So your iPhone has just changed again . Apple held this week and whether you're excited , you're skeptical, you're just plain overwhelmed. One thing is very clear. The way your iPhone thinks , talks and understands you is about to be very different . And because Apple didn't just update Siri, they threw it out and started over. A brand new assistant, a brand new name , one that knows your mess ages, your emails, what's literally on your screen right now , and actually can hopefully hold a conversation about it. So is this the series we were promised years ago or is it another App announcement that just sounds better in a keynote than in real life? We've got thoughts, a lot of them. So this is the hangout. Let's get into it. And with that, I am opening the very first official tank out that we're doing, the first one of the newer generation, but past, we don't talk about it . And with me I have a really cool panel six , five minus me called people from well including four minus four okay we're getting going down Ben minus Ben Okay, now I got I got a really quick Chuck is here Truck is here person here. Yes. Coldest shirt on the black Two cool people. True. She does. True. So let's start with Chuck Chuck Joyner. Hi . We know you from other shows, right? Like the Bridge Tech Network, for example, and in touch with us, as well as dead one. MacVoice is actually mostly . Yes, because Macroice is still my home and the others I have been on. And yes, and this is this is going to be interesting to see how this evolves because the as you said, it was born as sort of out of the ashes of the Max show and so yeah, it's going to be fun. It always is with, especially with this group of people. Yeah, it's going to it's always going to be fun. Yeah. And I mean it's also going to be a broader tech focus, which I think is quite quite up your LED with everything you're doing with Mac devices . And let's go just around my picture, my window here. Dave , how are you doing? Like I'm doing great. I'm so excited to be here with this new adventure we're having here . We let the Mac go to the history what a great eighteen years of Mac of the British Tech network and our thanks to UN, of course, for all that. And we did those we did all those goodbyes last week, but fresh new start here. So much new technology. I'm excited to contribute and then have some fun here with all our friends . Yeah , and you're right, Dave is just twice on the screen, so I'll fix that . In the meantime, it's not me for once . Now we now we have Margie twice. Who is missing? Someone who's missing Chuck is there? One, two, three, someone is missing one two three four five six. Now Marty's there twice.. Now Marty said Oh, it's Ben. Ben. Ben is like, and I blame you. It's always Ben's fault. Yeah, speaking of factor . Speaking of Marty , Marty , like, I mean, you're Mr, Mr. Apple everything . Like you have, I think, about fifteen million different Apple podcasts . Basically for every device, there's at least five, right? If they come out with any new devices, I'm going to be in trouble. When my glasses come out, I don't know what I'm gonna do . Thank God they're gonna buy a car . I know what you're going to do. You're going to do two shows at once. Yeah . Yeah, we'll do the home pod central with Marty Genesius. Yeah. No, he's gonna he's just literally gonna be like two cameras and he does like two shows . Oh, it's going to be the breakfast show, the lunch show , the dinner show, the brushing my teeth before bed show. The snack show. Yeah, snack show . Yeah, but happy . Hyapp to have you. We just I'm amongst friends. We just gave Barty a lot of great ideas right there. Yes You might be yeah . Yeah I'm looking forward to rebranding as Marty News Network Ben all the time all the time. That would be fun Not a news network. Not a new Apple, all Apple even giving you my mostly, mostly . The person who's not doing all Apple has been, for example, also on the big show on the tech nical tech network and on the original version of the Tech Hangout and so many other things , then we will come back. It's been a while Me? Yes, you know, it's glad to be here and be part of this new era. Yeah. And I'm looking forward to your text stories. So I know you like a lot of like gaming, for example, some fun stuff from you. So apparently. And Chuck, you said evolve . Oh, this is gonna devolve . I was being optimistic, man. Yeah, exactly. We should be optimistic. At least in the beginning, I could rule everything else would follow . And the person who's been hosting, I don't know how many shows that I've been on over the last many, many, many years and my podcasting compatriot on Tremitro Rewards. We have Jeff Gamma with us . Patrice, I'm so excited that we're all here and we are doing the first episode this is cool. I cannot wait to see how this goes . And that could go two ways. It could be exciting because everything is so cool or it could be exciting because it's like when you slow down on the highway to look at the wreck off the side cent of theer and either way , we will be entertained. Little we will be entertained but little column A, little column B, little bit of everything . So and speaking of little a bit of everything , let's jump into our very first segment, which we dubbed the feeds . Everybody brings a story and then we'll have a couple minutes to talk about it . I'm just going to randomize the order here because like just how it was put in the document . So let's just start with Chuck . You have a really cool rogue rogue planet Windows Defender zero data you bring'reing us today . Yeah , I brought this because this is an example of the fight that's going on with Microsoft. I can't decide if Microsoft is trying to pick a fight with developers or not . But basically this one gentleman , if my understanding of the situation is correct, this one researcher pointed out to Microsoft Abug and instead of welcoming it and say ing thank you , they sort of initiated some legal action against him and curtailed his access to this . So last week, I guess, we had this huge patch ed Tuesday thing come out because of all the bugs, over two hundred that had been found in Microsoft . So that was patched. And right after that, the very same security researcher revealed a new zero Day . And so, you know, that's kind of pointed, I think. And frankly, I don't blame him. And it's no secret that I'm not a fan of Microsoft . But I just feel like, you know, what are you doing? You know, because the very people that are helping you make your product better , which is not an easy thing to do, but they're trying and you're alienating them to the point now that they're kind of pulling your pants down. And so I think this is going to be an interest I don't know if it's a Bellweather situation or just one of those mistakes that some idiot made , but boy this was a this is one that just doesn't feel good. Yeah . I mean I think they might have lost some of their fans like to this because that created a lot of backlash in the security community. I mean like he got the sent the digital cr imes unit on the researcher. They revoked access to the Microsoft Security Response Center . They think shut down his GitHub and GitLab repositories . They were basically pulling all the stops. And I think the only reason why that stopped eventually was that there was a massive backlash and public outcry and they're saying, What the hell are you doing? Is this Is this the same security researcher that had been telling Microsoft, hey, you have this major security flaw for quite a while and then eventually it was like look , I've got to disclose it and he did. So okay, just make it's the same person. Yeah. Okay. And so then that's when Microsoft retaliated . And so now his retaliation is , you know what, screw you oh and they also refused to pay him the bounty . Yeah, exactly. Forgot that. That was forget that. Yeah, the bounty that he was holding. I think they reversed that decision as well now, but it, it just took public humili humiliation for that to happen . , this . This is essentially the tech equivalent to
