I was hanging around with the twins from Funhouse Remember them What B O. They also I've looked them up So the Melanie and Martina, than you are done. Some of you remember a bit too well. You're going to like this little digression Did you know they as children, they appeared in the Every Sperm is sacred song in Mont Python's Meaning of Life Did you know they've written an album called a Twin Th Did you know you can book them for a party if you go to their website? They're fifty one years old Best know, if you want the twins from Funhouse. I'm kind of tempted Just to book 'em and haveem comerad' m You just sit in the corner Yeah saying this is the pie Um, Pretty good They call it Rellister, but anyway, that's what they do. They still look good. So they still look good. Yeah, my wife went out on Saturday night, went out with her her friendope got local friends which she has I't yone in Hertfordshire and so I stay in a lot. So I had the whole night to myself I could do anything I watch Death in Paradise. I won I player That is what I've become. Your wife goes out. I love deaath in Paradise. I'm trying to get Ralph a little on to the show. He's been difficult to get on. What if you are on St Marie and trying to commit a murder Don't come up with like an intricate plot involving make it impossible to solve. There's a bloke on the island who's really good at doing that Just whack someone over the head with a brick and run away and sayy I wna be on death in paradise and just that's my murder. There's no clues No, theren't four suspects. There's no suspects And it's just me hiding in it toyt or something Till Rath Little comes in. It's an extraordinary show to watch deeath in Paradise? like this. If didn't watch Dath and you don't know the twins from Fun House, you don't know why don't you And you don't know Dath in Paradise is at least current, but admittedly only watched by really people in their seventies in paradises It's the only show I can think of where it doesn't matter who's in it,' still as good. You can change every single character in it no one would give a fuck I ha' haven't given any people I love that character. They're good they're good characters They can leave the M carry on watching it It's amazing. It doesn't matter it's exactly the same every week There's a young person who's a suspect in the murder who seems not to be connected to anyone else, and then it turns out that they're the child of one of the people Every sle wee. I love it and the people who make it listen to this show, so I'm going to be really nice about it because I mainly want to be on it. but' I don't mind just being in one episode, but I think be that bike could be Ralph Ralph Lill Alo Hland, isn't he an that does hard can do it. I'm not watching the ones set in England though. that is against God in nature No Nope, not j gelling with the audience today on the death in Paradise, which is a shame because that's all I'm inclining to talk to our guests about this week I guess this week is probably best known for playing Terome Vincent in Death in Paradise. Will you please welcome Kyl Smith by now, ladies and gentlemen. Oh there he is. Come in Welcome. Hello. How you doing I'm good, mate you? I'm really good. We talked to each other in lockdown oom. Yeah, yeah yeah. But we've never actually met in person before No was until today. I mean, we met backstage. Yes this isn't the. Yeah we took a picture. We did, had a chat. It was very nice. Yeah Tell me you'll never know what happened unless you become to join ACS plus and then you can watch the video Or if you're a badger as well, we're meant to give it to them, but we do.. So how was death in Paradise? Was it as good as I imagine it is to go to Quite a loop is it? Yeah. what do you imagine I imagine well what I'd really would like to be is be the bloke who's murdered in the first act. Right. Be sometimes they come back in, Oftten they don't Then you just go, do one day's filming and then you have a three days holiday in the Caribbean I could do better that, okay We're talking Three days. Th I did have it. Yeah We're talking He it from here, yeah Yeah. We're talking three weeks. Yeah nine days filming. Wow. Are you kidding me That never happens I couldn't believe it when they told me I was going. I think it was something to do with COVID. Yeah Because I had COVID when I went went No when I went I had COVID just just before I think it was like the beginning of December. Yeah. and I had COVID in November And then there was some sort of technicality about fly in And they wanted to get me there earlier. But I don't understand. I was just like, I just said yes. So you were at for three weeks and work I working a bit. Yeah, yeah. That'sly two weeks, not wor. Yeah, yeah. ye This guy was in waterfalls. Jet skiing swimming with tolls I did all of it. I got an ear infection. I did a lot Everything there is to do Guanu. and Yeah it was great. It was amazing. I mean, I couldn' I couldn't drink for a week because I was antibiotics because of the infection sure. Aside from that, Wonderful time. I just want to sit in the bar that's in the show. Yeah and drink be. and I don't even drink anymore but I would drink if I. Yeah, you've got to. You've got to drink beerers Yeah, yeah.. It's amazing. And do all the actors Fuck each other for three weeks as well. I don't think the actors o Not the act No. Fruit, yeah They be fucking. But here. That's all I. Yeah, not me. I actually took my You know. you know what? As I started at centers I could film my a aging againame Um I took someone out there that I shouldn't have taken out. It's the end We going to come back to it. No I have a feeling this whole podcast isn't going out already. that's why's going to be welcome, Kyl. sorry, we have to go Wh do we have to go The creepy fuckingough Oh boy I mean, it must be so easy to work on that show now because it's the same every week So the crew can prod the fuck while you while you do ye. Yeah yeah It runs itself. It lights itself and the s. They know what it is doing. Yeah yeah, yeah It's great It's a show. I'm telling you, I mean, it's a great show. Do watch it if don't watch it's I've seen every single episode. You know what? I can't remember a fucking thing about a single one of them though. N I've seen your episode and I thought I should watch it again. thought No, no Don't remember. you played quite sort of our character nast you were a nast. Yeah I was a bad boy. Yeah Yeah. that must have been nice. It was funally. Yeah Yeah, it was great. I got to run and get chased by the police I like that scene that's in every week. I enjoy that yeah, so I got to do that. We had a stunt guy who came and taught us how to like Forow punches and stuff. okay That was a bit of fun. Those guys are always I always feel sorry for those guys because U there's not much to do. You know, but obviously he'd like he was on holiday. He got flown out. He put his wife? Yeah. I should have taken my wife. I took someone out? Yeah, he came out there and it's sort like, yeah, so what you want to do? you want to if you cluck him like this way because the camera iss going to be like that, so he turns his head like and it's like You've done an eight hours flight for this And it's like, yeah, of course I'm going to do that.s that's how you punch. You learn on stage combat. Of course. But everyveryone's been to drama school though they does death. What? Robert Webb was he's not been to drama school. Really? He wouldn't know how to punch Really? In real life or pretending. Shit. When I did stage comombat at drama school, we did the sword fighting bit and I in dramas In some drama schools, definitely mine, you had to have ninety percent attendance to pass the year And it was one of the So it' sort if you only take leave or absence if you're extremely ill, like because you don't want to redo the year Yeah off course. becausecause you're paying for it as well and blah. Anyway I was radio, so I was off for maybe a week And I missed the day when we were pairing people for stage combat. So I got left Aain, and this is just like going be available. It iss gonna go out. It is gonna go out. No, it was ten years ago. she might have forgotten. Okay My partner was shit. Real bad. to the point where Like the only there's probably like two rules in this stage combat like sword fighting thing, which and one of them is like, don't let go of the Sword ye And other one was like, don't stab each other and Chgo of the sort. Oh To the point where it landed underneath the examiners's legs Like right here. facing upwards And she was like, okay, that's enough. that's And we both got We both Fast But with a minimum It not that Maximum, the maximum you need to no the minimum you need to pass It was bad. I mean, I can't believe you pass if you nearly stabbed the ex. I didn't. No, but she did. She did. And you were also in the fight. And I was in the fight Yeah But I think because of the danger of doing it again, she was just like, A U so I think that's why I why I passed but also I ask fuming because I mean, no one looks at the numbers that you get. If you get like sixty out of one hundred and twenty. Yeah. No one's looking at that You just see AB or C. R. But I was like, yeah, it was the minimum that we needed to pass. And I was like, I could have actually done this if I wasn't ill for that you were ill For the parent. Yeah. And because of that, I never got ill again. Have you used your sword fighting very much in your way? Not once, never No But I was working in a writer's room with a writer called Madeeline, who was telling me that she does fencing in her spare time. That's her hobby And I don't any hobbies So I'm really interested in maybe starting that. Yeah a bit of fencing. Wow But also why you might get might get stabbed? Yeah, true AP is that what they're called Oh what? Is it called name? Oh, I know nothing about it Yeah. It is We took a picture earlier and I'm worried that it's blurry. Is it okay I was actually thinking about that back state, Oh that I pict is gonna be bluring, man I was one I was once cast as Hamlet in this I've never told the story. I think in a it was going to be a lunchtime show like in the West End going to run for a week and they're going to do loads of sketches about Hamlet that from different places And I was cast sketches. like sketches about Hamlet. It was going to be like a lunchime review But all the sketches were based around Oh okay. So something of written by people like Tom Stopper. they werere old sketch. Yeah U I was misscast. I wasn't very good. I was quite funny but wasn't I wasn't Hamlt And we had to do one bit of sword fighting and rehearsals and we started doing it and I kind of thw I think I threw my arm And they all went mental I don't like that. Th then the next day was sex. Bea I did something you weren'tant to do in the fight. I don't think it was just because of that. I was dog shit. Right, R The job But it was like I'd just come to London. It was I was so excited. I'd been I tried I'd audition for they read it Beyond the frringe at the Edinburgh frre So they they recast it and do it as an anniversary thing. Id audition for that and they'd likek to be in that but not giving me the job in I'm quite glad because it was it I don't know what happened to bit it win a shit, right And so then they cast me they cast me in this R? Right of a shit, rightight? you're the arbiter of the potates there. But you just reminded me of that Kate Copstick was in it? He's now the Scotsman it right name Cake Copstick. Cake Copstick now I like it. Good. I'll take it. G. Well that's very exciting. So you went to drama school. Yeah did you you're saying backstage that you'd sort of decided what you wanted to be that you knew you were ye. Yeah I'd always wanted act. Yeah. There's nothing else. I mean yeah, It's quite hard to get into drama school, right? So Yeah, yeah, I auditioned for six and I got into one. Right Um But to be fair, some of them was dog shit. In fact, my Rider audition was probably the worst action I've ever done in my life I think to the point where afterwards the guys sat me down and two people who were on the panel and they were like Why don't you think about what you really want to do? Really? Yeah, yeah I was doing a monologue from a play that I'd done in six foold which is called Under Milkwood by Dylan Thomas. Thomas, thank you. And as I told them what I was about to do The guy was like, Oh, really, I've just played that part. R Why are you telling me that, bro J just played I've just been playing that part And then obviously I was nervous anyway and I was in there and this is gonna sound made up But I was in the The casting room before you go it, you get taken into the room by yourself You're in the holding room with other actors who are auditioning as well. And there was a boy honestly said that he was only auditioning because his granddad was on the board and told him that he should And he was in a to blaz that. It's like someone had written it. Yeah And it was Benedict Kumberbatch might be. And yeah, and I was really nervous anyway, just because Roda has this name and I was that yeah, and I went there and afterwards they were like, okay, I don't even think they let me finish. I think I did it a few times and I stumbled and stopped and they were like, Come sit down And they told me to go and get some life experience Right. Yeah because you were young. I was young. I was eighteen. Yeah. I went straight out of six four and it's quite. Ballsy to Rod is like the the big Yeah, ye, isn't it?' kind of ballsy to high, isn't it? Yeah. No, I'm glad I'm glad I went to Es fifteen. Yeah. Yeah. I loved it A lot of people didn't There are fifty three people in my ear. Yeah, which doesn't sound like much, but a normal year for drama school is like thirty. And because of an admin error. There were fifty three people in my ear which if you're a blond girl Blood white gir. in of a year of fifty three, there's probably going to be fourteen to fifteen other blond white girl. Yeah. If you're a black boy There's two of us, onene short of fat, I'm to to thin. Sorted. notothing to worry about. I had a great time. I genuinely did. I had a really good time I mean, obviously there were some questionable things going on. Eastfty is a bit like, tryry this. takeake your clothes off But I mean, yeah, I sort of I felt like I really learned a lot Yeah and had a good time. Yeahah. Yeah. And you went straight into a job pretty much you you did White Chapel. Yeah, ye White Chapel was the next year. So yeah, I left twenty ten. I did White Chapel twenty eleven And then for the next three years I did Cool center. Working in a call center. Selllling magazines. Yeah. U I was really good at it though. Hey, listen, I was really good in it. so I didn't do it much So like I learned I was good at it. I was like, I can make my money doing this and then I worked out the way to not work. and still make an all right amount of money. All right. And then four years later I got fired because I hadn't done any work in three years You haven't done anything in ages I was like, yeah, yeah. But I got away withough. Yeah. That's good. I did I did selling and I sold nothing and then I got s. Yeah like very quickly. Right. Yeah, I managed to drag it out for three years. Yeah. Yeah. I' kind of find it interesting. So you that did that kind of funund you through the early years, you must have been getting a few jobs through that time Not really. I was doing like TIE, which is like theater and education when you go and you go to schools and tell them not to bully each other or get pregnant Um And I did like a lot of that. And then I started doing corporate roleplay, which was great because I was doing like medical roleplay and social workers that was like a big one that kept me busy on interview technique as well So I'd go in and be really bad at interview to the point where the people in the interview had to the people who were watching had to said no this is how you do it. and then give me tips, but I'd still do what they told me badly to the point where they want to get up and do it. and then they do it themselves and that's how they learn. Yeah But yeah, I really enjoyed doing all of that stuff So you did a sketch I saw I was watching a sketch just in the dress room earlier with where you were you did a sort of prank show. wasas it called Webscam where you interviewed where you were Yeah, where you were the interviewer. And you interviewed real people online. Yeah then everything sort of went it was obviously you were doing Yeah and your mum was coming in Yeah showing your bunk beds behind the screen is Yeah It was very funny. It was good. was that just a one off was that b? Yeah, it was yeah. I think they did like six shorts. Right I pay like twelve pounds for us hes. It was Yeah, I remember that it was You really do research. Do a research I've got to go the second time you've been on, got to Yeah, it' true,'s tr. do go to. We talk about spend spend spend all the time. I'm glad you got the name wrong. How was it called Safe sa? No no, no it was called that. Yeahah, yeah, sure, sh. Saave safe save, yeah, yeah, yeah Don't cont 're Noel Emonds, but what I got listen to the other podcast. G Wikipedia page from your podcast. Did he? Yeah? Oh, yeah, ' you didn't have one. Yeah, I didn't have one. Good. And then I kicked off. Yeah. Well you should have. And because you own the internet, it happenens. Yeah, well, I do. I'm very you know, you can just set up your own Wikipedia page, but someone else's own food is even better. Yeah. What could I get this time? H Ill think about it. What do you want? I can get you only Only fans, would do only fans U Hm You can sort of do anything on there though, right? I think so. yeah. you just sellate whatever your fans want to see. Yeah yeah. You can do for them? I don't know why this is the first thing that came into my head But the The sentence that was in my mind was I could do Kick cups with an egg I'd pay for that. I would pay if if it's not boiled if the eggs and unbiled No no is R Rw fresh. That bit's raw I tried to set up an O fans account for my female venturkus stummy that's one hundred and thirty one years old that my great granddad made And I was going to make her do sort of sexy things for the nerd to watch my podcast of that But they only fans didn't allow me Why? I apparently having a picture of a weird vventure' Dummy wasn't acceptable for them. I might have just set up wrong. Someone's gonna to hear this and be like. I hope doesn. believe me, I think I could make a fortune in that. Yes But, you know It's al right I was wanked off by Stuart Lee with One of the dummies on, so Pam A lot of his fans would pay just to be wanked off by the same Dumby that he's wanked someone off. I didn't need to know that I say they wacked off it wasn't it wasn't to completion. ust practice that And from that, let's talk about the thing that you are here to talk about which what is that? What is that? Itream' Dreamland. Oh yees. sereries in Dreamland, which I've seen the first episode of before everyone else. And I'm going to everyone in this audience, all of my fans will watch this show because your first scene involves applying oil to Martha Jones' off of Dror Who's Perineum. And now you've heard that. the joke. Oh R That was her name in Dotor Yeaman. I never seen Dottu Well she I'd be interested to know what happened. She was in Doctor Who, right? Martha Jones, rememember her And then she just suddenly wasn't in Doctor anymore. America. was it? She's making money in America. is she doing this? Yeah has gone off. It was her choice. Yeah, yeah, yeah I don't know. don I don't know anything about D. two. Okay. I get two. I got Senor. two DVD once Yeah U for no reason B do you know who it? It it was a blue ray. Becky was a blue ray Yeah U that's major.es. She'll be in touch after the show Uh yeah, I got sent a blue ray. I don't really know what a blue blue ray is. Yeah, And even if it was a DVD Wh's got DVDP? Nobody So yeah, but that's all I know about the you I look like a fan ice Con't be a fan of me I'm not in it. be good adopt, but let's talk about this. it's it's someone just tell us what the the tell because I don't want to 'causeuse it's not out yet. Yeah when we're doing this. I don't want to give anything away I'm really bad at this. Yeah ye ye U I I do it? It's about. Four sisters. There's three sisters and their mum is Francces Barbbera and their grandma is still alive incredibly and there's a very old lady who's quite cool. And then one of them' having a baby, your wife. Yes. Martha Jones from Dctor Who? Yes, having a baby. And then Lily I was gonna to say Lily Savage turns up that would be a bit. that would be a bit. I'm gonna to rewrite this show Live a savage ter Lily Allen turns up and she's she's an estranged sister. Yeah. And so it's about intergenerational women It is yeah. obious and then you're in the middle. And then I' around Yeah. Yeah I play the husband of the eldest sister Yeah that Freemer plays who's Martha Jones from Doctor T. is Mara Jones Do. Yeah, I play a husband and we're expecting our third child. U and Yeah, Chaos in the seas. It does. It's great. It's really it's a lot going on in the first episode. it's a lot of fun, I think Lad's going on and brilliant cast a brilliant writer Sarah Kendall's involved in. Yeah Berman, which is S Hogan Sharon Horganss come just I got her name for a second and then broke down. Saron Horgan, who's a previous winner guest and it's an absolute fantastic.'s got like great pedigree. Yeah, yeah. And it's on Sky. It's got to be on Sky, yeah yeah So buy a Sky boox. I think that's what I was meant to say? Yeah You can probably watch it on now. Absolute contract, I think I've got tell people to buy a skybx. Probably watch it on now TV. No, I don't know you've got a bad that box boy. Okay Buy it I don't you have to absolute about two skkybxes.. You gott to get an outside aerial. Yeah, yeah, yeah D don't anymore I'm not going do a free advert for Sky Take me, Sky about. They'll probably they'll probably be back now. I saw Sky at the back Yeah ver. there Yeah, that's what that's yeah, that's what it's about. So I spent a summer in Margay, which was really nice. It was really nice. it And let me tell you something. Yeah See in the sunset at the end of your working day Lovely L Guadelalupe, Like being in Gadalupe? Yeah You' li in the Linus the E infection. It's great. Why go to Guadaloope when you can go to Margate? Yeah Actually, there are a few in this. But it was really nice. Yeah, I thoroughly enjoyed it. And we did like I think it was four weeks in Margaret and two weeks in London, something like that. Yeah. Yeah, it was nias M people, great food. good, which is what I always equates to being a good job. Yeah. I heard you talk I listened to you on Scrubbyous Pixed podcast. Yeah talked for quite a long time about your favorite day of catering. I can't believe this stuff, man So for w. Yeah. Oh gosh. So that's a important thing when youre take Yeah a new job. Yeah, yeah yeah. cheheck out the catering. Yeah. And I just work out on the first day if I'm going to be fuming or not for the rest of for six weeks. But no, it's been it was great. It was really good and they've got nice restaurants in Margay. Everything closes a bit too early for my liking. Yeah you you're a young man. Yeah I'm still tired though. Don't get me wrong. Okay. Your boyys shattered.. But yeah, like I like food and I like eating late. and that wasn't really an option in Marget. Like I said, you get to see the sunset at the end of your working day. That's a nice thing to say. Yeah it is. I remember going on a holiday. Thail, I was in Thailand for about six weeks and for about four weeks. We just sat on a beach in the evening And I watched the sun go down and it's kind of almost my favorite thing that I've done in my life. Yeah apart from marrying my wife and having children But there's something really lovely about just watching the sun go from there out there and then til it's gone. I took my mom to Barbados for Christmasice And we did that every day. Yeah. Every day was just a different beach. sorry, every day was a different beach. And yeah, just watched the sunset. It was great. Your mum musk to Gadal you should just. She wishes That's a different thing. Well, look, you've been in everything and we didn't talk about this before, but Sffet's fllats is fantastic that I know people will love. And you've worked with Jamie again on his new Netflix show. Yeah yeah. Is there anything you can tell us about that? Beuse I'm very because I haven't seen it because it won' send me a fucking link. You were in it though, right? So I don't know what their problem is, man. What do they think I'm gonna do? Like I've been begging for I went to two screenings. I haven't seen it. What happened I was late to both, okay? But still, look I'm in the show. Snd me a link. Yeah. And then today I'm messing my publicist, Emmilyily Hargves and I asked her, I was like, comeome overbody, get us a link. And she was like, Ohh yeah, yeah, what okay, well what's your Netflix email? And I was like, shhit I don't have that I use somebody else. And then I was sort of worried that they were going to like send her an email and then she'd have to approve it and I mean, I don't talk anymore. so it's not like it's not like I'll be able to just get that easily. So then I had to message another one of my friends whose netflix I could use. And I finally got through to her found out that she' her mums then got the email, okayed it all, sent it to Emily and Emily was like, no, they're not sending it out What? So I have to wait and watch it with everyone else. Yeah. Well by the time this p pod offs goes out, it will be out Oh yeah, Yeah yeah yeah. This is out tomorrow, right? Yeahes' out tomorrow. Yeah What was it like? What's going on? What did you doing it? Unfortunately, I was working on Unfortunately, I wasn't able to be in it as much as I originally wanted to do and it was arts to. Because I was doing something else. probably what I was doing at. I mean, you're in everything. I. Sort of. You are in everything. I'm not in the bill. I'm not in the bill. We got talk about the bill. the bill doesn't exist. We're bringing back the bill Im not in the bill and I'm not in phone shop They could put you in phhone shhop easy. I'd love that. Yeah. I mean, they also don't make phhone shop anymore. They don't. But but they can bring that back and put you in. Oh man, I wanted to be in those two shows I wanted to be in real bed. I think they're the only two things that I'm like quite upset about the fact I'm not him. I mean, that's, you know, that's greedy, though because you' in Yeah, you're in all the shows. So you can't go upnight those two. That's not fair M No, I can't. No I cant. I'm doing it now I want to be in phhone shop and the bill. Bring it back For me. I think they will though. You are getting to that point. It in what I told you in lockdown and it was that was an interesting time for you because things were happening and then not happening, but then you still were filming stuff during lockdown. But it was very clear twoo or three years ago you know, you are on this very upward trajectory. And so it's going to get to the point where you can go I think you should bring back the bill. I should be. I should bring the policeman with the big nose in it. You could be that guy Bob Cryer Is the name I wanted. Is it Bob Cryer? Is that before your time with Bill? I don't know what you talk about. Bob Cry. I don't know Bob Cryer in the b. Do it. D you to watch? Why don't you know? Do you remember the twins from Fun House Oh yeah, I was really hoping that when you announced me to come out they'd play the Fun House theme that We can put that on it L look at Amy he's not gonna do anything What was he doing? I don't know who he is. Iess he' back there every week He loves the show. He looks really serious actually. I was watching him like as you were talking, I was like, I've gota make this guy laugh Oh yeah, not George, easer enough all We willll put that on except I don't want to have to pay for any money. So what it will be is me singing what I imagine the fun house theme tune is. Right' going C funun house. It's a whole lot of fun. prised to be one. Use your money and your brain. And I shouldn't know this because I was about twenty four when Fun House came out. Use your money and your brain if you w to win the game, Funhouse, there's a couple of twins in it. you wna fuckem together. Come on admit it. even though he's thirteen. That's why they're there. P pat sharks probably doneem That's what's going play That's what's going to play as you come on. when I say we're going to cut that out and put that back Well you can't deny is that it's accurate. They were nice. They were nice girls. Yeah ye. Let's talk about ghosts Yeah We'd love those about. It's fantastic. It's going for strength to strength,. It's staying brilliant. I read that you lookooked, but there's real ghosts Imagined ghosts. The real imagined ghosts in the place that it's filmed, right? that you Yeah apparently it's haunted. It's haunted already. Apparently it's haunted. and some people have said that they've seen goings on. Yeah Also the hotel that we stay in is also haunted And Roger Moore said that he was haunted in that hotel.. And I believe him Um And he could now haunt the hotel. Yeah, he could if he wanted to come back. Yeah. Not my room please. Yeah, there's a lot of ghosts around. But did have you haven't seen a damn thing? No No. Have you ever done an interview where since ghosts where you haven't been asked if you've ever seen a ghost? Fucking I sicker that qu. No, it not it's not if I've seen him, it's if I believe in them. Oh, if you believe in them. Do you believe in them So yeah, ghost is fun Michella you went looking for them. I did go looking for them. you didn't find them, Nothing. How do the real ghosts in the house that ghost is filmed in feel about people filming a thing about ghosts? they're sitting back going, this isn't wise like But this is offensive to me as a ghost. Well what I think about that is that they've never actually seen the show. No, but they've seen you They've seen Yeah, yeah yeah. So they don't know what's made it in. I have no idea. I was glad to see in another interview, you said that when you went back to I think series three, it took you a little while to remember not to look at the people who were coming. Yeah. I just missed my friendsn'? I was like, Oh, there again. Mid seemam. Hi, Jim Yeah, it takes a while to remember that. Beuse it's like nine months later we film after finishing. and I'm like, Oh yeah act and acting and acting. And remember It's hard enough not looking at the camera. Yeah it is. And I've got nine people that I'm not allowed to look at as well yeah, so it's quet it takes a while. Yeah. Yeah. because I the last when I filmed my thing relativity because I'd written it, what they told me I was doing was I was looking at the next person who was going talk before Because I knew exactly what was going to happen. that was bad.ad acting. That is quite bad.. At least you weren't mouthing the lines as they were saying it. D don't think I was Yeah. I might have. Really? I did a play in Adelaide for Adelaide Fringe in twenty nineteen. It's the worst decision of my professional career Guinely. And I was working with someone who was mouthing the words as I was sayiling. And what do you do in that situation? Because that's not like just a day of filming. That's like you're doing that Yeah, yeah it was for a month. Yeah So did you say anything or did you just No no, no, there was no say in that N say. No. She was a writer and a director and the owner of the company. Oh That is bad because Oh it was terrible. Beuse I was gonna say you could ask the director to Oh yeah But yeah, I mean, that's a whole different story. I was there for a month and it was That's a weird. 'cause like twenty nineteen, you were doing very well. You were in lots of things. Wh Why did't you go to Australia? Jamie Dmetitri talks about this all the time. Yeah. And he's like. He's like, whyy the fuck did you go to Adelaide? And it was so bad There was a full time clown who was part of the company I'm just giving a moment for people to go like, What's a full time plan Full time allown. But not in the show, just to entertain you when you were Oh no, she was part of the she was like the puppeteer. Okay, yeah Yeah. sounds great. What I would say something I'd do in my attic. It It was not It was not great. o. There are so many bad parts, but what I think is the worst part is that The person who was the puppeter of the full time clown was unplugging the Wiifi to plug in a lamp. so that she could smoke and tap dance outside Adelaide Finge. When I was in Adelaide, I went to the Adelaide Finge to do comedy. was the comedy fringe It was a year off. It was sort of an unofficial comedy thing We went on a boat trip to Kangaroo Island and did you go to Kangaroo Island? No, I didn't. I think Michael Smiley told me about that.angarland. And we hired Davey Johns, who's been a guest on before. We've probably talked about this liked met this girl who was a clown, I think quite liked her. And She wasit. He paid her to come on the trip with us, but because he was paying her, she had to come as a clown So we acc comppany she was great and know I'vet met her many times and she's been over in England. She's called French, She's great. But wei we went on a trip to Kangaroo Island with a clan. It was great It was great It's sort of the best things that's ever happened. with and the sunset? Right. Those are most brilliant too. Wonderful.ro I'd probably watch the sunset with a clown that day J us.. So, I think you know, clowns are big in Adelaide is what I'm saying. Yeah. I think that's a big that's a big part of their culture. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we shouldn't joke about Oh, I wasn't joking. Do you think we're gonna I was? Do you think we're going be able to put any of this into you out? C the funun house B will stay F house B will definitely stay in the house. It's gonna be a fun house. me singing the funun house theme. not the second bit. You coming on going off. It's good. I don't mind as' well thirteen minutes. That's all you need. Podcast should be thirteen minutes. So you are you're filming like series sereries five Yeah we're filming sereries five now. Fucking incredible. I mean, it's gonna go on though. And well I was saying to Matt and Jim were on for Christmas and I said it could go on For a while, but as the ghosts aren't allowed to get any older, there's gonna to come a cutoff point right. They will just spend longer in makeup. Yeah They'll come a point where they can't they can't do it anymore. Yeah, yeah. But look what they did in the Irishman We'll just do that. Yeah That's true. C was it CJI? What was it called? CJI? I mean, it's yeah, some kind of Is it V efface Fals fious. I't Would you carry on doing it forever? I mean, I want your character to die and become a ghost, No offend. What? I can't believe that Would you like that then you can look at the other actors? That would be nice. Yeahah. finally. I can gaze into Ben Wilbond's eyes. Yeah, that would be nice. I mean there's load there's a lot of fan fiction about goes. And some of it is too sexy. Some of it is fill. These fourteen year olds wr in some crazy shit. Yeah, I mean yeah, I'd love to there's so many stories to explore. But of course now that there's an American version, and they've already done more episodes than us in the two years that they've been running. It's incredible There's a lot of ideas that they sort of like worry that are trending on toes and things like that It's interesting. I've watched you haven't watched the American version. No I have watched the American version. Right. Guy who does your part really good. So what? Really? He's my favourite character. I don't understand what you He's so good. But I tell you what's interesting is he they he sort of there's things I don't like about it. They there's a lot of romance between the ghost, which is really It's not required. And they're be fucking? I think you know they're heading towards that way, but it also doesn't make sense because they haven't been fucking until now now suddenly they're being fixed up. Oh because there's people to watch. other quter. But I like that, but there's more interaction between the husband and the ghost because really? He sort of believes in them quicker, I would say, but also so they play dungeons and Dragons. I don't know how much I can't remember if some of it's been in the English version But they play Dungeons and Dragons and then he becomes pretty friendly with the guy with the arrow through his neck.ight. And so and the wife' more of an intermediary between the ghosts and him Right in your version. as you say, you're sort of an island. you're isolated. Yeah, yeah from his. Well, you know what I'm really happy for them and I'm glad that they're all millionaires Because you've got no skin in the game of the Nx Korea. A fucking penny. Nothing These guys are that They're on like seventy K an episode of doing a hundred episodes of series But then all your co stars in England, most of them created the show. so they if it goes to enough episodes. Yeah, they're gonna start getting. Yeah, but they keep saying like, oh, we've got a spit between six of it's b. It' still be alive. Yeah Yeah, That's what I said. But they keep pretending to us that they're getting like forty pounds. But I'm noticing that Simon Farnaby's got a new car That's not from Padington. Yeah, but no, yeah, look, I'm happy for them. And people are talking about thoseh in America, which and a lot and it's bringing a lot of people to the British version. Yeah. So it's all good stuff. Yeah It's not money. Sure. but it's good But it's one of those things's such a it's such I've heard you talk about this, but it's such a big show in the UK and also like a family show. So yeahah everyone So like everyone recognizes you your family will come up to you and yeah, yeah everyone recognize you and likes you and yeah, you know. And yeah, and it's very different because like Staff has been watched by like eleven people so it's a different group of people and it's really nice. sometimes people say really nice things like it's the only thing that my whole family will sit down and watch together. Yeah They sort of brought our family together. So that's nice. Yeah. I mean, I can't take any credit for that because I don't write it. But it's nice to be part of that and hear those things and It's a great cast, but it's a great cast and that's that's the casting of it is is and in a way, isn't that that you that that core cast all knew each other and then they brought in extra people and Yeah And you really wanted that part, right? And you weren't you weren't on the original list for that part. is that right to say. Yeah, I think kind of fourth it. So it's kind of it's more of a compromise Theth the other they had to have Simon Farer be in it. I don't want to h that guy in. But he's in horrible histories. although I'm watching horrible histories with my daughter now. The new one. No the old we started beginning. And there's quite a lot of people in horrible histories to begin with who want in Ed R Like Alice Lowe's in a big part in horrible history. Yeah. It's really good. I'm in a new one. Are you? Yes. I did know that, yeah, yeah A little bit. Yeah. That food was fucking shit. Oh my God. It's the worst. if you take any whatever you take from today? That food was fucking dog shit, man Sorry, worst, the worst. That's the worst. That's the worst We could go through all the shows and rate the cat. I've got pictures of it in my phone. I won't delete those pictures because of how bad it was. Right. That caterom was ass dude. Did they make you eat historical the American one? Did they make you eat historical food with whatever you were b? Oh my gosh, it was so bad Well, we haven't haven't seen your horrible histories yet, but we'll get to it. It makes my son very unhappy. Which horrible histories. Really? It's quite grotesque. Oh yeah, the gout. There's a lot of the gout There's a lot of cut off hands. The first episode is like Pirates cutting off hands and fingers to get realings and all early episodes. and then there's a lot of violence. My son's very sensitive. Right. I don't know where he gets that from. Yeah Well, there wasn't much violence in the bits I did No Unfortunately. what did you get to play I played a guy with a blonde wig I played a guy with a brown wig U A guy with no wig at all, a guy with a hat. Those are the main historical characters I don't know. I got there. Breakfast was shit and I was streaming for the rest of the day. I don't know what's going on Texas is making that fucking bullshit. Look at Look at this b. Yeah, yeah, I hadd a nice time actually. Yeah. good. And subways on delivery in E Street. Yeah. I understand I would talk to Joe Well, I wanted to talk Joe Cornish about omeletts and he wouldn't talk to. talked to Claudia Wincham about But I understand you make a very good omelet. And I'd like to talk about that thinging which. I kind of like I did and then I got bored of it. I was doing it all the I was doing that every day My housemate's girlfriend taught me a way to make omeletts. And then I just started doing it, and I was obsessed with it for about a year. and then I did it too much overkill. Too many omelets Yeah, and bd of it You've got to makeake some omelets to break some eggs rather than got Theres some omelets to get sick of make eggs. And then stop breaking eggs. Yes, you don't need him anymore. due to We will catch on. Yeah The omelets Let me ask you some emergency questions before I for guys I haven't asked any emergenies this week or last week Emergency, there are emergency questions. This isn't an emergency, but if it was because I mean I've got answer it like quickly. you can do. Okay. Last week I talked about a pilot not realizing that the other pilot in the plane had died until they landed the plane. What's the longest it' ten you to realize something wasn't a joke? It's a hard question. That is hard. I can't answer that in an emergency way. Wait what is it? What What's the longest it's take you to realize that something that you thought was a joke wasn't a joke? orr vice versa, I guess we could go for s the long as it's taken you to realize that something that you thought wasn't a joke was a joke. Too hard. Fuck it out. U Too hard. that I thought wasn't a joke was a joke too hard or the other way r. I like this though. This is promising. I'll come back There's the confusion of of you trying to work out what the question means It's enough. is quest sayaining enough All right, I'll ask Miss Klay, if you were going to be putting a human centipede I have ha done this question for a long time Definitely the front. No, you're not get to choose your position. Don't be ridiculous. Everyone's going to use the front. But the mad scientist allows you to choose the other two people who will be in that. You're in the middle But you're allowed to choose who you're going to be attached to Who would you like up front and who would you like at the back? Um but I don't the thing I mean you're very fussy about catering, so I'm going to be interested to see that This one goes down My initial thought was you don't really get to chat to them You won't pinking people as if it's like a dinner party. The person in the front can chance. It is in a way. person the frank can talk, but you'll have to go Well, it would't make a difference. I'd never see their face. I know. It's not a good answer to this. anyways, who do you would you like to shit into the mouth What good delight Well, I guess it would have to be diire based Yeah could be So the front. For the front, yeah A vegan maybe? I don't know. they e good stuff Now when I eat vegetarian food, Well, not you though I' definitely You're off the list, right? I was a vegetian for like fifteen years and still want I eat that food I you know, Yeah. It's not good U I guess someone U Cameron Diaz. Okay, that's good choice. Were I've seen it happen. I think I've seen her talking about Ian I think I've seen them talking about Wanting the man's mouth so too heinous Ive seen it somewhere. so I think she said that, so that would be. I saw that interview U second Is' get the boat from English ghosts just buy his mouth to buy my anus that would be And then who would like cle in them out For the back, I guess like For comfort, someone with fake lips, maybe. Yeah. Who's got fain lives nowadays Some of them Tawy. Yeah. U, Amy Childs. Okaykay That's always a good punishment for getting fake lips If you could go this is another hard. if you could go into a chrysalis like a caterpillar, Yeah. But you get to choose what you come out of the chrysalis says. You go in as coale and you come out as anything you want. Anything Yeah It doesn't have to be an animal. C can be anything. Oh shit, ma'am. What would you come out of the Crysalis says? Um Oh U So many o, commanders. CS with you attached to I don't I mean, I guess it'd have to be human. It doesn't have to be. Well, I think it has to be for me. Okay BeCcauseuse what's the point in being here if you're gonna to be at a table? Sorry, no offense. But like You know, you don't want to come you don't want to For those who believe in reinccarnation, you don't want to come back as table, ma'am. I don't want to come back as a table. You could come back as a creature or you could be, you know, it could be you with a No, it would have to be a human, I guess. U It would be Now which of them now, like present day Yeah, and obviously now yeah They want to find out what you would' have been in a Chryistalas five years ago, insane Shit man, u plan taking this seriously I could put a bit more of the fun house theme over this, butt I mean It's hard to say they you ought to be someone else because You know, everyone has their problems. Anyone want to cater a show because better be confident with yourself a you. That's a job I don't want to do case, Yeah Imagine imagine if I got a show and then the caterer was bad yeah And then that's what I'd be known as.. They're all like, oh, you don't want to do. Oh my gosh. That's my biggest fear. Is that an emergency question? What's my bigg fear? that's the answer. can be I think whats it might just get all actors for now just to go through every show they've been in and tell me what the caterring was like. I think that might be quite good. Yeah, but some people don't care. Some people don't care about the food. They all care a bit Martha Douglas, she cares. Yeah Real deep. Oh, she really cares. Now, now, not e it. bullshit. she's like She's the one that's on the Kerin and she brings in her own food from home most of the time Because nothing beats our food apparently Well she is a very good chef. I think it's because we're in the same year at school. Right Honestly, I believe that our chemistry is down to being an in insanary asult. And to some people that might not mean anything Yeah, but to me it means everything Well look, we're going to we're going to wrap it up We're organising the funun house theme together to end the show.
