And our big topic of discussion today is going to be something that's very pertinent to your lives and I'm talking about the Supreme Court and why It is important for you to get out and vote and also how this affects especially people of color that you cannot erase people of color from history and the present because the whole thing that happened at the Supreme Court today is as it relates to birthright citizenship startarted from the fourourteenth Amendment, which was about black people And also from the Dred Scott decision again about Back people. First though, and wait our guest coming up is going to be Ms Joy Reid of the Joy Reid Sh friend of the show and her own successful show, host of her own successful show. But first Let's get you to where it all happened today. and that is Washington, D.C. and our correspondent there is Daniel grimes, Daniel has' learing this Not only did you cover the breaking news with us today as we got breaking news and then had to unbreak the news with because of NPR, That was a bit of a debacle. But you have been speaking to lawmakers about the news of said breaking news that happened as you were standing front of the Supreme Court. What do you say? I' you hearing That's right Joh. I actually talked to law makers about the real breaking news, not the the faux breaking news with although again, everybody watch your breaking news alerts, expect that news to become real in the coming days probably But I do think that news is going to become real Yeah, I agree, I agree. Well I did chat with some lawmakers. I funnily enough, tried to chat with Miss Lauren Bobert, Colorado and she said, Oh, you seem so sweet. What's the DL stand for it? And I said, Don Lemmon. She goes, Oh, I thought you were nice. I said, we are nice. comeome on and chat with us. And she didn't want to do it. but then chat with some Republicans, Miss Nancy Mays, Well, let's go ahead and start with friend to the show, Ms. Komloger Dove, representative of Komloger Dove herer take about the Birthright citizenship case and a few of the other cases that dropped today The first question is about the president's birthright citizenship. He's not a fan, but the Supreme Court upheld the fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution. What are your thoughts? I love Katanji Brown Jackson's clap back. Clarence Thomas. So first people need to know that Clarence was actually seen walking the halls just the other day before this decision was released. He's never been here. So who was he talking to? probablyroably coavevetching about what he knew was going to go down. And then Katanji's lovely clap back, which is you claim to be blind every single time except when we were talking about birthright citizenship, which oh by the way, came into existence because of your black ass, your ancestors. And this is what we were fighting for. I grateful that the president is salty. I'm sorry, mother for using a curse word. I am glad that he is salty, and I am glad that the majority of these justices stood up for the Constitution, which seems like an oxymoron. Why should the justices have to uphold the Constitution And why wasn't it nine to zero? That's all I'm saying Agreed, John. And that was we got into that as well. And I mean, with a couple of other representatives, people just shocked that it wasn't a full nine to zero decision We can't get into the justices' minds, but you would think that this was clearly laid out in the fourteenth amendment. Kind of a shocker there, but alas. I also want to talk to someone on the opposite of the aisle. All right, who do you want to hear from? She didn't seem to like that, but you had to respect people. So yeah, And did do you mind going and playing that one with Miss Nancy Mace? laws that would prevent it. I mean, I think one of the things you can do, you can have like, I think children not within our borders, even within a certain mileage of it and come here there is birth tourisms I'm told where people will come here have babies and then go back. I don't know any other country in the world. Do you know any other country in the world that allows people to just come here, have babies and then just become citizens? Canada does. There's a fewre theyreatritain Great Britain I think there's a doz. I have seen there are hundreds of thousands little girls raped in Great Britain. It I wouldn't follow Great Britain's lead on this. And we got rid of the king when we created the United States of America I Wa, Pause that? What we got rid of the king Does she know who her hero is in the White House right now? She got we got rid of the king. What the fuck is she talking about Well Don, you know that she's not a fan of the president anymore. He didn't endorse her in the govern's race. She finished a dismal fifth so I don't know if she's still a fan of President Trump She's still kissing his butt. goo on, ro that's really the question idea about a constitutional amendment. Trump says that you don't need one, but members of Congress have introduced I've introduced constitional amendments I would support, but they're damn near impossible to get. It would take a hundred years to do that. But if there's a way that we can do it by law or by statute through both chambers, but good luck, we can't even get the saave America act We can't even ban non citizens from voting in our elections. On the subject of birthros, the Justice Department did say today that they're going to shift their efforts towards targeting so called birth throslections. Yeah, I think we've got to be on lockdown. I think we' got to bat in all the hatches. I think we need to use every military component available to us at our border to ensure people aren't coming. And if you're a pregnant woman, man, we should ban you from our borders What we have done to our country to tear the borders down, to allow non citizens whether we're appropriating congressional districts, whether we're not verifying citizens or voting in our elections, all this stuff is complete and utter bullshit. And nobody no other country in their right mind does what we do. And I just you gott to come here legally follow the laws.az You've also been a big voice here about transgender, the bathroom usage here on the hill What are your thoughts on the case Representative McBride, y, you banned her, but what are your thoughts on the transgender case? You know, we've seen there wasn't a full win for Trump. It said that he states he may ban, but they don't have to. So do you think they should go further? they may ban, but they don't have to. do you think that they should go further and saying they should ban? Oh, one hundred percent. I mean, what we've seen in these mentally ill take away the rights of real bonaf fide biological women. Women fought for hundreds of years. We've only had the right to vote for just over a hundred years. We still have a long way to go and I don't think mentally ill known should take those wins from women. So you. W she talking about the white men that voted against the right for women to be able to have bodily autonomy? Is that what she meant Well, Dawn, I'm not sure what she meant because she sure was not talking about the case that was decided today, which was about trans transgender youth in girls sports. So in education and an education environment. So dont I don't know. I mean, maybe she wasn't read up on the case. Oh my. o my. Yeah, you he her there. I'm just gonna say as a mom, as a parent I have One daughter and two sons And until my sons were teen eight, when you know, when they were twelve and under, They went in the bathroom with me They were I was never going to send them into a restroom, particularly one of them alone. Not because there were trans people people in there but because there are men in there. And they went in the ladies room the whole time they were little kids And I when I was pregnant, you know, pregnant women can't hold it. I walked right into the men's room. If I had to pee, I wasn't going to wait in that long line. I don't know what women do to have to stand in line for an hour to go pee And so I'm like, I'm coming to the man's room and I kept that practice going post. I will walk in a man's room and a heart because I'm like, it's a toilet There's nothing special in here that's not in a women's room. And when I got to pee I was at the theater one time, Donom, I'm not ashamed to ad it. I had to be real bad. It was an intermission. The ladady's line was long. I said, I'm sorry I gott to go into the women's room. One man stopped me One man stopped me. You' know what he said to, Don He said, Oh my God, I love you, canan we take a selfie? I said not in the bathroom, that been me. And then when I came out to his up I I get people. I get people in the bathroom too. you know guys have urinals and this one guy's like, oh my Godd, it's not lemon. He starts talking to me. I'm like, dud We're both standing here Can you wait until we Can we just get the business done? And then the other thing, I always said I I'm mad at the Democrats because I know people get mad when I'm like, I'm mad at the Democats for dot dot dot Democrats never one of the reasons we're still having this conversation, Democrats never answered the question. We if you weren't specifically watching those NFL games and those specific you know NHL games and stuff, you didn't see the ads that they were rinsing on the trans issue. It was their biggest ad spend on the MAGA side And Democrats have never answered it. And when they finally answered it, their answer was well, we should just stop talking about it Really? What do you gonna to Jjoy, this is so easily solvable for me, especially now every time I go to Europe, I happen to be in Europe now, I went to Can Lion and now on my way back And u They everybody goes into the same bathroom Except the stalls are different. It's like, okay, you can go in that stall, you go in that stall, you go in that stall. Everybody washes their hands for the most part in the same thing And no in you go to the same place to wash your hands But everybody just goes there's a stall. here's a stall, there's a stall there. You go in and you close the door And there are some places that have urals for men and those are behind like usually a barricet or the little Saloon doors. You know what I mean? You know the little sort of shutter door thoseose are behind. Women are standing there. A nobody trying to look at them, men going to the bathroom. It's just not a thing in Europe. but for some reason, I don't know why it's a thing in America. Why I know why it's a thing is because they want to make it a thing. or they're thinking about doing something weird with someone who's young. And by the way, as we talk about this, Who's doing the molesting in America m is mared for women. It is middle aged white men married to women women That's doing vast majority of it, Christian conservative men pastor men who are in the same family. Yes. And but they don't talk about that but for some reason. Trgender people have become the focus of their ire Pastters Uncles. Fathers, the vast majority are white. Christian rate Men. It's white Christian straight men That is the conservative and conservative. The right is riddled with child molestation and child predation.eff There are Jeffrey Epstein's in every town and city in America. What Jeffrey Epstein was doing And and I'm talking about the molestation of boys and girls is white, middle aged Christian conservative men Look it up. it's just a statistical fact. just the same way the vast majority of terrorism and domestic terrorist violence is right wing men between eighteen and forty. Every FBI statistic, going back to when I was in high school, you and I were in high school says the exact same thing. Look at the serial killers You can When we used to have FBI guys on when I was working at the artist formerly known as MSNBC, our profiler, when we would bring them on because there was a mass shooting, would say, highigh likelihood, it's a white male between eighteen and forty and it almost always was. This is they need to look in their Nancy Maceason needs to look in her own community. and start figuring out what's going on with the white straight, middle aged eighteen to forty something year old Christian white Cervative Right on And those are the I mean, that's the age range. I believe that's going if they're indeed going to this u to the state far in Washington DC. However, I'm wondering if it's I'm wondering if it's because U noobody's showing up is because they can't afford gas.'s because the economy is bad. I'm serious. and we're going to talk about that, but there is a problem. There's a problem economically in this country. Perhaps that's why they're not showing up to the great state fair. You can't get rid of it and then still say you're having a great American state fair. A state fair about what? The state the Confederate flag, which is what the North Carolina private entity, you know, put forward, a Cfeder you know, celebrating our enemy in the Civil War. This whole thing is pathetic but I'll say one last thing, Don You know who could afford to come to DC? Those people who paid a million dollars to go watch that UFC fight that tore up the lawn of the White House. They could afford it because those are wealthy affluent, almost all white men who were able to fly in and come and see people beat the crap out of each other and call Michelle Obama a man. That was packed But when it came time for the celebration of America through Trump's private entity that was supposed to be a celebration of Trump Even MGa isn't interested in that lame shit. He couldn't even get like five celebrities. Look at Obama. Obama, who ain't been president for a decade, was able to get every A list star in the world to come to Chicago to open his presidential library. Trump couldn't get nobody. Like Niicki Minaj didn't want to come and check or ask for him. Like what is happening? He couldn't get nobody to come and like do a firework thing or likeike, you know, like have a clown act or you know, do some somersaults or something What's happening Nikki must have been she didn't have a weeig that was Because that weeig last time was w was like I'm got to start USA do a voice do some voices and That' be crazy. But he did have some celebrities there. He had Dean Canain there and doctor Oz, both TV stars. Yeah, let's see There it is. And it's because there's tons of people here. It's a huge space, and it's just gonna to get more and more crowded as the week goes on.ot only do we have a lot of people here, we have people Joanna have, like Stacey Garrity and hope to be next governor of Pennsylvania. Where we? re. And it's because there's tons of people here. It's a huge space It just shows you that these people are brainwashed and that this is a cult because they're saying there's tons of people there How embarrassing. Seriously, how embarrassing for Dr. Oz and for Dean Kane Yeah. And for Fox, Fox is required to actually have their anchors posted up there. I don't know if any of the other networks did it. I'm surprised CBS didn't do it and they don't have know Tony D Kopel sitting there also faking. But the media feels like they have to pretend this is a thing You know, they have to pretend it's happening because they fear the retribution that Donald Trump will need out on them if they don't fake it. So Fox is They're like Baghdad Bob. They look like North Korean media faking it and pretending this thing is successful. and they know it's a flop. They know it's embarrassing. The whole world is watching Donald Trump fall in his face It's humiliating To be honest, the two hundred and fiftieth birthday only comes once is a landmark birthday for the United States. and our so called king is fully naked And it's gross But they had Maha food, they had make America healthy again food You don't believe me? Not to be a Debbie downer Corn doogs, Joo chicken on a stick, loaded mac and cheese, Chicago and New York style pizza, and cheesy fries with hatch queso That is all up I don't know if it's technically Maha Monday, but the state exhibits are more than worth the trip in and of itself. Some of the highlights that I got to see that I wrote down because I want I want everyone to know what's there. The train simulator at the Nebraska booth, wafflehouse hats at the Georgia booth, the orange Grove scent in the Florida booth that they piped in from the state These are just some of the great highlights that also just kind of show how quirky all of the American states are. And it just really goes to show that when you put all of those quirks and little flaws together, it really makes for an exceptional nation. So here's the thing, it is Maha Munday, but we have the freedom to eat what we want. That's true. Right. Okay. waffles and pancakes Yeah, I think, you know, talking about what Kayley's you know addressing here with the food is, you have to think that part of Maha is Being healthy some days and then having some diversity in your life others, right? I don't think it has to be always this very strict diet. I think it shows that we can focus on our health, but yet remember that these are the times we're supposed to celebrate. and when you're celebrating, go to the fair and have some fun food.
