Welcome to the Tasmaster Podcast. It's Ed Gamall, host of the Task Master Podcast. It's another Zoom one this week. Zoom is I'd say fine. That's how we always used to do it. I like being in the caravan to record them. We get a good video obviously, but this was necessary. this was another necessary Zoom one. Last week was Jason Manzuas, of course, lives in America this week we had to have Kamo Naniani on the podcast. He is a brilliant competitor in this series of Taskmaster season if you want to be like that. It's been, you know, it's it's late on to get a commail episode nine, but he's a busy man. We're very happy we've made this work Dellight to have Kamaail on the podcast. Very excited to speak to Kamail about his time on Taskmaster. We've also got so many episodes to talk about so many things that have already happened. So it's an exciting time to get someone on. We're going crack on with it. I hope you've seen Taskmaster sereries twenty one episode nine. That's what we'll be talking about. If you've not, go and watch it on channel four dot com or YouTube, if you're international, wherever you watch it and then come back and listen to this podcast. It's going to be a fun one. I've got loads of things to track to Kamale about, especially his Gambellian energy. Gambellion is a direct quote from Jason Manzukus. Let's crack on with it. This is Taskmaster series twenty one, episode nine with Kamaail, Naniani Welcome Kamail to the Tuskmaster podcast. Hey, thanks for having me. I wish I was there in person. I'm sry I couldn't make it up That's absolutely fine. You're the second Zoom interview in a row. It's perfectly acceptable. If someone's American, they get an immediate pass on doing a Zoom interview Who was the other Zoom Jason? Jason Mzuas last week. He's always just before me, isn't it I will. But you need you need to look how of this bitterness now, comeand. No, but you have to now. it's my engine is his engine, you have to let people know that I was set to do it two seriesies before him. so that it's not just my word for it. You know I was there making it and then something n couldn't quite get it to work. Well, what I will say is Jason on the podcast last week said that You got into Taskmaster after he recommended it to you. It's absolutely not true. That is in fucking infuriation We know he's an agent of chaos. Yes. And I don't think we should listen to anything he says. Well, he also said you are very good on the show and he's really enjoying watching you. Should we listen to that? We should listen to It's chaos. It's not fully lying. Fully lying would be predictable There There's a genuine wisdom and truth among you know, Blame M Bise. We'll pick and choose. He also He also said, I just want to get this off off my chest immediately. He compared your energy in Taskmaster. He described it as gambellian Meaning it was in the style of Ed Gamble. How didd you feel about that? Because I know that's something you are specifically avoiding No, I didn't specifically avoid it. I think what we have, both of us is We both like to win and we were both fairly competitive and I had this weird thing where You know, if I'm if I'm if I'm at a party and a Board game breaks out. Emily's always like you have to be a little bit careful And so I went in wanting to be extra careful for a couple of reasons. One, I know that their demon is inside me and two, I'm also, you know, I'm an outsider, I'm not from there. Everybody else knows each other and are friends. I'm sort of the new guy in. So I was like guy can't be the guy coming in and then being violently competitive at a game where that does not matter But obviously, I see that popping up. What did help slash ht. Is's that I started off so poorly that very quickly I realized, okay This is if I try and keep winning It's just going to lead to more and more heartbreak And so I guess that helped, but yeah, a little bit gambellion about the rules because there are rules for a fucking reason. Yes. Well, I completely agree with you. You're going to get absolutely no pushback from me on any of that commamal. Also, may I say I really enjoyed the phrase if I'm at a party and a board game breaks out, we are going to the same sort of parties, my friend If we're somewhere someone has a table tennis table, I'm done for the night. Yeah and so taking on everyone, just really raging. Yeah. and I was I was in, you know, I was just at a friend's hotel room shooting and we were taking He had a Playsttation and we were playing NBA two K and it started off fun And then I lost in a and I kept quitting and restarting and then the whole room got very quiet for me The trash you know it's bad when the trash stocking stops. Yeah I understand that so much. Me and a few other people, including James A. Caster, Nishumar and our partners all went to do the Crystal Maze and I don't know if you're aware of the Crystal Maze I know Richard O'Brien. Yeah, so that's the classic era is Richard O'Brien, but we had Ed Tudor Pole, Richard O'wide he hosted it for a while. There's a live experience in London and Manchester O like an escape room type vibe? Yeah, but you go, there's a proper crystal Maze host and they do the Crystal Maze sort of style thing. they lead you around, you go into all the different zones, you do the games, you send in someone to the games, you get a crystals and then do the big crystal dome at the end U and it was for Charlie's birday, my wife's birthday. And there was one game where I wasn't doing very well, but also I'd noticed some of the equipment was feeling a little tired. So I did spend quite a lot of time complaining that the Velcro on the jackets wasn't holding onto the balls. Yeah, think I think that's a fair complaint. I also do feel Listen ' to win I'm there to have a good time Do I feel like I was scored unfairly in some of the tasks You know what? let's not Why did you bring that up? Let's not talk about it. Do you have any particularly that are sticking in your mind from the previous eight episodes of this series that you want to bring up now and get off your chest? Well, I think there were a few times where I felt like my friends slash competitors should have been disqualified and they were not I really f I will say that the one time I did benefit from Greg's laxeness was the task with the bowling balls where I traded some, you know him moving some skittles, helping me with some skkittles for for some time. I ended up winning that task. If I was someone else I might have been annoyed. Yeah. but I would say You know, I actually don't remember now but felt like, I don't know You know It's all in good fun It's all in good fun. I would say I think the first task was find a worm Yes. o. And you imiately immediately your patients was tested there because well yes, because If you say a mealworm is a worm, the task is not say you find a worm and declare you found the worm and have Alex stop the time. It was find a worm. So if you're saying a mealwm is a worm, which it is not, It's not a fucking worm. because you got finax the check, of course. We know it's not a worm But but my time should have stopped when I sp found the worm, not when I said I have found the worm. ye That's that's that's correct. This I understand all of this so much, Camil. Let's talk more about your general love of task muscle because you do love it and it wasn't Jason Manzuas who told you about it. We'll get that out in the open now When did you first fall in love with the show? What was the first series that you watched Well, my way in was I watched ACaster's repertoire on Netflix. And then Emily and I really you know sort of became fans of his, actually reached out to him, had never met him and were're like, Hey, we're fans, if you're, you know, ever around, let us know And we kind of started looking up other stuff we'd done and that's how we stumbled on Taskmaster. So we watched that and then we watched I think And then when I was at London shortly thereafter, I went to see James perform at Soho at the Soho Theater and I ended up sitting next to Nish That's where I became friends withness. Worst place I consider a comedy gig, isn't it? Hearing one single sentence at what st? He's laughing for us both And then and then I probably met you right afterwards. So those were the three we watched first we watch James, yours and Nishess. First, we also know Rose So there was overlap there, Ashling. So I would say right when his thing came out, which is probably twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen, somewhere around there. That's how long we've been fans, muchuch longer than Itould have been before that, I think. It might have even been like twenty fifteen or something, you know I don't think it was. Well was seventeen, maybe, maybe seventeen. I think it was seventeen or eight. you know I'm friends with the guy. I'm not a historian of his work, you know There's people will track that sort of stuff for me Google that. Did you do any homework on your fellow contestants before you flew over to take part in Tuskmaster Yeah, I think I texted you all and Yeah, of course, that was the homework You You used this as Google. you're like, Wh are these people and what do I need to know? Yeah, which usually I do that for the beginning of every season. I text you guys and I say, All right, who is it? I can guess which ones you friends with. A lot of the ones with Gambllian energy you guys end up being friends with. Yeah yeah. ye I knew Armando because I'd done an episode of Vep and I'm a huge fan of his and you know the thick of it and all that All that stuff. So New Hm alsoso was a fan of Gavin and Stacy, so knew Joanna's work, but did not know her personally I think all of us are going through something where we know Joanna from Gavin and Stacy, we have no idea of Joanna the woman until we watch Taskmaster the first time and there are so many delights to be discovered. Yes And so and then Joel, you guys said was absolutely lovely And and then Amy the same. And yeah, so that's the research I did. And I thought going in, oh, Joe. On paper, Gambalian energy. He's going to be my competition. He does not have Gambalian energy. He at all 's he's a child Yeah That's nice. So you're saying I'm not a child. My I mean And we different sorts of children, right You and I are similar sorts of children and he's a totally different sort of child. Yeah. You know, we're the sort of child that's like, Hey, I want your toy and he's the sort of child that's like, I can't spell toy. I don't know what a toy is. Oh look O look a leaf. Maybe this is a toy Yeah And that's the clip You've had so many highlights already on the series so far, Camail. Oh my God. Obviously we do need to talk about the browser history. Ah do we? Well, yeah, kind of because I of course recording. so I got watch that unfold. I got to see you afterwards, walk into the green room with your head in your hands U a big a big swing that could be could be fair to say it's a big swing. Really big swing because what happens is you've obviously been through it, you know, it's like the sixth or seventh task of the day. It's the third day in a row, of'm jet lag. Something brave. What is genuinely bravest thing I could do and that truly genuinely was the braest bravest thing I could think of. It was my computer. I did not delete my browser history. They did edit it. I remember the phrase that you thought was really funny. And the recording that's not in the video is me Googling Watch porn Watch pawn I just wanted to be clear. It's very It's almost charming because the fact that you're goo almost you're googling it's not charming because you you're a big d little boy. but just the fact you're googling it feels so old school justust being like watch porn I know. What I didn't realize would have happen. It's so general. likeike I'll take anything, whatever you got I want to watch it. The verb Subject. Yeah. you know, I decided I would do that. and then I was like, I'm not going to look at my history at all because if I decide that I'll change my mind. And I don't want to change my mind because I know this is this is a good this is a good one. If I don't get five points for this, you know And so I did not I did not look at the history until Alex sat next to me. And it is really, really It's embarrassing for many, many reasons There were some specific searches that didn' make it to the VTR that I am not I wish people didn't know about You know? Other than that I guess no regrets on that one. No. I thought Mature women shed you in a very good light. Okay, what I want to clarify is I looked for f mature women because I didn't want to bring a credit card into this. And some people thought the original caption said apparently, premature women So I have to That's what the YouTube AI said I said. So I want to clarify It is not cheap, not a criminal. Yeah. I don't think anyone would think that and no one would expect usmaster to let that through the edit. I'd imagine you' you'd be removed from the show if that happened. Also, that could mean many things. That could mean women of age who were born prematurely, which is a Yeah, yeah yeah, they're fine they're in their forties to fifties now they were preremies. They had a couple of weeks in Nku, they're fine now. Everything's fine. But there's something about that specifically that really excites you. I what Yes, I specifically want women who are of age, but were born a couple weeks early. Yeah ye. You know, there's like a real fight in them. Yeah, It was touch and Gy for a while, but they really pulled her and everything's fine. Now everything turned out exactly as their parents had imagined. so You know, I got nothing to hide That's what that says. Yeah. You know, people like things That's That's my defense. People like things. People like things. Before we talk about this episode specifically, Camelle, I also want to talk about the alphabet stairs task Okay, that's another one. Alex threw me off there That cost me a point because I got four instead of five. He was the one. I was so thrown in the studio that I didn't catch. It was him not hearing what I had said clearly That threw me off. It's undeniable. What do you have What happened? So but you ended up with one you skipped two steps, right Yeah, so I would say a word, I would take a step. I would say a word, I would take a step. and at a certain point I said a word, I took a step and he said, what was the word And I said it, I repeated it because he wanted me to because he wasn't paying attention. And then I took a step. Be you were in the rhythm. He knocked you off your rhythm. I was in the rhythm. And so for one word, my whole thing was you can't say anything else. You say a word, you take a step? You say, I was locked in, E. I was locked in. And then yeah I was in ryth them For one word, I took two steps and I got penalized for that. Yeah. He's an annoying guy. He's a really annoying guy I Yeah, he's, um Yeah, and I think in this episode it's sort of some of that comes out in this episode that we There's a I mean we'll get we'll get to the moment, but there is a moment later on where I think you completely give up trying to conceal the demon as you referred to earlier. Yeah, we can get to it. Yeah, we'll get to it, because it was wonderful and it was exactly what I was hoping you'd do Let's talk about the prize task in this series twenty one episode nine. So at this point in the studio records you're onto the last day This is the first episode in the last day. Is there a sort of party spirit in the studio Is everyone feeling friendly or is it a bit tense No, everyone's feeling friendly. I will say that from the beginning, you know, so I did my team test obviously with Amy and Joel and we immediately hit it off. And you could see from the first thing we do together when they you know, the he's so famous thingous which is now anytime anything about me gets posted anywhere, that's what shows up. And then the new thing is I don't have nipples Those are the two things. that keep popping up everywhere. So we had gotten along really, really well, even though we just spent one day together, We'd stayed in touch over text even before we went into the studio. When we went to the studio, like I said, I knew Ormando. Joanna was just like the friendliest, happiest person in the world. So I feel like we jelled immediately and there was really no There was truly no drama between us. I really, really genuinely loved u, you know, spending those time that time with them and not to bring it down, but you know, I had my my My cat had passed away two days earlier. And so I went in really grieving and bereft, feeling lonely, and those Immediately, I felt like, oh, these are all my people. You know, I just sort of felt like, oh, I would be friends with each one of them individually and in a group. And that seems to be custom now. We all have a group chap and we text all the time. I was texting with Joel yesterday There was no animosity. There was no drama. I think never I mean, I wouldd say there never is really on Task Master. There is really difficult show to do if there was animosity Yeah, yeah. I mean, I do think we could have done what slightly more like I think Joanna is stealthily competitive, so it doesn't like always come across, but I do think she wants to win. Yeah, like I think I think I would say Matthew Bayentton had that where I don't think Bayton was stealthy in any way where he was not trying to hide it. I don't think he was trying to hide it personally. He's amazing. I love the guy and he was brilliant on the show, but I don't think he was necessarily trying to hide it. But also I think my view of Matthew is tainted from playing the Taskmaster foootball game with him which All right whichich of you know. Yeah I know how competitive competitive he is, especially in football But also, playing football is pretty much the only time in my life I'm not competitive because I don't care for the game and I'm very bad at it. So I just mess around and I can watch him get really annoyed Yeah, so you could be an observer. Otherwise you're trying to beat him, but here specific situation, you're just watching his demon and your demon is asleep. My demon was so asleep. I've only played it once. I think it was the first one I arrived, I just got off a flight from Australia the day before veryery tired, never really play football in the last like fifteen, twenty years ran onto the pitch. He's the captain of the team I'm on He sees my vape fall out of my sock. Then I kicked the ball and said, that's heavier than I thought it would be. saw his shoulders drop. Let's talk about the prize task in episode nine, the thing you would most enjoy winching up from a well in a bucket again, not running out of ideas, as Alex said, you know, there's still there's still pls which were well in a bucket Yeah A very broad price task, I would say. Did you enjoy doing the price task? Did you enjoy coming with what you' going to bring in? I did, it's trickier because I was traveling from New York to London. so I wasn't in I wasn't even at home in LA. so sourcing a lot of the stuff was complicated. Obviously they helped me out. You know, the um flabbergasted Philip, for instance.. we had to basically buy a new one in London and they they helped me do that. So I love coming up with the price test. The problem is, you know, with the price tests is you have a lot of time to overthink And I can sort of get stuck in that for sure. Yeah. When you're there doing the tasks, it's so much about forward momentum. There were only a couple times where I felt like while I was doing the task that I was spinning my wheels, I felt like I had good like you know, sort of keep it moving kind of energy U Getting the ball in the cup was one of the ones where I felt like I got really stuck and I didn't know how to get out of it And so I left coming up with a prize test. Some of them came to me very quickly. Some of them took more work And um You know, it's just I sort of decided I would do two a week Since I got things U reallyally left coming up with them, but yeah, sometimes I would overthink Well, this one, you didn't have any problems sourcing because you brought in the trophy, the Taskmaster trophy. is right Oh, I got it right. I thought I was going to point the wrong way Yeah, right there, that very Taskmaster trophy And you read out a text from me saying it's my greatest love equal to my wife Ver glad I put that caveat in because I knew you'd read it on television. In reality My wife is second I think we all know that But I'm glad on television, it's my wife is equal. Yes. I mean, you did lose this episode Let's not beat around the bush, but you managed to get the trophy back to me, which I'm very grateful for. How did I get to? I came in third, right? I believe? Yeah, you didn't you certainly didn't win. let me No because I think I got one point on the prize task Yes, unfortunately, it was it was one point for you in the preious task Yeah, I was surprised. is what you said was because I said to you, if you lose it, I'll never talk to you again And you said, so for you, whether you win or lose, it's a win win That's correct. Yes. So I would say one point is all you deserve. I don't know. What else did people have? Well, I'm going go through them for you right now. We're gonna talk about them. Armando brought in the head of a water company with a turd in his mouth. That have to be very solid. Very Armando. Very Armando. Sharp, satirical. Sharp satirical, but very silly It utilizes the word td, which is fantastic word says it? And the representation of it the sort of paper mache man was brilliant, I thought. Very good, very good. Re strong from Armando I'd say less look and I'm friends with Joel. so I feel like I can say this to Joel. I think he's been fantastic on this series. He's been charming, he's been funny, sometimes he's been brilliant the tasks Joel brought in a note from someone saying I'm stuck down here. no need for help though. I'm having a well good time, which I agree with Greg's reaction. that was dreadful But he still got more points than I did Yes he did Okay. And how do you feel about that, Gamel? How do you think I feel about it? He wrote something on a note with let's face it, a terrible pine.er Wh whichich Greg famously hates. Yeah. Okay. whereere do you get two? Two points, yeah. Dou. Double what you got if you wantan to think about it like that. No, I'm good atat. Thank you Joel loves puns, of course. Have you heard about Joel's Skincare compompany Okay, right, you'll love this. Joel is genuinely he's starting a skincare company for men with a television presenter here called Ben Shepherd, who's like a legendary television presenter. He's been on television for probably the last twenty years, twenty five years. They came up with a name for the skincare company It's called forkin Foreskin. Foreskin Okay Honestly pretty good. Yeah, he's texted me asking me if he was okay to send me some samples of foreskin. Is it real? It's real. He's actually doing this. Yeah, it's a genuine company. Him and Ben Seard did a podcast where they talked about launching the company and they're about to launch it and he's sending me some samples of foreskin. What kind of products does Fororest can make? Moisturizer, cleanser. It's like, you know, men's face products Okay.. All right. well he better send me some. Yeah. I wonder if it be if it'd be as big in America because there's sort less that knocking around, isn't there Foreskin? Yeah. Yeah, but we know what it is. We're aware of it. We're not tossing out everything that's called foreskin Just But if they want pun? Would everyone in America get the pun? Yes. We know what foreskin is We are more aware of it than you because we had to get rid of it. We had like a whole ceremony for it. Hey, brother, I don't speak for all British b. I don't have. You guys have more forekin over there? Is that? Yeah B big time. Yeah, yeah What wait, but it's not isn't it a religious thing? Yeah, but It's a religious thing, but also I'd say like There's just know what I'med to ask. Less specific religious people kicking around. I mean, I don't have one Okay, all right, that was the question But that wasn't u That was medical and I was in my twenties, cheers follow up questions. Absolutely fine. I've talked about it on many podcasts before. Speaking of which, Joanna brought in eleven Curly Wirlys Yes Yes. she I do like Cly Wirlies And you have Cly Wirlies in America? and that is no I'm not talking about big old foreskins. No, we don't. No We dont have any we don't have any kind of curly worirlies. We don't have fore skin curly worirlies or chocolate curly worirlies. I do know them because I love British chocolate. and whenever I'm there, you know I get a whole thing of them. Actually when James visited me, well, he wasn't visiting me. He was here, but he brought me up a huge bag of them Um That story was also much longer from what I remember in studio They've really like cut down obviously all of her stories. Yeah,s there's a moment when she finishes this story as you're watching it where if you look at Amy's face, she looks absolutely exhausted Like she's the lastest who haveve heard the story, but she's just like, she just shakes her head just like We're got get another one guys, the n the ninth twenty five minute prize t. Be Jovannna was doing that every week right. She was just She always had so much to say every price task was a long story. My favorite was the one like I I fell in love with Sherry when I was seven years old And I believe one of them starts twenty five years ago. Oh my God Does she know what she's doing But also you're the one who's asking more questions as well. I know. I loved it. I loved her stories. I loved asking the follow ups because it was it would annoy Greg. Yeah. And really I was mostly there to annoy Greg and Little Alex Horn U And so I would ask follow ups and she had very good responses to all of them. Obviously a lot of that got cut out, but some of it's in the extra, you know, the extra footage thing I do think and I'm making this call to the producers now, I do think we should release all the uncut Joanna Page prized her submissions in one video on YouTube Yeah, I don't know if they allow videos that long Sometimes they do,'s like almost ASMR. it's like, what, it's theosite of ASMR, isn't it? That the sort of video you could fall asleep to just Yeah they're really long ones. ye. Eleven Curly Wirlies, th that's quite that's an addiction, isn't it? When you get to eleven curly Wirlies in the car every day. She didn't want to say that she would get to a dozen. you think that why was eleven the cut offff? I don't know A dozen is unreasonable. eleven. Yeah, eleven' fine. But ten's not enough. Remember that. You can't you can't just have ten curly worirlies. Well, ten just feels like a round number like you wanted to get to ten and quit. I get that. G getet past ten. I get it You know, ten feels like plan eleven feels like it came from the soul. Yeah. yeah. and twelve is I guess the jor just sort of wears out at twelve I think you Yeah, I guess. and after tw and then you can't stay on twelve because that's then a dozen that sounds weird thirteen is a baker doesn't get to get into fourteen And then that fourteen' too many curly whirlly. So honestly eleven is just the right number, Joe. pererfect. Yeah. And she just likek the chewing. It feels like she could have just had some gum. At this point if you want I don't like curly worirlies. I don't think they're a good chocolate bar You don't I don't. I think they you like you like them No, I don't really like them. I'm going I don't like them. They're too chewy. they're difficult. I like You like other British chocolate. Yes, yes, yes. I love like, you know, Wispa Galaxy Um Minstrels, which I don't think you could call something a minstrel here. Do you know the difference Do you know what a minstrel is? Yeah I don't w And you know what? in the UK, we love old school entertainment and I don't think I know if that's a crime comeill. Cuff us I Yeah, I think Greg was amazed by the eleven Cly Wories. What I will say for Greg is he told me that during lockdown one he ate ninety miles bs Wow. wait So how many is that per day So it was probably about three months. so it was one a day att least one a day, maybe I think he said Maybe it was two months. S some days he did like six miles bars and couldn't see and some days he would do none Okay. Yeah. I don't like I don't like Mars Bars either a lot of I like arrow I like flake I like well, you know, Tdodleron, everyone likes Todleron. That's basic. what are the ones? Oh go. I'm hungry right now Right, let's move off the chocolate before you say. And then Amy's, I thought was very clever because it's a non Newtonian substance. Yes, the custard.. The custard. ye. The custard. So think Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I thought that that was I thought that was really good. I thought she deserved the five points there for sure. But Greg didn't believe it. and I thought everyone knew this about custards being When you put impact on it, it becomes a solid noobody knew it in that studio I bet some people knew it because as soon as Amy said custard is a non Ntonian liquid, my first thought was, and I'm looking forward to explaining this man to you John Tickle. What John Tickle John Tickle was a contestant on Big Brother series Seven in the UK. He was an extremely boring man But everyone loved him because of that. He was so boring. In fact, he got voted out of the house very early on But then the public voted him back in because he was so boring and then he was pretty much the only one from that series to then go on and have a career outside it. And he was a correspondent on a science show called Brainiac. and in one episode of Brainiac, he proved that cussard is a non Ntonian liquid when Richard Hammond filled a paddling pool full of custard and John Tickle walked across it Is John Tople still at it? No, not really. I don't see much of John Tickle anymore Okay, Sadly And I think it might be Big Brother series five How old was he when he did Big Brother and what was his profession Late twenties late twenties young, I'd say, Yeah, young. They were all pretty young in that era of Big Brother. I can't remember what his profession was. It was probably something quite boring I'm going to look on. Yeah, look up John Tickle. And look if you search John Tickle custard You'll definitely get the Brainiac video. So that's why people know. there he is British television present There he is John Kickle, He has an identical twin brother. Yeah, he does. Yeah, yeah I remember that from a big brother. Walks oncustard there is Wow Cott walk on water because like all humans, he's too bigick and heavy Oh wow. Okaykay. All humans. Okay, great. That' be little training for you. After we finished recording, you can watch John Tele walking on custard. He was on QI too. Okay. There you go. So I did not know that. I bet that's how Amy knows. How she so smart? She said she saw a TikTok, whereereas I saw a tickle Tok. Okay ask one Was this whole thing set up for that? No, genuinely genuinely not Is that why you brought up John Tickle? so you could do your little tickle Tackle joke? Is that what it was? Tickle Tacle would have been a better joke. Yeah, I putunched it up for you. You can go back and edit it. This is why the American systemy of writers rooms works. Camlee you got one point, Joel got two points, Joanna got three points, Amando got four points and Amy got the five points After having my third child O the morning I would drop one child to school, one child to the nursery, and then one child would fall asleep in the back of the car. I would drive straight to the local garage and I would buy an iced caramel latte, a magazine, and one curly wooly. And I would sit in the car and I'd be like, o my God, it's my time just to have a rest. I loved like the chewiness of them, right? So I soon went to three curdly woollies, but then I was like it just wasn't enough because I was like, o my God, I need the chewing, I need the chewing.Qite soon I went to eight curly woollies, then I was like, if you're gonna to do eight, you may as well do ten. thenen it still wasn't enough and I went sold it get eleven. eleven curly Woollies every single day. You imagine that all clumped together? That's like a size of a bowl book like After eight, after eight, I was just Don't bring after eights into Task one, work out what powers the bulb in the lab. You may only give one answer and you may only enter the lab once. Fastest correct answer wins, your time starts now This one is the one that's frustrated me the most because I came up with a system Yes that is scientific repeatable. would work one hundred percent of the time. And I was beaten by two people who tied things to long sticks and Joanna who' just like, o Here's a word I know. and they all beat me, att least Armando had the decency to just read, you know, the first sentence of the task and wander in and disqualify himself. I was very upset at that one. You did beat actually you beat Amy, to be fair. Okay, I cannot believe that Joanna just said it's sunny it' solar after Alex. F times it said, No, there' battery. She's like, there's not enough wind for turbine. He's like, Well, no, it it's powered We have a battery. And she still was like, it's sunny, it's solar. That really, really, really, really bugged me. I'd imagine it did. I was sat there. I was bugged for you, but obviously knowing how bugged you were, I found it very funny Is that one where I really was quite upset after the results? I can't remember which one it was. It was U No, it wasn't. It was There's more. there's more. I think it was it was it was later on. But but can I get pros for how good my system is?obbodyse I've written down. I've written down how good your system was Great lateral thinking I've written. veryer impressive But it turns out to be one of those tasks and you never know what those tasks are going to be. It turned out to be one of those tasks where you just had to do it Like there's no point having the taking that time to think having that lateral system and it was a great system and no one else thought of it. I didn't think of it when it popped up And it was brilliant watching you come up with it. you're so happy. Yeah, but I could That system would work one hundred percent of the time. It's always gonna to work Joanna just said solar. And you know what? if the task was ten times in a row work out which switch pows the ball.'t I don't need this attitude. You would have won. I don't need this. But this is what I'm saying, you know repeatability doesn't matter when you know, you've got Joanna's pure vibe energy. She's just vibing off everything. Yeah, she was really on fire the whole season. she wise. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's a lot of vibes that yeah. really worked out Yeah But I loved it, I loved you coming up with it. I loved it worked. Don't try and make me feel good about it now after you've already. You told me I should just compliment I was gonna compliment you. It good It's a good system. It's a good system. I would say You slightly lucked out in the What the one the system, we don't actually know the system works It does work. It would work explain to you. No, I've heard you say the system if the bulbs work. Honestly, it would have been better. It sucks that it was solar because when it went in it was on. It would have been way more impressive if it wasn't Yeah But it would work one hundred percent at the time. If the bulb is warm and off, it's the one that was turned on and off. If the bulb is on, it's the one that's on, if it's cold enough, then it's the third one. No, I do understand, but I think you got really lucky with the fact No, it's not luck It was the easiest one because you don't know how much that bulb warms up, do you So nice you It was it was The bulbs bulbs warm up, Ed. That's what bulbs do. We're not all bulbs That one did. Okay Yeah What I really liked as well is because even though you knew which switch it was because you went and it was on, you still checked the bulb for warmth because you were like the system works. I did need to check if the system works. I was so cocky. I think I came in fourth or third No, you came insred, you came insred, but it was a good joke whereere Greg son Joeles beat you Right, That was tough because he said to Joanna just beat me at this task And Alex said Jel did it E Joel did it faster than you. Oh my God. Yeah. so that was the one that's most frustrating for me when I think back on it And so Joel gets the mirror and puts it on a big stick like he's either a tiny dentist or checking for a bomb under a car. he sees the bulbs on, which is a good idea, but I think really decides to rile you up by saying he came up with the idea when he was checking his hair in the bathroom mirror Yeah, ye. Yeah, it really, really upset me. That whole thing did. I cannot believe. Let's do that task again and we all have to stick to our methods. We'll see who wins I think, you know I think you're right. I think time after time, I think your method would prove to be the best Yes, it will. I mean, it's if the bb warms up It does. So that's it it hangs on the bulb warming up Cail. So there is no way the bulb doesn't warm up. Can we can you text Analyics and see if the bulb warms up Should I just st is' that? Just ask him The producer of the podcast just messaged sereries four, Big Brother, sorry Y Mr Txt Alex saying Does the bulb warm up? Just do that. Yeah Just do that Let's see what happens doeses the bulb warm up he won't know what it means. They're filming sereries twenty two. There we go. Right, text, let's see if he gets back to me during this episode. Yes. Joel goes with the mirror method. Amy eventually goes with the phone, the video on the phone And that's a very exciting moment, I thought, when she's going back through the video and just catches the frame of a ball being on Yeah, I thought that was good Yeah. Did you think that was good Cail or are you struggling to compliment other people because you're upset? In this specific one, I amm struggling to compliment other people because I think their ideas are stupid. That's the only reason. Jianna went in without turning it on either. and she just said solar Joanna went in hadn't turned it on as Armando did. obbviously said the bulbs off because she didn't turn any switches on And then just guess is solar because it's sunny, which I guess makes sense as an idea. No, it does not make sense. There are batteries there. Alex head had clarified that it has nothing to do with the conditions of the day But the wind, I think takes longer maybe or doesn't app No, but he's been it's this bath This battery. It's been going for a while. Yeah. It's stored up But I think it's more sunny than it was windter. It' It's got nothing to do with the conditions of the day. Yeah But if it wasn't sunny, the bulb wouldn't work. right If the battery had stored it, the bulb would have worked. Yeah. But it was very sunny. So she gets it really quickly Six minutes forty six seconds. How long did I take? You were seven minutes forty. So the problem was I wanted to leave the bulb on. Yeah, I understand. again. You very good at math U I wanted to leave the bulb on long enough that it would definitely warm up. Yeah. That's why it took so long. But in the end, that didn't matter, didid it 'use it was on? the one you picked was on Yeah, I know what you're doing and I'm not going to fall for it anymore. think you've already fallen for it multiple times. Yeah, multiple times. ye But no more, right? But I'm aware of it. Yeah just want you to know. It is working, but I'm also I know what you're doing. Okaykay. I understand what you're doing. Yeah. Okay. Well, luckily Armando He, u He just couldn't be bothered really. And I don't mind it when Armando can't be bothered. He's one of the people that he's thrown himself into a lot of things in this show. Yeah, he's incredible. I mean, you know what one of the great joys of it is I you know, I was quite intimidated by Armando. When I first met him, he's always been very lovely. I did like an episode of Vep the year before I did Silicon Valley, smallmall part. He was lovely, but you know, he's legit comomedy Legend genius Yeah. And I think one of the joys of Taskmaster people are discovering is what a goofy silly guy he is. Totally, tootally. And this was great because You could tell he was just done with it. he walked in, hadn't turned on any of the switches Did't know what it was. just walked out and went dynamag. That's right. I think it's dynamo I wish I wish Johanna said Donamo Professor Sleepy gets no points because he walks into the room twice in the end. He breaks the rules, just keeps walking in Amy gets two points, you get three points per mle, even though very good system and if it was very good system would work few bonus points for the good system. one hundred percent of the time at my system would work We don't know that, but Joel gets four points, Joanna gets five points for her. You know what? Deduction that it was suing. Do bulbs warm up? Let me just see. I bet there's like types Yeah Light bulbs get physically hot There we go. Lightbes really do get hot It says It says to use a chemical reaction And they they all do, even thuacid bulbs, they just take a little bit longer Was that a fluorescent bulb No It was a coil, old school, Eedison shit huge Joanna displays the confidence and authority that belies her actual ability. I didn't and I still don't understand any of that. I know. And I think I thought that you just that you can't do that more than once. I didn't understand it. Joanna is winning the series. There Did she beat me on this test? I'm gonna tell you this. Camelle. You weren't even quicker than Joel Wow! A you fucy kidding me? I thought of my idea when I went into the toilet to fix my hair in the mirror Let's talk about task two Leave the most pink balls on the other side of the court at the end of the task.uriating. You may balls with rackets. You will lose one pink ball for every blue ball left on your side of the court at the end of the task. Alex must freeze for thirty seconds every time you strike the gong with a ball. You have five minutes, your time starts on the whistle So Kamal, this is the one where you should have had a system. Yes, I'm very, I mean, Armando had a great system. Do you know that Alex plays tennis No, it wasn't something I was aware of, but what I would say was I was surprised by quite how quick. Alex was across the court, quQuite how competitive he was in this.'s really good. Yeah.s the way he was picking up the balls with the rackets, I was like, o he he's done this a lot. He knows what I asked him. He said he does play tennis. This was an infuriating task for everyone except Armando who came up with a great solution and he really did. I mean this looked infuriating think The fact that Armando is very calm and doesn't he's not competitive He doesn't rush into things and be like, I've got to win this. So he just took his time. he came up with an idea and he dealt with it in a very in a very calm fashion to take to go over to the other side of the court to Gong Alex every every thirty seconds with the ball genius It was an absolute it was a genius. It was a really, really and I had not thought of it. The only other The task that I can think of where I was annoyed that I did not think of it was the task with the looking away with the nails and nappies That one, I was like, oh, if I had my wits about me, I should have figured that out. Yeah. Same with this one. I was like, o, Armando came up with a fantastic system Almost as good as my boat warming system Um It just wouldn't work one hundred percent of the time because it's based on some skill whereas mind was purely intellectual It would work a hundred percent of the time Mermandos, wouldn't it No not if you missed the ball. You'd have to have a pretty severe lack of skill to knock start next. Mind requires zero skill, depending on the b O a light bulb Gotta get off this depending on the light bulb shit I know what you're doing and. I'm not falling for it any. No, you're not. If I am Wh would you I'm aware of it This I think I think I would have done a similar thing though. I would have rushed into this because yeah I have got to go. You've just got to go go go, right? You just got to go and I did not realize how good, you know, I was like, well, I'm in I'm in decent shape I felt like I had a shot at this. I don't really play tennis or anything, but I felt like but soon as it started, it became very obvious that Alex is much, much, much better at this than I am at tennis and whatever this task is And then it just became me banging my head against the wall. I just wanted to A few times I just wanted to hit him with the ball. Yeah. I think I did on one occasion. I think I did. I might have done it more on the day that they took out because it was cruel. But um Yeah, this one was a really, really, really diffult it was a hot day. You could see all of us were really struggling on this one except for ourmando, obviously Yeah, it was a tough task. It looked very frustrating because Alex is constantly hitting Your balls back so easy. taking the blue balls back My only thought was, Wh donon't hit the blue Blls back to him. Because then he's got blue bulls, right? Sweep them off the court. so they're not in your side of the cour. Oh, I did start actually doing that. Yeah, I think that would have been my only thought during it. I did actually start doing that at a certain point. I just started hitting them off the court. What was the So Armando got five there for sure. Oh, yeah, I mean, his was absolutely incredibleiously Joel didn't think about it to the extent he picked all the balls up with his hands evenven though you weren't allowed to touch the balls with anything other than the racket and he was eating cooking apples off the tree So he was so distracted by these cooking apples This is the man I tied with this episode U No you type of Joanna actually. Oh. He won No Amando one. Joel beat you though J. This is the man who beat me was the man who disregarded the rules and was distracted by tart little apples. Yeah G exactly. Yeah, yeah. Joanna dumped her whole bucket on Alex's side And then Which is smart. She's really smart, but if you do it too early, I guess. Right. She did it too early, Great idea, did it too early. Alex is a little bitch and was just hit them all back She also hit the gong and said, Woof, which was a lovely moment. Yes. My only consolation prize would have been if Alex had, you know gotten his foot caught on the net and fallen on his face, but he didn't do that. Was that why you were asking him to jump over the net? Of course. Yeah, I didn't want to see him do a cool thing. want him fall on his face But he did it. Now you look really cool at the end and he'd really beat you Yeah, you got minus four in the end. Not bad Not bad. it turns out in the scheme of this game, which is very hard minus four is a good score didid they come in second Yes, you did. You came in second with minus four, but Amanda got plus fifty U Joel of course. Dill five point. stillill want just one point more than me. Yeah, just one point for fifty points. got and he got fifty four points more than you in the game, but only one point more doesn't matter one more point. Yeah. it doesn't matter in the end Joel, of course, we've talked about Joel keeps touching the balls with his hands. He got zero No. So how do you feel about this Joel did not get disqualified from this task. he got The points he would have got had he not touch the balls with his hands, which is two points. He got one point more than an Ay because Greg went, well, he's not going to win the series anyway, just give him the points. Well There was another time earlier when he wasn't that one where we had to like repeat something. where I had to say my own name earlier episode two or three whenever that was Yeah where I felt like what when I got upset about the rules, do you remember this? When when you had to find the Red Site and you there were three tasks that are in different orders about That one. That's the one. That's the one. I felt like Joel should have been disqualified. Yeah. and he did not get disqualified. and I believe You know It cost me a point or two, something like that Yes. I mean, I was obviously with you. So that's another one I was obviously with you all the way on that one Camle, but You know I could see the vibe in the studio was not right for that. I could tell that Greg wasn't going to go along with you No, he wasn't he wasn't U Amy, I mean this is not a good task for Amy. She picks up the bucket, sweeps them all under the net And then at one point, Alex is coming towards her with loads of balls on his racket and she just proper swipes at him and tells him to piss off. You could you could tell she was not enjoying this in this light. This was a tough task for her Yeah This was a tough. It also came in the middle of a day. It was hot. you know this is the same day that we're doing. So now. at that palace. What was that palace that we were Hampton Court So that's the same day we obviously had done the T shirt shooting, we had done the steps, we had done what else had we done there? There was one task that only Joanna and I did that they did not have the others do which really upset me because I really, really, really hated doing it. And when I was in the studio, I was like, I cannot wait to see this because it was absolutely miserable And it was really far away from you, there was a chessboard with different faces on it and you had to sort of try and recre draw what was on the chessboard from really far away. and you could take penalties and get closer and each step There were like different penalties so you could like you'd have to like takeake a bite of um of sorbet And it was just cut up onions. and then you could drink water and that was just like onion water and it was genuinely, really, really, genuinely miserable. And I made I made him do it. And I think it was so unpleasant for him that he didn't have other people do it So you made you made Alex do it or I made Alex. I said you're making us eat this. I want haveave you tried it? He said No. I said I said, try it. I want you to know what you're putting us through. And he ate it. and he was like, that's very unpleasant. Th then he didn't have other people do it. I think only Joanna and I ended up doing it. becausea I asked people in the studio. I said, what about the onion eating task If We also did, that's where we did the custard and mustard thing, which is also infuriating because he handed a bunch of extra points to Joanna there. Yeah I love that you've just got an absolute shit list of tasks that you're still angry about. This is perfect And even ones we haven't seen ones we haven't even seen you're angry about. No, I was really upset about that one specifically because it was so miserable and I kind of imagine I did well on it. I have nothing to compare it to because he decided not to have the other people do it That sounds like a fun task though. I bet Janna would have beaten you though, even though you had a system What is DM? what are you basing that on Just her randomly drawing twenty faces and just getting it right the way he just was like, here's the word I've heard before. Even though you're feeling the onions and going, o, they're warm This was a very fun task to watch. I enjoyed watching this game the tennis game, but I can imagine playing against Alex would have been very frustrating, mainly because I wasn't expecting him to try so hard I thought I thought he'd just sort of mess around a little bit. The only time he sort of He stopped being the co host then He just went he went he was playing the game He wanted to win. he's surprisingly athletic, isn't he? Like hes probably when he plays that football game that you that I bet he's pretty good, isn't he He's rangey Alex as well. He's got, you know, he's got a good stride to him for someone somebody who's four foot six He's got a good old stride. But no fun game to watch, frustrightating game to play by the sounds of it. Armando, five points classic Taskmaster thinking outside the box Camlee, you get four points. Joanna, three points. Joel two points Amy one point. The reason I got four points is because at some point I decided to knock the blue balls off the court. evenven it wasn't in the VT, but I remember thinking that and I think that's probably why I didn't do as orly as some of the other ones, but I'm happy to get four for that one. Smile. Hry, Professor Sleepy. doctor Gong is in the house. A spectum. Yeah. And frustrating from my point of. You didn't see that coming, but I didn't say you stay in your half? No, where you didid. I have to say it was the most fun I had. all serious. Just doing it to you. Did you know that that was the solution to it or did he surprise you? surp There's never one solution. There's always. I know, don't give me the whole thing Fand Yeah Task three, catch a flip flop fl from the flip flop flinger with one foot. You may not use your hands, your flive attempts. If you fail you must do a flip flop forfeit. Your time starts now. and of course, we then see one month earlier, you all had to write down a forfeit for a contestant who does not complete the flip flop task. The forfeit that pleases the task Master most wins, you have five minutes, your time starts now How did we feel about this one Camale I still have zero memory of writing anything on of that blog. I Do not remember. When they showed it to me, I thought it was AI. I was like, I don't know what's going on I truly genuinely still I remember, you know, those days are I was jet like, but those days are all mix into each other. I remember Most of it, I remember doing almost everything I did. Bye I have zero memory of wriding anything on a flip flop I mean, it feels like you did do it Do you admit that you did it having now seen it Or do you think it could it could be I'm not denying I did it I'm not yes, I obviously did it. I have zero memory of doing it. Yeah. I do not remember doing it at all. But I bet they made you. I mean Does it match up datewise? With that being on like your first day doing tasks? It might have even been the first thing that you did It might have been, I truly genuinely Well, the first task we did, I remember was the interview, you know? which is for where we were he was texting me the whole time. Oh really? That you did the interview first That was the very first thing we did. Oh, wild, okay Yeah, that was the very first thing we did. U It's like a warm up thing they called it. Loly group of people who put that show together, huh? It's like a very small group of people and now I recognize them from other seriesies. Yeah. Yeah. So I have no idea. I do not remember doing that. Oviously ' the best part of this one is Joel Oh my God. O goal so, so very good Absolutely amazing toastalone goiral. haaving to listen to his own voice, which he clearly finds agonizing with it and because when he when he recorded whatever someone was going to have to listen to, he made it extra annoying clearly because he thought it was funny Yes and then he had to listen to it in no pants in no pants. I mean, just what an image. I think that will be the image that sticks with Joel the most. him fetal position on the floor no pants having to listen to his own voice, constantly go It's der. For some reason the moment where he gets up and like pullses undernderwear down a little bit I found to be so Hilariousy pathetic. Yeah like a little boy making sure nothing gets out. It's so sad because it's like he's done, he gets up and he pulls his pants down a little bit Really, really, really very good. There's one again because when you hear it through the headphones, there's one because he's clearly like whenever he recorded that for someone to listen to for the ffeit and they just looped it He was just making stuff up to say. and I don't know why he said this. You can hear him go, Peace and love to y'all What is that something you said something? mas so neverever heard Joel Domit say peace and love to you' all before U But very funny. I hope he says it more, but he looks like he wants to die during that Yeah, and I got fucked on that one because I was like planking physical. Oh, I have to show that I can do this for a very long time and then ended up having to pay a lot of money Yes, but Let's be hest Camillle, you've got phys fitness and you've got a lot of money. So this was absolutely no problem. And I think people brushed over the two mininute forty seven plank. I think you should have got more of a slap on the back for that Pretty impressive. That's pretty impressive a two minute forty seven plank. Yeah. You gotta be happy with that I was okay with it. Yeah, I was okay with it. But the money thing really threw me for a loop after. Well done, Amy. Yeah, that was a good fororefeit from Amyy. Your forefeit for Joanna was say I apologise for all the diarrhea in three different non English languages while putting on seven jackets You know what? I changed my mind That was AI. I didn't do that or jet lag. That could have been jet lag Yeahes,, I genuinely have no memory of it. Yeah But it is not Is that the sort of thing that you would suggest for a forfeit Hut. at the time? Is that what you do now or were you in some sort of weird state I would probably have them do something very physical I think that's the move. somethingomething like physically challenging rather than something that's U you know, just like memorizing sounds. But also, you know, you didn't know you were giving it to Joanna, you didn't know what Joanna was like. You didn't know she was such a student of so many European languages and could conjure phrases such as do Ppu Ljuce The poop with juice. Yeah, pooular juice, poop with the juice. Yeah, it's well done I have to think the French have a word that means diarrhea that's not poop with the juice I' Cita Yeah, they have to have a term. I mean, just before I Google it, we've I am I've got a text backack from Alex I said, does the bulb warm up? And he said, ye, man, and then sent me a picture of a bulb. So there you go, my sib is one hundred percent. Do I know that he knew what I was talking about? Absolutely not. I'm going to Google French for diarrhea And this is good because you're filming in France, right? What if it says poop with the juice? Yes, it's gonna be very helpful for me Yeah It's really going to come in handy Well, I don't know what the the new storylines are on the white Lus on the new season. I mean they're really pushing the envelope this time. I have a whole poop of the juice arc U Dar Darie Okay D. Okay. It's a bit like diary really, isn't it? It' Yeah. honestly, my diary is basically a lot of diarrhea Yes, Daren, it's not poopoo A it Le Juice, but I thought that was a good guess from Joanna. No, well done well done, Joanna. Yeah, greatreat vibes from her throughout. another great vibe. Armando for Amy, of course, the forfeit is cook an egg backwards, starting with a cooked poached egg and ending with an egg back in a shell, hopping all times Gfulfit Very well done by Amy, even ending by going, oh, I'm hungry. L she added very good story, which I thought strrong ending very strong ending. ye Joanna Frermmando, she didn't get scored well for this and I think this is fair is just being slapped once with the flip flop in any strength or manner that you so desire And Alex just sort of tappped him on the flank. Yeah Pretty easy Pretty easy. Did she You should get one point on this one She got one point, donon't worry. She got one point. I got two. You got two, unfortunately for the I apologize I accepted. I accept that. Who won this one? Was it Joel? Well Joel, of course, Joel did his own listened to his own voice for a full hour And it serves him right because that's a really horrible thing to try and do to someone else for take an hour of their day as well It's really, yes, it's really perfect What would you have done if you'd had to do forfeit the joel set Great time You know that now, now that you know Joel, but you've not met him at the time. It mightad opin. I would be like I hope he's not in a team task with me. Yeah And then you arrive and he's bouncing around going, It famous. I love him. He so He's such he's great. He's the best. And you know what? and I'm sure crew is great. Yeah. Everyone's amazing. I'm sure if you asked Joel nicely, he would put some international shipping packages together and send you a sample of foreskin I genuinely I'm going to Is is it FO R S K IN? I'm going to tell Yeah foresin, fore skin. Yeah. Careful how you Google it. We know what your history look like anyway. I have texted him. Great. I'm sure he's busy. He has a new baby He does. But you know you messaged me earlier about fullkin Live task Dag on to the point Joanna gets one point, you get two points Camille, three points for Armando, four points for Amy and five points for Joel Dumit. . Why did you still have no trousers on? S make the whole thing worse. Listening to yourself without any pence, You're ready for Hollywood, my man live task, put the correct sock on an appendage and poke it out of the correct hole first. The fastest each time goes through to the next round and one person is eliminated each round. last player standing wins veryery near to a full five points foriew here Camo I loved doing this task. I thought this was a very clever task. I loved the visual of everybody's faces and hands and all that. And I thought it was genuinely, genuinely thrilling. I thought it was a good mix of like brainy and physical. It sort of was everything that you want a life task to be.. I thought I'd come up with a pretty good system. Alex mentions it. I had a holster. I've sort of fashioned a holster and put you know, one of each kind of sock around me, except I needed two identical socks at the end. I also did not understand what he meant by jazz hands. Also It's not in the thing, but at one point, Greg was like, oh, this one's not going to be U this one's going to be unfair to Camal when he said traffic light. And I was like do have traffic les in America And the colors mean the same thing, right Yes, the colors, I think it's pretty standard. Yeah. Red, yellow, green. Yes. And you'd hope it was standard. because I've driven in America And I'm fairly sure I got it right Yeah, you got it right You got it right. I loved, I loved, I loved this task. It was really, really fun to do. You know, I really enjoyed all the live tasks. This one, I would say was one of my favorites. Obviously the ring and the hook one, I really, really enjoyed because I did very well on that one Even though we didn't do well on the one with the broom and the making sounds we lost, I thought that that was a very clever one. That's a fun one.. Yeah. u I like tossing the bag on the rotating faces. There bunch of You got Armando every single time, almost. It really I felt really bad. He's such a sweet man. No, this was a really fun one. I think I would have got really nervous doing this one. It was really, really nerve wracking. It was really thrilling because you don't see what the other people are doing and nobody can see what you're doing. So when you're in there, you have no sense of what the standard is, you know, how fast are other people going? And it's very easy to get frazzled. And it took me a couple seconds to understand what jazz hands meant in that And again, that's not a cultural thing. Jazz was invented in America. I have no excuse Um It just took me a second to figure out what he meant by that and that was enough to, you know, give Armando the edge And I think we hadn't used the side holes yet whichich is also very clever. So All props to Armando for being sharp and on it. and I just You know, that was a really exciting one Do you think you underestimated Armando in this task No, because he's He's a very, very clever man He is, but also he's not we' seen he doesn't necessarily sometimes if he's not engaged in the task. He won't throw full energy into it. so It's hard to know. It's hard to know which armando you're going to get. I felt like his strongest wine out of the entire series was make called a sock standout. I thought that was pretty goddamn brilliant. look I went above the tennis one, even I went after that on the podcast commail I said it was camera trickery and I didn't agree with it. He didn't actually make the sock stand up. He just filmed it from above And people came for me, all right The the internet did not enjoy this. I got many messages being like, no, it was good, so shut up. It was good. I also heard you said some shit about my made time go backwards task Yeah, I didn't understand. I didn't understand Well, what I'm doing is I should not be I'm making time go backwards. But I'm moving forward in time So I'm speaking forwards. But Everything else around me is going backwards. If voice was reversed, wasn't? Nobody I was speaking forward I was saying I made time move backwards But but what did you do to your voice in the edit? What happened in the edit with your voice I you backward. You spoke backwards and then they put you forwards, but everything else was happening backwards Yeah, because it was upside down. Listen, just because I can't explain it in this moment doesn't mean it wasn't brilliant. But I can actually explain it. Yeah. Hh we go. Yeah Hi moved everything upside down. becausecause the whole point was to get the sand to go up in the hourcass and down, right? So I am making time move backwards, by' making the sand go up, right So I do it upside down And then I'm speaking Back backackwards and then making it go forwards because of fun. But it sounded Like you were going forward What elser spoken backwards and then they put it forwards. That's correct So was it was that part of it? or was that just for fun It was part of it. It was part of it. Yeah. It sounds like you just said it was for fun. I think I think fun and part of it are not mutually exclusive. Yeah, what do you think I did, Ed? Well, I think you just got a bit giddy and you've rew watchatched Twin Pigs recently U no. It was very hard to learn how to do that. Yeah. I lookook, I loved it Okay, great. But I just don't I don't necessarily always agree with camera trickery or reversing things. Okay, so you have like a thing about that. Yeah. And I know most people aren't bothered about it. It all goes back to the Noel Fielding series where they had to camouflage themselves And u and noel got the team to shrink him down in the edit into the size of a banana and put himself in the banana bowl. And yes, that was funny andes he's brilliant. and I know I shouldn't be annoyed about it because it' an entertainment television show, but I don't feel like that was in the spirit of the task, Camle Okay, you know what I understand what you're saying and as long as you're consistent about it I'll let you have it. Yeah. I still don't understand what you did, but it looked funny. And you're a good man. U Aby's out first, Joanna's out second, Joel's out third. Camal sadly just at the last second. you are picked to the post by Armando Inucci, meananing five points for Armando four points for you Camal three points for Joel two points for Joanna, one point for Amy. And at the end of the episode, Amy proves that custard is indeed a non Newtonian fluid, which those of us who know about Joon Tickle New already. Yes. veryery good It's an Armando victory, seventeen points, sixteen points for Joel Joint with Joanna Camle fourteen points and Amy on thirteen points. meaning Joanna going into this final episode is in the lead, one hundred and forty nine points. You are so close behind her Camail one hundred and forty five points. Who knows? I could be speaking to you on next week's podcast as well Amy, one hundred and forty three points also close. Armando also close, one hundred and thirty eight points and then Joel is there And he's having such a nice time on one hundred and twenty seven points. It would be something pretty incredible if he somehow wins. So that's a pretty close It is's close race. Top three definitely very close. Armando a little bit behind, but you know he's had a couple of really good episodes. if he has another one like that next week. Who knows what could happen U But yeah, Jo Joel is Joel's just a nice guy isn't he A Joel's such a nice guy. Ar Mando's won two episodes? Yes. So far? Yeah and strllly as well Joe's one one. Yeah I've won one And then I guess Joanna is one three. How many is Amy? Amy wants this one two or three, right? Because that beginning of our series So one Aanda two Jel, that's four So out of the five, yeah, I think Joanna's one three and Amy's one two. That's what my guess would be. because Joanna started off really strong out the g. Yeah Well, they I mean, Amy and Joanna. Yeah Be I remember coming to watch episode six and before the recording When I spoke to you were like theseese ladies are wiping the floor with us in there Yeah, and they were. Yeah. And I started off very, very slow. And our managa started off slow as well. And so did Joel And then nothing changed for. Camail, thank you so much for coming on the Task Master podcast. Guinely it's been brilliant to have you on. We always ask our guests to rate their experience on the podcast between one and five points. You get a chance to give something a score now. Remember, you don't like it when things are unfairly scored, so we hope you've enjoyed your experience, but please give us a point score What did you think of my time reversing task I loved it. I thought it was really inventive and I understood it and I know why you were speaking backwards was really clever and also I loved it to start with, but now I've thought about it more. I think it's the best one, best one you've done Do you think I've been on score unfairly during the year? Yeah B time The only word that comes to mind is big time M Yeah I would give you a three Hey, this is how it feels. This is what it happens. Yes. This is how it feels. This is how it feels to have a system that works a hundred percent of the time and be beaten by a person who Tied into a long stick Welcome, Mil. sometometimes this podcast acts as therapy, but I feel like we've stirred up Quite a. No I hit the Hornet's nest there. No, no, yeah. I think we've brought up stuff that I will bring to therapy. This did not feel like therapy. Therpy feels like, you know, o, I got something off my chest. This feels like I'm more wound up than I was Yeah before I saw your face. Can I ask you a question? this is a big request that I'm sure it won't necessarily work out If possible, when you're filming the new season of the White lightighters, which we're all very excited about Is it possible at some point? for your character to just be walking in the background touching bulbs But you know what I've already shot a couple leaks.. So I haven't done it so far yet I will do my best. If we could get even touching one bulb would be fantastic. All right, All right Ah, it's hot. like all bulbs. If you could get that line and that would be ideal, but that's my God. I'll definitely get it in. I don't think Mike's gonna leave it in. Sure. Yeahah, yeah. All right. Okaykay. Mikeope hopefully Mike doesn't listen to this.w otherwise we're fucked here. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, okay, great Thank you so much for mail. Bye bye. Bye Thank you so much to Kamle for coming on the podcast. I think I got under his skin. That was my aim, certainly. If you watch the video on YouTube, you can You can see that's very much my energy. I know how his brain works when it comes to Task Master because that's how my brain works when it comes to Task Master, meaning that gives me ultimate skill to annoying the shit out of him. But lovely time him on the pod. what a great guy, what a great competitor. veryy much looking forward to watching the final next week, the final next Thursday, nine PM channel four and we will be back here with the podcast straight away after that with the winner of the series.
