I just want to lay out some of the goals I have for sleep and me. which really haven't changed much in the history of the podcast. My biggest goal is not to put you to sleep but to bring you some comfort relief Peace of mind, some good company in the deep dark night, a friendly distraction, maybe bring you some sleepy joy and delight So you could fall asleep but if you can't sleep or it's really difficult or whatever it is that you're dealing with that you know somebody's there for you. someomebody's there with you that you could just listen to and you don't really have to pay attention to. because that's what I always wanted my whole life, particularly when I was younger and I couldn't sleep at all was just some kind of comforting presence, to help me fall asleep or to get through the night. So those are the main goals of the show. I'm not sure if you share any of those goals. If you already do, you're saying yes, Sots You've done all that for me. Spread the word about the podcast or sign up at sleepingmepodcast. com slash plus So we can keep doing that. And I guess the secondary goals of the show are to make sure the podcast is free for anyone that needs it who couldn't pay or for anybody to discover it maybe just like you did, not knowing it's out there, not knowing what it's like until they try it out a few times and they say, holy cow, had no idea this would work for me. but I'm so glad I found it or for people that just need the podcast every once in a while When they're going through a really, really tough time. Those are the secondary goals. And I guess the third level goals is I'd like to keep making this show long into the future. I'd like to podcast to keep coming out on a regular basis. So if any of those goals, the primary goals of the show, the secondary goals of the show or the third level goals of the show resonate for you. If any of those goals impact you, could you Please consider supporting the show in one of those two ways. It's so powerful and you could be a part of those goals coming true. You could say to yourself every single night, I let five people know about the podcast. I let one person know about the podcast or and this is the truth, my sixty dollars a year changed the entire history of sleep with me. My two hundred forty dollars a year, my seven bucks a month. It's what makes the difference between the show being here for free for people to discover it, to bring people that sleepy joy and delight. And I'm so proud of that Either one will change the future of the podcast will make all those goals come true. Just like our first episode was you about you make my dreams come true. This next episode coming out. this episode is is u Cunity effort really And if you want to be a part of that community effort, please consider supporting the show I spread the word respond it directly. I'm gonna surprise some people who are spreading the word about the show, just letting people genuinely know about their experience with the podcast with subscriptions to Sleep withith Me pllus, maybe a personal video Maybe some stickers, who knows? So get out there and be surprised by scoots Thanks everybody. What do you say? We get on with the show He are you up all night tossing turning, mind racing trouble getting to sleep trouble staying asleep Well welcome This is Sleep withith me, the podcast that puts you to sleep We do a bedtime story. All I need to do is get in bed, turn out the lights and press, playay. I'm gonna do the rest. what I'm going to attempt to do is create a safe place where you could set aside whatever iss keeping you wake. It could be thoughts you're thinking about thoughts about the past, the present, the future, things that are thoughts that are just on your mind It could be feelings, anything coming up for you emotionally related to assults or feelings that are just there It can be changes physical sensations, changes in time, temperature routine You could be going through something, you could be getting over something, you could be in the middle of something, whatever it is. I'm here to keep you company and take your mind off stuff so you could fall asleep which u is a little bit different, but I'm really just here to help out So you could get the rest you need U because I've been there The reason I love making the show and helping people out who can't sleep is because I know what it's like tossing turning, mind racing, trouble getting to sleep, trouble staying asleep, with trouble waking up early thoughtoughts, feelings, physical sensations. changes in time tem you know, a lot of stuff gets in the way and the only reason I listed that stuff is so that maybe you get a sense you're not alone, that there's other people out there like me Is that get it in that feel for you. And that maybe I want to try to offer some relief if I can But yeah, it's like I might not know exactly what brought you here or what exactly you struggle with with sleep or maybe it's not a struggle. Maybe it's something else but I want to help. If any of the underlying feelings are similar or even if they're just unpleasant, I'd like to help you out if I can. And the other good thing is that there's enough people listening that there's someone listening right now around like somewhere in the world, there's someone listening right now who really does get whatever it is you're dealing with right now or whatever is that brought you here And they're really hoping the podcast can help you like it helps them on a regular basis and they're rooting for you. even if it's not this podcast, even as this podcast introduces you to another sleep podcast that helps you out or some other audio or some other thing the people listening right now they really know where you're at. They're just hopeful for you. They don't even know you but they're hopeful for you And I think that's a pretty cool thing to be a part of. And you say, okay, but don don't root for me too much because I said, don't worry, you know, they'll root for you in a gentle soft way because they're like, ye, I hope this podcast can help you like help me And the other thing is that they hope you get the experience that they have right now where you're trying to get ready for bed, you're listening to this podcast, but you're also thinking fondly as somebody that it dealt with something that you've dealt with or something similar, right? Like you're like, wow I really hope that you know, I really know what that's like and I really hope you can get some relief from that Like they're sending you well wishes they're rooting for you across the deep dark night And they hope you get that experience too because it's a nice one. thinking fondly with somebody and wishing them well. In some sense it's almost counter it's almost rebellious. And I don't just mean counterculturally, like in my internal culture would frown upon that? I don't know what your internal culture is like. And I don't even know you say what is that a workplace culture Well, I don't think so because now there's a lot of there's a lot of people in charge in my internal culture But there's and there's a lot of people that would call themselves bosses. There's a lot of demands But there's not a lot of u But you know what I'm saying? so But my internal culture brushes stuff like I have that off positivity kind Oh, you know, whatever both receiving it and giving it out, especially in this kind of indirect way. But all that said is that I'm glad you're here So a bunch of other listeners you're here. And they really help you can get the rest you need your life is more manageable tomorrow and the rest you need on a regular basis your life is better. so you don't have to dreadt going to bed. It can be something you look forward to or feel neutral about And that one day you could be getting the rest you on a regular basis, you could be out there in the world flourishing because that'll make our world a better place. And I think we're all in agreement that that's would be a pretty nice thing. So the way the show works is I send my voice across the deep dark now I use lulling, soothing Creaky dulsit ton, pointless meanders and superfluous tangents I go off topic, I get mixed up. I kind of forget what I was talking about. use filler words. repeat myself. I pronounce I do a lot of uttering or utterances. and stuff pops in my head like my internal culture. That must be a thing, right? Or is that like a A miss use of the word Even people I know that are a little bit different like me. Sometimes when I talk about them to talk about them, the people that live within me You say, well it can't be called a committee because no one is working together Uh So you say the committee that works within me, that would be it's like more of like a disarray Uh But that's okay. I'm in acceptance of it and I can be like the loving caretaker cleaning up like a knowingly Like they're all sitting around a conference table And I say, okay, can I get that for you? I's just put it over here. Would you like me to refill your water? All I mean, that would be great. Maybe that's where I get like I get them all in a conference room Okay, can everyone, you stay in this conference room And you were in charge of all the big stuff and the little stuff, right? everyone in here is essential And of course, your opinions are essential to all this and you're not know your expertise I'll be in here as your assistant, cleaning up you know, bringing you whatever beverages you need and stuff like that. listening to, you know, if you need to express yourself strong, we go ahead and do that And then but then every once in a while, will have to leave, you know, to restock everything. couldould take me a while And those are the hours I could start living my life, I guess. This could be a whole new way Where's the where's people be like what scoots? what's going on with you? You seem like a new person Well turned out There wasn't a committee within me, but I called them and they just right now they're debating U various things about committees in the word committee and committing to be in a committee So so I'm I'm doing great. I'm at the beach. I'm looking at clouds I'm talking to people holy mooly. Yeah, I mean, I got to go back in there every once in a while pick up clean up. they want to tell me that the water, you know, this this is you call this water Barely even wet. I said, you're right about that. I could bring another one. I'll go to a different water source You tell me how wet you want your water and I'll provide it. That's my job But oh yeah, I send my voice across a deep dark night, long soothing Croickketell stones, twmanderss all to take your mind off stuff and keep you company so you could fall asleep. And the thing is and I alluded to this earlier, this is a podcast that does take some getting used to like regular listeners, people have supported the show and still support it They say, hey, it took me two or three tries He used to show first I didn't like it the second time I wasn't so sure about it. and then the third time I fell asleep So just give it a few tries and see how it goes you really got nothing to lose. Also I want to do is help you out to Now if you discover that you already know this show' not for you or after two or three tries or four tries, you say, this show's just not for me Don't worry. I got a website set up sleepwithmepodcast. com slash no thank you where you could find other sleepy stuff, like other sleep podcasts and stuff to help you out because everything I set up to this point is still true You don't need to like me, right? You still deserve a good night's sleep. You don't need to like this show. But I do hope it can help you But when you get here, you're going to be skeptical, you're going to be doubtful. Those are just normal ways. You're going to have expectations and this show is a little bit different than expected. I mean, that is one thing you know, I pride myself on is being different than expected or whatever expected different They say you if we were running inspections, you would ever got in here Well, I'm just the assistant to the committee I'm the assistant to the food possible the committee. everybody in this room's assistant I mean, I'm here to assist everyone in this room. So yeah, So that's one thing to know. just give the show a few try, see how what happens. If it doesn't work out, doesn't work out. You got other options out there and I'll help introduce you to them. This is also a podcast. you kind of just barely listen to like background noise, like TV on in the other room a show streaming under your pillow an out of focus picture So that also it's like a friend talking to you about almost nothing. We say, I could listen to you I just want you to talk to me for a while and see if I can fall asleep, take my mind off of stuff, be here for me That's the essence of the show. It's something you could pay attention to, but you don't need to It's also a sleep podcast, but I'm not here to put you to sleep. I'm here to keep you company and take your mind offuff so you could fall asleep. but There's no pressure to fall asleep with the show. That's why the episodes are over an hour That's why we put out so many different styles of shows. like every other every episode is a little bit different style. mean we put them out consistently over month after month after month But yeah, we put out a different like different episodes. say, Ohh yeah, I don't know know about this one with Ray and maybe you're going to be on a balcony. But don't worry the next episode will be there but some people listen every episode, some people don't There's over six hundred episodes ready to go for you So you don't have to feel any pressure to fall asleep. I'm going to be here becausecauseuse my job is to be your boyfriend, your bore bay Yourre neighbor, your Borbi, your Borean, your boris Borloff, your chairman of the boards, your best bore friend f ever to keep you company and take your mount of stuff so you could fall asleep. Like that's my job is to be here for you instead of putting you to sleep directly, like it's a little bit different, right? It's an indirect thing. So Yeah, that's what I'm here to do is keep you company and take your mount of stuff and hang out with you and then you fall asleep So it's a little bit different the idea of being making a sleep podcast The other thing is I like to tell people about when they get here is the structure of the show. The show is structured in a very specific way, just to benefit the maximum amount of people it can And it is adjustable. So I'll just kind of tell you how just to adjust it and why we structure the way we do. All our shows start off with the greeting friends behind the by and air led jum of boys and girls so then I say something silly so you feel seen and welcomed in. And you say, okay, I'm gonna check to show out Then there's support. So like I said earlier, paying for the show is optional. Best ideas to pay for the show if it changes your life And you say, wow, I don't know if I like anything's ever done this for me. But otherwise, don't worry about it. If the show's just there for you Yeah or you're new If you're just in a place where you support stuff, that's totally fine or you can support stuff we do it together Then after the sport totally separated from the sport is a show within a show, which where' like ten to twenty minutes long. that I'm just almost to finish with, which it's like it introduces the podcast right. It takes me fifteen to twenty minutes and I follow a familiar structure every time But every ent is a little bit different. And the reason for that is that I don't know. the the introducing the podcast, Ill kind of talk about the hangout time But I've always found like if the intro was repetitive and short, I just wouldn't be able to fall asleep, al right? I would figure it out whatever part of me it keeps me awake because that committee or future committee and they'd point out all the repetition and then I would wake up. I want something that's fresh and new and familiar and reassuring And so that's what I strive to make. And the intro is a part of that It's also like I take forever getting to the point, that's why I make a sleep padcast. But the intro also serves another purpose. which is to ease you into bedtime. instead of putting you to sleep, it gives you a wind down time So you could listen while you're getting ready for bed, you're in bed getting comfortable or you're chilling out doing some sort of relaxing wind down activity whether it's staring out the window or petting your pets or whatever it is It helps set the mood for bedtime. It helps give you a buffer betweenight the nighttime and the sleep time and it can be part of your windown, which is what works for me personally most of the time and what most studies say works It's just nice to get eased into bedtime and this is the kind of time where we all hang out and and you get sent off into dreamland. So just kind of see how it goes like then after the intros will be support And then after sport, we'll have our bedtime storys and I'll be Ray kind of just talking about walking and meandering So what could be more I don't know. people tend to like those style episodes, but you know, if not, don't worry. We got two other episodes coming out this week for you. And if you find like your prefer story, only episodes, you can get those on Sleep withith Me pllus or we have another podcast bedtime stories from Sleep withith Me So there's plenty of ways to listen to the show and use your podcast app to build playlists and stuff like that or set a sleep time or Whatever ends up working for you, I just want to try to help you out So so I'm glad you're here. Myself and a team people we work really hard on the show We all earn this drive to help you fall asleep. So thanks again for coming by. And if this podcast has changed your life And you would miss it if it was gone. If it's a regular part of your life, it regularly makes your life better You're who we're talking to and trying to get your attention about like so please consider just like supporting one of these sponsors or supporting the show directly So we can keep doing that for you and for all these other people I was talking to too. Thanks so much Heybody this is Drew Scooter. I just want to lay out some of the goals I have for sleeping me. which really haven't changed much in the history of the podcast. My biggest goal is not to put you to sleep but to bring you some comfort relief Peace of mind, some good company in the deep dark night, a friendly distraction maybe bring you some sleepy joy and delight so you could fall asleep. but if you can't sleep or it's really difficult or whatever it is that you're dealing with that you know somebody's there for you, somebody's there with you that you could just listen to and you don't really have to pay attention to. because that's what I always wanted my whole life, particularly when I was younger and I couldn't sleep at all was just some kind of comforting presence to help me fall asleep or to get through the night. So those the main goals of the show. I'm not sure if you share any of those goals. If you already do, you're saying yes, Gots You've done all that for me. spread the word about the podcast or sign up at sleepingmepodcast dot com slash plus. So we can keep doing that. It's what makes the difference between the show being here for free for people to discover it, to bring people that sleepy joy and delight. And I'm so proud of that Either one will change the future of the podcast will make all those goals come true. Just like our first episode was you about you make my dreams come true. This next episode coming out. this episode is is u Cunity effort really. And if you want to be a part of that community effort, please consider supporting the show I spread the word respond it directly. Thanks Hello, hello hello everybody. This is your friend Ray. E neighoray and I forgot to get some area tones. so now I'm going to u stop and then you'll hear the area tone and that it's not called Aa tone, Scooter said. So you didn't hear a break there, but you know there was a break where I recorded some area tone so we could fade in to me working here because now there is some music going on. I think that's the poool music Last night there was a party. Oh by the way, hello. I'm Scoot' neighbor Ray And I'm sometimes I'm a guest here on the podcast. It's so good to be here in your ears And u T be with you Yeah I'm here on a balcony. It is a cool It's not balmy. I'm in Flora Florida here with Scooter We get scoot We getting a lot of echo here. This is an interesting balcony. And this is one of our balcony episodes. We're looking from a balcony across a lake retention basasin to another hotel with Balcaniesa. Hopefully, we'll be doing another episode from But we're here in O Lake Buen A Vista, Florida, technically And it is cool. We're getting a breeze right ono our balcony, not strong enough for the mic to pick up luckily because I've been doing this a little while Did I see it so good being here and he has I'm here to ray to just talk to you and put you to sleep just like Scooter does And plan here is to record a bit of a podcast podcast episode and put you asleep from this balcony And what I was going to do was talk about the history of this hotel And then our day yesterday and why we chose this hotel And just walk you through things and see if that, you know, that's enough for a little bedtime story and But I don't have the history of the hotel is on a device that we're using to record like us like a video of just a view from the hotel, which is of another hotel. And u We bought brought brought binaculars And but there's not too much to see. Maybe I'll get out the Ohh yeah, but the tripod there Scooter is on thing. So I don't have the history of the hotel in front of me, but that's fine because we'll we'll make do I remember what I read a little bit And that's all, you know, that's what S good has taught me. It's about the meanders. So who what where when why, how Scoot is also producing behind the scenes. But these are the things. he says, Okaykay, Ray, remember this is people's first time listening evenven though some, you know, some people are resting getting comfortable drifting off So I did introduce myself. I go on trips with Scoota, particularly to Florida. We're not going to any theme parks Well, we're not going any like a Disney theme px right now I'm in the middle of having a break with them like I just said,, an you little break from And we may go to universe looks we have like the Universal season pass, but Scooter said, we kind to make sure that it's seasonal. so there's a lot of dates you're not allowed to go Uh But just because we're having a break doesn't mean we can't come close, you know, so it's like somewhat you know, it's a break like we say, hey, well see each other things So we're here on the outskirts of Disney property. They This may be their property on hotel pllaazible Blevard. I believe we're at two thousand hotel pllaazible Lvard And I do have to also note that this is not a sponsored episode. We're paying full price for everything So this isn an ad adverseent or anything for this company or an endorsement So U you know, it's hard for me now to express appreciation when things are going well It is cold. It's it's cold. It's not cool Yesterday was very cold, but today it's supposed to warm up. The sun's out, there's no clouds. But there's a it's November early November scooter. towards mid late early November. So we haven't hit the fifteenth yet An U Yeah, we werere just here. We're going to see Scootas fatherers performing in a little musical play thing. And so Scoota said, Okaykay, let's get a couple balcony episodes done maybe a walking episode so It works out that these are I wouldn't say that this current balcony is a bucket list balcony But I think if we didn't record this episode, then Scoot would say one I would like to record from this hotel where we are now one day just to see what the balconies are Now that we've seen the balconies, we I can se you what I appreciate from the hotel. The balconies For a family that wants to see see stuff or you want to sit outside. If it was nice, it would be a perfect balcony. For recording a balcony based episode, we don't have like a ton of details to view Though there are some connections to the podcast episodes So I guess first I'll talk who who? I'm Ray, who? what I'm here making a podcast from a balcony to help you relax and put you to sleep Who what where where we're in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, where specifically We're at the Durery I believe it's called the Dury Plaza Hotel and it's on Hotel Plaza Boulevard, which I did say right outside of downtown Disney and very close Well, very close by scooter andized terminology. because we did walk about twenty eight thousand steps yesterday without setting foot into a theme park We get our steps s and Scooter and I And Scooter even said, Okaykay, Ray, we're going to have to alternate days like today will be a lower walking day And I said Scot to hear the bs Oh by the way, speaking of mores co good as dog, you know we moved. and so she had to change some of the TV viewing habits because u she the room she's she has a big living room where she stays and watches TV and kind of hangs out during the day and it has a different TV from where we moved because we moved into anyway. It's not too but So it has its own Now we do have access to the Adams family, which she likes to watch by the way, speaking of appreciation and possible endorsements, if you do live in the central New York area We have Dg Sitter walker that we could always talk to refer you do. Um But u That's sccoed scowed, But anyway, so was I saying? Oh so Ca watches she still watches Adam's family, especially like but that we, you know, use an app for But there's another app like built into this TV that automatically comes on And I think Scoot has talked about it before. So he's had he's tested out some shows And this is a holy meanda I'm getting good at these meandas because I just said scooters a boss and nowm a meanda that will meanda back to that statement But u So so some shows we've tested out on COa channels were Boba Ross, which I think and Ca kind of gots tired of it. I think though we still put it on from time to time Johnny Costson and David Letedterman. I think Dave one of them' on an app and another one's built into the TV. I think David Letaderman's built into the TV. which is always nice. Hes he's, you know, if he was that there, he'd say what I'm built into the TV top ten M Anders Ray could go on. number one you know, so Uh So Bob Ross, Mystery Science Theater has their own channel Now that's kind of when Scoot is working with Ko. he likes to put that on though He thinks that Co is getting used to the voices and so And Scoota theory is like, okay, maybe some of the like the voices of everybody' more consistent anyway But it is like an intangible like Adams familyamily has an intangible because Ca like took to Adams familyily immediately And u So But but so mystery Sit it is she's she's u I think she's on the same level as Bul Boss Then Scooter tried recently within the last couple of weeks. Wh's the boss which has a channel And this was a show that was on a lot in Scooters L. I don't know if it was on a reruns original both and Scoot us like I mean, as we as C has been watching it, there's only been a scooter did not see every episode of who's the boss because he's like, Oh, interesting. Um And so so Ka said, Hey, yeah, who's the boss? It was there was one good one where we saw one that they were introducing a new series. where I think anyway, anyway like then we try so who's the boss? I should have said said that last. But the most recent test was Fs, not F of wife. That's that's a show Scoota likes Um But no, no, not facts of life, but what's the name of the show Family ties. It starts with an F F That's why I was confused But family ties is Co has been watching a lot of that. Now Scooter does have a bit of a thing because he says, okay So this channel's on twenty four hours a day. That's about twenty twenty eight, thirty, forty thirty episodes of family ties. We don't know how many seasons there are, but we're guessing somewhere between five and eight And Scooter's already seen Scooter has seen the same episode come up within a twenty four hour period. He claims. I said, are you sure it can you know, be forty eight And he says, this episode was just on So that's a bit of I mean, with the Adams family cat, what we do is We started at season one episode one And then it's kind of scoot like let's you know, the app remembers where we left off. And then we get in late to season two Like in the high twenties, Scooter will make a decision. shouldhould I keep letting this run? Will I be back in two and a half episodes because he doesn't want to show to run out for coa because it comforts. That's the main thing. She sleeps mostly. M mayaybe she's listening to it, but it's a bit like a version of Sleep with me for Coa. She doesn't she said, you know, I don't need to hear my, you know, human companions's voice all the time. I get enough of it when he's say saying, Cet your police go to the bathroom for, you know so That's about S good to be in the boss, but what about here in Florida, right? I mean, right, come on. What was that me? I said, Well, I'm here to keep you comy and take your mind off. So we're here. Oh was about was I about to say the name of the hotel and I didn't? or did I say We're here at the Drury Plaza Hotel? I did say that And now this hotel has a like interesting history or varied history. As I think most of these hotels on hotel pllaus Bva do Um But u It's one you do see so it only became a dury Plaza hotel. It was a best Weston. It's been a travel lodge And I think one or two other chains in the history of this building, but there's two buildings. So when Drury took it over, they like originally they kept it as a best Westn then during the time where they didn't have guests I think they probably had plans to build a second tower U but u And they went through with those plans. And what's interesting is and it's interesting because Scoot's almaada did this in a different way is they built a building attached to a building or like so close to the other building then the two buildings could almost become one. I guess in a sense, is very very romantic construction technique as long as the buildings get along. And I guess so you say, well, this is your new life partot. and I want you to meet U now so so so we've seen this hotel in our days of the going here and we've walked by it. I don't think we've it's a bit off the road. So we've just never had the wherewithal to walk and take a look at it's a lobby or anything. And and these hotel plaza bouvards are not known for the lobbies. You know, the're more these hotels that have more utility And that's kind of one of the things that kind of pushed us over. One, we knew a hadad the older building had has balconies facing U I don't know, maybe three different directions because this building' like kind of like a Curved triangle type thing but we're facing we could see the EpCot ball, which is it's spaceship Eth. We could see the triangles top above the trees of the Dolphin hotel, we could see the building for Gardians of the Galaxy We could see the maybe the convention center and the entire tower for the Scot what's the name of that hotel hotel plaza He doesn't know the name of the hotel that he always wants to stay at the has balconies as well. It's u the Hilton downtown Buena Vista Palace is, I think it's what it's called Scooter. thank you for your help We could definitely see the Buena Vesta Palace hotel and Maybe it's service and construction or recall this thing There's a large utility building to the right of it. And then on our far right, we have the hotel pool which is playing music, which I think we can consistently talk over in a way And last night there was a party. Now this is funny here in Hotel Boulevard There's a convention going on of a pool convention of companies we did think about sneaking into the hotel or the conventions. now at this hotel There was a party last night that one of the things was putting on And it was too windy to record, but it scot It was like this is like kind of like a rave at a distance because a party was happening right under our room. I mean, the convention center and flex rooms or whatever for this hotel. L we look over that, the air conditioners for that and beyond because we're on the fourth floor Now first scooter was like, I don't know, but u I don't think the higher flowors views are Oh, boy, there's a hair and scooter. Now that's a crane Oh my goodness. a crane just flew right by us How beautiful it had black tipped wings And that's what I was going to talk about. So we didn't get any recordings of a rave at a distance, but we just probably could get a little recordings of whatever this music at a distance of pool music. and then you can kind of hear a little bit of white noise in the background, that's One of the retention basins here at the hotel a pond. it has, you know, a fountain to keep it keep the water from getting tpid But to our right are swampy trees. and what's exciting about those swampy trees. Now we haven't looked on a map, but we do know that right in the backyard of this hotel separated by canal and things that Scoota did check at one point is our favorite hotel here in Orlando. I don't think we can I think that's fine to say because it's true the Cyprus Cyprus Regency or whatever it's called. which we did think about staying at, but Scoota said, no, we can't as much as I would love to Ray, I don't think You know, podcast has got to come first because they were doing the last time we stayed there, which was like quite a little bit a while ago That was when they were doing construction. So we will have to and they' closed down all the tennis courts And then across the street from there is like this new resort, the Evermore resort which we were positing they own that property. Be when we asked at the hotel, they said, Ohh, well, that's not the hotel's property technically where you go ride your bike. We have episodes there. that you could listen to me, me and Scooter I don't know if we've ever walked there. We've just ridden bikes there And I think we did at least one episode from Balcony there So that's somewhere to our right though we can't see it right now. I can only see the trees. And I mean, I would love to go wandering in those woods. It's just that's probably a lot of water We could also see the Circ de Soleet building, which is so large. it looks very close, even though it's quite far away So that's like a distortion of reality is something because it's quite close. looks quite close. and we can see Saratoga Springs Hotel. and a couple of the other hotel pl hotel plusa Boulevard hotels as well as more of downtown Disney and the Bonnock Creek Rorts, which will also prettyt close as we were shopping prices for this trip. we were looking at the Barnett Creek Rorts where we couldn't get a balcony room. I think there's a lot of conventions in the area because prices were very different day to day and night to night And Scooter really had to lean in and do his planning. But so this dury Plaza hotel U like yeah, we looked at it. Oh it's construction. So I don't have so they built this new tower connected to the current tower. and it's a Stuckco building. I don't know if it's always been Stuckco, but at a distance, it always looked like it was like a like a cement tower And it just it just had an interesting look, kind of like a non glamorous contemporary hotel But now that I'm standaying here, well, it's it looked like gray cement, but I guess it's more of a tan stocko the walls. Has it always been that way? We don't know Um And then they built a second tower attached to this tower. So it kind of looks the same. Now when're in the stairwells, you notice oh, okay You could access both towers from the stairwells, but it's like there's two fourth floors, two third floors. And when you're with scooter that can be confusing, which I'll explain because of the some of the positives of staying here. O it's walking distance to downtown Disney It's closer than a first the high Grand Cyprus and a favorite one of our favorite Hyat plac is the Hyatt place. right at Lake Buena Vista. I mean those are a bit further away. So so at the end of the night or if it's warm out that extra mile or whatever. I'd it's probably probably a mile away, right Scooter He shrugs possibly door he said door to door may be a mile You don't think it's going to be a mile, but it may be a mile. So that's nice of being like a little bit close to even though last night we're walking back, we said, oh man Uh That's I'm seeing the the Disney character balloon. I see. Oh it's going up slowly, very slowly. So there is no wind There was a breeza earlier, but the balloon is going up perfectly calmly Um the Dury Plaza hotel. So some of the perks here That are really nice. onene. you better sit down for this one. There's no resort fee Um And so it's Like nowadays, a lot of the places are saying, they give you the full price with the fee But this place is no resort fee. So when you look at the price, you say, okay But well here's the thing, there's no resort fee, but they do have a place to work out because Scoota worked out yesterday. They have a pool and a hots up and the pool looks pretty nice. It's too c cold to swim. and they got chares around there. It looks like they may even have a snack bar Um Now would they probably charge for parking. we don't, we don't, I don't know, but Scoot is guessing that they probably charge for parking But that's a standard practice so we can't, I mean, doesnt say, well, we don't have resort fees or but charge for parking and say, okay, okay, well Um But right, where did that come from? You know, I'm looking at the lake between us and the Buenaesta Palace and I'm really enjoying the view of the lake as the sun comes up because it's somewhat, it's like about ten AM when we're recording this. we got up, we we had a little breakfast. o because okay, so that's the next perk. brereakfast They don't just have breakfast. they have a kickback hour. and if you drink beverages ador beverages, You're allowed to have three beverages. I'm sure it's not unlimited top shelf But we saw people with glasses of wine and stuff When we are coming back here which I think must have been at the end. and it's like a hour an hour, two hour thing. And then they have likeike tacos or chili, like some almost dinner. Or something you could have for dinner. I don't think they call it dinner because it's probably like Oh you make your own You know, walkking taco or something But and then they have popcorn and soda hour later after that Now we did not check either of those out, but we did check out the breakfast, which is You know, similar to a hotel breakfast, but a little bit better. I think maybe they used powdered eggs. We don't know But to have Mickey waffles, pancakes, oatmeals. We had oatmeal and yogurt And then today they had biscuits and gravy. So we made a sausage, egg, biscuit and gravy sandwich there So that was a nice thing we had for breakfast and coffee, of course And so the other thing is so we were on the fourth floor. So we were just able to go down two floors on the stairs. I don't know if I said this earlier, but so the because of the two towers, the stairs so there's like two third floors, two fourth floors, two second floors because the towers on al lign perfectly even though the stair case is in between them. So it's so when we left after breakfast the first day Um Scoot was like, whichich other two floors are we on? I said, I have no idea, Scooter. At least he remembered what the flooring looked like. So we checked one. He's like, no this isn't the right flooring So then we went to the second and then we said, o okay, we found our room They also have shuttles to the parks. Now we're not going to the parks, but they have a dwery buses, not shuttles. I don't know if they go stop at any other hotel or what the scheduling is But the fact that they have a dedicated buses is really nice for families because this is a very family friendly room. and then We've had two excellent nights of sleep. So the beds and the pillow they have nice flat pillows Um which Scoot to was says compares to like a good quality high place pillow differentiffere construction, but not over puffy And the beds are comfortable, the room temperature is comfortable I mean, Scoot likes to keep it a little cool and he was even pushing it last night, even though it's very cold outside. Uh I mean, it wasn't that cold as as in the room Um So a lot of locals from people had breakfast yesterday because there was a little one day holiday And they were talking about, you know, coming driving in from Tampa or other parts of Florida. And that just makes sense. I mean, I guess like this place is just a great value So if you're going to come from Florida and stay for a night or two Um Yes, plenty of room. I think they have different size rooms, a lot of different layouts So a lot of good options because I don't I don't know if the other the newer rooms They remodeled everything. So our rooms is perfectly nice. But I think the newer rooms I don't know if they have balconies we don't know Oh the construction too. So this is a very interesting construction When we were doing our research the new tower was built with these foam concrete cement forms which is a very innovative way. It's the first big kind of building in this area to be built that way I wish I had more info, but it just sounded really interesting and exciting So yeah, good great great, great place to stay. So so yeah. so okay. so let's talk about Who what where And we got it where we are. So what where what when that's not so So let's talk about our day yesterday. seeee how long that takes us If I can take on a day working with Ray Well off to Dreamland, right Okay, this is ready to take a little break there because there's so much joy happening outside on the bell. You didn't hear my break actually, but There's so much joy happening out on the balconies with like children. I mean having a wait to I don't know say I where we going to a park? What are we doing playing music and singing. So the balconies hereia the metal, they do make a great musical instrument It also let me lean forward and see the construction of the newer building And I don't know if they h like put something over the cement blocks or These concrete forms are like full story each one. I have no idea that makes me even more I was picturing much smaller concrete foone block construction But it looks like the phone box could have actually been entire your floor size. So I don't know. That's another interesting thing to learn But I was going to talk about our day yesterday. So we did Scooter said, Okaykay, let's with the weather, we were going back and forth And we got a late stop because we had quite the journey here had just from central New York It took us so long as it's ever taken us to fly to Orlando. and it was just unlucky we learned, hey, maybe now we got to make sure to try to book or pay a little bit extra especially if it's only twenty thirty, forty dollars to fly direct because it just will lower the like the odds because we got unlucky we like we would have ran into one delay inevitably not related to weather after our layover But we also got into quite a delay just from the things that just happened. We stayed Scooter stayed very calm because he was like, okay, but the hardest thing was we didn't get into a hotel till about We didn't actually get in bed tntill two in the morning Um, which is fine, but so that threw our day off yesterday But so and then theic cold so Scoota said, Okaykay, what if we U get moving. onnce we got moving it was like noon. after we ate something. We woke up in time we woke up like nine thirty. so we had time to eat breakfast And then Scoota needed to, you know, needed to work on the podcast stuff. So we left the room at noon. and Scoota said. OkayK, let's we weren't committed to leaving the hotel all day but we were open to it. And we brought proper gear because Scoot has just been shopping thrifting and he got this these wonderful coats, packable coats for us. drrifting. at a third of the price, the one he has has a the zip is imperfect But the coat is I think it's a brand new coat with the imperfect zipper And the zipper still works like seventy percent of the time And in Florida, I mean in central New York, you'll need a full zipper. But here Hving a nice coat with a partial zipper still works So we did have enough stuff and then once we got out, the sun was out yesterday as well And you know, living in central New York now, Scoot is like, okay, well, I think we need to be out in the sunshine. even though it's cold because you know we might as well enjoy it And then after we left our room, Scoot was like, maybe we should just stay out all day. because we were going to go right back to the room, maybe U in school does like a and then just come back you know, when it gets dark because it's going to be very cold E with AGa, you know, you don't want to be just outside So what we did was Scoot' like, okay, let's we just we didn't do any recording because Scoot is like, Okaykay, well look at it this like a location scouting day. gathering information, you know, for this podcast here. So we did go in If the lobbies or the hotels on Hotel Blaza Boulevard we never went into before, just to check them out And so the first one we went to was the double tree. Now they didn't they weren't serving cookies as good as like, how, maybe they'll have a plate of cookies out somewhere I think there famous for the cookies And that's a double tree in and sweets. it's just double tree sweets. And it was nice nice enough normal lobby. Then we passed what used to be the B hotel, which is something else now. Now we've never stayed there But we have gone in there to return cs twice, I believe And we've also used the restroom in there when we've been recording U when we're walking doing one of these styles episodes because Scoota knew what the restaroom was So we didn't go in there And then that's a nice like retention base in you pass Th that's a holiday in, which we have stayed at for one night. not as part of recording partot of vacation becausec G gets one free night a year those hotels because of something so we may stay there again and Scoot at home, I forgot about that. such a convenient One night stay. onene of the best redemptions convenience in his opinion because especially if you're coming from California, you're not going to be Or if we would have known this one we're getting at two in the morning, you say, okay, that's just a place for me to sleep for the night But we liked it enough And then after that is another Hilton and It's an interesting building. and I don't know if it's been here the whole hotel plaazible, but it does look like a U Um almost like an apartment building. I don't know. when Scoot we were looking at it last night, Scoota said this looks like it would be in like Right outside of Washington, DC is like a hotel or office building. It's just very straightforward, I would say, no adornment very utility. but we did go in that lobby And that's where the pool convention was going on. So it was a hive of activity. There's supposedly a Benny Hanna. We wanted to look at the Benyhan and just look in to see if anybody was launching, but there was no we couldn't find the Benny Han but a nice enough hotel then I think that was it because there's a windam, which we've also been in the lobb before. Oh Scoot one being in a note Now we forget. he thinks it was at the first at the double tree. They had a dirty soda in their I think it was there. Yeah we couldn't get it. just because it was just at the right time of day Um And I think they use sugar free syrups too. mayaybe you could get sugar free syrups And yeah, oaks they didn't have Coke zero listed. They only diet Coke and Coke. But so dirty soda If you haven't heard of it, it's like kind of like soda mixed with syrups and kama And it sounds strange but we've had a few we've made our own at home and actually like Mostly sugar free or totally sugar free. sometometimes without syrup, It's been a while since we've moved. We we haven't done it, but Scooter would do You could do rua with vanilla creama, look kind of like a rupia float or Coke float and his daughter made some And then Scooter even tried like making like the I guess he said on TikTok is something like you do like a protein likeike he would say, okay, I could have a zero ruby with u and protein powder and some sort of cream thing mixed together And he said it's not bad. Um I think I' in TikTok and things people do it with they go to the seven and eleven, they'll get a protein drink, a protein shake and mix it with A soda Um So that's not dirty. So it's like homemade dirty soda. sounds dirtier than it is But I just saw it stuck out and they weren't advertising it as dirty soda either because maybe that's a brand or something. but It was just said, Wow, cool at the coffee shop with the little cafe coffee shop Okay. so after that, we crossed over Um into the downtown Disney brridges, which where we once tried to record traffic driving through the rain And you know, we're remembering all the times's such a pleasant time to walk, even though it's cold that all the times where it's raining, about to rain or incredibly warm So that kind of put a skip in a step there Th then we walked we walked into Saratoga Springs just a pace. S' just walked into Saratog Springs Uh And we just did a small loop Scooter was also like working. so he was on the phone. That was the reason he's saying I can't go into downtown Disney get him' on this call I'm listening into that we have to learn something. So We just did a little loop there and then Scoota finished up and then we went into downtown Disney And we were trying to figure out launch and
