This is the cultural damage that Trump has done, that he has untethered these people and emboldened them to just be walking talking dicks. Like at the UFC , all racists there showing up to the White House. You don't always have to say explicit things about racism or mention race in order to be racist. Yes, Barack Obama is classy. Yes, Michelle Obama is classy. I wonder if they think that that is something that is foreign to black people. What these people fear so much is that black excellence will reveal their white mediocrity. That's not normal. You're a racist. They're all idiots. This is an idiotic movement of dip sh its. It's a really disgusting moral rot to observe. I don't wish illness on anyone, but I mean, there's certainly a lot of evidence that something is going on with Donald Trump. Trump gets everything he wants, and it's so frustrating to watch. This guy should be in the memory care wing of a military prison right now. Jen Welch, it's our time again. Whitney did, I think it was her last show with us and she had gone back on drugs. The first interview I did with her, when we gone behind stage and I asked her about her attention, she was clean , but the day she came to my show then to perform in front of the audience. She was not and she fell off of the stage . And knew that if that story got out that she'd fallen off of the stage that everybody would be that she would be destroy ed by that. And so even though the audience was there and the audience had cameras, I begged them not put those pictures out because it would ruin her life and they did not. And what about? That would not happen today. I could tell. Yeah. Okay, a couple of things there. And she's right. It would never happen in that day and time. But people are wondering why Oprah, even , they're denying the veracity of the story. First, the Houston has denied it. Pat Houston said that Whitney did have issues, but this was not related to it. And the internet and especially the community, black folks, whitney fans as well, of all different ethnicities are wondering, why Oprah shared that and was it necessary for her to share? What do you think? It's absolutely not necessary for her to share and it's hurtful. And here's why . All of us know people that struggle from addiction. You know my husband, he's in recovery , and every person that has had drug or alcohol problems are gonna have moments that they're not proud of. That's a symptom of the disease. Those of us that are , you know, that don't have addiction addiction problems , I just think that sometimes you have to let a sleeping dog lie . And if indeed Whitney Houston had struggled with addiction, which I think she did, it's a disease . And let's highlight in those moments amazing things that Whitney Houston did . I think a post mortem shaming of an addict's behavior without there being rock solid veracity as to what the cause was for the fallover is unnecessary and this is what keeps the whole idea of addiction. It keeps people ashamed. It keeps people ashamed of being an addict . And I don't I don't like her doing that. If when my husband passes, if people were to only talk about his moments when he was using, I think that would be very unfair to him. The Extate acknowledged Whitney's personal battles but drew a firm line saying and this I quote here it is inaccurate and unfair to attach that struggle to every performance or every chapter of her life. We owe her the dignity of telling the truth, not repeating this. So this is the thing for me . I wondered why if Oprah asked the people in the audience not to share the story or the photographs of whatever they had , why is she sharing it? Because you know, now I don't know, I don't know why she's sharing it. And this is not to criticize Oprah. I think Oprah obviously we all know Oprah is an icon. She's very accomplished, respect her. But in this particular story, this is a story that everyone is talking about. And Oprah also talks about stories that everyone is talking about , including Meghan Markle, when she did the big interview, I got the criticism about that. So she should know. So let me say I agree . I shouldn't say I agree. I want you to hear what Ricky Smiley says about this. He's a radio host and then we'll talk about it. Here it is. Okay I don't care if she was hired or not. Whitney Houston is dead and gone and passed away and Whitney Houston meant a lot to us . Whitney Houston was a big sister to a lot of us. I never met her personally or whatever, but I felt like she was a big sister to me . And she is pretty much Black America's aunto and everybody got a Whitney Houston in their family, somebody that they love that's talented, that's outspoken or whatever, but it's something about Whitney Houston's death . It's something about Whitney Houston that we took her death personally. It's like somebody in our family died . And it's hard for me to even make the live video because I get real emotional when it comes to Whitney Houston because Because we don't care about none of that. And that was something that we didn't need to know. We didn't ask for that information. We didn't need to know that information. We don't care And so look , I don't know if you remember Jen when Whitney Houston died. I how do I say this, I'm not patting myself on the back because it's true. I was the reporter. I broke the news on CNN. I went to LA to cover her death. I broke the stories about her behavior in the Beverly Hilton Hotel because I had a source who worked there. So I knew all the stories about Whitney Hughes and everything. I went to her funeral and covered her funeral for CNN. And he's right. This was something that was very emotional to not only to the Black community, but not only to the Black community, but to the world and Kevin Cosner and on and on. There are some things we just we don't care. I don't need to know that. We all know that Whitney had issues . But my timeline is filled with Whitney Houston singing songs the way that nobody else has sung them. And having addiction in my family as well and knowing people who suffer from addiction, I'm not going to shame them and I'm not going to tell the stories about the worst parts of their life. I just don't understand. Oprah usually operates from a place of light. So I don't know what's going on. Also, there are reports of people who are saying that Oprah and Gail are out of touch with the Black community. Look, I don't know if you can speak to that, but this does not help that. I can't speak to the Black experience, but I can speak to my observations that I was disappointed when I saw Gail and Oprah at Jeff Bezos' wedding. That was disappointing to me because this is a moment where we have to really be united , white people, black people, immigrant, all of us that are Americans . And Jeff Bezos is funding fascism. And this form of fascism has dismantled the Voting Rights Act . This is serious stuff. And so when people show start showing you who they are in this moment in Trump two point zero, resisting was easy in Trump one point zero was popular . But now this is where rubber hits the road. This is it. This is where you find out who are allies and who are not . And Oprah is an icon and she is a part of the whole American experience. And I have enjoyed her for so long , but I have been very disappointed not just in Oprah , but in other celebrities that have what I see Benthene to Trump or Trump sycophants or funders of fascism. And so obviously her telling the addiction thing, I feel like she has the emotional depth to atone for that and make that right because the sensitivity is that so many people with addiction feel so much shame. And I can't speak to the black experience, but I heard Mr. Smiley there and just how important these black icons were for the black were and are for the black community , especially I imagine during these times. And I love that everybody rides so hard in defending her. Like there's there is a little bit of that loyalty in the story that I that I really dig . Yeah . Thank you, Jen for that. Jen, by the way, this is Black Week on the program because now we're going to talk about Michelle Obama. Okay, so we all know about that knuckleheaded UFC fighter who said that Michelle Obama was a man. And we already know that Michelle Obama is not a man. She has two beautiful daughters . She is a beautiful woman. She has a very handsome and smart husband. Not only that, she is an Ivy League educated woman, a very accomplished woman, much more accomplished in this Josh Hocket who said that on the White House lawn . Let's play that moment and then we'll talk. And lastly , Mochelle Obama is a man . Am I right, America? That was a bone headed moment. This is what he is saying now about that moment after receiving such backlash, Rolaf. And then you dropped the Michelle Obama line sitting there thinking like, ah, why did we have to go there? You're not gonna fight on Michelle Obama. You thought I mean, I thought I was giving her a compliment. I don't think anyone viewed Michelle Obama being a man that's like she knows how to deal with adversity. You know, she knows how to work hard like a man. When the times get tough why does that come to mind in that moment? Like you just got this massive win of all the things you can say. I thought it was a perfect opportunity to show the world how great this country is with the freedom of speech. In other parts of the world, you say something like that and you die, you know? And I'm not suicidal by the way. There's a certain side that pokes at another side and there's no outrage there and I thought it was a perfect time to take a jab. Do you regret saying it? You'll never hear me backtrack from what I say . Jin , he meant it as a compliment? Is he out of his fucking mind? Why is he? That is it? I think that's as big an insult as the first one. And it's also an insult to our intelligence . Yes, he's an idiot. They're all idiots. This is an idiotic movement of dip shits that only know how to punch down . And what these people fear so much is that black excellence will reveal their white mediocrity. That's what they're so scared of. They're scared of seeing the excellence of Michelle Obama, who is a million times smarter than I am, a million times more ambitious, a million times more mature. She's just an incredible person . I'm not threatened by that. I applaud it. I want that highway cleared for other people from all different backgrounds to be able to ascend to that level of excellence . The thing that I will say about that is that this family is they're so used to people coming after them and they cover it with such dignity and class . And I'm glad that they did that. But the thing that gets me is that Barack Obama was on All The Smoke podcast and he was asked by the host of the podcast about, you know, things that people say about them, especially the Trump's att acking him and Donald Trump specifically. And he said I don't know if he said it didn't bother him, but he said that Donald Trump, he lives rent free in Donald Trump's head, but he has a sweet and Donald Trum p said, Okay, this is what he said. I'll let him I'll let him do it and then we'll talk. The thing about it is look, you got to ask him what it is that the obsession The obsession. I know what it is. Yeah. I obviously, you know, have a room in his head. Rent free. You do everything a suite in his in his head. But the thing about it is that was always clear to me. Look, first of all, when I was president , the last thing I had time to do was worry about what somebody said. Somebody said, Or what the predecessor did . They're gone. I've got work to do. You locked in. It's hard to describe how big if you're doing the job right . Every day you got five, ten things that are feel hard and you have to be constantly focused . The idea that I'd be worried about came before somebody who came before and me trying to measure, you know, like, what's he done today? Look constantly worrying about that is a strange thing to me. It shows me somebody who's not focused on the American people and the job they're supposed to do. Now the thing that gets me, Jen who saides,, Y Barack Obama is classy. Yes, Michelle Obama is classy. But I'm often surprised when people say, Oh my God, they handle it with such dignity and they 're so classy about it. And I wonder I wonder if they think that that is something that is foreign to black people is to have class and dignity. And I wrote about it. Why would they expect Black people not to be anything other than classy? I admire the Obamas , I mean to the heavens and back , but they're not the only classy black people in this country. Do you understand what I'm saying? It's almost kind of insulting me when I hear it. I know exactly what you're saying. It's a really good point . And I think a part of the white experience is that all especially where I grew up, all black people are a certain type of way , uncivilized, thugs, etc . So then if you meet a black person, not me, but I've experienced this in the culture of being rais ed in white culture in the Bible Bell. Like, well, yeah, I really like Don. He sure is articulate. Well, the majority of people that you would meet in these settings are articulate. So the majority of the people are decent and take the high road . But this , what do they call it the soft bigotry of low expectations ? Yeah , and I think that's what this is. Of course of course Barack Obama doesn't take this seriously , you know? The Daily Beast is reporting that , you know, the racist ape video and then the Jesus post that Trump posted ? Natalie Harp, the human printer did it. She's the one that put him up to him. She gets in his head, you need to post this, you need to post this. And then he said that Natalie Hart is the only one that loves him, told people this isn't that new book that came out, regime change , Natalie Hart tells Suzy Weiles and all of them, she's the only one that loves me as much as my wife and kids do. Well, I can imagine that's a pretty low bar. Well, if you remember, Jen where people were questioning their relationship because she's always around them, right ? And this is the one they call the human printer, correct ? Right ? Yep . And this is the one that would sleep like in the guest house or in some strange so she could be close to him ? Yes . And wasn't this the one? Was this the one where they said it was the intern was responsible for posting this on the internet. It's her. It's Natalie Hart per the Daily It's her So she knows like I guess she's some ways kind of a Trump whisperer, a fluffer e,go fluff er, not like a porn style fluffer, but an ego fluffer. But I think my larger point of this in linking it to the Obam a thing is racism is a part of a network of white people that do this shit in these white spaces. So it's Trump and probably Stephen Miller and Natalie Harpen like that's hilarious Barack and Michelle . And then it gets put in the All of America and people think it's disgusting, just like at the UFC , all racists there show ing up to the White House there like that. And that guy says that thing and then it gets nationally aired and yeah it's it's really appalling . Well Jen, it was mainly white. We had a correspondent there. We had the news girls were on and they were like, yeah, it's pretty white here. I mean, yes, there were people of all different ethnicities, but it was pretty white. And look, I don't know the UFC fighters what their ethnicities or racial backgrounds are because I'm not interested. I just don't like that kind of violent stuff . However, when he said that , I said, you know what, this is racist. And people said I heard and I heard others say that it was racist. And I heard and then others online saying, this is not racist. He never mentioned race at all. Well, the only two people he's called a man are Brittany Griner and Michelle Obama . And we know the undertones or the overtones that happens at the UFC. You don't always have to say explicit things about racism or mention race in order to be racist. This was sexist . This was in some ways, I believe, homophobic. And I believe it's racist as well, Jen. Here's the deal. People that say , Oh, that wasn't racist or I didn't mean it in a racist way or don't get me wrong. I'm not a racist . That's not normal. You're a racist. You don't have to put a caveat in it. Of course he meant it in the most racist way imaginable. Of course he meant it that, you know, to try to defeminize her. He wouldn't have he doesn't Melania is a tall woman. Nobody accuses her of being a man. Of course this is, rooted in racism. And then if it wasn't , I for sure believe it is now based on the fact that he's saying it wasn't because that's what you know, it's just like when you hear people say, well, I don't see color. Clearly you do because that's not a normal thing to say. Yeah, thank you for that. Because I want people to see color. I want to see how beautiful . I want you to see how beautiful color is black or white. And that complexion of yours infuriates me because you look gorgeous up against my pink background . The White House said, Absolutely not. But let's face it, Donald Trump isn't looking so good. I don't know if it is, but seventy nine year old very connected. He doesn't look great. He's falling asleep everywhere. He's getting confused. He's up ranting and raving in the middle of the night and posting hundreds of times. Something's going on with him. The ankles, the hands, the something's up . I wouldn't I would be like, oh, maybe it's not him. Until the White House said, absolutely not, that tells me, I think it's true. I mean , these people just emphatically lie . Like why not say, Oh no, it's not the president and we wish the company the best. Why not some professional response to that? But the fact that it's absolutely not , I think he could possibly be, but you know, this is this goes this is emblematic of what's happening everywhere. Trump gets everything he wants, and it's so frustrating to watch. This guy should be in the memory, care wing of a military prison right now. This erratic behavior of the president is very concerning . He has trouble staying awake at multiple White House events and cabinet meetings . He has clearly some weakness in one of his arms. He's got swelling in his hands and the White House needs to come clean. What we know is there's a report saying that one person in America got this special new drug . It was a seventy nine year old person who is very high profile, and this drug can only be given to someone under the compassionate use provision , meaning you do that if someone basically has a terminal illness. So we need to know did Donald Trump get this special drug from Eli Lily and did he get it under that provision? And if he did, why is that the case? Can you imagine Jennifer if Representative Ted Louis right . It would be crazy. And here's the thing too that pisses me off. He gets it because of compassionate use or something. I'm so tired of everybody being compassionate to him, the Supreme Court, the Republicans , the MAGA base. I mean, that guy deserves so much shit. Compassion is the very dead last thing he. But if he's right, the key word there is a terminal illness. So right now he's just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic because Dawn, biology is undefeated. Mother Nature is undefeated . Mother Nature is undefeated . Look, I don't wish illness on anyone, but I mean, there's certainly a lot of evidence that something is going on with Donald Trump. He keeps going to Walter Reed all the time and he's a whole getting battery of tests and he has a whole army of doctors. I think twenty two years a record for something is something is up. And now you have this report and people, hey, look, when you're not really transparent about the president's health condition, I know they say that they are, but they're not , then you need people to speculate, and that's what they're doing. So by the way, Jen, speaking of Donald Trump, Donal sod Trump took a little drive to the Capitol the other day, and he had lunch. And this lunch was supposed to be about the Save America Act, this Voter ID Act. Trump immediately they said hijacked the meeting and then went after four Republicans who voted for the Iran war powers resolution . I guess he ranted to them so strongly that they reversed it and they changed it in Donald Trump's favor . Bill Cassidy stood up and confronted Donald Trump. He said, You have not told the American people what's going on. It was supposed to be four weeks and now it has lasted four months, meaning the war . And then he went into it. Trump called Cassidy a lunatic. It was a showdown and they said Donald Trump was unhinged. So clearly something is going on with him. But then even after that, these fucking losers don't even stand up to him. They reverse their war powers thing. What is going on here? Something something crazy is happening . You know, I don't know what it is. You know, that's something I think that maybe it was Marco Rubio before he got sucked into the cult. He said, a lot of Republicans have Trump comes to power who went along with this. There's a direct quote somewhere of him. He said, are going to have to explain this forever. And Marco Rubio is going to be the first person I think needs to be asked that question because for my moral compass, I would think that somebody would have to have my children with a gun to their head in order for me to keep bending over for this morally debrave person. But I think it's just simpler than that. Broken people attract broken people, and Trump is so broken. The Republican Party are pathological liars with a default setting of racism and greed . And once you already start breaking to certain things , it's easy for Donald Trump to continue to break you. And I think he just goes in, starts throwing feces at the wall Trump, and they all cave to him . And it's really it's really disgusting. It's a really disgusting moral rot to observe. Yeah. Hey, Jen, I'm sure you saw the story and perhaps we talked about it again. We talked about so much, but do you remember the man who went after the man who went into the bath room because his girls had to go his saw that. So he took me to the woman's bathroom. Well he loses his real estate job after calling cops on debt in women's bathroom with his two girls. He's lost his job . I don't want anybody to lose their job in this environment, but damn it, I think he deserves it because he scared those little girls and he was acting like such a bumbleheaded dumbass bigot concerned about a man in the bathroom with his daughters , nobody else in the bathroom, but the man and his daughters, and he's concerned about that. Why are these people so concerned about which bathroom people can use? And why is the first thing that goes to this man's head through his head when he when this man is taking his daughters to the bathroom is something perhaps sex war untoward rather than he is going into the bathroom with his daughters so that they can take care of business and go back to whatever they were doing. I think this is this is why every time you get on the internet on Instagram or Twitter or some news story , it's constantly these middle aged white maga men that have a history online of posting about drag queens or indoctrinating the kids and these trans people or whacken wieners over here and doing all this crazy shit . Because they're thinking about this shit all the time. It's not normal. It would it's such an easy thing to walk in and go, oh, you're in here with your daughters. Well my mom and sister they need to come in next. I'll wait right here till y'all get out. It's just such an easy , gracious thing to do, but this is the cultural damage that Trump has done, that he has untethered these people and emboldened them to just be walking talking dicks all the time. And these people just they're just dicks for spite . And that's just insane because the guy he was browbeating like literally looked like he was Maggie. He had like a cross on his shirt, like, you know, like some mega chirt shir t, his little girls were just darling, and this is like clearly in some southern state. Just so it's so gross. I'm glad the guy lost his job. He deserved to lose his job, acting like an animal. Yeah, I was yeah, I would never, you know, I would never say that anyone should lose their job or be happy for it, but I think he should have lost his job because he is such a such a bumblefuck . But I know who does a great job and that is Jim Welsh and I love our time together. Even when I am working hard, I know it doesn't look like I'm working hard, but I'm actually working very hard . I have to show up for my Jin. I have to show up for you. Jen said, Don, you're going to be away. Why don't you just take some time off ? Do you think? I'm like, no, I got to have some time with my girl. He refused lemonheads. He was like, No, we will do it. We will meet every Friday as we do. And so I just love our time together. I love your backdrops. I mean, listen, I love seeing you out with and I love that Tim's at a party and you're bringing home the bacon. I love it. Let me tell you, I'm sitting in the middle of a thing where people are people are conducting business and having meetings all around me. And I'm going to break the fourth wall, whatever you call it. So I have like over here, that doesn't go that far . So over here, there's some stuff. There are people out in tents over there you can't see. And then there's a room where people come and meet and they have a little nosh over here. You can't see it doesn't go all the way around without but it's so gorgeous. We love the backdrop. It's so cool. Do you see that? Oh yeah. I have a little set up right in the corner and people are doing their thing.
