Most of this podcast is going to be complaining and calling this team out, but I do want to offer solutions. So the first thing I would do is David Peterson is moved to the bullpen . I think he can be helpful there. I think he can be useful there. I think unlike Shaw Manayan Kodai Senga, who should probably be on the injured list or off this roster, I do think there's a way David Peterson can be helpful. If you want to use him as a bulk guy, if you want to use him as a guy that can eat a couple of innings, and maybe as he gets used to the role, the role that he had out of the bullpen in the postseason in 202 4, David Peterson could be helpful out of the bullpen . But I'm done with him as a starter. I'm sorry. I know you're in a contract year, David. I know you've got all the confidence in yourself, but that was a non-competitive mess. So unlike Senga, who the Mets got on the aisle and are gonna hide, and unlike Manaya, who I think they need to do the same thing with, I'm not a doctor, but if the bone chip issue was never fixed. Maybe that's the reason his velocity's down. Maybe that's the reason Shaw Maniah went from being the tribal chief and the ace of the rotation and a guy who deserved to start opening day last year. Yes, all things I said. And I wanted them to keep him. I own it. But maybe what happened to him is he's not healthy. And we are not wrong for questioning that, wondering that, and criticizing the Mets for their handling of that . So Shom aniah should go the way of Senga, which is go on the IL, get your freaking elbow fixed, and figure it out. David Peterson to the bullpen. And I think it's time for Tobias Myers to get an opportunity in the rotation. We have put this off long enough. He's been a key cog in the bullpen. He's eight innings. He's been ninety-eight percent awesome coming out of the bullpen. It is now time for Myers to go to the rotation. How do you do it? I think you start it by allowing him to be an opener, start games, and start to begin stretching him out. So I get that his second start, because remember he made one earlier as an opener for David Peterson, and if you want to repeat that for Peterson's next turn of the rotation, that's fine, but I would do it while slowly stretching him out. And then eventually it, probably would take maybe two or three opens. Tobias Myers should be stretched out to 75 pitches. Hopefully more. He's a starting pitcher. That's it . He's in the rotation. He's earned it. He deserves it. And when you look at the other options, whether it's Jonathan Tong or Jack Winninger in the minor leagues, I don't know if they're ready. I don't even know if Christian Scott's ready, but he's going to be in the rotation . So there's my answer to the pitching problems. Manaya, go to the IL. There has to be something wrong with you. There has to be. You had bone chips in your elbow last year. Did it magically disappear ? So try to fix that. Am I ready to write him a check and send him away? I mean, maybe if he's not going to get his elbow fixed, and this is who Sean Minai is, we've been talking about diminished velocity for two months. If this is who he is , then yeah, then write him a check to go away as much as that sucks. At least in Sangha's case, they gave him an epidural, they're gonna send him to the minor leagues on rehab starts, and we shall see . So that's what I would do with the rotation.
