This of course is the annual event here MMax. That's right. It's the six shooter game release calendar duel, everybody. We're gonna to be running down every gam's release date for the rest of the year. It's a nice way to map out like what does twenty twenty six actually look like We can't tell you about the rest of your gosh darn life, but we can tell you what you might be playing This here year in games and then We each, of course, have six shots loaded into our ittle pistols of fun. They're water pistols or something, but we got six shots in there. Mine's a gun. Okay, mine's for a real achieve a gun. Oh, the Canadian brought a real gun, please. Bing gun to a. Okay. Flip stereotypes. And we're going to so progressive of you. We're yelling duel. I'm sorry, not yelling duel, We'relling bang Whenever there's a game on this list that we want to play, if multiple people bang yell bang on a game, then it's an old fashioned passion off to see who gets the quote unquote right to be the only person in this group that gets to actually play this game. Not really, but it's more fun if you pretend Now We've done this for what feels like a lifetime We were born banging. We'll die banging But what if this year We introduced a twist What if this is Halo two, ladies and gentlemen? And I'm not talking about campaign involved for Halo two, which will be coming up, I'm sure, but we're talking about introducing dual wielding What if You can whip out a second pistol and take a second shot and use a second one of your six bullets and that will defeat the other player immediately, but they get one less game in their final stack at the end and leave a comment below to see who has the best stack of games at the end. And I'm like, okay, well now I need to play the original and there hasn't been like a new rhythm heaven game in how long? It's been quite a while. Yeah, since the three D meegabix one. Yeah. So I mean I have a newcomer's passion to it. I don't have a breadth of experience. Did you even play the demo, dude , but there are a lot ofams that I'm excited for that I haven't played the. Ladies and gentlemen, I'm a demoer. I jumped in there for that demo. I was and here's here's also Jacob, why I think I'm going to pour water on your heart, your fiery heart. is I played the demo. It seems awesome. seems like a great rhythm heving game. can'tait toive into it. There was a part of me that I was like, I wonder if Jacob's expectations are going to be too high because of Rhythm Doctor being so creative. Like I think there's no world in which I like rhythm Heaven more than Rhythm Doctor.'s a gentlemen of the jury. He's dousing his own flames of passion. Look at to see you. I feel like he's gonna bang this. I feel like Leo is born to bang this I'll bang this. Oh! Takaking the shot and it's an old musket It took me a long time to look. You spky today about your're hyper. Is it just like By the way, look at this old man wanting some reemasters of things that brought him joy over a decade ago. Mark this man. Yeah, everyone get him. Get him. I wasn't sure if I was gonna like it. And then I saw the trailer and I said, M, like it enough to give it a shot. I sure did like it at the time. I sure I've liked my fair share of Assassin's Creeds in the past. And honestly it was seeing a moment in the trailer where he's perched on a branch You know people a perch in this one? Is this a perch game I said that's kind of classic I'm curious to see how they modernize it and how they hopefully don't, because I would love for it to be more like the old climbing than the new climbing, you know? That's what the perch on the branch ignited within me. Yeah. On the Friends for Second podcast, Jake Baldino over there, he was talking about Getting into the mod scene for Assassin's Creed Unity And it made me think of you, Leo. I don't know if you should check it out or not, but the idea was like the mod scene has just been blowing up for unity and now it's like an awesome stealth co op game. The fans have just like, Revolutionized it. It's more of a splinter cell experience. Modding into it. I don't know exactly, but it sounded cooler. You can play his lola bunny now. Yeah. This is the game where you are grinding as a train. It looks like a jetset game if it was a train, written by Geordi Of course, from Donstruct team, who did the MMax spotlight on for a fun little Banish twist this whole thing, but I'm curious about that, I think Dude. My list is already so colorful and beautiful. I feel like I can retire now. This is a hell of a time already There had a lot of bullets in July You feel up early. I know God, am I just living a terrible flawed life here? All right, we got july sixteenth, Moss, the forgotten relic. which is kind of the I did love I love the first Moss. I played in VR, but I inv moss too. Yeah. I jumped in and played a little Mos two with PSER two and I was like, this would be the best time if I just sat down and played this whole thing in VR. So it's like, this is a cool opportunity. but good for them. Avatar Legends, the fighting game july twenty third Splatoon Raiders, july twenty third Janet Garcia. I'm tempted. Kelsey, I wish you were here so that I wouldn't be the sole spplatoon freak. That's like picking on this game. Yeah, I mean, it's a new spplatoon gamees. Splatoon is up there as a really beloved franchise for me. I also just think it's really cool to be one of Nintendo's rare newer franchises. I think they're so great at doing like legacy stuff and that's really how they built their brand. And I remember when Splatoon first hit the scene it being like, oh man, they're doing something new and it's good. and it's like, okay, well no one notices because it's on the Wi U. But one day and then, you know, Splitoon's gone on since then and I definitely think there's things about the franchise that I wish they expanded more into, but I think on that note, this is really cool than making a single player adventure. I know y'all talked about in earlier episodes how like at least for you and Kelsey, the single player of the more multiplayer focused games has kind of been a mixed bag I'm a bit more favorable on them, but I do acknowledge are a little bit sterile feeling Like it kind of just feels like you're going almost into like a training zone rather than a world. So'm cautiousally optimistic from seeing this that it'll feel more like a set place almost like irrespective of the multiplayer aspect. And what really makeses it sll for me is that while it's single player focused adventure, you can also join with up to three other people. So it's like even if the game's not that good, Well, maybe if we're just kind of hanging out, it's like, hey, who's the say what's good or not? So I'm pretty confident that I'll have a good time with this. And I'm kind of I just feel as a splatoon fan, legally obligated to select this game. So that's why I shot it. Ieresting to see a Nintendo game with damage numbers. hasas other splatoon single player stuff had that Hm. hope Damag gotten upough the enemies? I think I feel like they have. but now it kind of feels like a Bernstein bear situation or maybe I'm wrong, but I think that's been the case. Yeah. All right, I think Nelson Mandela wrote it. Exactly, yeah. One of those is absolutely. favorite raaider U Everquest Legends U comoming out july twenty eighth, there was like a single player repackaging of Everquest storyline, which is kind of a funky thing. I'm excited they're doing it, but curious to see how it goes That is funky. Bang. Hay McLan, you All right, every quest is that I guessull over. E I get comments that my voice is too low. Damnit. Okaykay, I should have gone the other way. Oh, okay. It's a passion for Evercrash Legends. On july twenty eighth, this is sneaking up on me. I didn't realize this was coming out so soon. Halo campaign evolved The big remake of Halo One's campaign This one's hard. Really Well, yeah, I love I love all the halo campaigns. I've played them. with my brother when I was a kid and then with my roommate Michael Reno when I was growing up Slash in my twenties, I wasn't grow up roate. I don't know. I'm just not excited for it. I just I saw it and I went cool. and And I just didn't really have any other, which is crazy because I'm such a palo person. but yeah, I ha this. Wow. I haven't been paying much attention to this other than their terrible split screen plan. Right Is it just a coat of paint remake or are they like There's some new content. There's some new Yeah there's three principal emissions, which I am curious. I do want to see how good those are. But overall, it's like, you know, rebuilding it S seems like truly from the ground upp. I know that word get thrown around a lot I think although I think they're technically running some old tech under the hood, but it's built in unreal now, which is what Hal is going to be built in moving into the future. So it's ultimately like a test bed for that Halos studio that's been rebuilt six ways to Sunday to like get up to speed again on making a halo game I like the Halo O one campaign, but I like Halo One's multiplayer five times as much. so it's like a weird thing that I kind I think what you just said kindut of tracks of, it feels like a thing to train employees for the next big halo thing. Right, Which is fine. That can exist and it's nice that employees are staying around to be usedful. And there's one thing know that Microsoft is good at. It's thinking long term with studios That's right the direction. Yeah, keeping employees around, right Um, okay, bangless. u august fourth Beast of reincarnation ang Yeah, Job. You're crazy, man. This is the game freak sword game Yeah, this one's extra interesting for me because I've literally never played a game freak game. Really? am not I'm not a Pokemon guy at all for you know their other various offerings. But I'm curious about this one. Yeah, it seems very much up your alley. Looks like there's going be some good pairing and big swords and big creatures and stuff. like When they showed that trailer I think I was excited and everyone else was a little worried by how per heavy the combat looked. I'm I'm more worried about like what kind of open world is it? because I've had a I haven't enjoyed a lot of modern open world games, but I really like the idea of Almost the like monster hunnteredness that it looks like, of like there are big things walking around and you can just kind of choose to fight them or not. And obviously they have so many systems in there that seem really interesting of like growing vines and having creatures do stuff, which I don't think you can do in any other game freak game, so I'm excited to try it in this one Yeah Oh my God. Okaykay, this is I have lost track of this storyline, but it was private division that was publishing it. Right now, the publisher is listed as fictions which apparently is like a reinvented version of private division, like spun off from two K. I have not kept up with that fictions publisher That's weird. But all right, Jacobs's all yours, man choice, good chice. August fourth Big walk Bang and Leo Vader Jacob, you can't hold a gun up because I don't know if Discord is just cutting out the loudest bang possible. Bang. I came through. Leo I'm also banging this bang. Wow. four bangs. All right, Leo, what are you feeling about Big Walk U it's one of those games that makes me wish we had a different name for that genre besides friend Slop and hopefully'll get that one of these days. Yeah. It's like a nice f like when people say friend sllop, it's like tongue in cheek, we love them, right? In some games our friends slpt though That's true. Sometimes our friend u Well, it turns out you can have good and bad games in any genre. think people are realizing. Right. O it's not Metroid Vanas that suck, you know? Metroid trash. Honestly, sometimes it is Mroid anyway, but yeah, I skin the school Yeah, looks like lots of cute setups for fun riffs and bits with your friends as you solve, you know Proximity chat puzzles You can'tar people for this, they're stuck behind a wall, whatever. All the trailers have looked so cute and whimsical and I would love to not miss this one and be left out of it the way I have with somebody in the past Yeah, it does feel like I think what I'm excited about is just like The unevenness of kind of the little shrines or puzzles You know, if it was just like, hey, there's puzzles out in the world, almost like shrines from Zelda, go solve them. It's like, okay, this, this, this. But I love just truly having no idea what I'm going to encounter. Maybe one will actually be a tough puzzle for me and some friends to go through. and one might just be like Here's a jokey thing where you guys just jump around for a little bit. Like just it's such a weird pitch, but that alone has me very intrigued I like the what they've shown so far has so many Like I'm already thinking about how good the Twitch clips will be just like fun little things that'll happen. Like what like I think you can just hold up a sign from far away because the audio won't pick up at a certain distance. like that alone. like that's so cute and fun. I don't know why just I just want to be in there and then like we lose Janet and I turn around and she's holding a sign the next hillover that says help or something. And I'd be like, I don, just that's going to be such a good time Yeah, I love the idea of also fe twelve player limit, which is just kind of crazy and chaotic and implies that you can have like almost different squads wandering around the same island doing different stuff. Yeah Can I make an argument against Ben getting this Okay, here we got to take my phones off. Yeah. I haveough friends 'cause that's me. I have played cooperative video games with everyone on this call. more than I have played cooperative games with Ben. And this is it's like I kind of think that we should all get this because it's so much like you're gonna play it with friends, but the person I am least confident I will ever play Big walk with is Ben Hanson. Dude, we played Simpsons Fortnite together for at least thirty five minutes. so don't pull that crap on me, Jacob Kelly. Is it more to you than it to him I don't know. Yeah. I agree the Bench shouldn't get this. Day. I also agree Bench should. Okay. I really feel like it's it's like a Leo V. Hay. No shade to you, Jacob. I I feel like y'all are so into like that kind of like stremam angled content. I don't know, I feel like you guys have played a lot of multiplayer online games like the last year or so And honestly will now that you haven't, if I may to like Haley feels more puzzly. You know, like I think like the Nancy Drewnness' kind be that puzzly though. It didn't seem that puzzly. I think it's it's kind of the whole thing becauseuse you're walking around solving puzzles Yeah know, but it kind of seemed like, you know, the kind of puzzles that You're like, oh, I just moveved this block over here Okay, thanks. Leo level puzzles, what you're saying out ofank in the store. you know. Th scamp get around. You're more of a puzzle person. Yeah. I was were four years old That' flagly Im not one. Okay, you don't get anything and actually this talk this. I was gonna make an argument for Jacob because Jacob's always the one initiating the group hang and peek and stuff. to throw Jacob back in the ring. Like we have our little group chat thing and you're always the one that's like check this one out you guys. You're right. And I feel like he should be rewarded for that. we've done that like once. No, I think I agree, I agree with Janet that it's like a In terms of making your own fun I think that Leo and Haley are both so good at that. and that does seem like even if you're solving puzzles, it'll really be just like doing mischief doing bits that will be, you know, where the real juice of the game is. And if I had to count up like Timer thrat all Midm content, I think Haley's a bigger bidter. I think so. you know ' Really signed, thank you. I'm leaning Hay on this sideall. I look, Sarah, I have no interest in playing the game. I haven't likef and I'm being a good girl and waiting until one point. That's how excited I am. I stop playing it about six ish months ago and I'm waiting now. Wow, All right. It's on the list. There we go. Field a mystery of the gamees Sarah's working on And Annie is screaming from downstairs probably with how much she's played it. Hayley, you talked to her. she's like breeding all the gold animals and stuff. Yeah she's going full Pokemon with it. Yeah, she was one hundred percent in that. That SOB. she was loving it. Uh, Well Kep Annie's screams are rolling folks, 'cause up next on august sixth, we have Marvel Tkon fighting Souls. I don't think Annie scream for that one. Bang Annie. Hs off, y grubber U I'm Ten. There's a lot happening here narratively. I feel love it. I worry expectations are too high of like, this is it. This is the fighting game of the year. People are going to be so excited to jump in into. You got to carry this up to two tenens so the community will put your head on a stick. I know. it might be like emergency. It's a bit of a tag team match. I'll call in Nick Steanacci, our fighting game expert who is the production assistant who's on last week. mayaybe he can come in get my back in some way if it's good. I'm intimidated by the fact that's a for forty four take fighter. They clearly are aware of it. The big partnership with PlayStation. they're trying to make this as approachable as possible But I'm excited to whip out the fight sticks and have something that is At least in the arena of Marvel versus Capcom. You know, I've spent the last what like four years. not getting good or understanding five percent of, but at least playing Marvel versus Spcom too, like all summers. And so now it's like, hey, here's a new game where I can kind of harness some of that love and enthusiasm. And so I'm really looking forward to Marvel Tocon and I'm excited for it. And the name is growowing on me do you know Ben because I'm I'm excited. I want to try this game. Okay. Do you know anything anything about the single player? because this was a real like What U for me The where it has it There no, there's that there's not a story mode. There are ten hours of like motion graphics that don't have fighting matches in the middle. Right. That's a guilty gear thing It's kind of the way that Arxis does it is just like you can just kind of watch a little anime narrative if you want. Right But I guess I have a hard time with with my single player fighting games I guess they'll probably just have a kind of work your way up a tower thing. but it's like I do I I like the mortal combat you know, I like the injustice style story, even if it's dumb just to kind of be like H are a bunch of matches that we've planned out for you and I'm kind of scared by just fully having to kind of decide how I'm going to do the single player for it on by myself. It it to be funny to try and shoehorn it in where like you're going through the kind of story mode narrative and then just be like, okay, and now it's Miss. Marvel fighting Dor. Doomes. Now I'll pause it, now jump into like just a little exhibition. I should like line it up for myself. find some way to do it. Well, Jacob, we're just have to play together man, and that's the story, baby. is just the way we interact and grow Although you can't because Ben got it. I'm pretty busy.. Hey look, let's see, Grave seeasons, august fourteenth Oh Whoa. Oh I was debating putting this on the list. Way to go, Janet. What's up with Grave Seasons? Yeah, no this game looks red as hell. like this is an upcoming Narrative Farms Sim, so it's like another one of those, but this is one of the there's a couple that are coming out that have this horror twist and Grave Seasons is one of those And it just seems so freaking cool. I previewed this two SGFs ago, which it's always a challenge to set up a preview for a farming some game because it's like those are games that take hours and hours to like getet your hooks into it and see like what the gameplay loop is, but I think they did a really good job just sort of taking you around to like the different elements of the game quickly, besides the farming stuff just feeling generally good. they have a lot of interesting unique stuff that you don't normally see. like you can break into people's houses and like snoop around because the big sht here is that Someone in the town is a supernatural serial killer, and you're trying to figure that out all while doing like the farming and the romance stuff and the other pillars of the genre that have sort of since been established as the genre has like continued on. And it also just like looks really great. Like I have the fact that you have a crow bar, I was like, I'm sold. this is gonna be so cool and different and funky And I'm really excited to see what they do with it. And I don't know. I just think it adds another layer to what you're already doing, which is going be fun. I really enjoy when a farming simim can hit that combo of yourre making your own fun, of course because kind of pursuue what you want, but there's also like a through line to be following in it. Yeah, tootally. Yeah. Grave seasons is name of that from B. I remember a thing about this too is that There's not just one bad guy. it changes for each save file. so you won't get spoiled on like who the villain is. It'll be different for each person. Right to point out. Yeahah. That's cool. So you'll be like, o, I wonder who it is and you won't ever get spoiled on it. That's sweet. Uh, o boy, august twenty seventh Metal Gear Solid Master Collection, volume two. Ladies and gentlemen You're gonna bang that, right Don't tell me what I'm gonna bang, man'am. You're gonna bang that, man. I dude, you don' know I'm gonna bang. my dught, you're tight. you're gonna bang that I don't think I would have bang it, whichich feels insane. Like that' is insane. I banged volume one, I'm sure back in the day, check the tape Yeah And I bet I played like thirty minutes of it just to be like, okay, it's cool. this is all in here, you know? Like I was excited to have like the full remake of three and it's awesome. The idea of having me solid four on a switch to, like that's going to be an absurd place to play that absurd game Yeah, it's more of a like Glad it exists then because it's like, yeah, am I unless we do a deepest dive. Yeah. I don't think I'm going to sit down and play through Metal Gear Solid four again. I'm glad it is available awes if I like wanted to, but but yeah, I am in the same boat where it's like I love that it's finally here on modern consoles, but also I'm I'm not gonna play that game this year probably. Dude, it would be the highlight of my life to do a deepest d Iive' M your solid for. I think it'd be such a fun game to talk I would love to. Now there is the wrinkle of according to my calendar on the wall August twenty seventh is right before September, which is going to be like a month where every game everade' ready. And I'm so ready and excited about having like a big poll for Patreons supporters again to have them choose what we do the deepest dive on for that September window. Like I think it could be four options. I think it might be more than that. Let's map it out once we get through all this stuff because I do think I do this cool stuff. What if we did, Okay, here's what we could do. Yeah, We prereord a deepest dive because we can just play Metal Gear Solid forward now And then I don't know, you splice viewer comments and do it. Most common comment I don't know, it's probably about the trench coat and Act four. guess what it's gonna be. so flat. but you know, or we could hold it for longer. Yeah, I wish I mean, it's it's not like it's, you know, technically it's relevant because It is coming out, but it's like It's a it's a sixteen year old game where you do it whenever. I've just never put the time beside to play them. I feel I feel like it's like has the potential to be really good or really not deliver. And if it gets a sixty five JV Golton is still going to be on social media talking like it's a ninety two. You know, I do think it's going to have like a passionate fanbase, no matter what. But not here, not now, but also you can't shoot a gun of an vamppire, do nothing. He' laugh at you, I think, you know, So it's not our fault I'm shooting it. I'm really intrigued by this, but yeah, for that reason I didn't quite put it on my list. I always play them. I just think it's such a fun genre that has the hardest time in the world and they never live. But there's so something about it is so fun. And this one's interesting. It has a whole single play experience. so a whole there's a whole like story. Yeah. ye. of like how Michael comes to be and then multiplayer very like similar to Dead Daily, obviously, that's always going to be the comparison. But when you look at some of the gameplay, it seems like there's an there's more of like a cinematic twist to the multiplayer side of it as well, much more like Michael Myers is really scary. That's why you're playing this, not necessarily for like strategy to play for a thousand hours kind of thing. So, you know, might not have the legs, but it looks different. It looks fun Um And I don't really know the lore of I've literally not watched a single Halloween movie. Oh, interesting Oh I just I just like I just like him. He just seems like a cool dude from everything you know. Yeah, he's just a cool guy. I like playing as him and D by daylight. It feels more like a cool concept than a realized worldor to me which is my only like kind of beef with it. But I do think like what they do works like and Haley, you probably would throw playing this, don't play this game, but it's less nauseating to play than it is to look at someone else play. If you're watching someone play, it doesn't make any sense, but when you're playing it You're like so in the zone of looking at the three D world and then also glancing at the two D world for secrets and kind of vice versa and it is fun to kind of interact. between them, but it yeah, it didn't sparkle for me in the way that I hoped it would Sorry Leo, you can't pull a bullet out of somebody's body like it's a just ' it doesn't sparkle Sociopath. but maybe for you, you know, that's the new love of your life. I don't know. That makes so much sense looking at it. It's the most interesting premise ever having the game boy in the front of your screen and the whole other game going on in the background. But it looks a little lacking in like personality charm, specifically what they're going for. so I hope there's it's hard enough to make one good game. and the pitch of this is like what if we made two Right, right Okay for a refresher for everybody's at. But honestly, the Haley Sarah Let's playay being available is incensive enough to play any game if you don't w want to get it spoiled because you don still want the fun of the Let's playay. But mean to make a long story short is I saw this hands offff at SGF And I was just Really enjoyed what I saw of it. I think the setting is really cool. I like these sort of The pacing that it has. I like the focus on just being in this town and how they care about like scale and assets. I like that they had a lot of like little details that seem cool. Like one thing that they mentioned was In lieu of having the character say things out loud all the time, like you often see in like horror games, they're just gonna to have like text so you can like read his internal thought and still kind of get the information, but have it feel like more integrated to like how the character would be. And the number one thing I really liked is just that radio aspect of it. Funnily enough, it weirdly shares that with Greenbown the idea of like seeing something or having secrets into the world But I thought that was just like a really cool way to integrate something that we constantly see in video games, which is the you can magically sort of see where people are in their silhouettes ' I guess, you know, and plenty of games try to like either make excuses for that or they just say, hey, just accept this as a thing. And I thought it was so like cool and creative that their solution to that was that radio component where you can kind of use that to see enemy silhouettes on top of secrets. So It just seems like it's going to be a good game and that's That's what the guns are really about at the end of the day. You know, It's about shooting the games we think are really cool Ladies and gentlemen, I yield my time, ye. yeah, I I am so I think the Silent Hill F was so successful in doing a silent hill in a place that is not The town of Silent Hill or kind of an ambiguous American wherever, which is where all the previous ones had taken place. I love Scotland. and so I'm very excited about this being what I'm picturing in my brain, which I, you know who knows how close this will be is kind of a silent hill Everybody's gone to the Rapture Yeah of like exploring this little Scottish town and seeing what's happened. The specificity has me excited. The fact that it's first person, basically, other than the short message, which was first person, wasn it? That was fun. like Silent Hill, not traditionally first person thing. I'm excited about that. The studio, I think has made other cool like story successful stuff. Yeah. so made they made a observation was their last game back in twenty nineteen. It's been a long time Yeah. A quick thing too about the Scotland aspect that you mentioned, Jacob, like when it comes to again, details and having like things be creative and like thought out like another thing that had stood out to me from that hands off session was they were showing this puzzle that involved like getting the prepaid cards for the electricity meter which is I guess how does electricity used to run in Scotland like a lot. You would have these prepaid cards and like put it in to like pay for your electricity. And like that stuff's so cool. I just think big part of what makes a video game go from like good to great is Thinking through stuff like that and really having like the care and like intrigue and it's also like, okay, cool, what can What does it mean to have a game set in a place? and how can we use that to our advantage in terms of gameplay and storytelling? It seems that this game has A lot of like thought when it comes to that. Yeah Hailey, which way would you leave? But you ex know more. I think Jacob was just gonna in. And so I could imagine this being something that you like have to find. I don't know. I didn't know that they were adding that because it is interesting. My answer is being able to teleport to specific merchants in Ghost of Yote. That's too much I think it just kind of like It's like why even pretend that these are like people living in a village at all You know, just just make it a menu at that point. Wh because they had you could invite people to your camp, specific people that you had once you had a certain bond and then do Yeah. But it's like why would you? That would be cool to have force you to engage with that more. Yeahah Yeah. Yeah. Fast traravel is an interesting case for that because sometimes it is U you know, you miss out on the experiences you would have in a Red Dead Redemption Ibe type scenario, but's you know, if a game's not built for it, it wouldn't really be that interesting. And it's like three, thirty five minute videos of just kind of like rapid fire absurdity and it's like the best way to kind of just Remind yourself for the silliness of Double Fine. It's very fun. they were It's very interesting kind this stuff, but they're talking about They're like, I don't know. they're debating about some story beaten psychonuts too. And they're like, I don't even know if like apartheid exists in the psychonuts world. And then someone one of the sound designers, I think, but he's like, he's like, I don't even know if like World War two existed in the psychonuts world And Tim Saer, he goes Yes, it does. There's an entire level based on it. You made it. It's like the opening of ps one. He's like, Oh yeah, that's right. That's Yeahah. Anyway, sorry, I love how the series portrays collaborative creativity, very messy, yes, but also full of beautiful moments of empathy and surprise. As beautiful. Oh sor As beautiful people, no doubt, but as people who seem to engage in a mix of individual and group creativity, what do you find most compelling about creating in a group It's really When you're working with the right people, I think it was a a Matt Johnson talking about it, putting it as like when you come up with an idea that feels like this is already what it is. We've landed on the truth of what we already were trying to find. Like it's always been this and suddenly you're all like tapped into the same We know exactly what's going on here. we all can tell how right it is. Yeah I've been looking for the right solution. and then suddenly immediately it's like we have solved it And you feel that every week with N show Plus pitches, we're like we all completely agree what this show is. It's locked in Yes. And then we don't get to make it. it slips through my fingers. I feel like it's really just the very simple experience of like people being way better than you at something. You know, like my most frequent professional collaboration other than you know just doing a podcast with Minax is Hot Cider, who's the guy who makes all my thumbnails. and like I enjoy that process so much because I can just kind of lob him some general ideas and his him trying to interpret what I'm saying always is so much more interesting than what I would have done if I could have just made the thing that was in my brain.. And so it's really just like, hey, you're better at this than me and I love using your talent to to help me with this thing. hundred percent. That's the best feeling in the world because I'm so not tuned into like the style of things. I have such such a hard time with like aesthetics and, you know, making things look good, really. But yeah, in my last the Guide to peopleeople video, just putting it in my editor's hands of like the transitions and the borders for things, it's just It's instantly Thank you for making my thing better. And I want you to take it where your imagination takes you because I trust you on that I don't know. It's awesome to have to just offload the things I'm not confident about and have them be my favorite things about it. Yeah. this is a small little instance, right? But in the aforementioned Rapid our interview, we have a control resume coming up Soon. It was like it was coming in hot. Like it was really like, you're doing this tomorrow morning or not at all. It was like, okay. And so I scrambled and I wrote like seven pages of questions and people lo stuff for the selection and all that stuff And then it was like I was really about to do the interview. And then Leo was like, oh crap. And very kindly was up for me calling him. And it was so helpful. It was literally like fifteen minutes before doing the interview. It's like, let me just read you all these questions. And genuinely just like reading it out loud and having him react and like do punch upps and follow ups and stuff, it genuinely, the way I told it to was like, it made it thirty percent better. Just like that one quick call is like, okay, now there's actually A couple of slightly funny things in this video, thanks to Leo instead of me just being like, the other thing about New Game pllus, you know, is like it would have been so frickaking dry. Yeah What is the ultimate fair food Corn dog, corn the cob Honestly, corn on the cob, I was leaning that way as well. Like min donuts and corn on the cob, I think is a good one do punch. I think you got to I really think you should go with multiple people so you can try more things in smaller portions because like part of part of Fair Foods pitch sometimes is you get a lot of it, but I think that's the wrong tact because really you want to try a bunch of different things because they're all like wacky and out there. so Being able to get one of my favorite things to the North Carolina State Fair is there's a place that just does like weird egg rolls. and they one time they had like a thansgiving dinner egg roll where it was like all the kind of thanksgiving stuff Fried and it was so good, but it's like, I don't want to I don't want to fill up on like three Thanksgiving egg rolls. I want one and then also the chance to get to eat the like barbecue and mac and cheese thing and the you know, the ice cream in the donnut cone. you know, it's like, I just want quantity Yeahid they That's what the dinner should be the stuff that Jacob just said, if Im because I was thinking like barbecue, like ribs or some type of sa meat. Yeah It's someone who made a program So they have a camera filming a top down of their desk and then they are remotely activating certain vibrating parts of the steam controllers vibrate, so it's steering itself across the desk on your magnetic charging cable. It like It's like Labo all over again. Oh my. It's just like All vibr and then it charges sweet. Get a little of this. This is an article from the Players Tbune called Dear Rx San that was written by Jan Demonde, who plays for Ivery Cast who are in the World Cup right now. I don't know where how they're doing the group stage. But it was an article that he wrote about his late sister. and it's so beautiful. It's so nicely written I genuinely was like crying, reading it before jumping on this episode. And if I talk too much more about it, I will just start crying again. So I encourage you to read it. short casual has some like nice images to kind of add to the story and it was just very moving. And if you're not familiar with the Plererss Tribune, it's kind of a cool platform. Isn't that old they came out like in twenty fourteen and it's L conversations from like a first person perspective on like professional athletes. L the idea is like athletes are always covered by like the general media, but like where's their place to kind of tell their own stories for themselves directly in the player's tribune? It's just having those like so close together is this like extra gut punch of like, not that Nintendo iss perfect, but they of like, yeah, we figured out how to keep things relatively stable for all these studios here and we're raising everybody's salary Not to be Dbbie D downer. for context that We just raised employees wages by ten percent was a response to a question that was asked, are Nintendo employees allowed to unionize interestnteresting,. Oh So therefore it's also worth mentioning that like a lot of like Nintendo's like good business practices are a result of like how laws are different over there for employees.
