John Deere Classic Mega Preview | Picks, Storylines, Best BetsJun 30, 2026 — starts at 0:00

Welcome in everybody. This is the second Cup podcast and this is your tournament preview, storylines and best bets for the John Deere classic. Joining me to do just that is Mark Gimmelman A littleittle better start today, Mark than last time it was you and me. That's because Mina's here helping us out producing. Yeah, God bless Mina because at least we got the music at the start, but I still feel like you slayed the last one. so I'm looking forward to that. Well, this one will go even better because talking golf is something we can handle, but producing the show is little more of a you know, there's some hiccups there with that one U Mark, this is a pretty cool event looking at the John Deere classic. I think through its history And it it seems to be that kind of event that has a soft spot in a lot of players hearts It's a place where Guys like Zach Johnson and Steve Stricker had a great success and they continued to come back and support the event. And then you also think about players like Jordan Speith and Bryson D Chambau who really got their start here. This week. There's a player making his pro debut by the name of Jackson Coyvin. And he's making his pro debut here this week. his resume, his college resume is absolutely incredible Haskins awward multiple times. Jack Nicholas awward multiple times. Ben Hogan awward, multiple times. He even won the Phil Michkelson Award. He swept them all as a freshman and won everything except the Pil Michkeolson awward as a junior. And now he's turning pro. What are your expectations for Jackson Coven this week? I thought he was a pro already. I mean, the way he's been playing and we've wr. We've all known he's the real deal. 's been making a lot of money in NIL. Strangely, I'm actually in Auburn, Alabama right now. so right' stumping ground And and look, he's He's not just a great young player. He's a fantastic young man too, from all accounts and And what a great place to start too, because you speak of The John Dere cllassic And it's sort of been the jumping off point for a number of PGA Tours Literati. And I mean, probably the mostost notable of that bunch has been Jn Speith, but Sep Strucker going to win here early in And you see all these youngsters coming here, the field is ' always decent. The golf course is awesome The fans, the people in the area. call they honestly call this and we could put together bed the fifth major conversation because they call the John Der C classic the fifth major And some people love to come out. they show out in droves The concerts over the weekend, they throw a couple on Friday night and Saturday night U with this year, is it always coincides with the fourourth of July Independistine, with this year being two hundred and fifty years old, the United States honestly, I can't wait to get up to Silvvers, Illinois, and to Moolin, the quQuad cities, whatever you want to call it. because it's just such a fun place and a great tournament And it really is a pretty good field when you look at it beyond just Jackson Cin. I think Jackson Coyins the Pro the top storyline for me looking at his resume since last year's John Deere classic. he's played five PGA tour events. All of them are top twenty fiveives He was tied eleventh at the John Deere classic last year, tied sixth at the isco tied fifth at the Wyndham Championship, tied fourth at the procore, which had tenen Rider Cup American Ryer Cup players in that field Ny beat all but two And then tied twenty third. co lo am honors at Chhinacock Hills. That was the only event in twenty twenty six So I can't wait to see what he does But as for this tournament specifically As as this tournament is concerned I got a very I got a great report that I found to be compelling from a Caddy out there, an anonymous Catdy and I really think it's retty interesting. I'll read you some of this. All right The thing that stands out about deer runun year after year is how good the conditioning of the course is The definition between fairway and rough is as good as it gets. The cuts are sharp out here Like you couldn't do any better with a big razor You can tell the blades on the mowers are brand new Your divots stay together. they have heft to them. they feel healthy when you replace them. They fit the divot hole perfectly. Hitting a wedge through this turf is like cutting carrot cake. It just feels good. The greens are immaculate right at twelve, twelve and half creeping ben grass, suuper consistent green to green. When you hit a seven iron it hops once and stops The ballmark is a little less than half a ball deep just the right amount of firmness for maintaining smooth surfaces deal for scoring I mean, it sounds to me, Mark like this is just heaven for a player. And as a result, we get a lot of birdies Well would make sense with John Dere as a sponsor.. Because honestly, in relation to the golf course The John Dere headquarters is not even a couple miles away And the fourteenth old that drivable path four is named Dear Run So everything about the place is John Ge. I just want to put a quick bow on the Jackson Covven conversation Im And I'm so keen to see how he goes in his first professional event this and I don't want to and the soft launch has already happened You know, we know who Jackson Coven is The only difference now is the commensurate amount of expectation he's got to undergo And the thing about John Dere, the TBC Dar run You reference the fact, I mean, we've seen scores deep in the twenty under p range when in years' past And so then you backtrack that. Now I'm not saying he's going to miss the cut Pressure is now different when you're playing with a scorecard in your pocket and it actually means something. You're not just free wheeling in a professional event as an amateur U so with the reading with the cut number normally being about that four, five Sometimes even six under the p numberb You could play really, really well in Mr.ter Cut. Now, I'm not wishing ill I'm just saying first time out, this is different And I'm really keen given all his skill 's going to take on this place because look, the fans are going to be out to watch him I'm certain he' going to be in a featureroup I have not looked at the groupings just yet. I But it's going to be it's going to be a fun ride. and And we've got a lot of good young American stars coming through a blade's brown Miles Russell who still in College. But I was at this very event a few years ago in the final round where I had one group includcluded on Sunday Clanton and Michael Thorb Jnson They were both can't miss kids. Remember them Yes. Okay U still waiting. Okay because this VGA too a place when you playing for money is different. Like Jackson's got all the tools. We know this. I'm keen to see how it goes now because the uh The ante has certainly changed. It's been not It has but I will mention this I think well one thing Right to your point. looking at the winning scores the past what is this six years? Brian Campbell eighteen under Davis Thompson in twenty twenty four set the scoring record at twenty eight under Sep Strka twenty one under JT. Post and twenty one under Lucas Glover nineteen under Dylan for Telly. twenty one under. So you pretty much have to get into the twenties, which means you got to make probablyrobably six birdies a day And you can afford a bgeie on Th of those days U likeike you said, you could play great golf and miss the cut. Oh This is also alost Iew I need to say this real fast. Yeah as I look at the way Jackson plays And then you look at previous winners of this tournaments And if I look at multiple winners And you have obviously Strucker and you got Zach Johnson and Jordan Speeith Jordan is the outlier over there. Ordinarily, they're pretty accurate iron players and they're great putters Jackson Cbin. is a fantastic utter of the golf ball It is by far and away hes strength And so I think just that is going to lend itself to him You know having a decent week, but again, it's different when you're playing for M So I'm glad you brought up Planton and I think I said that right, by the way. Yeah. Well you did Thorbjn. I'm glad you brought them up because there's a lot of hype around them as well There's something that feels different to me. tellell me if I'm crazy here. But there have only been time two two time Nicholas award winners in college Jackson Coyvan and Phil Michkeolson There have only been four multiple time Haskins awward winners which is Jackson Coyin. Ben Crenshaw Bobby Clampet Pil Michkels And there have only been three multiple time Hogan Award winners, which are Jackson Coyan John Rom and Ludwig Oberg. That's pretty it's pretty rich company There's not a lot of guys on that list that I just named that have teetered out. I mean Ludwig Gberg is the guy that stands out Like what has he done? and he's still pretty young and is one two PGA tour events. Yeah, well, that' that's sort of the thing. you know, it's not that the golfers can't play these dudes out here on the tour Albeit young, but like Victor Hobin forolume six is a wily veteran now And he's still what's he in his thirties? Is he twenty He's got to be twenty nine. H's not his age? There's not even thirty yet. So so these dudes have been around for a little bit. And they just know the ins and the outs And you're going to be really good. like this shows you how good Tiger Woods was to win so early U as a young pro coming out, Jordan Speith, same sort of thing becausecause you get to golf courses like this one. There's a certain amount of local knowledge that's brought to bear And you're coming back to a place where really good players The top one hundred forty what's the feel? one fifty six the If it's not, it's one hundred forty four. I think this is a one hundred and fifty six. could be one hundred forty four. Well, let's just for easy metath, Let's maybe one hundred forty, right you don't have all the blls of the ball kind of thing with the Schefflers and compompany in R's, but you got guys are really, really good And they've come to this golf course a few times and they know the ins and the outs and they know the hotels and they know the places to go and eat. And I know that sounds a bit random because it's golf, but all of these things, the comfort level is a big deal And so That's why someone like Ludvk, you watch him play and you're like, gosh, man, this guy is like heven Sent. But it's you're still playing against really strong fields. I don't care who you are and you're still going to you know go and do the thing and then out last these guys and that Again, proves how great Tiger Woods was a young man and then for Jordan to win quickly like he did within those seven events That was special too The reality is He he he was yet this John Dere. Think about this for a second And again folks, I'm not poo pooing Jackson Caven or anyway I just know how good the PGA tour is Jordan was not leading that tournament David Hearne was, if memory serves me And Zach Johnson was in the mix as well And Jordan gets there on eighteen, misses it in the right Greenside bunker One hops this thing against the flag and it drops in That thing because it's downhill could have been like off the green and he makes bogy mayaybe even worse. So there was a certain amount of destiny brought to bear there. Then he went and won in the playoff. in none real shots from in the trees on the rat side of the fairway, this punch cuts calls it with a seven nine on the gre So You see, that's the thing that you sort of need to win as well. Sometimes things go your way. And Jordan did. And he turned that into a haall of Fame career that's still ongoing But it's big boys golf at you. That's the main thing about it Yeah, and again, this field is pretty strong. You got It's not the strongest field. It's not what we had last week at the Travelers. But you have Chris Gderp you have who's a great example of getting comfortable out on the PGA tour You know, his first year, he did not have his skis under him And now he's one of the better players out here Ben Griffin It took him a while to get comfortable under his skis. You got Keith Mitchell. Kegan Bradley, Jacob Bridgman Jackson Coyin, you got Jordan Speith Ricky Fowl Uh you got Kim, you know, there there's some really good players up here at the top of the board Just a few years ago this time of the year, Tom Kim broke out with a runner up at the Scottish shherard behind ander. And the next thing he was a su he was a superstar in waiting. rememember that A winning a few times. Yeah, it's it's They don't give out checks and trophies around the PGA tour There's no guarantees unlike the other place, you got to earn it You have to earn it. And it's going to get even harder to earn in the future So I'll be I'm appreciating this this year's John Dear cllassic. I don't know what's going to happen to the future of the event But I think these smaller PGA tour events when you have a crowd and a fan base and a community that really supports it with everything they have It creates a special product And I think that's what you're going to get to see this year Probably next year beyond that, I don't know Along those lines men, I don't know if you heard Zach Johnson, who's like the patron saint of the John Dere C classic He was sort of I'd call it, maybe passive aggressive a little bit in the press conference that he did You know, because he turned down the U. S senior open You come and play the John D Classic and For many reasons, he listed But he's likeack When I come back to John Dera classic It starts with the people and ends with the people And he said, thenen there's the course and all the things in between. But he goes, the people around here And the work that John Deere and all of the Tourent people do for charitable organizations Around this area is massive And he goes happens to be a little different on the PGA tour nowadays But that all being said, that this is a very very valuable tournament to a lot of people So he was sort of sending a bit of a shot across the bow by the sounds of things going. I'm an Elder statesman on this tour. I'm a multiple major champion I've won at the Masters and at St. Andrews I know my stuff U I've been a radicup captain I've been on Rady Cup teams And I'm not so sure that you guys ditching this event for him pererhaps a track challenge. Challeng series event or whatever the case might be in the future,'s a very good idea I didn't say that, but you kind of got the Sensed it. You got the sense, yeah It's I mean, that's a big deal because he would have been My guess is the second favorite heading over there to the US. senior openp behind only Stuart Sink. I don't know who else you'd put ahead of them Uh so it's it's a big statement that I guess the fifth major on the PGA tour is ahead of the first major on PGA tour Champions. I think that's fair to say Yeah. And you know what, the way you put that is very smart because You know, Zach is a Champions tour player who gets into certain PGH tour events on his number and on invitations. And he got into this event on his number and he chose it over a Champions tour major championship which speaks volumes It speaks Volumes It really does. It really does. So I am going to enjoy watching this event Regardless of what happens next. And next, of course is grid if you're watching for the first time. E and every week we have the opportunity to I do a matchup a finishing position two outrights Mina puts our picks in the grid and we share that. Now Bang Okay, not bad What do you say, Mark? Let's take a look at this here. We'll go through Rick' first. He's got Carson Young over Matt Cucher at minus one ten Interesting Carson Young popped up in a lot of my research, so I don't necessarily hate that. U I'm interested, mayaybe we'll hear more from Rick later on this week about it. But you found yourself a match upp as well and it's against the guy we were just talking about. What do you find, Mark? rememember, reminder, I'm in Auburn, Alabama, so perhaps I shouldn't go for dinner if people watching g Aually right here in a hotel in the middle of campus It's beautiful. That's why you got the lights off in there Eactly okay. And I'm an Alabama guy, but I wouldn't say roll tide too l I look at Carson Young and Matt Kuter. now see Matt Kuter is kind of the player who thrives around a golf course like this then I' look at Jackson Covin who is favorite against the guy. who just won the memorial just a few weeks ago, who hits irons beautifully. Wh's a really nice putter when he starts feeling his groove who I think has won this tournament before me from wrong, JT Poston, Ezz he JT Poston has won this tournament before. He did Let's see twenty five, twenty four, twenty three two twenty two. So you telling me that a guy fresh out of college. With a bunch of trophies, I I will con see is a favorite over a guy who's just won the memorial and a winner at this tournament. I'm likeuck, not so fast. I'm going with a veteran. I'm going with one of those wileily vets in JT Poston because he's seen this place. He knows the drill Again, Jackson impresses me saying anything against him. I'm just going for the old guy That's what I'm doing. Oh okay. Well, More than one thing can be true at the same time. I'll get to that in just a moment My matchup. I have Keith Mitchell minus one hundred and five over Keegan Bradley. This is veteran on veteran action. I just I really wanted to work Keith Mitchell into this grid some way somehow. I love the way that he's been playing He's been striking the ball beautifully for about a month and a half now. But what I also really like is the new putteries put in play has really come around And that is so important here at TPC Der runun He's gained strokes putting in four out of his last six events, which is really good for Keith Mitchell, also in his last two It's miraculous a big impress miraculous for Keith Mitchell. It really is. I mean, he'd be a top five player if he if he putted average And he's headed that way So I really think he's going to have a great week. Now Rick in the finishing positions Mark has gone with Jackson Cven for a top ten at plus two and sixty five Now he could he could hit that and you could hit your matchup at the same time. I think with JT Poston, that's a very realistic possibility I really do because I'm loving JT person this week It took a lot for him to turn my eyes away from him when I was looking at putting together the grid. I'm Man, Rick must know something. I respect both you and your in your intellect and the inside But I then if he's falling for a little hype there, what the story is, we're going to have to find out the skinny when we see him next. It's a lot of hype. He has backed it up quite a bit. Um I understand where he's coming from Really in four out of his last five events on the PGA tour he has finished top ten And he was the co low amateur at the US openen his only event in his only professional event in twenty twenty six I have Tom Kim for a top twenty plus one hundred forty six. I think Tom Kim is on the way back. We'll get to more of that a little bit later on And Mark, you found another is that a top forty That's a t forty. You know, I'm sort of these finishing position bets' always a bit defensive because I know they're on the PGA tour, especially at an event like this You can just miss a few puts and finish thirty sixth kind of thing when you play solid it. U But I watched Denny McCarthy play a little bit last week. on TV and he look good His record arounda is impeccable. He's comfortable on the golf course He is a player that fits the Steve Stricker ill They cut from the same cloth the way they hit irons and the length they head it off the T and then the way they fight So I if Rick cameame and was here I'd say toim, hey, Rick, you want to double down on that wine bit. I'll take mine of coffee pllus one of six for a top forty versus your Jackson Coven for a top ten all day long and twice twice every weekend. it's I mean Dny McCarthy inside the top forty is almost a guarantee for me M Mina has entered the chat. She has Well, wait a minute His is a long hes his odds are longer T. That's really long odds Top Yes. topop ten. I'd be I'd be looking for a little bit more in terms of juice on that bed over there then plus two sixty five plus plus two, sixty five. We can do it You take it on his behalf. I'll take it. All right.. Make a note Write it down wine bag. And where the reorder button is. Oh you don't even have to tell them. We'll just have to do subscribe and just have it sent to you every week. Let's say this because I'm a big one on setting the terms of bits So your guy Jackson Cven has to finish inside the top ten and if he does, And my guy finishes inside the top forty, you win But if your guy doesn't finish inside the top ten and my guy finishes in the top forty, I win Yes Well All right, But what if Danny McCarthy wins and Jackson Coyy even finishes second I would. Yes Yes All right. Okay, Rick's gonna to tell me I shouldn't, but I I the bit So I get it. Cven finishes top ten McCarthy finish Let's say Coyvin finishes tenth Solo tenth, Danny McCarthy finishes eleventh. Corggan wins Yes Cin Wins tape. What's done is done. I like the terms. I remember, I'm a witness. I can explain anything as long as I have Mina's permission to explain. Mina, I love you. I love you like sister If you're just joining us, Mark is undefeated in Winebs Maybe Nina And maybe Jackson Coyin is the. You know what's better than the wine bits is when now when I see Rick on that Bcast show And I'd start texting him to make sure he admits this on television Yeah, let's even get out That is yeah, it's it doesn't even matter what the stakes are at that point It could be a bet for a handshake and it gets pretty good for you and bad for him.bsolutely. All right, let's get to the outrights Mark, why don't you share both of yours? I really like where your head's at Go ahead and share both your outrights with us plan First off, I think Ben Griffin or God one of the two of them may be the favorite this week, Bettingwise. And I just love where Ben Griffin's game is going I do remember him having missed the cut here at this event before and that's when he had just gotten into He'd never played Lyink's golf so he went over to the Scottish Op F U so I'm not so sure the track record around this golf course is that good But he plays Bent Greens really well and he's playing very well, Griffin, that is So I just like his chances and he's a winner. you know, there's certain guys ut it like this, there's an old dittdy that kind of goes Everyone wants the spotlights So when they get in the spotlight, they realize it's really bright and really hot Well, that's why I wear sunglasses Yeah And Ben Griffin loves the spotlight and he thrives under it. He's proven he can win So good playade here twice He has a tied fifth in twenty twenty four. Oh he missed that cut. Last year he missed the cut, but if you remember he played like eleven events in a row It was playing great and I think he was just gasted at this one And he continued to play great after And he went straight to U the British Isles to prepare he had never played links golf So so Griffin, I'm loving the top five. That's good news even more. and then Eric Cole. The way he puts, that putting stroke is beautiful This golf course. is a gentle Mirfield village put it that way. Rfts notice thick, a of elevation changes got to be a good iron player, got to control trajectory in distance And you got to put some, you know, fast S ingi Cole does it as well as anyone. so I feel like he sort of breaks this breaks the Schneide Given how he's been playing lately and he's plus twenty seven hundred for an now tried victory I also have Eric Cole. Yeah twenty seven to one. I really like where your heads at here U I think it's a little shorter version of Mirfield Village. I think that's a good comparison. shhorter approach shots. which is great for Ericole. He excels in that area He has been putting beautifully And my one concern This is the reason I have him as a winner is it all comes down to this question Last week, he was in contention through thirty six holes at the Travelers and I wonder if he got tired over the weekend or if it just if it just didn't go as way And if you got tired I'm a little worried. Now on the other side of the coin, he plays he's played every week for his entire life So you know, one day off is a break. Hes should be rested and recoup. So I feel like it's it's boomer bust. If he comes out ready to go and he's got good energy, he's going to get in contention U and maybe he doesn't, but that's why I have him as a outright for me R right I mean I'm mean the I'm with you, but I'm in the dark again because because because of the lighting in Auburn Alabama Yeah. power powers out in Auburn, Alabama Next on my list is Sudarsh and Yalaarju so impressed with him. He's at forty seven to one I think is really long. He's he is an extremely impressive driver of the ball He is long and he's very straight His short iron numbers are really good and his putting numbers jumped off the page to me. This feels like another one of those young players who's just keeps knocking at the door and The only time anybody talks about him is when he gets on a broadcast late and has a put to finish in the top ten But you know, he he can it's like a surprise every time he does it and he keeps doing it So I love where Yall Miragu is And I think he's do and perhaps he's the rising star that comes out of the John Deere classic that nobody else sees coming when I saw that number, Greg considered betting him putting him on this grid And I'll tell you this, there's a little added bonus to this It's not even close that he's the best Canadian player right Yeah he' on the fringes of the International President's Cup team and the way he's been playing, I've quizzed a few of the people in charge and I'm like Can't turn your eyes away from this guy and they're like, we cannot So if you have happens to pull a victory off, you can book it. you'll be in black and gold in Chicago. That would be so cool to see. What a rise it would be out of it would seem like it was out of nowhere, but I'm telling you, it has not been out of nowhere. All he has done is play great golf Love what I'm seeing there Rick has Chris Godderp who is u What do you have I can't see it? What do you have for bang here? plus fourteen Whoops Whoops Sorry boys. Gre's Greg's making bogeies people. Yeah L at., what are you doing? All right, there we go, there we go You got you got Griffin at fourteen hundred. So he and Goder up are the co Favorites Yeah, I've seen both as the favorites. That's why I was asking. h So he's got Chris Oderp, I think that's Fine. he's probablyroably the best player in the field I and should have a chance to win. And he's got Ben Coles at ninety to one who's been playing really good golf hitting the ball really well wonder I'm curious to see how he puts, but his ball striking is phenomenal. I'm sure that's what drew Rick's attention Yeah, he's probably the most accurate guy in the field. Got R up as far as I'm concerned, I mean I looked at him I still have him in one and done. but There's just something a little amiss right now and I can't put my finger on it It's not like he's lost confidence because he doesn't exist in that sort of Plain But but he just the putsn't going down as much But you never know with his kind of skill. He can can find it any week on tour Yeah, we're talking on Friday night and Chris Godderu's near the leave. He's the name you have circled. So We'll see if he can get there I'm kind of with you, but it's worth a shot All right, that leaves us with one more thing to do, Mark, and that's the most important thing The most important thing Although now we got this wine bet, which is kind of rising in importance. This is still number one. I'm not going to click any buttons. Mina is going to bring up the silhouettes for the one she's not Shes br Oh, she's not. She's going to bring out the standings. We'll quickly go through this markarks and first Rick and second chance at third forth. That's the biggest flex forina I've ever seen. like Greg's hosting. I'm going to put the standings up and in the cellar There's me at the bottom. I'm looking up at everybody My goodness, it's been this way all year I think for one week I passed Mina And then she started going back to AI picks. Why don't I just do the same thing Anyway, those are your standings. It's a healthy lead for Mark. He will be the leader at the end of this week as well So now what do you say, Mina, C we get to silhouettes now There they are Okay, u, I think I know who Mark has I know it looks tight. You can see by the visor Yeah That is a visor That's a bother It's a visor And Mina has the same visor All right husband and a wife. it's in Pettico there Yes. All right. They're jelling. All right, let's start with me Last place. I have Tom Kim I R.. veryery excited about where Tom Kim's game is He's in He should be a perfect fit for this place If you think about Steve Sticker Mark? I love his short iron play especially and I think he's find in something with the putter He's nowhere near the putter Steve Stricker was, but I think he's putting better now And he's going to have a great week I wanted to say when I saw that silhouette, I thought you'd see Wukim, but theyh know They both could different get the good picks around here Yes. Seibu unfortunately not playing this week, but We'll be seeing plenty of him. he's having a great year All right, Rick has As we can tell Keith Mitchell. Yes, Keith Mitchell for Rick. I like to play U been putting a lot better as I said Mark Who do you ask First need to say that of all the PGA tour headshots, Keith Mitchell's is by far and away the best Really? I mean, he's got a nice big smile there It looks like he's happy to be there. I always headhuck you That is a great headge job. He's po It's like he's been trained on how to pose He's got the southern boy smile. he's looking great I am going W favorite according to the betdting guys in the on the betting board in this field, and that's Ben Griffin Yeah So many, so many things to like I am sort of between him and God aip And I looked at a few other folks. I love JT Poston this week. I really do But in the end, I think it' Syire knows that I'm going with Ben Griffin Someone asked me on Twitter if They were overthinking playing Ben Griffin And I said if you're in the lead or performing well, you play Ben Griffin trailing He's probably going to be pretty popular. He might need to make up some ground. So Mark has The leader I think it's a wonderful pick. Thank you. That means a lot Mina has gone with H husband best headshot the best head best headshot. She's judging it based on We've had gut reactions. We've had AI. now we got fashion. That's how that's how Mina makes her picks and she's still beating me also goes with Keith Mitchell So it's Tom Kim for me, Keith Mitchell for Rick Ben Griffin for Mark and Keith Mitchell for Mina as well We'll see how it all plays out And we'll get you up to date on that Mark, I appreciate you joining me this evening I've got a little more work to do here I'm going to let you go. I know you got a busy schedule. so I appreciate you making time for us tonight. Oh man, I'm so glad I could make it. You've done a great job. won't say you're a better host than Rick, but you're a fantastic host One more thing before I head out into the Wild here in Auburn, Alabama Roll Tide Keep it quiet, keepeep those lights off. All right. I won't tell anyone you said it. Let's see you guys. All right, see you, Mark. Thankks again Oh, that is too funny Like I said, we got a little more work to do because we are now going to get into the fantasy section And it's time as this is it's been copyrighted. Rick got the copyright on it. Greg's goal for of the week We're going to start with it right there and it's Tom Kim I wantedumt play I'm very excited about Tom Kim. like I said. So I'm sharing my screen here. If you're not watching on YouTube. If you're not, you should be U, but if you are, you can see the attraction right here. Tom Kim extremely impressive with his iron playay since the Myrtle Beach classic Interestingly, looking at Rick's website in preparation The courses that are the best course comps to the John Deere classic. Dunens's Golf and Beach Club is one of them. I found that to be very interesting. I don't really know why, but that's what the data says. And there you got Tom Kim with a T six there. also third at the U S. open tied fifteenth at the Canadian open. This guy starting to feel it I mentioned to Mark that his putting has improved and you see right there he's gain strokes putting in four out of his last five events veryery excited for chances of Tom Kim Now we'll get into the fantasy section of the board here Tom Kim is, of course, one of those I want to move on through these tiers. So we'll go nine K plus eight K seven K range and the six K range as well And up next, we have Keith Mitchell who we talked about all we've talked about him a lot, but I really like what we've this is what you know about Keith Mitchell. elite driver of the golf ball. you could see gain significant strokes each and every week veryer solid iron player, especially of late. But look at this. this is the move to the mallet Potter right here Now all of a sudden, he's gain strokes putting in four out of his last six That is key to success here TPC deer run That's why I love Keith Mitchell as well Then next we'll go to Ben Griffin Also in he's also in the ten K range. very popular and one and done. but look at this. I mean, this is why All of a sudden, Ben Griffin is starting to look like the Ben Griffin of last year thirird at the Cadillac Championship. tied tenth at the Zurich thirird at the Cadillac, fourteenth at the PGA, thirird at the Charles Schwab seventeenth at the U.S. open tenth at the Travelers last week. And he does have a tied fifth finish. this venue as well a TPC deer run. reallyally all along Ben Griffin through this whole season has putted quite well. U he's putted very well, but the thing that's missing is over here in the approach section This area was way down for them this year compared to last year But in these last four events, he's starting to pick up a little bit of steam Now we're looking at a much more complete player that we know and love All right, next We're going to go to Uh Jacob Bridman n thousand five hundred on draft Kings Rather excited about Jacob Bridgeman's chances this week. I thought he was going to have a great performance last week, but I'm going back to the well. He checked all the boxes in my research. You know, he performs very well in those short iron ranges from one hundred to one hundred seventy five yards. He's among the very best in this field this right here, these three events in a row leading into the traravelers. He had gain strokes on approach. I thought that trend was going up. We had a slight dip this week It's not going to deter me. because he's also the best putter in this field for twenty twenty six And I think what he gets on greens like this, he's going to show you why he's the best putter in the field for sure. You heard Mark mention it. Jackson Coyan is best area of his game is the putting U I it's hard to argue looking at this This is going back to early twenty twenty five, the farmers insurance open Every time he teas it up in a PGA tour event or a major He gained significant strokes, putting. I mean, over a shot in all of them. And that that includes his last five when you started to really see him perform well in the finishing positions. But he's also been a killer off the te He drives it really long. He drives it really straight and he flushes the irons. So I love where Jackson Coyin is. I think he's the real deal. what he has done in college is is a big deal. And for fantasy purposes think he's a really strong play this week. He could even headline a team. In a field like this, I'm very willing to are lead off with with Jackson Cloyan saves you in the six K range as well, which is on the weak side All right now I want to get to Eric Cole who we've talked a lot about. nine one hundred on draft Kings I'll show you his course history here because I think it's pretty interesting. Just really one great start in in four trips here to TPC deer. Runny has made three cuts But just one top ten I found that to be surprising because he does check all the other boxes. Again, in Birdie Fest competitions, you look at these two columns. You look at the approach play. which he's performed at a very high level. onene of the best players on tour over the last couple of months with his irons. and also you look at this column here, which is the put in gotot away from a little bit at the travelers, specifically on the weekend You see u in round three and round for he didn't hit the ball very well, D didnn't quite get the putter rolling either not a great finish to What was a great start Travelers championship. My instinct is that he rebounds G, this is why I had him in the outright tab. I think there's a chance if he's got high energy levels that he wins the tournament And if he's if he's gassed then You know, maybe he doesn't perform very well I think it's worth the chance because he could easily have withdrawn and he didn't So I think he's feeling Pretty good. himself Next we'll go to Pearson Coty. This one at eight thousand eight hundred. I'm pretty interested in it doesn't feel to me Like this is a Pearson Cody golf course But I'm just looking at What he has done with the put in lately And this is a really strong This is a really strong performance for him the last six events he's gain strokes putting in five of them I think that's really impressive for somebody who's known to be just an elite driver of the golf ball But she is Um, the Iiron playay has been a little bit of a concern. He's still putting together some pretty good finishing positions. topop twenty five and three out of his last four. But if you look at what he did early in the year when he was basically involved in every show we did, this was the reason why he was gaining strokes almost every week approaching the green and off the tee Um And he wass putting really well also. Some of that has fallen off as the years gone on But I just I just have a feeling that this key category right here putter is going to shine through He also happens to be the I think it's the third best putter on Bentgrass greens this year in this whole field So Pearson Cudody kind of even though he's eighty eight hundred. probably not going to be very popular U I I am Definitely interested Sudarsin, Yalamarju. This guy just kept coming up in E y statistical area that I looked at one hundred to one hundred twenty five, one hundred twenty five to one hundred fifty, one fifty to one hundred seventy five Sudarsh and Yelamarju just continued to pop up. This is the other thing that I really like. Well, puts great on bank grass, which is great Looking at some of these stats here to drive in Eleventh on tour in clubhe speed is very long. He also is forty fifth in driving accuracy So he hits it a long way And He hits it very straight as well I like that Look at some of these metrics here. Very good with the short irons I'm you know, fifty first from one hundred to one twenty five, sixty ninth from one twenty five to one hundred fifty. he's I guess a little bit better in these long ranges as well. But his Iiron playay as a whole It's been phenomenal and very good putter as well And and this all, I'm going to scroll back up here to the top So I don't make you too dizzy He's been putting very well lately, gaining strokes in three out of his last four in the finishing positions just don't lie. He can put them together. So I love what I'm seeing out of Sadarsian Yalamarju We go to seven the seven thousand dollars range. Oh Sudarsin is in the seven thousand dollars range, by the way, He's seventy nine hundred do So I think that's a great value Aldrich Pock Eater is sitting at seven thousand five hundred This is another kind of sneaky option You can tell I am very interested in the putuddting. One of the other courses on Rick's site was Vidanta World where Aldrich Pock eater lost on a playoff to Brian Campbell last year Brian Campbell also won this event last year My guess is that has something to do with the data that says Vedanta and this place are similar. U But you also just have to make a ton of birdies at both of them Looking at Pock Eater, we know how long he is and that's why you may not think John Deere would be a great spot for him. But he he's starting to add some other elements to his game And it's showing up in the finishing positions. againgain, tied eighth at the at the RBC Canadian open, but in three out of his last fories gain strokes approaching the green around the green in his last two And since he switched to the mallet putter much like Keith Mitchell. You've seen a real improvement in his putting for over four strokes up there in Canada at the RBC Heritage, you put it much better as well. I believe that was the first event when he used a a mallet putter And that was definitely an area. of the game that he needed to clean up continontinuing on in the seven thousand dollars range. I think I think this player Blades Brown is worth getting into U he's again, a lot of the attention is on Jackson Coin this week. and probably should Just looking at what what Blades Brown has been able to do in PGA tour starts Tied fourteenth at the Byron Nelson. Tide ninth in Myrtle Beach. againgain, that's one of the comp courses u he was tied twenty six because of his partner Otherwise they would have finished much higher at the Zur Classic thirird in Puerto Rico He just tied eighteenth at the American Express. It just seems like every time Blades Brown tees it up in a PGA tour event. He performs better than he does even when he's playing on the Corn Ferry tour So I have no issue, no reason at all. to shy away. from him A couple One other guy I want to get into here in the seven thousand dollars range is spinning up right now and this is Emiliano Grillo Who's at seven thousand three hundred I lost in a playoff here last year. looking at the resume second last year lost on in that playoff to Brian Campbell. He also finished tide second in twenty twenty two So he clearly performs well here That's why I feel like he's underpriced, looking at what he's done bothoth his drive in and his approach play. It's spectacular Three out of the last four approaching the green. Also in the mix here, he qualified for this US open through open qualifying and cruised up in Canada He was really impressive there. short gamamees been better lately gaining in two out of the last three gaining strokes on the greens and three out of the last four. progressively getting better actually gained five strokes put in the U. S. open I love what I'm seeing at Emiliano Grilo. I am not sure why He's seven thousand three hundred. It just doesn't make sense to me. the last guy that I want to get into. I got to I got to find him here. So bear with me because now we're going to get down to the six thousand dollars range Now, one of the things that I would say is really important about this week is you know, start in with someone like Jackson Cin. I know I included Keith Mitchell and Ben Griffin in there. I think it's valuable to start with them. But the six K ranges not very strong There's really only one guy that I u really liked when looking at the six thousand dollars range and it was Jimmy Stanger. I'm very impressed with his game watching him on TV. He was so good at the Canadian open the stats don't really show it. You know, he hit a couple of he took a couple of penalties with his approach shots. and I think that's why you see the numbers look like they do. He's he's prone to hit a really poor shot from time to time. But I love what he can do on the greens And when I was looking at this range trying to identify the best players in this range, his name stood out to me he's definitely the best hter of anybody in the six thousand dollars range when you combine it with You know, a teed to green ability. I think his teed to green ability is better than the other good putters in the six thousand dollars range, if that makes sense U So that's those are the players that I really like and the fantasy portion U So that's all we have for you at this point. We got a I'm not sure what we're going to do Friday. I don't know if I'll be here Friday, but I'm sure we'll have something for you later on this week. Rick R be here. He'll be here.
