Stisy, the greatest Premier League manager ever I'll just leave don't talk. I just thought it was worth asking. it was Thatoy was explain explain. where do you talk why? What's got work? What do you like? Both Folks and had like the highest spend in about three of his twenty summit seasons in the Premier League guysys, welcome to our final episode of Rio Presents this season. Massive shout out to our partners crafted who have been magnificent this season, loveoving having these guys on board with us. They've been producing, by the way. Joel's been banging at again, I've seen Joel all over the gas in it. Steve, a bit more conservative, he like a little bit more plain stuff We've seen his workout gear so we know that anyway. They're a men's jewelry brand It sits in this sweet swort between that super expensive designer pieces and that the cheap poor quality bs to make sure you go and check them match. If you've never heard of them crafted, makeake sure you go and do it Joe She has' Obviously my two partners in crimown we' here. We're ready to rock androll Joe. I've gott to say You know what? you got to bring it in because I think you're It's your time Masses are allowed today. You're allowed today. It's your time. It time Listen I've been waiting I've been waiting years for this moment. I must say I b got the cigars out today Smelling good, good to go. But before we get into Bruno Fernandez smashing the record, etcetera We have to talk about Godard of honors wouldould you have done a guard of honor for an opponent during a game? Because you know, during the city versus Aston Villa game They did one for Bernardo Silvar with half an hour to go and then the same for Jhon Stones in the seventy eighth minute. Now Rooney You weren't happy about that. He said it makes me sad that things like this are happening in football. They deserve it, but do it after the game. If I was one of those Aston Villa players, I'd be Human Honestly mental stuff. What are you guys saying so it's a log of products. I think it should just like Wait till the end of the game. and celebrate your team. The opposition like that I don't understand what I got why gotard. How did David ad Let agree to it, Villa But I would never agree to that. I was to put let his own fans in his own team Gi him the Gard of honor. End of the game Celebrate them too guys They deserve it. They've been magnificent Right? Wh they've been at that football club Jon Stone's been top draw Berado silver has been like a ridiculous sign and someone who's achieved ridiculous things there and done some great things mid game doing it. I've never heard of anything so stupid in my life. I've got a village. I ever thought of that Needs their head wobbling. Most salad yesterday Like Yadd's moment his kids are on the pitch L that's to norm what you see Class for a Liverpool player that I should hate cllass it. and I think he he's been an absolute Fantastic servant for that football C for me is the best player that's played for Liverool in the Premier League. and it's not even close But the way you done it yesterday was the way that you you used to st in it and I think the way that it should be done. He has his moment on that pitch on his own. with those fans like the opposition players. Wh whyy the hell Aston Villadire celebrating his career J mean mid game. What benefit does that have to us in Villa But it just doesn't make sense. It's just so I don't understand. I guarantee you the players wouldn't have been a part of that Like that the superers that came off the pitch. I don't blame them I just think is there'll be people in there just being busy and trying to create something that just doesn't need to be created Do you think they did it because they didn't really care because they'd like had a very successful weeak villa and they were just like, yeah, yeah, yeah, sure, whatever, that's fine Yeah probably probably still have pissed most of them, you what I mean? So after after winning in Europe and rightly so No, I don't don't don't agree that one.' not's not that's not one for me. Listen, it's not the worst thing in the world, but it's just one of those things I just think, that's just a bit over the top. Yeah focus on the game. Okay guys, I want us to talk about The man, the myth, the legend Runo Fernandez smashing the record. twenty one assists Rio, you've been doing your research on this, isn't it? Because you haven't liked all the negativity he's been receiving. I've been doing a bit of research, right He actually Bruno Fernandez. He outranks Kevin DeBreiner every metric other than gold scored and cross is compleed completed. and attempted a number of passes in the attack half But everything else He just absolutely obliterates him. It's unbelievable. you when you see like assists This season like fl The amount of passes they even attempt R I'm looking at it here pass inaccuracy Jimmy he's crossing accurately through bles. open play cross is completed Like Bruno is like forward passes Everything is just like just obliterates him. numumbers on the pitch. it's crazy. Listen I'm not saying he's a better player than Kevin De Voya but what I'm saying This season He has put himself in the conversation when you're talking about creative players to play in this league He's doing some crazy stuff man. and he's a wonderful player Of course, you know, I would have loved to see one of my Astle boys do it, but I'm not mad at him winning because I feel like it's now bringing back the individualism in football because I think for so long All we are doing is, you know, look at the metrics for Ballondor for goodness sake You have to, you know, win the worldorld Cuple. you have to And even if you win the trouble, you might you got to win the worldorld Cuple when in ninety nine seasons, Steve, correct me if I'm wrong Rivaldo One Ballondor, correct. bedroom. notat a group didnn't get out of the Champions League group. wasasn't a World Cup ye David Beckham wins a treble Come second You know, but they looked at it like who did they think was the best play? I mean, I don't even think he was the best player that season, but they were looking at individualism. I think Bruno deserves it. You can't you can't be the centerpiece to a a swing as huge as they've had from last season to this season R? and be like The absolute like machine behind it all He has been the centerpiece of all of it And I left this season in a double pivot and I' not even play in front Yeah, exactly. And it. if he and no disrespect, if he had lack A bloody Harand Oh and Henriri or someone that out front. It was that Youve got young Ciskco who's coming in and finding these feet, right? If he has someone in there who is getting forty goals a season. thirty goals a season God knows, he created eight chances to second u to last game of the season, you know createdated eight chances in one game And he had one goal out of it Another team He could have four assist in the game there God knows what you'd have I know the feeling man because I remember when Erzil was like, you know, close to breaking it and Jiru didn't bang any goals and like with eleven games to go. absolutely killed him. But I want to ask Stee At the end of last season, the fan base, they were split between cashing in on Bruno. and keeping him. Oh I was. You would thought if we could have got a hundred million for him Especially because you had this sort of like role in Ruben Aarim's team where you like We don't get the best out of him and we don't get the best out of the team by forcing him into a position that doesn't really suit him So you're thinking, well, if Ruben Amberam's going to be here and Bruno's going to be this sort of like not quite fully effective player in this position and someone wants to offer us thirty mill one hundred million for a thirty year old I can make the case why that's a good decision if it's invested Now I'm glad he didn't, obviously. I mean, like I said, even spoke to him in the summer. whyy are you still here man with what's been on the table? And he said to me, I've got so much football left to play. Oh my god jo' as he played it I didn't think he was like not only have I got so much football left to play, but I'm going to have the best season of my entire career. And I'm going to take you lot from fifteenth to third If we if we listen man, the second season now you go Cisco, you're gonna have a better version of Cisco you'd like to think You'll have a better version of Amad U Ubumo Kunya, right? And they might add someone else to that. If those guys start hitting a bit of a bit of form and purple patches, right These numbers could do a madness together next season If he continues in this film And who's to say he' not going to continue, listen After the World Cup, we have to wait and see where he is. I think that's going to be a big telling factor on on someone like Bruno because he's going to play there long can to have a long like eighteen months Those guys those guys are moving in the right way and they finishing chances that he's setting up man I mean, that is not I'd want to be in their shoes. That's the one thing I would be. if I'm the strikers in that team, I'm looking back and going Bruno man, justust get knocked out in the group stages with Portugal. get ready for next season because I'm going to be flying all over this pitch expecting the ball to be on the under my left or right foot to bang goals Ryo U And when was' goal definitely showed the connection between the players. It was sick to see, the quick one tos, etcet. That looks so different under Michael Carrick compared to previous matches. Can you now see the way he's playing or the way he's played being translated to how he's managing. Yeah, I just feel that Michael knows the way that Manchester United fans want to see their team play. And I think In the end, you'll get there I think but it just needs time. againain I keep saying and repeating this. this team were conditioned to play in a certain particular formation that none of them were really comfortable in And none of them probably played in any of their careers until they got there. And then he's had to reverse that and that mindset and that mentality to get him back into playing this way that a lot of them feel more comfortable looking and you're starting to see the fruits of that. And I think next season I'm really looking forward to seeing the start next season harder team play because I think Micha will get a team with a training pitch Obviously the ones that will be there. World Cup post World Cup. But when he gets a team in and starts working with them, I'd just like to see with some new additions this May United team look like under one coat. I think we've seen some nice glimpses this season And I think the consistency of those good glimpses is what I'm looking forward to seeing What are you both looking forward to seeing though? I know you I know what you're saying, Rio, but player wise Positions, Steve Rio Wh do you need to improve? Because the Chapers League Take it from me You know, it's not easy, you know? D't take it from me. We don't have a backup goalkeeper Right There's a good chance that Bynde iss on his toes, Oana' on his toes. Tommy has just signed an extension. I wonder if Casamio's interview had anything to do it at, by the way, after the way he gased him up Yeah he's got an extension.. So we need a number two goalkeeper. I think Tom's pretty much cemented as like the number three slash As assistant goalkeeper coach or whatever it is that he's sort of doing in there So you' got to bring someone else in. Maybe Vitek who's been out on loan and absolutely smashed it. Maybe that's the option for that number two, give him some time in the cups, maybe I think we need a left back I think Luke Shaw starting every single game this year is remarkable I think there's a way you can level up in that position. I can make a case for a write back depending on what happens with D Lo and Maz Row.' some Mazroow might be going to eventous. Clearly we need one midfielder, minimum. I think you've got it goes as well, which means you need to And even then I can still make a case for a third unless you're going to promote maybe Jimm Thwait or one of the Fletchers We absolutely need a striker because Zerxi ain't that guy. We need somebody and I don't think I don't think Cido's quite ready to be that reliable backup yet. I see Vlahovic is available on a free, I would absolutely run to go and bring him in and just see what we could do with that. I think there's a case to be made for a left winger. I can make a case here for a dozen players easily And we need that I think do what if listen, pay attention because I'm not going to do this often, but I'll give arsenal some credit what you did in the close season Was you brought in depth? And that's what's got you the distance this season. And that's where United really needs to think The starting eleven needs a central midfielder Outside of that need de. They're talking about Edison who I mentioned about two or three years ago from Atlanta Should have got him then. Good bl. Good footballer Um I was worryingly I saw a picture of Anderson coming out of the same restaurant as the sporting director of Man City the other day So looks like he might be going to manan City which unfortunate because I think he'd have been perfect for us But if we I think we're going to have to buy two or three Midfielders I think to cover that area And it's got to be legs in there The ones that they're buying. They got a big mobile and can move Um, Lever Dosky ain't a bad shob set forth if we brought him in The experience he has that they might have learearning that Cesco, if you're believing Cesco is going to be a guy for the next five or so or plus years The learning he could do with eleven D skam who is a wonderful, humble human being who would I think, teach and show and kind of try and coordinate Cesco and get him in the right way I think it'd be a really I think it'd be a sensible sign in as well. I mean, you obviously the numbers would be crazy to wages wise, but I think if you're if you're trying to benefit this squad. I think he could be a great presence Um So ye I't know, it's going to be a good summer I think, interesting some to see who we go for. agreed. Okay, cool. So before we get on to Arsenles's title winning team Let's go through our podcast End of season Awards You caggies to discuss. so Make sure you throw in your thoughts, everybody watching in the comments. I'm talking on socials. Ewhere you see it, you need to get involved. So Your player this season. Stean Rio, Bruno Yeah That's that's fair to say, right? Bruno done I'm gonna throw in a quick spanner, you know, I I have to say a Declan Rice or David Rer for me Listen I think Rya a had a rice I'm going to be honest with you, I don't Rice even had a good a season as Casamiro Have you seen what every Premier League team's set of fans voted for? and who they man are Arsenal funds voted for Declan Rice Yeah Rntford and City fans voted for Semeno The rest of the bleeding League voted for Bruno Fernandez Wow Tell him, wow. Tell him. So like I said before. No one else has really stood out. Bruno's the only standout candidate ask all that three or four really good players this season. defefin that these moments and done really well. Ray has been at these moments Gabriel stood out and done well as well. and Everyone else is as much of as much as I' got to say. I mean, yeah, you know what? I need to stop it. Yeah, just give it to Bruno. I'm with you guys. What about the manager of the season? Yout go out tell I an account. Say it, Steve. Steeeve, say it It probablyably is Aatter. You win it, it's artatter. But I can't anoint a man who's made me hate football more this year because of the tactics that he's employed. You have to getatter The emotional pull matters, right I think Michael Kurick absolutely deserves a shout. seventeen. L, hear me out Since he's been there, there's no one been better, right? That's a farack call I that is. And I think another person who deserves a little bit of credit is Herzala Yeah Or maybe it's just some of that Bright and do because everybody that I think me me you and Rio could go to Brighton and probably end up getting that down manager in the season because every single manager that they have, no matter who have they had a bad manager ever Yeah. Every single manager goes in and does well. So that just tells you that that club is so well run, it's a joke and are great Pedigam world done That's my the finger bra name I would Versla Carrick and Lego Ed. I think the Brford manager deserves some credit Yeah. I think he's done like I think he's done a really good job. I think he's I think going and after after Thomas Frank as well, I think' no easy easy fit. I mean someone he could have had a ten year contract there Thomas Frank given what he'd done. Yeah He was dismissed as well. I wanted it because he was just known as the set peace coach. So I bigick up Keith Andrews. No because I said it at the start of the season because I was just like, just takes corners like but he's being brilliant. He's had a confidence and an assurredance as well. I like when he's team interviewed and stuff, he' really like he's comfortable in the role And I think when you follow a big manager, at whatever level iss difficult. And I think he you' got the player. you got to get the players to buy in again, if he's that peace manager and it goes into manager players. some players look at and going above the other day You telling me where to be the corners makeakes sharp Well if you don't get a couple of results They're looking at you funny. So he's got to navigate a few sting sticky situations and I think he's done a really good job does Biggest overachchievers would you say? Yeah Borer from Brentford.'d go I'd go for Keith Andrews, given that again, the manager position and the person he have to take over from I'll say Brentford of Sunderland, I think Sland Snderland's a hell of a shout man in Southern Europe. Who would have fought man? Like ridiculous. Biggest underachievers, Sousers Liver you spent five hundred million, right? Check this out real. There's been a fifty three point swing between United and Liverpool, right afterfter they spent five hundred million It's them and it's not even cloged.. I mean, obviously with Salah not having a good season Robberinson leaving as well What does Slot need to do because it's not it's not No you know what I saw a quote from Virgia Van Dyck about Diego Giota. I think that had a bigger impact than anyone couldould have imagined I think that They hadn't had time to really kind of process that and I think there is sympathy for that and I think you have to consider that and because that drop off is huge that Ste just mentioned. So That has to be considered and you have to think, you know what? with the summer now to go away and just kind of recharge after the World Cup for a lot of these players You might get a different liort to come back U the only caveat to that is the way that Sala spoke about tactics and going like this isn't working and How about we go back to the we need to go back to the clopway and the heavy metal football, etceta. So. I don't know what're going to get next year It' going to be quite I S's not going to be there. Robertsson is going to be there What type of football is this man you' going to play with those players given what Salak said in that really explosive interview. So I mean, I've seen Sally get Hammered for stuff some of the stuff that he said I get it, but at the same time I understand him and his frustration. When you set a level it he's set. There's only a few players in the game that can even sit and talk at a table with him And so you're not going to understand the mindset of a pl likeim and the way that they see things. They're just different. They're different animals. So do it that consistent for eight or nine years the way he has They've made a different stuff. so they see things differently. so You've got to consider that sometimes with the way they react to certain situations, but Um I think those words that he said were lack They were a knife to to the chest the way that he was speaking there like and he was unveing some really kind of private and delicate situations at a football club that we're going to have to see get let play out We're going to let them play out and see how they come out and it unfold because it's going to be interesting. You don't go from winning the league like that to where they fell to in the manner that they did Nice it's really bad. I mean Yeah, if when you saw him getting his round of applause, I just saw a slot clapping and I thought he does not want to be clapping right about now. alsoso think quickly Chelsea have had a a very underwhelming season finishing temp. It's not as bad as Liverpool's but yeah, man it's not been great for them either. signigning at the season, Rio All right Chuck has been a great signer I think at Sundland Yeah. I think he's stabilized that club. He' given a bit of directional experience. I think he's been like brilliant Dfinitely He'd been the sh up I think Curkey's been a great signing for sea he's lit the place up. he's brought some excitement that individualism you're talking about earlier, Joel I think he's like he does stuff that you go off I wn't m p to watch that U Yeah, those guys would be the ones that would stand out I mean, you've got Cuna asasti, right? would you say? C you U I think from United's point of view, I think Lemonss has been the best Yeah L Yeah forgot about that. Yeah, he's forgotten about sometimes He's just come in he's been so chill, so calm and so unrufflable L I think people forget and goalkeeper such that position on like Are you even thinking about Wh we're going to improve that for the next ten years because I'm not. I'm thinking that just nailed You just what you wereed about number two earlier That's it I have to say Turkey or Semeno for me because I think Semeno's goals are underrated man not only for Borneemouth, but for City as well. If he weren't in that team, they would they would have got done well than. Yeah, he's done too much for them. Goal of the season guys You see Wilson's one right And honestly, it's a great goal. I loveving a play like. reminds me of Yorkan go. I love movement. I love people that pass it and then get on their toes. I love that. That's football for me. None of the sh you do at corners U I think Harrison reads. is worth they a Yeah, yeah. Do you know what one hit? Yeah, that was a banger. Outside of that like, there's not really been loads of mega united ones that have stuck in my head really this season No Do you know what I like I'm going for Oh was it someone bundling a goalkeeper over the line for one of yours? was it? No, no. it's not. It's a Curkey Rbona tofodan header Yeah, that was nice I'm go for that man. No no Reach was nice but that That madej you start the was that groups were popping when're not go win in I got itsight now off a goal this season And Ro, it's not just that, it's the fact that they tried to interview Pepperb at the end and he was fidue' true. He was fumed start talking about messy and all sorts. Oh my gosh. ye. let us know in the comments guys. You know, we want to hear your thoughts as well. We got one more, which is favorite moment of the season. I mean, for me, it's very easy isn't it? I'm going to sit this one out Leaving it to you guys. Yeah, a fair one for you lot, notot for me. Yeah. I don't know if there's been a single standout moment. I think the utter managerial carnage has just been I mean, we get a lot of that every single season, but this season felt like it was particularly spicy in terms of just the sheer nuttiness of the managerial Merigo round, not just Chelsea, not just Spurs If fact you know what? Yeahah. Liam Resignia's campaign has been my favourite part of this entire season because what an And you couldn't have roote that? Right, man, we got low st still toama out on this pod but we'll be back shortly after this What if a marginal gain unlocked greater performance What if an insight in data could change everything. Drink differently and get some RK for the match at arKbeverages. com favorite moment, I think is seeing Asenal win it behave Oh seriously. Yeah sorry after so much So much kind of like hate watching and so much Ridic you and the fact that Liverpool Man city haven't got a strangle hold on that title with glast or wouldn int it? I think go in Ro, it could be a mad one, you know I Oh ye know what The favorite moment of the season is yet to come. Because I think that one of the reasons PP's gone is because something is a back drop. That will be my favorite moment for this season. Oh that is too funny. But yeah guys, it's about how we spoke about Ast Premier League Champions. Rio. I'm just going for a tunnel one second. Yeah Rio, how much credit does the main man Mkela deserve for this moment? Come on. No, think I think Mieleta deserves these flowers. I think again for persistence, for resilience Um Patience even Um and just sheer determination to get over that hurdle He's playing against a record break ins sides He's had two managers that will go down as some and two of the best managers that we've seen one of them, the best maybe arguably in Pp and Jg and Klop So this hasn't been an easy year for him to get his hands on this trophy. I think one of you did The one thing that he had he side this season was in Man city were in a transition year which helped him and Liverpool had the biggest dro offff after winning a league and spending five hundred million, you could ever imagine. So not to take anything away from for Arsenal But I think the manager also the hierarchy, the people that run the club, the patience that they've had and the the vision and long term thinking that they've showed in a time like Steve said where there's been a man managerial migo round for the last year or so. or every year They stuck to their guns and even with a lot of arsenal fans and I hope they'll be honest, Uber san If he doesn't win it this year Weve got to get rid, we've got to change. I don't even like howa He's this he's that. He's want you to lead now guys. shut the head up. and enjoy it Right? And I actually believe Arsenal now are in a position where they could dominate for the next two or three years quite easily because all the other people are in rebuild mode And squads squads young enough as well, Rio. Pardon. Squ squads young enough as well. Yeah, the recruitment at Arsenal has been great. likeike you said, they they recruited really well and what they brought into the club was depth U you see some players come out and fall out the team and you think o Oh my go, what's going on? Lewis Skelly didn't play all season, but finished help finish things off and played a pivotal role in there L done this by the way, on a season when Sacker was out injured for a part of season and you've got and before that, we would have said there's no way you get through stackers out, you're done Like and your recruitment, I think has doing thereesss credit in that And I think Gker isn't coming for a bit of stig but rememember when he' signed and I was saying What he will do for you is I think you'll bully the teams that you should be where I think of' been banana skins for you guys And I think he played a pivotal role especially against those type of teams where he scoree most of his goals So the right Yeah. and I think I think again, that's to the recruitment team of Micholaartette and these guys Just seeing those little problems or little tweaks that you needed to be made and identifying them and then executing around them and I think they deservedly win the league. Nine agree Steve, Steve. Yeah, listen, I think I'd also like to throw in PGMOL because without them I don't think you have you' have got over the line. I think it those have been highionfced. I mean, I got to go back to that foul against Tottenham Joe go back to West Am joke. you know, that's that's the sort of thing that keeps Westam down, man. West West Aam gone down because of PGML wanting you lot to win the league. So takeake your trophy Next season when the rules are properly enforced, you' be looking to finished sixth Stop all that because for many years we've had to deal with one hundred and fifteen charges. We've dealt with Chelsea with their mad transfers here that they're still being investigated for selling trading grounds, doing a whole bunch of stuff that we don't even understand, but we know it's illegal. Even the likes of Eton che in, we've always been squeaky clean. All of a sudden we have a few chances that go our side And now what people want to blame us. Jo No know, I think I think that you guys being pipped the last couple of years to win the league in time Your players and your manager will go, They were some of the most important moments for this club att this period like. built resilience, it built character. Um I think I saw Odegd's quotes talking about Aers have some tough conversations between them I think it would have brought the squad together U And that winning this title now, I think will taste even sweeter given those experiences percent. And if I was any of those players or if I was if I was a manager I would have those a picture kind of really like hones in and tells you and gives you the emotion and brings the emotion back of that moment when you lost a leave That's the picture I don' up in my house. You know what I actually did, you know when I lived in Lanchester B My the only football picture that I had up in my house was when I played for leads and with lost in the Champions League semifinal against Valencia free Nil. and it was me hunched over with my number and name on the back and in the background was Fil, Valencia And that's the only picture I had up in my house you know that from football, but it was one of them really R I look back now and I just liked seeing it because it reminded me of the worst feeling that I had and I don't want to go there. So the days where I felt a little bit like training m or Dud there There's load ofames at the moment, man, Jesus I'm knaced bl. Just look at that that picture will just like throw me back straight on track It want to be there again What's really interesting about the psychology of that is when I hear about people that really, really achieved stuff David Beckham had one photo up in his office, supposedly, and it was all of the West A fans giving him shit to the game straight after the World Cup in nineteen ninety eight his first game back And then you've got Brendon Rogers with portraits of himself in his house and The summer su the summit And you tell me, it was you did it. So why did you do it? And why did David Beckham? Why is it whyy is it that winners go to them moments and think burn their moments in Frendwards home, Brendinwards is a winner, by the way Yeah he's not more an absolute witch, but that's just not No, dont I don't know I don't know and and I never knew that about Be no one told me to put put it up. It was weird. It was it was a it was in the paper. it might have been in there you're supposed to forget what it's called The lightologist I don't know I remember saying to someone that I need to get that framed that Be it was actually a good picture, but it was more a meaning than a picture that We were that close. I was hunched over and every time I saw it it brought me straight back to what that feeling was like And I think that those players The arsenal they'll have a picture that they could draw upon to bring about those emotions that makes them stay away from them them feelings They look at the win everything. But it'll keep them on their toes to make sure they're in contentions with everything I'm telling you You ever worked with Bill Baset United No, I worked with him in England when Steve Matown was there. so I know he was into all that psychology and stuff like that He's got that phrase an'ntt it like You have to train like number two to be number one. Yeah, yeah. ree month justust to finish on whileoy S about Arsen as well Can you imagine how sweet it must feel and taste for these guys? yeah? All in the arrsenle c and the fans when critics of all they've said about Arsenal. No matter Asenal do I say? everyveryone just go you bottl us You bottl us. You bought it there, you bought it here, you boughted it there You ain't wed it for twenty five years Sop And Arsenal fans couldn't really come back was always a bit of a shutdown moment. But now has absolutely changed now given that you guys have won the leeague what a feeling that must be for I just think of it as a plan when you walk in anywhere They must have been having little shouts from In a shot A they B would j looking at him Mulkan is he thin he is like That ain't happening that. He's man walking anywhere. shouldoulders back chested out. Head what now What now Yeah and say talk to me now. talkal to you better talk to me nicely S me real real I was at the PFA Awards. in August right There was a moment when the Arsenle players were on stage with the Liverpool players and someone read out something about the arrsenal players And I can't remember which Liverpool player but they laughed They love like They laughed. hand on heart, they laughed and you saw one of the arrstenle players. they had your reaction. they went What L that like and it was it was almost embarrassing if I'm honest with you. I can't remember which Lipool player it was, but I was do you just the scatest name. No, no, no, no, no, H on heart Ro. I really don't remember I don't want to say the wrong name. I don't know if it was Kanat. I can't remember. I don't want to get it wrong But but I just remember the Ale players's reaction like Declan Rice and Gabrielle was pissed Like and it was it was like, wow And you heard yesterday in the post match interviews, man, like people at theakayo Saka saying, yeah, you know, they're calling us spotlers and you know, now it's our time. now it's our time. they can't say nothing now. They said that they can't of Oderard. Martin Odegard said that you can't ignore what you see on social media. You can't ignore it. We're in that We're in that type of time So yeah, credit to him and I'm really proud of him. Yeah, well done, well done to him. West Tam got relegated with the highest points total in fifteen years Is that unlucky or did they deserve to go down No I think I think you end up going down because you but we one of the three teams are weren't good enough. I think the end of the season as much as we always say, oh The league table doesn'te when you're at the top of the league it' will be the same at the bottom to going to you. I do think that that decision in the game that Stve was talking to before. is a big decision, but I think you've got to look it in totality and go, you know what if we're there We ain't been good enough. We've got to be honest with ourselves. M Westown will bounce back They will, but Disappointing to see M Really disappointed. I mean, could mean that Fernandez is available slightly cheaper for clubs that United as well. He's a top class talent him It was in a restaurant in Wilmsslow last week How reready Hmm Okay Okay, okay It'd be a good sign in, but I think there'd been a few clubs wishing that West sign got sent down just to get him for a bitchy club If J, Mate, if I could go and I think Jo Gomez is going athletic go about a sounds of things, but if you went and got Jo Gomez and Matees Fernandez two relegated midfielders I'd be jumping a jiant at me be absolutely Maga Yeah. Ifs honestly, if youre notited don't get Anderson, who you want to be the main center I said midill signing Anderson's my number one. The Premier League factor there's almost like a possible I might be getting giddy, but it's like almost like a possible Ry keen parallel that I'm seeing with him from Forest and that all action midfielder and I feel like he's got like an extra gear in him that we ain't even seen yet. like I would love to see him in the Champions League I think wor I think you'd see some more out of him with that sort of responsibility Um I really like the idea of Tan it. I I'm hoping it just goes completely tits up all summer at Real Madrid with the carnage that's been going on there and they're like, yeah, you can go I'd be open arms to bring him to United because I think He would just absolutely sit there, put fires out and go Coby Menu. You go do pretty stuff and make things happen further up the pitch, I'll deal with us. and I think that pedigree he's got no Pmier League experience don't think it matter. I think he's got the athletism to be able to handle the Premier Leag I think he'd be fantastic. But outside of that Yeah, I go Matees Fernandez Jo Gomez I'd still even, I wouldn't mind having a gander at water in me. No one's going to do what Casamio did So you got to almost like you got to almost go from Roy Ky to Michael Carrick, I think I'm going to finish up with Pet Guardiola. I mean, obviously he announced that he was leaving during the week and you said you're going to miss him Rio. You said you're going to miss him, not because of what he's won, but obviously what he brings to the league. How big are his shoes to feel for Manchester City Well, Joel, you asked me how bigger he shoot to foran City lacks. so at Barcelona He reinstated a brand of football that we had only seen since we haven't seen since Jn Cf and he made them and out of footballing like the footballing mecup to be at in terms of like the way that football's played. one of the best teams, if not the best club team we've ever seen goes to B Munich Changes the way that Germany see football, not by Munich, Germany. and wins but doesn't win a Champions League, but wins everything else sets new records here and there then goes to Man City and takes him to a new planet write a new universe to where I've ever been R for the last ten years and broke all sorts of records in the Premier League and won the Champions League England at Sunday League or from from the top to the bottom of the pyramid. see football and play football differently because of Pet Guardola They had the type of shoes and the size of shoes'ving to fill Crazy Mental. Sunday League teams pass it out from the back. B believees with no no with've like dog poo on there and they're trying to go right let's all spread. And right we're going to get the plater along the backline goalkeeper get out on those in the boxs Like you're now they're going to create a little overload in there. like what the hell like? Th brought new terminologies to the game that people never even thought about like It's crazy really, but They're the type of shoes youve got a film man and Listen, I'd like that wonics fgcusing left sible. It's almost an impossible job to do. So I think they the infrastructure at the football club at Man City. will determine it will have a big, big factor in how the new manager goes in there And what are your sheieves Stay, the greatest Premier League manager ever I'll just leaveater, don't tell. just it was worth asking That was I just thought it was explain explain. what do you talk about? What's work? What don' you like? Both Folkson had like the highest spend in about three of his twenty summit seasons in the Premier League, right He built Three arguably four Teams People will point some his record in Europe, but you've gott to remember, this is not a level playing field. didn't have oil nation backing him. He didn't spend ungodly amounts of money that required the international rules of football to be changed. He was competing with the foreigner rule. He was competing with England that had been banned from competing in Europe for five years prior to him then trying to like compete with everything else that have been going on in Europe The Premier League was not biggest leag in the world at the time, it was Italy. So we had to go and compete with Italy. So You're comparing apples and oranges, you're not comparing the same sorts of things. I'll tell you this though the last person that won The Sottish Premier Leag Wir Alex Ferguson But that did so without Rangerers Athetic s record that stood for over forty years. Its of Aberdeen. The last time Real Madrid lost in a final was to Aberdeen. like in a European final Whats Alex Ferguson did? not just with winning the European cup with Seven homegrown bloods not just with constantly re like look at the people that he competed with in the league. Look at the people that look at the league in the mid like he was a dinosaur supposedly when when Rapha Beritz and Jose Marinio and Alison Venger were all in the mixer You be at M Like and he did so where he wasn'tent like sity and ch didn't he didn't be he didn't beat didn'tat Joe's Ajor in these time Y did to the leak Yeah he did won I mean, Jose they won twice when he first come in and then saw Alex on revamp and then slaps him And then Joe's had to go hide. Joose a got sack mate? I think that' that's Wand Nill Furg That was when was when two thousand seven eight season. That's why when Uncle Avey ended up as Chelsea mananager. It mad no got That was more behind the scenes issues with a Bramovic man. It wasn't a clear, you know, But it is like mad when you're talking about all those managers like I think you've got like Cop who I think was like a He bought that heavy metal. U football to to Liverpool and kind of like was a new way of looking at Liverpool, become an absolute like cauldron of a place and s in Europe as well as in the Premier Leag Um Weener was like the professor who came over and just revolutionized all sorts of off field stuff in terms of food, preparation, recovery like just super, super professional Jose was like a mentality monster really. like someomebody who come in and just made people feel a million dollars and feel like they were M amongst boys Um, but with like a bit of a conservative approach to football in many ways And then you and then obviously Sax Fergus and not think, e longevity is one of the things in terms of revamping the squadright three or four times would be dominant the Pmier League and being European champion twice But also I think the way that he's be mined human beings and that consistency and that desire and determination to win just seeed out of him. and was like ridiculous to see And I think what Sir Alex and Pip Ridelder where I think you go really comparable They were that good. The while doing that job of winning and being consistent and sustaining a high level over all these years They were churning out people to become managers. You look at the managers that have become managers and done well under Furgie And then youve got this you look at you look at what PP's doing now and the ones that E well might surpass the ones that come undereradics you've got like Chavi Alonzo. You've got Mareskca, you've got our Tetanawa Champion, you've got Vinccent Company. there is enrique PSG was with him there E Ericon Hog was under the river by him There's so many managers that have been out and just become managers and been doing it at the top level So again, just not just great managers, but great teachers those too. That separates them too from all the others en't it Just wanted to add Jose got sacked from Chelsea september twentieth, two thousand seven after a poor start So yeah weren't really much there was there? Anyway. Yeah U Yeah that was after he left it was He wanton to leader Yeah Was it Unite? Yeah Okay cool Okay, didn't really challenge him though did he? Anyway, we're finishing off with the plans for our summer guys. What is going on? The last thing I saw was Rio doing Airbnb adverts and showing off this amazing crib that we're going to be standing out in the World Cup. I phoned Steee and I said, Steee Is this really our gf Is this really what's going on? You're down the road in a motel, mate? We're not I mean you gloating about arsenal winning. you get got twenty four hours and I're going to drive in the pool. Yeah if you m an arsenal five times when we're in in a villa together, you're getting in jject in that pool while over the bush. But guys, you do know I can't swim, right? Yeah that's where you're gonna go. You better watch your pose in cues on't Talk to us Ro. What's g on? Well, listen, man, we' got loads g on. We' got loads we obviously we've got an Airnb house. There's been a lot of boozy nights out and like lads on holiday truck type vibes We're going to do a bit of that. donon't get me wrong Steve has been on a fitness regime and a fitness run that's like onn another level. crazy amount of mage, running walking, cycling, etcetera And we're going to take that we're going we're going to drop that down a notch in that sense Bggana gym G got a nice gym there And you're going join, Joe, I don't want to hear out? I'm mjed. We actually got a gym in the Gf now becauseuse the first time I saw it only had like. Yeah, no, no.'ve got we've got a bench and dumbos. Yes it's enough. it's what we need So Yeah, loads of that and' going to be listen, lo what' We're going to be getting us all sorts over there. The activities we're going to be doing flying about LA. Comeon man, six weeks in LA crazy So up? We're going to have to train whilst we're out there. Every day five AM mate. O season Off season is when you is when you win medals mate Obviously that's what we used to We condition like that I listen Joel We train hard And we go hard. Yeah. Es the rules, right? Yes.
