He, Welcome back to the Break rooom. I'm Alex Burg, Brian Kim, and you guys all remember Brandon Barry. Oh, hello, You might remember me. You might not even know me. That's right. They know you. Yes.es, they know you. The real ones know. The real though. The real. Well, Brandon, welcome back to the show. We're happy to have you. What a pleasure be here I miss you We missed you too. Yeah I missed you. It's been a while. It's been a little while. been a while. And like if any of you guys were at the IGN event, you were also at. We just we were at IGMY. Was that yesterday? Yesterday? It was yesterday That was yesterday. Yeah, I mean we've gone all the way to attorney back. lost some time. But that was yesterday that was a great event I think you could have watched it live. It is good IGM. I think might have had a live stream. There was like the main stage and also the panel stage. Yeah. I think both were live. Okay. Yeah. Well, we were accorded it We did a Rad to Doom. We record it. Yeah, Well, we did the Rad to Doomsdayay on Captain America Civil War, which in my opinion is like A tier Marvel. That's right up there with end games. Yeah. likeike that's that's one of those is like an adventure movie without being an adventure movie? I mean, it's not It an It's an Avenger movie, but you know It's more of an Avengers movie than Ageltron. Yeah. Yeah, you know, can know I'll say that U But yeah, it's fucking great. And yeah, we talked about it. And there was also Eric and Zach were there earlier for Avengers draft U that I missed because I was not awake. It was so early. It was very early. It was ten AM. onn a Sunday, it's too much. It's too much Um U Brian outside of IGN, how was your weekend? U you know, it was a pretty eventful weekend. I also visited IGN Live. wanted to show my support U, but No, I really wanted to see what wass going on. I was there. I was there. I wasone saw the beginning Eic Eric saw from across the room and didn't say anything to any of us until afterwards, he was like, Brian was here and we all just had taken onave becauseuse I was at the side because I was like, I had to leave a little early. I had something else planned later in the day. So while in the middle of the road to doomsday I was like, Well, time scary. so I just let. And I was like, you movie Exactly. Yeah yeah. I saw that you'll see it later, but Eric was just scrolling through the movie in hyperspeed. I was like, whoa, what's happening? There's a giant scream behind us we can see on the log little scream be like b It's like a clockwork orange' just like shking on the lidlcks. I need to know what happens at the end. I gotta leave man. I can't wash it right now But the day before, I actually everybody knows Evan. me and Evan and a couple other people, we played A board game It was called Fellship of the Ring.. you guys know the pandemic game. It is that system, but with a that's so fun. It's really good. Yeah. You know, I like pandemic because you know, it's like a really hard game, but it's like cooperative and you can all played together. But it's like you generally want to wipe out diseases across the map . That's a broad philosophy of life. Exactly. Yeah. But Fellllowship of the Ring Uh, you know, you're trying to get the ring to Mordor And like somehow they designed the game that it ramps up difficulty the more you get closer to Mordor and it gets really tense because there's this mechanic where like Soron could search for you and like every time he successfully searches, you lose hope Like your health is how much hope you have.. And at the end, it was basically like a fifty, fifty we either lose hope and lose or he doesn't see us when we win We freaking what that was that was. Thank you. That's why we're all Yeah Eil was defeated this weekend. So if any of you guys have the chance to get that game, it is worth it. Okay. it's worth it. Okay's great. Hbro. Is that a Hasbro game? I don't think so. I don't think so. Whs Lord of the Rings at this point. I don't know. I feel like Lord of the Rings is one of those franchises where it's like You know, on the one hand, you can get this French company to make a golllem game because it's based on the books But EA has all like the regular video game right. But if you want to make an RPG, you can sneak that in over here. You you know, like so the board game rights are probably owned by like a dude named John Texas. who was like, yeah, okay, yeah, I won't make a board game with it, you know? It' probably Lord of the Ringss monopoly that has to exist. I must made everything everythingvery's a monopoly. Bardwalk W would Boardwalk be Mordor or is that is that a good place to be Or do you want like is that like Staint James? No, it's gotta be like Rivendell has to be like Boardwalk Park placelace, right? I guess so. The wealthiest Wherever the Ems lived Yeah inark. Yeah, it's got to the Rriven. El Rnd's fuck hut. four hundred dollars. There you go how are your guys this weekends other than IG and live stuff U prettyretty good. Traveled into ten. I'm no longer living Angeles because they won't elect Spencer Prvis I to go. So I had to go. You knew he was going be I knew it was not going to make it I still haven't forgiven him for squandering his crystals for So Yeah, traveled into town. I've been seing people, got to do the IGM live event. That's been a lot of fun. Nice. Stop here at the office today. lovevely. G to seean You did get you wouldn't have seen it. It't matter God had was forced to see masters of the universe. Witud you guys. We will talk about at the end of the episode for those you who are worried about spoilers, but I feel very comfortable giving my review as a two thumbs down I feel comfort I feel comfort. I'm one thumbs up. I'm s. Okay. Great, well let's get into the show. So we have a couple of news and news items here, Oh my God screwed up with the windows here. Okay. firstirst news item, we got a new kid cast in Doomsday. Boom. They won't give us a trailer. They'll give us coffee, they'll give us a picture of this photogenic kid. You know, it doesn't look to me like the same Franklin Richards we saw at the end of Fantastic four possible it's just an older version of that Franklin Richards, but it doesn't feel it feels like there this is a different kid in this universe. There's been a few Kids casts for this meet right that have been announced in like It does seem like a child story in that like The children are important in some way. Yes. Steve Rogers has a baby. That's going to be important you know, doom dealing with Franklin Richards I So like Is this just yeah, someone else's kid or something like that? It must like this must be like maybe Steve Rogers' kid Yeah growing the cyclops, right? Like 'cause like my cyclop is a ton of kids. they got kids. So there's got kids in every area. kids clones of his of gen. He's got kids from different times You he'll just be walking down the street and a person shows up and He's like, I'm your kid from the future. And he's like, Geez, another one. There's two versions of them. Be And there's there's like multiversal children that come to find him or. Yeah. becausea in the four teasers we got before Avatar that the Rusos swore were telling a story. R my trailers. You know, Thor had a kid, Steve had a kid You know was it Tussant? Is that Tachala kid? We know Reping Wakanda and then that leaves Cyclops That that's theXan side of something. Yeah, so that's my thinking, but also like it seems like broadly based on things we've heard from the Rusa Bothers and stuff like this movie is really about like kind of that next generation and protecting them. So yeah that's why I'm thinking it's like a ex child or or Cyclops kid, but he has two eyes in the press phot of this. That's true. Cyclops has two eyes. We don't know He has theseasses on. Yeah I don't know what's under. Yeah. You can't know e. Yeah man has two eyes. got one eyes That's why I' vs. Do we know this kid's name Yeah. Yeah, I have it here Pachino Kanin It Hino. It's two last names, which does feel like cllled a little bit. Two distinctly last names. Two famous actors last names.. Yeahucin Pucino and. Jes Can.. The M most famous actor of all time. Puzz in Jares Khan Yeah yeah, yeah. Ty that's true you know Um Yeah, so I mean, I, you know Viewers of this show, and I'm sure you two know, like I would like to get a doomsday trailer Sure. Soon. you know, I'm happy to eat the crumbs of these like, you know, casting news and that sort of stuff. but You know, hearing about a coffee pop up, seeing a new kid cast in the movie. I'm like Okay, great. What I really want is like, hey, where's this like night crawler versus Reed Richards fight scene I heard about eight months ago? I have to imagine be a glimpse at this. They want to get past Spiderm Man brand new day because something is in that movie right? Like I a post credit sequence to set up whatever or to just hint at whatever. And I imagine at this point The trailer that comes out different than what they should at Cinema. Oh you think so? There's no way that they've just like, oh, we cut that trailer and it's fine You know They could be tweaking effects or whatever, They could be tweaking clock. The trailer will, I think be different overall. If they've waited this long, there's no reason about that much. Yeah. because that's not going to blow anyone's mind and be like, oh,' heard about from Chunang Chi, your Fidingard Yeah yeah Yeah. So I really think they want to get past Spiderm Man Brand day. Yeah. And but my thing is though like I know Spider Man is in the greater MCU of course, but Spider Man is also almost Like Spider Man is Spider Man, and it is the rest of Marvel of us And so I don't even think they need to wait until Spider Man. who's gonna to see the Avengers trailer and then be like, you know what? I'll wait for after Spider Man to watch the Marvel. Like they're going to watch both. Sure. They're going to watch it both. I think one of the things that's weird about Sony's relationship with Marvel and this is something that we saw play out both in Far fromom homeome and no way home Is that like There's a lot of cross studio coordination that needs to happen. It's not always the most civil. you know, like like and sometimes there's stuff that's nobody's fault L like with multiverse and madness and No way H is release order getting flipped because of COVID likeike that's not on anybody. But that timing then required a bunch of like, you know, well, we have to update the script because now Strange hasn't seen the multiverse before. you know, So to Brandon's point about like they're probably trying to get on the other side of brand new day There might be a thing we'll find out like way after the fact where it's like, oh yeah, brand new day was originally supposed to come out after Doomsday, but then it came out before Doomsday you know That was something. Yeah because doomsday was going to be earlier in the year. And' vitamin, I think technically was after. so we're like, well, how are do I going to solve that? Yeah. like sometimes that stuff like causes a reshuffling or like, you know when Infinity War ended and we're like, man, I guess Spider Man's dead forever, which we all believe they're all gone forget. You know, But then like they couldn't they couldn't promote far from home because so much of it is like one, Spider Man's alive, you know, and like him dealing with Tony's death. You know, So like That has the whiff of I think there's something Yeah. there's a reason they just kind of want to get past Spider Man Be I think the trailer they release will be different. Yeah. at that point, They might as well do a different trailer They waited that long. Yeah. agree. I agree. Yeah. Yeah, I mean, I am excited for Doomsday. I remain I remain frustrated that that it feels like the I think I'd be less frustrated if if they hadn't been like there's going to be big news and that it's like, this is not big news. And right now we're about six months out from Yeah right. And traditionally A lot of times Marvel, that was the window. Yeah six months before the releasase. This was a very different release in so many ways But you know, we're kind of getting close to to release time. so ye. Yeah. yeah. Okay, well great. well let's move on from Marvel to DC. We've gotten It seems like roughly thirty minutes of the Supergirl movie as promotional clips put up on Twitter and all the socials this weekend I have not been watching them because I'd prefer to see them in the context of the movie Um, You know, I know there was a Supergirl screening for press and I think influencers recently. I haven't talked to Eric about it because I'm pretty sure doesn't know. And it's just it it makes every interaction weird. I'm like, hey, Eric, and he's like Buddy, you know, B. U But, you know, so I don't I don't know anything about it the The This is a modern movie sort of marketing tactic that like I don't love is the clip from the movie. like out of context. Like even when it's movie I'm really excited to see. I'm like, I don't want to watch this scene and then be waiting for it, you you know, like I do love a trailer. I really do love the trailer. But But for some reason, that's always always struck me as a little bit weird. I'm curious what your guys' thoughts are, not only on their their this as a marketing tactic B for Supergirl more broadly U But also just it seems like we've gotten like four of them in this past week I will say like a recent example of that, right? Yeah. We just saw masters They put out a clip beforefore the movie came out of like like a humorous clip with with skeletor right Yeah. That was like kind of like that was a good thing to put out because it was like The initial trailer for that movie was very serious. Yeah. Yeah. and like trying to whver was like very cool. And I think a lot of the trailers for that movie haven't been too humorous. And the movie has like a lot of humor. It's a goofy movie. Yeah, yeah. So like them putting out that clip, I think was important But they did that like the week the movie was coming out. Yeah. I agree that I don't love like clips for movies unless you can promise me it's in the first like ten minutes or something of the movie. Yeah I just it makes me feel like I'm waiting for it.ight. And I don't even I like a I love a trailer too, but I hate I hate when it's like, You're with someone know you're like, let's watch this movie. they're like can I see trailer first? I'm like, I don't want to watch a trailerute. Oh, interesting. 'a then you' just kind of piecing it together like, oh. you haven't seen that. And like, you know, trailers will often givew who the villain is. Yeah. So you don't always want to know that. And in this day and age you know, they're throwing clips all over the place. It's like You know, they might release a clip online or they might release it on like TikTok or like a thing on Instagram. And they're showing different stuff everywhere and here at New Rockstars. You take all those little pieces and you put them together. something You're looking at all of them. but most people aren't seeing every single clip. They're just catching astray here or there So unless you're really searching your out, you're not going see all those clips Yeah. That being said, I think they're releasing all these clips because they want to get as many people into the movie as possible. Yeah. I don't know what ticket sales're looking at I don't know if they're worried about, you know, opening weekends It's funny because I might agree with that point just because For me, I think clips are working. I liked the trailers for the first the first two trailer most recent they shared a trailer for Master of the Universe. I was like, yeah, this looks fun as. The most recent trailer, I think had the most like kind of like of, this is a superhero movie all this stuff. U But I think I was kind of like whatever, but the clips kind of showed a little bit more of like what I will expect from the movie proper. Yeah because trailers can they Pick a tone for the trailer. And like you said, like with masters of Universe I'll be real. I also was not too interested before E scalet clip. Right. I'm like, o wa, this is going to be a funny mov. There's a lot more hum than the trailers give you. A bit more, yeah, a bit more goofy and a bit more something maybe I would like to see U so I At least as a marketing thing, they are just shotgunning clips to be like, let's see if any of this like lands with people. Yeah. also we're in the landscape of like TikTok and reels and stuff where clips are shown, you market via clips. L that's just how things are nowadays. No one has the Like the t attention span to see an entire trailer. So you see me like a thirty second clip? I'm like, I'm gonna be on my phone while the trailer' going Yeah ye ye. So as the trailer's going, you see a clip go onto your screen. you're like, oh wait, that's the It's kind of like, I mean, this is like what Coca Cola does. Cocaac Cola is very successful. You've heard of it They show clips of their' load There kind of was a commercial for Coca Cole at the beginning of Masters of the Universe or which was very weird. Yeah. But like Coke's whole thing now that they've had a lot of success with is like They don't just make a can of Coke A twenty ounce bottle and a two liter, right? They make like fifty different sizes. They make all sizes. And they learned that like if you just offer this huge variety of sizes, there's a size for somebody. Yeah. So that's kind of how the marketing works where it's like they're just doingring it all over the place. That's true. Yeah. somethinghing will hit someone R And I think Supergirl is a tough second movie for the new DC under James Gun and Peter Saffrin. because in my opinion, it's like your first movie was Superman and your second movie is like Super Girl. Yeah. And it's like DC has this wide variety of characters and you're giving me like two Kryptonians back to back. like how are they different? And I think that's what they're trying to do with this marketing to show like this is going to be very different than Superman, even though it's kind of the same power set in the same I like from like, you know, the bird's eye view, I like Supergirls a second film for DC specifically because it's like, hey You know the power set We don't have to explain this all to you. Hopefully we can skip over like what would normally be the first act of a movie and you get to it But if that is what the movie winds up being, if that's be winds up being G to be on of Krypton blowing? I' gonna to say There's actually gonna to be maybe even more set up as Superman. Wait spepeaking spepeaking of Krypton blowing up, can someone explain to me? because I don't have threads on my phone. So I couldn't see what was going on with Krum Holz this weekend Did he just melt down on Instagram? I saw Jess posting on Slack. No, it was more like Uh, there was I don't remember the exact context, but it was something about like a political thing of like, you know, you can't just be blanket statement all one type of person like don't shame somebody for I Someone said like if you aren't gonna vote for this person or X,YZ, something like that, then you're a bad person essentially. And so he was just making a statement that like, don't Don't say stuff like that. you know, I'm not a bad peopleople aren't bad people for not doing this X,YZ political thing. G And then he started doubling down on his statements. that's when it gets like messy. and eventually he deted everything because You know,ed his account, right? I Yeah. Iard one I sawone say that. NTu my account. If's if that's fake, then that's that's on that's my mistake. This is not a news channel. We will spread misinformation. Yeah, That's just how it. Post if you're watching Coen, you know, The only way to know truth is like I'm on the show. Availability, amount of discounts and savings, and eligibility vary by state Okay, well let's let's go from we went Marvel DC Third pillar, Netflix. So Netflix announced Ghostbuster's Night shift new animated series revealed the logo art This series has been in development for a very long time. Maybe since before the strikes becauseuse I remember they had like a big Ghostbusters Day thing where they announced all the things that were coming out and this was ahead of the Newish sequel, right? No, it was after frozen frozen. But it is in continuity with Frozen. This is part of the new like Ghostbusters world. Yeah. so building now. you know, my connection to this project is my my wife, Jesus, was a to it. you killed the st. Wow, you speak of wives and immediately willll be right back. No, Heard call you call it Yeah D'tire. Okay, we're back then. Okay. sry everybody. That that was Brian. But so my wife worked on aoundic ye Wored on this Ghostbusters thing for a little bit., you know, and they've it's just kind of been stuck in a little bit of development now. I'm not sure if that's on Netflix, Sony, the rights holders, like whoever, but it's it's been gestating a long time. The A I was able to see what she was working on. it looked fucking rap. Like it looked really good U I think it's just kind of been a case of many cooks, you know, like they they really want to keep it in line with Frozen Empire and the new the new lore I like these animation projects always to always happen They get like delay, delay delay I mean, Marvel dealt with this with all of their animated series. It was like the announcement would come out and they like next year and then like three years later, you're still waiting. We're still waiting for beyond the spitingverse. Yeah true trrue. Yeah also Sony. Yeah. so I mean, I grew up with Ghostbusters. I love Ghostbusters so much. We were talking before Mag real Gusters Real Ghostbusters like I was not a human or a GI joke kid. I was ghostbusters and fucking ninja turtles.idy. Ninjaurtles where it's at. Yeah But Ghostbusters, good stuff. So I'll always be rooting for Ghostbuster. Yes. I think it's like the best format. the story. Yeah. The most recent reboot of Ghostbusters was was good. Frozen Empire was fine, but Frozen Empire almost felt like an episode you could do in the animators, right? And it's like think it's so much more fun in the animation dealing with ghosts. Yeah. And I think also packs. you know, in when it's animated, it's like, oh, the ghosts look the same as the people. It's not like, well, that's clearly CGI. That's clearly Dan Ackrod, you know, or whatever. Right. Yeah, I'm optimistic for it. I'm optimistic for it. I am excited because I mean Ghost Mstters is a fun IP. But man, people Messter the universe, again, like people are trying to reboot so many of these IP. Why don't we just get a new ghost hunting group? I call it G new ideas, man. Give me new ideas. I mean, even we talked about it last time, but even the fact what is it? something What's the dinosaur movie called Oh of Oak Street. A the endnd of Oak Street. I mean, just by the fact that it's a dinosaur movie that's not Jurassic Park is kind of like ye let me see a new take on this. Yeah This is going to be a lot of fun They put feathers on those dinos. Oh yeah, we got feathers. We got quills, we got pumps stuff. G new ghosts, new busting Maybe it's not that Proton overall, you l. Okay, No other third phot. That's the best way to catch a gl. You're right? That would just great. I'm loving that Okay, let's see. now Netflix, the obvious leap is to Toy Story five. Obvious. I'm not even gonna to explain why. I'm not gonna to insult anyone's attelligence pretending they don't get why Um We got our first look at Jesie's owner Emily via a Japanese trailer for Toy Story five. Yeah which Brian had hypothesized on this very show that we were gonna to get a glimpse of this character. How do you feel feel vindicated? I mean fucking better It was. Oh yeah. I'm like I called it only me. No one else talking about it. But no, I think it it makes sense that they were teasing it I guess what I'm surprised is that they showed it at all U because it kind of was in the American trailers You know, you could kind of piece together what's going on via the like the little bit of Easter eggs on the lily pad and like the fact that she's at the street that looks similar to the tree. Yeah. But in the Japanese trailer just straight up showed Jessie or Emily. and I was like, I guess I don't know what the thinking is with like the Japanese audience, like they won't connect unless they see who the owner is and versus us who just care about the toys. I'm not really sure the logic behind that. So I do wonder Joan Hus been doing interviews. Yeah. And she's been saying like this is like the Jesse story. Yeah. You know what I mean? So maybe they were just like, well, cat's out the bag Yeah, I might as well know Or that was I'm not saying like she forced their hand, but like that was part of the marketing strategy right. I love Joan Kuzak. Yeah. You don't love Joan Kuzak, go watch Adams Fily Values. Tell me tellell me you've ever seen someone having more fun than Joan Kuzak and Adam's Family Values She's phenomenal So good, so good. Yeah. The trailer made it, you know, we can see that it's like, oh, it's the toys versus electronics, but it's good I'm glad to know there's more to it than just like Yeah. Yeah the very on the nose thing. And Jess's do, you know, she wass such a huge part of Toy Story too Um L last Toy Story movie felt like it was kind of like, hey, we're gonna circle to Bow Peep a little bit and see what she's been up to You know, I do feel like Toy Story kind of really At the end of three wrapped up the buzz Woody stuff like with a bu. Yeah. you know, so it's like I think we do need to see some of these other toys get like a little bit of center stage now. I wonder if it is going to be I think I'll still love the movie, but I'm wondering if it's like a rethread of the idea that like Woody had with Andy like he was Andy's toy, but he has to come to the next generation Bonnie. So Andy had to give them up because like Toys are meant be played with So are they gonna to do the same thing with like they send Jessie back to Emily who's like way older and she's not gonna to play with her And so she's like, well, I have to be with Bonnie because she's the one playing with me It feels little. potentially like Samy, but just with Jesse. I'm interested to see how they treated this I mean, it's Andrew Stanton directing it. Yeah. And he wrote it along with I forget the co writer, who's also like Lista, the co director on it. And I have faith that like they are So involved with this st, that they're not just gonna like retry the game. It's not going be like a Force awwakens scenario where we're just doing same. If the worst movie in your franchise is Toy Story four, you're doing one You don't think so? It's the worst? No. What's the worst two worst two Fst is like Yeah, it's a subject I think two is like has the most issues. F is people rag on four, but like I really like four a lot. And like that opening sequence is just incredible and it is Pixar dunking on everybody. And like you want dirty toys in the rain. I'll show you what's like They're the way they developed the new like camera movements for that movie, I mean are gorgeous I don't care And people are m that like four is still a good movie. That's what I'm saying It's better than two.'s I'm sorry,' better than two. I don't wantan to hear it. I don't want toar it I don't want to har You don't want You know, we all can agree Three is the best one? Now, we're talking a lot about Toy Story. Okay. So obviously we gott to get in Summer Games Fest in the Xbox showhcase from this weekend. We talked a lot last week about Sony's state of play There's a mystery Nintendo direct tomorrow morning at like four AM Pacific or five AM Pacific or something But Xbox and Summer Games Fest hit over the weekend while we were all hanging out at IGM Live All right. A couple big game announcements from this persona six, Spro, new sppiral game for Spyro heads. Some of this stuff is like what I found the most interesting Yeah.' like, It's also not a sppiral remake It's a no, it's a new Spro spal game. Yeah. I'm gonna be All those jams. Oh yeah. Oo Yeah, Residentvil Veronica remake, new cuphead game. Yeah. so they like teased a little bit that they're working on like a proper sequel, but in the interim, they're having this like small game that's reminiscent of the NES era. And so I think they're deaking their original game to be like a NES version. And then they're making like a proper sequel after. Right But I like the cuphead game. so' they're honestly they're fantastic Bol Hells. Bolthells are a genre that I love to play, but inevitably suck at. Yeah, ye. You know what I mean? Like my love for the genre never exceeds or always exceeds my ability to play it. So cupheads again where it's like, man, the first two levels of cupheads I'm done Yeah, then like I just I just I suck at it. Oh, an alien isolation too, which also looks great. Looks great. I will never play it because I'm such a scary Too scary. Is too scary. Yeah. first And Some of the alien video games are pretty good. Fire Tame I wanted to play and then it got like bum reviews, but ye I mean, the thing for me this weekend is, you know, it's been kind of a Big ish medium sized story that Xbox over the course of the past generation, past console cycle. has kind of just given up on exclusivity, you know, like PlayStation was experimenting with putting stuff out on PC, but like you'd never get like God of War on Xbox, whereereas Xbox seemed to go like Take it. we don't care. And then, you know, Asha Sharma, I believe. came in recently and she's been she's making some changes and it feels like, you know, this This weekend part of that was like, hey, we're going to bring back Xbox console exclusives Uh which as someone who is just a console player and you know, has Xbox PlaySations switch anyways, doesn't matter so much to me Except in that, I think Xbox had kind of carved a niche out for itself as like broiest of the console R. Yeah Yeah you know, not universally, but like, you know, it's like gears of war was like, you know, the big like halo Yeah. Yeah, you know, like and u You know, not that that's those are necessarily the games I play the most, but I do kind of Think if you're gonna bother to have a console you kind of need exclusives. you know, otherwise there's not really much reason to do that Nintendo's the king of this, you know, like almost to the detriment of its third party offerings. So you know, I just with with Xboxes, they have like two things that are definitely console exclusives, this's like clockwork game There's one other I'm blankking on right now You know, it kind of feels like the horse is already out of the barn and they're closing the door afterwards. Yeah, know U I hope that's not the case because I want Xbox as a separate console to maintain its viability. I think Game passass rules. I've gotten so many great games on Game Pass and I want that to not just be like a subscription service I sign up for on like my playaysttation or something. But yeah, I don't know. the Xbox the Xbox reveal this weekend left me feeling a little bit like what are we doing Yeah, because it's like Xbox Yeah, I don't know if they can Bounce back. Unless they really like focus in on like really cool IP, maybe even new IP that's exciting, that's exclusive to Xbox Because the yeah, it is kind of out of the bag. I think the people's expectations now are like, well, Xbox games will be everywhere. Yeah, because that was parted with the Indiana Jones. They were like only on Xbox for the next six weeks. you know, like you played on Switch too, you know, Yeah, I want Xbox to to live and survive. I've just I don't I don't know how much this exclusive thing feels like a rear guard action to me a little bit. Okay, so those are the big video game news. And of course, I'm playing too many games right now, which is fine Let's let's talk about the masters of the universe in the room. we in potatoes. So if you are worried about spoilers for masters of the universe This is your chance to tune out Go see it and then come get mad at us for feeling differently about the film than you did in the comments afterwards. U Oh, sorry, just you Eagle saying Gears of W E day. That's right. I knew I was yeah. It was like gears of work. Classic Xbox exclusive. Very different from likeike Pentiment, alsoso an Xbox exclusive. So okay, Masters of the Universe, before we get too into it, what were your expectations going in? How well did the movie be those expectations. You know, I initially was like were saying like I was in a big Master universe, he man. I don't have lot of aal charac I really care too much you know, I wasn't too interested. And then like the week before it came out, you know, I was seeing all the headlines like o sales are down, going to have a rough weekend. But the reviews were like kind of like, o, it gets it. It knows what it's supposed to be silly. it's campy. It's funine in that way. And it is those things U, it's too long It's been pretty long. It's pretty long. Yeah, I will start out with saying I think when I watch I said this al, but when I watched the trailers, I had expectations that I was going to be kind of like a campy corny movie about like the superhero of like, especially it's an IP that I didn't grow up with. Yeah. But so I didn't really have an initial like, oh, I want to see this. But after seeing the skeletor clip, I'm like, okay, this is at the very least going to be a Fny movie, so I'll get like humor out of it, if not like the nostalgia stuff U like I mean, I watched the Pokemon Detective Poke Pikachu and The Mar movie specifically because I'm like IP I know and I'll see these things. But even without that, I had a I had a really good time U I thoughts A lot of the movie, I think it those expectations of like, oh, it's going to be a funny movie with this IP. It's going to be a little goofy U But for yeah, for some reason, even though at least I was having fun, I did feel that it was really long. long. It just felt long. I'm like, o, so interesting Um I felt that the humor was a little bit akin to like something like Dungeons and Dragons of that kind of like irreverece we're kind of making fun of the world we're living in sort of Uh but That movie felt a lot snappier. Yeah. And this one just felt like there's a lot of gaps in between. But yeah, a big thing for me was like this movie, this movie starts off Awesome. If the the opening sequence of the movie feeleels like the sickest airbrushed van in the in, you know, right local CVS parking lot uh came to life. It's like these like massive, you know, like these massive like celestial beings like pounding on a black hole.' like hell. Yeahah, you know, like it's it's awesome. And then they're like they really like slam on the brakes to like take us back to follow Prince Adam when he when he comes to Eth And I think kind of for me The movie was at its strongest when it was leaning into how over the top Eternia and the vibe of Eternia was. likeike Skeletor was great. Yeah. Skeletor was like, you know, a as a character was like fully in Eternia, never not over the top really, really worked really well The summer, serve up the cookout classics, craft Mo and dressing, toss green salads with delicious ranch dressing, or zesty Italian Serve smooth, craably creamy potato salads with mayo. We all know it's not a cookout without craft. If we knew more about our sleep What will we do differently? Usually, you add sauce to the food, but when the sauce is this good The food is just there to get the sauce to your mouth. That rolled quesadilla, not a rolled quesadilla anymore. Now it's a sauce shovel Taco Bell'salifeeno citrus salsa, Get it with any item on the canantina chicken menu while it's here. The participate in US. Taco Bell locations for a limited time only, while supplies last, contact store for availability U And the times the movie was just like lean into how over the top that aesthetic was would work really, really well. I thought some of the action sequences were really fun I thought some of the like just visuals were really great But every time they'd be like He man doesn't quite get out of be a man. you know like Id feel like right? Yeah. Yeah. It is a weird thing where The humane character is is in good shape and then when you know, activates his power even more muscular and, you know, The guy is muscular, like trying to like a baggy shirt. It's a little bit like watching misscongeniality and going, hang on, you're telling me Sandra Bullock's not. Sandra Bullock gorgeous because she has a frumpy sweatshirt.ike I think we all kind of agreeed like it would have been It's a fish out of waterater story of that like, you know he remembers his past He wants to go back, but when he goes back, he still kind of has to learn how to be he man, but it's like, you could have just cut all the eararth stuff in my opinion. Yeah. cut the whole thing there and just let us believe this world. Yes. Yeah, yeah. I really, you know, we're talking about a little bit while Brian was ruining the audio. But you know, I don't need my audience proxy to be from Earth Yeah in a fantasy film. You know, it's like I managed to wrap my head around Lord of the Rings, you know, like I managed to wrap my head around Star Wars, you know, like It's if we had just been in Eternia the movie, I think one, we would have saved thirty minutes that I really felt in the last thirty minutes of the movie And too like the humor that you get and some of the jokes genuinely land for me, the humor that you get out of Uh, you know, him being like an HR guy even when the jokes work, what is lost by making him that fish out of water makes it that you have to do so much more legwork to get him back into being where you wanted to be by the end of the movie that I just felt like it ultimately wasn't worth the trade off. Yeah. Um Yeah, I I'm mostly in agreement, but I felt like D. I agree that these moments did detract from it, but I think the good parts, at least for me were like it was so fun that I almost like Okay, I'm willing to go through the song and dance in order to get to the good parts where You know, again Not having grown up with this, this this world where it's like half magic and like night and medieval, but half tech scied sci fi tech. Yeah. I think it worked. It was like just I had no relations to these characters. but the one of these don't be a sword guy. always be a gun guy.ord gu sword bullet you can Or I'd rather be a gun guy But like one of the Wh would you make you do this What was the the trap trap job? Trap job. Um The thing he does with his hook where he gets a gun a gun, turns it into a sword, turns it back to a hook. It just is so fun this world that has so much fun going on that like all this stuff is happening. And to that point, just so I'm not like completely trashing the movie, like Sketor Skeltor looks great. Yeah. Snake Mountain, which is where Skeletor lives, which is a giant like cobra headad over like an active lava field like that Looks awesome right And it's so fun to have a villain who's like I'm a villain. There's nothing redeeming about. Like I'm just evil. deal with it, you know. And I think Allison Breed does a great job. Yeah I't I like people I feel like she's chewing up the seeing. I liked it Edis Alv was having a fun. Ed Alva I thought was doing great. Eone's had so much of this. Everyone's having a fun. I I thought K Mendez actually like did really well, but I think her character didn't have much. Yeah They were trying to strape person who so much that it was just like let' have a little more fun. Even though there'd be fun Things were like Her interactions with her ship are so stupid.' more like this. It's almost like idiocracy over there. Yeah And it's like, let it be that. Let them just be these dumb dums. I think that's like the thing is They I think the eighty show had a lot of this kind of dumbness to it because it's like a Carto for children. It Carto for Chren Yeah, it's he man. It's a man who is he and he's powerful.s like it's a lot of it's so goofy that I think the writers, directors, whoever, like thought they needed to package it more like we're in on the joke rather than were sitting on the joke. There's a lot of winking at the camera. Aot of winking at the camera. A lot of like use of words that it's funny Also like a lot of the there were a couple music cues where I was like, this is an over the top eighties power ballad anthem. I'm so here for it. This is great There a lot of other times where there'd be like people just having a conversation and the music would be like, What is this What is this vibe you're trying to go for? you know? Like it was just there were a lot of weird choices in it. Very weird. I did I did really like that they added the song Is it what's going on or. Oh the Four Non bllonde? Yeah, the Four non Blonde. That's based off let's based off the meme Yeah man. 'a they don't do in the movie, which is like they don't do it. Just do what's the name? Oh you've never have you not seen? Ive seen the like animated someomeone took clips from the old animated show and synced it up with like a ded up version of what's going on. And he manan famously goes I see. But like that should have happened during the credit. They did it on social. They did it on social. But it should have happened during the credit. And there's so many like people in this movie. Yes. L not just characters, but like You know, Kristen Wig is the voice of a robot for no reason. Yeah doing just her normal voice. Normal Kristen Wig Very weird. And Marina Bakara or whatever. Marina Bacar Bacar It's like they could have gotten anyone for that and it's like used it for that and like she's it, but like also not in it. Like so many characters show up, go away for two hours come back and you're just like, I don't have a relationship with this character. Especially after just watching, you know, Civil War again. Right? You know, or even much Guardians of the Galaxy, which balances like a ton of characters and relationships gives it meaning and this All these characters like come and go and like some of them talk for like fifteen minutes and then they're gone for a while. and it's like, well, what is the point? And I don't care about any of them in like a good enough way. It was difficult to not compare this to, you know, Guardians or Ragnarok or something like that because of that like mixture of Fantasy and tech like really put me in a very Asgard mindset. I also started replaying God of War over the weekend. so like, you know That probably that probably ceued me up to it too. But u But yeah, but it was difficult for me not to compare it to, you know, the James Gunn corner of the MCU And it was also difficult for me not to compare it to Barbie. you know? Like when when you watch Barbie like, yeah, Barbie goes to the real world. Barbie's Barbie at the start of Barbie. you know, like He manan doesn't really becomean until arguably the last five minutes of He manan. Yeah it takes a while. You know Origin story really. Yeah. And whereas I thought Barbie was like a really great kind of commentary on Barbie dolls and like, you know, the positive and negative impacts they can have on people who grew up with them Hean felt like it was Blindly like, it's important to be a man You know, got to be strong, you know, like got to live up to your dad, you know, like It didn't have that same I kept waiting because of the Barbie movieie. I kept waiting for that that little like extra bit of depth to it. And again, it's a cartoon for kids. Maybe I shouldn't have expected that from. But it does like, you know, in the third act, it's like, let's try and talk this out instead of fighting and then just they just like, what was the point of them Yeah, there's I think there were basically like two directions this movie kept pulling O itas like one of them is living in this crazy world of like, This is what you remember hean. all these fun characters are beating each other up. And then there's this other side of like trying to import some kind of deeper messaging within it And There is something about something to say about like masculinity, like healthy masculinity, what it means to be a man. Is it just to be strong, protect people And have hairy nuts and have hairy nuts and have hairy nuts. Exactly. That's the most important part. If you shave him man. That's the rules. there's also the direction they wanted to go where hean, again, they present hean or character initially like he's wimpy his real strength is who he as as a person, his compassion Um becausecause the movie was also very jokey, we didn't get to see that compassion. It was never compassion. No was looking for swords on eBay. It was much on his own.' for himself. Any moment that he was doing the human connecting was also treated as a joke.. whichich was funny. I thought it was funny, but it did detract from So is he good at that's not his power. Is that not his I'm actually good at buildving teams Yeah think. No, you're actually good at ping people. Yeah, I think my fundamental takeaway from He Man is it's not for me. That's fine. Not every movie needs to be But I do a little bit resent it when I leave a movie and The thing I keep coming back to is man, Jared Letto was the best part of. But You know, you're not a fan of him and that's totally fine. Yeah you're a fan of him It's not his voice, it's totally modern or whatever. He chose the inflections made, I guess. Yes. And I don't know if he was on I've never seen behind the scenes photos of him Was he on set in a he was on set in a o in ait So he's doing the physical Yeah. because I was like, it could be anybody. I don't know. I think I did see on IMDV maybe or somewhere that there was also a body double kind of likeou fight sequences. but ye they could he is so not a part. so not Jared Letto, butes. but I should say Skeletor is the best part of I also read something from the director Travis Knight, right who had said that when he came onto the project The studio had originally been like, Yeahah, Skeletor wears a gold mask. and the director was like, No, his head is a skull. That's can That was like the first thing he did when he came and was like, we gotta get Skeletor's face to just be a skull. And I dopect there's a lot of there are some CG characters, but a lot of just dudes S Oh yeah. is very nice. I thought the like, I mean, watch Yeah I try' like a dude with his body painted blue and it's not like the best b. Yeah. it's kind of refreshing. I thought that I thought that the costume and makeup effects were great. Yeah like across the board, you know, like U I thought that man of Arms M at Arms armor looked great. Yeah. Even Meanek who is, you know, arguably the goofiest of the people and like and the movie knows it. like Mechancs the the movieiess like, we know this is where we're going to lean into it. Everyone's weirded out by him Yeah, I thought I thought all of the costuming and stuff was like It was part of why I liked so much the eternia of it all and wanted to quit being reminded of Earth, which is half of half of all of Han's lines or like, hey, back on Eth, I am not good at this. And it's like, yeah, okay, I know. but like you're here now. canan we just do it? Yeah Yeah. Yeah, I guess they just they really thought that to make fun or be part of the fun of like how goofy it is. they needed to U have like a real life It' something like the straight man or whatever to like compare it to But yeah, I don't think they needed to. especially even movies like Detective Pikachu, which I think leaned into some of the goofiness of Pokemon in general. But everyone still lived in the Pokemon world. Yeah. It was the jokes were like in jokes Um, So, I think There was a version of this movie where they could have As an audience, we all know that it's goofy. Like Meanneeck is goofy. But him just doing goofy neck things would have been like And if they do make a sequel to this movie, I don't know. it's the performance Yeah think It seems like they want to, but yeah. we'll see, I think a sequel could work a lot better a lot better where it's like we never even talk about Earth And we're just Yeah. Oh, for sure. yeah. That would work way, way better. I think also for me, like, you know, I I think for me like an origin story is great if it shows you someone's like point of view If it's just literally they were a kid and then this happened and then this happened and then this happened. It doesn't really buy much for me. And so much of this movie was bogged down in origin story and not just like Hey, let's watch him like overcome something that is an external representation of some internal difficulty he's having not just constantly being like, o gosh, this is a lot harder than see seeing someone on an email you know, like That was that was kind of kind of my takeaway. I wonder if this movie does hit like really hard for someone who's grown up like specifically watching everything I make comparisons to Detective Picotino like the Mario movie because I think the vibe is kind of similar where I think if you were fans of this, you can like, oh, that's the that thing, that's that character. That's cool that they did this with this, the music cues. and it's Most of the vibe is there Yeah, so that kind of like the power ranges. You' just like, Yeahah, this does not get it at all. This doesn't get what I liked about Power Rangers as a kid. It really got eternity. Yeah I think that's what's so frustrated me is like just stare st Yes No. You know, it wass just that, the whole movie. Okay, well shall we finish crapping on Masters of Union? Yeah we can I wanted to talk aboutr got this is o. Even more spoilers So if you wanted to if you're like I' like man, I hope they don't go too far. We're going too far right now. We're going too far. We'll just talk about the post credit scene. It's like a tease, but also potential setting up. Yeah. They was kind of leaked online by the act by the. Yeah. So I guess not really spoilers if you're online They did show us Shehera Yeah, who is I guess is she canonically Han's sibling? I think so. she's prrincess of power if I recall Okay because Um She didn't get any screenime or the beginning of the movie. That's true. We don't know where she has been. But they're setting that up. and I'm if if this movie is successful enough that we get a Sira movie That might be the movie that we really just live in Eternia Yeah, if they come back to it, they would just stay there. But ye think unless she unfortunately also got transported. Yeah, yeah. We do it all. Run it back, folks. I got here earlier Because that might be also be fun. L if he manan gets like there's life differences where he's like, Oh, something back on Earth like what are you talking about And I'm also more particularly interested because I watched the Netflix animated Shira series. They did like spepecifically ahira show And that was a lot of fun. I had a lot of fun And everyone on the internet loved it and no one said anything. No one got weird about it. No one got weird about it. was That's my Sira. Okay. Okay. I didn't grow up on the eighties stuff. but I like this one. And so For that to be a potential setup, I'm excited for what the future to be Just lean in. lean in, just go on Don't be afraid. We'll get the jokes without someone telling us that was a joke. Yes. Yeah. I guess they just wanted like a broader audience to I, you know, would with people not in the he manan world who like grew up in it. justust takeake it as it is I dont Lord of the Rings worked. I think well Lord of the Rings worked because it was a much more earnest story Whereas Kyman as a concept is already so goofy Yeah that to do that earnestly almost feels like What are we talking about Wh? Are we crying over a la guy? Top you was thinking about them toys when he was writing. Yeah Ner merchandising. Oh first first he's gray and then he's white, so they gota buy two We got get hands. I don't know. Solling all those Radagas the Brown action figures, lotots of articulation Yeah, I almost think Would it have taken me out if they were so earnestly in the world and I'm like Th guys these guys are like robot, half robot, half medieval people. But I think like you like a like every movie makes its own rules, you know, and like what you accept as normal as an audience member depends so much on what the movie tells you as. Yeah. And so if the like Dungeons and Dragons is just like this is just this is just the world, you know, like this is all it is like You know, even if you're not super steeped in D and D, you just accept it as like a fantasy genre move You know, like and I think that's fair with Hean. they just did not trust the audience to to accept it on its own terms. And so they had to introduce Earth because they were like You simpletons could never wrap your head around how sickteria is. And it is, I mean, that interest sequence is fun and it's time interest sequence is great like fifteen minutes of like exposition at the time of the movie. You're just kind of like, okay They ended it with like a joke at the end.'s okay. well is this earnest? Like what are we doing? Like like a constant running gag in the movie is, hey, I named this character when I was ten. That's why the name is so dumb But if they had just been like this character's name is Fisto Yeah, and everyone been like, okay, great. what's a different joke we can make aside from that's a stupid name. Yeah. You know We would have accepted it. That's fair. We accept so much nonsense in our. Yeah That's fair. You know, like we all accepted Grogu. no one needed like fifteen minutes of, you know, Din Jaron being like, whoa, look at this wrinkled second shit D Jar. Now that's a name, but Groger. Yeah, yeah, you know Uh, I think you know what I think I've come around. I think the DN D movies in particular was really goofy, but also still lived in the world. Yeah It was not a character who was sucked into the game board from Earth and it's like, w? Yeah. You had characters in there being like, wait, you can do magic, you know? Yeah ye. But it was treated earnestly. O like the Paladin character, like he was clearly a goofy guy, but living in that world it's like But it's like all these they see Paladins every day and it's like they used to have to deal with it Yeah, Okaykay All right, two thumbs down now. You've converted video I work here as It's like one up, one down whereward. It's like. Yeah'm you keep backing out on it. And that could be studio. The good parts are super fun. Yeah, The good parts are super, super fun. Ultimately, it's I think it is like a fun ride Um and and I've been I'm repeating myself a lot, so I'm sorry, everybody, but Movies nowadays, I do think a lot of them prioritize vibes over just the narrative story. U because you can kind of write off of vibes And if you I think the human vibes are still ultimately there Uh, but it just You know what this movie would be great for You're in college You're having people over Everyone's hanging out, drinking, partying, whatever you're doing. The movie is on in the background. You get it. You might say Yeahah pop in whenever. Yeah, yeah, you could like watch it for like five minutes, then dip out and come back and be like, whoa, you know, like that's true. Perfect for that. Perfect for that. Yeah. And they do constantly remind you about how weird things are. so get caught up and what's going on Yeah, yeah. you could be playing fllip cup, that's ono the background. It'd be great. It'd be great. pase. U Okay, great. Let's We got Brian Rom Bergroom here. We've kind of been going for now h. Brian, is there any media you're watching? and we'll do this for YouTube, Brandon. But is there anything you've been watching, reading, consuming that we haven't gotten to today? This was another thing I did over the weekend, I forgot until this moment. There was this movie called Another World, which was a Hong Kong animated film that was released last year. and it was based on this Japanese novel about like U I've re an original novel, but it's the premise is a person, there's like a afterlife kind of Buddhist like reincarnation and about how There's human suffering and how that can like lead to feeling like resentment in your soul and how like to relieve that like over the lifetimes or whatever Um And I watched it because a friend of mine said like it was heat and I' like, Ohh I'm super excited You like the movie heat? No heat Oh I thought not L the movie heat I ask there's a high sequreence No, no. It's exactly good at the movie. No, like it's a heater. L it's really good.. I will say though, I still don't know how I feel about this movie because I think the craft is really good It's a beautifully animated film think the direction and all that Fantastic I've never been so locked in watching a movie because I didn't know what they were saying to me. I I can follow the plot points of what was going on But I'm like, what are you trying to tell me right now? Yeah. I have no idea And so I was just concentrating and it was so much that there were sad parts and like happy. And I was like, I cannot be immersed because I don't know why you're doing what you're doing Um Not to get like too spoilery, but it's kind of like Shira shows up to. Shira shows up and I'm like, whyy did you do that? I don't get it. don't understand Yeah. It would be like they they There's something there's to be said about human suffering and even through suffering, we can get through it. but then they make the decision to After they get through it, there's more suffering. and I'm like, so you telling me like there's no point or are you telling me that we should keep going anyway? I don't read any of that. but I'm like, I don't know if this is just like Hong Kong storytelling or if it's just me being confused So I ended up just leaving the movie beinging confused. Excellent Sometimes it is what it is Everybody should watch it. Oh You really could do well. Yeah, ye yeah Brandon, what about you? Is there anything you're consuming that we haven't gotten to that you're like, Yeahah, this is great. I mean, I you know, I'm l to the game but I love Spire Noir. I still I still haven't watched it Really great. I do recommend watching it in color. Like, I know Yeah They made it for black and white and I was switching back and forth Yeah and that was enjoyable, but it looks great in color. L and there's a lot of fun to it. And one of the best parts of watching it in color is like Spider Man's webs are like black and white in a fun way. They're kind of like grayish. It's very cool. distinct But like man, it is so much fun. especially if you've watched a lot of sppider stuff. It's like having like an old man be Spider Man, having a be Nick Cage who goes so hard And it's like doing these voices and doing all these physicalities. L he is so in it. And like one of my favorite comic book movies of all time is Dick Tracy. And this is basically be like Dick Tracy's Spider Man. Oh is. And they say fuck and these are shit. And it's just like one A lot of fun to be. And there's so many good actors that show up and great stuff. Yeah. I also watched on a plane, sorry, guys. Good luck, have fun, donon't die. Oh the Gorgeous So good. Yeah. Don't read anything about it Because it was not what I was expecting. Oh yeah. And it says some things that I'm like, this is nuts. Like it is great. Don't just watch Don't watch your trailer for it either And I think I saw a trailer, I'm like, this is not even what I was expecting from the trailering. Really great. highighly recommend it. And then I finally also watched the Running M and the rememake Oh yeah, yeah the. I still have a poster next to my desk of it from what it was your desk. Yeah. Yeah. How dar we took it over at. I'm taking this down. It's bizarre. It love Edgar Wright, but it it's like it has a little bit of Edgar Wright's. Yeah pastiche in it, but not enough of it. and it it was it's weird. Yeah, it's weird. Yeah, that was kind of when it came out, that was sort of like the buzz I heard when because I was so hyped because I love the old running man. The old rununning man is great. The Rning man. Yeah. Richard Dawson Y's a real world game show house playing the game show house And like everyone in it, like Cle D Comman Domingo is so good in it. Yeah. L Josh Bowlin's great, Glen How' great. Like everyone's having a fun time, but like s just some weird choices that it's like this needed more the gorite needed to be turned up on. Yeah. Yeah. and I was sad that it wasn't U yeah, my corner of the weekend is much more boring and sedate by comparison. I received in the mail and started reading two separate books on whales One wh country are the animal? country The country sir, please. I would Kernon. impmpressive. No, the animal. One is whales. One of them is called Whale Sounds by David Rothenberg and it's a republish of a book he didn't read a book about sounds. Well, so that's the thing about. Interesting. I released an album with the book in two thousand eight. And so each chapter also has an audio track you can go listen to. Okay. That's like, Hey, here's this guy playing literally bass clarinet and keyboard over like sperm whale click code. Oh he's doing like Yeah he's clearlyash upps with whales. Yes. And so the and then I jumped off this to a book about orcas because I finished a chapter about orrcas and was like, well now I want to read about orrcas and then a book I'd forgotten I ordered showed up. But There's a whole chapter where it's him going out into the water like I think in the Pacific Northwest with a guy whose whole thing is, I play music for whales. And the guy is such a grump in the book. He's just like, ah, these whales, you gott to play with groove. You gott to get reggae for the orcas, you know, like And they show a picture of this guy sitting in a boat with an electric mandolin and a mustache and like a beanie. Is you put a speaker in the water? Yeah, yeah, basically reverse hydrophones. Doesn't that like change the sound of the instrument? Yeah. know that's what the whales want They don't ask request the whales like They talk about it They talk about being like, yeah, like, you know, so I play this. I don't know if the whales are responding, but then they have this My hs No stuff. They have this sequence where this guy plays these like squeaky squaws on his clarinet and then like very shortly thereafter a specific orca in the area makes a noise it normally doesn't make and they're like okay, we think that Really, really fascinating even Even for me as a guy who reads a lot about whales, pretty niche And so the book the book Wild orrcas that I picked up I was like, okay, I'll go read this for a bit and come back to The whale clarinet. stopped one whale book to go to another whale book. Yeah That That's a box narrative there. Yeah, it really is. Yeah. But yeah, so yeah, that was that was my weekend. It was a lot of reading reading about whales and then playing video games, which is Pretty good we weekend. You should have played back on the I know Not a whale. Not a whale Dolphins, Dolphins are whales. It is a whale Yeah, dolphin is a whale? Yeah, is. Dolphins are odontices, which are the toothed whales like sperm whales and killer whales. And then the the baalleianoptera are the ones that filter feed. and then you got a subset of baleianopttera, the Rar quQalls, which are the ones that filter feed with the expanding pages in Yeah that's like Bue whales, Fin, whales, say whales, that sort of stuff Um Chat Is this too much? this good? I love it. They like not Another hour of whale. Honestly, Sarah Hachadoria my enemy s says Berg, tellell Brandon about your rage over the squirrel book. I read a book on squirrels I didn't like.
