It's almost like a festival of football isn't it for the world? It's not necessarily best countes are all the best players, I suppose. That's what I feel. you look You can look at even what Morocco have done with the fact that they've participated in the World Cup. they've done well in the World Cup, what they've done for their infrastructure, the way they've built up and then getting to the semifinals. they've kicked on And that's what the world cut's about giving people the opportunity to get in, get that experience to try and go again, inspire people.'s That's why I like it though. I love it. I know there's a lot football, of course but probably know professal point of view the knocko games in there are better at Yeah are more enjoyed because obviously there's a bit jeardy involved some of the group gamees. but you want you want those games where those so called mino countries are playing against it Because if they can beat them or they give them, you know, what Argentina getting the last World Cup. Yeah. Yeah. Saudi You what I mean? It's like that was like an unbelieable. It was amazing. Yeah. And then when they done that when they done that then all of a sudden Argentina then all of sudden they realized theyve got a kick in top ge. every game was like a knockout game for them. and then They just the bigger teams can recover fromep back with calless if you lose your first game is obviously long way. I just w the big teams. I think it's up to Mino teams to really have a goal so as then you can You can keep getting the chance for other teams to get that chance to play in the world c. everybody shouldn't. I mean the cynic The Cynic says it's all about money. It's extended to five and a half weeks, one hundred and four matches. It's just about money, but actually think There is an element of the World Cup ha if you can never get to a World Cup as a country, because of factors only say twenty four teams of the It is a problem. not developing the world. So a throwing countdown is going to be five seconds of a play deliberately delays the start of a restart of a play, the throw can be given to the opposition was that once he's got the ball in his hand, I think so yeah. So then you could just stand with a ball st there for a bit and acc Do you I get the feeling is though with referees in tournaments they're so well drilled, they'll do that briefing with the players before the tournament. I mean you'll alice before a tournament A referee comes in to each camp and gives a briefing that happens before every single tournament They will say to them, if you walk towards the ballute I'm sure they'll say to them. if we'll be on to you. it'll be harsh. And they are really quite drilled, particularly in the early parts of tournent but what was the sorry? why did the? So basically, I think is if a player deliberately delays the restart of play, the throw can be given to the opposition. So a throwing countdown's been introduced of five seconds I'm massively up for that say that's we'veentioned I don't know many times in the Premi Lague this season, the amount of time that's been taken overthrows. What it means is the sent are afterft if they want to come up They're going to have to sprint up Yeah. They're going to have to go over the ball and they have to get in within five seconds So did you' got to be able to that seems short, on in five secondst? Yeah. But I think it's when they got the ball in hand, isn't it? Yes. because if ever they're going to slow the game down now And somebody these be of the heat and some of this might be genuine. they might take they might struggle to get over there and having a breated and getting their second wind and then all of a sudden're getting the thring spot. sometimes when you'realking, you're taking a little breather. , they might be going too harsh on that guy. I think they're not enough. I think to be fair what the games witnessed in the last twelve months, those teams through unbelievable set pest preparation. They're literally stopping the game for a minute. And I'm talking by the way I'm talking L two games and Roy, you've watched a lot this season. I'm watching the game the ball being out of place so much and literally every free kick now the center hs ago. It's a bit of commonensen't somebody's so guidelines One with the goalkeepers as well when the goalkeepers are going down. they changing them quick free kicks and quick throws' come back He said did I just have to adapt so that actually the defense might not be preared. A substituted player has ten seconds to leave the field at the nearest point. If they fail to do so, the substitute can not enter the field for at least one minute and the team is going. I mean it's so annoying watch the play walking off slowly, even when the refereees done even when another players come and push the to go like that and they don't go a fighting Watching out the Yeah I hate watching that. Even if you're you know, even if you're away from home, if you' if, you know, even if I'm at top them and I'm you got to get off that end and walk around, you just got to get basically every situation that Clubs or teams are taking advantage of which The gaming aren't they? Yeah, the gaming it base. Y. Well,'s a to bit. Okay. Ne one. Next one, off field treatment. Players who were treated by the physio must stay off the field for sixty seconds. It used to be thirty. There are some exceptions, including for goalkeepers, injuries and if the opponent is booked or sent off. So I like that So I hate this rule, the idea of someone being genuinely injured by another player The player's got a book for it. The playerers down the floor he's been absolutely battered. And then he has to go off and he gets punished by having stay for thirty seconds. So if there is a booking now, Say I foul Roy, I get booked. He doesn't have to wait sixty seconds to come back on because he's accepted horrible challenge. That's good. Yeah. So I think that's a real good introduction.'t have No because why does he have to be booked? So he can still hit someone, He can still go down. Why does his team need to be down to ten men for a minute? I don't like the rules of I've always thought I don't get basically that was braling because people thought people were feing an injury. so people now are only going to go down if they're properly inj. So if they get sent to the side of the pitch it'll stop people feing an injur. It's been in the Premer League for a few years now. But I still can't get my ge on it. You get fouled And then for a minini Your opp position have got an advantage? Yeah. It can't be right. Just get him off and get him back home I actually don't get it. I Even the thirty seconds I don't get it. Yeah. I actually only think this happens at the end of like ten minutes to the first half and probably ten fifty minutes at the end of the second. I actually don't think this happens for most of a football match where people fake injuries and want to be off the pitch I genuinely don't think that. I genuinely think players be fair if they're going down with that thirty second rle. they're probably in you know, they are injred and some of them are genuinely injured I think it should be Labicon. If youve got a cut and you go off, I think now you' have to stay off for a bit longer you can't have st have to stay off for thirty seconds. I think this minute thing is coming the Premi League, but I don' I don't like that. I'm going to stop people feaying a ningja or people who've got proper ningjea or. They've got a bit of a knock But I do like the booking and the red card element that means that at least they're accepted if a player gets done properly then they you have to stay off the field and be punished something that's been How amazing if you get taken out of the N ifgst red card. What will they do then? Will the VAR person say That's a also we don't have to go to VR. let's just say it's VAR. Let's's give a goal kick and the check it straight away, it's obviously it's come off the defender Sory straightaway corner. Good yeah It has to be done quick. Yeah quick Yeah people dont I think people generally don't mind VR if it's done quickly s the movies when we're waiting. Yeah Second yellows can be reviewed. Players, obviously yellow cards have never been able to be reviewed before. So if the referee goes like red card Right? And it's it's a yellow and a red can be reviewed. the second yellow that can be in a red can be reviewed. The first yellow doesn't get reviewed. But there will be no reviews for potential second yellows. Yeah. So if the yellow is not given that could be, it can't Oh yeah, don't know what I mean? So if you're say it might have been a yellow and it wasn't given, it can't then be given as a yellow and sending someone off. So it can reverse a red card, but it can't give you a red. It can't convert a non yellow second card Again, let's say I tackle Roy for a second challenge and the referee thinks I'm not going to give him a yellow, but VR thought it was a yellow. He can't say he can't can't. So like the penalty in the Champions League final, for instance, peopleople said that could have been a second yellow. VAR couldn't intervene and go that's a red card now. Yeah. You get what I mean It can't give a second yellow, but it can take away a second yellow We happy with that? Yeah. I think we're happy that are' we? Yeah take it It sounds great. FIFA to be fair. you can criticize FIFA for many things. I actually do think they get their referee in stuff. like they test it in Dony in under twenty one tournaments in sort of Wb They get actually think they test it in like the right way in a stressful environment for I actually do think All of those are pretty good. I think they're pretty good of those are really quite good in advance. They make the game better for the fan, don't they I think? Yeah. They want to game quicker in The only thing the first two of them about the time wasting again when we're talking about these conditions You know, that'd be Yeah, be under pressure from gers to be I think what you'll see is right backs and left backs if they're not already walking overwards the ball in a deliberate fashion and making sure that once they pick the ball up, they're going have to be ready to take it. I think it might take a little bit longer to get there, but It still have to be reasonable time. I think it's going to be interesting like at the start of the season the referee really implements everything That's what's going to happen with this. They're going to do it for a while and then people get used to it. But like at the start, we're not going to be used to seeing people. He's been booked for that. Oh my go He's got five seconds. Yeah, I'm just looking at all of them You obviously're going to go through it and have Yeahah, I'm just not convinced A the likely defense is going to be Reese James, you would think, would youa? Right, Nico O' Reilly, left bite, would you say? Yeah. Yeah, o, obviously having a brilliant spell Mark G Ge definitely would play and then it's either conert or Stones Yeah Send it back. you know what it' be it's just send a half so would be boring me I don't know what you think but I just think I just think Imagine playing in France and the games getting stretched out I think the squad in general feels like You're looking at a lot of players or you'd say very good Premier League players international players. That's the way I look at it. You know the playays youour and I'm not talking about defense. I'm talking about The group I just feel there's a lot of really good Premier League I don't know You know it's Champions League or international. what it is for me? You know, I remember like when when I went to the to the Europeans at the Europa League final when he's toottenham in United And he was kind of intimating to things what he wants to do and the players he wants, not taking the best of this and that but taking the right player for this particular situation, what he's this is what I feel he's doing's almost playing a chess game. Now what we got to do is we got to see how he does because what's going to happen is is that People are going to judge it anywayere and he we wanted any elite manager that's going to make the kind of decisions for himself. He's making this for himself in respect players he's picked, he's not bothered about what anyone thinks about he's been left out.
