Hypocrisy in Law Enforcement and Protests

Happy birthday, America. Not so fast. America turned two hundred and fifty this weekend. Fireworks there were speeches. there were flags all over the capitol, porches all over the country. But the thing that caught most people's eye in the middle of all this several hundred masked men marching through the nation's capitol rightight near Trump's two hundred and fiftieth birthday, his personal birthday, not that he's two hundred and fifty, but close. callalling for a country built for white people only. W this. Today, an alarming scene unfolded in Capitol Hill this morning as hundreds of members O the white supremist group Patriot Front marched through DC. The group moved throughout neighborhoods in the district, wearing face coverings carrying American and Confederate flags And it caught many off guard. Our Sarah Robinson spoke with people who woke up to the march and say that they were shocked and unsettled by what they saw People living along Sixth Street near Ca Street say they woke up to the sound of hundreds of people marching past their homes. At first, they thought it was a parade, so they started taking photos. But their reaction quickly changed to shock and fear when they realized it was the group Patriot Front. way that way. ion is that's gross We don't need that today. Okay. All due respect to the residents. I mean, look at these guys Yeah, it's beyond gross, ma'am I understand, you know U these cowards, their're cowards is that's what they are because if they were actually proud of who they are and what they were doing. Why would they wear masks? I mean, these are the same people who during COVID said, masks we uncomfortable. We shouldn't have toar mask who wants to wear masks. And now they're wearing masks. Okay so that was in Capitol Hill Those folks woke up to the sound of drums. They said they thought it was a parade. It was not a parade. It was called Patriot front. There are reports that, you know, it was the proud boys, not the proud boys, but worse, I believe, if you can get worse. But they're all sort of on the same thing So they werere all in their outfits, you know you can see them in their outfits. They're khaki pants or navy shirts, or white masks and you know, the covering their faces. sunglasses on top of that, just to make sure that you can't see them because their moms must not be proud of them Or if their mothers are proud of them, then their moms are just as big a pieces of trash as they are So they are in the metro station. they came out. they traveled through the metro station. and they marched towards the Eastern market carrying these Confederate flags. and the American flags Some of them were turned upside down, chanting Reclaim America. Do we have any of the chanting that we can show? You can hear them chanting and playing the drums. Can we roll it? Let's see what they sound like S Okay So claiming saying reclaim America. like reclaim America for what? as they are again, losers. Look at them. Why don't they just wear hoods? just, you know That's what they are. calling for the removal of immigrants. Now These people, them and some of the MAa folks and proud boys. I don't think they understand that immigrants actually bring prosperity to America, that they contribute to society that are demonizing immigrants and making and criminalizing them is only a talking point for the far right Because there are far more immigrants, people who come into this country, immigrants, migrants, people claiming asylum, whatever it is, who are doing more good for the country than causing harm So let's just be clear about who these people are The annti Deamation League says that they are white supremacists The Southern Property Law Center calls them a hate group, Avi They came out of Charlottesville. Remember Charltesville, Jews will not replace us and the blood and soil crowd. Remember those They came out of Charlottesville out of that crowd that watch the in Drive his car into Heather Hire. rememember killing Heather Hyire, that young woman That's where this group was born And where Donald Trump said, there were very fine people on both sides and then went on to say he meant something else. And they're like, said, you know And I would imagine that they're terrible. I don't know, somethingomet like that Their own manifesto on their own website says that democracy has failed this country and that they need what they call a hard reset for the country I return to traditions of their forefathers Now what are those traditions of their forefathers be blyching? wouldould it be keeping people from being able to vote certain people like black people and women. I don't know. mean Maybe the women part, I'm not sure, but I know about the black people part They would like immigrants not to be able to vote The same people whose ancestors were immigrants. to this country. And so and they tell you exactly who those forefathers are. They said it's European settlers. European settlers are immigrants Not African Americans, because African Americans are not immigrants, obviously demographic here are the people who were brought here against their will, enslaved here It's not Latino Americans, and I'm sure I will bet you that there are some brown people among them because you know proximity to whiteness Not Asian Americans. Obviously not Native Americans who were here before any settler ever showed up and some Latino Americans were here, Mexican Americans were here before any settler ever showed up I keep saying I know it's a cliche. The border crossed Mexicans. They didn't cross the border So they said just them They They're claiming a country that's not even theirs. They weren't even here first. several hundred Grown men or several thousand grown men needed masks. Just to say that out loud Why don't you say with the full chest with the mask off Think about that, if you actually believe your cause was righteous, you wouldn't need a white cloth over your face like you wouldn't need a white hood over your head. You wouldn't need sunglasses any. matching caps so nobody can pick you out of a crowd people you work with or know or neighbors and your loved ones would not be embarrassed by you Men who believe in something Stand behind their name if you believe in it These men hid behind their fabric because they know exactly what they're selling and they know it doesn't survive daylight. It doesn't survive the smell test. doesn't pass a smell test with a face attached to it So This is the out of I don't know if it wass hundreds of thousands. you know, there are reports. I don't know how many of them. I know that these idiots were out there The number that should really bother you though is zero There's a single number for you, zero because there were zero arrests There were zero complaints filed Zero calls for assistance. Metro pololice put out a statement calling the whole thing First Amendment activity. S a hundred masked men marching through residential neighborhoods on their on the day that the country turned to two hundred and fifty. And law enforcement waved it through like, you know, them through like it was a farmer's market. Now I would imagine if this was what they thought was Antifa What they thought was Black Lives Matter Or the new Black Panthers. Imagine what would happen then This is what people who are unwilling to Tell the truth or saying about this like Benny Johnson who is saying and what's her name? Laura Ingram. Benny Johnson is saying that these were federal agents. He's saying the black lady talking about this. so there's a bllack lady that's in the middle of the picture she's kind of at the bottom. You can't really. Okaykay, see her. She's on the metro with all of these white supremacists Okay. so he's saying The black lady must feel extremely safe surrounded by dozens of federal agents Now unless he's saying Federal agents are racist, Nazi U Patriot front Bigots that work for the Trump administration. I don't know what his point is. because Let's just say that they are federal agents. That would mean that these are Donald Trump's federal agents And they said the same thing about january sixth. Oh my God, it was filled with these were FBI people, these were people that were hired, or it was Antifa when No federal agent Nor Antifa person was arrested amongst the crowd of people who were just picked up randomly by police and were found to be from you facial recognition or however they were found, turned out not to be a federal agent, an FBI agent, nor a member of Antipo, which is not really a membership, which is just people who feel like people who don't like fascism So What's the point? Laura Ingrhams saying the same thing. I don't understand Laur Ingrham's thing. I call fake more like Antifa in costume No one should be allowed to cover their faces. I agree on that part from Laura Ingram But I doubt that these are I will bet money that these are not AntIifa These are people who actually believe in what they say Patriot frront's own logo pulls from the same iconography as Mussolini's fascist partarty from the nineteen twenties and thirties not similar in spirit, they're similar in design or not just, I should say, similar in spirit, similar in design And that's not by accident A group that knows exactly what tradition it's borrowing from, dressed up in red and white and blue so it can walk down Pennsylvania Avenue without anybody stopping them That lady said look I'm not disagreeing with that lady. I think she said it best. She said it was gross just what these people think they're celebrating on the day that this whole country supposedly celebrates freedom everybody. Okay that's a good question. I don't know if it celebrates for its freedom for everybody I wonder if these same people though, by the way, who celebrated the fourth of July, actually celebrated Juneenth Well the thing about fourourth of July is that it's supposed to be about independence for all of us Even though it doesn't, the country hasn't necessarily lived up to that for everybody It's not independence for some of us, right And then subjugation for the rest. That's not what it's supposed to be about But that's what they I believe that's what they believe And the timing is not a coincidence either. It didn't happen quietly on some random Tuesday in February, although they are out there, they do March But this one is not random. They picked the biggest weekend. of the American calendar, the two hundred fiftieth birthday Donald Trump party part of the Donald Trump's big birthday partarty Every camera in the country pointed at Washington and they knew what they were doing So I don't think that's an accident either And I think we need to come to grips with what this country actually is. This country can be It's not binary It's not just one thing. It can be a bunch of things, many things at once. can be myriad things It can be these Racist, bigot Ididiots. That would like to a throwback to the past. Look at the nineteen twies. There was a big racist march in Washington, D.C. if you put that look yeah So if you look at that, how much has changed Boy, can you imagine Some of these people there celebrating whatever look. So look, you got the white hoods then and you got the white masks now So it can be that. and it can also be a country that is striving at least for some type of change, slow though it may be But these people were looking for the biggest stage possible to plant their flag literally right in front of the Capital So This group has marched before. more than once, Metro Police knows exactly who they are They know who's getting off that train at Union station and still no one stopped a single person. L you know, they violate anything? I don't know. thing is is what they say when people, especially people of color gather Or if they don't like it, people who are fighting against fascism, they'll say, they did not have a permanent Protest that you need a permit to protest or parade or any of those things. But they didn't get any of that. and they were public transportation going through residential neighborhoods While these guys are doing that, guess who was getting arrested though This man. who is brass in the Air Force walking up the Capitol Steps To tell the truth about this particular administration, he says, impeach, convict, and remove And there are plenty of reasons peach, convict and remove members of this administration start starting at the top Now, local police loocal authorities They chose not to arrest him not to charge him This administration is looking for what they can in the military as well. from someone who is exercising his First Amendment rights. Now I understand that there are different stipulations for people who are in uniform However all of these rules and laws are followed. They're not divvied out equally. So ask yourself some questions Why is it okay people wanting an ethno state to be treated like a walking tour Wow A member of the military or regular Americans get pepper sprayed zip tied for standing on a sidewalk with a cardboard sign That contrast should make you furious. It should make every single person watching this no matter what your politics are It should make you stop and ask who exactly gets protected in this country and why So I'm not telling you this is scary, I'm just telling you this so you can be aware of it They get to pick and choose who gets prosecuted. And who gets freedom to be able to Express their firstirst Amendment rights, freedom of speech and freedom of expression someomeone who wants whites only people who want a whites only version of America on the anniversary and then others who are saying, hey, this is my first Amendment right to be able to criticize my government which that is what patriotism is all about This should not go unchallenged Especially, especially C November As you get ready to go into the polling placeays come November of twenty twenty six and twenty twenty eight You should try to remember that. Now you should try. You should remember that because you need to show up And you need to stop arguing about the small things while they're doing the big terrible things in plain sight as well.
