There's no there there at the end of your career Right? even LeBron's Cleveland relationship is very complicated So it just I was funny that a couple nights ago, a friend of mine invited me to dinner at a country club, his country club And it's, you know, everybody there are forty couples. kids have gone to the same high school They'd all been, you know, vacation together and I felt like a brown pair of shoes at a tuxedo convention. I'm like, man, do I not fit here And I use the term all the time Bounce around guy in pro sports. LeBron's the greatest and most accomplished and most productive bounce around guy in the history of pro sports. KD's up there and so is Beon Sanders. Beond did this Deon took care of prrimeime Deon's brand, the very end, remain huge. LeBron's brand remains huge. Maybe they got it right. Deion was going niners. He was going to the cowboys. he was going to the Falcons. He was going to Washington. He was going to he was going to Baltimore. LeBron and Deion basically take care of yourself Take care of your family. And the upside to all that hyper moobility is John Madden, the great broadcaster. I swear to God, he worked for every network You're going to get richer, you're going to be on better teams And you're going to make more money And you're going to have more trophies there is an advantage that you don't plan a lot of bad teams. You don't have a lot of wasted seasons Pro sports is travel and hard work and rehabit. You don't have a lot of bad seasons. You're always on good teams. Right, Katie's mostly been on good teams, Deon and LeBron mostly on good teams And I'm not trying to go all, you know, on rand on you Atlas shhrug, but prioritizing yourself As a pro athlete It's not the worst thing in the world. It's not So LeBron's legacy, the downside is, what is his legacy He always felt like A lame Duck Laker, it was a business transaction, more consultant than founder Magic's a founder, Karim's a founder Even Shaq is beloved. peopleeople understood it. He and Kobe couldn't get along. Kobe was tough Asvill Jackson. LeBron always felt like a visitor, a consultant, even though he spent double the years in LA than he did in Miami Double eleven years in Cleveland eightight with the Lakers But it never felt like manager G Kobbe probably doesn't matter It probably doesn't matter Um That's the downside to it And So what is his legacy? His legacy is yesterday, six or seven friends text me and said, God, I'm so glad we're going in a different direction Steph Curry, that's different. Magic Johnson, that's different. Jerry West, that was different But this one, and those guys felt like they were woven into the fabric of the city and woven into the fabric of the organization LeBron He was a great consultant I mean, he came in, saved us, cleaned us up. Boom out. That's okay. Not the end of the world. Again, the Lakers now since his departure Walker Kessler, Sandra Mamu, Quintin Grimes, Colin Sexton, younger, bigger, more athletes. and size L three point shooting mixed in J Mac with the newews No No, no, no no, turn on the loose Heard line new All right, let's go to the World Cup Colin and yesterday, Killian Mbopepe went off two more goals against Sweden. I'm watching Portugal. I'm watching England I think we match up with everybody except France. Do remember in when the dream team, the original just obliterated everyone? And then increasingly after that, the results got closer and then we lost I mean, we're catching up to the rest of the world. It's okay to say that. People don't want to hear it, but our players are all now spread out overseas. That wasn't the case in nineteen ninety. Like we're just a better country for soccer. We're not quite France who are juggernauts, but All right, let's move on, Colin. This is a crazy story. So we're gonna to do a lot of LeBron James here on the show, regardless of how you feel about him All the teams want him, including the Minnesota Timberwolves. So when the producer mentioned all the Timberwolves, I instantly he was like, come on, give me a break. Lameello Ball, no. No shot But Colin, this is a team with arguably the best wing defender in the league, League and Jadee McDaniels A great rim protector in Rudy Gobert. You've got create scorers in Anthony Edwards in Lameello Why wouldn't LeBron consider the Minnesota Timper Wolves? That is a team that's been to the conference finals twice in the last three years. It's a winter league. LeBron said I read a quote yesterday LeBron told Rich Paul gather all the information and any viable options and I will choose the one based on which one makes me happiest? Flying in during October, November, December, January, February and early March to Minneapolis after an eight game radie is not going to make LeBron and his family happy. It ain't happening So as someone who just spent a few days in Minneapolis, I will say it is a really nice city. It's pretty clean downtown Yeah. very walkable. Yeah. Now again, I was there in June, not November. Yes. Seattle's also charming in fourourth of July weekend. If I were Anthony Edwards and I called LeBron James, I would say, Do you want to win or do you w to be warm for a month not it's not a month. Bron's got a stack of cash and a stack of trophies. Wh will he be happiest? He'll be happiest Tiring Cleveland or you know, Golden state, according to Sam, Aymick is probably over. Yes. Interesting move. two years, forty five million dollars pumped in twenty two points a game last year Former UCLA Buin, I'm fairly certain, just a good guy, good player. And he's going to go into a starting lineup. I think we're going to pop it on the screen here that's actually serviceable. I mean, we need a little more shooting here. Josh Gitty cannot shoot U Buzelas is a very promising prospect. I love me some Caleb Wilson. Nick Clxton. that's a long I mean, I think Norm Powell six four is their smallest starter. So that's a long, very defensive minded team. Let's see forty five wins out of these guys. forty, forty five It's amazing. You flush out A very weak front office for the Bowls. That is a basketball team Length, size, defense, experience Modas Buzalas is emerging into a twenty point a game kind of dependable score. Gety's a very good player. He's not a great shooter. But Powell is Kayla Wilson, Claxton, you have Link This is this is a real lineup. It's not a great team, but in the East, it's a real lineup. You could absolutely make the playoffs with this lineup. And it's very complelentary. You've got size, length, young, old defense. Again, it's amazing how fast you can clean stuff up You may not get stars, but you can clean up very quickly if you get the right ownership, like the Lakers or the right front office, like the bulls. It's crazy. you go to Chicago and now the bears are relevant to get. No I've told you this. I am there's something about I mean, my wife likes clovers, you know, she Irish girl and she's had luck since I've known her some interesting luck. I went to Los Angeles and the teams all got good And I moved to Chicago, Bears legit. White socks now are on fire. There's a lot of talented people out there For Jayen Brown notot to have a great market. not because he's not a great athlete, not because he doesn't D up N because he doesn't produce. I mean, apparently he' not a great analytics guy. I don't know. I've watched a lot of Jayalen Brown. I think he's really good But Frank E Soola came on this week and talked about his future You have to factor in the contract. I just think there's a lot of teams around the league that don't look at him as a fifty or sixty million dollars a year player. Now with the Boston Celtics, it's worked and I agree with you. The analytics aren't great necessarily, but the guy plays all the time and he wins. So for me, he's productive. I think it works in Boston. evenven when they lost to Miami. Everyone, Oh, you got to break them up, you gott to break them up to your point If you get rid of Jayalen Brown and you get say you get draft picks back, you're hoping that one of them could come close to being the player that Jalen Brown is That's kind of how I look at it. I mean, Tatum, Jayalen Brown, a good coach. decent bench and now you got Mitchell Robinson that you've pried away from the New York Kicks. Now now if you go to the finals and and face OKC's big front line Or Wemby. you got no Mitchell Robinson So you lost Hartenstein a few years ago. And Walker Kessler is a great addition, seven foot to Shot blocker. you need size with Wimby and then OKC's got size, Kessler can step out and shoot the three a little bit, can score inside with either hand, good rebounder like that was a very good addition. He's got a little athleticism to him. And then on the wings with Quentin Grimes and Cllin Sexton, you add some athleticism there. They can both shoot the three as well And so I like the direction that they're going in. this team
