More glassware because, well Things get rowdy a lot more brisket. and a lot less sleep The World Cup is a thirty nine day party, a bonanza of food and beverage consumption night and day And because this is the first men's World Cup on North American soil in thirty two years There was not much of a blueprint for what bars and restaurants should expect The global event features nine matches in DFW prompted many establishments to increase staffing and food and beverage orders, adjust menus, and reimagine decor Some establishments staffed up and stocked up and we're glad they did Others have found crowd size to be hard to predict on a night to night basis And still others say the assortment of popular outdoor watch parties, including the fan Festival at Fair Park, pulling away customers who otherwise would find their way into local bars to watch the games In O news, the Texas Education Agency is rolling out a new program that offers third graders who are struggling academically a way to get extra help Parent access to suppulemental supportus or PAS program offers four hundred dollars grants to third graders who did not pass the star reading exam Texas lawmakers created the program last year as a part of House Bill two The program launches this fall and is open to students in Texas public schools, including charter schools who scored did not meet grade level on the twenty twenty six star third grade reading test. Students who meet those criteria are eligible, even if they've moved on to fourth grade. students who scored approaches grade level do not qualify Parents can check their child's star scores at teexasassessment d. com d About twenty seven percent of third graders across the state did not meet grade level on this year's reading test parents will be able to use the money to pay for private literacy tutoring to help get their children up to grade level TEA officials plan to launch a marketplace of tutoring providers later on this year The application window opens this fall. Parents may create a pass portal account by going to pass. ta. teexas. gov Use that account to apply once the window opens Next up Summer vacation is flying by for Dallas students as parents prepare to send their children back to school.
