You know, America we're going to talk about the racism that is Megan Kelly and Tom Emmer and horrific abysmal fare that they put on. But America just turned two hundred and fifty years old . Now I want you to look at what we what you got for your birthday. I don't know if you have Andy anything to show of this fair, but there was a broken ferris wheel on the National Mall, there empty bo oths, a Confederate flag on a monitor in the North Carolina pavilion . Look at this. It was, I mean, nobody showed up. The flag of people who fought a war to keep black people in chains. That was there at America's birthday party on federal land, steps from the Capitol , put up like it was, you know, something that it was nothing . And then they had to take it down because of the backlash . But the fact that nobody in that room flinched is just bizarre. It says everything about who threw this party and what they think America is. And look the lemonade , five dollars minute made in a plastic bottle, right? That kind of tells you what's going on here at America's summer fiftieth birthday. The greatest nation on earth could not get fresh squeezed lemonade on its own birthday . Everything Trump touches dies, as we know, the party, the peace deal, the pool, all of it. Tom Emmer , who is the third most powerful Republican in Congress, stood up, I want you to watch this as this bear was going on because this weekend was all about the bigots, all right , stood up at a faith and freedom coalition event and told Somali American citizens to go back where they came from. These are not immigrants, they're not undocumented people. They're citizens, people who are born here, people who have spent their entire lives here . Roll it. Guess what? There is nothing racist about calling out a criminal . So when I say that , it's time . It's time. I mean, this is what they do in the great state of Minnesota. You know, our culture, that Scandinavian culture, by the way, I better make it clear before I go any farther. Minnesota are there any here ? Ah, good. Then let me just say , okay, well Borne , you're wearing that hat. You must be from Northern Minnesota, the Iron Range. No , closer to Iowa. No, I'm going to leave that alone. The reason I bring it up is because I tell people regularly, Minnesota did not create passive aggressive behavior, but we did perfect it, okay? And I happen to be more on the aggressive aggressive side, which doesn't always work in Minnesota as Ralph will tell you. You know, sometimes Minnesotans are so afraid that you're going to call us a racist. You're going to call us an Islamophob. You're going to call us some name that we just don't want to get into that fight. You know what I would argue that I never did care , but I'm done being careful, even the least bit careful And I don't really care where you come from . But if you come to this great country , you have to understand you're coming here to be an American We celebrate everyone's culture. We're happy with that. As long as you are an American , celebrate your culture. I don't care. Italian, Polish you know, Somali , okay ? But they don't assimilate. And if they don't assimilate, then they should go the hell back to where they came from. Can you believe that bullshit? What does it mean to be an American Scandinavian culture? What is he talking about? Someone in the comments said blonde and white . This is just pure bigotry on display. And then, of course, are you guys going to be shocked by this? Elon Musk, the man who bought his way into the most powerful government on earth after running doze into the ground, ran to X within minutes and said that Emma was absolutely right . The third most powerful Republican in Congress told American citizens born in this country to leave the richest man on earth cheered him on . And then , of course , like clockwork, Meghan Kelly, it's all been the same thing, right? He did it first or she did it first or whatever. They're always following each other. Bigots are going to bigot. Racists are gonna racist . This man used to sit behind a cable news desk She used to call herself a journalist. Although I never thought she was a journalist. I'm a TV host and a partisan apparag . God on her podcast after the Supreme Court stripped protections from three hundred fifty thousand nations who have been here legally for fifteen years , people who contribute six billion dollars to this economy every single year who pay one and a half billion dollars in taxes who built lives here, raised American children here and she screamed at them to go back to fucking Haiti Rolla . And look, this has been going on for over a dozen years. Go home , get out. We know our country's better than yours. That's because we filled it with our work ethic and our culture and our values . You being here only dilutes it for us, those who built it and live it. And half of you people more than half of you won't assimilate . We don't want you. We don't care if you're offended. I'm just I'm thinking about our friends in Ohio who've been dealing with these TP S Haitians for years now who are drunk driving all over their towns and killing people. Like they don't want to live like Americans live And this was supposed to be a temporary it was supposed to be temporary help, and it's turned into another backdoor way of allowing someone permanent residency here and they take advantage of all of our public services and our Okay . I responded this weekend and we'll find it in just a moment and we'll play it for it. I forgot to ask the producers to get that . But I 'll play it in a minute, but those were her words recorded on a recorded podcast. It wasn't live. It wasn't like she just went off and said something that was crazy . She recorded it and then it was like, okay, put it out there with her name on it . And it was crazy. She kept going. There's more video of her . She said in that video, get out . We know our country is better than yours . That is because we filled it with our work ethic and our culture and our values . You being here only dilutes it for us . Those who built it and live it , being here only dilutes it for us . Huh ? I think you should be angry about that. Usually, as I said in my thing, I don't usually respond to Megan Kelly because I don't want to waste my time. She wants the clicks. It's obvious because this is you should be angry about it, but this time I had time for it because not only that her facts are wrong . But that is one of the most racist things said out loud by someone with a public platform in a very long time . And she said it with confidence, like it was obvious, like it was just common sense. Haitian immigrants, you should know though, contribute nearly six billion dollars to the United States economy. Every year they pay more than one and a half billion dollars in taxes. They are nurses and teachers and doctors and construction workers and small business owners. They came here after an earthquake in twenty ten killed that earthquake killed more than two hundred thousand people after decades of political instability and poverty that the United States played a direct role in creating. They came here because this country said that we will help you. We'll help you temporarily while things stabilize . Things never stabilized because they never do for Haiti , because every time Haiti gets close to standing up something knocks it back down, an earthquake, a hurricane, a political assassination, gang violence so severe that the United Nations had to intervene. And through all of it, Haitian immigrants in this country kept working, they kept paying taxes, they kept building lives. They kept raising American children. And Megan Kelly told them that their presence dilutes that. This is how I responded to her on social media when I saw it. You're so miserable, Megan. I usually don't like to spend my time responding to the crazy unhinged bigoted shit that you say because you just want the clicks when you are racist. And it's just not worth my time except for now. Your facts are wrong. Open a book. When you talk about who built this country, you know who really built this country? Enslaved black people, Mexicans who the border cross ed, they didn't cross the border and Native Americans for free . And telling people to go back because oh go back into a work ethic and went this is our country . Megan . How do you think your ancestors got here? How do you think the Kellys got here? They came over from Ireland . More than likely they were poor as shit. They came over looking for opportunity, seeking asylum from oppression, and they didn't call ahead and say they were coming. So stop telling people to go back to some place. Why don't you go back to Ireland? And why don't you get your facts straight? And while you're at it, stop being so racist. Open a book. She literally came on air as she explodes in hatred at the end and you look at her face in slow motion as it twists and it gets twirts and this is somebody who the culture holds is conventionally pretty . And you see that. And I focused on that. And then the second thing , I focused on, you know, Don, you're from Louisiana . Megan Kelly grew up in New York. She was born in Illinois . I'm from New Jersey . Are you kidding me ? She's she's of Italian and Irish ancestry . Unbelievable . And by the way , as we're approaching the two hundred fiftieth anniversary of the country and we talk about who built the country . We ought to talk about the city of Montreal , which is a great city and has a large Haitian population . But when you consider what she said in his totality, the point that you made is the correct one. You know, we entered the story of American life . You in the mid sixties, I came into the picture in nineteen seventy for a long season of progress in America . You didn't hear anybody talk the way that Megan Kelly talked , who wasn't in a parking lot somewhere or in some fucking field with a burning cross in Alabama . It is it is unbelievable that somebody with the size of her platform is fueling that viral racist crap and making millions doing it in twenty twenty six. It's unbelievable. And it needs to be condemned Godfrey. Yes. When you heard that, what did you think? Not surprised. Megan Kelly has said a lot of evil shit before and she just they let her do it, you know? So Trump came in and said, No more asylum. We're not doing that . And of course, this lawsuit resulted . So and by the way, thank God, conservatives are now the majority of the court. It's like the best court I've seen in my lifetime . So here's the thing which I alluded to, Steven and I want you to talk about because you alluded to a different part, but mine was more than likely her ancestors of someone or Irish people in general. You said she's of Italian and Irish ancestry came over during the potato famine were very poor, right? They were escaping persecution and discrimination and poverty in their country. And what that's asylum when you are seeking a better life and you don't want to have to go back. Now did they file for immigration papers on the way before they came over? Did they call ahead and said we're coming over here ? Or did they just show their fucking ass up Hell asleum or wherever and said okay, here we are, take us in and then we know that you know what happened to them after that they weren't even considered white but no she's a white lady. So donkeys , no Irish need apply. You know, you know, my mother's maiden name was Carol. My grandfather was Jimmy Carol. He drove a bus in Jersey City . And there's a lot of Irish in this country and very, very few if any arrived in any other hold on the ship but steerage . I lived out in Trucky, California for a couple years and I had a cabin and it looked out on Donner Lake and there were the rail tracks that the original Transcontinental Railroad came by. And And is Phil on this track , but I stared at it for years and never figured out how they got that done , other than to say the people who built this country as you, pointed out , were all of the people who at one time were rejected from the country . The Saviors of the country , if you were to bring it down to its most decisive moment were the men of the first Minnesota, many of whom were immigrants , Catholics who were not wanted in the country . If you look at the Washington monument , there is a line of discoloration on the marble and that signifies twenty five years where it sat there as a stump unfinish ed because the No Nothings , the anti immigrant American party upon a donation of marble by the Pope broke into the quarry at gunpoint , and stole the marble, threw it into the Potomac River or somewhere, the Pope Stone . People are still looking for it, actually. It's the thing in Washington. Where's the pope stone buried? And for twenty five years the construction of Washington Monument was shut down only until we get to the centennial of the country was there a political will that, hey, we got to finish this . And so when we talk about the nineteen twenties , you had an explosion of black progress . You had the Harlem Hellfighters returning from World War one that set off the Renaissance, the Harlem Renaissance , right? You have this coupled with the black great migration from the south to the north . And the responsiveness are these political statements of these Confederate statues Most every Confederate statue somewhere in this country was built in the nineteen twenties . And so what we are seeing is a backlash to progress that's not new in the story of America but falls outside of any of our lifetimes because the progress on a line was fairly uninterrupted over the course of our lifetime until it wasn't. And now we're dealing with this where this hate can just be spoken out loud with no repercussion , no societal condemnation. Like , you know, just making Kelly walking down the street as she gets to the end, you know, she almost like again , it's like she's about to have a sexual explosion where she's got her head tilted back and she's like it's like come on just say it say it , but you want to you want to say it, say it . Right? And that's and that's Megan and that's Megan Kelly, right? In this in this moment . Uh, Godfrey , Godfrey maybe you can say the word . Did you think that she wanted to say that ? Oh yeah , there's these exotic N words . They're eating the dogs . They're eating the dogs . She really wanted she wanted to say it. She's a it's one of the, you know, me. They looked like they were from India. They were white. At all, they're very Mediterranean. If you look at Italy on the map, Italy is close to Africa , you know, there's a reason why Sicilians had the darker look because of Hannibal and the Moors and all this other map. But yeah, as soon as they were told they were at a certain status, that's when they turned around and dogged black people because black people in America from redlining to segregation to Jim Crow have always been on the short end of the stick. So you know what I'm saying? I mean, you even got I mean, there's Asian immigrants that come in and all the other immigrants that come in and dog black people, especially Black Americans who actually made it possible for everybody to come to America to work and open businesses in black neighborhoods, you know? There's a There's a special on Netflix that somebody went back to Germany and interviewed all these surviving Hitler youth and Nazis you know that are in their eighties and nineties from that time in their life . And you expect going in because of the culture and how all of this is presented that there would be repentance and regret. And it's exactly the opposite . These were the best years of their lives looking back , right? And they're looking into the cameras with the piercing blue Aryan eyes singing the old torst Vessel song . So I think that we should appreciate that the progress we thought and there in arguably has been progress , great progress . We elected a black president almost twenty years ago , right? We have people from every race and ethnicity at the top levels of American of American life, but we also mistake quiet for peace too often . And there is something terrible that is bubbled up . And what's been released by these people as deadly as that boat pal cloud that killed ten thousand people over India back in the day when we were kids , right? I mean it's just a bunch of sugar coated bullshit. He's just, he's literally being racist but being passive aggressive. That's he said they're the best at passive aggressiveness. You've always had a chance to, you know what I mean? I mean you set the laws to make black people three, fifths human. What are you talking about? You know, so he was just it was just racist bullshit in Minnesota , but they'll do that, but let us Somali be a tall Somali be playing for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He'll be like, yo, did you see the guy? The guy scored thirty points yesterday . You know what I'm saying? So it's like we're only good for those certain accomplishments, but other than that it's just racist shit. He just said in a different way. That's all. Steve, you and I have been around for a while and we know racism exists in America. It never went away and you're right. We have made progress , but there seems to be a regression happening under the Trump MAGA administrations. And so I feel like Donald Trump , I think he is just a symptom of something that is wrong with America . But I also believe that he has become the imprimeter of people who feel emboldened like Megan Kelly and Tom Emmer to be able to say those words or to be able to at that fair that we had this weekend it's still going on someone you know, display a Confederate flag . Yeah It's really appalling . And when you look at Tom Emir is doing to the Somali community there. Let's use Italians as an example. You and I are old enough to remember Mario Cuomo speaking to the Democratic National Convention in nineteen eighty four , talking about what it meant to be an Italian American. You had Gerardine Ferraro, the first Italian American to be on a t icket as well as the first woman . This was an astonishing thing . And so Italians were suspect and Italians were called criminals, a criminal race because of the mafia . Now this is an important thing . Was every Italian in the country a criminal because there was a mafia ? Now could you look at the Ital ians standing in front of were the Italian Americans standing in front of John Gotti's Ravens Club and make a supposition? I think you could. They were likely to be in the mafia . But did that indict the nana of my friends who lived in the house in the neighborhood I grew up and didn't speak any English We've been having this debate fueled by Newt Gingrich about English is the official language of the United States. We're a country where every language of the world is spoken commonly every day. Makes us stronger , makes us more powerful and everybody who does anything here has to be able to speak English . And so people do assimilate and their kids assimilate . Did he go, I hope I'm going to get his name wrong. If you if you Google, I think his name is Katifrey Obamo , it's an Nigerian name . He's the colonel, the command ing officer of the seventy fifth Ranger Regiment. He's a Nigerian immigrant , right ? This is the greatest lie there is . And Trump has reintroduced it , and Meghan Kelly is an apostle for it. And now we have seventy percent of the country and we're mad at each other , but seventy percent of the country is against Trump . And we look at Trump . And those people that are for Trump have bought into a lie, which is that every failure in your life is someone else's fault. It's black guy's fault. There you go. It's the gospel of I'm gonna give you someone to look down on Lowe someone for you to look down. Gene Hackman explains this perfectly in Mississippi Bernard to the Willem Defoe character talking about his father who was a Mississippi dirt farmer living next to the black sharecropper . And this is America's chronic cancer . And we're seeing it now rise in virulence and form into a fever that does a lot of bad things . We can all laugh at it at some level because we know these people to large a deg ree , but this permeates down into the grammar schools where some kid has license to say to a little black kid or a little Asian kid or a little gay kid , right that they're less than right that they can be stepped on . And so this is a moment that requires I think every person who cares about liberty and freedom to know when it's compromised for anyone in this country . You have to step up and defend it. And specifically, what makes this country great in part is something Ronald Reagan understood and he talked about in his closing address , which is we could move to Italy or France or to Germany , but we could never become Italian or French or Germans . We could be citizens , but anybody on the instant that they raise their hand and swear an oath to the Constitution is fully American and as deeply American as a direct descendant of one of the people who came on the Mayflower or signed the Constitution . And that those people in this moment, there are seven hundred million Americans only ever that have been since the beginning of time. Half of us alive right now . They're going to carve the country's future, not Meghan Kelly , not these hateful people . But we are in a deep battle with them . And we are in the right and they are in the wrong and the right must prevail against the wrong. And we have to speak out against this. We have to condemn it. Whenever we see it and as often as we see it , Godfrey and Steve, I want to watch this. And are these are the people that we're in battle with? I'm not sure . But what happened on the mall this weekend and what's happening now I think is thoroughly embarrassing. Take a look Wait, let's see the long let's see the longer one. Brian Tyler Cohen said it's called America two hundred and fifty because two hundred and fifty people showed up . No, I thought it was I thought COVID came back . Wow . Guys, what happened? I think look, is this that people are just not interested in this? Are they becoming far less interested in maggiism and Donald Trump's bullshit? Is it no longer penetrating the way that it did? What is happening here ? And then let's not forget about that frickin' green algae pit that's there that he wanted blue for this. Yeah, I think it's people are finally realizing that their plan isn't working. It's starting to implode , you know, and that's a good sign because you know, going into an event you know, Donald would always brag about how many people came to his event compared to Obama compared to Biden, but this is at least letting them know because people are suffering, even these MAGA people. And you know, I'm online just like you're online all the time. I make a lot of content. And I've been watching a lot of MAGA people actually apologizing for voting for Trump. And they're just like, I can't I can't afford my Medicare, I can't afford my hey hey hey, I lost my EBT and my BET. You know what I'm saying? So it's like So, you know, and it's and I'm so happy no one showed up and the guy that's recording and he's trying to make it look like whoa, look at what we got here nothing but he 's it's a good sign. It's a good sign that things are crumbling from the inside. I love that. No one showed up. I want to see if you agree with that. I wonder if you agree with that Steven, I don't know if you saw Fox News and look we got here. This is a great thing. It's happening on the mall. I'm like, wait a minute, what the hell are they talking about? But do you think that this is a sign that people are sick of Trump's death for sure. Listen, like no one's coming, right? And sometimes you read about like, why aren't people marching on the streets? And you're like, because it's not nineteen sixty seven. Everybody can stay home and communicate with each other and be like, look that guy. Don't don't go to his thing and and people are not going . They're not showing up seventy per secentventy percent of the country is against all of this and but you also I feel very lucky in life and I know you guys are in this category too because we are all really well traveled in the United States , right? Like I've been to all fifty states. I've spent time in all fifty states and you're seeing all the coverage of all the people that are traveling around the country for the World Cup that are in the real America . And they're just having a blast . Yes. People in this country are funny , they're friendly . Generally speaking, they're decent . Our politics is broken profoundly . But you look on the mall, that's a symbol of our broken polit ics and people are just turning their backs on it and it's cheesy and it's small . But then you watch the experiences that these people are having right through the sporting event all over the country , the food, the people that's real . Yeah . And that's why Maga is not going to endure in the long run. And we're all going to live long enough if the actuaries are right. I promise you this, twenty years from now, we're going to look around. We're going to be like , how was Trump president's wife of no one we ever meet ever voted for him? Ever He's going to be walking through central Florida twenty years from now, right? Through these retirement, how about you ? Did you vote for him? Not me, not me. Who never heard of 'em? And that's the future . Sounds like Trump. That's the future of Maga, the great American coffee boy presidency. All the shit is getting scraped off the wall , right? All this stuff needs to get rebuilt. Any shit that he builds needs to get knocked down the plane right . So we're just going to have to step it up as a country come together to deal with the giant smoking pit the guy has left behind. But the country's gone through worse . But we should not ever forget the terribleness of these people like Meghan Kelly and Tom Hammer. Yeah in this, in this book but now Steve is like you were saying, the safety of of technology, that's just why Kevin Kelly talked so much shit. She's safe. But the folks who now and I wonder what their grandkids or their great grandkids feel like when they see this and I wonder if they're proud of it. They say, Hey, look, that's me spitting on the black kid and the young black girl. And I think that's going to be the same thing for some of the Maga folks and for Megan Kelly. No, no doubt. There are a lot of these people. I've actually read a lot about this with all these German war criminals and Nazis. Some of the worst offenders they chose, right? They're living descendants, that they would never have children, that they would extinct their bloodlines in some of the most extinct most extreme cases. But a lot of them just denied their parents names and their in their in their lineage, right? And you're Stephen Miller's grandkids are not going to claim him . They will deny him as one of the foremost forces of evil in the country. I mean, if you're, if you're like the daughter of the BTK killer , right? You obviously like have some therapeutic issues you got to work out, right? So if you're a kid of these people , you know by and large, you're going to have a lot of issues. You're going to be in therapy, right? You're going to probably change your name, but you're going to deny right your association with parents, with grandparent s, with family because those people are some like some of the most despicable people that have ever lived in the history of the United States. They are on par with the Timothy Mc Face they are on par with the worst of the worst. They they tried to overthrow the Constitution of the United States and are still engaged in the project of doing so . And when you look at James Tellerico this weekend, quoting Barbara Jordan, right? Great, great clip to share with your audience, Barbara Jordan, talking about her faith in thest Conitution being absolute, whole and complete , and that she will not sit back idly and watch it be demolished, destroyed, subverted by Richard Nixon. And so it has always been the case, whether it was Jefferson Davis , whether it was the Boons, whether it's the Klan, whether it is forces of oppression and repression, we have always been fighting with them. The Constitution has always been threatened by them. And we have to make an American stand this two hundred fiftieth year of our independence and take power back from the people who have aggregated it, collected it and have abused it to our great collective detriment . And now he's celebrating Pride again on the National Mall, the pride in this great nation and the pride of all of the millions of people who are there on the mall with you . Don, I'll have to say I saw the images from over the weekend. As you said, I was in New York, not here DC. So I'm like, oh my goodness, seem its like no one went to the America two hundred and fifty rally opening weekend, but today the crowds are actually pretty impressive. In fact, behind me, I've got all of my luggage here, so I'm gonna attempt to grab it and do a walk and talk with you. But bear with me because I've got a lot of stuff I'm grabbing. No, Daniel, you call that a big crowd. Come on, Daniel. Actually, okay, I'm gonna go. I will let you. And did they fix that damn janky ferris wheel 'cause that shit broke down? Oh, yes, no, it looks like it's moving. I think that's where the crowd that's where you'll have the biggest lines is over here by the ferris wheel. So I wanted to show you though why I started over here that you'll see each, state a booth . But because this was put on by Freedom two hundred fifty, the Donald Trump organization , not America two hundred fifty , this a lot of I believe ten states on decided not to do anything. They didn't send anybody, they didn't send anything . So then private organizations and private groups could come in and set up boots. That is why we saw North Carolina have that Confederate flag because a private group came in. North Carolina decided not to do anything because it was too expensive. A private group came in and put up a Confederate flash and they only took it down when there was backlash. What were they expecting? Just crazy. They didn't expect any backlash. That's the thing. And Daniel look, I, know you're talking about crowds. I've been to my own home state fair and there are more people than that. That looks like more porta potties than people. So I know you're trying to give them a little grace, but come on, come on, man. So I would come over here. I mean, I'm just saying there's bigger crowds than this weekend, but you're right. I mean , there's like five people there and now there's ten. Okay. Which I'm surprised by the fact that there's a bigger crowd on a Monday because you would think more people would come on a weekend day, but yeah, I mean, you're right . They're all taken off from work because they want to cut work and they're pretending that wait, can I say something else also really fun? There's some music here, that's country music. That folks didn't probably hear, but a little bit further back, they were playing It's Rain and Men and Give Me A Man after midnight. And I thought, did Donald Trump create curate this playlist? Because I know you saw what I think you posted what Gavin Newsom posted about Donald Trump. And I just thought, oh, what a perfect way to in pride Monk Dog. Daniel, we're ahead of the curve. And there were going to be do you remember the fail we all know about the failed concert? Well, there were going to be A list grammy award winning artists. There was going to be events every single day when this was a nonpartisan event and all of that was scrapped when Trump took it over because he wants to have his hand in everything.
