This is the Fantasy foootball podcast. It is me Joe Pes up here with me, of course is Scott Bogman and Pat Fitz Morris. And today we're going to discuss some risky players now. Sometimes there's guys you want to take the risk with, sometometimes there's players you want to avoid. So we're gonna talk about some controversial names That could potentially ruin all the good work that you've done in all your drafts. makeake sure you subscribe to this channel so you can do the good work in the drafts first though and foremost, ring the bell to let those d so you never miss a piece of content here, like this video. And of course, comment below. We've always got fun stuff going on here on the shows. Gentlemen,'s great to see you as always when we talk about some of the risky players again sometimes There's good risk, sometimes there's bad risk and we're going to talk about what the difference is and some of these landmines we want to avoid this year in fantasy football. Scott Bagman, let's start with you. Let's talk about Ken Walker and Rushy Rice. two guys, same team, both potential landmines. One potentially from a usage standpoint of Ken Walker who when he gets used too much has shown that sometimes he can break down on the side of the road and then Rushy Rice, who sometimes gets pulled over to the side of the road the side of the road. But let's talk about these two guys and some of the issues that they might be facing in twenty twenty six. I gott to tell you in the middle of the summer where we've been talking about football for like four straight months now, you're getting really creative, Joe I like your side of the road reference for these even plan it. It just happens organically. I don' You know what? That's the best things happen all at once. That's right. So yeah, that was a great bad you there. Thank you. Thank you. That was that was outstanding. But yeah, I'm concerned with the chiefs overall you know, I think this dream of Patrick Moahomes playing week O is a bit eye rolling. Maybe he does. And mayaybe he plays weeak one but if he plays week one, he's playing weak one at less than one hundred percent, my opinion. So toours ACL in late December So I know medical science is advancing and all that stuff But I do think this offense is going to take a hit and I think we really love what we saw from Ken Walker in the playoffs last year We know that the talent is there. It always has been. if you watch him in college, you saw him run through a great Michigan defense Every defense he ran through. everyveryone knew it was coming and he still did it, right? The offensive line was okay. It wasn't like a historic offensive line. his quarterback was Brian L workorkie. So yes, they were going to run him a lot. We've seen him look amazing. but Hej It's like you said, Joe, it's the touches, man He's been over two hundred and fifty touches one time in his career. He's never even pushed three hundred. I know that we think that he is going to come in and take three hundred touches because he got a nice payday and all that. If he does that, if that is the goal spepecifically while Patrick Mahomes is gone. I think he doesn't make it to the end of the year. like he has tended not to in his NFL career. That's why the Seahawks added Zach Charbonay and relied on two different guys and specifically at the goal line. We don't want Ken Walker taking those goal line hits. so we put Charbonay in there. right? Right. So I think that you're going to see some some similar things in Kansas City. I think we're going to see a lot of Em Johnson or Boicharde Smith ever wins that job And right now, ' going twenty five overall. Heays the first pick in the third round I have him in the fourth round And I know that's not a popular opinion, but I'm just not going have many shares of Ken Walker and it's weird because I feel like I'm the original Kenneth Walker guy. You are. So you are but I'm just I'm just out for fantasy this year for Ken Walker. And then Ri Rice Let's just ignore the off field stuff, right you know, It doesn't seem like he's going to get suspended for it. So I don't think we need to worry about it. No But you have to worry about between now and then. So we got sixty days. But that's the thing. It's like you can't say ignores offield stuff because he's never ending with the off field stuff You need Yeahah, you need to hire a babysitter for R Rice as well. I feel like. But U let's ignore the off the field stuff, Joe. Let's just go with injuries, right Uh December of twenty twenty five concussion. November of twenty five, hamstring, August of twenty five a groin injury. Of course in October of twenty four he tos MCL before that he had a hamstring injury. So Rashi Rice puts up amazing numbers. He's targeted heavily, right Out of one hundred and four qualified wide receiver tight ends, everybody with fifty targets last season. He was first in Yak per reception seven point nine eight fourth in targets per route run. onlynly Puca JSN and Monra were ahead of him. eleventh in receiving yards per game, fifteenth and misfce the miss tackles force per reception. He had some low numbers, sixty eighteen yards per target. That's just because he got a large volume of targets seventy eighth and drop percentage but I don't really care about drops unless they get you off the field When is Patrick Mahomes coming back, right? Is he going to have his best, you know, his quarterback that gets him the ball there for the entire season? A they going to rush him back and then he's going to miss time again? I think there are too many what ifs for Rashi Rice for me to make him a wide receiver one. That's basically what my argument is here because I'm not far off ECR is ECR is twenty seven I've been twenty nine overall. The difference to me is is I have him at wide receiver fourteen or he's wide receiver twelve in ECR. I just cannot accept Rashi Rice as your wide receiver one. I can't either. I'm with you. Pat, you know, when it comes to these chiefs guys If I can get Ken Walker at the end of a third round if he slips, I'm willing to draft him Bogman's point. I think he is a prime candidate to sell for six weeks. Like you hit the six week mark and you shop them around because the volume is going to be there and the numberbers going to be there. I assume the ramp up, even if Patrick Mahomes does play week one, which again, I'm still skeptical about that happening do believe it's going to be a slower ramp up anyway and they're going to lean heavily on him, which means that I think maybe the best version of Ken Walker is the one you get for the first six weeks of the season, pils up some stats And then you put him in a trade if you get a good value. But I do have to get a value on him Where do you stand on Rice? Where do you stand on Walker, Fitzy, I want your wo cents on these guys. agree completely on Rashi Rice. I think the third round ECR slash eightyP is kind of crazy for him. I like last year when we were getting the six game suspension discount, much more appealing price. Now it feels like we're drafting him or ranking him pretty close to the optimal outcome for hand And like we haven't even talked about the possibility maybe Xavier Worthy wasn't right all last season after dislocating his shoulder in the season opener and maybe he starts chipping a away. L I know Rice has been kind of a PPR machine, but man, there's a lot of injury and character risk There Kenneth Walker, I'm a little more willing to embrace the risk. I just think the role could be a lot different And yes, he has broken down in the past. Maybe that happens again, but injury rates generally are pretty high at running back anyway and that's sort of the risk you take with a high volume running back. But I do think the chiefs are going to have him be a high volume running back. likeike Bchard Smith is not stealing touches from Kenneth Walker maybe some third and thirteen. Bersard Smith or Imari Diercados on the field. but Im and Johnson E I like I like Ema Johnson. and I hope it's E and not Amer Dercado. But yeah,'m I'm willing to take Kenneth Walker pretty close to where he's being drafted That two three turn. I'm good with that Fitszy, let's talk about some wide receivers that you think might be a little too risky. for you in the early rounds of fantasy. Nico Collins is one that you've kind of outlined here and Malik neighbors the other Now L like neighborors one I think back I think we all get that. And I think we've been very outspoken on this show no matter who the panel is about Bak neighbors' concerns. likeike what's a guy that we'd love to have next year But this season seems like could get off a slow start. We don't know what the productivity is going to look like. I think that one's kind of a no brainer yet so far and I think it's just because it's early. Doesn't feel the ADP has moved all that much. I do believe that sentiment will grow and that ADP will fall and then it becomes a more interesting conversation. But Nico Cments, like I say, I was a little surprised because Nico is a guy that has shown you. He can be kind of a a, you know, a top guy at his position. I know we just did the Tailgate show. Go check it out by the way, Tailgate NFL on YouTube shameless promotion there. where Fitzy and I talked about CJ Stroud with Andrew Erksson and players that had to really, you know, perform and you know, where things were really on the table for them this year where they had to kind of put up or shut up and CJ Stroud was one of them. is the Stroud conversation bleeding into the Nko conversation? Talk to me about Nico and then tell me about Malik neighbors as well Maybe a little bit with the Stroud thing. So there are three ways in which I think Nko is a little risky. and here they are from least worrisome to most worrisome One, I think the Iowa state kids that the Texans have at wide receiver. Jaden Higgins and Jalen Noel paris second year guys. I think they're really talented Probably not talented enough to knock Nico off his perch as Houston's lead receiver, but maybe talented enough to put a small dent in Nico's target share Tw This Texans defense is nasty, maybe the best in the league and the Texans now have a legitimate running back at David Montgomery after not having one last year at all It won't be surprising if the Texans are one of the run, heaviest teams in the league this year because they're going to have a lot of run friendly game scripts. They've got a guy who can carry the mail pendably now. and maybe part of it is that they're trying to hide CJ Strout a little bit because he's not been that great for the last two years. So Look, a run heavy game plan or a run heavy approach can still work for a wide receiver If he's getting the sort of target share we saw Jackson Smith and Jigma get last season, but I don't see Nico approaching a thirty percent target share, let alone the thirty four percent plus that JSN was getting last year And then third So I just kind of whistled past the graveyard with the Kenneth Walker, the third injury history, but I got to bring it up with Nico missed three games with the shoulder injury as a rookie in twenty twenty one Sven games with foot and groin injuries in twenty twenty two, two games with a calf injury in twenty twenty three, five games with a hamstring injury in twenty twenty four two with a concussion last year Since coming into the league, Nico' missed nearly a quarter of the Texans's regular season games And then just if I can piggyback on the neighbors' thing Some guys, I mean, it's not so much that he's coming off at Trn ACL likeike Christian Watson, who everyone knocks for being injury prone. had a great recovery from his Tourn AC all was back in what like nine months and was terrific upon his return But obviously like things have not gone well with the neighbor's return. There was some sort of cleanup surgery this spring. we see him in a charity softball game and he's kind of hobbling around and John Harbau says they don't know when he's going to go back on the field. So I just think ECR has not caught up yet on bleak neighbors I think it will, though, Bx, don't you? donon't you feel like thealign neighbors readjust I peri it is in ev. Maybe It might. why wouldn't that fine it just be a matter of the fact WellSB looks good in campps it's just that's it, right? Like if he if they come back in the early stages in camp and Bink neighbors makes two catches to make the whole crowd go o and aw. then It's going to be all look. Malik looks fine. no worries at all, right? That's what But if he starts he's in the non contact jersey And he's away from the team, which is kind of what we expect then it definitely It will definitely go back down, which is kind of what I think and that's why I think currently, I'm unwilling to pay for Malik neighbors at all because he is going into the year herurt and honestly In most cases, I just don't want to deal with that for any player on any level. If you're dealing with an injury going into the year, football iss brutal enough. you to start the year The classic b Wh whyy would we start guys when do we know everybody on our rost is going to get hurt anyway Right, You know what? exact simple But it's true Yeah, sometometimes you just got to obey the kiss method, right? The keep it simple, stupid. This guy's hurt. Let's not draft him. So the Nico thing. I'm more willing to take on Nico because alough I agree with all the points that that Fitsz he just made, right? I do think that there's you can death by a thousand cuts Nico Collins, specifically with the entjures He's still the best wide receiver on that team. So Um and I think by decent margin. and I like Higgins and I like Noel And Dell is coming back, right? But I'm more concerned about the changes in the offense because they got a new running back that can carry a big workload and they fix holes in the offensive line and the defense. I think that last point that Fits he made in the run script is the biggest thing for Nico. I still have him very high because I think there's a lot of touchdown upside with him. I think CJ Std is going to play better that you can definitely ifs and butts Nico Collins down to not being worth where he's going. It' It's the ECR of fifteen overall. ike there are a lot of good players in the draft at that point. I mean, give me Brock Bowers over Nico Collins anyt timee I'm in agreement with you guys on all that. All right, before we get to the next guys on the list two running backs actually that might be a little too rich. For these two gentlemen's blood, shout out to our sponsor. And if you haven't checked out Dash dog food yet, this is the time to do it. I know Fitzie's got two dogs at home. I foster dogs a couple times a year. It's part of the thing I like to do. And look, compared to figuring out who you're going to draft, like that's kind of hard. When you're looking for dog food, it should be much, much easier. Dash is a fresher More transparent option and approach to dog food, which is made with grass fed, beef and organic chicken from humanely, raised animals. I know the last dog that I fostered. She was very picky. She only liked very specific kinds of food. She did not like the kibble. She wanted something better. And things like Dash dog food is exactly that. It's human grade, but Dash goes further by telling you where the protein actually comes from There's no antibiotics,'s no added hormones, there's no fillers. It's just clean protein you can feel good about all day giving your pets. So sixty percent off right now of your first box. when you use the promo code, fantasy Pros, That's easy to remember. I know a lot of you are listening out there, big football fans. have a lot of pets at home. I have a lot of dogs. Go to dash dogfood dot com slash fantasy pros try it out again sixty percent off. That's more than more than half off Okay? That's greater than fifty. for those of you who are not good at math. sixty. It's an enormous number. dash dogfood. com slash fantasy pros Promo code fancy Pros get sixty percent off your first box, cheheck it out. Do the right thing, buy your dogs today More often games Nico Collins has missed in the last couple years. That's right. It's true words have never been spoken. Let's talk about two running backs in the top fifty Jeremiah Love, first one here. Now Bogs, the talent is certainly as top fifty talent. The question is top fifty usage. We have seen the rookie running backs that we've been excited about time and time again fail to reach that productivity level that we want in their rookie year. Usually it's more of a last eight week thing than a first eight week thing. So is Jeremiah loves draft stock reflective enough of that potential Yeah, don't worry Joe. I have done the math for us here. I went and looked at the rookie season Everyone in the top twelve outside of, you know, we already talked about Ken Walker didn't want to go back in on him But There are of those u let ten. I think I got ten running backs here. How many do you think finish on points per game with an RB one average. It's not zero I'll say that I'm going how think finished I'm going to signize the top. Sake Juan's Roookie year is definitely one of them He finished RB two And then Is there another one off the top of your head that you can think of exxplosive rookies? I'm gonna say two guys like because' has got to be more than one Zari said sake one What do you think F? Is one ring all to you Roie running backs? it just like, G off theing bususter starts Was itt McCaffrey? RB eleven and half pointoint PPR He was ye, Gibbs was not not CMC. It was Gibbs was RB eleven JT was RB ten So Givbs was a nightmare for the first month or so of the season and people wanted to drop him and this is points This is points per game. It's not total points also by the way because I didn't think that was fair for rookies because like you said a lot of the times they're using them in and all that. But so Barcley had the most touches of any of these RBs three hundred fifty as a rookie RB two. Ashon Genti last year was second in touches three hundred and twenty one RB seventeen. We had JT who had two hundred and eighty six touches as a rookie still finishes RB ten, but beyond that three hundred and twenty plus touches in each of his three seasons with over eleven games or more. way fewer touches than he normally gets Bjon two hundred and seventy two finished R B seventeen Gibbs was only two hundred thirty four. he scored touchdowns, RB eleven, but CMC only had one hundred ninety seven. Hampton was one hundred and fifty six, evenven if we go down to per games because he only played those nine games. He was RB fifteen. Han was twenty four. Derek Henry was fifty eight, Chase Brown was seventy three. Uh Jeremiah love, the most touches he had in college football season was two hundred and twenty six last year and that was twenty eighth in the country So Alger is the goal line machine for this team. You would assume he's going to have the same role as he did in Atlanta And James Connor still on the roster. They passed more than any other team last season. I don't think that's going to continue, obviously. We'll talk more about that later. but I don't know if there are enough touches to get Jeremiah Love up to a Very, very stable RB like high end RB two. Does he have the upside for that? Absolutely don't know if we're going to get there. And I think by the time you are actually drafting especially after a couple of Nice moves in the preseason or in camp or whatever Chair I loves just value' just going to continue to climb And he has a potential to be in landmine. He also has a potential to break everything open. He is that talented. But I just think if you look at the way that the roster is constructed and everyone's role I think there are probably about two hundred to two hundred and twenty five touches here for Jeremiy Lo which is not going to be enough to push him into RB one territory. Yeah, That's another guy that I think I would rather as current ADP. We'll see if it changes. I'd rather trade for a month into the season then draft or is Ken Walker. that's an interesting conversation to have too. like Draft Ken Walker flipping for Jeremiah Love, you know, mid October. That seems like a strategy worth considering. Fitszy, talent earning back is not always the problem. Volume sometimes is the problem. It's the quality of the volume that can be an issue. Bes Hall and the Jets, certainly, the Jets ofense had a lot of quality issues last year. We could talk about that. So twenty twenty six, what has you hesitant about Breez Hall On a different team, Bruce Hall might even warrant first round consideration or at least top twenty consideration. mean. He's good, right? whether you want to look at the numbers or just use your eyeballs. I think everyone would agree that Brireezce Hall is a good player But we know the Jets are going to be a bad team that want't score a lot of touchdowns and this has been kind of a problem for Breece during his first four NFL seasons. He's never had more than five touchdown runs in a season And he's averaged less than half a touchdown a game during those four years with the Jets And because the jets are bad, they have no incentive to give a heavy workload to a player. They just gave a three year deal worth forty five point eight million do, which is big money for a running back. The Jets are not going to the Super Bowl this year Why work your expensive running back into the ground? So if if he were in the last year of his contract and had expressed the desire to test the free agent market at the end of the deal, ifferent story in that case, why save him We've already had Jets coach Eron Glen saying the team is going to have a three man backfield, Braillen Allen on Isaiah Davis kicking in Um, I would rather have Jeremiah Love and Bruce Hall. withithout question And I would rather have Josh Jacobs than ul and Jacobs has a lower ADP and ECR at the moment. Listen to I am Rap repeport on the Iheart radio app podcast or wherever you get your podcast Yeah, look, Brce Hall talented. Bobin, do you have that same reservation too that Vitszy has, which is just like you have to do potentially of that jets's offense that's just not enough around him to justify, you know his ADP or do you think that hey, look. He is the offense. and that could be another way you could look at the jets right now. It's it's hard for me to put this into good words. I I have a big tear from eleven to nineteen. Okay. So Do I have him in there. I have him high in it. I have him at thirteen So do see the upside for Brce Hall as like maybe one of those you know, pushing into RB one guys if he scores touchdowns don't as much have the reservations about Aaron Glen's Wds atle Right? Like is Aaron Glenn even going to be coaching this team? October, I don't know So I do think that the intention is to break up the touches a little bit more, Brailing out and even added weight for it, it looks like I think Isaiah Davis is a better running back than Bayan Allen just straight up So U there's that, but I think once we get to it and we see this with a lot of coaches is Brice Hall is just so much better than these guys. it's hard to take him off the field And that's how that's pretty much where I end up with Breece Hall everyvery time but I understand it's not a good offense, right? Kay Kubiick probably going to start a lot of games So I understand not wanting to Breece Hall. I just think he's way better than the other guys and I don't think Aaron Glenn is long for that job. So I do think he'll have he'll push three hundred touches again. He's never got there But I thinkll he'll push towards it again. It's funny because In sandwiching between Jerem My L love and Breece Hallen and ECR is Kyn Williams who is also a divisive player, but I would take Kyrmoise over both of them easily I have Kron over both of them Yeah E three for three on that one. No, I've got a love higher than K. Oh, okay, look at you That So the first Since twenty fifteen There have been eight running backs taken with top twelve picks and they have averaged a little over one thousandteen hundred yards from Srimmage year and ten point nine touchdowns Like that But all the stuff that you just said about Brce Hall is also the same as Jeremy I love, right? team that has him on a big contract that knows they're not going to be very good. Why are you wearing him out early in his career? You could say that for love just as well as Hall. I think they have to justify taking him number three point two. So Lots of good points being made and certainly more players to talk about too. So let's get after some of the guys a little bit further down in the mid round Uh Let's start with you here I'm Pap because DJ Moore is on this list for you, which again, I I'm somebody who's in on DJ More this year because blasphemy fits. Yeah. I look at this one, Fitzy. and I said to myself, DJ Moore. Has Kalo Sakir and Keon Coleman to fight with. mayaybe if he's still on the team by the time we get to August, I don't know thought This one seems like an easy one where it's not super expensive for me to find out if DJ Moore is useful. He's the twenty eighth wide receiver. We're talking about guys being drafted around there that are not are unproven or have not really Um I don't know shown you all that much in the NFL whereas DJ Moore has. He's given some really good seasons with a really subpar quarterback play and now he's get Josh Allen. I can understand if he was in a top twenty, but he's kicking thirty right now almost and you're still out on him, please. tellell me why I think a lot of people are viewing DJ Moore as the new Stefan Digs for Josh Allen, just a go to guy, a guy that Allen can hyper target I know DJ Moore' had some good seasons and believe me, Joe, I was a DJ Moore guy when he was routinely cashing in with thousand yard outputs year after year. But man. We haven't seen a thousand yard season from him since twenty twenty three He hasn't been very good the last two years I He has averaged one point four four and one point two four yards per route run the last two seasons. Those are objectively terrible numbers. And I know Caleb Williams has not been the easiest quarterback to play with the last two years. hasasn't been super accurate. There' been a lot of off target throws. But Man. I mean DJ Moore was a non factor for long stretches each of the last two seasons in Chicago. Even in his best seasons, DJ Moore hasn't been a prolific TV scorer said forty one touchdowns in one hundred and thirty one career games. He's averaged five point one per season. And I don't know if Josh Allen really helps the outlook in that department because Caleb Williams actually had two more touchdown passes than Josh Allen last year. Allen hasn't hit thirty touchdown passes any of the last three seasons So I just worry that evenven at what seems like a reasonable price for DJ Moore U We're still paying for what DJ Moore used to be rather than what he is now. becausecause we have just not seen that old DJ more for a while On the flip side of that Fitszy, I would just say in his defense, again, just taking the other point of view on this one because I think it's a good conversation is that when he was the kind of sole guy The last time he was that before Luther Burden shows up and Collson Lovelin shows up. If you go back a little while, you know, to the thirteen hundred yard season that he had in twenty twenty three where Justin Fields it was the only target And DJ Moore really, you know, did well there. He did score eight touchdowns, But as you said, Moore's touchdown numbers have not always been great. This will played with Kyle Allen and you know, kind of the dregs of the quarterback world in the NFL for quite some time. Bods, are you in or out of DJ Moore business this year? I'm in because it's so cheap still And he's still the number one guy, even though Yeah know, to Fitty's point, Josh Allen is not exactly Tom Brady in terms of the touchdown passing totals Yeah,'m I'm in on DJ more and but I do think to fitz his point, right. We're going to find out real fast whether He is done or, you know, this was just such a good thing for his career to get out of Chicago. I think we are going to findight out pretty quick because You know I agree that the last two seasons have not been good with DJ Moore, but I feel like If we're just switching quarterbacks, DJ Moore is in the same situation, right? If you just take Caleb out and put Josh Allen into Chicago DG Moore in the same scenario. But now that you're taking him out of Chicago doesn't have to compete with Bird and Loveland And Odoun say now his competition is Kencade who's not even on the field for mayaybe just over fifty percent of the snaps. Shakir who's notot as good as DJ Moore, in my opinion, a rookie Skyar Bell guy that has't panned out Kyon. So I think just given the I think he's going to have volume In Buffalo, I think those scenarios are different thinkink I think the cost is good now because he's a wide receiver three. If he' a wide receiver two still, I would be concerned Being a wide receiver three. it's like, okay well that's my last guy If I'm getting DJ more and I make a concerted effort to get some of pretty quick behind him to either play at flex or to back him up, which either either one. I think I'm going to be okay with DJ moreoore because even if he fails, he was just a wide receiver three for me. So I think the cost is fine now on him and he has potential to be a wide receiver one, but T fits his point We're going to know. on October like october first, whether this was worth it or not. We're going to find out real real fast. And I don't think he's going to be what Digs was, but I think, you know, if you could be eighty percent of that, that's still really useful for his current eightyP. Now if it moves up, that's a conversation. we could definitely have too Alec Pierce. Also a hot button topic of players with something to prove on the tailgate, go check it out Um Al Pierce was brought out by Andrew Erickson largely because he's g Paid? quuite and Andrew made a great point Bogs about Alec Pierce, where he also said that If he had signed this contract with somebody else, we'd all be screaming about fating him because he signed it with his team the Colts And although there's a various due point All of us are kind of like, well, yeah, sure. I mean, that's the nurational progression. That's the guy that they want him to be and he's in the same offense and theoretically the same quarterback when he comes back healthy, same coach, blah, blah, blah. I thought that was a very interesting little tidbit that he threw out there and it made me kind of pause a little bit. Oh, yeah, you know we would fade this guy because he's getting paid more than we've ever seen him be productive necessarily. and not that he can't be. We've seen flashes of it But where are you at with Alex Pierce coming into the season Well, I think, you know, a big part of this is Uh and, you know, Eric made a good point and if he had signed, you know anywhere else would have been like, well, what the hell? I don't, you know They overpaid me at forty seven receptions last year, right? Like what are we doing here But it's just that it's that they chose Alec Pierce over Michael Pitman. They had a choice. They traded Pitman away. They signed Alec Pierce to this extension and they didn't add in the draft, right? No who is Pitan's replacement has been Westbroo Kine right now. Now There are rumblings that they're thinking about signing Keeen and Allen, which would just pee in everybody's Cheerios. in India. I mean, it would hurt Alec Pierce. it would hurtosh Jowns it hurt Tyler Warren. it hurt across the board if they signed Keenan Allen because dude showed last year it could still play. So don't like that that's lur around there. And the last two seasons, we've seen Pierce rise and get way, way better. And in particular, I was impressed that he also succeeded with Philip Rivers, right? This wasn't just a Daniel Jones thing when Philip Rivers came in and was you know throwing balls straight up in the air so Ac Pierce could play five hundred under him. He was getting them So I like that. from Alec Pierce, but Alec Pierce also had an ankle issue that he had to have a procedure for in April Three month recovery period We're not even sure he's going to be back for camp We don't know what's going on with Daniel Jones don't know if Keeenan Allen is getting added either So I think this is another death by a thousand cuts here. and I think Alec Pierce is being a little bit overrated right now because we see him as a number one and he'd easily not be a number one at least in receptions. Maybe he still is in yards, but it could be Warren. it could be downs And if they sign Keenid Allen, he's going to really throw a wrench into this whole deal. So yeah, I'm I think right now because we don't know who they're going to sign and what his injury is like I think drafting him is just a bit risky for me and that's why I consider him a landmike. Fitsy, someome people would argue that a assigning of KQ now is actually good for Alec Pice because it would take some attention off of him from the defensive standpoint. because you have to worry about king out a little bit more and Title Warn a little bit more. Do you see it that way or do see it Bogwood's way I think it would cut into his target share, and that's what I care about the most. So yeah, I wasn't Excited about him resigning with the Colts until they traded Michael Pittman what like hours later, the next day? I can't remember. it was really soon after. It was very close. Yeah, so I just The only pushback I would give you Bogs is that Trust She Steken play Cer and I trust that he has some sort of plan for Pierce to have him run sort of a more complete routry like not. We know he's still going to be a vertical guy by and large. But I do think he could be sort of a knockoff version of Geordi Nelson for the Colt And like Jeordi Nelson was always the go to for Aaron Rogers when he was around. so optimistic that this helps Pierce. I'm kind of okay with him at his price But I That no the status of his ankle, like that's the big concern. All right, let's move on to two more players here. Pat, let's go back to a running back here. RJ Harvey, who you know, it's funny because on a show just recently Zeb was talking about, hey the finish of R J. Harvey, when JK Dolwin was out, all the touchdowns he had. But you then pointed back about all the metrics not being great despite the touchdowns and the touchdowns kind of propping up so that fantasy value. and now we have Joonnal Coman in that mix as well as more of an insurance policy. I want to say if I'm just going to say when JK Dobins gets hurt, because I think that's just probably a better scenario. Jonah Com iso around to eat into that workload too. So why is RJ Harvey for you, another guy that is just kind of a pass right now in terms of landmines because of the risk of attrression. that he just does not get used enough for you to ever want to start RJ Harvey in fantasy. And yet he's going eighty seventh overall. He's got a top one hundred eighty p. so that There is some opportunity cost here because they're good players aroundround the time Uh, Harvey is coming off the board And After Dobbins got hurt last year, Harvey average these aren't exactly advanced metrics, but three point three yards per carry after the Dobins injury running behind a really good offensive line in Denver. He was just flat out bad as a runner. And I know they're going to be people in the comments who think it's crazy to slam a guy who had twelve touchdowns as a rookie, but ask a Denver Broncos fan what they thought of RJ. Harvey as a runner after JK Dobins went down I would be very surprised if you got a positive review And the Broncos just had no running game late in the season or in the playoffs And Dobins is back and maybe he doesn't last, but what if he does If Dobins makes it through the whole season, RJ. Harvey is not going to give you enough touches to return a profit on an eighty seventh overall draft peck And Joe, you pointed it out. the Broncos drafted Joonah Coomman in the fourth round. That's not an insignificant investment Dobins figures to get most of the early down carries as long as he's available and the go line carries and Coman's a capable pass catcheran of reallyally good pass blocker So Harvey might not get all the passing down work either. Plus, Sean Payton's always been a committee guy Going back to New Orleans when it was two and often three guys Yeah. So it's just hard days of Mark Ingrham and Alvin Camera and Cher Thomas least those guys were good. Reggie Bush.. At least those guys were good. Yeah Yeah. Reie Bush too. Yeah, that's Yeah, that's another good one ye Yeah. Bogs I look at these running ps. Okay. Back to your pack. No I no, no, no, no, no w to ask you there was a targeted question I did have in the chamber here. So let me aload on you. So my point with the Denver Bronc goes backackfield is one where Whenever there's a backfield that I'm unsure about, I like to go with the cheapest guy And Jonah Coleman is the fifty something running back going off the board I think at some point he does get some play in that offense due to injuries or just due to the investment they made in him And to Fittie's point, it does seem like you can make a strong argument for aggression with RJ. Harvey at the same time Coleman is a guy that if I have the patience and the depth on a bench to stash him, I kind of want to do that and look for other ways to attack the running back position I feel better about early on makeake an investment on what I can control. Leave that middle to everybody else to fight over and then take some shots later on. What's your approach here with the Denver backfield Joe, have you ever gone the long way to not have to deal with the traffic? Have you ever all the time All the time Yeah That's what I'm doing with the Broncos running back situation this year is, you know what Let me pass on all to Gim me Rashad White You know what I mean? Like I know the ceiling. That's fine too be a whole other shot Wh as the rest of them. but I know he's going to catch a lot of passes for that team. They have no second wide receiver He's by far the best receiving back on that team. It's not even close So give me a guy with a high floor rather than this. If I do take one of them, you're right, Joe. It is Coleman because he's cheapest. So Does RJ Harvey have a tremendous upside? Yeah, he does. So does J K Dobins So does Shuna Cleman I think they all have the same upside. So if all of those are the same, Like you said, Joe, give me the cheapest guy out of this group. So it's going to be Cleman for me. But in most scenarios, I'm going the back way to avoid the traffic and just give me a shot wide. Don't give me this the rest of this nonsense. pass. All right. It's very difficult because every year in fantasy we see somebody have a performance that comes out of nowhere. Win you Lagues, Michael Wilson was a guy last year and Sy Pet's coming back. Michael Wils is coming back But you'll still have Marvin Harrison there. You've still got Treay McBride there. Now you got Jeremiah love in the mix along with Algier. So you got a lot of other pieces here Also have a new coach. So I feel like people will look maybe a little bit too much at that run of Michael Wilson. and be tempted to make an investment Bogs I understand that, you know, sometimes, you know, the right answer is the ones just staring us in the face Also, you just can't copy and paste one year's productivity into the next, especially with a guy like Wilson who' Kind of been a journeyman guy, you know, just, you know, hasn't really anything close like this before, it was a fantastic run, but it's really difficult to justify reinvesting at the price it is right now I can tell you on on ITL this week or a couple weeks ago Welsh and I got into it about Michael Wilson. I woke up this morning, knowing I'm going to talk down on Michael Wilson And I see our boy Seth Dwald U with the, you know, calling Michael Wilson a bit of a sleeper on socials today. So I know this is not a popular take. And I understand that U I think all the stuff that Joe just said is correct, right? newew offensive system a quarterback that's holding out Cardinals sed, loveove and Algier to the backfield. And Even without those additions to the backfield, do we really think the Cardinals are going to pass over six hundred times again? can't be the goal, not when your quarterback is Jacobi Bet, right And If Fitz has talked about he's not tray McBride a lot in this offseason because There's no way ay McBride can get the volume that he did last year. Can he still score a ton of touchdowns and lead the Cardinals? Yeah Can you still be tied in one? Sure. But I think expecting last year's numbers Is Iye rolling? He's not going to set the record for tied end receptions again, I wouldn't think. I don't think they're going to pass that much. I think the goal is to run the ball way more. That's why you add those backs. That's why you restructure Connor instead of cutting him We want to run the ball way, way more So there's volume down for everyone, including Michael Wilson and with a new offensive play caller coming in Are we going to see more balls going towards Harrison? Are we going to see moreore going to Wilson and by and remember Their third wide receiver was Greg Deorch last year was hurt and terrible. The guy who was fourth in targets was Michael Carter They added Kendrick Bourne this team a way better option as your third wide receiver as well. So I think There's too many males to feed. the volume goes down I think we' we're looking at this u pecking order incorrectly because I think a lot of people saw Michael Wilson number two Maybe Is it within the realm of possibility? Sure. It is. But his ECR is thirty eight I have him at forty eight and his projections have him at forty four. So he's kind of right there in the middle and projections. I think we're overvaluing Michael Wilson just a little bit. I want him as a wide receiver for If I'm drafting him not I receiver three Fitzy, who is the best cardinals's investment if you had to pick one in terms of return I Tray McBride is a very early one, but a lot of people, you know are kind of seem hesitant as being the first tight end off the board this year. Pob me just gave you the Michael Wilsonpel Marvin Harrison has been a perennial letdown uh Jm I love? Is that the answer? L I'm just curious Is that it? That's my answer. Okay. That's my like I don't think I'm going to be drafting any of the pass catchers because I'm behind consensus on all of them. Just like I don't want to go into the Cardinals passing game after they led the league in pass attempts and just drafted a running back third overall Interesting. What do you think about that Fox, you agree with that sentiment that love is the best investment inv all them I mean, I just knocked Love But but this is a contextual now. This is cardinals by their ADP It's probably Sil Mc Bride. Like McBride is still going I think he's still going to be good.. McBride's my answer too. and I think we're getting this weird like I'm the big Colson Lvel and hype train But like I don't want but let's dri third with that trarain either, right Like what does he fall to Third like most It seems like the the Consensus on McBride is getting a little smarter. It seems like Early in the offseason, he was being ranked sort of as an early second round pick and now it seems like he's going mid to late second round, which is much more reasonable. He's still catch a lot of balls. He's just not going to catch one hundred twenty some balls this. Right. Yeah. But exactly. He's still going to pay off. But he could L they're saying it's definitely it's on paper. We've seen it Harrison's I guess said parennal disappointments could certainly put that back into play this year. There's no doubt about that. All right. we're going to talk about probablyably going to be Harrison watch Yeah right You make me look like a Tyler LG or twelve touchdowns ladies and gentlemen. We're going to talk about some guys that are false sleepers in just a second, like players that, you know, kind of are buzzy sleepers that we completely disagree with before we do, shout out to our sponsor Hard Rock B, Florida, Sports Book and the world's biggest soccer tournament is here. All right. Lastly here, let's kind of dispense some Falsehoods. two players that are being discussed as sleepers that we don't want to touch. Why don't you go first here? Give me a guy that's a quoteote sleeper that you're not interested in Jake Ferguson, I don't know that he's necessarily being viewed as a sleeper, but I think his ECR is just way too high It's tight end twelve, one hundred sixteenth overall. If either CD Lamb or George Pickens gets hurt in August before your fantasy draft fine draft Jake Ferguson. I'm cool with that AyP or ECR If those guys are healthy I mean Lamb and Pickens combined for two hundred and fifty targets and one hundred and sixty eight catches last season. and that was with Cing Lam missing three games And Jake Ferguson had eight toucheddowns. four of them came in the three D three games that CD Lam missed And then he had four touchdowns in the other fourteen games He averaged seven point three yards per catch, a career low He was tight end eight and hal point PPR fantasy scoring, but tight end thirteen and points per game among tight ends who played at least five games. So I guess my main point here is that if Lam and Pickens are healthy early on Jake Ferguson is probably going to put up statlines that will have you getting badly outscored at the tight end position. Now that there are a lot of quality tight ends out there And Mark Andrews, Isaiah Likely and Dallas Goddard are a lower in ECR than Ferguson I think any of those guys would be much better draft picks than Ferguson if you're spendning down at tight end and look, I hate on a Wisconsin Badger, but it's just there's not going to be enough work for Ferguson with Lamb and Pickins around. True, true. Look is a very heavy upper Echelon tightan group. I mean, you can go I think eight deep all the way to Pitts and Laaporta and still do very well. And once you get past that If you're going to take a flyer on Kiddle and Ferguson, I'll take the flyer on Kiddle. I know a lot of people like Isaiah likely. I think, you know, Bretnton Strange in deeper Leagues is also an interesting name too that I think could pop this year. Bogx, who is a guy that's being heralded late as a sleeper that you're like, arere you drunk? Why are you doing this? Do see me clutch my pearls? I did when Fitzy said Jake Ferguson because I'm a coward And I couldn't do the player I wanted because he went to Texas. I'm going say Charbonnay in this spot. So Charbonet againgain, a guy going into the year coming off a torn ACL when they added a first round running back in Jerian Pice And I knowgering prices Cost is moving down right now because George Halani has been talked up. a lot. They signed Emanuel Wilson who will get some run as well and they have talked about it being three headed back field It ain't going to be a three head of backfield. It's going to be Judariian Price' backfield because he's way better than Halani or Wilson. once we get to it, right In the meantime because it's being talked about as a three headed monster and all of this. peopleople say, oh, well Charvonay still there and he's going to come back maybe in mid October. this dude ain't coming back until Thanksgiving in my opinion. I don't think the Seahawks are really going to need him that much. He's a free agent after this year as well. So he's not going to rush himself because he's going to want to make money. I think if they are pushing towards the playoffs, they're going to ease him back in. So I'm just I have no interest in grabbing Charonnay and stashing him on my injured list and The um The fewer IR spots that I have, the less interested. The fewer bench spots I have, the less interested I am and Charbonnne works in reverse as well. The more IR spots and bench spots I have, the more interested I am. and adding Charvonnay and speaking of twelve touchdowns, that's what he scored last year R? He made his money off of scoring touchdowns and is he going to be that goal line back again, right
