What about all the funny female comedians? likeike No, no, no. right? I'm not doing that. o, right. That was irony, okay? There's going to be a bit of that throughout the show. seeee if you can spot it. okay. Now that's when I say something I don't really mean for comic effect. and you as an audience, you laugh at the wrong thing because you know what the right thing is. It's a way of satirizing attitudes. Like that first joke, I use the old fashioned sexist trope that women aren't funny. Now, in real life, I know there are loads of funny women, like I did it again. Well spotted. Good. No, but there are. Dan Edna Everidge. Ed is out. Yeah. Ed is obviously and Dame Edna are both men. you dress up as woman. Hell But I have to say, they're just not. My wife can make me is one of the very few people who can crack me up no matter what I'm the other one. but my wife can crack me up. and she knows what makes me laugh and it's also just that I'm so crazy about her. I laugh anyway. But it is true just as a general rule that women just aren't that funny. mean, and the reason is simple, I think it's evolution. They don't have to be They don't have to charm us. They just have to walk by. They know, I mean we're animals. It's like they walk by.'s like, o I see what do. I just think that's, you know, you have to be funny to be charming and they don't have to be, so they aret. All right, here's more. Can women be funny Yeah, of course ' saying y though there's a of angry young men on the internet that they're like women can't can't be fun when you guys just grow up and just sit down and rite your own horse Come up with it, startart your own Have your own awards show. Quit waiting around for other people to do for you. That's the I'm crying you. If you guys had your own big club and I was standing outside of it, you'd never let me in. I'd start my own. You just quit wing my c. Bilber used to be one of my favorite comedians, but he went a little woke on us, I think. And I think, you know, I hate to blame his wife, but he blames his wife. He talks about her all the time, sort of correcting him and setting him. I don't know. someomebody said to me recently that You can't trust a conservative who has a liberal wife. And my wife is not liberal. She's much nicer than me. And one of the things I love about my wife is that she's so nice, but it doesn't make her political thought really good. so I just nod pleasantly she. But I think that Bill Burr, we lost him to his wife a little bit. He's not as funny as he used to be. A women, huh? God, I hate him Here's an actual real, it looks like a woman, I think, talking. Another female comics send an article called Why Men Don't L like Funny Women, and it was more devastating than most climate change reports to me because There's science that backs it up and it really? It was from I forget the public I think it was from the Atlantic Ocean. It was a waterlog seventeen magazine thatad. I actually checked the research on it because I brought it into my therapist office to cry about it, being like, do you see what I'm talking about? Like men don't like funny women. And she was like, let me check that And she got back to me about it. She like checked the research and she's like, Yeah, this isn't looking good for you. Like we should look into women because women suck. Men and women look for the same thing in the opposite sex. They say looks first and then sense of humor second. But the thing is men and women define sense of humor differently in the opposite sex. Women define sense of humor in a man as a man who makes them laugh. And men define sense of humor in a woman as a woman who laughs at their jokes. Yes, I would say that sounds incredibly accurate. A woman has a sense of humor if she laughs at your jokes. And there's a reason for this. There's a reason for this. Humor always has a hostility an age of hostility to her It is a way of releasing hostility without necessarily being hostile. It's like they put chin into you a man. This is when a man, ye all, put in the anger. Don't forget the anger. As out of the factory. We all have this aggression and anger and we release it if we're decent people, sometimes through humor. Who wants a woman carrying that much anger All right, M, H here's howie Mandel looks. It's very easy for a man to dislike a female comedian. That's just the way it is. Men don't think women are funny as a generalization. Men think that they're funnier, they think that they're smarter, they think that there's I'm not saying this about you specifically. This is a generalization about all men. that is women just get a harder time. It's the way if you're not attracted to her, then you don't like her. If she's too loud, you don't like her, if she's too opinioned, you don't like her. It's a very circular conversation. And you don't think the same thing goes for a man. Like if I see a man that is performing and he's too loud and he's obnoxious and he's weird looking, you don't think that he'll be judged the same? No, not by other men. Yeah, all of this is true. You know, usually when people talk about men and women, I get My ears perk up listing for generalizations and things like this, but as generalizations go, this is true. And again, it's like What do you want from him? You want gentleness, you want generosity, you want kindness, you want sweetness. You feed a man, you make love to him, and you give him a little gentleness, He will build a world for you. He will build the empire He will turn your world into Disneyland if he can. You know the other day I was watching a very popular comedian named Taylor Tomlinson and her latest thing I actually turned it off because I thought reallyally I learned how to put this exactly. Really dark energy was coming off her. and she's always played on her neurosis and her problems. But now she was kind of bragging about her neurosis and her problems and her wickedness and things like that. And I thought, no, this is know sometimes I never thought she was that funny, but now I thought she actual wickedness was coming off her. I just don't think this is what women are made for I think they're made for other things. Why is that so wrong? Why is it sexist to say men and women do complimentary things. I don't know, but humor is not one of the big things we're looking for women. And as I say, my wife makes me laugh, but she just makes me laugh because she makes me happy. I'm not saying that there aren't great female comedians. There are many, many, many. That's not the same as the female sense of humor I say the problem with female comedes up until now is they tend to be by the Dkes or Jews or butch Rosan Bu Sarah Silverman, etcetera, etceter.ese are all forms of emulating male humour. She says the same. What does she say is different? Well, now there are some that are also pretty, even if some of them are a bit Bch and a bit Jewish. Well, okay. But she says, and I quote By and large, however, stand up comedy is tougher and meaner and the women who do it play by men's rules. Well that's exactly in so many words what I said. But now they're prettier and sexier and they wear less care less about the proprieties. So what has been the achievement of my essay? It's been to make sexier women try harder to amuse me? Well, that was my whole plan to start. That' forents who started this whole argument, he came out and said what we all know that women are not as funny as men.. And of course, all of these things about women and men always are generalities, right? There's always exceptions. I mean, Tina Feay is a very funny writer. know I was talking about that I show Widow's Bay the other day, that was written by a female writer who had also written for Parks and Rerec. So yeah, of course there are exceptions, but would you live with one of them? I don't know. But I think in general you're just going have to eat it, you know, I think the men are just funnier because they're meaner and that's what humor is all about And I just think it's true Why you would emulate that? I'm not sure, but that seems to be the sort of feminist flaw is that women cannot be great at being women because men not wanting to be feminized ddain feminine traits. So women think they're dis staining them. Men do ddain feminine traits because women have so much power over men that that's the way they kind of mitigate it. and also to boost themselves up But you only have to look at the way men treat women who they like and you'll see that they're not really looking down on them. They're just, just boosting themselves up. Anyway, the jury's in, there's no going back.
