My sh was done too, there was some spectacular parking. Well done. I mean wow, other wor we workn' at a stop. How are you? good. It is so good to be home, isn't it? Absolutely. You know Valtterri Botas for me summed it up in the press conference earlier today said this is a festival. It's not a motor race and all of these wonderful people are joining us for the F one show tonight as well How lovely to see you. And Naomi he also said that the British fans welcome not just the British drivers, but all the drivers. There's just that welcoming sense Love hundred percent. I mean, it always is so special to come here every year. that mean, as Martin is rightfully saying, these fans are unlike any others. It's great for us as well, obbviously skky spports. For us it feels like a home race too and it's just great to see all of you. so hello everyone I Obviously it's really good to keep the fans on side, Marta. Would you say that the British Motorsport fans are the best fans in the world We have to, don't you Especially standing here, but yes, because you know I first came here in the nineteen sixties, believe it or not, standing at Cop's Corner with my uncle and it's always been the same They're well informed and they'll support all Formula One drivers, whether was Prost and Senna, as well as the Brits because they know what they're looking at and they know talent when they see it. and it's always been pretty spectacular Naomi, we do love to talk about the weather here in case you haven't noticed. That's actually beautiful, isn't it It is beautiful. I wouldn' jink it just yet though that's I don't know what it is about this place. It kind of has its own microclimate, but somehow every year it looks like it's going to be sunshine Deent weather and then somehow the rain always makes an appearance. So let's not get too excited yet, but it's all good for now, isn't it? It really is. We've got five British drivers on the group. We've got Ax Alban as well of course was born in London five and a hal a home rac as well. What are we expecting from the home support, but the British drivers as well? Well It's been so close this year, hasn't it? And if a team comes with a bit of an upgrade, they suddenly leap forward. It's been so close at the front of the grid I think you have to assume Mercedes starters favourite, but it's a spprint weekend. So that means just one practice session tomorrow morning and then they're in the competitive element of absolutely all the way home then, you know the sprint qual the sprint qualifying and then the race. It's relentless. so you need to turn up here with a pretty good idea of how your car iss going to handle. And Naomi, Barcelona podium bodes well for the fans behind us. Who, by the way, are cheering every time a runner crosses the line is brilliant. I think it will also might be to do with Lando and Oscar, who just behind as well who comt spoil it. I know don't spoil it, sorry I have. with Barcelona podium. Barcelonia. Yeah, obviously Barcelona Podium was an incredible one. I think if you were standing under the podium there and if you watched it at home, there was a lot of emotion around it And we had that here a couple of years ago as well. As Martin was saying, this season has been really exciting because with the ongoing development race we have, you just kind of never really know who it's going to be, but Lewis knows his way around the circuit. So let's keep our eyes peed to see how it goes I've given it away. Should we get the McLaren drivers out? Yeah. Here they are. The worldorld Champion Lando Noreres.. Jop Pastri. Bys re I got to turn around I got to face this way Face the cam way. Dando, let's start with you. How does it feel arriving here, having won the race last year and being a returning world champions It feels pretty damn good. feeles pretty dn good. U Now always a pleasure to come back here. It's my favorite race for the whole year by a mile. so excited. The weather is glorious. so everyone's in the shade, which is a shame I love it.'s best weekend of the year for me. The fans are by mile the best of the year as well. There you have it says all the right.ways ye always a pleasure and I'm looking forward to hopefully a good weekend. Just on those fans, Landa, you have possibly the biggest grandstand I've ever seen B bigger than it got y last year. I mean, it's even bigger than we thought. How does that feel? I mean to have all that support. Is that giving you extra energy this weekend? U off course. No, I mean, it's I'm surprised that many people like me to be honest, so's It's a great thing. It's always nice to see how much support we have as bricks, you know for five brritss on the grid and Formula one is an amazing thing U But I went over earlier to the Lander stand and it it's pretty it's pretty huge. I'm hoping that it's going to be so bright it distracts all the other drivers, including Oscar. And I'll be fine. but it's amazing. So it's nice to see how much support I've God, but also us as a team. Oscar, they say sizes and everything though Right you've got your own back in Melbourne. How do you think Do you feel like you got a bit of unfinished business after last year in the penalty? A little bit. I'm not sure I'm going to finish it this year with the car we've got, but we'll try our best. It's always a fun weekend here. It's one of my favourite tracks of the year and even though it's not my home crowd, it is an amazing crowd as well, I have to say Well, it's not your home crowd, Oscar, but it is the team's home crowd. So I know they say that home crowds are worth a couple of tents. Do that kind of then still count for you here I guess Wearn? I mean Yes, I'll go with that. Yeah. T it, take it, take it. I don't know. It's always fun here and yeah, there's always so much support for us. Admittedly there's a lot more philander than for me, but it would be weird if that wasn't the case. It's still so cool to see so much Papaya. I was going to say, have you not seen the color of Al te anyway, It's basically as bright as your yellow as well. So we're going to blind everyone else we're just accustomed to it. so it's good. Right. Well guys, best of luck for the weekend. As usual, when you come out here, you get a ridiculous task to do. and talking ridiculous, there's Debie Croft who's going to talk us Oh sorry, Kofi. who's going to talk you through it It's off you go boyys. So wonder with those teeth if you could actually pronounce it properly, but there you go. Lando, good evening. Nice to see you. Oscar, wonderful to see you.. We are testing tonight the power of the teammate, yeah. Ctely ut to mister Nomer in Formula onene. It's one for all and all for well each other to be honest tonight. and we are going to put you in a two seater cart One of you's got a steer One of you is going to do the throttle and the break. You can make your mind up as to whatever that one is. Meanwhile, my glamorous assistant, Mrter Ted Krabitz will tell you exactly what you've got to do on our course. Ted Os. Thank you very much, David, Yes, and Lando and Oscar. Your job today is to test your skill and dexterity about the width of every grid hatching. So you do a slalam down here It's eight meters in between the cones. to test your track limits ability, you turn right here, going out of track limits. We decide if you get a penalty or not, come back through the gates and then through the other gates, a little slalum across the line. You do that once, then you do it again and then you have to stop on the final finish line, that will be your final time Now of course you could, if you were naughty, go for a backwards run of the whole track in this go karts. But then of course you'd be disqualified. You'd have a lot of fun, but you might be disqualified. That's the rules. Who wants to steer? Wh wants to do the pedals idea what Ted was just saying so Basically Salom salum, salom round down and again But we're going to go through the through these gates and then we do it again. Yes, that's right. then we Yes, yeah. Okaykay. I think. Do you want to do the throttle and brake? do steering. Oscar's gonna to do a steering. you're gonna to doit a pedals, right, G in, G in quick. because otherwise we'll run out of time And we won't be able to see everyone else. So Oscar, you steer. We've got seatbelts if you want them as well guys. Lando, throttle, don't have to break ome'm trying to work this out in a strategic way R it's all very strategic, but can you get on with it? Are you ready? More or less, yes, Okay, right Are you ready Its lights out and away we go Ted is timing because Ted's got the digital watch. Oh one coode knocks over. Now we're gonna to go round T stle. That's very neat at the top there. Big round of applause. As I get out of the way Oh, I'm very late This is so much better than we saw in practice. And the two McLaren drivers working in tandem. C they stop on the line? It is a dash to the line. Yeah. So we knopped over one Code and nearly took our production manager out of the entire shot. but well done. George is okay.orry, sorry. It wassa. Oscar was driving. She doesn't mind, to be fair, she's had worse moments on' tor. You're meant to stop on the line. What happened we didn't hear that bit. What? T Hear that bit? I don't think anyone ever listens to Ted anyway, so it's right. It's a fair point. It's a good excuse. Ted, what's the time? It We'll see whether it's good. They did shorten the course. They did shorten the course, but it's thirty one point one six. thirty one six That is the time to beat, gentlemen. we thank you very much for your participation. Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris We have our cart back please. Well thankfully they are still smiling. I have no idea whether this is a competitive time because other they've gone. They have actually just disappeared down the track with the card They're getting back to the. they're using like one six. Welcome McLlared. Okay from Mclama of Monaco to the Rar of Silverston. He's one of the biggest stars of Formula onene and certainly has the biggest heart. It's Charlac Clire. Charles, what a pleasure it is to Hello. How are you Hi Great to have you back here in Silverston. How are you feeling ahead of the weekend? I'm feeling good, I'm feeling good. Obviously the last few races have been a bit more difficult for me, so a lot of hard work in the past few days to try and have finally a good weekend again. I do some good luck. I feel it, I feel it It's going to be dry and this circuit looks in the best condition ever. so you can really attack this place, can't you I mean, I love this track. Unfortunately on paper withoutpa unit, I'm not sure it's the most positive track for us, but it's one of my favorite race tracks. I'm really looking forward to be. to be on track on Friday. And why is that? Because a lot of the drivers do say that is it because the challenge Ohow, whoa We're surrounded. What is the challenge of driving this circuit? I think it's just a fact of going full commitment in all the high speed corners. That's what makes this track very special. love City trucks in general, but out of the city trucks this is one of my favorites. Do you like sprint weekends? You get one practice session, then it's just competitive sessions all the way. Yeah, I do it's nice. There's a bit more going on the Friday which normally' taking a long time before it's an important session. Now we go straight to it. So yeah, we'll be cool I need to get your take on British food what is your Understanding and enjoyment of great British food U I mean watch out. Don't put me on the spot. I went to an Indian restaurant yesterday in London is It was incredible. Jin Canad, do you know? Yeah Yes. Yeah. I'm pretty sure it is our national dish anyway. And it was incredible. So really I really like London. Then the food in itself, I still need to ye. You' tryed on curry for the weekend. E excellent. had Yorkshire pudding Yorkshire pudding and roast beef Beautiful. No, no. It wass time for that y. There's so many things they need to ye. Okay, we're going head you hand you over to Mrter Croft to talk you through the challenge ahead and actually I'm going to lend you My teammateam to be your teammate. see. Yeah, your teammate isn't here, so we've loaned you a teammate for this challenge. You get Martin Brundle, he either steers or he does the throttle. We've got a slalon course. so you go round the cones, round the outside, bomb down in between the gates, turn round at this end and do it all over again and then try and stop on the line. Do you want to steer or do you want to do the speed Whaty do you prefer, Martin? I had a little bit of a go so I know about the steering, so I think you're genius on the pedals. Are we going to cheat like the McLaren boys or are we going to do the full course? Never asked me before if you're going to cheat, you just do it, Martin. You're a racing driver. You don't have to ask. Howre we going to go r that cone and carry on and keep it the same? Do you trust Martin Brundle Of course I do. one hundred percent Excellent in Martin we trust right in you getet then lads. we're going to do this. Martin Brundel and Charles Lecler it is the duo Ferrari never knew they needed, ladies and gentlemen. Prancing horse Reunited and we're going time it. Ted Kravz has got the stopwatch thirty one point six seconds to beat. Its lights out and away we go. Right Martin bouncing to try and get more speed out of this one Now Oh going very wide at the top turn and in between the coastes. That's good. I need to get out of the way. Oh, on the limit of addition there. Martin Brundle turning back time, rolling back the ears, Chau leecler with a heavy foot backat to the floor. It's like a mosh per in the cockpit And that was a very, very nice way to do it. Put your hands together for Martin Brothother Charac Cler and you'vead all out.esome That is the best qualilap I've done in the last two races for sure. What to be fair, you went just about as close to the wall this time. You managed to survive. Ted Kravz, what was the time? It was beating the McLaren's twenty nine point eight four. So they've taken two seconds, nearly two seconds off Lando Morris And Oscar Piastri. Look at this S the prrinces As in Bndon S thear A As he was saying there crafty Rundal turn at back time and defeating the two McCareon boys. twenty nine eighty four it is the time to beat. Right next up together in a moment For Louis Hamilton. G good to see everyone. This never gets old seeing you guys here on a Thursday A lot of love and a lot of support, right, Lis around around here. The best, the best. Sitlstone's the best race fan What do you love about it more than anything Obviously, it's your home Grand Prix, but is it all about the fans, It's about the memories. What is it? It's the fans that make this space what it is. Yeah. O thousand percent I heard that this weekend we were gonna have the biggest turnout, right? That's right It sounds like it is record breaking numbers around here. Thank you. I know you're saying that the fans are worth a lot of love around here and I think it's shown in the history books. I mean, you've won so many times around here. Are done A' making it a tenth, man. I couldn' have done it that these guys. What about a tenth? What do you think Oh, it's been a crazy journey. I remember getting my first pole position here in two thousand seven. I don't know if any of you guys were here then But someh No that was a monumental moment for me. and And then two thousand eight with the first wind in the rain here And then just ever since then, just the support has got stronger and stronger and I think Nigel always say that when you're in your home crowd, you get extra speed. and I definitely believe that. It's all come from you guys 've been talkking about how magnificent they've been over the years hass been crowd surfing, but as I said, so many memories. If you' to pick one out, is there one in particular that you enjoy more than others No, everyone's been special in its own way. you know there's a different journey to each race and you're in a different place in your life every time. You know, definitely two thousand eight was very, very special. That's where I felt like the first connection with everybody Be I'd come through Abbeby and I could see everyone standing up when I made it through and most people weren't making it through most times. And then obviously twenty twenty four was probably the most special. So just to talk about the season so far, I mean I think a lot of people have been waiting to see you back on top and it feels good for a lot of us. And know we were talking just a minute ago about the feeling under the podium in Barcelona and how emotional it was. Just on that, it's been fascinating to see you battling your old team. What is that like? Is it bizarre? How does it feel No, not at all. I mean, I have so much love for Mercedes. I spent so long there. They supported me since I was thirteen So You know, that's my that's my old home. And so to see them succeed, only makes me happy. They're doing such an amazing job And they're real champions, as you can tell, out and out champions. so Um And I'm in a new place, a new environment and I'm working on bringing these guys to R to the front. So it was amazing to have that experience and to stand on the podium and watching Michael win those races those all the way back when I was younger and seeing the Ferrari crew like singing chanting the Italian National anthem and just see how passionate there are. I was just standing there again to see it It was as if I was watching it through TV as a kid, so it was really special. Two home races this year as well. I mean you be going a Mza as well, that's going to be incredible when you get that. You must be looking forward to that almost as much as this. I look forward to I can't say that I look forward to the the actual racing that we're having at the moment, notot some races is really good, but like for example here, we and in Monza Th those long straight, we don't have any battery power. So by the time you get to full throttle, a couple of seconds in The battery dies. So it changes this track, it changes Monzer Monz' is going to be a lot slower than it ever has been. and tomorrow I'm hoping that the wind pushes us down down these straights because with these rules, you know they're it's not meant for a track like this, unfortunately. But on the flip side, the positive side of things is Ferrari's been bringing a couple of upgrades and the correlation seems to be there. I mean, the performance seems again get better and better and you're putting pressure on those mers So Yes. you're feeling happ the last. The last race was really tough and you know, we were losing about I think it's like four tenens to lap just in the straight in the race. So That's hard to overcome through the corners, but the car is fantastic. We've really made progress. And the great thing is that they're constantly bring in upgrades. They're pushing so hard everyone back at the factory, which I'm really proud of And that's what I want to see. I just want to see us always just making incremental steps and we'll get to where we're planning to get at some stage Lewis, can you win the championship this year I mean, theres a lot of races ahead of us, Louis. There is a lot of races ahead, but I'm a realist as well. you know Mercedes have won pretty much everything at particularly the beginning very easily. Even when people brought upgrades, they still won and they didn't bring in upgrades. So I think they've got plenty left in the pocket. But there's lots of races, I think we'll be able to challenge them Whether or not we can compete with them at this current stage, We're pushing really hard to try and close that gap on the straightits. If we get to that point, if we had the same powers then, we would be obviously battling them every single weekend. So that's what we're working towards. But who wants an eight I tell you I wont stop til we get there. Draw a bit of inspiration from England and the World Cup as well? I mean, I don't need any inspiration, but this is enough inspiration for me, seeing you guys But we won yesterday. yesterday. I was watching. amazing, amazing, and I'm so, so happy. Celeste works for me. She wasn't too happy because that was her team.. Since then she's come up with some sort of nickname for me. I don't know why, but But be a good Oman on Sunday, win the British Grand Prix if you could and then they' want to do a rain dance, you know, Look at this amazing weather. We need some rain out here Could he do that for him guys He d Hell ds hard. Ladies and gentlemen, here he is he's second time worldld Champion looking for an eight. Lis Hamilton It's adoring and we're going to take a short break. When we come back, we are going to hear from the championship leaders. both of the Mercedes drivers who will be live with us on the grid Welcome back to Silverston. What a beautiful day here in the North Aamptonshire suunshine Martin Brundel alongside me. we've got two very special people to welcome out onto the grid. the youngest ever championship leader and the winner from last weekend It's Kimy Antonlli and George Russell I mean, this is some kind of buz, isn't it? Here you are at your home race, having just won a race. How you feeling? Yeah, thanks everybody for coming out. It's so awesome every Thursday here at Silverstone' the It's the best crowd we get every single year so yeah, real pleasure and just trying to go again this weekend trying to beat this guy is a bit quick at the moment. so yeah should be good. Well, you've been tenacious, haven't you? He seems quick in the second half of a stint, but you've been quick in qualifying and you've held on at the front of the Grand Prix, so I mean you're pulling everything out of the bag that you've got at the moment Yeah, for sure. given it everything right now and it's been it's been a tricky season. This car hasn't been so straightforward to understand. I think the years gone by I felt much more confident in getting assessu in the right place and that I could nail it week and week out whereas this year It's a bit more hit and miss, but I feel E single lap, every single race I'm doing is getting closer to where I need it. the other side of the garage is looking very competitive indeed, but also Lewis is looking pretty good after Barcelona. He has just spoken to us and suggested that this may not suit their car have you got one eye on the Ferrari Red. Yeah, I mean, Lewis has been really on it recently and it' really Cool to see and I think there's Fights from all angles at the moment, the max was too quick in Austrialia and then Lando' had some races. he's been strong and Lewis is really strong as well. so yeah it's going to forform all angles. So three hundred and seventy four points still available this year. You're forty behind, you're in second place. That's doable, isn't it? Yeah, for sure it's doable. You know, youve got to keep on pushing, keep the faith and Just keep getting those wins and that's what we'll be trying this weekend. Now before Kimmy joins us because I don't want to rub it in about the world. What are we doing here, by the way? with this two? just you wait and see, just you waiting and see Where did you watch the football last? I did Did you guys watch the football last night or Yeah I was qu I had sweaty armpits for quite a lot of it. It was yeah, it was tense I had to turn it off when they scored the goal. I couldn't bear it for fifteen minutes I did ye Yeah. I turned it back on again, thank. I was actually in my kids' prize giving. Don't tell anyone, but I watched it in the church on my phone. But they probably are watching, by the way, so they will probably find out. Kimmy, how are you I'm good. Hello everyone. Thanks for coming today. I'm very excited. Yeah, I bet you are. I mean you've always got such a lovely energy and you're enjoying such a thrilling season. Has it surpassed even your own expectations? Five wins already Yeah, I mean, it it's been a great start of the season but still a long way to go. George has been doing an incredible job, but yeah, we're got to try to keep our head down, but V very much looking forward to this weekend, even though it's not my home races probablyably one of the most special weekends of the year. The crowd is just amazing. The track is great as well. It's it's going to be pretty cool I love observing F one and F one drivers and I see you it clearly it seems like a second family to you. and I see you with the practical jokes That must be a great way to dump some of the pressure, yeah just to cope with so much pressure on a teenager's shoulders. Yeah for sure. it's good to have a laugh sometimes to do some jokes And the team seems to be enjoying as well. Of course, it' I'm not sure they're all living the cate. I know okay. But Yeah, I' just got to try to pick the right moment to do that of course, but it's good to you know just have a laugh sometime and to kind of also disconnect a little bit from what is going on. Every moment is a prank moment, but not this moment. This moment is a challenge moment. I'm going to send you over to Crofty to explain all. A Kidd me, George, comeome this way A few months ago, George and I tried this out on the magnificent c track Here at Silverstone, but it's a two seater Kimmy. One does the steering, one does the pedals. Are you up for some teammate harmony here I mean, we gotta be Yeah Are we competing against anyone else or are this like you're competing against Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri thirty one seconds, Charles Leclerc and Martin Brundle twenty nine seconds. Martin's fast. Martin is fast. twenty nine point eight four is the time he got a beat. George says he fans he's doing the steering. No, it's going pedals Are there any shortcuts available? There are no shortcuts available. You have to go round the cones and then round Ted Krabits through the gate, through the gate round the corner here. Are there any bonus points we run Ted overver or you get our love for eternity if you run Ted overver I think five seconds less at least Yeah. Okay, we'll take five seconds off your time and then you do it for not one but two laps ye. So you go round the codes here and then you've got to stop just be on the line. Can we do one practice lap? No, you cannot. Why'd you know, you're not doing a practice lap. You're gonna get in there. You're gonna do the steering. I warn you, George is a bit early on the brake, or at least he was when he did it with me because he didn't trust me. I' my steering. Where are you going? We're not ready yet You see, this is the trouble with Formula One drivers. They do it all their own way at all times.. Yeah, I see, That's what happens, boys. You co a cropper Right We're gonna move out the way. Now they've had their practice lap Yeah How many practice labs do you need? Because I don't think we've got a time on this. Ted doesn't look like he's timing it. Well, it's only practice. That's a sweet practice one, Crofty. Come on, line them up. It's the only practice, right? Okay, stop. line them up Hright, that was two practice laps, yeah? So that was be official, right? Yeah That wasn't official. You're going have to do it again. Oh hang on Stuart say that might be official and we might have a time on it because we told you no practice laps and you went and did it anyway, George, you've got to respect the rules, ye? You got to respect the rules. What can we say? We were playing a little bit there. We were playing a bit. We messed up the hair f That wasn't serious. But if you want to what was the upsime We got right. I tell you what I'm just going to check with the Stewards. Have we got time for them to do it again because thirty six seconds was rubbish? Yes. Yes. we've got time to do it again. pull up to the line Well, okay, we'll move the cones. donon't worry. You get to the line Ted' move the cones George Russell, the bossiest driver on the grid. Without doubt. Ted's move the cone. Are you ready? Do Hang on, wait a second, wait a second. He does' an illegal practice, then he complains about the cone. Firstap like tip Martin Rynd. And then stop there. R. George Kimmy, we've got toa be quick. George, Kimmy Bys, boys, stop talking, Stop driving. lights out away we go Hessly Allright yeah that code didn't exist. that code didn't exist. That was a better turn. And now let's see if they can get on the power Remember once driving with the steering, once driving with the pedals And his Kantu se makes work together in sweet harmony. Right. Sheer them all the way to the line. Russell out to Gelly I'll give him ten out of ten for the finish. That was fantastic. Our school's on the doors, Ted Cravz. Unofficially, I think we have a new leader, David Croft. Unofficially we have twenty eight point four eight seconds. twenty eight point four. I think officially that's going to twenty eight point nine, but that's still quicker and as still our new leaders, George Russell and Kimmy Antonlla. of applause please Next up is the Alpine Bys It's the Killian and Ba Combo here. he's in Argentina. I mean, this is what it's all about. M M and are doing a bit of teus now. Yeah, exactly. We've never seen that before. Who is Aic Kane? Wh is Ariicane favorite here? Aricane was George. his I mean, George has a little hurricane insider little Harricane. I think's enjoying listen to that just back there. Exactly.' be just as popular as Harricane after that lap, they lead the way. Did you watch that, by the way? Are you now motivated to be they who arem know? What was the track? I'm confused with the track? I think we're all confused about the track, frankly.'s somethinghing to do with those cones, but we'll come on to It feels like every time we get drivers in the cars they just make it up, so feel free to be creative Tell us about the season so far, guys, a lot better than last year A lot better than last year, that's for sure. I think it's been overall like a positive start for us. We managed to score quite a few points. we had The Monaco race with the podium, I actually just received the cap today so like a few hours ago, which yeah. I I didn't get to see to feel like what's the podiums like that What did we do to make you feel that guys? If you would have been in Monaco Could you give Pier Gasly a chair for his first podium in Monaco, please Thank you Thank you very much. That's how it feels. That's how it feels. Franka for yourself as well, you know you've had a couple of your best results so far this year. It must be feeling good now to be a Formula onene driver of it, although you need to get to the start of the grid this year. didn't have the last time, did it? Beyond the formation. It's true Yeah, yeah. We are looking forward to better Silwon this year. It's been an eventful one last year, last season Yeah, this year is doing a lot better. The car has been feeling very good and we are bringing upgrades, you know we brought some to Austria We are understanding how they work a bit better. so hopefully here we can do another step and score some more points. Besides what just happened in Silverstone here last year, last year was a much harder year for you guys at Alpin obviously this year, things are much better. You're fighting at the top of the middfield at the moment. Does that add any extra pressure? the fact that you guys are really fighting for those last points? It really like Either it goes completely right or you go home with sort of kind of nothing. How does that feel I would say it adds more fun to it, that's for sure. Last year year was pretty long and it's always like for everyone in the team disappointing when you put so much effort into it and you don't really get a shot to you know fight for the points. And at least this year it feels that you know we get a bit more rewards. Obviously we like to We Join the pack at the front with the fourall teams, start of the year were not too far, but a few battles with Max and sometimes like a few ls with the McLon. And recently they've made another step forward. So yeah, we got to work. att the end of the day, weve got to work, Hopefully we still aedge the midfield and hopefully we can slowly get closer to the top here. is that the target in front of the midfield Best outside the top four is that what Flav said? Is that what everyone I think is to be fighting the top teams and that's what we are focusing on. We are not happy with being fighting the championship. We want more and we are working for more. But it's a reality that last year we were P then and this year we are much farther up forward and we are fighting for Q three and points we raise which It's a much other place and it's the place where we need to start with. and then of course In the future, we want more and that's what we are focusing on, of course What would a good weekend here look like for you if you had to decide now? What are you you want to go to Fantastic. Wh you can't wait to see it. Okay, well you could be P one P two in a moment, right? becausecause you've still got this competition ahead of you, which is the most important race of the weekend. Okay, whoo wants to the fastest love for now? It is Kimmy and George A last attempt. That was the last attempt they did Yeah. Okay well to them Everybody did do that cut. so that kind of You kind of have to that That's the standard. Okay yeah, that's the standard we can do work basasically. That's what she's saying we can just even. Did you put more power to them or somethingbodyact If you want you just turn it up here I think, and then you should be fine. Crofty. Do you want to explain what's going on here? Right. Stop nameame Sif, Simon Lazemy, stop getting our drivers to cheat and be creative. Ted Kravz has the rules. Listen, gentlemen, this is what you need to do Thank you, Crofty. Just a little slalam in here. justust come out here, set track limits, double back on yourself. It's two laps and then across the line and stop on the line. However, of course, being working for a French team Crofty, they might want some sort of gallic Drive in the countryside, there's nothing to say they actually have to do the race. They could go and drive the whole track backwards in a go carart if they wanted. Pier Franco? Franco just said he couldn't hear a thing there, so we'll explain. Ted said upp, round, down, around, down and do it twice. Who wants to do the steering? You're going to do the steering? do the pedals You'll do the pedals Franco do the steering Now you've got two steering No you don't both do the steering. One does the pedals, right, O does the steering. So pedals, Pierre, steering Franco. this is a test of how you two work together in sweet harmony, right? You're going to go slal and round, slal round, round the outside, through the gates down and then swing round and do it all over again and try and beat twenty eight point nine two seconds. Are you ready Brian. Franco Focus Famos, he says, Famos. let's out away we go Right Already Franco has decided the best way to do this is to go straight at the code rather than try to go round the code. That's four codes he's hit first lap. Andddie's taken a shortcut and if this isn't the fastest lap, I'd be absolutely amazed. But at no stage has he stuck to the line whatsoever Ladies and gentlemen, been T. Right R Colorino, come here. You're in trouble. with're the Stewards. The Stewards say, right, we put these cones out and what? You can move the cones a little bit. You didn't move the cones a little bit but you drove straight at them, my friend. Itss o It's okay. You've got a five second penalty five seconds be one. I saw They were P one Craf. would have been P one would have a five second penalty. Ted, what's the time? They would have been P one with a one with a twenty seven point zero two. So you had you had and it's five second It's a thirty two point three two, but they would have been P one with with five seconds, you're thirty two That is not the fastest time twenty eight. twenty eight. Yeah. We We. Right. We'll argue this one for a while. Join us in the Steward's room in about five minutes, Simon What's going on? Well, Franco and Pierre don't like the penalty. Okay. I mean, if they were to try it again breaking their camera I've got a to the moment. Yeah, have another go lads. It's a free fallound here. Unfortunately. fiveive seconds, I think is a bit too much as a penalty. We didn't discuss this before the start of the program, but there we go. Gazlia Coloreto at the bottom of the leaderboard. It would have been the top of the leaderboard. By my calculations, twenty seven thirty two. veryery good at mass strong point. There we go, George, signing a few autographs for the adoring fans. When we come back first teenager to take part in the British Grand Pe, Avid Limbad Hi there, I'm Pete Graves and while you're enjoying this show, I just wanted to let you know that we are back with another round of Tfer talkal. where we'll be talking about who's on the move, where they're going, what they could bring to your teams. So if you don't already, please like and subscribe. You can watch Free your Sky TV on YouTube or wherever you get your podcast. See you soon our teams take part in our challenge It's time to bring another one out, isn't it? Okay, he's fast, he's young. He's a rookie having fun. It's Avid Lin Blad. Welcome to the Grid. How are you?. Good. How are you? I mean this is incredible. Yeah first British Grand Frix week.. It's very cool. yeah I remember thirteen years ago when I was sitting in Maggots and Beckets as a five year old. badgering my dad with questions, asking him if I could be here one day and here I am. So it's it's very, very That's amazing. And it's all represented on your helmet this weekend. Tell us about that Yes, I've got a special helmet this weekend that's really likeike a map of my journey to this point. As I've sort of said before, I believe when I was five I could be in Formula one So I've I wanted it to almost be like my five year old self envisioning the journey. So all the sketches are very childlike It's got the dream big on it and yeah, it's very cool. Beautiful. So you had that long lead in and it was well structured. I must say, watching you arrive in Formula O, you look so comfortable from the get go. like you feel at home, you look at home in this business of ours. Even in these interviews, just took it all in this ride. Yeah, I don't know I think, you know, Rebel have obviously helped me a lot you know to prepare me for this moment Yeah, I don't know. I've just tried to focus on myself, stay in the present and like you said, take it in my stride, foocus on the important part, which is the driving and it's gone pretty well so far. Well it really has four points finishes If you could pick out a highlight so far, deffinitely Melbourne. Definitely Melbourne. That was Very, very special What a way to announce yourself on the formula one No, I know I mean it was pretty nuts, even for myself, even now thinking back on it, you know, to be running P three at one point on that one is is pretty pretty pretty amazing. but I'm hoping that this weekend we'll top that and this will be the best moment. Yeah. I agree with you on that. That was one of the toughest as a driver commentating on that. I was so pleased I wasn't in that race It was treacherous, wasn't it? So hard to keep the car on the road. Much like our challenge today Do you know what you're about to get into? I've heard I'm getting into a cart And you're going to do so with our teammate, Naomi Schiff. Right. I'll let you decide When Crafty tells you the rules Who does the steering and who does the pedals? Okay. So please sound dangerous. He on over. Ohvid come this way. Thank you very much, Natalie. Great to see you, buddy. Welcome. We're really well, thanks. Naomi's already decided what's going on. You're going to do the throttle and the brake and Naomi's going to steer. Why is that? Well you're more than welcome to decide that you want to do the opposite, but I tend to think you have way more control with the pedals than you do with stay flat then we're both going to crash. Well, exactly, that's why it's up to you to decide whether we're stopping or going would ye well I mean, to be honest, it would look absolutely spectacular if you spun round in a cloud of smoke, but try not to crash. We want you on the track in an F one car. Do you want to get in, sir? A ready? I've made myself as aerodynamic as possible. Here you go, Krafty. Also Naomi knows exactly what the course is all about and we don't have to explain it to you. So we have a quick debrief Naomi Schiff, by the way, last time we went go kartating was the fastest member of our skky Sports F one team. That's why she's in the car now with Avid Limblad She's telling him exactly how this is going to go. Because it's not team where we're going to do it no's way, right Are we ready? Right. A if it doesn't look too worried, this is gonna be fun. It's lights out and away we go Right, Naomi Siff, steering. I in liim lads, not even touching the brake pedal, but touching three cones as we go to the end there and now foot flat to the floor. Here we go. Make yourself aerodynamic. that is a very nice turn into the hairpin. The cones have been shifted a little bit the slideum is slightly easier, but Naomi still wants to lock these cones out of the way and now it is a charge all the way to the line. Look at that for aerodynamics Let's see where they're going. That was mega. Very impressive indeed. Right. Ted Krabbit, schools on the doors, please. Thank you very much Krofty. That was a great effort. I've got that unofficially as second place behind the Mercedes guys. Second place We've got thirty one point four eight, including the penalties. I'm not sure about that, Crofty. I'm going to give them still twenty nine twenty nine seconds without penalties. Fine. thirty' say he's got to have four laps, right? That's true. Let's not forget you were meant to go round the codes. Did you not listen to that round the codes They're all still there. D didn't h any Jones. You shunted one all We the corner. New architecture. Either way, Arvid said second, first of the losers. That's not how we view this tonight. We say silver medal My Siff and Avid Limlads oK, this is how I finished then. confonfirmation ladies and gentlemen in under standard and if you did know already, Lim Bradenschiff down there after those harsh penalties d.. may get settled in the plough pub a little bit later between him, the stewards and yourselves, but good effort. Are you proud of yourself? confused about why we got penalties Pretty much everybody cut the course. It's going related. As her driver manager, I'm going to contest this The Stewards push for an appeal. What do you reckon, Martin? I was surprised you got a penalty for I'm you did. Otherwise you'd have been faster than me, so I'll go with it in the steward's room We're too competitive with. fun. This is quite bit a racing we get these days, so this really can't' so feisty out there. I love it. Should we finish up? let's talk about the weekend Can anyone beat the Mercedes booys? They'll be quick around here. They'll be really good. We'll see what McLaren can bring to the party, Ferrari, we know, are much faster. And Red Bull looked so good as well, didn't they last weekend in Austria. So I'm still and remember they only get one practice session. so it's get on the track and get on with it and then it's bang. it's spprint qualifying. It's sprint It's qualifying and then the Grand Prix on Sunday. So We'll find out, and I think it's going to be pretty relentless Well if it's anything like this racing we're going to get some entertaining stuff. But as we've said already, a few times with the drivers we spoke to today, it's so exciting around here. It always delivers such great racing. It's a sprint weekend as well. plenty ofion love a sprint weekend. It's action packed from start to finish. Giving the fans what they want iven us what we want tonight. They're brilliant. They are brilliant. Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen. Enjoy the weekend. It's been a pleasure as always out here on the grid. As I said, we're looking forward to all of this. Martin is talking about spprint weekend, loveove the British Grand Prix. Let's see what happens when we get underway tomorrow from us all here. Bye bye
