She saves Ruthy, kills Krem, and returns the metropolis with Krypto to spend more time with Sperman, her cousin, that has been your Midnight manifest for Supergirl. And what Tom King was able to do in that in his com in that comic that he wrote Woman of tomorrow. A womoman of tomorrow is essentially And he was like, how do we streamline this character who has never really had a purpose in the comic books that isn't just being supermanss A cin, yeah. Yeah Edward He ventures on is well, historically, Supergirl leaves Krypton later than Kello She was a pret teen or teenager when he was a baby So you take this idea and you're like, okay, what does it mean when this young teenager or this young woman experiences the death of her entire culture? And what you have is this story of like, oh, she wants to go to this planet with this red sun, get drunk She has, crypto, all of this stuff I'm not saying this movie is a failure because it did not adapt the comic book one to one, because Comic book is fine It is more so, which is like This movie doesn't know what it wants to be It doesn't know if it wants to be Mad Max Fury Road. It doesn't know if it wants to be Guardians of the galaxy. just It doesn't know if it wants to be Wonder Woman, so it ends up just being nothing. It doesn't know if it wants to be Star Wars know So I mean, look S What we're doing in This culture. We're doing a lot of Costume Merchanting Merchandising custe merchants, cospling. He was, I would say even watching this movie if we're talking about nineties characters that I remember from by childhood, another reason this movie don't work is even as a kid, I was like, Lobo sucks because there was dead pool There was Cable. Yeah. there was Wolverine. There edge Lord off in the night where it's like who had the edgiest most like extreme character that you can make and Lobo is in that conversation. And watching this, I was like, wait, who is this movie for? Be I'm thirty three. I know who Lobo is and I'm not going to get excited about this. If this is the group that like went to go see Wonder Woman or Captain Marvel, like, oh, we're finally getting a woman hero Are they going to be like, damn, Lobo is crazy I was just like yo, you making this movie for like forty and fifty year olds. this is the deal I think that having Lobo a character like Lobo in a movie like that It's all about the execution because No one would care about Lobo being in the movie if Lobo was awesome If Lobo was an awesome character then's actually a low leverage thing to put them in the movie because the people who don't know who Lobo is just goes, hey, that Lobo guy fucking awesome. And the people who do know who Lobo is goes fuck, we finally get a live action Lobo. But if you put Lobo in the movie, And Lobo not awesome. peopleople going to be like Wh the fuck is Lobo in the movie? Those people are going to be like that, the casuals and then the die hards that want to see are going to be like I away all this time and they fucked up looba So if you put Lobo in the moie you gotta get right. It is the key jingling because he actively is taking away from anything meaningful could possibly happen.
