The White House is scrambling right now ahead of the fourth of July to ensure that the President of the United States as a large crowd on the national mall Despite the fact that we're about to see record breaking heat in Washington, D.C, temperatures well above one hundred degrees this weekend And it comes after reportedly behind the scenes, the president was quote, livid at the fact that he didn't have a strong crowd presence during his speech at the Great America State Fair, a state Fair that as you know has been marred by small crowd sizes At the same time, today, the presresident unveiled his Qatari Air Force One jet You'll be using that to travel this morning to the Dakotas first speech at the Teddy Roosevelt Pesidential liibrary and then again to Mount Rushmore tomorrow Ice detained a nun walking to her local parish And Well, the president's financial disclosures show that he made billions and billions of dollars off of crypto He says, well, everyone just makes money. I want to begin by talking about the fourourth of July and what you should expect this weekend As you may know, the president has co oppted the fourourth of July to make it a campaign style speech onn taxpayer dime on the national mall Well, it starts at one thirty PM and it's scheduled to run until close to midnight. Fireworks won't begin until after eleven PM. and right now we're expecting record breaking heat in Washington, DC And according to reports this morning Trump officials at the White House are livid that this week's F fourth of July celebration could draw disappointing crowds after last week's kickoff rally in the Great American State Fair saw sparse attendance Trump was said to be angry after seeing aerial photos showing empty areas at his rally prompting internal finger pointing over poor turnout and efforts to ensure a fuller audience for his independence Day speech through free ticketing The fair also has faced significant logistical problems, including forers backing out, weather disruptions, uneven state events and security restrictions that have discouraged attendance Now, Trump previously claimed his speech was huge. forty five thousand people were there that it was completely full. They were able to do it. He wishes they had a larger area to do it. It was packed to the brim The truth is it was not full, it was not packed to the brim And that's why right now they're scrambling to try to make it better The celebration has become closely tied to Trump's personal political image with the president viewing it as a key part of his legacy alongside events like the World Cup Trump envisioned a nation semi quintent quinintentennial as a defining moment of his presidency. But critics are arguing that essentially him being so polarizing is making it difficult. There was a confonfederate flag display in North Carolina's tent, which was not provided by the state of North Carolina, but rather officials, private organizers And organizers continue to claim without evidence that more than one hundred fifty thousand people have attended the state fair When you think about it, the saf fair has been running for over a week. That's about ten to fifteen thousand people per day, that's not actually that many people. And if you look even at the videos, it's likely much less And it comes ahead of the fourourth of July holiday where now the mayor has said that the fireworks will not begin until eleven PM later than previously noted It comes as we're about to have record breaking heat. one hundred five degree heat on Friday, one hundred two, hundred three degree heat on Saturday in Washington, DC. We're about to have multiple days of over one hundred degree heat. so The president is asking folks to show up at one PM in the heat and then stay all the way through eleven PM outside and well because of security restrictions They're not going to be able to carry much. They're going to have to go through multiple metle detectors. It has the potential of really being a difficult situation Speaking of difficult situations, I want to talk about What happened to this woman She's a Catholic nun Sister Letishia Ugboaja was released from ice custody after she was detained while walking to church in her religious habits And she was only released after intervention from members of Congress She was arrested near the U.S Mexico border She was later released and returned home Faith leaders across the United States of America are actively being detained by ICE. She was arrested by IC simply while walking to volunteer at her local parish Had members of Congress not stepped in to this moment She would still be behind bars in an icice detention facility. And it comes after Muslim faith leaders have been detained and others across the United States of America Well, right now, Trump is heading to, I believe, North Dakota to speak at the Roosevelt Pidential Library He's unveiling his first ever new Qatari jet that the United States will now use as air Force w. Heading to the jet, he was asked about his personal financial disclosures, which have shown him earn billions and billions of dollars I want you to take a listen to what the presresident had to say this morning, essentially excusing disisclosures You know I don't get involved in my personal. We have funds that run my money. Well, I've made a lot of money before I became president And they invest my money and I don't talk to them. I I don't even speak to them. I have Many people, I don't know what they call closed accounts or something, you put your money in And that said, I don't talk to them. They're big institutions And they run it But yeah, I've had a great career. In business, I've had a great career conflic I don't know if I've had a better career in politics or business, but I had a great career in business. U you know, you saw the cash. You report the different things. and what they do is we gave it, I think it's called a blind account, but they basically they take it. And I purposely I never speak to any of the people that run the money, but they're at big institutions and they invest in whatever they invest So he's fine with it. He says everyone makes money. So you one of the things I try to do, Laura is constantly ask myself, what have we learned Has what we learned is it consistent with what I thought was going to happen or is it inconsistent with what I thought was going happen? I really do think the Christian faith calls political leaders to be humble because real humility is how you learn. It's how you learn about other people. and it's how you make better decisions over the course of time. The other thing Laura, I'd say that my faith really motivates me towards is to remember Our economic policy, it doesn't exist for corporations, it doesn't exist for Wall Street. As much as we want everybody to be successful, it exists to support the dignity of human beings. We want every American to be able to raise a family, to be able to support themselves in comfort and in dignity. That's why we're trying to bring investment in manufacturing back to the United States of America That's why we don't like low wage foreigners coming in and undercutting the wages of American workers. We want normal Americans to be able to live a dignified life.
