with this And it's gonna to be another one of those what? documentaries? It is called Maternal Instinct and it airs on Friday, june twelfth. So This one's kind of hard to summarize without giving away the twist, but the setup alone is disturbing enough in a small East Texas town, by the way, I it was just in East Texas. There's a young woman from a wealthy family that falls for a local hog trapper. Now the relationship appears perfect And within months, She's pregnant, she's proudly showing off her baby bump all over social media But when a state trooper pulls over this young woman and discovers that she's just given birth in her car Her story quickly falls apart and it exposes the truth behind a terrifying and unthinkable crime It's a true crime doc and the final line is doing a lot of work. File this under disturbing thingsings that actually happened Eternal Instinct Netflix, Friday, june twelfth. I believe I'm doing an interview on Friday.
