Money has stayed the same you know, I thought Yeah. You'll be happy to hear Likewise He, no, happy. Wow, you know, I'm back in here Yeah Does it feel good memories in here Four years ago I was in there. Yeah, D't know. This is where I found out I had to sabotage my team. Yes. I thought I was being brought back in here for a Re filming And they shut the door on me. And then they filmed me and I don't like that. For anyone listening O anyone who maybe does this show in the future, they will be always, aside from I don't know, the toilet, they are always filming it You're always being filmed. I don't think that's what about in the dressing room? There are certain arereas you can go where they're not filming it. Yeah. Y dressing room. Yeah Tilet car on the way in. Yeah And also when you know, the cameras are on. ye. Butpart from that, when they're making the show, they're filming you When the green lights on Yeah and they they do a lot of that These is These are the sort of behind the scenes titbits that our listeners really enjoy by the way knowing that when You see people on Task Master they're being filmed at that. They know they're on taskaster. Yeah, yeah That is the great series, isn't it? off course. That is the great series. That's the one that surely is It will peak when it's a group of people that don't know they're on it Comedians you think What What's the show the MacIintre show where they they I don't know. I think they go to the dentist or something and then the wall the walls falls down Yeah yeah, that's good. That Yeah it's size That is yeah. It's not Pinewood anymore. Where they film it? They What it f in the theatre? master f film? I'm saying this is t the BBC studio works. BBC stududio works five dentists. The wall comes down. They're like what the hell? Alex is there, Greg's there. Yeah. You've just been on Taskmaster. and they've been they've done a whole series. Yeah, they all look each other. Yeah, that was a weird day Do they think they're setting someone up for Michael McIntyre's show Yeah. So yeah They think They think they're all Michael Magazine. But they' they've been doing taskmaster. Imagine imagine doing Imagine they you're gonna do the wheel. Yeah So you sit down and we blindfold you. Oh, really, I never knew that. Yeah, we blindfold you before you start the wheel. Oh, I never knew The things you learn, joke. You're actually at the padium. It's my Saturday night show Uh, all right false cutting up You're actually the B withC stududios You're on task one. You're on task one. So you have Do you have to hire in Mark Maxa for that? Yeah, you do, yeah yeah. the for two for the first two bits you've got to hire him in for the first two bits. Yeah because they think they're on the will. Yeah. So the first two bits yeah because the wheel to Michael McIntyre's big show is only a very minor rug pall, isn't it is slightly confusing Yeah Yeah The big the big reveal comes with Taskmaster. Yeah. It's quite a big Q quite a big reveal Yeah, that's hu reveal. We' done the Yeah, twice Yeah. Yeah, yeah, I love it I love the wheel. Have you done the whel I know ne the will. Why I've been hed Well, that doesn't mean you're going nowhere near it. You might do it one day. But you could only dream. What would your expert topic be Was that it Well you have to have to you have to know stuff from that thing? Hang on U so , I've not been asked. You you don't anything about it You don't deserve to be on the wheel I'll go in the will What is this? Well you need a topic. You got to no stuff. Well, no, I mean, the public is. But you have a specialist topic. You know I hate? I hate when people special special Keep that in. Be there'll be people that do that in life and think they' not seen. Yeah So keep that in I don't like when people their' specialist subjects is like Only falls and horses series six. It should be all of only fours and ores. But Jous Yeah. I don't think it should ever be like popular culture. Okay, ye. What was yours? Well it' just my mastermind topic was thirty Rock Whatas it? Yeah 'use I wanted to watch thing. Yeah The whole thing. I knew that they weren't going to take anything from beyond the first three seasons Be they're not sitting down and watching it. Thirty Rock based on Lord Michael's SNL, that kind of thing. Yeah I saw a clip today, Lure Michael's advice to people by apartment You can't afford that you think you can't afford. the most boomer advice possible. Yeah's wnderful. By A by property being advice is crazy. Yeah. Buy an apartment that you think you can't afford. Yeah Why is that good advice? Deina Feay was saying it. Deina Fay repeated it back. She said She went, Oh, everyone will answer this question. She's obviously been asked what advice did L Michaels give? Yeah. And then Conan says tip fifteen percent if you're famous. otherwise you'll get talked about in newspapers. But that's out of date because in America it's like twenty percent minimum. Yeah, is it? Yeah. twenty. Even for buying a coffee, it suggests twenty percent I'm in a pub yesterday where they're telling me do I want a tip? Yeah for buying a beer. dayay of it No. Well, we should talk about Task Master Series twenty one episode seven, John. Yeah. It's lovely to catch up though. Yeah Yeah. Yeah I think you just asked me,, you know, Happy to be back in the cara C Yeah yeah. There we go. to save some time there. And what are your thoughts on the lineup for the series, John? As a former contestant yourself, of course, I think you now have look for the mix. Yes You look for ye I was you know, like, um When u say, for example, England they're looking to build a worldorld Cup team. You need flair, youth, but you also need experience You need u Hm You know, anchors h So when I did it, you're looking at your Dara and your Sarah Milligans Yeah to be the Anchors. Yes. People turn on the teail you go, I know them. Yeah What fuck is that So are you the youth flare element of it Me Yeahah. wasas I? Yeah No, that's mania Okay. I was God knows. So yeah, what's the category? So in terms of theng if they're building the England squad you've got the anchor you've got the anchors. Well, Amando Onucci No, I'm talking about you. Yes. What were you in terms of this in this England squad analysis hairy w god Who's that guy? Which you need in every football team as well. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You need a hairy left backack. Yeah Um So Yes. my point being You know, look at that line upp Mando is your way he's done it all. Yeah But a newer generation Might be going who's that? Yeahep Just check your eyes, seey Also, the Amanda Nucci show is fantastic. It is So then and then you've got these two draw lines H I I love Joe. Yeah. startarted out with Joe. Yes. First person I met during comedy I think he's got it that he sat next to him like Joel' Hansome. Yeah, yeah And he sat next to that guy. Ive I've not looked at that man As much as I have watching this episode. Yeah. Be ha I haven't seen any of his films. Yeah Wow. Also there's a bit where he's He's he's u He's kind of got his arm P pointointing at something on the screen? Yeah and I'm just zooming in on his arm. He's so like, yeah Is is he, um Wh'm I dealing with it? Who is it? What? I on. You probably should have open with that question. Is it easy like He's a movie star. Yeah. He's a comedian, stand up comic, started as a stand up comic. Yeah. ye. Did he write a film with his wife? Yeah, called The Big Sick. That was a big with wife Emily. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oscar nominated for that. Oscar Nom. He was also The first time I saw him, he was in a show called Silicon Valley, an HBO show. Right, whichich was great. Super him and Martin Star, Thomas Middleitch. really really good show. Great. aboutbout a startup. and he's been in a marvel film called The Eternals. 's done he's done lots of stuff. He's done a lot of tework He's filming the new series of White Lotus at the moment. Hven H and Kogan Shocking. Yeah So's that's all you' dealing with Right. so he's he doesn't so He doesn't have to do it. He doesn't have to do it. He loves the show Right, really. We one of them. Yeah. because I'm looking at him. I know who he is as in likeike, u Clearly I don't, but L I know he's like famous. ye. God he's handsome. Yeah, he's handsome, Big muscly boy as well. Musly. Yeah And then I'm just like, you know, Joel must be like, at least I know there's an order of seats, but don't. It's fallen badly for Joel, ye. Because Joel, any other lineup? Yeah That's a good point. In any other lineup He's probably handsomest. All right , what year did you do you? What year did you do yours twenty eighteen Yeah, you were getting good then You had a year so changed. You know it So was way before that That's w for? Yeah, twenty four. Let me check Maya And I chipmentire U twenty twelve Was it twenty twelve? Yeah where you went fit It wasn a time was it? Yeah, twenty twelve twenty forty six Buing up U Right, so look, there we go. You got Amando, Joel Camill loveovely u Men, Yes Right, then to the right of a man no Paige in the middle. Paige in the middle. She's fantastic. She's fantastic You you know what I thought, watching her Yeah It'll make sense. Yeah. The career. Yeah I haven't followed it I know she did Gavinn Stacy. I'm sure she's done a lot more. But it just makes sense, man. She comes into the room, you can just imagine Costing People go Yeah. Well, yeah been bowled over sat like, you can imagine going, all right, bye Ges They all look each other Well of course Totally two sugars T sugars a crash Oh is this the crash I assume this was the peak. You Cott tell. No No, It's exactly the same. And we got Amy as well Get away Amy. The youth, the flare. Youth, Fare. Who's this? In the living rooms Who's that Googla And you know, she's on That last one laughing thing. Yeah. Biggier, bigigier for Aamy. Bigger huger. Yeah financially probably annoyed they've come in the same year. You want to spread that out. Tax wise. Yeah I mean, but she's brilliant. Yeah. And again, I'm watching it, you know, we've known Amy. I know it's probably ten years these people. I don't know. And you kind of go in yeah, makes like just here we go. Just it all adds up. Well, here we go. The prize task is the best bumpy thing, John Um Amy brings in a one way plane ticket from London to Venice. I did not know that London to Venice is a famously bumpy plane ride No, I didn't know that Have you been to Venice? No, but I think I should go soon. I was reading the paper this morning It will be underwater in You know like two hundred years. Hang on. Yeah, I know. Yeah. You didn't read the bit The important bit Is it two hundred years Is it two hundred years This is the craft. I met a craft. I did. do you know what? Do you know what I was reading this article and I was looking for that exact question. Yeah. I was going right, but when Yeah. And it wasn't really telling me. Right It would be shocking if I got the the article now and it was in the headline. that wouldd be bad for me. Apparently, but there was like pictures of it floods a lot Well, because it's on water, right? soort it doesn't make sense. but I didn't realize how bad it like it will be underwater. Yeah But that's so key as to when it will be underwater You're thinking about you need to go soon. If it is two hundred years, you don't need to go soon. You could go on the last day of your life And it'd be fine So that's why it's really important you find out when it's going be underwater In our lifetimes It's not underwater Right, so you don't need to go soon. No, I don't need to go soon. but Yeah But eventually probably everything will be underwater, right You gotta think or burn to a crisp Yeah. Yeah, it's either ru. Yeah. U They said it's underwater Gad I went, right, Ill go to that And then I saw her watch the episode and she's booked a ticket. Yeah. So it's a bumpy ride. Yeah. It's like bumpy And then you get there And you know, it's underwater. Yeah You know,'m not going. Yeah. I've just decided Okay, I'm not going. okay. But it's a good price task, I thought. Armando brings in a braille menu to an Indian restaurant. I know you're a man who enjoys an Indian meal Yeah. Haven't gone blind I pretended to be blind in a restaurant on. I very bad somber My friend reminded me I did this when we were young and I made a table of French kids laugh. So I was pretending to be blind, whichich isn't PC H You were a kid. Yeah, I such bad sunburn. Yeah Okay, but how are those things connected? I think u How are those things gonna? I don't know. I I was bad like bad. Like nearly had to go hospital. Yeah I went to a restaurant. But that's not I don't want to focus on that. I want to focus on the pretending to be blind. No, I think I just pretended to not move and then the kids were looking at me. Yeah. wasn't he moving? Yeah because I had bad sunburn. Couldn't move flexibly. All right, okay. Then I just stopped pretending Tee so I'm gonna to play off the fact I can't move because of the subbverb by pretending to be blind. Of course, blind people can move. Yeah Yeah, I know. I don't know why they would laugher But my friend who I met on Friday, David, said he spoke to his mum that evening And they both agreed that I was funny Big moment. Dad gave me a swig of cognac from a hip loss because I was in so much pain. Oh dear. Did you not put any cream on? What happened? Oh no, this is bad sunburn Yeah, yeah, so because you didn't put any cream on as in. I thought Sun cream. Yeah. Yeah. Now this what I'm going to say is going sound mental. Yeah No way. I thought if you're in the war. Yeah Under the water You're protected. Okay W that has a magnifying effect. Yeah Who told you that? No one told me I went out that shocking. Yeah. terrible Baks, you know, I You gota look off your skin. Slip slop slop. sllip slop, slop Um All restaurants should do Braille And uh Whyd you bring in an Indian restaurant one I think he just had it. I mean, it's the best bumpy thing, I guess he likes Doest like Indian restaurant. Do does he? Well, I'm sure, that's, you know, ye So that's the best. How' he going? Oh, it's that the best? yeah. Yeah I it Yeahah. Yeah. J it Have you seen the Braille section of libraries No The books are huge Well I guess Braille takes up more space than ye, I know than the font in other books, right? Yeah. Yeah, so it makes sense. I know massive. Yeah how mass are we talking? Oh likeike not possible likeike U, I don't know, something like What's a big book at the moment It's like a famous book at the moment. A famous book. everyone reading. He's said big again. Yeah No no, I'm trying to think of like what what wass twenty twenty six's book was a book I'm quite behind on books. I'll get it, hang on Right, a three hundred page book It's about the size of your arm. I love how quickly you gave up on Thinking of a book as well You would I'll get it I then changed three hundred pages. Osman an Osman book. Okay, yeah yeah. there me go. Yeah size of your arm S that your arm get your arm out. Yeah. Not the size of Richard Osmans spine is that? Yeah. No, Osman, no, Giana brought in Mr. Bum Oh yeah. painted glass b. sixteen. Yes. She wouldn't be even be drawn on that. She seems to have no issue with that. Amy literally keeps going. You were sixteen. Yeah, yeah And she's like, yeah, was sixteen. It doesn't look like sixteen year olds made that Well It looks like art therapy. Yeah. It looks like there's real dark stuff going on in the brain of that sixteen year old Yeah, Just mold your feeling. Yeah ye Vsery funny when she said they had a bull at the house. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, I couldn't believe it. Yeah. She whyy do they still have it I reckon they've got my family the same actually They've kept everything. Yeah likeike a squiggle on a bit of paper. Oh really? they've kept everything That's quite sweet though, isn't it? Yeahah, it is. But I did a big clear out last year. And uh fuck me You didn't need a L they kept everything They kept a sign that I'd written. I telling my brothers to be quiet in the mornings that I put on my door because I could hear them in the bathroom coughing up Flem How old are your brother sixty? Well, they coing got Slem And smke your rollies outside. How old are your brothers at that point How old are your brothers, John John Way, look at. thirteen forty. thirteen fourteen. Yeah. Yeah. I put a sign on, Well, Ale, that can't be right ' then I'd have been eighteen. Not doing that My bill was I just I could hear them in the mornings, clearing their throat. Hacking away. Yeah, ye. I'm I put a big put a big sign in my door. Yeah. saying shhut up. I can hear you doing this. You know, obviously. Yeah Look at that I stood as a thirty eight year old man last year holding this, go why they keep this? But I think that says a lot about you as a child, right? probably? Probably yeah. Yeah. Well, like right inside right inside sa door. Stop stop coughing up phlem in the bathroom and trying to sleep. I think it's a lovely memory. I used to come into my brothers used to come into my bedroom and just They'd wet tissue paper And then it just straight up the right out of the ceiling. And it dries up there, doesn't it? Yeah, my bloody The bedroom is like, what they stallic tight? Yeah You know, those caves you can go. Anyway, we enjoyed Mr. Bump. Joel brought in a picture of his acne ridden face when he was a teenager Yeah, handsome boy, you know, you're looking. Still handsome he didn't even look acne ridden, you know? Not really when they zoomed in You know, Ane's not going to be laughed you know people it can affect people's confidence usually. You pretended to have acne once, didn't you to make some French teenagers laugh I think I did I don't think I' pretended to have acne once. call back to the blind thing. Yeah I guess. Yeah he look ye he didn't have proper acne, did he? No, St handsome Yeah got over that pretty quick. Although he did like, I tell you what though And this is where I think the show is obviously very good I've known Joel as long as you have probably That is nearly incredibly twenty years. Yeah And you know, it's just one of these things where you're watching it and you're like Oh, that's the guy I know So, you know, he's obviously done so much TV and And the way he's describing it, I don't know. Throughout this whole episode, actually was like, Yes, this is the joy I know and have met. Yeah all that time ago. It's just you know this is how this it is the success of this show that you do see people exactly how they are. It reveals people. Yes, it does. Yeah, but not in a masing way yeah, no. I mean that's I haven't seen the last episode obviously, but The last episode of this series is Job pulling his head off and just inside his M get it then then I'm like Oh And it was a task and then you see Mo being handed a task the first day he arrived saying pretreend to be Joed D incredible throughout the process. And I love seeing Channel four get on with ITV like that. Yeah Like when the channels blend. Yeah, the old foes. Yeah, it feels ex that, oh, olive brranch. Olive brranch Olive brranch between legacy media. Yeah Maail brought in the original plans for the Cyclone roller coaster. Oh, that was good, J. Various things to keep looking and it's the emotional roller coaster of thinking you had herpes, but then you didn't have herpes. I hated it at the beginning. I thought he was trying to be funny. Yeah You know what I mean I can't be the only one there. Well you felt the audience go with it as well, actually you? What They thought everyone went there. Oh shit no He's trying to be funny. I think he was trying. I think they're all try. It was funny. The the reveal at the end all fake fuck. Yeah. As he was going aroundound it, you felt the audience, you felt the room go He's trying to be funny. Don't do this. It has to be. I'm not sure I did feel that. Oh Watch it back. I've seen it three times. Watch it back He's going round it and you just you feel the dick feel the oruditss. Well, that's rolleraster. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. When he flips it, Yeah, I'm like you ard It's just like I'm like, he's got me. Yeah. Hook line syinkc Yeah I thought, oh my God Famous guy He loves the show. It's like his dream to be on the show. Yeah. You didn't know that until today, but I didn't know that until today And then I' being funny. Oh my god Rule one hundred one Don't try and be funny Anden he swings it around and he's like Oh my God. Brilliant. You know, I didn't realise he was an Oscar nominated That's the Oscar Num He. Is it for script wrriting sccreened it wasn't it? Yeah, I think it might have been. you think you had screamed origin screen just sting. He knows what he's doing. Brilliant. Did he win there? He did. he got five points. Joel got the four points for his acne face, Armando got the three points. Amy got two points and Joanna got one point for mister Bump. So what's a really great bumpy thing to ride A roller So this, I brought in the original plans for the cyclone It was made in nineteen twenty seven. So you see that's plans for that. and then there's some it says, look at the bottom left corner. you wantan us to talk to the b corner. You seem lovely. Look at number twelve. Num twelve. G to number twelve. Howelve' that? Yeah. You have herpes V topop right. Right. Okay, there we go. Just kidding, you don't have herpes. You Right. under the coaster. A coter there. Yep, there we go. It's actually not a big deal to have herpes. You shouldn't stigmatize. it's over and over It was a bumpy ride. Task one, turn on the tell, you may not touch the telly. Fest button presses wins, your time starts now This is fun I love this one. I would have loved to have done this. Really? All the remotes, they do different things You got to find the batteries, the one without the battery It was exciting and just pressing butt I like pressing buttons and things happen, John. Well, I don't like I didn't like tasks like this. they would wind me up too much I think maybe that's why I kind of I think obviously when you watch it, like again I'm sure this is what everyone does, but you go, what would I do? Aio I'm pressing for it. We're talking triple figures in How many buttons I'm pressing Becauseuse you're trying all the remotes, aren't you Do the do what's the generation now? What do they call them Zed? Are they Z? Are they ? What are they now Alpha Oh the newest ones are alpha. Yeah But they're like little kids Right, okay Do they know what remote controls are for TV's Well, some of them are babies So I guess they babies I don't know babies don't know what ak patrol is. See, there be things I just want the listener to know. There'll be things that will be edited out of this for taste, editorial process. but then they'll keep things in like this. Well babies don't know world about control it. Yeah Just say, it was quite eighties. I was like, o wow, you know, batteries in the back. But there's still remote controls in the world. In their houses there'll be remote controls. Most people have got a telly, right K on water telly is YouTube man. Yeah, but you can put YouTube on the tey watching telly. They got the iPads on the phones. IiPads on the phones. They walk past the room They walk past the room Yeah with the adult that they live with. and they look at the adult pointing Yeah the Remote. So they seeelly ye and they think What a dinosaur And they walk on. But they would still know what that was They know what it is. Yeah. So your point was, would they even know what a remote controll is But yes, it just got me thinking about remote controls They used to Ratrols used to be connected byy a wire. Yeah Pre our time, right? Yeah. I don't remember that happening. No If they were massive as well, Rbetan control. me and my brothers misbehaved. Yeah My mum took the aera out the TV Did you write a sign saying please put the aerow back in the TV b I used to make my own aerial with wire cat hanger. And it worked. Yes. Smart guy, smart. Yeah fewew electrical burns You know You gota watch you gotta watch Lve and kicking somehow. Yeah You mistaken the area out on a Saturday? Oh yeah, if we misbehave What sort of things were you and your brothers getting up to? D't know. They played robot wars where they just ran at each other and I was the ref couldn't be further from robot was J just look all ag get robot was ust paking the shit out of each other. Whose robot was this This is also the second episode of this in a row that we've talked about robot Wars, by the way. joke It's come up. Yeah. todayoday. Yeah Imy Gladhill. What the hell It was connected to a task, but then we spoke about roobot Wars for a while about how I used to think about robot Wars so much. Unbelievable I mean, I I don't when's the last time I said that out loud? Yeah twentywenty years Sotherough. R he is. Did you like Philippa Forrester I did What ye. I mean, what j openment isough Oh This was much easier over Zoom. No, it's so much better than. Whatose it just get on with your day. I'll put on a shirt for this I just think yourour face when I said, Philippa Forrester, it's amazing to be here when a gif happens That's going to be a gift. You do that. youryes chang in you It's gonna to be a gift. know what I liked about her? C. She was quite serious. Yeah Do you know what I mean? Yeah. There was no like Yeah They're robots couple of the geeks, rightight? Yeah, these lads. Yeah. Do know what I mean? She wasn't making fun of them. No way. And that is why things like Matthew Kelly stars in their eyes Philippa Forester Robot Wars It works if you take the madness seriously. Now tell us Master But yeah, she was great. She didn't suffer fools You know, a couple of family of geeks I've built this thing gets mulled by I don't know, Matilda. Yeah Philiip is lightight How' do you think that went Bonon, where's you now Do you know who I heard on the radio being interviewed? Yep. Kayla. Stren? Strken. Yeah She was brilliant. Yeah I don't know if she's tour apparently. Really? Yeah. And she stand up. U well et me started on that. Everyone's a stand up, apparently. She's doing a tour about, like, you know, animals Yeah. incredible like life. Yeah. And then she was like a DJ. She had she released three She's like, she DJs Ieta and stuff. And she had a single in the top forty in the nineties. They played a bit of it. That's pretty good.. So there was a It's a difficult task for some people. Oh right, yeah, the tasks. So the remote controls, John. So obviously one button sets off the printer, one button blends the doughut. Oh yeah the printer tells you gott to find a doughnut and eat it by the end of the task. I like watching Joe eat the doughnut. Yeah. because that's a man who watches what he eats. Yeah. His stag d. I didn't go on that Yeah It was a, uh it was um, Wasn't it like on a u int wasas it like didnid't he do like a call it like a cycle Uh Sin clus? Yeah I don't think I went to Stagy. I went to his wedding but I didn't go to Stagdy I know your ey's wedding. Yeah. Covered for you on your radio show. Yeah, you did onnce Once is enough U Yeah, I like the buubble and smoke machine. Did youjoy the bubble and smoke?. I love that I wanted to see I just wanted You want that room to just be full of smoke ye ye. Beacause again, I was thinking, yeah, if you hit that smoke machine early,, you're in trouble. Yeah. No one can see anything printer, I'd love to know how often that But it's amazing that a printer went off at a specific time. Yeah. I was like how many times did they have to do that? And do you see how quickly it printed? I know. Wow, where'd you get those prins Tim Ky has just bought one like that A quick apprent. told me about it. Yeah. And he said, did I want his old one And I was like, Well, what was wrong with your old one? He wass like, Well, it's just slow and crap. There's another one. exist. Yeah Well Well they do. That one? Tim Key's one? Yeah, he's bought one Um do you think would you have spotted the battery thing, John No No way. There was a very funny bit If you're listening, pause the episode when Joel is by Alex's feet Yeah.s he's like on all fours. Yeah, he's in Alex's area. And he's really still? Yeah. I don't know what's happening But then he just looks off at Alex and he's like a little dog. Yeah. But he's so still. and I was watching it going,? Why's no one moving Really baby Alex didn't like him being in his area. like he doesn't like that. Yeah In his area. Yeah Bea that feels almost behind the scenes that bit, doesn't it there Yeah. do you know like There's only one episode of Only Fools and Horses Wh Series six? It's series five. Yeah where you see the wall You know O side onn the other side of their flat. Yeah. Is that incredible? Yeah. So you see the wall where the TV's again. You know where you w? Yeah, yeah yeah. you see the wall. And you know, as a kid, I remember being like You know that to Caprioan? Yeah. What film' that? or he points? Once upon a time in Hollywood? What's that? Yeah. Yeah because that wall, you know the wall I'm talking about? Yeah. When have you seen that? They only showed it once and it was an episode of O of Fs and Horses which Ironically Has no laughter track. There's no audience. Really? Is it like a sad one No, is it toahallenbach That no Isn't interesting? Is it Yeahah, when you think about studio sitcoms, you never see the other side of that thing.. So now I'm thinking of Central Park All right. What Do you ever see that? What's the sofa facing Exactly. Yeah. That's a really good question because Well, sometimes you see through the window. so I'm just thinking, do you ever see past the sofa when you're seeing through the window, central P? That's actually an awful place to sit in the coffee shop. It's really bad, ye. It its facing a wall? ye But That's why I'm thinking is there another sofa are we like No. No they can't be. no one's walking through. Yeah. So they're just facing a wall. Yeah you We should go through every sitcom and just like just everyvery studio s Yeah, but go And they're facing a wall yet. We won't do it now. We'll do that on on our other podcasts that we're gonna do. Okay ye. I So Amy presses twenty one. is that? Is that the podcast I get with a gamble? Yeah. upate. Everyone gets these ones there it's like Yeah, this one's flying. So John and Erd are doing one and it's the It's the sitcoms. What are they facing? two episodes there's still. Well, friendriends and only fools and horses. Let's do one more. Yeah Do w wantan to decide now? No, we'll end on it. Yeah. Okay Amy presses twenty one buttons Doanna presses thirteen buttons Aanda press is nine retty good. Yeah, especially for a man who didn't quite know, I think what was going on Joel presses ten, but that includes two buttons on the printer when he spots it. That's what I'd do. I'd be investigating and I'd be pressing other buttons and forgetting that counts in my button count. Yeah, I felt for him there. I thought, yeah, annoyed He has to get his egg out of his hat. Well, yeah, I didn't know what was going on there. Yeah. I haven't seen the other episodes. It was revealed in episode one. Joel was given a task as soon as he arrived to keep an egg on him concealed at all times. And when Alex blows an air horn, he has to get the egg out within thirty seconds and show it to Alex. Oh And then he finds out in episode one as well that he's the only person who's been asked to do that Well he finds out in episode one. Yeah In the studio. That's the first thing happens to the airorn. Yeah. Oh it's so annoying. Airhornes off in the studio because he has to do it for the studioos as well. He gets his egg out Everyone's looking at him like he's insane. Holds the egg up. It's only him Oh, right I didn't know what was going on. He takes his egg out of his h, right Yeah had a must have. Skippp something, eh? Yeah, you skipped all the other episodes dr. Yeah Yeahah. You skipped website is this? Seven? Oh Kamail absolutely smashes this Yeah He looks at all the remotes first. He works everything out before he presses any buttons. It's very smart. He sees that the Glden remote has no batteries in it. He works out that that must mean it's the correct remote. Yeah. And he absolutely brute forces some batteries out of one of the other remotes. One button done. Yeah, I did like that. Yeah. it's quite cool. And again, it just shows That's what the Oscar nominator in mind is like. Do you think that shows more because Armando's been an Oscar nominated as well, and he presses nine buttons Yeah. What was he nominating for? In the loop, I guess? In the loop, yeah So what if you if you're not be nominated for an Oscar You press less buttons in life? Well, this no, this is what you said, remember? you can't say to me now as if I said this Oh You said Cail Cle presses if Yeah So Camle, you're saying did well at this and I presses ery few buttons because he's been nosk nominated but I said our maner hass been nosk nominated, he presses quite lot of buttons. Yeah. So I don't think it's connected No I got it wrong. Joel gets one point I mean, fucking out jon this. We're only on Tas one Joel gets one point, Amy gets two points. Janna gets three points. Amanda gets four points, Camelle gets five points. Task two T, John It's three o'clock. Yeah The capapk I went, If you're out early, mate, I'm going to be waiting. so just let me know. I was like, yeah, al right. O the way A lot lighter than I said a bit I'm moving else. I know. I've gotta go see a play. That's not to about seven though into the woods C on Thats too You going to theater on your own?h? Going to the theater on your own? Yes There's obviously not wrong with that. I go to by myself I go to see stuff, but it's when You arrived here, I said you look really smart, You look really slick today. Yeah. And you said, yeah, I'm for theatre. Oh, you thought I was meeting someone. We've just dressed up smart. Just tinking yourself. I have to sometimes I'm dazed. Yeah. dress smartly. That's nice. I have to u Also I go to the theatre. I feel you got I think you should wear shoes and a shirt. I like that. Trous is optional J do anything really, because he throws himself into it with such glee. And then every now and again I just go, Oh my God he's forty. Mad isn't it? I pay a mortgage. Unless the hidden compartment pops open. Laranto goes well, I don't imagine this all lers open. Itserving energy. It's been love lady. The difference between us is so fantastic. I' like sret byee. Oh sacred comp. imag I know it Task two, H have serious fun in the lab without smiling. One of you must enter on the first whistle, the others on the second You must each secretly bring something fun with you and we must all leave as soon as the time is up. You have two minutes in the lab and the first person must enter the lab in five minutes from now. And of course then there was a part two John compleompletely revoice this footage to create a dramatic short film. You must not revoice yourself. M dramatic and convincing short film wins, yourour fifteen minutes your time starts now How are we feeling about this Well, I laughed per hard when they showed the film of Amy. um Chouldren come out. Chouldren come out rightight cuts back to the studio and says quote I don't know what the fuck was going on. It really made me laugh because I didn't either. No. I think everyone watching has their ide what was going on. So it's just so funny to watch something so silly Be it's so pointless. it's not making any it's so weird as well Beuse you look at different voices with faith, you know, what the hell's going on? And then it just cuts to just Creg shaking his head genuinely Yeah, completely puzzled by it. Yeah, baffled I mean, so obviously so was I. But it's the confidence with which they go into it as well, because Kamail's like Oh well we've al we've got a storyline built in because of the way Joel had his face all taped up Well,. So I thought they were going with like a Frankenstein type thing But what they went with was someone Someone's husband was missing and then there was a monster chasing him to kill it. I can I don't Is there any point trying to wrap our heads around? I have no idea what was happening. Yeah. What I did think though is with these team tasks when there's three of you. Yeah. thingsings can be Tricky With that one in particular, I would say, yeah. Yeah Cott to Joanna and Amando and they 'cause there's two of them, there's just like a There's a cleanness to that. Yes. it's just a bit more easier to navigate. Yeah. although there was a lovely moment Who is it? Is it Joel whose logic about in other people's voices. Yeah, him thinking there's one. Yeah, there's always one left over. Yeah. Now I'd say this is a compliment. Yeah But that sounds like somethingone I'd have said. But I saw his logic. Yeah. So when they're all laughing at him, Yeah, I felt a little bit like standing up for him. I do. Yeah, I kind of agree I got what he meant. Yeah 'cause he's thinking two people swap And then then one person's doing themselves. Yeah. Yeah So you know, people laughing I am allud you laughing I am. I thought Oh I didn't mean that like that. I said this about Joel last week and I'll say it again On the show, he's a total Himbo Himbo. Yeah. What's that A male bimbo Gorgeous and stupid Have you made up that word? No, no, no, from It's from the nineties. Bimbos. It comes from a time where people said bimbo so what's say about gorgeous and stupid? Yeah Wow. But he's not stupid of course's not stupid man. He's just a bit ditsy on this. He is a bit dsy Yeah But that is who he is. Yeah But againain, it's a huge compliment. Yeah. But he that is the The boy I met, we were boys. young men a South London comedy scene We're already running over, John. I't I know what it gets like if you get a nostalgic, if you get misty eyed. We'll be here for hours. start drifting Mite. It was it was I mean this was a bananas' task. Yeah it was it really was chaos. Yeah. It's proper mad. although so Amando and it reminded me of his show. Yes, the Amando Nnuchci show. Yeah, where he is like in the suit that he's kind of wearing in Taskmaster and he does quite a lot of It was a bit of like the early two thousands Would I lie to you worldld where it's like public broadcasting or like down the camera kind of saying hello and then really something mad. Yeah. So he kind of was doing that. So then when they then have to re Do it It's perfect. It works out pretty well for them. Yeah. The way he's looking at the camera and the way he moves Yeah quite stylistically. You can add anything over for that. yeah. Is that something he like, obviously he doesn't know what the task is. But I just thought that was interesting that he does that. like he has his style. Yeah and then it actually works well with if it He kind of is neutral enough with it. Yeah, where he can then play with it So there was a cleverness to him. And then but you're right, when it's two people in that scenario They're only doing one thing to like one person's doing something to someone and the other person's doing something to someone else. So you can put there's many more things you can say are going on than the chaos of having the three people all doing their own thing One of them walking through with tape on their face just magm. You can't apply any story to what's going on It It is chaos But yeah, the dramatic film about a woman being impregnated by aliens was great And aliens, the aliens with telling someone to do something even th they didn't want to do it So and the world very Armando, I think, being like, well, what we'll say is that the world ends if you mess with the stuff in that case Oh yeah, the dice. Yeah, if you mess with the stuff in that case, the world will end and the aliids made them do it. H It was play u S Sns and ladders with my son. Yeah and uh When I saw the dice, I was like because I'm playing with Dlo at the moment with him. Yeah. And he it just rem moment he always wants six. And it made me laugh. I was like, Yeahah as a kid you always want six. You want six. Well you But even the but was explaining to him sometimes before we get a ladder. Yeah. Six will actually get you a snake I want six. Okay Okay, He's ambitious Oh yeah. withith sn nexts and thaters? Yeah. Oh yeah It's going to be like a a attack billionaire You always want six Qion for you. Say there's a It's I know we don't have time for this, but just very quickly a board endnds on thirty, say? Yeah squares. Yeah say, uh, you are U you're on twenty six. Yeah. you roll a six. What you doing what in rules of the game wise Yeah Well. Well, H if you roll a six and you gotot, you got to go four Yeah to win I think within the rules of a game You should not move. You should then wait until your next r you should be able to get you should be getting four or less. Oh really? Yeah yeah If you might roll two, then you move forward two, but then you've got to get two exactly. If you roll a six, you can't go You can't go to thirty and say you've won. Oh really? Yeah yeah. So you wouldn't roll six. Move four and then move back two You know what I? Roll six, move four, move back two. What are you all about? No. You do that? Is this what you're teaching your son? I just let him If he rolls a six and he has to in his four to win He's done it. Yeah there was a time I'd go back, I was like, you got go back two. Well, that's crazy. What is If you're letting him win if you letting him win with six, that's where he wants to roll six all the time I't ask if you're still playing cafes, but I'm not going to do that anymore we can talk about that privately Amy Joel and Camle for their chaos get two points. Joanna and Armando get five points. Completely revoice this footage to create a dramatic short film. A dramatic short film. This is what It is a ha hoop thing face. Oh. Well, this could be a dramatic film very easily. You must not revoice yourself. Most dramatic and convincing short film wins. You have fifteen minutes. Your time starts now. But there's threeree people. Yeah. Can everyone play someone else? Yes. mathematically? We work. Yeah. And just in my head, I was like, Well, two people are gonna to play each other than there's one person has to be instuff How would you suggest that I do your voice? I mean, just try and do like a Pakistani guy. What could go wrong? So how would that go? Well, now you've g you've given me the go ahead. Yes, I've given you the gohead We might not show him giving you the go ahead. Task three, makeake the socks stand up, you fifty minutes, your time starts now. Yeah. A lot lot of socks, four hundred seventy two socks, they wered. Funny reveal when it showed how little Joel had done. Yeah ye, really funny. 'a I thought he was doing so well. Yes think It was like he's doing brilliantly.. He's so excited. he's found the fence. He's doing it on the cactus And then it turns out you just spent ages doing those That was fun. Yeah. And'd also that sock going on the cactus I wish they I wish they kind of res showowed the clip because it was sat so satad. Justs way it slips on Yeah Yeah, is good. And also it goes beyond Like rudeness, if I'm honest Because you immediately maybe think maybe rudeness. Yeah. O on Nob Let's see Is that what you're thinking? Oh Well, that feels a bit. But that's what you mean, th It is what I mean, yeah But I don't do blue really. No if you're But I think alluding to blue is the same as doing blue. Oh, allude to blue. Yeah But I think that's the same as doing blue because what you're doing is you can't take a step back from it, you're going, rudeness. Everyone's thinking You've made everyone think Johnny and a knob And then you can't be like, sorry, I don't talk about stuff like that. All I do is implant the thought in your brain. So you go in a room, you allude to blue yet Someone goes, Oh, would you mean this? Yeah And then I can't then throw my toys at the pro. No. Be that's what you meant, and that's what you've made everyone think. Yeah. You can't go, Oh, I don't get involved in stuff like that. Yeah, you can't take the moral high ground. No. would you brought in the low ground. Yeah. you've gone wink, wink, nudge nudge. Yeah and What you mean this? You in this Sake a button He's sick He' sick rat. Yeah, you can't do that. Right. Learning. Yeah. By all means dont you don't have to say the thing, but you can't be upset when someone says the thing Yeah. Yeah. Yeah Yeah, sorry, I've got a bit of fence. Yes Sider I brought it up. Yeah Joel gets ninety one socks and I think Joel is one of the only people who does this properly if you're asking me. Well, it annoyed me the way some people did this. Yeah, it annoyed me I kind of don't mind Amy rolling them up and standing them up like that. Yeah. But then trying to find these loopholes. I know it's what Taskmask is about, but this one felt like a practical task You' just got to stand up the socks And no I love Armando inui. I think he's brilliant. This one was nice I don't think this should have been allowed. Oh really I don't like using the camera effects when it's a practical task. The same thing I'll hart back to this Noull fielding camouflaging himself by using the edit to shrink himself down to the size of a banana and putting himself in the fruit bowl. I remember that. Hated it. I think that's a nice rule. Yeah you've just said. Practical task shouldn't be able to use editing. It made me think though like going back to the team task. Amando is It's like he sees himself as almost like a silent film kind of character. Yes. A lot of the stuff he does is quite It's like he's thinking. Now maybe I'm projecting because you know we all know that he's a producer and a director, but it is like he's thinking about how does this look So when he does something like that with the camera That's just how his brain is. Oh no you are you're bang right because When we had Amando on the podcast, he said it took him ages to get out of producing directing. Oh reallyally? lookook at that Yeah, so he's definitely got that brain that brain going at all times? so Not to pat myself on the back but I noticed that ye But it obviously looks great when he does look to flip the camera up there then the walk and the the walk is wonderful. Maybe I'm being too grumpy about this, but I just think When there's people running around genuinely trying to make the socks stand up to then moveove the goalposts feels a bit cheeky. feels a bit cheeky and wrong But There are people who do this show who u Quite high end. Yeah High caliber. Yeah. Oscar nominated things like that And I like watching them sometimes. They're going bring a different energy to it. Well, Ill tell you what the energy is. Don't waste my time. Yeah. But unfortunately they're on a show that is all about that. Yeah I like watching them No names, but I like watching it because I'm like Well you got somewhere to be, have you Youve got a weaker this Amando's not one of those. No, we're not saying Amando's one of those. No're just it's just the quickest route is something. Yeah yeah yeah they want to go over. But I remember doing it. Yeah. And I remember I can't remember what task it was, but there are certain tasks where you go, yeah, I remember filming that. Yeah because it was late And that was like task number fifteen or something. Yeah. And your brain does go right, okay What is the quickest way of doing this one Jonna puts on the socks Yeah, I mean. crazy. It is crazy. ninety five socks. She startops saying she's in pain. It's like, well yeah ' putting on ninety five shots. You know, you wear one in real life, right It's a good torture method, that actually, just makeakes someone put on as many How many pairs of socks do you think someone would have to put on before bottoming their leg popped off? off. Yeah three hundred But then it will it get to a point where it's impossible too physically put on the sock Yeah before it Yeah. slices the leg off. That'd be good on how to. Yeah a quest. We could do how to. R how to. Yeah. G for a don head Yeah Beuse he was bald, yeah N's doing it. Yeah Iagine that was the rule with Ed, we wouldd love you to bring back bigig bak. Yeah. There is a catch now Cultural appropriation means you got to have the same haircut as they had it. So you got to have Is that anything to do with cultural appropriation? You you got to be like you got to have John Vergo's perm I don't think'd do anyway I't think I'd w to do would break anyway now. No Id think about that. Yeah. tellell you what when we do how to, you can't do the thing anymore Oh no Mad, I've just remembered that. It's mad, is't it Both resisting doing' it It' ne It is ne. It is neat, lovevely, lovely. It was nice just way of ending a show. Yeah. You doing it? No Are you doing it film it now you come mewhere Is it Joel gets one point, Joanah gets two points, Amy gets three points, Camel gets four points and the big five points for Armando for four hundred and seventy two socks. Camell. Well all I wrote down was, why is Camell laughing like a cartoon baddy while tidying up A think first the laughter came when he struck upon the idea of stuffing a spoiler suit full of socks. It's like a man that's standing up. Yeah I like the final image of the man standing up. Obviously we'll only be allowing the socks that Wa but wait what do you mean? what What do you mean? bl Live tasks, snort, Raspberry or whistle in the order the taskmaster desires, the taskmaster will give you a number sequence and you must reply immediately with the corresponding noises. onene is snort two is Raspber, three is whistle. If you make a mistake you're My successful snortght Raspry and whistle responder wins Do you think you could do this or you couldn't do this because I'll be honest. Yeah. definitely couldn't do it. Yeah because I didn't know what the hell was going on. Now of course I could have rewound it to listen to the rules again. Right. But I was like, how were they doing? L what they What was the room J me to re You me to rewind it What what do you mean what was the rule? I've just read out the task I've literally just read out. Did you tune out again Tell me the truth No. Okay, I didn't che out. Allright, so I don't know what the hell's happening But I just read the task out Oh that's incredibly. That's one. Did you know what the task is now? No But I didn't chunew out So you must have done John. Didn't youun out completely listening Cognitively this is incredible But it is, isn't it? Yeah. I didn't chune out. So tell me looking at you. Tell me what you this said No ide idea. Do you even the basic? Raspberries? Snorts. Snorts. I think each one's got a corresponding number. Right So one is now I get it. onene is snort, two is raspberry, three is whistle So if I said to you one, two, three So I didn't zone out I didn't it, but now you must know what it is. I didn't zone out Yeah. I just went right in my head as you were talking to me I was going, Yeahah, okay, I got that. So I don't I need to hear it again the numbers and the snorts and the thing. Again Didn't se out I was looking at you But that's not what zoning in means. If you're looking at me, you still have to be listening and taking it in I was taking it in. Snorts Raspberry or Wesle in the order the taskmaster desires. The taskmaster will give you a number sequence that you must reply immediately with the corresponding noises. One is snort, two is raspberry, three is whistle.. Are you gone again? No I've got it. Yeah, but it's gone. What do you mean you good then you don't have it I had it, but I didn't have it have it But you can't say I've got it but it's gone You can. So one Snort It's a snort Tw three Now what was this?u I didn't know what they did when I was watching it. Yeah. Don't tell when you were watching it. This forget that now. This is my brother's. Coughing up Flyenn Number three No What you think it's was doing You think it's one snort two raspberries three, your brothererss coughing up phlem You think Greg sat there going, Amy Gladhill, please, can you cough up flem like John Karnes's brothers? sleep One two. Three, I don't remember C whistle. Do you know what I whistle, I can't whistle yeah. So as I was watching this, I was like,, I can't whistle Who admits they can't whistle? Cail, right? And then Someone else can't really whistle. Yeah, yeah. Joel does his thing. withith his fingers. He can actually do it. Yeah funny that I I thought Interesting But Camal does this Joe other C really. Yeah childild is this. It's funny. whistling can divide people. Some people hate it Do you know what I mean? Some people are like buuck It gets under people. It does. Yeah. You shouldn't whistle in theatres 's that's a thing. because that goes back to like Whistling was a way of bringing in scenery, I think it or something. so it's like whistles like you try't whistle in a theatre And then I used to go out with someone who whistled. Yeah Remember thinking it. She had lots of clocks on her bedroom wall. Have you just told me everything you know about whistling Yeah, and I just cut you off the clocks bit because then kn you were about to get all of your clocks thoughts and memories.
